Yes so the room that's there NOW can be used for another production I'm sure.....and other rooms you've done, even if it takes some time.   confused2

Ah ballroom then Bond so couldn't this room be staged for the Aladin production?. It would save you having to work so hard.

Good evening, children in need on the box
Yes some things can be saved from the props but we may never need Queen Victorias phone again but the stage set changes from play to play, last one was Blyth Spirt so a bit of a change to Scrooge and his story
Any tea in that pot?

All this talk of hospitals and isolation places
reminded me that there was an old manor
near the junction of the Daventry Road, the
road to Whitley Village and the main road to
wards Bagington and Ryton on the London Road.
It was set back from the road but it was for a
long time an Isolation hospital. They sent my sister
there when I believe she had Scarlet Fever.

There is bright sunny out this morning here,
its so bright I feel like wearing sunglasses in
the house!
I could have cheerfully stayed in last night and
just lazed around but as I am the person who opens up
the room and sets out the chairs, I had no choice.
Still, no meeting next Thursday as its Thanksgiving.

I have to undo a tangle created by not being able to
catch Tabbitha and take her to the vets last week.
They have an appointment for a shot which could only
be given three weeks after the shot that Jagger got.
So now have to cancel out Tabbitha and set another
appointment for her physical and blood test and then
wait three weeks before taking her in for the next shot!
Does that make sense? I hope so.

The ladies groups are having secret Santa gifts. The N/H
one is more along the lines of something to eat either
made or bought. The other group will be unisex as there
will be men at that party so a bottle of wine seems best.

Its funny how I have been headbanger about buying
a cardigan to throw on if I am cold in France that is a neutral
color. I had a light bulb moment just a few minutes ago
I have a black V neck cardigan in a storage box under the bed!
If I can find my gloves I just need a wooly hat of some kind,
NO pom-poms need apply!!
I have decide not to send out Xmas cards this year and just do a
news letter instead. I just need envelopes and stamps that way.
Its a chore I am not looking forward to but it must be done and
time is getting away from me at the moment.
I have a couple of phone calls to make and finally take BB to the car
wash (she must look her best for the Vision Driving test on Monday!)

Well been to Fosse Park we bought some wrapping paper for Christmas & birthday present bags for both Rachael (that's why Susan's coming up Carole, meant to say) & for Sylvia. also lipstick to put with Sylvia's present....though I don't know why I bother she'll not like either of my gifts. Rolling Eyes I keep saying I should just buy a bottle of booze. THOUGH she did looooove the fluffy dressing gown I bought her the other christmas. confused2 Though is the same IF she THINKS you've not spent enough she's not a happy bunny.

Yes it's cold out there.....

Went to Palmers Sir Graham

Had the snuggle blanket all to myself last night Sir Graham must of been otherwise er busy.

Bond do the Am Dram keep any of the stuff the use so you don't have to keep re-doing things?

Ok drinks for anyone seeing I'm off to the kitchen? run run run

Carole, it's gone very cold here and a little rain in the air so it's throw another log on the fire and settle down to children in need on the box
Yes it's a good job I retired or I wouldn't have time to go to work, it's that each year the sets get bigger and the props more complex
It's tea time over here with warm mince pies

Yes BIG snow in the middle of the country
the day before Denver residents were out
on the golf courses enjoying late 70f

We have two more nice warm days before

Sorry for being late ,Spencer dropped
off his 2013 Kia ,the dealer said it could be
it will need a new transmission (could job
it's fully covered for 100'000 miles or 10 yrs )
They said they will call him tomorrow and try to
get him a loaner ,if it does need a new one ,as they
have only just taken over the Kia dealership and
do not have that set up yet ,as it will probably be next
week before it's ready ..

Will speak tomorrow ..I see our first deadly snow storm
is hitting out West Denver ,with a 20 car pile up...
The storm is spread right across to Minnesota

Any way sleep tight ,New snuggle blanket I see Sad

Oh that was like me Carole I had TB and had to go to an Isolation hospital I was 4 yrs at the time, though 5 yrs when I went home, and my Gran (the only person to visit)  had to talk to me through the window.....I used to cry when she went so the little boy Stanley who was in the next room (couldn't share the same room)  used to distract me with his bright red car....I loved that car.

I gave my dolls away to my cousin when I was about to get married (though I *had to* throw my teddy in the bin, I loved my teddy the last thing my Mum gave me when I was 5 yrs but my Gran said my cousin was too young for that so the BEST PLACE was in the bin )   though Linda, my cousin, had an evil step mum who one day, when she *thought* Linda wasn't doing what the evil step mum thought she should, threw all my dolls in the bin confused2

Good evening Sir Graham......

The Royal Court is the black & white manor house Bond....with the big drive is that the one?

Wendy went to a hospital when she had Meningitis
back in 1957 ,but it was not Keresley ,the name escapes
me now ,I remember she was in isolation and had a hissy
fit over the Dr's white coat they hung on her door we could
only see her through the windows ,very upsetting

Now I had my tonsils and ananoids ? removed when I was 5
cannot remember where I was taken all I remember was being
given something on a spoon that I thought was jam ,but it tasted
"funny" next thing I remember was being in a big room with a HUGE
dolls house in and had a terrible sore throat, but my Nan when I got
home being as I was a "good girl" had knitted me a whole outfit
for my crock faced doll Daphne ,I can still see it yellow wool and
she cross stitched around the bottom of the coat and beret ...
{I was made to give her to Wendy when she was 2
as Mum said I was too old for dolls .I was 12 }then she dropped her on
the kitchen floor and broke her face ,how I ,and at that time
I could have my baby sister ....

So Susan is coming up this week for any thing special Vicky ?

Marge you go girl guess I had MY fling before I remarried
my EX in 1990 and of course Gil in 1996 ,for 25 yrs before that I was

I had my eye surgery there back in 1947/48.
I was the only child in there at the time and
they didn't want me in a ward on my own so
they put me in the men's ward!(guess there
was no ladies in the women's ward either
at the time).
They were very nice to me for the couple of
days I was in there just to make sure there
was no infection before sending me home.

For at least 4 weeks before this I had been at
Corley Open Air School being fattened up for
the surgery. I can only just remember that
we kids were in a type of wooden barracks
behind the main Victorian house or Hall.
We understood that the Barracks may have
been used by POWs working the farm during
the war.
I still have the letters we were made to write
each week to reassure our parents that we
were being looked after OK.
Beside lessons we looked after some animals,
I remember goats, rabbits, ducks and chickens
an old horse and some lambs.
I also believe this place was for children who
were prescribed a month at what was basically
a health farm for kids. Giving them fresh air,
good food and room to run and play away from
their home situation for what ever reason. Sometimes
it was just a failure to thrive situation not because of
abuse.
The parents took a bus from Pool Meadow
one Sunday each month along the Tamworth Road and
dropped off at the end of a long driveway to the House.
The only down side of all the time away from my regular
school was that I got so far behind and never quite
caught up so failed my 11+ .

Dinner last night was at El Torito a chain Mexican restaurant
with the ladies of the Friends of St George. Its been in
business for over 40 years and the food is still good.
I made my own combination,3 small beef Tacos with
refried beans (its like mushy peas, only beans) and
Spanish rice. Every Mexican restaurant give you a bowl
of Salsa and crisp deep fried corn chips to snack on while
waiting for your entrée. I only drank iced tea but they do
make very good Margaritas.

We won't meet next week as its the day before Thanksgiving.
I am invited as I said to Teresa's house for that along with
Lorna.
On Dec 3rd I have the N/H ladies Xmas party.
and some time after that will be the St. Georges ladies
Xmas Party, aren't I the social Butterfly!
What ever time I have will be preparing for the jaunt
to France.
Its my regular meeting tonight.
Got Big Red washed and hand waxed at the carwash yesterday
so will take Black Beauty today from just a regular wash and wax.
(she got detailed the last time so should take just regular washes
for another 6 months.
(We have so much natural dust in the air and from construction
all around us that the cars don't stay clean for long.)
Time I was back to work. TTFN

No Bond the pub you're talking about, so David tells me, is on the other side to the Royal Court the one you're talking about is called The Old Hall......The Royal Court is the 19th century old manor, used to belong to William Hillman of Hillman & Herbert bicycling manufactorters....they became, years later, Hillman cars.    In 1929 it was converted into a convalescent hospital.....poorly children were also taken there Carole, David went there once when he was ill,  Keresley Hospital closed in 1968  he thinks it was the Kilpatrick family who bought the building and made it into a Hotel......The Royal Court.     We went there for a meal once, Valentine's Day or something..

I'll pop round with the hat in a mo.....

Just had pizza for dinner......

Oh Susan's coming up for the weekend.

Morning Bond ,I would imagine the
hospital is long gone then after all I am
talking 51 yrs ago ,and you only went there
in cases like me where Spencer had to have
two blood exchanges when he was born ,I believe
all other hospital deliveries went to Coventry & Warwick
but not sure ,maybe Marge knows

Ummm that door sounds interesting do you have a
opening that the player will open and stick his head
through at the right time ??? I can just imagine it √

WOW nice weather as I said here but looking ahead
to MONDAY when they come to do the Furnace brrrrrr
the HIGH is only going to be at 35f that day so
here's hoping the low water valve is a quick fix

More problems as well ,Spencer went to Carmen's and
called me saying his car was acting up ,and the check engine
light had come on he said it was not shifting {its automatic}
properly ,now he has engine coverage but the dealer he bought it from
has gone and where he has to take it now has no car loaner
yet set up as they just changed from being a Nisson dealer to KIA
and the earliest they can see it is Friday at 9am ,and he cannot
sit around to wait for it , so he may have to use mine but he like
me hates doing that as it leaves me without wheels all day in case
I need to get out ...so have to see what happens
He is going to scan it when he gets to work to see what it shows
is going on headbanger headbanger

OK hope everyone's bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning
I shall be back later run run run

Oh Green Sleeves , yes I play that , believed to have been composed by Henry V111.

I don't mind the Coventry Carol , but O' Little town of Bethlehem is my favourite to the
tune Forest Green .

To be honest I love Carols , so hence we have our mince pie and carols get together.
This organ has a lovely CATHEDRAL and CHURCH organ sound , and extremely good THEATRE
ORGAN . Very sweet sound , and the STRINGS ARE SUBLIME . You would think it was Montavani .
I will record Greensleeves for you Margaret , then send via e mail or messenger if you want .

Oh no tootsies is going be nigh on impossible now CB in CT , ah good time eh Miss Vicky , but
are you sure there would be fleas on a hill side ?

I was picturing you with a block of soap getting all the fleas off the snuggle blanket   confused2    we really shouldn't have taken it to that hill to have a picnic.  affraid   but you talked me into it Sir Graham.

affraid UNDER PACK.....what strange language she does speak.   You should see me packing when we go to visit Susan for a long weekend.

ME having the SNUGGLE blanket
and you thought I was WHAT defleaing
it Shocked Shocked

Marge is right pickled onions I would steal
snuggle blankets that needs DEFLEAING I would NOT talktohand

Great idea about laying out your things for your trip Marge
hope you will not over pack though as I always seemed to do
I found later better to under pack and I could always BUY what
I was missing as a lot of things I packed never got used and BOY
was it heavy having to lug it on my own ...

I guess it must have been cats night to snuggle last
night as well Marge

Just called the plumber as the landlady told me yesterday
they were supposed to call me to set up a day to come
finish the work on the Furnace ,according to THEM they
had called me numerous times talktohand to which I
told them NO WAY as I have caller I.D. and the only time
their number showed up was Oct 17th so they
are F. O .S ......
Anyway they are coming out Monday between 8am and 10am
wonderful as the weather is supposed to go down wards
from Sunday onward.....so I am hoping its a quick fix
as Gil will be freezing having the heat turned off any length
of time Mad

Marge if YOU can hear Sir G's new organ on the West coast
imagine how LOUD it is MY SIDE Rolling Eyes

I love Green Sleeves BTW

Ok better go feed Gilly Bourne ....WHOOPS hey whats
wrong with my TOES ..... affraid
B O N D

Well, it finally feels like autumn here.
It was quite cool last night so got
two fuzzy faces cuddling up to me all
night.
Thanks for the chips and pickled onions
nothing tastes like it here, Vicky.

Got so much done yesterday but I wish
it wasn't all catch up work every time.
I don't know but I did add a vitamin B12
to my regular multi vitamin yesterday
so that might have given me a bit extra
get-up-and-go.
I still have a few more catalogues to go through.
I already have multiples of some with the same
stuff inside but a different cover so out they go.
I bought the suitcase I am going to use on the trip
into the office and started laying out a few things as
I remember. I have to find my plaid scarf and black leather
gloves and I need a wooly hat of some kind. I hate the ones
with pom-poms on and that's all we seem to have here.
(kids look so cute in them)
I also fished out some dress slacks that need about at least
an inch taking off the bottom along with ones that go with a
suit I will be wearing on the plane.
(I bought the light weight suit to take on another trip but
needed the trousers shortened so never took it)
Its supposed to be non wrinkle travel wear. I can wear it
with a long sleeved dressy T-shirt under it.
If I could I would take my valet case but it is just too darn big
so trying to fit as much as I can in the case that Ian assigned
me as fitting in the boot of the car we will be in.
Hope its an SUV!
I replaced the three ceiling bulbs and reset the Regulator wall
clock in the kitchen, only snag was I somehow turned off the
Westminster chimes so had to take it down three time until
they worked. Its a little on the loud side so at some point I
will take it down again and fix it now I know what little button
to move. (by the way I set it so all the clocks read exactly the same
time now! ) Only one I will not touch is the one in the car as that
would baffle a rocket scientist! Its beyond my pay scale!

Carole would steal Pickled onions but not Vicky's snuggle blanket,
(at least I don't think she would!) I will keep my eyes open if it
comes my way.
I can hear that organ from here Graham, don't go wearing it out
on the first day. :-D
Play a little "Green Sleeves" for me. The Coventry Carol is beautiful
but is not an easy tune to play or to sing but it is my all time
favorite. My high school actually made a recording of it at the Methodists
Hall. We always had a good school choir.

Must away and put my pinny on for another day of toil. TTFN

It's ok Sir Graham Carole's just been de-fleaing it .....

Any cake or biscuits Bond?    Oh is that a malted milk stuck to your thumb?

I didn't have chips I had crisps & salad.  confused2

Have nothing to do today bar going to get Gil a loaf
of the Italian bread he likes ,pulled out some steaks

laid up over the last few months ,maybe you should check THAT

the fridgefood   for left overs

That moon was high over head this morning as bright as can be

Buddy was in all night ,made us all laugh before I went into bed though,
I went to turn the duvet back on my side and GUESS who was LYING

Good morning all from Atherstone a bit dark yet
Yes Marge it was a bit of a ride around I could of caught a number 48 that goes straight between Atherstone and Coventry or the other way Coventry and Leicester but I got on one of the 50s the one going went through Bulkington and Ashgreen, a way I knew but coming back it was through Keresley and what I think was the old pit area through new industrial estates and old housing estates, one newish housing estate had a pole and lights barrier I've not seen anything like that, it was like a railway crossing barrier
Right breakfast

I am here......
Do not think Vicky went out Bond if she
is debating on her going out with Sylvia
tomorrow

Its RAINED ALL DAY since I went out at
9am....and some of it pretty hard too so all good
that will help a little with the water deficit..

Picked up two pair of lounge pants for Gil
and new undies and a 10 pack of black socks
for Spencer who said he was down to ONE pair
as all his socks were going into holes {the ones
he wears for work} I wondered where they were all
going as he normally has at least 6 pair in the wash
seems he has been throwing them out as they have
gotten holes in them

Also got 2 6 packs of V8 cans as at Walmart for what
ever reason its over a $1 CHEAPER than where I shop
for my weekly groceries ..

Glad you had a nice bus trip Bond "ding ding"

Marge sounds like you have your "dance card " in
order ,Thanks Giving etc ....Hope Jim gets better
soon ,not a good thing to have with having to help
Melanie ...

They are talking here that the weather could take
a DOWNWARD  turn about the week of Thanks Giving
November 24th this year ,{day before Tracie's B.day }
and that the above average temps we have been enjoying
will be the LAST Shocked

Made Chicken Nuggets with mashed potato and peas/carrots and gravy
for dinner ...

Buddy has been in ALL DAY stuck his head out the door twice
and turned back around Rolling Eyes

Sire G makes a "funny" , not rich, as not MY Pension ,its Gil's
which means we get to pay the rent and bills for another month

Feel better Vicky ,and stay home if your not 100%
those coal mines can be a Bit- @@#! santa

Malted milk biscuits it is
The people on the bus were great, on the way home I sat at one corner of the Back seat and another man had the other corner and that was fine until it got dark and he started talking to his reflection in the window and he was going to Atherstone he also blew his nose on the free newspaper and left it on the seat Shocked
