Morning Vicky
I had a LONG talk with his case worker at the home
earlier ,she took down all whats happened and was
going to speak to the therapist to make SURE she did not
hurt his right hand and arm ,she called me back after going
to see him and said he was doing fine and told the therapist
his goal was to get home in a week ....they will not be taking
his blood though again till Sunday as they do it every 3 days
it seems ,and we have this big Nor'easter supposed to be
hitting us next Tuesday ,so he may not get to go home anyway
in a week ,we shall see
Tracie said if she can get us down there for a holiday maybe that
will give him something to look forward to ,not sure if THAT will
happen as what would we do with Buddy now ,Spencer would let him
out before he goes to work at 530am but that means he would be
out ALL day till he got home ah well we shall see what
happens

Looks like the snow is easing up some

My old neighbor from the other house brought and left at my door
a pan of Eggplant Parm that his sister had made for their
dad who is also in a home right now ,that was a life saver as I
had not cooked yesterday being as I was out all day and was
not expecting Gil to be transferred yesterday
He had emailed me before about helping out ,but I had told him
we were fine ,I know he is trying to return the favor as I sent him
over at Xmas 1/2 a turkey & stuffing and all the fixings as he was alone
at that time

Anyway will be back

Gil does seem to be getting better Carole though it's early days....baby steps baby steps....but he's getting there.

You did well Margaret too.

Its good to hear that Gil is doing better.
How is nurse Carole doing?

I got the same reaction from Peters nurses,
I learned as much about Peters various
conditions as I could so I could explain
to the Dr. things that Peter "forgot".

I also taught the Oncology nurses
how to deal with Peters Urostomy
pouch as they did not have a clue!

What do they teach in nursing school
these days!
There are two kinds of nurses here, one is the
regular Registered Nurse and the others are
what are called Licensed Vocational Nurses.
(They do the grunt work while the RNs deal
with the medical aspects of patient care.)
Even the RNs didn't know about urine pouches!

Got a warm welcome at the service station for
arriving safe after driving Big Red two miles
on back streets with the door unlatched.
They fixed the headlight "reaching for the stars"
in the words of the owner and replaced the
faulty turn signal, they only needed to lubricate
the door latch to get it working again.

While BR was in they did a quick check to see if a
squeal I could hear was a belt but everything checked
out so I picked up the car the same day and it only
cost $130. Cheapest repair so far and fastest turn-
round ever!

Only thing left to do now is see if I can get a replacement
license plate as on the back plate the yellow numbers and
letters have run over the years so the plate is not readable
it looks like just a blue plate with bumps.
I feel that if I sell it in the future as a restorable classic
it should have the original plates on it or at least substitute
plates that go with the cars original registration.
(another fight with the dreaded DMV I think).

Peter and I got married when he was one month shy of 21
and I was 19 and 7 months old.
It was because he had been accepted into the Cranfield
College of Aeronautics (as It was) now the Cranfield
Institute of Technology.

We were going to marry when I turned 21 but a one
year wait had suddenly turned into two!
We had already known each other four years at this
point and I knew he needed to go but as the time
got closer to his leaving we were both heartbroken
at the thought of not being with each other so Peter
took the bull by the horns so to speak and asked
my Dad if he would consent to our getting married
before he left. To my great surprise my Dad said
OK!
Having both been raised with functional alcoholic
fathers we were "old souls" beyond our years for people
our age. It was the best decision we ever made!

Been having mild Migraine symptoms the last few days.
Don't know why so have been wearing my sunglasses
indoors as it has been so bright here. If I closed all
the curtains my neighbors would wonder what happened.
Hope now its turned cloudy again it will stop.

I am back ...figured I would do the shopper
first and get it out the way before going to see Gil
'
He was trying to eat what HE said was his dinner
actually was breakfast ,again jello Chicken broth and
a frozen ice and apple juice that he did not want and a cup of tea
So I fed him that then asked his nurse if the Dr's had been round
and she said she was still on the floor so I waited to speak to her
She is one of what they call Hospitalists who are at the hospital 24/7
so I would be able to speak to someone at all times needs be
She said they will not be doing anything as you know most hospitals
do not do any procedures on a weekend unless its an emergency
and that the Gastric Dr wanted to make SURE his ♥ is stable before
doing any thing any way ,and when I asked about them saying he would
have to have a stress test and how could they the way HE is walking etc
she said they can do it laying down with chemicals not on the tread mill
and that he will probably have to go into a rehab nursing home anyway
{THAT did not go over very well with Gil} as I said I have started to
get him into the home Dr's visits ,so she said the therapists at the rehab
would assess him to see if they agreed with me about him being unable
to get out etc
Before I left the Gastric Dr who is covering today stopped by said he would try
to find the report of when Gil was in the other hospital before and who did
the colonoscopy and what they did ,but that they would probably go down
his throat Monday if he stayed the same
So that is about it for now he has to sit tight until Monday
He said he did not want me to go when I was leaving Sad

We had SNOW flurries on the way home its BITTER cold
out there

Glad the carpet is "growing on you " Vicky
April will soon be here regards not being able to show us a COMPLETE

Bond how come you did not SPLURGE for those earrings imagine
what you would have gotten from Mrs B in return

Well both my lads have gone out now so guess all I have to do is RELAX
Maybe I will take an early shower as my hair is in DIRE need having to CXL
Fran Wednesday then taking Gil to the ER ,I have not washed it and
I HATE that, never let my hair go so long Mad
I called Fran to see if she could do it today ,but I knew the answer before
I asked as Saturday she is normally booked solid ,so will have to wait
until Wednesday

Back later run

Hi all, well you will love Staunton Harold, very up market and dog friendly but Bredon is a little down market but lots of bric-a-brac and collectibles,
The drive to Staunton is a mile off the main road it is tarmac but one way and narrow, pick a nice day and Wear your boots and may be change and paper in the boot but lovely walks and all sorts of craft shops, Mrs b saw a pair of earnings in one of the upmarket shops, thought these are nice then saw the price to of £190 and walked away, some are are not open Mondays but a nice man doing the car park tickets was playing his guitar and singing Everley brothers songs a bit of a fruit cake you will get on well
As I say Bredon is a little tired but still worth a look

Hey I was just 21 when we got married talktohand  I was too young it was only when I got to 27 I suddenly thought "You know NOW I'm feeling old enough to be married"  confused2 .

Ah well the dining area isn't walked on....littleBlond

So pleased that Gil is looking better......yes silly man stopping you from calling 911,

I realised if I brush (we've got one never been used) the carpet going towards the hall the footprints disappear.....after hoover  or between  it doesn't look too bad, still not what I thought but ....it's growing on me...."like a wart" David said when I said the same to him.  Smile    He likes it.

Oh and to top it all.....we've got a pipe blockage, David's tried to clear it but no good.  I'm sure it's the big wad of loo paper David was putting down the loo the other night when he blew his noise too hard and he burst a blood vessel, blood everywhere....I ended up calling 999 for an ambulance, because it wouldn't stop, pouring out.....a minute or two after I'd done that it slowly started to ease off so I telephone  back and they cancelled.   He went to the doctors yesterday and was told not to blow his nose OR SNEEZE for two weeks.  THIS is the doctor who wants to put me on BP tablets when I haven't got blood pressure "But you might in a couple of years time" littleBlond Mad

Oh  taken photos.....watch this space.     Avatar at the moment is Highclare for fans of Downton Abbey

Well a very happy anniversary to Judith and Bond
over 21 when you got hitched I see so KNEW
what you were doing funnytvprog
Hope you have a wonderful day anyway ....

Morning Vicky I am so sorry you hate your lounge
area carpet why do you like the dining room then?
as its all the same no?

Chelsea went up to see Gil and helped feed him some beef
broth and jello as he is on a liquid diet right now and also
made him a cuppa

Spencer went up after and said he looked better ,but told him
maybe if he had let me call 911 when the hard to breathe first started
he would not be where he is now or have to go through what the
cardiac Dr has planned ,even he said though how they will make him do
the treadmill stress test will be interesting
Spencer said he was talking about coming home today or Sunday
not SURE about THAT confused2

Tracie also called and spoke to him after she landed last night
said she would tell ME to take him some scratch off cards up ,I had been
avoiding that as he had tubes and wires in BOTH arms and figured I
did not want him trying to scratch the cards causing something to happen
so will cross THAT bridge when I go up
Also had a text from David had only just got my message as he has been
out of the country asking how his Grandad was

Its colder than hell right now and they are saying going to get even colder
and also there was some "WHITE" stuff in the forecast next week I believe
the weather man said was only 1/2 listening
Proper temp is 21f but feels like 10f with the wind chill

funnytvprog Tracie just text as she is on the Cuba route today
she called Gil's nurse who said he was doing very well and asked
if I was a NURSE as I knew all the technical words for Gil's disease
DUH ! confused2 I am just an informed wife who asks questions

Ok off I must go .Spencer off this weekend so still sleeping
I fed Buddy at 330am he had been on the bed during the night so THAT
MUST have been cold ,but he only slept till 5am before DIVE BOMBING
the bed to wake me up and go out Shocked
He was out about 20mins came in but is worrying me AGAIN to go back out
but he is going to have to get over it as its TOO cold out there for man
or BEAST
Back later run run

Happy Anniversary Bond & Mrs B.

Oh I'll take some photos Carole, was hoping to have everything done, Carpet & Curtains but the curtains won't be ready now until APRIL  that's gone out of the window.   And to think we didn't choose one of these other carpets (which I loved) because "You'll see all the footprints"    confused2   and it's got a tinge of lilac in it....David said "Don't be daft of course it's not"  Rob said yesterday "It's got a hint of lilac"  littleBlond just been looking (without walking on)  the dining area and it looks nice.....not what I thought it would look like but confused2 I look at the lounge and "HATE IT"   .....maybe it'll grow on me after a couple of years.   *narrows eyes*    wonder what Susan will say .....she's gone to Ireland to visit her friend until Monday.

Anyway how's Gil Carole?

No Laura this morning.

with butter   & please Bond.

 Melanie.

Steve's birthday is the 9th April Margaret though his son, our grandson is 24th April   Rob's is 19th May also another spring baby though Susan's is 26th August confused2  what went wrong?

You'll miss your friend Lucy, will you be able to pop in and see her often?

Glad to hear that Gil's looking better Carole.....he really is in the best place even though he'd rather be at home.

Bug Carole..... confused2  don't even know I've got it, as you don't until you have an ulcer .....apart from all the flippin tablets I'm taking   19 a day  nono  too many, far far too many.

No you don't seem to see the young Mum's putting the babies out in the fresh air over here either......what get's me really mad these days is all the Mum's nattering on their mobiles and not talking to their little ones.    Toddlers asking their Mum/Dad questions and they ignore them too busy nattering to their friends on the mobile.   headbanger  and why oh why do they have disposable nappies?  confused2  Terry nappies was what we all used and without a washingmachine   Mad  soapbox

Ok after that......where's Bond gone to.....wonder if he'll make drinks.      and he turns up

We're now spotting footprints on carpets  while watching programmes on the soaps   Smile    "You can see footprints, did you notice?"   Mad    Rob laughed when his Dad told him I didn't like the carpet but then said "It looks fine"    ....er no.      it's those tablets I'm turning into a grumpy git.

Well latest report from the bedside of
Mr Bourne
He LOOKS a LOT better as he was looking grey
when he went in or as I like to say "peaky"
he actually has some color in his face
Got there again just as the Dr's were "rounding" as
they call it ,then his Dr came in ans spoke to us
His hemoglobin is now after another unit of blood
up to a 9 he said when he came in it was dangerously low
and the cardiac Dr whom I also spoke to today said his heart
suffered a little damage due they believe to its having to work harder
as Gil was so anemic and it could not get enough oxygen
I asked if they were going to look down or up as what were
the chances of it dropping again ,so he said they are giving him
medication to prevent bleeding in his digestive track and that
the Gastric Dr's would probably do a procedure once he stabilizes
more
Anyway they will be transferring him down into a regular room later
today if his blood stayed up so I will have to call to find out

The heart Dr said they would also be doing a stress test funnytvprog
good luck with THAT and so I told her the problem I have getting him anywhere
so she said the Geriatric Dr whom I dropped all the paper work off to earlier
would then do that in the hospital so lots of ???? yet

I will be back again
Vicky hows YOUR "bug"

Ian's birthday is APRIL 12th, not even
I could have planned them that close!
I did want spring babies though as it
meant they got the whole summer to
be outside in their prams to sleep.
Lots of fresh, clean air.

If it rained ,we had a huge covered entryway
over the back door which encompassed the
coal storage area so one could fill the skuttle
without getting wet.
Ideal to put a pram when it rained or the wind got up.

Glad to hear Gil is at least stable, its a case of no
news is good news in his case as it is with Barry,
Ian's FIL.

Going to take Big Red in this morning to get the
door lock fixed and while its there they can also
fix the out of alignment headlight and the non
blinking turn left indicator.
Small things but all needed to drive a safe car.
I do not need a ticket of any kind right now.

I will be driving Big Red with an unlatched drivers side
door and will be taking the back way to get to the
service place holding the door closed and steering
with the other hand, I could not see getting a tow truck
when the car is running OK.

The sunny is out again here this morning but still cool
enough for a light jacket or cardigan.
The threat of some rain is still lingering in the forecast but
not for a few days yet.

It seems our neighbor Lucy's son has decide that she cannot live
alone in her house any more so is moving her into a retirement
community not far away. She does have health problems that
need monitoring and Lucy is stubborn about taking meds of any
kind. She says she "forgets" but I think its just her way of thumbing
her nose at her Dr.
We will miss her as she is a pistol! We can at least go and
visit her in her new place when she is settled.
Must get going here as I told Mike I would have the car in early.

Well seems Gil is in stable condition his vitals
are all OK according to "Dan" his night nurse
He did get another unit of blood and he was going to draw
a sample to see if the number had gone up at all
I will go up around 930am hopefully they will be able
to tell me where we go from here

Thought I would have a good night sleeping but
would you believe I was woken up twice with such terrible
cramps one at the top of my left leg where I have only gotten
a cramp once before ....woke at 1230 then again at 3am
so much for being able to get a good nights sleep headbanger

I see its Marge's daughters birthday today ,and Ian's is next
week the same as Blaine's {8th} you planned THAT good
Marge

Well we have returned to WINTER MODE 27f right now and tomorrow
will be even LOWER only in the single digits Rolling Eyes
At least the sunny is out right now but very deceiving

OK I shall be back later hope everyone's OK
Nice hair do Vicky
Thanks for the Bond

Thanks Guys
Called the nurse who has Gil today "Rose"
said he is stable but they are not doing anything
right now as the gastric Dr did a rectum exam and said
he saw brown stools {no Vicky no flecks} talktohand sorry
and Gil's blood count had only dropped a little so they would
rather wait as it will be a risk the way he is right now I guess
with his heart so unless he passes a bloody stool again they do not
want to go there yet ......Gilly is going to be none too pleased
I am thinking ,although Chelsea just text me she was there
but he said he was tired so she is going home and will go again tomorow
as I said I am also going tomorrow morning
I cannot stop coughing its like a tickle that will not stop and the medicine
does nothing ....

Well done Daniel something to be proud of Bond

Ok waiting on pictures Miss Vicky

And Marge I know you did not mean for ME to take the syrup of figs
I was just saying how I HATED it being made to take it once a week Mad

Ok I am going to have an early night and hopefully some long uninterrupted
Sleep Sleep Sleep Sleep

Well done to Daniel ......gosh how the years have flown.

Yes Margaret I'm sure that's what it is......after all on here I said it was sort of brownish with flecks  confused2  that's what it is and it does look good with the sofa's.

As Bond said Margaret nothing wrong with your grey matter.

Thinking of you Carole, hope all's going well with Gil.

Carole,
I was not suggesting YOU take syrup of figs,
I was thinking for Gill. There are always Sennapods.
Which is what they gave me in the hospital when I
had Melanie. That's just as foul but they do work!

We all know how well you manage everything and
everyone's right, he is in the right place to be helped
but you do know we are thinking about you both.

It seems the carjacking was done by a gang member
with mental issues, they stopped him by spiking the
tires and then ended it with a PIC maneuver.
(deliberately spinning the car around by a police
cruiser) then they pinned him in. He refused to get
out of the car so they sent for SWAT with their
big armoured personal carriers in case he was armed.
He gave up about two hours later when he heard the
K9 police dogs barking.
It was the slowest chase we have seen here in years.
Usually they are all over the place at breakneck speed.

With information from the guys family they decide to
wait him out but in the meantime the major artery N/S
near the beach was closed to traffic a long time so
lots of diversions.
The day before someone stole a Taco truck! (or
roach coaches as we affectionately call them)
Latest fad here, fancy high end food served on
four wheels. Used to be it was a service of coffee
and burgers for truckers but its gone high style here.

Vicky, it just takes time for the mind to adjust to the
new color combination, wait until the curtains go in
then you will be able to see the whole picture.

Its nice and sunny here again but for some reason the
weather forecast is saying light showers later.
The sky is so clear you can see vapor trails from high
flying aircraft thousands of feet in the air.

I have to finally gather my little grey cells together and
get busy with the Tax stuff, could not face it yesterday.
Have to be in the right frame of mind to do this stuff.

Hope we have better news about Gill later.

Here again for a while went up to see him
and the Dr's were all gathered outside his door
so was able to ask questions ,they are going to
go up and down sometime today to try and find out
where he is bleeding from as it could be either the
colon or his bladder ...
I said I would then come home and go up after
they did anything rather than sit around the hospital
waiting
A Cardiologist called me on the way home wanting to know
his ♥ history ,he has none ,but seems the enzymes in his are
now slightly up but because of the bleeding they cannot give
him blood thinners and only one of his BP meds that he has taken
since his brain aneurysm that he had back in 2004 ....

I spoke to Spencer they have no power as a transformer blew
and knocked out all power.....we have had a wind gust so far
of 52mph here in Bridgeport
No the lads cannot get off work Vicky I am fine with my trusty
and knowing all my friends and family are thinking of us
Sent a text to Wendy she feels bad she cannot help out

I threw a Slow cooker Lasagna together before I left earlier
so do not have to worry about cooking

Watching the bluddy trees bending in this wind YIKES !

I will be back when I can

Hospital just called moved Gil to Medical ICU
as he was having an acute attack after having the 2nd unit of blood
which she said can be caused by fluid build up in his lungs
Will post when I can ...I am scared Sad

Hi guys this will only be pretty short as I called
911 last night and Gil is up at the Bridgeport Hospital
long story short seems his blood count has dropped
from where he got it back up over a year ago of 11.something
to a 6. so he must have been bleeding again from inside
I gave them all the info of what happened last time especially
after he had the reaction to the iron infusion and after I left
him at 11pm they gave him a unit of blood ,but its still not
gone up much and when I spoke to his nurse just now she said
the G.I. Dr would be in to see him and probably do another
colonoscopy to find out where he is bleeding from again ,but
she just called back to get my permission to give him another unit of
blood making note of how he had the last reaction as there is always
a risk
So I will be getting ready later to go up again to see whats going on

Gil did not want to go last night but after I had to run into the
living room again when he was yelling he could not breathe I said
THAT IS IT

I will try to post later how things go

an L & L
OMG OMG ,I ran to the pharmacy after asking Gil
will you be OK while I go as its not ready till 220pm
and I was leaving at 130pm as it takes about 15mins
to get there.....he says OK
Well I arrived BACK here at 223pm as the place was PACKED
but thank GOD I know a lot of the girls and the Pharmacist
so when they saw me waiting they rushed mine through
I walked up stairs to be greeted with Gil YELLING "Where have you been"
standing in his tee shirt no depends pants on they were on the bathroom
floor FULL ,and it was all over the toilet seat and floor Mad headbanger
AGAIN told him I was only gone less than an hour and 1/2 that was
:driver:
Anyway cleaned him and the bathroom up while he was moaning
about me giving him  the Banana etc etc

Marge no he wants to go just when he tried he was constipated
so it went on and on I guess all the Miralax and things I was feeding
him to loosen him up have now OPENED the FLOOD GATES
Anyway he says now he is not eating ANYTHING confused2

Onto nicer things well sort of ,coming back the "FOG"  started to
come down again ,Spencer called me from work saying it was
THICK there also ,then when it rains it clears ,but we have been
told round two will begin around 4pm of the severe weather that
has been slamming the mid States ,so many awful tornado's

Glad you were not sick Vicky ,I am sure you will LOVE the carpet
as to  told you her middle name is "BIG SISTER"
remember Big Brother from back in the 50's

Excitement your side then Marge have not seen the news yet
talktohand do not remind me of syrup of FIGS Mad Mad  YUCK
every week I was given it YUCK !!!!!!!

Ok now its calmer here I shall away
Never heard of what you have Vicky  but you can KEEP it run

At last .....was just going to post when they arrived,  why is it when the carpets down you're thinking "Was that the one I ordered?"   I'm still looking at it ....looks good....but I'm still "Is it?"  David says it is so.....it must be.

Oh poor Rob having to go through that and then be turned away....same with me when they said "Oh can't do it you might have a Stroke"  it's health and safety gone mad.  It's not fun going through all that to be told "Can't have it done"  headbanger

Poor poor you Carole as well going through all that with Gil.   .

Well Carole this bug can develop into an ulcer .....Susan said lots of people have this bug and they have no idea.....and not to worry about it, though hey do I ever worry  confused2

telephone  "I saw your carpet being delivered"   Shocked  how does she do it?   then she asked about Benjie, where had we put him while the carpet was being layed.....I just happen to mention the furniture being moved  affraid  "The furniture was moved?" I nearly said "No they just cut holes round the legs of the furniture"    cheers

bounce  Ohhhh Margaret our Chief Reporter.....  though   It's a wonder you didn't spot  with her note book and pencil at the ready Margaret

It now seems that the whole South Bay will be disrupted
because they have had to close the two intersections on
either side of the scene and it looks like its going to be
a long day because even if the guy comes out of the
stolen car they will be investigating the rest of the day.
We have Helicopters flying over head.
I think they are using our local Torrance airport to
refuel. The hijack took place over on the other side
of LA and went on for over an hour going through
many different police jurisdictions finally being stopped
just short of Torrance boundary by the Redondo Beach
Police.

Carole, I wonder if Gill has lost the feeling that he needs
to go or if he does not want to answer the call of nature
when it happens.
Its a pity they don't have syrup of figs here!
Or did you get a dose of Castor Oil like I did as a kid
once a week. tongue tongue tongue

sunny is out once again but on the cool side still so
cardigans needed.
I will be at home all day sorting paperwork.
I do need to call the service place as one of the door
locks is not working on Big Red, right now it won't
even latch! I might be able to get it in if I take the back
streets and while its there they can fix the wonky head-
light and the left turn signal which won't blink.
It turned over OK when I started it yesterday and
ran it for a while but with just a few unusual noises
when it first started but went away after it warmed up.
(I have tried some 3 in 1 oil in the key hole but its the
latch part lower down that is stuck.)
I think its time for a mid morning cup of Coffee and a
biscuit. TTFN

Just wanted to let you know we had one of LAs
infamous police chases which has just stopped only
a mile down Pacific Coast Highway from here.
The suspect is in the hijacked car refusing to
come out, be back in little while.
