littleBlond  of it is Bond.....flutters eyelashes.

Well she's very confused, and I thought at first she didn't know who I was but it was just couldn't say my name. Though  I said to her "Have you been having any wine at night?"  (they had said she could) and she said "No" I said "So Cliff's not been giving you one?" and she said "Don't be personal" and it came out so clear and it was so Sylvia that I laughed out loud,  the lady in the next bed to her her Granddaughter was visiting her and was helping her with her tea, anyway the Granddaughter said "I'm off are you sure you can manage that drink?" obviously the old lady said she could and after a few minutes she'd drank it but she couldn't manage to put the beaker, with a lid and spout,  onto her table and it looked as if she was going to drop it onto the floor so I went round Sylvia's bed to take it off the old lady and put it onto the table, after I'd done that the old lady said to me "Is that the front door?" no love you're in hospital I said, she looked at me and said "I'm sure that was the front door I'll see who it is" and started to get out of the bed  "No it's not the front door, you stay there.... ok?" she lay back again...."Phew!!!"   The sister was there but behind her desk finishing notes and not really watching.....  Today I cried seeing Sylvia like that, it was so so sad..

Sorry Bev  telephone  & then    telephone

Sorry Spencer now not liking his job so much wearing him out as they do.

Yes Margaret that husband in "Home Fires" is one nasty pig.

Hi Bond......hope my buns came up perfect.....Oh yes here's the bottle greens.
Later......

Hello Marge and thanks for the compliment
its such a different lay out to our old house
and of course for the last two years its been
ALL ME and not "US" as it used to always be
,if you look close I think you might see about four
Gnomes around the "rock" so tell yours to hop
over any time as long as they clean up after themselves
funnytvprog

I am going to put my feet up before having to cook dinner

Spencer will be glad to get home me thinks as he was up
in the shower at 4am today instead of 440am ,he
did his own cars brakes a few weeks ago but says he has
heard the last couple of days a noise ,so being as he cannot
do it on "company" time he had to go in earlier in order to
suss out what the noise was ,I am hoping it was something easy
as yesterday he came home KNACKERED said he had not stopped
from 7am until he left at 5pm and Louie who is still working his new job
third shift was not giving him a hand sitting in the office Sleep when
he did not have an emissions test to do confused2
Spencer said he always LOVED going into work ,until now talktohand

Well, another lovely morning from the left coast.
The fog crept in last night so the humidity went
up but it is back down again now to 42% which
is more comfortable.

I found that Sunday's episode of Home Fires,
particularly the bit about the bully of a husband
who was a would be writer, awakened some anxiety
in me, as that was so like my father.
I was more shook up than I could deal with yesterday
but am over it now. Its only a play!
So its onward and upward today.
Think I will prepare Bobs papers to be mailed back to him
today then I can go to the post office and buy a postal box
to put them in with a note saying how sorry I am to have
taken so long. That will be another "Must Do " thing off
my list.
I also took care of all the trash containers and recycles
yesterday and the big bins are still good for another week.

Carole, your new garden looks like a fairytale clearing in a
forest. All my fairies like it anyway.
The gnomes keep looking for a place to play cards and smoke
their cigars!

The War-Birds left yesterday and it was biggest first and the P51
brought up the rear. I thought they left on Sunday but they must
have been giving sunset rides over the ocean.

I had to laugh yesterday while looking at the transcription of one
of the UK census records as my fraternal grandfathers place of birth
was transcribed as "Stilton-on Dunsmore"! I believe it was meant to
be Stretton-on Dunsmore. they even wrote "Nr. Rugby" on the census.
One look at a map would have given them a clue.
Anyway, I found there is an outfit that has been cataloging all the graves
in London Road Cemetary and actually taken photos of each grave stone.
I found my fathers stone and found it was true that he married again
in 1966 to a woman named Ward (we all thought it was a joke marrying
someone with the same surname as him) but it turned out to be true.
I wrote to the friends of LRC as I know I have at least five relatives
buried there. One is a male child who died at the age of 12 who I only
know as "Buddy". He was my dads older brother. Wish I could find his birth
record. the only clue I have is that on the 1911 census he was 1 month
old and not yet named. This means some serious digging in the birth
records. I love playing detective!
Must away and get back on the treadmill. TTFN

Wow Bond £12.99 ea or TWO for £15.00
that is a no brainier...what color did you get
And yes you always get some dead "wood"
but depending on the type you cannot cut it
down after  blooming as that is what the new
growth grows back on ,I had one of each at the other
house ,one I just left and the new leaves all came
back on that "dead" looking stuff ,the other I cut way
back and it came up from the ground up ....
The one in my Avatar is left alone ,have no idea what
its growing IN though as there is about 2" of soil where
the shed is standing

Well P/T nurse was Mr Bourne's praises today
she had him do the stairs and then standing exercises
by the washingup ,oh and we were almost coordinated
as far as his BP she got 140/70 so all is good in THAT
dept for now ,one last visit on Thursday and that will be it

I see Marge and Vicky logged in so will exit >>>>>>>

Ahh there you are Vicky Oh the next of kin DO have
a say Vicky ,I was given a choice of three or four rehabs
and the hospital called to see who had a free bed and then
came and told me the Jewish Center had one ,I never went
to see them as Fran my hairdresser had also told me that
the four I chose where good ,I hope he does not drag his
feet ...if you know what I mean
Fancy her having another stroke and no one saying

Gilly's BP is way back down this morning 146/77 have no idea
WHY it was so high over the weekend confused2

His problem is ALSO under control now as he has been
almost every day since last Wednesday ....giving him a cap full
of Miralax every morning and he gets two Senakot pills at night
and BINGO magic combo .....

Waiting on the P/T nurse now so I can go to the store

I shall return later run wonder why Vicky has all those
prong marks in her bum

Hi Vicky sorry it has given you a lovely red glow, my dad and a very good friend went into Myton at Leamington Spa, we found it lovely as such a place could be, this time of year they could open the glazed doors or you could set out and watch the the nature in the gardens

Morning Gang.......and it's looking not bad out there, blues sky cotton wool clouds.

Oh Margaret  fancy being treated like that by your FIL, I know just how you must have felt, it was my MIL who thought that way about David after all I was just a Shop Girl and worse than that I came from the North.   Why can't they just want their child to be happy and if this person makes them happy then so be it.....be happy for them.

Oh Sorry Carole .....Cliff said "HE" confused2  is going to look around at the various Hospice's decide which one he wants Sylvia to be put in, visit that hospice and then tell the hospital which one AND WHEN A BED BECOMES AVAILABLE SHE'LL BE MOVED THERE.  I never knew the next of kin chose.  So she won't be moved yet unless he sees one he likes which has a free room.  I don't get it.    Oh yes they've NOW admitted she had a second stroke.  Shocked  I thought she had, Cliff thought she had because she went backwards, why say they didn't think she had?

Oh well I'm going to see her again today......Ouch stop sticking that fork into me Bond and no I'll not put my bum near the fire. the things he wants us to do.

Hello again Marge ,Vicky I tried to grab
Bond ,had Him by his ankle but he slipped
through my fingers

Marge lets hope they can locate the part soon
You sound like me on a mission until I can
feel my "gas" running out and then I have to stop

Well the Dr s liaison called me back at 530pm
said Dr wanted to increase the BP medication that
Gil takes now 50mg twice a day to 75mg twice a day
but when I told her after giving him his 2nd dose the reading
was down to 158/73 ,she said let's wait till tomorrow
as the P/T nurse will be out at 10am and can takec the reading
She also said even though the therapist will be signing off she thinks
Dr will want the visiting nurse to still come in for a while till his pressure
is stabilized
I do not take Gils either Vicky that often but bought the "cuff" just in case
was surprised mine was so low earlier as its been a,stressful day today
125/75 so guess I am good to go a few more miles funnytvprog

Anyway in bed on my Kindle now having washed my hair and taken my shower
Sleep tight ALL
Pretty avatar Bond

Big Red is still at the service station not because of
any other problem except the gas sensor,
I think they are still trying to track one down.
I will call them later to see if they have heard anything
as I could always try Chris Braun who installed engine
#2 after Peter mangled the first one.

Peters father went blind in one eye from a stroke and he
was just leaving for a weekend trip away and didn't
want to cancel it(he didn't know it was a stroke that did
it).By the time he got into see a Dr. the sight was gone
in that eye permanently. He still insisted on driving his
car but after a few hairy moments had his keys taken
away by Peter. (he went up an off ramp nearly onto the
motorway going the wrong way) luckily he suddenly
realized what he was doing and backed down the ramp.
Peters Dad was in his early 80s at that point.
Can't blame him as he was a pilot for many years and a driving
instructor and then a driving examiner so his eye sight going was the
worst blow he could have had.

I decide to wash the kitchen floor this morning and do a complete
change of litter in the cats boxes. I have done about half so far as I
have to wait for portions to dry before doing more. The worst part is
done now .the rest should be easier.
Then I can go and wash my hair and take a shower after a bite of lunch.

Hi Been nattering on the telephone  to Bev.....then I called Cliff.

Any  going Bond before you go to bed?

Yes Susan once told me the bottom number was the one to watch Carole.....I know when my BP was a bit high but she said "The bottom number is ok"  unlike the other night when it was high even the bottom number was high.      Though I don't take my BP often.

Yes we'll see what the doctor says when he comes to see Gil......I do hope he's got good news.

Right  mug  ta Bond......grab his jim jams Carole before he heads for those stairs.

Well I am also glad you did not say yes
to Almighty Tony Vicky ,what a DUFUS
did he think you were STUPID ,...
I had a feeling they might move her though
even though you said they had two wards
there, as its different the way your looked after
in a Hospice type of hospital they can and do give
you constant attention ,the hallucinations are
more than likely the Morphine

Well I called the Dr's office as Gil's BP was still up
when I took it again at 1pm ,it had been in the 140's
but was today and yesterday in the 170's ,but after speaking
to the Dr's nurse she said the lower number ,which was
85 and 79 today was OK and unless the higher number was
into the 190's they are not overly worried

They also had the results back on the Artery scan in his neck
I cannot spell the name right ,the left side has a small amount
of plaque ,but they had not gotten the Echo scan back yet
and the X-Ray on his neck showed nothing out of the ordinary confused2

Will know more when the Dr comes back out to see Gil
on May 10th

There is nothing wrong with his appetite as he just ate ALL his dinner

After eating and giving him his other BP pill that he has to take
twice a day ,his BP was down to 158/73

Bond getting warm out there L & L's please

Marge hows Big Red ?

Bond must have taken the picture of his blossoms before they
got BLOWN AWAY Vicky

Hi Gang......well Sylvia's being moved into a room of her own, not sure if it's a room off one of the Stroke wards or to a hospice, I gave her her tablets while Cliff was talking to the Sister in Sisters office then he came back ages later to inform Sylvia that she was going to be moved, she asked where and he said "Just a room, a sort of half way house, you'll get more peace at night and they'll be able to give you round the clock medication to take the pain away"    I'll have to telephone  Cliff tonight to find out where she's gone/going.

She was very tearful today and also hallucinating.

Though when I got home I checked to see who had called  telephone and  it was Tony so I called him back "I came round to your house today and nobody answered" I said well they wouldn't have seeing we'd gone out "BUT your old mans car was on the drive"  well it would be we went out in my car  "Oh never thought of that"  Shocked  he then went on how he was upset because I hadn't told him about Sylvia,  I asked what he meant and he said he'd heard today that the cancer had spread into her eyes and they'd removed her eyes....Oh I was livid "Where did you hear such rubbish?" he said a woman who knew a woman who worked at the hospital told him "Well you can flaming well tell her she's talking rubbish"  he went on that maybe Cliff hadn't told me....I said "Told me... I was with with Sylvia today and though her eye sight isn't very good she's certain NOT had her eyes removed and you can tell who ever it was that they can just un-do the rumor
THEY are spreading about"  he said "Are you sure?"   it's a good job David didn't take my blood pressure ....oh wow was I mad, "I was with Sylvia today and talking to her close up I know for a fact she's still got her eyes"    then he went on "What can we do for her what can we do?"  WE can't do anything the hospital is doing everything ....then he said "Do you not think she might not want visitors the way she is"   I could of screamed.   I'm still angry.     He said could he come round and talk face to face and I said "No there's nothing to talk about" he seemed to be shocked at my saying "No" but there's nothing for us to talk face to face about.....and oh boy if we had been face to face he would have known about it.   AND then to say maybe Cliff hadn't told me.   Shocked  and what were we going to do about Sylvia   Mad    I am still angry.

It's lovely blossom Bond you're lucky you've still got the blossom, ours has been blown off by wind &    Sad     In the paper they've got photos of beautiful bluebells,  Hartshill Hayes of course and Elkin Woods in Coventry and Cawston Woods in Rugby.

Be careful you don't do your back in Carole.

Hi all, nice afternoon been for coffee and a G&T,
Yes I wasn't really talking about the last one in the show when they would fly someone in from Oz as no every one can hop on a aeroplane more the main part of the show where someone from Scotland hadn't seen someone from Brum in 30 years, maybe the show wouldn't work today with Skype and Facebook

There are some people you can be up front with and still be friends
after the dust has cleared and some who won't.

Well, the big War-Birds have flown away for another year.

Torrance has one of the few Armed Forces Parades left.
In the month of May they celebrate Armed Forces Day.
Its to salute the five services, Army, Navy, Air Force,
Marines and Coast Guard currently serving.
Then we have Memorial Day at the end of the month
to remember those who gave their lives fighting for the US.
Torrance has many companies who do manufacturing
for the military so quite patriotic.

It sounds as if next door are having new hardwood floors laid
as they are still here today and Ben and Lindsey have been gone
all week (they do have a house sitter though).
It has to be the whole house the amount of time its taking.

Another fine day here but it is hotter than I like. At least the
wind has stopped here but has caused a few brush fires out in
rural communities on the outskirts of LA.
Watched Call the Midwife and Home fires last night again.
Both so well researched and well written.
I am also watching George Gently reruns on late at night
(I record them).
Better get on my bike here before the phone starts ringing
again. TTFN

White Rabbits X3 ,,,ahhh that brings back memories
of my dear Mum NEVER failed to say that to me while
growing up ..

No bad weather here ,going to be a good day till Thursday
even though we will have a brief system passing over us DURING
the NIGHT many a bit of THUNDER they are saying ,but no HEAVY
till Thursday night into friday when we could FLOAT a boat
Glad Wednesday will be dry and warmish in the 60's so the hair will stay
dry

OK so its no Bev to see Sylvia ,guess they will have to sort THAT mess
out when its THEIR time Rolling Eyes

Anyway not much for me to do today except give Gil a shower
no one coming till tomorrow ,may even get the 4x4 washed as
I have a free wash pass left {I know the owner of a "hand wash" place}
near the store I go to ,and last year while I was having it done a wire
stand fell on my truck making a 3" mark on the bottom near the passenger door
He said to take it and get it fixed and he would pay for it ,but have not been able
to go any where with Gil and could not leave the car as I needed it,so when
I saw Francis the other week he asked what happened and gave me a handful
of free wash passes ,,

Enjoy your visit Vicky ...you and I should BOTH be authors as I have
ALWAYS been told that as well lol!

Bond do you have a ZOOM on your cell or camera ,or were you up
your ladder to take your Avatar confused1

Back later

MORNING MARGE

Well another wet bank holiday, so what are we going to do today?
Not I this case but but some I think back to the old Cilla Black show were they bring in friends and family that they haven't seen for 50 years and it's all floods of tears and hugs, well I think if they really wanted to see them that bad why didn't you they? The world has become alot smaller place and people can get about easier so why wait for Cilla or in this case Vicky is to do it for them when now it may be too late
I can see me getting earache from that but it is what I think
soapbox Stand back I'll jump down help will somebody get the ladder please

Hey Carole stop doing too much.....slow down.

Thanks for that Margaret.....what Bev was saying was she wanted to see Sylvia (her second cousin)  while she was still Sylvia but she also said she didn't want to upset Sylvia, Bev just asked me to test the waters, I know Bev was hoping Sylvia would come round,  but Sylivia is a very difficult person to get through to and to have her mind changed.....it says it all when close neighbours have never been to see her and her best friend Linda has only been to see her once,  I couldn't just stand there and listen to Bev being abused I'd have to walk away with her,  and to top it it wasn't Bev & Sylvia who had the row it was Bev & me, though it was Sylvia who lite the touch paper, and all because of money, the pub kitty, we would  divide it into 3, then Bev started having a more expensive soft drink and a larger lunch, Sylvia phoned me up this night and said Bev was taking the P she was taking more out than what she was putting in and we, her & me, were losing out,  which was true, so when it was divide up, by me, I didn't give Bev a third of the money, she still got more than she was putting in and Sylvia & me less but Bev couldn't see it and she went mad, her & I had a row, Sylvia went off and had a cigarette, we were in the car park by this time, so Bev & I had a real bust up and she said "Ok I'll stop coming" and I said "Fine" and that was that for ages, until one of us Bev or me and I can't remember who it was phoned the other one up, and we became friends again.....Sylvia hated it, said things about Bev which to be honest some of it was true, but you're friends with someone warts and all and Sylvia couldn't understand that......funny thing is Sylvia and I divide the kitty up so we both (or we used to) have £50 each but Sylvia now takes more out than she puts in.  Just what she accused Bev of doing and got ME to act on it..

Cliff told Bev he wanted to go to Bev's wedding but Sylvia wouldn't hear of it, I know Sylvia said she was disgusted at me going and went on "I'll not lower myself into going"

I just want everyone to be friendly before it's too late.

Anyway thanks everyone for your advice.

Speak tomorrow guys.

Hi all Marge I did think of you last night, the group sang one of their own "soldiers of the sky" lights in the sky as the warbirds fly by, about the death of pilots
Well I guessed you it was and got most of it right, I just thought the masked man was the solicitor
I'll get the tea Marg

I think that Bev should not go and see Sylvia unless
she understands what might happen.
I know she wants to make peace with her but I don't
think that will happen. To put herself in the position of having
Sylvia be able to put the knife in once more probably for
the last time will be a strain on both of them.

I think that maybe Bev wants to go to finally be able to
close the door on all the abuse Sylvia gave her which
if she is up to it can be a good thing.

My FIL used to round on me for no reason so I used to just
turn and walk away.
When Melanie was over in the UK for Ian's wedding we all
did the dutiful visit to the nursing home where he was living
in Devon, (he had lost most of his sight by then).
I stayed back and never said a word the whole visit, I could not think of
anything positive to say and worried that if I did say anything it would
set him off.
He just never got over the fact that he felt his son married beneath him.

I was aware that being a commander of an airbase meant he was used to
squaddies being called on the carpet and giving them a dressing down
and they had to stand there and take it until they were dismissed.
I was not one of his squaddies, I would just leave his presence and he
carried on shouting in an empty room.It frustrated the H**L out of him!
I told Peter, I grew up with a bully and I was not going to take it from
any other man. Both fathers gave up the right to be respected.

I have taken great pleasure in listening to the War-birds come and go from
the airfield this weekend, I got nearly 40 "likes" on my comment on FB
group "You must be from Torrance if......"
There goes the P51 again.
Had a lazy morning after a merry evening with Lorna on her patio.
It was warm enough to sit outside without a coat. Glasses of wine
were drunk and consumed with crackers and a variety of cheeses.
I now have enough chicken meat to make lunch every day for
a week! Stripped all the meat off the bones when it cooled off
enough(it was fresh and hot when I bought it).
Got a few chores to do but its all light stuff (lightbulbs are involved
in a couple of them). A couple are on the computer and some are
filing.
I need another mug of tea. TTFN

When Susan goes to Ireland to see her friend Anne the number of times....at the airport she was told "Welcome home" , on the bus looking at her case "You been somewhere nice?" on being told she's visiting her friend it was "So where do you live, you've lost your accent" they thought she was Irish. Smile

Hi all, I think sorry not to take Bev, as much as it's good for Bev you don't want to throw Sylvia into a paddy and bring on another stroke
Marge you have the casting vote

 Oh well done Gil.

Oh please Bond to the scone.  .....I'll have it while doing the dinner.

Shocked  fall all over each other.......she didn't fall all over her son.   Mad   Sylvia's got such a cutting tongue.  No take that as "She can be a really nasty person"   she'll go mad and we will be asked to leave for upsetting their patient. confused2    Ok I'm taking votes.   Susan says take Bev, Carole says take Bev,  David says not to take Bev.   2-1 in favour of taking Bev.   Margaret, Bond?

Well I don't know I come in and
you guys all leave again ...

That might be the reason Vicky getting all in a tiz was
over Sylvia and Bev , but your daughter has a valid point
so just DO IT ,you cannot be everyone's Champion and Bev
will feel better for having seen her cousin alive rather than
in a pine box ,who knows maybe they will fall all over each other
confused2

OK just thought I would acknowledge I saw you there

Back later run run run

Ok so where is you all confused2
Been out on the deck and straightened it all
out until I see what other patio set I want
the old table and chairs will be there ,Buddy sits
UNDER the table when it funnytvprog
he is not stupid ...
Emptied all my deck planters ready for me to go buy
NEW ones,like Geraniums,Petunia and Pansy's as if
we get any late frosty mornings they are all hardy
and can handle it ....

Then I went up to the "Food Emporium" shopper
store which is exactly a 4min drive from our house
I would shop more there except they cater to a LOT
of Jamaicans Asian South American customers and
the place gets SWAMPED with them pushing their over
loaded shopper around ,so I only go if I need
a couple of items ,so picked up a cabbage and a gal of moo
and some Marinade that I want to put some beef tips
into for later in the week ..

When I first started the sunny was out ,but the cloud have
come over as the weatherman warned and we could get a very brief
shower ,but nothing major ,that comes later in the week Thursday
night into Friday when they say we could get a good soaking of up to 2"

Everyone is talking about how great their lawns look compared
to what we have had three years in a row from lack of
so I am not complaining

Blaine up and off out he is going down the park to drink his
Spencer just up and in the shower

I have put a Corned beef in the oven for a change instead of boiling it

Gil watching Arsenal vs Spurs
while scratching his cards ,oh and Vicky yesterday he said he
was going to do his exercises but being so hot it was silly so I said
why not do your sitting ones raising his knees while sitting on the sofa
then raising his arms up above his head and then side to side
So he did 20 reps of them ......

I shall be back run run run

Hi Gang......went to Cov to the Range to get Benjie some hard toys to chew on. Doggies teething ringS, he had these before and they've lasted him ages so got another set (3 teething rings together) and a couple more toys. Went to M&S had a cuppa and some BLT sarnies. Looked around Mad nothing which grabbed me.

I was talking on the telephone to Susan about my BP she said it could be something on my mind, I told her about Sylvia & Bev she said "Don't worry about them.....invite Bev to go with you the next time you go to see Sylvia" I told her I know she'll have a go at Bev and BOTH will get upset she said "Mum you can't be the go between, if Sylvia has a go at Bev then both of you walk out" I said "Both then Sylvia will be upset" she said "Then she's upset, if she attacks someone she can't expect them to sit and take it, it's a wonder Craig didn't walk out" I know she has a point..... scream!!

And Bond didn't help getting up to .....what he got up to I bluish every time I think about it.

Yes I've checked my BP earlier and it was fine. confused2

Mmm just fancy a strawberry jam sarnie Carole..
