189/109 Vicky quite the OPPOSITE
of your BP being LOW as THAT my love IS on the HIGH
side nono
Was it you thinking about what Bond was UP to ????
Anyway check it again today to make sure even if your
feeling a bit better .....standing out in a wind is
not a good idea for ANYONE I am sure Matthew will
understand

Yes strange about Buddy and he was not out long not even
an hour and I went to the back door and he was there meowing
asking to come in WITH OUT me him

Well I think I am going onto the deck to sort out the chairs etc
Told Gil I am going to get Danny to cart away what we have as
they are quite old and buy a small Bistro set as we rarely sit out there
any way its ALL for LOOKS these days ,and will be less for me to
have to cover in the Winter months Rolling Eyes

OK Vicky I have some LOVELY Strawberry Jam for that
Do you know we hit 85f yesterday ...I shall return

Morning...... & please Bond.

Looking nice out there......though they we're saying it might this afternoon confused2 it's anyones guess.

Glad you had a good time last night Bond be it the potting shed, behind the potting shed or the bike shed or watching the band.

Last night I wasn't very well, thought my BP had dropped, David went and got the kit, but not so it was 189 over 109. Shocked I feel fine now though. very odd.....I blame who ever was in that potting shed.

Was going to watch Matthew today, last game, but it's such a long way away and standing in the wind might not be a idea. Oh I don't know.

Fancy that about Buddy and the tabby cat.

Ok later.

Morning Bond ,MY what a difference a day makes
went to bed sweating to death with all the fan fan
going as its a bit early to put the A/C's in the windows
and we awoke to LOVELY FRESH AIR we here in
Bridgeport are at probably our HIGH for the day at 57f
Such a RED sky as well as the sunny rises in the East

I fancy a bagel and cream cheese please Bond with my
if you can manage it ...

No potting shed he says ,but it was SURE ROCKING AND ROLLING
last night

I was GOING to have a lay in today till Mr Buddy started MEOWING
O U T .....saw why as well another cat on the side of the house and the
funny thing is he did not fight it like he does a black cat that is around at times
and I am wondering if its because this one was a Tabby like Tabitha as he
does not fight her really they swat at each other when she pushes him too
far ....ah well better get on think I will clear my deck today

Saw on FB as I mentioned the weather that its the same all over not just
the country but World ,a mate in Spain said they had their hottest temps
one day last week 30+C only to drop into the 14c's ,and another friend
in Chicago said they were expecting SNOW today Shocked CRAZY WEATHER

Any who GOOD MORNING VICKY >>>>MARGE and if you LOOK in again
Sir G good morning to you also jocolor

Sorry about the upset tummy Marge ,I also
had a touch after I came home ,but going now
So will be taking my shower and relax as I am KNACKERED
talktohand I know I Know I should not have done BOTH
things today but done now

Poor Bev can we say that as she must know WHY her cousin
does not want her to visit ,glad her son was able to get there
but a shame she was going on to him ,as you say Marge she
better have her pencil at the ready when she arrives at those
"gates"
So they are giving her Morphine ,that will calm her down
I HATE that though as they gave me a shot when I had a Kidney stone
flare up ,I said NO more as it felt like someone had karate chopped
the back of my neck Mad weirdest feeling
I am assuming that is what they put up inside my Nan in the way
of a suppository.....

OK OK BOND are you being picked on Rolling Eyes ....
nice job on the bench though

I REALLY should redo ours as when we moved over here 3 yrs ago
the wood was all varnished and Gil had painted the iron work almost
the same color as what you have done the wood on yours only a bit
lighter as it matched the window shutters on the old house ,but being
out in the elements its starting to wear ,I REALLY MISS Gil for things like
this that he did around the house and garden

Anyway MAY THE FEELING OF PEACE REIGN SUBLIME

Back later if I am able 76f right now

Well gang had an upset tummy at 5am and am still
recovering. Just had a cup of tea and will have some
toast in a minute. Cannot pinpoint what caused it.
I think I will be recovered enough later to run to the
store and get some more canned cat food but for now
I just want to rest.

The War birds are a B25, a B17 and a P51 mustang.
One has flown in this morning but the others
I am sure came in yesterday.

Its so sad when someone like Sylvia won't let go of old
grudges. She is not the only person I have known who
behaved like her during her lifetime and about who I
said that they will have a lot of explaining to do to St. Peter
before being admitted through the pearly gates.

Think I will go and have some toast now to settle the old tum.

he always tells me after the event.......but anyway been to see Sylvia,, Craig, her son who she's not spoken to for 20 years, was there. nice guy but oh boy if she hadn't been poorly there would of been sparks, I can't blame him for not speaking to her, the nasty things she was saying about him and to him.....I felt for him. you could tell he was hoping I, a stranger, knew the truth, he was muttering the truth under his breath  "I do care for my daughter"  "I have been a good son or tried"  "No mother that's not true"  Then she cried she wouldn't see Craig again  Mad  though I was there an hour and then she wanted a cigarette (they'd only just got back to the ward after a cigarette when I got there)  the sister came and said Sylvia can have a drink of wine at night only, not during the day, so Sylvia was "Right I'll have a fag and a drink"  didn't like it when Cliff said "Not until tonight"   they gave her morphine last night.

I asked if she would do me a big big favour ....she said "What is it first?"  I repeated  "Will you just do me a big favour?" she said not until she knew what it was..... Shocked  "That's not the answer Sylvia you're supposed to say anything for you"  she said "Tell me what it is first"  I said "Will you let Bev come and see you?" NO she shouted...."Why?" I asked "I don't like the woman don't like her lifestyle" I asked what was wrong with her lifestyle? Sylvia said   you can't trust her, i said that was silly, Bev was worried about her, asked about her every night (it's not every night but still)  but she got angry so I had to let it drop.     Bev is going to be so upset, I'll not be able to tell her Craig's been. Mad

George Eliot didn't write a book with "Farm" in the title Bond....blows on her finger nails .....right on the line and he couldn't reach it never mind return.....those poor old legs.  bounce    Thank you my coach Carole.   Smile

I'll give it to you that you've done a good job with the chair Bond.

We are off out in a bit to a local folk group, take your own drinks and nibbles, I do like a live band talking of live bands we are going to see a small faces tribute show next Saturday at the Belgrade, going on the bus with the bus pass, meal out, see the show and bus ride home so a cheap day out
Its not been bad out I've clean the car (sorry David) and finishes off my cast iron garden seat with its new slats and nice gloss paint
So time for a brew,

Bond talktohand think you better DROP the
SUBJECT as this was what "somebody" said way back
not that they had never heard of a book by her with a farm
in the title

Something something farm by George Eliot? I can't think of a book by her with Farm in the title ....are you sure it's by her Bond?

Been out and mowed the back grass ,its really looking good this year
with all the we have had inbetween the warm temps and sunny
Got most of the dead leaves from a couple of corners so all I have to do now is
sort out the deck √

On that ♪ I shall love you and leave you before Vicky comes in and
your latest comments run run run run run

MORNING MARGE watch out for duck

You know when you watch a tennis match,
head swings one way then the other ,well that
has been you two funnytvprog
two Love- set game to Miss Vicky cheers

Bond warned you about that type correct thing
on your cell telephone ,one reason I ALWAYS
check what I have BEFORE I post it nono

Well I was GOING to mow the grass later this morning
but its starting to rain ,they say it should only be a
shower and will end around 10am but the grass will probably
be too wet ,I shall see ,other wise I will do it tomorrow
and do my shopper today instead of tomorrow
Its certainly NOT cold today 62f as I sit here at almost 6am
in fact ,had the fan fan going ALL night ,and getting up
close to 80f they are saying ,but tomorrow we take that roller
coaster DIP as the high will only be around 50f

Anyway Buddy and I are watching TV commercials for a "TUMMY TUCK"
item on TV before regular programs begin at 6am

Gil may be doing his exercises but his BRAIN and SPEECH are getting worse
he even said it last night cannot get out what he wants to say ,and calls
items 'things' confused2 another stage of what this Corticobasil affects

OK so waiting on your latest report then Vicky
will you be going after Laura leaves ?

Bond you can come out now

Fountain of a knowledge I am not Bond, just some things I like to read about and it comes in sometimes. I answer quiz questions and David says "You should go in for that" HA it's one thing to answer when you're in your home another thing when you're under the hot lights with a quiz master saying "Are you ready?" affraid Noooo run run run run

Oh the Cottage where she wrote Middlemarch came up for sale a year or so ago....it's in Surrey, she was living there with her married lover George Henry Lewes, they were waiting for their London home to be fixed up.

I better not have anymore tea Bond.....

Oh Laura is here but upstairs.....made her breakfast jam & orange juice.

Later.

If you had just started and ended with you'd gone to have a meal at "Middlemarch"  named after the George Eliot book you Bond would have been on safe ground BUT  nono  you went on Quote "Middle March farm, it's it were she lived" end of Quote... I said she was born at South Farm on the Arbouy Estate and then when a baby moved to Griff House.  so she NEVER lived at a place called "Middle March Farm"  in fact Middlemarch was the fictional town.    And no Bond I doubt she ever was admitted to Felix Holt ward either.   tongue

Grey here......I'll be going to visit Sylvia later.

Yeah go on I'll have another cup please.

Oh too true Carole Smile

Oh you wimp Bond.....  fight fight.     Smile

South Farm was where she was born on the Arbury Hall estate and that's never been the Wacky Warehouse.....that building isn't that old.  confused2   anyway South Farm is only visited if you are on a George Eliot Country Tour  and the Agent shows you around.

OH Oh STAND back looks like Vicky is
going to Bond
Vicky you remember how these "men" have
to get their facts straight as we BOTH have
LONG memories , be warned do not
say anything that ou do not want us to remember
or that is not quite true

Yes he mentioned about going to see Tracie
Vicky ,but we ALL know {well maybe not Tracie}
that THAT will never happen as I cannot or do not want
to go down to Florida and again who would watch Buddy now
plus if Gil went on his own with Tracie even for a visit
she would have a hard time taking care of him as I
have to shower him and help him use the
and the "jug" when he has to go nono
Even her brother said how would she get him on and off
the ,its not as easy as some people THINK '
So I know he likes the drive to Seaside Park watching the sea
and people passing by ,and that even though its a job I can handle
right now

Well made Gil 4 1/2's of grilled cheese ,and he INHALED them
so guess he liked them ,good job I have some Raspberry sandwich
cookies for his eating pleasure later with a

Anyway going to take MY shower now so speak tomorrow

Are you saying South Farm became "Wacky Warehouse" ? I'm confused Bond..

We've been for family meals at the Griff House as well Margaret.got a lovely photo of us all but the Witch is on it.   When George Eliot was 13 to 16 she went to school in Cov and she moved to Foleshill when she was older.   Interesting person.....

Oh no you've been sleeping funny. ....ouch Carole.

I'm sure he doesn't want to slip back to how he was.....say "Come on babe just a few not for me but for yourself you don't want to slip backwards"     that's good him wanting to go out

I am back, took a nap but wished I had not
as I woke with a stiff neck
Anyway its going to be grilled cheese and tomato
sarnies for tonight as its only Gil me and Spencer
IF he is hungry as he will shower and be off to Carmen's

I HOPE then that is what they do Vicky with Sylvia
as you say she is familiar with all there ....

Oh would LOVE to hear the jets coming in Marge
we have or USED to have a free admittance to view
two of the WW11 bombers that have been restored
in Stratford at Sikorsky Airport ,and being as we only lived
about 4 miles from the airport they would come in LOW
over our house ,I did catch a picture years ago of one
talktohand  do not ask WHERE it is though ..
As to bribing Gil with    candy    I REALLY
appreciate the offer dear friend ,but I think he will do some of them
maybe not as often but he will ,the biggest thing is to try and
keep him moving ,she had him doing leg lifts on a kitchen chair
then stood at the kitchen sink exercising his legs ....the ones
the Occupational nurse used to do funnily enough he has been
doing one where he links his hands together and raises his arms
above his head  and back down IN BED during the night when he
maybe woke and could not fall back to sleep as I have caught him
a couple of times and told Muriel about it
Some of what SHE used to do involve raising his "wonky arm"
but she used to hold it so she could FEEL the tension as it moved
something I am not trained to do  confused2
But being as the good weather is coming I have promised him I
will take him to Seaside Park a few days for lunch and a run out
to "AIR HIM OUT"  funnytvprog

Unfortunately we only get so many weeks of Therapy with
our Insurance ,at least we get SOME ...

Marge hows Barry doing ?

BOND all this food your eating will have you doing a LOT of exercises
as cannot see that Speedo fitting else nono

OK so better go get my sarnies ready for the off
back later  run

Hi yes Wacky Warehouse is why it used to be but the bid play area is now part of the restaurant
Yes we were saying the lads said they played in the Area as kids and it would of been part of or next to the Arbury Estate, I know the road at the side of Griff House leads to Arbury Hall, when you go down Griff towards the Bedworth bypass you go over a big bump in the roar and that's a arm of the canal that goes under the road and used to go to Arbury to deliver coal and I think take coal from the the local opencast mine I am the area
It s still cold here I think it's drin ks time

Been to Griff House with my sister and her husband
on many occasions when visiting them.
She and her father attended Holy Trinity many
times when they lived in Cov. (George Elliot)

Long conversation with Ian, catching up with
what is going on in each others lives.
Short and sweet, we are both doing fine at
the moment.
We did talk for a long time but mainly it was
catching up on what's been happening since
we last talked.

He saw the add for the Warbirds coming in
at Torrance Airport this weekend.
Should hear them coming in later this afternoon.
I love the sound of those big piston engines!
Now I am a member in good standing I could go
down to the Museum and see them close up as they
are giving rides (at $300 a pop to cover the cost of
the fuel.) I think I would rather watch them fly in.
Other classic plane owners tend to bring in their
aircraft for static display so a lot to see.
Its finding a parking place that's the hard part.

Carole is there anything you can bribe Gil with like
his favorite UK sweeties? because I can send you something
if that's what it takes to get him to carry on doing his
exercises. I know he has his scratchers but sometime
candy is quicker. Pam has all kinds of stuff at her
British Import shop.
Its just a suggestion. confused2

The workmen are still working next door, they might
be doing fine work like crown molding or base boards.
It sounds like they are just cutting small items to fit
somewhere.
The noise from the small electric saw is not all the time
and not loud enough to be really annoying.
It feels like its going to be a warm day here and the
wind is still blowing so need to open the windows
and let the fresh air in. TTFN

Oh dear ....ask them for an exercise sheet Carole or he'll end up back to seizing up, sitting in the chair he'll be able to do some exercises won't he?   Though if he tries to move about it'll help  talktohand  I know I know but tell him it's for the best.   Though to just finish him off like that is terrible.  Mad

I'm glad they haven't moved Sylvia, she knows the nurses, is happy around them, they know her, and after all they've got 2 Stroke wards (6 beds in each ward) empty so it's not as they need the beds so I do hope they leave her there.....being happy should, and usually does, come first when they know the patient hasn't long to go.

Tony should but I doubt it.

She was born on the Arbury Hall estate, her father was the estate manager for the Newdigate family, when she was a baby the family moved to Griff House, which is now the pub/restaurant. BTW are you talking about Wacky Warehouse next to McDonalds? Or used to be.

So it's now a Do nothing afternoon, evening

In answer to your ? Vicky, EXACTLY
I will be on my own ,,,,
I guess they will be able to say she is still
recovering from the Stroke then Vicky ,but I am
pretty sure she would have been moved out as
beds are a premium over here and I am sure its
the same over there ...
Hair looks "fine" lady I go Wednesday

I wonder if Tony feels a twinge of guilt with how much
he and Sylvia bondchamps when you went for your
Wednesday chattable

Well carry on with out me as I feel now like a easychair

The sunny IS OUT

Hope Sara is ok Bond.

Something something farm by George Eliot?   I can't think of a book by her with Farm in the title ....are you sure it's by her Bond?

Tony  telephone he's in Scotland at the moment start coming home tomorrow, he'd tried to get Cliff but couldn't, he was asking about Sylvia and it came as a shock, though he said how bad she looked when we took him to the hospital. I expect he'll go and see her when he gets back.

She's used to the nurses Carole and the nurses are used to her, so I think it would upset her to be moved unless it was to go home, and she still has the after affects of the Stroke so to keep her on that ward wouldn't hurt.

talktohand  Heard about that new bug in hospitals Carole.  affraid

What's going to happen when that P/T nurse has finished Carole, are you then left to do it yourself?

Kids came for Rob to pick up.......

Had my hair done this morning

Back later......

please Bond hope what ever Sara
has is not what I had in her throat ,although
as the Dr told me Thyroid cancer is the EASIEST
to take care of and cure ....
Well sounds like Bev is in between a "rock and a hard place"
Funny how some people look when sleeping @ Vicky
you say they are not giving her anything right now as she
is not in pain,so maybe she had had a few
Makes you think with all she has that its a pity the stroke
did not take her,as all it did was uncover all she had UNDERNEATH

Did not think Cliff would somehow want her at home ,does she
know THAT yet ,I am pretty sure they would move her to a Hospice
over here .....watching TV yesterday they are saying there is a
new bug in the hospitals now that can kill you and that people
who have any openings like tubes etc are more prone to getting it
as it finds its way into the body ...HOSPITALS are SUPPOSED to be
SAFE but are not Rolling Eyes

Well its really FOGY here right now and we had MORE rain over night
but its also warm 55f at 545am and there is even a line of THUNDER
and Lightening sliding in off of Long Island Sound ,quite a mixture

OK Spencer gone and Blaine in the shower so back later ,have
only one P/T nurse coming today then two more visits next week
and she will be done .....
MORNING LADIES duster

Been talking telephone   to  Bev, she's having to go through a lot herself at the moment.....her friends husband, who had cancer, died on the 19th and Bev is helping her sort the paper work out etc and try to keep Evette  going and not crumble, so to tell Bev about Sylvia was hard, in fact I nearly didn't but I thought I'd better, but of course she wants to go and see Sylvia while Sylvia is still Sylvia, though I said she had changed a lot (though today when she was asleep she really looked at peace, her skin was really smooth.....which upset me, it was just something about her, and when I saw her later on)  anyway I can understand Bev wanting to go and see her but she doesn't want to upset Sylvia, it's awkward  Mad

They (the hospital) haven't decided what's the best thing for Sylvia,  I know she wants to go home but Cliff is saying he couldn't look after her, he's got to work of course but he could work from home, he'd have a nurse going in 3 times a day, but Cliff's not keen, they could put her in the hospice when is next door to the hospital, or they could just leave her in the ward because she's still suffering from the Stroke.   As to Lena well I'm hoping she comes over.

Right it's night night.......speak tomorrow.

Congrats to the Lead Players.

I had Victoria Sponge when we were out ......yum yum.

Went to see Sylvia but she was Sleep  so I left though went again on the way home  and she was sitting in the chair.....she was ok for a while talking sensibly and then her mind seemed to go for a wander thought she was sitting in her lounge wanted to know where Cliff had put the pouffe shouting "Cliff where's my pouffe to put my feet on?"  I told her he was at work so she said "What's he doing at work?"  earning pennies to give you a good lifstyle ....I replied, I didn't know if I'd said the right thing seeing how things are....but she said "Hope it's a lot of pennies then" and laughed.  Then we had a lot of laughs about silly things .....I was with her 45 minutes,  I said "Well I've got to go and hunt my husband down" she said "You've got him in leg irons haven't you?"  I said "yes but that doesn't stop him wandering off he just walks in a funny way"....and she fell about laughing  so I left her happy.    The nurses are lovely though.....work really hard.

Have to let Bev know yet.

They have said 3 months Margaret, it's spread around her body too much and as you say we're not really surprised the way she smoked & drank.....but as you say people have beaten the odds, but how she is, where it's spread to.....even if Cliff had got her into hospital straight away it still wouldn't have helped, but we never give up.

Oh we saw a really nice kettle.....we need a new kettle ....but David wants to look around still.

Shame about your meeting Margaret, shame that they're those who love going and yet it'll come to an end.

Oh nice roses Carole.

So pop the  on Bond please.

So sad to hear about Sylvia's diagnosis but not
surprising. Its anyone's guess how long she can
survive, many people have beaten the odds.
Unfortunately Peter was not one of them.

I don't know how he felt or how much he knew
about his condition as he would never share
it with me. I think he hid more from me than I
will ever know. Stoic is the word that comes to
mind.
The UK has different rules for Hospice care than here.
Here you must have a definite diagnosis of being
terminally ill and have less than 6 months to live.
Peter was given a week but didn't even get that.

Shared a delicious meal with the group last night,
I had my favorite, Flautus,(?) on a combination plate
with rice and refried beans. they are like mini crisp
deep fried taco shells with meat in them. They are
not as filling as the large version. I had another of
their Cadillac Margaritas which are the best in town.

To night its my meeting and its also business meeting
time as well. I cannot see this group lasting much longer
as there is not the commitment there once was and I
feel like I am enabling them by doing as much as I do
to keep it running. Its not a lot really, I open up and
make sure the room is ready and I am the Literature
Chairman. I lock up at the end and make sure that
no one has car trouble before I leave. (it has happened
on occasion ).
I want to get a resolution before the Sept directory is
printed by LA council. We are still in the one that comes
out in May.

I renewed my subscription to FindMyPast,co.uk for
another year. They have added a new source of
information. The latest UK census available on line
is 1911 (has to be 100 years old so next one will be
in 2021!) but, in 1939 as war seemed to be in the air.
the government thought it should make a register of
everyone and where they were living in case of an
invasion and the 1939 register was born in case
the 1941 census never get done.
It cost me a full years subscription but it has been well
worth it as I learned a few things I did not know before.

My parents got married Jan.18th 1941 just after my mother
turned 21 on Jan.5th. and each was living with their older married
sibling, not at home with their parents!
So it looks like the split with her and her father happened
earlier than I thought(her father was dead set against their
marriage).
My sister confirmed that our Mum got married from a different
address some years ago when we were talking about doing
a family history. Its always been a puzzle as all the rest of
her siblings got married in Holy Trinity Church.
I feel like Sherlock Holmes, the game is a foot!

Getting hotter here but back to normal next week.
(normal being in the 70s!)

Morning......looking grey out there.

Trouble is is smoking & drinking speeding the end up?    There's people alive now who's been told they've only got 4 months left and 5 years later as I say they're alive now....or is it "It's spread" she might as well go out happy.....well not happy but you know what I mean.

Oh well I'll be visiting her today......Cliff's told Lena & Craig.     I'll have to give Cliff the money I've got here, I was going to anyway because I thought "Well we're not going to the pub any day soon, I might as well give her her half and then if she picks up we can start again"   though the way she was I didn't think we would.....not that she'd got cancer, they hadn't found it then, just the way she was.      Oh well I'll visit her today.

Hope you pick up Carole.
