I am back I feel like I am DRAGGING my butt
and Gil was acting very lethargic to me ,so I went
to ask the nurse WHEN they are testing his blood
as I am worried it might be down again ,the nurse said
he was fine had been given a shower this morning
they have one of these walk in showers where the water
goes right on the floor and down a drain and a chair for him to
sit ,she said he also ate breakfast was taken into the cafe
area and sat at a table and read the paper ,then went to therapy
Maybe he was pooped I do not know just know he was more
alert yesterday ,she also said they only test blood Mondays and Fridays
only do it on a weekend if its an ER as the case worker said they do it every three
days and being as he had the last unit of blood Thursday night ,Sunday
would be day three ...
I was glad to get home though as I said feel like I am dragging
and plus this STUPID COUGH is BACK headbanger

White is what Spencer has Bond with black seats etc nice but
he works at it to keep it clean

Anyway I am away and BTW ♪ he's BACKKKKKKK ♪ run run

Very nice.....white is in for nearly all cars at the moment. Susan's car is white....so's The Witch's car.

We're outside my Great Uncles house.....we lived there from when I was a new born until I was two.

Bit late this morning, I woke at 3:45am feeling cold.
Did a little trip to the small room down the hall and
put the down comforter over me and didn't know
a thing until 20 minutes ago!

It sounds encouraging about Gil, Carole.

Yes, Jewish hospitals and nursing homes
do a much better job of caring for the elderly.
We have a large aging Jewish population here
in Los Angeles. There are long waiting lists to
get into the care facilities.
A lot of businesses here were started by Jewish people
and are very successful so they donate or raise
lots of money to keep these nursing homes
running.
The Catholics also are good at fundraising so their
hospital, Providence, Little Company of Mary is
fully funded and their standard of care is better
than the modern Torrance Memorial Hospital .
Both have been able to add new wings and buy
new equipment but the big difference is the quality
of the nursing staff.
That's why we chose LCM as our place for hospital
treatment, not because we are Catholic(we are not).

Just got a call from June down the street, her son Danny
just had a birthday on the 9th but she is throwing a 50th
birthday bash at a bar/restaurant in Redondo Beach on
April fools day. Danny does not know anything about it.

This weekend we "Spring Forward" so must remember
to reset a couple of clocks. The TV, Telephones and
computer are done automatically.
I will leave Black Beauties clock on Pacific Standard Time
as its a complete puzzle to change the clock back and forth.
I do wear a watch all the time so its not as if I don't know what
the real time is!

Looks like I will be having Brunch again today, think I will have
some scrambled egg on toast, I have some ham and tomatoes
and bread for toast. TTFN

Ahhh exactly what happened to Marge and ME Bond
showing post locked ,most weird
Well Buddy woke me at 430am after finding him laying
next to me in Gil's spot so it MUST be cold out as his
cat bed has a canopy and a big fluffy blanket that he can
snuggle into ,guess he wanted some "HUMAN" heat
After I fed him I went back to sleep until 630 when I heard
Spencer in the shower as he gets a little sleep in on the Saturday
he works as the do not open the station until 8am instead of 7am

Looks like he might be having to work every Saturday morning again
as Louie the other emissions tech is looking for a new job and the
State of CT says a Tech HAS to be available during the hours they are open
for anyone wanting to get their car tested confused2
Vicky did you check your "PM" for any left

As I sit here with the sunny  streaming through my bay window
I look at the temp .....18f but feels like 6f
-7c / -14c brrrrrrr

They are still predicting this Nor'easter for Tuesday into Wednesday
Rolling Eyes

Anyway better get on i have something to do today three  washingbasket
to name a few

TRUMP NEEDS to be investigated something strange going on with that man confused1

Make sure Gil carries on doing his exercises when he get's home Carole. The place does sound a top class home though.

Well Laura's here .....she says thanks for her breakfast as well Bond  jam & orange  juice.

Susan said she'd read "Belgravia" which I'd loaned her, loved it she said, it's very "Downton Abby" by Julian Fellows  and she's onto to "Shadows In The House"  now which she said she got into straight away.....bet she'll like the one I'm reading.

I am back ,supposedly Bond said he never logs OUT Vicky
but I see he is not on now ,but the "Silent  " is
as I type
The nurse said Gil did not want to eat when I arrived so they were saving
him a plate in case he changed his mind ,this place is HUMONGOUS
it has that I have seen two cafe areas gift shop a room where they watch
special shows therapy rooms and I know some where there is a swimming pool
The Jewish people know how to look after their elderly people .....
Anyway he seems much happier was laying on top of his bed dressed said
he did some exercises and walked with his walker
He knows its up to him now as the more he does what they ask the faster
he comes home and he also said the Resident Dr came to see him and asked a lot
of questions some he told him the "wife" knows that
Anyway I told them to give me a bowl of Matza Ball soup ,its a chicken with some
veggies and Matza balls like a dumpling and he ate a good 3/4 plus some broccoli
I saw they had

It is getting VERY cold  Vicky I had to get the snow off my truck before leaving
and the little I could not reach is solid ice already its going to be brutal over the
weekend.....
Ah as long as Matthew and Laura WANT to go that is all that matters
I never went on ANY school trips my mum could not afford them

OK so its ♪ Hi ho Hi Ho and off to my shower  I go ♪  AFTER I eat my shrimp
basket from Pop Eyes do you have them over there ?
Not bad at all for $5
Speak tomorrow ........  HEY Sir G wipe your feet and put the light out when
you leave run run

  Carole looks cold there.

Oh yes Matthew & Laura want to go to Paris, they'd not have put their names down if they hadn't, Donkey Brains talked HER into letting them put their names down.....all the names went into a hat and 80 got picked out out of 230 names....so they were lucky both names got picked out, as I said Laura's best friend didn't get her name pull out or Holly Matthew's girlfriend.     I think Rob & HER were hoping their names wouldn't be pulled out. I'm sure they'll be just fine, there's enough security around for them to be safe. I'm sure.

Yes I can see you've got a problem Carole THOUGH wouldn't the Airline help, with Gil plus Buddy ....but of course as you say if Buddy got out... confused2  yes that's a problem, because no you wouldn't find him again.      What does Tracie say about that?      Does seem a shame because he'd love being with his daughter again after all this time.

Oh that was a shame you being the only one not to go on that trip Margaret. Mad

The best laid plans of mice and men,
Melanie called just as I was clearing up so spent an hour
talking about this and that.

Yes, I got the locked out symbol too, could not make head
or tail of it .Must have been an adjustment to the site.
Glad I didn't have to repeat myself anyway.
I have been having a little problem with one of the
security apps, telling me its time I de- fragged my
computer.
I cannot do that until I send a message to Ian first.
He can tell if it is one of the apps he put in place.
Still have to grocery shop for the week. Then
I am going to settle down to putting all the year end
tax statements together so I can hand them off to
Brian next week.
I think the last one came yesterday.

As far as the accident is concerned, one driver did stay
at the scene and has not been charged with anything yet.
The other driver fled and was arrested and is out on $50,000
bail of which he had to put up 10% meaning $5,000 in cash.
As I said it is still under investigation. The Dad is recovering
and has no memory of the accident but has been told that his
son died.

I remember my first school trip was to London for the day and
later we did a trip to Chester. In my high school, a group went
to Switzerland for 10 days and my father said it was a waste of
his hard earned money! The whole of my class went, I was the
only one who did not go.
Its not that he could not afford it, it was because he thought
it would give me airs and graces above my station!
He never went out of England his whole life! confused2
think everything is back to normal now so TTFN

Do Matthew and Laura WANT to go though Vicky?
I did tell Marge via a FB PM that her was there
as I said when I first posted mine YOUR post Vicky was
on here dated March 4th answering Bond about you loved
Ashby and wished you went more often and when I tried
to post it said it was "LOCKED"

Take BUDDY WITH US Vicky funnytvprog you have to be KIDDING
first off we would be he would have to be in a carrier
and more than likely in the hold of the plane and what would happen
when we arrived in Florida and if he got out I would never get him back
talktohand NO that is not an option ,I know Tracie is saying it
to try and give her Dad a goal to work towards ,but that is not it
Plus can you imagine me trying to help Gil luggage AND a cat

Anyway called Spencer and he is bringing home some ear plugs
so I will run them up after he gets home
I lay down on the easychair earlier and woke not feeling well at all
but its passing off now .....
sunny out now but tomorrow will only be a high in the 20's
LOOK out Deep freeze here we come

Back later after I see Gil

Great news about your sons FIL  Margaret.

Such terrible news about the young Baseball Player though...16 years of age,   why oh why do these idiots not realise doing such stupid stupid things devastate so many friends & families....hope they get the book thrown at them.?

Kids came here after school....Rob's car's off the road so we had to take them first to their house to gather up various things from home, weekend stuff and footy gear and then to Rob's

Both their names were pulled out of the hat to go to Paris. though not Laura's best friend or Holly Matthew's girlfriend.    I son't think either Rob or HER really wants them to go

Could you take Buddy with you Carole?   I know there's Timmy but couldn't you work something out.

Anyway Bond did you enjoy yourself last night?

Marge your post came through OK
but something was acting up as when
I went to post it said the site was LOCKED
anyway here is my post and I already suggested
ear plugs to the case worker Marge GREAT minds
do work alike good to hear about Barry √

Morning Vicky
I had a LONG talk with his case worker at the home
earlier ,she took down all whats happened and was
going to speak to the therapist to make SURE she did not
hurt his right hand and arm ,she called me back after going
to see him and said he was doing fine and told the therapist
his goal was to get home in a week ....they will not be taking
his blood though again till Sunday as they do it every 3 days
it seems ,and we have this big Nor'easter supposed to be
hitting us next Tuesday ,so he may not get to go home anyway
in a week ,we shall see
Tracie said if she can get us down there for a holiday maybe that
will give him something to look forward to ,not sure if THAT will
happen as what would we do with Buddy now ,Spencer would let him
out before he goes to work at 530am but that means he would be
out ALL day till he got home ah well we shall see what
happens

Looks like the snow is easing up some

My old neighbor from the other house brought and left at my door
a pan of Eggplant Parm that his sister had made for their
dad who is also in a home right now ,that was a life saver as I
had not cooked yesterday being as I was out all day and was
not expecting Gil to be transferred yesterday
He had emailed me before about helping out ,but I had told him

Six years ago when Peter had that nasty infection in his bladder,
he was so out of it that after being moved from the hospital to
a recovery center, thought we had left him there to die.
It was the infection and the medication that was affecting his
mind.Of course they would rather be home in their own beds
but sometimes we all have do things that we don't want to do.
Could Gil use some ear plugs? The little soft plastic ones are good
as you can sleep on them, you can get them at the local Drug store.

Got some good news about Ian's FIL, it seems they have found
the root of his mysterious jnfection, it is in a disc in his spine
and has now been given a better antibiotic that should take care of it.
He is still waiting for a bed at the rehabilitation center.

Our community is in mourning today as one of our local High school
Baseball players was killed in a road rage incident up on the hill on
Wednesday, his father was seriously injured.
They were waiting to turn left(which here is crossing the other traffic
lanes ) and two cars that got into some kind of argument over a near
miss started chasing each other and slammed into the waiting car at
high speed. This 16 year old was going home after helping his team
win a game at the school.
The idiots abandoned their cars but have since been arrested and are
out on bail pending the investigation.
I didn't know the family but we mourn anyway. We are one of the few
neighborhoods to have a memorial garden built to memorialize three of this
schools graduates who gave their lives fighting for their country in
Iraq and Afganistan.
Its called Hero's Park. The City kindly donated a patch of land that
originally had been set aside to join two streets but decided it was
not needed anymore. Seaside neighborhood residents take turns
volunteering to weed and keep it tidy and place flowers and flags
on various holidays.

Its a pity not more of the city walls remain but when Henry the VIII
"Smote" the walls and the priories, most of the citizens took the
stones for their gardens and farms, I would bet that there are some
old houses, barns and pigsties that got built with them.
It would be hard to find a Masons mark on any of them now. Smile

Its another hot day here but it does feel like it is a little cooler than
the last few days.
Going to get some breakfast and then start on my new list of things
that need my attention around here. As fast as one gets done another
gets added. (and my kids wonder what I do with myself all day!)
TTFN

Oh dear Carole but he is in the best place, if he came out he'd only end up being rushed back into the Hospital.

Yes Bond I know all about Joyce Lewis who was burnt at the stake in Lichfield, as was 2 or 3 others,   though Robert Glover was burnt at the Stake in Coventry and is down as a Coventry Martyr because that's where he was burnt to death.

Joyce Lewis was first married to George Appleby of Appleby Leics and then Thomas Lewis of Mancetter, Warwickshire.

Got to take the kids to their Dad

Hi Carole, I need to have a read back on your post I hope it's better news
Vicky here's one to Google Joice Lewis, married she married a Thomas Lewis from Mancetter and she got mixed up with the Glover family for of Mancetter Manor, Robert Glover was arrested and burned in 1555,
Some of the information comes from a book the Mancetter Martyrs by Rev. B. Richings vicar of Mancetter in the 19th century and Fox's book of Martyrs

Morning Bond
Well I tried calling the home this morning
thinking I was calling the nurse I got Gil and
did I HEAR IT at me
saying this F'ing place I have had no sleep ALL
night as they had the LAUNDRY going ,what laundry
I asked ,and he started again THE LAUNDRY
he is yelling ,but what he is hearing is the portable oxygen
machine they have him on as unlike the hospital where
its silent coming from a tube in the wall ,they have the portable
machines ,they did mention it to him last night and he said "oh I
can sleep" ...REALLY guess not
Anyway he said he was walking out of there today on and on
then the aid came in who he said had been sleeping when he
called her at 3am Rolling Eyes ,I asked to speak to her and she went
and got the nurse who said the same thing that it was his oxygen machine
I told her what he had said about leaving so she said did I want them
to but an alarm on his bed so I said you'd better and told her what
he had taken into his head to do last December when he pulled
out the catheter because it was bothering him Shocked
When she walked into the room he is yelling "hey I want to talk to YOU"
SO embarrassing Sad
The snow here in Bridgeport is only just NOW starting so if it stays
like this i will have to get up there and face the music
I will be back .I have a knot in my stomach Mad

Hello all ,well turned out to be a LONG day
the blood infusion brought Gil's number back
up to 10 ,but as the Dr said this morning we have to monitor
him as 9 might be his "normal" number ,but when it drops
like it did to 6 and 5 in 2015 that is dangerous ,and if it does
drop again the Gastric Dr said they would have to go back
in and hopefully SEE where he is losing the blood from but right
now they have NO IDEA ....
He said he was being shunted around all for nothing so when I asked what
he meant he said well its all a waste of time and did not know why he
could not just lay in the hospital bed and die
And when I left the Jewish rehab home {no you do not have to
be Jewish to stay there} he said don't forget me ,I told him
as long as I wear his wedding ring I cannot forget him ,silly sod
I also said IF I could monitor his blood he could have been here
but I cannot so that is why he is there
They certainly feed them well he had r.beef green beans mashed
potato and soup waiting on him when he arrived in his room
The hospital got an ambulance to transport him and even though
I ran home for some clothes for him I arrived before him

The only thing that worries me is if he needs the bathroom
even though he has a buzzer ,there are less people watching
them in there than the hospital
The reason they rushed him out was because of this snow storm
that should start around 2am
The storm heading at us for NEXT Tuesday could bring SIGNIFICANT
snow fall they are saying

Glad you enjoyed yourself Marge ,silly thing is here in Bridgeport
TODAY we broke a record hitting 61f ,but WOW the WIND

I LOVE history such great stories we have in our country

Glad you had a good time also Bond hows the sniffles

Anyway I must away I cannot stop tired tired

Yes I've read about that Margaret the Monument....I'll have to Google it to see if it's still there.   David's Gran lived live in The Martyrs' Close, Cheylesmore, didn't realise the story to the name until long after she died.    The things you don't find out until it's too late. Same with Glover Street where Aunty Peg used to live when she first got married.   Have to say every time we went passed the old city walls I used to think "The people who have walked by these walls, leaned against them gossiping, in the medieval times"   Mad  brilliant.....I always think the same when I go to any really old building.     You're right though Margaret about Gosford Green and just what is buried down there.....after all didn't they have a King buried under a Car Park in Leics.  Smile

You certainly had a good time last night Margaret.

Love that name Bond Apple Pie Lane.....I remember when we used to go to visit my Gran when she lived in Suffolk, we used to go passed "Honey Pot Lane"  fantastic.

Just asked David about the Monument Margaret & it's still there at the junction of Mile Lane & Quinton Road....though it's on a roundabout now.....but still there.     You'll have to go and see it Bond. I really must stop twitching my nose

There used to be a monument to the Martyr's at the junction
of Quinton Road and Mile lane, I passed it every day going to
school, its probably long gone now.
I wonder if the mosaic panel is still there under Broadgate House
that was put in between the underpass and the lift to the office
spaces upstairs.
Of course they covered over all the underpasses when they became
crime spots along with the underground toilets in the Precinct!

I do a Google Earth search over the city from time to time to catch up
with what the city planners have dreamed up now.

Gosford green was the scene of one of the bloodiest battles in the cities
history, goodness knows what is buried deep underneath it!

The group chose a Chinese restaurant over in a neighboring community
called Lomita, we chose about six dishes to share between us with rice
and veggies.(we were nine altogether) in a side room that held a large round
table with the biggest lazy Susan you have ever seen!
I sat next to a lady(never met before) who I spent a delightful evening
sharing stories with.

Her husband died about five years ago and her children would not let her
sell a 1968 restored Jaguar so they are insuring it for her and she is
storing it along with three other cars she cannot drive in her garage.
I,of course told her about Big Red and showed her a picture on my phone.
We had a good laugh about our Husbands and their toys.

Another hot sunny day here and I have a few things to take care of,
(when do I not) so I will say TTFN.
PS. thought it was something along those lines Malc. xxx

Afternoon all......wow Bond cutting the lawn, talktohand ours isn't ready yet.

Cute dog Carole. Hope it's good news when you go to the hospital Carole, hope they find out where the bleed's coming from.

Hope you enjoyed your get together Margaret.

They were really called the Coventry Martyrs Bond because they were all burnt to death in Coventry (7 men & 2 women then a further 3 men ) some of the Streets in Coventry are named after them. ....one of the men is Robert Glover who came from Mancetter. but died under the reign of Mary Tudor. Interesting stuff.....got books all about Warwickshire Martyrs, Got another one about Cornwall Witches. Though Robert Glover and a few more of the names are in Mancetter Church. I'm glad I don't live in that time.

Morning Bond seems strange hearing you
talk of MOWING as that is WAY off over here
in fact they are saying that even though the snow we
will get tomorrow will be up to 6" in places that
a storm heading our way for NEXT Tuesday looks
even BIGGER

Called Gil's night nurse at 445am she said he was just finishing
another unit of blood ,so hopefully SOMEONE has some answers
when I go up later ....

Today will be VERY breezy but dry and some sunny so better
do what I have to I guess

Will pop in later ...have fun at the Leading Players gathering

MORNING LADIES
