Good morning all from Atherstone a bit grey yet
Glad you had A good time at the theatre last night I do love the theatre and don't go enough, we saw one of the Nolans in Blood Brothers she was very good very emotional
She was in tears at the end,she said on a TV interview she often gets into the part that deeply she gets really upset
Gill looks good and comfortable in his new chair Carole, don't let him get too comfortable Or you'll never get him out of it easychair
I know each case is different but my dad had some of the best days of the last part of his life, when you think he only had cold water in the house and outside toilet he would of thought at the time that where Sylvia is would of been very good but what we know now about the Myton Hospice was a wonderful place to end your life in
Looking at getting the holiday things ready I need to pick up my tablets Early
Breakfast and it's Shredded Wheat and cold milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice Back later

Well it was BRILLIANT.....so good, Gareth Gates Bond was Willard you know the slow guy who couldn't dance and Ren had to teach him,  which was so funny, but it really was good....oh Maureen Nolan (Nolan Sisters) was the Rev's wife.

Glad the chair pleases Gil Carole.

The Helper said a lady in the home last year took 3 weeks to die, they'd stopped feeding her, giving her liquid, AND medication....now stopping liquid is bad enough but medication,  they can't stop her medication she's in pain as it is and you're right Margaret she should be having morphine in her arm but nobody is qualified to do it   I've not heard from Craig so I don't know if he's been in touch with Cliff and if he has what Cliff's said to him.   Cliff was saying to me weeks ago that Sylvia hadn't long to go so she might as well stay put  seeing how she is now I know I'm banging my head against the wall trying to get him to see sense, David said as soon as Cliff sees me walk in he must think "Oh no here she comes"  David agrees with all I say though, he thinks Cliff is a disgrace.   I wish wish wish I could have her moved to a Hospice where we all know she'd be looked after..

Ok guys speak tomorrow.   Nighty night

Susan took this (and many others) of the favourite car in Lake Garda the Ferrari

Well they delivered the chair early,I was in the middle
of changing the kitchen area around ,all I have to do now is
wait until Spencer gets home as he is moving the TV and couches
for me and "hopefully" Blaine will come home early as well
as I asked him to to help his brother ....
Gil looks like he is pleased, was surprised at what we spent $600
but its fully automatic with the heat-massage and stand up feature
so with delivery charge and tax confused2
Showed Gil the stand up feature which if he does it right should HELP
when he tries to stand up from the sitting position

Oh that does not sound good at all with Sylvia Vicky ,I wonder if
they will give her a larger dose so she does not suffer any more
but like my Nan slipped into a coma before passing away
Like Marge said Cliff should be looking over his shoulder
Hey has Lena been to see her yet confused2

So your off to see ♪ Foot Loose ♪ great movie ..
Bond you will be on L & L duty then I hope

Its ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT today ,I did mow the back grass
and all is looking VONDERBAR

Buddy was laying last night on his back with his paws curled
up in the air ,his feet are SO LONG that the top section seem
to bend over ,and he has this habit of putting his nose into your hand
as he sleeps why confused2 we have no idea
Spencer was saying he is changing from when we first invited
him in as he used to GROWL a LOT when you tried to pet him
no more though

OK have fun we are having PIZZA as I am too KNACKERED
to cook now headbanger

Lovely morning here as well, working its way up to the 80s
tomorrow and again next Tuesday.
Had a lovely meal last night, I had two veggie Samosa,
Brown Rice and a Lamb Tika. Free dessert was rice pud.
Mild spice this time as its been some time since I had
any Indian food.
Slept like a baby last night, seven straight hours. Didn't
even need a walk to the little room at the end of the corridor!

Tried to hang Jane's pictures yesterday but the hooks in the
wall from the pictures I took down are just a little off so
need to measure where they need to go and make sure there
is a stud behind where I am going to put them, that's why I
posted them leaning on a kitchen cabinet so she could see
what they look like framed.
I already lost one wall clock from a shaking that made it jump
off the wall. (earthquake)
The new clock is on a big hook that is usually used for hanging
clothes on in a bathroom. Its going nowhere!

I have been looking everywhere for my cat grooming comb and
cannot find it so when I went cat food shopping at Pet'smart
I looked and could only find big combs so tried the local drug store
(think Boots) and I found the perfect brush and comb. Found out
they love being combed!  The brush they are not sure about so
just did a few strokes with it so they can get used to it.
Tabbitha is getting hairballs from grooming Jagger so much (even
though they are on food that is supposed to help with that).
So if I can cut down on the amount she is ingesting it will help.
They are both in here with me sound asleep with the sunny
streaming through the window on them.
They now tolerate having their claws clipped, only the points you
know, every two weeks(that's how long it takes for them to sharpen
them again!)
Its lovely to wake up with Jagger sleeping on me and Tabbitha tucked
in the crook of my arm. Cats have a knack of making themselves feel
light or heavy. Jagger is usually heavy but when he sleeps on me he
feels as light as a feather. Tabbitha I can feel purring against my arm.

I would not wish the treatment Sylvia is getting on my worst enemy.
She needs more TLC than she will ever get where she is at the moment.
Her so called husband needs a swift kick up the a*** h***!
I hope and pray that he suffers the same fate when its his time.

Its time for me to get started here, got some stuff done yesterday but
not as much as I would have liked, So its  washingmachine  on again
this morning while I sort and stash.

Just read your post Vicky. If she had been in Hospice she would have had a
tube in her arm so she could get the amount of morphine needed to keep
her pain in check and be able to be awake. This is torture.

Carole when I got back from visiting Sylvia "I'd had mail"   from .....Swedish Fish .....you're naughty nono  but nice  slobber slobber.   Thank you.

Well Sylvia was having a bad time....she was in a lot of pain, so Bev  (    breathe Vicky breathe )  anyway Bev, when I said "She needs morphine"  Bev says "I'll go and see the young guy Shocked  and tell him"  so off she trotted...and the young guy came back with morphine and started giving it to Sylvia with a plastic syringe, her gums were bleeding on Tuesday and they were bleeding today, she'd bled on the pillowcase when we'd got there,  anyway after a  minute if less after she'd had the morphine she didn't just bring the morphine back but blood, all over the place,  they then had to clean her up and change the bed.....then Bev started "Yapping"   "I might be just her cousin but I'm like a sister to her"    "When I came to see her on Tuesday she was nattering to me but today she's just not with it"   I looked at her and I said...."Her mouth hurt her so she couldn't talk that much"  she then went on about George Elliot Hospital as though she was visiting her nearly every day.....instead of never visiting her, which ok wasn't Bev's fault, but all the same lets have it as it was Bev don't make stories up.

Anyway off to the Theatre tonight seeing "Footloose"     "Footloose, footloose, kick off the Sunday shoes ...Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees,  Jack, get back, come on before we crack"     loved that film with Kevin Bacon.

Ok later.....maybe, if not then tomorrow.

Hotpoint called us today they're coming Monday to change the drum. cheers at long last.

Been nattering telephone to Susan, she was helping at an animal rescue centre, cleaning the cages out, taking two dogs out for a walk, and just helping out. The Firm do things like this once a year....it's various things like helping at an old peoples home, painting rooms etc last year she helped out at the Air Ambulance centre. They always have people manning the phones in Bristol when it's Children In Need every year, Susan's done that twice.

Right now shall I have a crusty buttered batch or a sugar doughnut.....I'll have a cuppa though

Awful awful about that building ...
I know it was also news but was SICK
of hearing the repeated questions about
the Virginia ,they say he is dead
as two of the "whips" security people were
with him as he was playing baseball ,and had
he not been with the others it would have been
a massacre as he would have been able to have
shot ALL he wanted with no one being able
to take the man down
Seems he was a Trump hater among other things Shocked

I love a mild curry Marge Gil used to make those
Vesta Curry's when we were back home some times
after he had been to the pub on a Saturday lunch

Strapless bra @ Vicky ....I can remember when I tried
one of them Shocked my boobs were too big Mad needed
the "uplift "Rolling Eyes

Nice day again still hot not as cool as I thought it was GOING to be
I have had another busy day ,finished all the washingbasket
made pork cutlets in the oven with veggies for dinner ,so that
is all done ....
They called to say the chair will be delivered tomorrow between
1030-230pm ...

OK I am off to RELAX a little ...BOND L & L please tut sweet

Been watching the US incident and the UK incident on TV.
BBC world service has again been doing a stellar job staying
on air all night to cover the high rise fire.
One person they interviewed said that the rain cladding they
put on the building to stop rain penetrating left an air pocket
between it and the wall with no fire stops at each floor to stop
a fire from doing what it has done. The cladding was plastic.
Its was the middle of the night so no one heard a fire alarm.
The old instructions on each door said to stay in their flats as they
had a fire proof door but this was changed after another fire
like this that cost lives. So they were aware there was a problem
with these types of buildings.
Most tower buildings here have been retro fitted with a sprinkler
system after some deadly fires here in the states.
The lift and fire stairs ran down the center of the building but once
the fire got into it, it was like a chimney.
The plans show four 2 bed flats and 2 one bed flats on each floor
with no other means of escape.
I think that this is going to be worse than the three terror incidents
combined.

It looks like we are in for a HOT weekend here so I have to
roll out the sun blind at some point. I also have to hang the two
watercolors in the kitchen. They gave me a couple of different hangers
at the framing store so won't know what is needed until I get the old
pictures down.
Its dinner at the Bombay Curry House tonight don't know how many we
will get as some of our English lassies won't even try Curry!
To them everything is too hot I tried to tell them that there are normal
items on the menu but confused2 I tried.

I just got a FB message from Ian asking how my physical went so I am sure
I will get a phone call from him today. He can never take me at my word!
Think I will go and make a frothy coffee in the coffee maker that Peter gave me
for Xmas three years ago. TTFN

Went into the garden for almost an hour.....then we went out, bought two tops....or and a strapless bra.

It's up to 12 now, something wasn't done correctly, these days the Insulation shouldn't burn. they say all building regs were followed.   maybe.

Anyway tea Bond please?

Now that is what I call an ice cream.

at 530am {76f here right now)
SO had to put the A/C back on ...
They are saying this will all be back sometime in the next 8 days
after a brief reprieve of more normal temps

The terrible news this morning is of the tower block fire in West London, 25 stories and high and the block was in flame from bottom to top
Well I was going to make a joke about who's deep shooting cherry stones about but it doesn't seem so funny now
It's looking like alot were trapped in the top floors and probably never got out

Good morning all from Atherstone a bright morning here clear blue sky so thanks for the blowing Carole Smile
Thanks for that update Vicky I will have to put that on my list of places to visit and look at the old history of what's left, I did know about the ice house but thought it was for Caldicote Hall but also thought it was a bit away from the hall, I used to go down Shawe avenue to go to the sport field, I would think there a small booklet, pamphlet by the towns historians, I'll put it on my list, thanks for the knowledge,
Right breakfast Shredded Wheat and cold milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice Then it's legs up for hoover

Here you go....1 and 3 Shawe Avenue. This bears the Kay family motto: 'IN DEO SOLO SPEC MIA' (In God alone is my hope). Walls from the Castle survive near 18, 31 and 74 Castle Road; the Weddington Social Club was built upon the site of the icehouse, and the Southern Lodge building from the Castle grounds remains as a private residence at 6 Brook Lane, off Weddington Road. Another local house features a door from the Castle.   I keep saying I've got to go and have a look.

Finished my book....a lot of going back to the 16th century, it got a bit too silly. Anyway I've finished it. Chosen another Kindle book and again could be spooky.

Ok Carole tomorrow.

Weddington Castle was demolished in 1928 Bond I've got the history of Weddington Castle, lots of bricks where used to build Weddington housing estate though they say the castle's crest is built into a house in Shawe Avenue. I'm sure I've got the info somewhere which house it is.     I did have an old postcard in the Victorian era of Weddington Castle but lent it to Jack who was doing a project of old buildings....it went missing.    confused2

Ok nighty night.....sleep tight.

Wedding Castle, it was still there in 1973? But I never remember seeing it so I don't know if that's right,
Drinks? Then it's time for bed for this lad

Just a passing note,
No one as yet has claimed the $448 million Powerball prize yet.
The owner of the Off license gets $1million bonus for
selling the ticket.
The twist in the tail is that you only get the whole amount
if you take a 30 year annuity, cash out is $273.1 million
BUT that is before taxes are deducted!
so say another half is gone for that, its only worth $136 approx.
The total only got that high because no one had the winning ticket
at the last drawing.
I hope as you say Carole that a syndicate won it.

Well done then Marge if not so much your Dr's
visit your working around the house etc
Guess I should think myself lucky as the
statins and BP pills I take are only because
of the weight I put on back in the early 90's
after having my ruptured disc removed and
I became less active

Gilly must be hungry ,just asked what we were having
for dinner ,and when I said steak and a salad ,he said
lets have it then its only 230pm
too early yet

I see some of the thunder storms starting to kick in
in up state NY drifting down into CT affraid

Back later ....Bond what did you do with Vicky, she is not
still chattable to Bev on her driveway is she confused2

Hi Vicky, it's never going to be really good news but it never seems to be a cheerful time, I think back to when my dad was in Myton, he had bad days but on his good days he would sit out or play cards a domino's with Chalky or Nozer,
It's a shame, it sounds more like a cell than a bedsit

Great cherries Bond.....Sylvia's favourite fruit.

Wow lovely chair Carole, Gil will love that.

Met up with Bev.....Sylvia said her mouth hurt, well she could barely speak but it was her mouth hurting and not the Cancer, she said she'd had some cheese which had chillies in, and it burnt her mouth, she said "My head almost blew off" and her gums did look red,  I said to Bev "She can't have chilli"  she'd also dropped her coffee down her front she said so had to put a dirty top back on.   I was hopping mad.....went and got her an iced cold drink of water, which she gulped down, then she couldn't straighten her legs in her bed, so I pressed the nurses button ....a couple of minutes later a helper arrived, "Sylvia needs moving up the bed so she can straighten her legs"   she had to wait for another helper so the pair of them could move Sylvia up the bed and straighten the sheet, I said "Is it ok to give Sylvia glasses of wine seeing she's on medication?"  the helper said "She can now at this stage have anything she wants"   I then asked about the cheese and she said she didn't know seeing she'd only come on duty at 2:00 and they know she's got Cancer and not long to live, all this was said in a whisper of course.     I'm going again on Thursday and so is Bev.

Oh while we were there Susan sent her Dad a text message a 15 year old at Matt & Laura's school this morning had a gun and amo, and was arrested.      what next?
Good news then Margaret you not being pre-diabetic any longer.
Ok back in a bit.

Hi there , beautiful day yesterday and it looks like
June Gloom might be over for a few days.
I decided that while I was out yesterday I would do
all my outside errand as well so I could spend a couple
of days doing "inside" chores.
Things were a bit muddled at the Dr. Office .
Front desk knew I was there for a physical and gave me
the usual forms to fill out about my general state of health
but in the examining room the Dr. and her new nurse
didn't seem to be aware that that is what I was there
for except to find out the results of the blood they drew
last week.
Good news is I am no longer pre-diabetic but a couple of things
came up that she wants checked out further by a Gastroenterologist.
Its not serious at this stage, just a precaution.

My blood pressure is still spiking so she's put me on a mild
pill for that and my cholesterol level is higher than she likes so
pills for that. I cannot take a statin drug as it does weird things
to me so she has put me on an older drug.
I will go back in a few weeks time and have the physical proper
and have another blood test to see if things have changed a bit.

I finally got the right appliance to take my asthma meds with.
The one I had before was like an oxygen mask over my nose and
mouth which I found to be stifling. This one is just a plastic tube
that I put the inhaler into and up to my mouth. This is the one
that I take in the morning and at night, I also carry a small
emergency inhaler in my bag with me just in case, I rarely
have to use it. That's what you get for smoking for 36 years!
(I have not had a drag for 23 years and 1 month)
I got off lucky, it could have been much worse.

Today I am going to throw open all the windows and let the
fresh air in. I have the recycles and trash ready to go outside
in the bins and will be going through the travel samples I want to keep.
I am also going to sterilize the travel toothbrush and container and
plastic soap container. I bought some more make up remover wipes
and sterile hand wipes. They are sealed so should be OK. I can never
find them later in the summer as they are the one thing they sell out
of first.
I still have to find a sample size of baby shampoo which I use to wash
my face with ( I have to protect my eyes).
The gardeners are here, I can hear the leave blower going out back.

Ian's FIL has a similar chair and he thinks its great.
Ian says he is finally back to where he was when we went to France.
And has driven the car at least once much to Ian and Rebecca's shock.
The South African helper is finishing this week end as Barry and Sheila
feel that they can handle it between them now.
Ian has installed extra grab bars all over the place as Barry is still not
that stable on his feet yet. I know the electric stair climber is paying for itself.
Must away and get started here, once I get moving I am good for the day.
If I put it off for too long I tend to get lazy and waste time so its TTFN
