David says though it looks warm, and so he went out with Benjie in his shorts, in fact it's cold Shocked

Yes Bev was saying she didn't want to carry a coat when she went to see the boys, and Marcus had said smart dress Mum we're taking you out for a meal, so she'd said to Marcus "I'll bring a cagoule with me" "MUM" Marcus said "You're not wearing a cagoule" but Bev said "I'm not getting wet" what about a brolly I asked, she said she'd rather wear her cagoule and then she said "It's quite nice red & black" us who know Bev can picture it Shocked Marcus isn't happy.

Oh Susan said when she sent the photos "There's free tea & cakes every afternoon" bounce She'll be hitting the Gym when she gets back. Though I wouldn't be surprised if this Hotels not got a gym, Matt likes his gym. I say to him, his Mum says to him "You'll hurt your shoulder again" he damaged it playing rugby, though just one of his injuries playing that silly game, we're all glad he doesn't play it now, THOUGH his club still get in touch asking if he wants to come back. Mad

Ok back later.

You're over doing it Carole.

From a puppy Nessie has been used to being looked after by Matt's parents, well at the very start Susan & Matt had a dog walker who came in Morning & afternoon to take Nessie out and Susan or Matt would dash home at lunch time & then dash back to work 20 minutes each way, the days Susan & Matt were both working  confused2  they have to work Carole and then Matt's Mum said she didn't like Nessie having a dog walker looking after her & couldn't her and John look after Nessie and so Nessie started going to them...Susan & Matt know that Nessie is being looked after well, Matt's parents both love Nessie,  and so they've left her when they've gone away for a weekend or for two weeks on holiday.....Nessie runs to Matt's parents with her tail wagging as she runs to them when they come to pick her up with her tail wagging, she's got the best of both worlds Carole.  & one of them has to make a journey to drop Nessie off before continuing to work.  No I think Nessie is fine & they wouldn't go away if they didn't think she was....they love Nessie to bits.    I think Benjie finds it odd that Matt's work trousers and shirt are over the arm of the big bedroom chair.

Well done Wendy.

Not much dress to see Carole  AND it is a family show, so it's a bit much....well no it's not much at all but you know what I mean.....it's a bit much to almost wear a dress like that on a family show, talktohand  though this show, X Factor  etc the women on these shows do seem to try to find a dress with less & Less Material.  Mad

Tomorrow guys.

Evening all ...Marge I think we have your June gloom
this side and it does not look like its going to improve
much ,Saturday will be the best day of the weekend
then 4 out of the 7 the following week will have

Made spaghetti and meat-a balls for dinner
I would never be any good as a druggy ,only taking these
Antihistamines and I cannot keep my eye eye open  tired

Just took my shower  but as soon as Spencer is in I am off to lay down

Did mow the back lawn at 730am as I could tell if I laid down on the
sofa I would be easychair
After I ran to Home Depot got some more Deer repellent and sprayed
my Hosta plants that seem to be a Delicacy to them ,Fran has the same
problem where she lives out in the "boonies" with no fences and a LOT
of wooded area  where ♪ the deer and the buffalo roam ♪ talktohand
well OK maybe NOT Buffalo
She has to look for plants the deer do not like confused2

Glad Susan arrived safe ,if Benjie is missing them wonder how
Nessie feels Sad

Yes that is my Crimson Glory Rose Vicky ,loaded this year with buds
so pleased as I thought I might lose it moving it from the other garden
like we did

My sister got an award plaque and pin for Volunteering in the Red Cross
Charity shop Derek took her picture and posted it on FB
The Red Cross also took her picture and gave her a lovely bunch of flowers
they must LOVE my sister as she is a WORKER never STOPS ,she tells
me things like she washed all the wood trim down that she could reach
on the outside of their house as she was bored one day ,and instead of
throwing a old sheet / cover over the spare bed where Henry lays at night
she WASHES ALL THE SHEETS and BLANKETS Rolling Eyes  I soon told her
what I thought about THAT

Ok I am away speak tomorrow ,is someone going to show ME this dress confused2

My Gran used to say "There's no fool like an old fool"   Bev's already said to me "He'll want me to go and help him afterwards, do a bit of ironing & cleaning"  Shocked  to start with she never ironed a shirt for her first husband Paul and the other guys she got involved with, including Chris wouldn't know what a shirt looked like, the scruff look is all the range......though Ken had to look smart going to work, but he had a wife for that and Bev as his personal bank manager    ...... as for cleaning     funnytvprog  ....though she doesn't expect to do either  .   I honestly thought she had changed until Cliff said (in front of Sylvia )  "Bev's not happy with Chris is she, she was telling me all about him and crying"  it was the "And crying" which had me sitting up  Shocked   this is what she does, starts crying    "He's so horrid to me"  etc etc etc  trying to get the guy feeling sorry for her....  I know when I first met her having a controlling husband her stories didn't sound true....she would go out and not come in until early in the morning,  I would have been dragged by  hair all over the place before being put against the wall and shot.  And when she said "Her wages were her own" WELL  she soon changed that to "Oh he dragged me off to the hole in the wall and forced me to withdraw money he wanted"    yeah of course Bev, BUT saying that though she is selfish  "Oh I'd do the same for you"  of course you would Bev, & no matter how many times you fall out with her, you end up being friends again. even though I don't see much of her, though looks like I'm seeing her next Wednesday. and maybe Sunday if I go to see Sylvia and Bev goes there as well..

Visability is about half a mile this morning and the
humidity level is up again so a bit sticky as well.

Most farms here used to use wind powered fans
to help pump up water from artesian wells for
years. but they had a frame around them.
Some one did not do their research about where to
place the turbines and built them in the birds flyways!

When we were in Holland we went to the World Heritage
Site that contains about 9 old style windmills. It was
one of the windiest days we had had so most of them
were tethered but one was free wheeling in the 80 klm
wind gusts and it looked like it was going to do a
Mary Poppins!

You should have seen the male relatives come flocking
around my Mum when word got out that Dad had left her
and after she got a divorce. They all thought she was
a scarlet woman. It wasn't money but her sexual
favors they were after. She was definitely not that
kind of lady. The only favor she did was to not tell their
wives!
When Peters mother passed, his father was heartbroken
and in his grief met a woman who had been married twice
before and married her thinking he got a housekeeper and
cook but it only lasted about a year. The big blow up happened
when she asked him to put the vacuum cleaner around the
living room while she took care of the laundry!
He had never done any form of housework in his life!
He had to go to hospital one day for prostate trouble and
he came home to his suitcase out on the step!
Peter and I tried not to laugh when he told us about this
on the next visit. It was a case of him saying "Don't you
know who I am, I am a retired Wing Commander!"
Plain speaking Yorkshire woman that she was told him
what she thought of that!
We couldn't openly laugh but when we went back to our hotel
we laughed until the tears ran.
Wife # 3 was an RAF widow and were more suited to each other,
they stayed married for over 25 years until Pops passed away.

Time for breakfast here and its whole grain Cheerios with
raspberries and blueberries and plain yogurt on top
(I am down to the dregs, must go grocery shopping).

Heard from Susan ....she's sent some photos, one photo out of their window looking towards the lake .....great views. Benjie's missing them, twice now we've found him on the big chair in their (Carole's) bedroom with his nose on his paws looking forlorn. Awww!!!

Yes overcast here......I couldn't close my Kindle last night, the book is so good want to know what happens next, thought I'd be still  when the kids got up.

Thing is when she got out of her car I looked at her and thought "Well Bev could you look more frumpy?"    and yet Cliff wanted to get her alone & David and her had a good conversation and obviously was glad she was there.  Shocked   sigh!!!  confused2

Later.....  Love the Rose Carole, our roses at the front look lovely..

Ahhh the trip to Italy BonJourno
thanks Bond
Well don't know what this is but its
itchy more on my arm than face ,but the skin was sort of
flaking in layers last night whether the cream is making it do that
I do not know but it looks like its getting smaller there but
my arm is itching more ,so applied the Cortizone.10 again
this morning and I also took an Antihistamine pill as MO
the Pharmacist suggested to help with the itching which
it seemed to as I slept well ...

Bet Bev is herself now that she married as Cliff
will be available wont she as soon as her cousin does pass,
change Vicky I don't THINK SO

Well I have nothing planned today could do a load of washing
but I can save that for Saturday or Sunday

We cannot seem to get out of the 50's mode as right now its 51f
at 545am going up to around 68f before we get possible a pop
up storm
Saturday looks OK but Sunday not so good rain showers all day

Any-who speak later .........must remember to jot down
these important snippets of news from Vicky run run

MORNING MARGE run run run

I certainly hope your face goes down Carole and you find out what it is.

I so agree about the trees which are chopped down over here daily Margaret so we can clear the land to build more homes....though Wind Turbines are horrid to look at, kill the birds, those turbines which are going round, because often you see them at a stand still, not working ....so Wind Farms (which we call  then)   Solar panels yes, houses around here have them..... but wind turbines no.   We've found out over here they just don't generate what we need.

Did you tell Mrs B you were off to buy Miss Vicky that dress at the weekend Bond.....confused2   didn't see it though, I was nattering to Susan & ....well Susan Smile     Then I spoke to Bev   telephone  when Susan & Matt had gone to bed.  Bev's off to see her sons in Warrington, Marcus is over here and he's visiting his brother, though she's thinking of going to see Sylvia on Saturday or Sunday    when Cliff will be there. Mad
Did I say she'd changed?

Tomorrow guys.....  Oh btw Bond thank you for explaining to Carole why Susan & Matt are here.

Keeping the mind and hands busy Bond,Peter
was the same with his computer. There was always
another project in the works.
I finally shipped off Bobs stuff priority mail and it
should arrive today as its not going out of the L A
area. Of course after I mailed it, I found another
envelope stuffed with what I think is another hand
written part of one of the short stories. At least I can
send that regular mail.

I think the half a banana I had on my cereal was not
quite ripe enough so left me feeling a little gassy
yesterday. I didn't feel like eating again so called
and cancelled on the weekly dinner with the girls.
I had a can of chicken noodle soup instead and
slept until 5 am when I felt very cold so got a
cardigan and went back to sleep and didn't wake
up until 9:15 am !

I finally gave in and started to take the stronger
anti depressant the Dr. gave me last year.
I feel more awake during the day and am sleeping
better at night so I must have needed it.
Depression is a very sneaky thing, it happens so
gradually that you are not aware that you are under
its spell. I just kept putting it down to stress and bad
sleep patterns. It was creating a lack of focus and a
feeling of fatigue all the time. I now feel much better.

Trump now wants to opt out of the Paris climate agreement.
It gives the impression that he thinks global warming is
another "fake news" item.
What no one understands is that this world of ours has been
through many cycles of weather before but we were not here
to see or feel it!
We, the human population need to plant millions more trees.
reduce our carbon footprint and clean up the mess in space
and in the ocean. The technology is out there to replace nuclear
power plants with Solar panels (nuclear power generates 100s
of barrels of radio active waste which is being buried in the ground.
It will be radio active for 100s of years!)
In certain places wind turbines are also a good alternate energy source.
Even the ocean can be used to fuel turbines that produce electric power.
The only reason why it has not been tried yet is that some one is making
too much money from the way things are already. here endeth the soapbox

Foot note: every house in  California should be all solar but the price of
installation is about $10,000,too high for most people but we could all sell
our excess watts to the power companies who are saying that our hot  summers
will bring more brown outs.

Its as I predicted , June gloom today but in the high 60s to mid 70s . With some
sunny this afternoon it won't be too bad.
I am going to be having a clear out of all the used travel sized items I use on
trips. I have at least a box full after throwing in all the ones i could find.
half of them are used so can be thrown away. I think I can whittle it down
to large ziploc bag.
Must away and get started. I have my weekly meeting tonight as usual.
TTFN

It could be Hives Carole if they are itchy.

Well ended up going NO WHERE
Gil never woke until after 9am said he
was ACHING ,so whats new he is ALWAYS
aching .....so by the time I got him up watered
fed washed etc ,I had to go get one of his
medications ,and I have a problem myself
Fran asked me yesterday what the red hard
blotch was on my cheek ,I said did not know
but have a few red itchy spots on the inside
of my right arm as well so figured I might have
touched some poison Ivy ....
Anyway asked the Pharmacist if he thought it
was that but he said my face also looked a bit swollen
and that Poison ivy does not do that so to apply Cortizone 10
to it as I have been for a couple of days and if it gets no better
go to a medical walk in or call the DR but I see my DR the 9th
anyway IF I can WAIT THAT long
So we are still here
Now why are Susan and Matt up ,I have forgotten confused2
Where is Marge she is late

We've been to Palmers Bond....had custard slice and a cuppa and then a look around, saw an interesting book about the England of Dickens but the queue was so long (only two tills) and David wasn't keen to stand about and wait, so I let it. Sad oh well....another time.

And then came home and washed a blouse I had seen a mark on the other day, so I handwashed the mark off and decided I might as well carry on and finish handwashing it. So I only was out in the garden 30 minutes Bond....though 30 minutes is fine for me.

Susan & Matt will be here around 7:00.

weather we had last night ,they were saying North CT
at first then just after Spencer left for Carmen's
the RED sign started flashing on the TV that WE WERE
UNDER a TORNADO WARNING ....well that passed in 20mins

to severe weather and then there was BIG BOOMS and then the
LIGHTENING  and DOWN POURS  affraid
Went on until 1am ,felt SURE all my poor plants would
be battered down ,so will go out later to do damage control

Anyway Happy 20th Anniversary to my beloved ,Spencer said

of course that was when we lived in Stratford ,would need a JCB BACK HOE
to dig a freaking HOLE here funnytvprog

Ok Spencer is home I have showered so heading for them thar
hills pilgrim

June 1st tomorrow Gil and I will have been wed {2nd time around}
20 years ,told Gil weather permitting I will get him down to Seaside

David's Dad loved working with wood, he had trained to be a Carpenter, Alan took after him, and funnily enough Steve, Rob AND SUSAN  were really good at woodwork whilst at school, we've still got the coffee table with the beautiful wooden chess board centre which Steve made whilst at school,  and Susan's got her wooden jewellery box she made......Rob made a   cupboard with drawers once but it was too big to get into the car....BUT David wouldn't bring a van home to bring it home,  Sad   and a teacher got it.   Ok ok it was a bit "Where is it going to go" but we'd have found somewhere, but no David wouldn't here it.

She doesn't have a regular carer Carole, the Helpers work there and look after 72 rooms, Sylvia's just a resident, though nobody has Cancer she's the only one, they don't really deal with Cancer patients.   A Doctor does visit every so often and they've usually got a medical  staff who dishes out the drugs.     But the other day Sylvia had heartburn and they hadn't got ANYTHING for heartburn, we had to text Cliff to bring in a bottle of Milk of Magnesia for her. confused2    I did once ask a Helper what sort of day Sylvia had had and she said "If I run in to the Sister I'll ask her and come and let you know"  she either forgot, or didn't run into Sister  (that's the medical girl or guy who's always on duty....I think they're always on duty I'm not sure)    reading their blurb makes you laugh "They're encouraged to carry on their interests like gardening in the landscape garden"  LANDSCAPE GARDEN?   that's a strip of grass by the car park with some bushes.   I thought there must be a garden at the back of the building somewhere.....but no, that's it.  Mad

Ta for the ice bun Bond.....and cuppa.

Just thought maybe her regular carer might
have mentioned something like "oh she had
a good or bad day" today

BOND are you withholding GOODIES from Vicky's
"I WANT" list rollingpin

sunny came out around 3pm ,compared to the FOG we had
all morning ,it looks like a beautiful Spring day as it SHOULD be Rolling Eyes

Made some kind of strip steaks in gravy in the oven with a sliced
onion and served it with mashed potato carrots and sprouts talktohand
needless to say Gilly cleaned his PLATE

OK Spencer had to drop his Kia off today after getting the accident report
from the police in New York of the guy who hit him in the rear when he
took Carmen to the airport ,they will provide a loaner car ,not major
damage but enough ,good job the guy who had NO license did have
insurance

OK whose doing the drinks

Well I had a lovely lunch in the end, it was like a second wake after the funeral last year of one of one of the nicest men I knew, and certainly the best carpenter
And when they had sorted his estate there was a lot of smart turned wooden things, goblets bowls and thing s and the son wanted us the construction team to have them
Here is my two works of art, I'll show you what they are like with the tops off
Teas made

Hi there,I am Back on Parade with buttons shined and shoes polished.

I did the reconnection nice and slow and it seems they make things
more simple than I thought.
It did take a bright light as I was under the desk doing all this.

Its the last day of May Grey today and tomorrow it will be June Gloom.
Its not our best vacation time this time of year but the sun does show
its face in the afternoons so not all bad.
Got one more ceiling fixture light bulb to replace and for that I have to stand on the
California King size bed! it fills the room so no way to move it far enough to get the step
stool in there.
Got an alarm response from the cats this morning about 3:45am it seems one of the
palm fronds fell off the tree and it made the cats water trough in the kitchen go "glug"
so it was heads up all round. took a while for us all to go back to sleep.
The palm tree is getting on for 80-100 feet tall so they come down with a smack and
thats why the water bottle glugged.

I am trying to stay away from listening to the news as I think over here most of the
"fake" news we are hearing is coming from the White House, its called disinformation
in legal terms. We, the public are being misled about things like funding being taken away
from Meals on Wheels program and the next thing you know Trump has given the all clear
to build an oil pipeline across Indian sacred lands.
He is trying to put the screws to California by taking away our early Earthquake warning
system, yet we have more earthquake activity than any other state!
(we also have more sanctuary cities than any other state).
He can also deny us federal aid in the case of a big earthquake causing a lot of damage.

confused2 but

Well busy day.......food shopper  first off.....then we went to Sutton Wharf  and took Benjie the walk through the woods and to Bosworth Fields ...on our walk back we stopped and went and had nibbles with Benjie under the table, he's so good.     Then it was :driver:  home and after putting Benjie into his cage we went to see Sylvia who was fast asleep....waited about 10 minutes and then :driver:  home, stopping at Dobbies for a cuppa.

santa   Margaret......

And if Margaret has to keep her finger away from "weird" looking sites....she'll never post on here again  funnytvprog

Oh Harold Wilson and his  pipe and his wife Mary.....who thought she couldn't stay in Chequers if her husband wasn't there with her.  Awww!!   Harold Wilson who I had a real ding dong about in the Dentist only last year, while we were sitting there waiting to be seen Margaret Thatcher was mentioned on the TV and this guy started on about her "Closing all our pits down" and I said "Excuse me but Harold Wilson closed more pits than Margaret Thatcher did"  Harold Wilson was the darling of the Labour....and not a bad chap really...."No he didn't" this guy said "He did" I said Smile   "Oh no he didn't" he said "Look it up when you get home" I said. with a smile  He looked quite put out. funnytvprog

Ahhhh but the ads are gone Carole so I can get in.....as I did last night, after I'd logged off, so no sulks.   I don't very often sulk Carole, I'm not a sulky person.run run run  so I'm going off now and sulking  run run run

Don't you believe it Carole, us older generation might think the world of the Royal family but the cry for a Republic is very strong over here.

The people still agree with us leaving the EU as does Corbyn but Corbyn will be a poor negotiator, he'll give away too much....they'll still have us on a lead.

Where's Sir Graham when you want him?     .    SIR GRAHAM.

Oh well I'm off to bed.......sleep tight.

Awwww a bambi
