Carole. did you not get a notice informing you of an
increase in your UK SS? I did. It makes me laugh
that it is sent under a plain brown cover so it
looks very mysterious.
It sure sticks out from my usual mail.

When to Pam's British shop and finally bought myself
a two cup Brown Betty teapot. I was wasting so much tea
with the four cupper as it got cold before I could drink it all
and there is nothing worse than cold tea. It does not taste
the same when reheated.

Nice surprise last evening, Lorna cooked spaghetti with
meat balls and some garlic toast on the side followed by
a piece of cherry pie with some whipped cream washed
down with a glass of white wine. Lovely-Jubbly .
Got back here by 9pm and fell a sleep with all the none
perishables still in the shopping bags I was that tired.

I did pick up a mailing box for Bobs documents and some
more stamps for the bills I write. The box will be ready to go
out on Monday.

Called Hillside about Big Red and Dave tells me it may take
another five days to get the sending unit back from Arizona.
He then has to put it in and test it before he can let the car
come home(don't want to rush him as I may end up having
to take it back) I have already told them the BB is ready for
its regular service according to the sticker in the window.

Surprise, surprise the watch I ordered from Amazon arrived
yesterday!
I used to be very scared of spiders but over the years I have
realized how important they are so catch them in a paper cup
and let them go outside. (if the cats don't find them first.)

Ian is 6ft.2ins and he kept putting his hand up to touch the
top of the door frame as he went through How he fitted in the
old MG Midget he had I will never know!
He still has the Mazda MX5 he bought but its made to fit taller
people and is still his pride and joy but is a fair weather car
as its a convertible. It does have a rag top but it won't keep out
pouring rain.

I think that Sylvia's other half is a passive aggressive person.
he seems to be paying her back for everything she put him through
by putting her somewhere cheap to end her days.
Its very childish of him when he can afford to give her more
than he has. It just shows how selfish he is.

The sunny is out this morning and its clear for a change which means
it could be warmer today. High 60s locally I guess, just right.

You two should watch out as it is going to be rough going over the plains
states Lots of turbulence happening. You may have to land and wait
for it to pass.

Carole you forget that California is a lot less humid usually than the East coast.
so I can cope with my portable A/C in the living room and fans in the other
rooms most hot days unless it becomes very humid again. I want to wait to have
the house rewired before I add anything else to the electric load on this house
or I might be asking for trouble that I don't need.

I'll get there eventually.
My motto is do it right the first time and its done.
Time to catch up on what was left undone yesterday so see you later Alligators!

Good afternoon all, lunch is bacon on cheese topped batches slightly toasted
Well bring the table more out into the patio when you come Carole
I always judge height by a door as a standard door is 6'6"" so the lad fills a door frame

Bond good job you attached the power washer to Vicky's
broom as with this storm brewing we had to fight off the WINDS
never mind the ,I TOLD Vicky not to inflate her
brolly ....
They are talking about 3'' of RAIN before it all passes over
affraid that would have been 30" of SNOW ....

Bond nice Avatar but do not sit me in the left corner chair ,I would
HATE to have a crawly drop on me from your bush/tree Shocked

Got my SS today ,a WHOLE $20 MORE than LAST months bounce
Ah well it helps pay the bills and the pound seems to be holding at $1.28

Anyway I shall be back later I will pass on the pancakes unless they
are the crepe kind as I do not like the regular thick pancakes they serve
over here you have to ask for crepes which are more oh la la French type
would LOVE a cheese muffin though

I think that's what it's about "Doing a runner"   Margaret.     The Hospital did say Sylvia needed to go into a Hospice, though left it up to Cliff which one.....he decided to put her into a Care Home.   Though she said she'd seen the doctor that morning....now whether she had I'm not sure    confused2   And yes Cliff does seem like a cheap skate, Sylvia used to say "Cliff would buy me anything" often I used to wonder but THIS he seems as though he's not putting Sylvia first at all.

Yes Carole that's what the Consultant told Cliff and Sylvia that she'd only got 3 months, that's what the back pain is.   Mad    Oh yes David came with me today I think he was shocked at how I rubbed her back and talked to her.....kneeling on the floor next to her bed.

BTW Margaret yes the Jag design centre is at Whitley.

Yes Bond Matt is 6ft 4 inches....remember he was a Rugby player, I got my foot caught as I was getting out of the back of Susan's car and Matt caught me I said "Oh thank you Matt though I'm glad you didn't throw me to your left"   Smile     Terry, the Best Man, talked about Matt playing Rugby, in his speech, though he'd injured his shoulder (for the 4th time) he said "But it's much better now isn't it Matt in fact he's thinking of going back to playing this coming season" oh Susan's face  Terry then said "Oh hasn't he told you?   oh well give you something to talk about tonight"

Carole we've got a power washer.....I'll pop over first to.....no first to your house then you can come with me to Margaret's .....afterwards we'll go SHOPPING bounce

Did I tell you about the wardrobes in MY bedroom and Susan's old bedroom AND Rob's bedroom......you've just checked the one  in your bedroom   run run run

See you at breakfast Bond..... run run run

WOT !! you went to see her ?
Had I known THAT I would have stuck around
Sounds worse than Fort Knox ,you kept saying
"we" did David go up with you then ?
Sounds like they have HER pegged as a runner
Marge with a Sensor Pad ,they had a sensor on
Gil's bed after he threatened to not do his pills
or have treatment and said he would not be there
so guess THEY took it he would TRY to walk out
obviously they did not realize that would not HAPPEN
the way he is on his feet ,I knew he was referring
to ending his life if he stopped taking his meds ...

They will probably have to put her on something stronger
as it continues ....
I thought I read that you said she only had 3 mths
Vicky was I wrong?
Even in her dreams she is very demanding then ,
only giving her {whom she does not realize } BEST MATE
two spoonfuls of ice cream

Marge sounds like a good plan ,I do not know how
you function on 40wattage in your house confused2

An old neighbor of ours owned a Power washing mobile
business ,I wanted to have him do ours but could not afford
it ,so if you can I say let someone else do it then you can cross
THAT off your "bucket list" of things to do as if I lived there
I know MY GOAL would be that Central Air system ASAP
I am finding the OLDER I get the LESS I can tolerate the heat
anything over 70f actually Mad

Nice Avatar Vicky and yes Matt IS tall ,or could it be that
Susan and YOU are titches duck run run

Bond bring my pink scooter back crying

BTW Vicky trying to do invoices in YOUR closets is
a DAUNTING JOB headbanger

Bond L & L please
Made  Frozen breaded Haddock fillets with home made chips
and some veggies I had left over cauliflower, carrots and broccoli
Cleaned plates tongue

Sounds like they have had a few escapee's.

Munch, Munch, Munch, this jar of Pickled onions is
going fast. Want another one Carole?
They are good for cleansing the blood you know.

The Jaguar design center is at Whitley is it not?
That facility was where I used to work when it
was Sir W,G. Armstrong-Whitworths.
Its also where I met Peter, bless his socks.

With the credit I have on Amazon I bought a retro
watch with an oblong face that looks very 30s.
I still have about $45 left so it looks like another
shopping spree is in order.

Gardeners showed up yesterday and I returned
their Hula Hoe which they left behind last week.
They try to be so quick as its just a tidy round
really, only the front lawn to cut and edge and
a few weeds to take care of and a good going
over with the leaf blower and they are done.

Need to call service station and check up on Big Red
today, I don't like to pester them too often because
I know they are doing the best they can and its only
this one thing that's holding them up.

Been thinking of have the whole outside of the house
power washed as the dirt and dust are a bit daunting for me.
Its a quick way to take care of a job I usually do once
a year but I have not had the time or energy this last
few years. There are companies who do this so will take
a look on line.
There is a lot that has been left undone as hubby deemed
it "NOT NEEDED". Like having the old insulation removed
from the attic space(its as least as old as the house).
The house needs to be rewired (its still only 40amp wiring)
It needs an attic exhaust fan.
Then I can think about A/C being installed.
The roof should be good for another 10 years at least.
We did upgrade all the windows and doors a few years ago
so some improvements but more need to be done to bring
it all up to date.

Vicky , some places do offer Hospice as well as regular care
(or at least they do here) it depends if they have trained
nurses and access to a Doctor..
It does sound to me though that this guys going the cheap route.

I think I said once before that Hospice care is limited to terminal
patients here who only have a few months to live. ( believe its
6 months or less).
It is different in the UK I know.
Its time I got moving here as the day is slipping away again. TTFN

cheers  Yes yes  on please Carole but get off the scooter first......though are you sure I was in front Carole?

Well .....roll of drums....  I'm here with news and confused2  everyones gone.  SIGH!!!!   been to visit Sylvia....ha thought that would make Carole come back in....after all she was supposed to be putting the    on not searching though my wardrobe to see what else I've bought without telling her...  as if    .... hee! hee! ....anyway went to visit Sylvia....have to sign in then report to the receptionist....she showed us to the lift, tapped some numbers and the lift arrived....out of the lift and "To the right, turn right and then it's the second door on the right"   so off we  run  run ....found her SMALL bedroom, which has a sensor pad by the side of her bed....of course I set the alarm off by kneeling *on the pad*    next to the bed to talk to her....someone came in and turned it off....well she wants to come home, they're all bossy, food is s%*@ and she's fedup....though she said "I dreamt of you last night"  I said I hoped it was a good dream, she said "We were fighting over an icecream" and who won I asked "I did" she said "Well that doesn't surprise me" I said  Smile  "But I let you have two spoonfulls" she told me....then she told me her back was hurting and they'd given her some pills, but it hadn't touched the pain.   There's two chairs but of course with the sensors, even being off, you couldn't put them near to the bed. No sides on the bed.....stayed 20 minutes and then it was getting back downstairs....for the lift you've got one set of numbers and for the stairs you need another set....and then another set to get out.    Shocked   fun and games.
As for the landscape gardens.... Mad  a couple of inches of grass and bush to look at....

Well that's my news......now Carole  NOW.

Yes AJ has been doing my hair for years, she used to come in to help her brother & sister in law, Tom & Helen who owned the hairdressers at the time and Louisa (who went to school with Rob) used to do my hair, AJ was only 14 then, when Louisa left to buy her own salon AJ took over doing my hair, and she's usually good just sometimes she does what she wants  , Debbie the receptionist says on those occasions "Go with another stylist" but I don't like doing that, Sad  but it's got to be done.

Waiting for the kids to turn up.

Shocked  CAROLE I thought you were driving scooter1   confused2 and what's that munching?

The building is only about two years & the decor doesn't look too bad BUT the bedrooms aren't what she'd like, what she's used to.....now the Market Bosworth was really nice but he'd have to pay for the pleasure of seeing his wife in nice surroundings. Mad Oh well I'll see tomorrow.

I'll pass on the drinks thanks Bond.

Speak tomorrow then......nighty night.

Here you go guys..... cheese  chips, crusty rolls and for Carole & Margaret  nono  share Carole....a large jar of pickled onions.

Though they say "Landscaped garden"  there are no photos of it  confused2  which makes me wonder what it's like if they're not proud enough to show it. littleBlond  Mmmm,   and I'm sorry but the photos show the bedroom  "Nothing to write home about"  and the room they all congregate is  cosy chairs and a bit away tables where they have their food    confused2  Sylvia will hate it, what's he playing at?  the ages are 65 plus....with mental  health issues or dementia or just old age .....NOTHING about Cancer   Mad    I can't understand it.   THOUGH where he'd have to pay if she went into the beautiful place in Market Bosworth this place is free the council pick up the tab.    Mmmm!!!

Drinks cabinet Bond.....it's a good job Sylvia can't chose her own place  Smile    talktohand  Sorry I'm picturing all these old biddy's sitting around  drunken  Sozzled.

I agree with Gil's nurse  nono   "Naughty Gil"

Oh Carole tell Gil the Jags Head Quarters are still in Coventry, Also the Design Centre is still in Coventry AND they're talking about restarting producing back in Coventry...anyway Castle Bromwich where they started building the Jag in 1998 and still do,  isn't too far from Coventry.

I love Brains faggots as well Carole.

Oh sorry Carole I was watching Master Chef.....  and they've sent me home.....now I'm watching The Pledge.   It's a debating programme.

Bond who are you TALKING about
bright eye eye confused2

I see Vicky logged in so maybe she has finished
putting PART of the world to rights

Again I agree Bond what kind of home has Chris
found for her

That is nasty ,some places you go to really DO SMELL
like old folk ....mainly as they do not CHANGE them often
enough if they are wearing "diapers" nono

I just had a piece of mail from David Michael that
I simply CANNOT accept ,he sent a check to pay
for the two deductibles left over from when Gil was taken
by Ambulance  first to the hospital and then to rehab

We happened to have been talking about the hospital
when he and Lin Sun came to visit and he said he knows
as his bill in San Fransisco when he fell last year only a couple
of blocks away from a hospital was $10.000 laughingly
I had said had I known I would have made "Gil" walk
as one trip was $900+ and there was a bill sent to us
for $250 that the insurance did not pick up
What a wonderful grandson I have

As to the Faggots ONLY YOU CAN TELL US

Good evening all, I b
Don't know about a standard old folks home? Do they have nurses on hand? People to Change the bed on a regular basis, the was a great old folks home just by the hospital they had bingo, hairdressers and nail ladies, as people are moved out the rooms are completely decorated and can have a drinks cabinet, we were able to get my mother in Law in but she died after 3 days we did look at alot and it was one that didn't smell of we when you went in
I said the same is Mr Brains the same Brains of the old days?

Well Marge you beat me to it as I
was doing a quick run over the back lawn
when you text me on FB saying you had PC problems
but I see your OK ....
Yes Gil was happy to say he had the LAST Jag made in Coventry
as after 2000 they were made somewhere else we believe

That is nice Ian keeping his in ....

Nurse been got a 130/85 reading on Gil's BP but said she will
have to sign him off after the 27th as that is all the Insurance
will allow unless Gil comes down with something else Shocked

Told her what he said to me ,she scolded him saying that
was not nice nono

I said the same thing about Sylvia Marge unless they are only
giving her Morphine ,maybe we will know more tomorrow after
Vicky's visit

OK so I am doing ham steaks with stewed tomato's and jacket potato
Catch you later scooter1

PostSubject: Re: Morning everyone..It's a new week...11/08/2014   Fri May 12, 2017 5:11 am

Hi guys,
Had a senior moment this morning and loused up my computer.
I emailed Ian and he talked me through it so everything is back on course now.

Our dinner group arrived at the Olive Garden not realizing that Wednesday
is Mothers day in Mexico! so the place was full to bursting and the wait
would have been2 hours!
We made a decision to call the Black Bear down the street and they could
accommodate us ASAP. so we went there instead.
Next week we will try the Olive Garden again!

Had my hair cut yesterday and feel so much better as it had grown out
fuller on one side more than the other and it was driving me crazy.

Been feeling a bit sorry for myself for the last few days but am over it now.

Some time ago Ian was in a play called Exonorated about four death row
inmates saved by a group of attorneys who looked into their cases.
He has been asked to do a reading from the play along with some of
the other cast members next Tuesday. This is to raise money so the
group can keep doing the work they are doing.
One person in attendance will be the only woman exonorated who
will be playing herself!
There is no pay for this but it will be good for Ian to use his acting chops
as its been a while.
Ian has had a couple he knows in town for a few days and they took a
helicopter tour over London. Seems Ian talked to the pilot about the helicopter
and found out it was a Robinson 22 which is manufactured at Torrance airport
of all places! Ian was telling the pilot that's where he grew up.
I said its like me seeing Jaguars here, I say to myself "I know where you come from".

I don't know if that's a good idea about Sylvia going into a regular old folks home but
if she only needs pain meds and no further treatment, they can take care of that or
they would not have accepted her.
When Peter was looking for a place for his Father, most of the places had waiting lists.
This was down in Devon!
He found a lovely place which was a converted Mansion with a view over an airfield
which his Dad loved, listening to the sound of the engines as he had lost his sight by
then.
Got a lot to take care of today so better get started. TTFN

Well good morning Vicky ,YES indeed
THAT is THE LOOK ,check out how the
curtain color even brings out the wood accents
in the room ..

Wow so Cliff has plonked her in an old peoples home
instead of a hospice with someone as
far gone as she is I don't think I would have done THAT
And he says she is weakening ,well if she is continuing
to bondchamps & ,I can understand why confused2

Mine is not feeling 100% today ,on my way out I asked
if he would be OK ,he said he felt weird ,upon asking
in what way ,he replied "I think I am going to DIE" affraid
I said then I will not go now ,so he said talktohand NO go
I will be OK .....
You can imagine how FAST I :driver: to get my pills
and :driver: home ,thinking I might find him "gone"

While getting my prescription I ran into one of my old work
mates Pat Cross has Crones disease and is only now looking better
after losing so MUCH of his intestines ...his dad whom he looks
after after his Mom died is in a rehab and he said the same thing
,he has had no time to take care of HIMSELF until they put his dad
in there ,and how it would all start over again when he comes home
You do not realize just HOW much it takes out of you

Anyway nurse will be here at 1130am
so back later run run

LOVE the drapes Vicky
bet they set the new furniture off well
and carpet ....

Oh this nurse was good as she said when she first
went in {which I did not feel} if I hurt you say so
and it was only after my Artery started rolling that
it hurt ,so she came out ,she got in my hand Ok
its just that I did not want to GIVE any blood confused2

Hi Marge one place I ALWAYS wanted to go to Olive Garden
but unfortunately all this happened to Gil so never made it..

Have no idea what will happen to us when we go ,I do
have insurance on Gil that we had to take out when we
were on the Mortgage of the house in Stratford ,its not one
you can borrow on it only gets paid out AFTER he passes
I have just about enough to cover me via Colonial Pen
for when I go which costs me $97 a month ,other than
that they will have to throw me in a box and bury it in the back garden

My Mum and Step Dad's ashes are still at Wendy's as after Mum
passed my step dad had her sitting on his mantle ,Wendy wants
to scatter them somewhere but was going to share them with our other
siblings but they have never shown up to get them ..
I told Wendy Mum would like to be scattered NEAR the sea ,but not
IN IT ,she was afraid of the water after almost drowning when she
was younger ,so they were thinking of doing it on the Hoe if
allowed or not confused2
My Nan got put on the rose garden at the Canley Crem orders from
Grandad Pengelly much against her wishes as she wanted to be BURIED
in the Fox family plot in Reading ,so we KNOW she will be haunting him
where ever he may be

Anyway I must away again ,I need at least 8 hours Sleep UNINTERRUPTED
I know that will never happen though

OK whose pouring

Hi all, coffee please, yes I used to  go once a month for The blood test now it's been every two months, the wind nurses are great there is a male nurse that looks like he plays for Hull Kingston Rovers his coat didn't fit him very well and he looked like he had walked in from the butchers down the road, he was very heavy handed, one day I thought he Had pinned me to the arm of the chair, he seemed to think the harder he was the better it was but he's getting the hang of it now, last time the used a machine that nest read a tiny spot of blood from a pin prick on my little finger so no blood out of my arm so why not every time?
Nice curtains

Hello guys.....hope all is well with your blood Carole, not such a good report from Gil's doctor though.    As for MY doctors telephone   they're stupid.....I had the same telephone  I had with my doctor months ago BEFORE I went to see the Consultant and after I'd had my procedures..... confused2 so why on earth was he telephone  me up for, I'm sure they've read the the letter the hospital sent to the surgery TWICE Mad    Oh I wasn't worried Carole  I know I was fine.   The last time I had my blood taken Margaret ( a couple of months ago and something else the doctor said "In a month or so go and have a blood test and we'll keep an eye on it"   ) the nurse was just like that....couldn't feel a thing, David couldn't believe how quickly I was out, I told her my name and date of birth, sleeve up, needle in, plaster on and out I went   confused2  brilliant.

I'll have to put that book on my *to buy* list Carole....     I've finished the one I was reading.....wasn't much cop and now I've started another Jane Austen "Northanger Abbey" which was the first one she wrote but the last one published AFTER she'd died.

You wouldn't have been able to mention THE WITCH though Bond.    confused2  pity.

Yes I love the Black Country Museum Margaret.....not been for about 10 years though, must go again.     Keniloirth Castle is how David & I got together him saying he lived in Kenilworth...got my ears pricked up at that.     And the rest is history.

I'll make the drinks  run run run    oh avatar are the new curtains.

I love it when a nurse takes blood and you cannot feel
the needle and it leaves no bruises. Some just don't
have the soft touch or may need glasses.
Its time I made my annual check up appointment
with my doctor or I won't get my prescriptions
renewed.

Got a call from Rice Mortuary (the place that took care
of Peter) they have a file they want to give me (I
expect it has a evaluation of services in it).
That's at 2pm tomorrow.
They are a top notch outfit, doing everything that I
asked and did not try and add things on to bump up
the bill.
I do have a question for them and its about how you get a
license to take ashes out of the country. At some point
that is my aim and I would like to have details laid out
for Ian and Melanie before I fall off the perch.
(I don't think that will be anytime soon.)

I also like the Narrow boats as a way to spend a holiday.
Ian's In Laws did it a few times and loved it.
Peter and I went to the Museum in Gloucester one year
and came back with a small toll painted pitcher.

Pam and Ken took us out to lunch at a canal side pub
(all Olde World) and all the boats parked at the key side
had TV dishes on them and everyone was inside them
watching the football!
Have any of you been to the Black Country open air
Museum! it had a coal mine you could tour and a stretch
of canal that ran under or near Dudley Castle as far as I
can remember. Again, Pam's doing.
On every trip she had something lined up. One year it was
a local steam fair and the reenactment at Bosworth of
Richard the IIIs downfall. We did Warwick Castle and Kenilworth
Castle other times. Peter insisted he climb Guy's Tower to take
photos! (and him with MS) Pam and I waited for him to wave
at us sitting on a bench in the shade!
The old Porridge Pot tea room was were Peter and I stopped for
tea and cakes in the row of Tudor buildings across the street.
Now they have a fancy hotel named after it but the little
tea room was closed the last time we went.
I am trying to remember the canal side pub we also went to,
I think it was called The Greyhound. That's how we ended up
at the Griff too.
They used to live in Stockingford if I remember right.
By then Pam was also diagnosed with MS but if you saw her and Peter
together you wouldn't know it. Warriors both.
Enough of the old memories for today.

The weather is about the same (what a drag!) Light overcast with a
few sprinkles locally.

Going to see if I can get my hair trimmed as its grown out a bit
uneven.

Its dinner out tonight and its Italian, the Olive Garden is a chain
restaurant, it does a roaring trade with all the medical buildings
around it.
Nothing else going on around here at the moment so its TTFN

After ALL THAT Bond you will be needing
to use your son's work out machines nono

Ok Dr was here an hour brought all the results of
the tests etc long story short ,the artery that pumps
the blood back OUT of Gil's heart is smaller than normal ,
he could have surgery to open it up but at his age that could
be dangerous so unless he gets shortness of breathe again
we have to leave it and just monitor it ,
He signed a paper today saying if his heart stops which it could as this
Corticobasil advances making his muscles become weaker
that he does not want to be resuscitated and be allowed to go
peacefully ,and he has to wear a bracelet stating this for the
First Responders  EMT...

Other things like why his neck is hurting him all the time is because
its  twisted & going in spasms so said to try Icy Hot patches which
I have ,or Ben Gay or get someone to massage it ......

He said he basically has the heart of a 40 yr old except for this opening .......
One thing he MUST do every 2 hrs is use the air machine they gave him
as his oxygen goes very low when he forgets to take deep breaths ,otherwise
he could get Pneumonia or his heart would not be getting enough to pump
blood around his body.....

His Assistant Brenda will be out in three months unless anything
else happens in the mean time

Anyway Bond whose in the picture then

MORNING MARGE
