PostSubject: Morning everyone..It's a new week...11/08/2014   Wed Jul 05, 2017 5:30 am

First topic message reminder :

Well, he just said sorry. I keep forgetting that he is 8 hours ahead and
has probably been messing with the Chase stuff for some time before
messaging me. Nothing to be done now until the new card actually
arrives.
I don't think I will be taking these blood pressure pills much longer
they are giving me a headache, don't know if its dehydration or something
else but I have increased my fluid intake in hopes that that is all it is.
I go back in about 10 days so will take them until then.
I am sure she will give me another blood test so we can compare the two.

I need to call the Gastroenterologists office tomorrow to make an appointment.

Finally got all the leaves out of Black Beauty vents and rain channels.

Lorna called and said that Lucy (our neighbor who is now in a retirement
hotel) wants to have a get together like we did last year. Its all last minute
as usual. Luckily I am only down for chips and dip and soft drinks and water.
I also need to get a couple of bags of ice for the ice chest.
I don't even know whose garden we will be in yet!
Now I can go and get my breakfast! I don't do well handling this kind of stuff
as soon as I wake up. TTFN

tired morning
I really slept in this morning, woke up about 30 minutes ago!
The TV weather people say its already 76 degrees but feels like 84
with the humidity factor and it supposed to stay this way for several
more days.
The spaghetti dinner was good last night but don't know why Lorna
and Yolanda did it when Lorna is still packing and has lots left to do.

I am going over to Lorna's today to get my briefing so will be taking
my note book and picking up my written guide. I just hope she has
left me the name and phone number of her Vet this time as that's the
reason it cost so much last time as I had to take Loki to a 24 hour
vet hospital first.(he is still in good health I am glad to say)
I also need her mobile number which right now I cannot find.

Yolanda will be taking the morning shift until about 2pm and I get
the rest of the day and the fishes (they are used to being fed early evening)
We try to keep them all on their regular timetable as much as possible.
The way the sun heats up the concrete, the dogs could get burnt feet if
we take them out at the wrong time of day.

Ian messaged me that he and Rebecca are home again.
Melanie says she is feeling bad but still swimming which means she is doing
the best she can under the circumstances.

Ian was a pain as he stopped napping at that age so it was go.go,go from the
time he awoke at 6am until he fell asleep where he was at 8pm,mostly on the floor
somewhere.
Then he was out for the night! (so was I)

My savior was Summer school here which ran for half a day for four weeks after
regular school let out. In some cases it was remedial for some students to catch up
but mostly it was fun things to do. I went on a few field trips to the museums.
The Natural History Museum had chicken eggs hatching in an incubator where you
could see them. We went to the LA zoo(where Ian fell in the reflecting pool while
we were waiting to go in!) It was my eye opener as to what other boys that age
are like. Happy times.

I am back though I wished I had not GONE
When i got there Gil was in therapy I could
see by his face something was up,when I asked
he said very nastily "you better watch what your
saying when you think I am sleeping" excuse me confused2
I asked what he was talking about and he was on about
when the speech therapist and I were talking about the garden
yesterday after he had dozed off and I was showing her pictures
Then he said something about "BOB" my ex that I had told her
HE helped clear the garden when we moved here ,which was
not true as I said to her that in 2013 Gil had been able to clear
all the big rock off as his arm was not that bad then headbanger

That was all it took to get me all upset again
He was also complaining about his right knee again and they asked
me if he had fallen the answer being no

To top everything else off Monday when he has to go back to the hospital
for a follow up visit ,our insurance will not pay for transportation there
and back and being as he has to go in a wheel chair its going to cost me
$140 round trip for a medical van ,and the home will send an Aid with him
if I cannot go with him ,and this van wanted it paid Monday
I told the nurse I do not have it so I called them and they will bill me and
take payments ,so far I am $640 in the hole as the bill for the two Ambulance trips
will be coming soon $250 each trip headbanger
What do other people do when on a fixed income I wonder crying

So not in the best of moods
Its hotter than HECK
I will be back as I have to cook dinner

Entertained me Carole.....in fact we were talking about when our kids were little, under school age, what we used to do with them, the reason was Jessica's going nuts  about Wilf even though he goes to play group twice a week and Jessica's Mum looks after him while Jessica is working.     Mad     confused2

Been into Leamington...........not been there for a while.

Seeing Bev tomorrow.

What happened to all the schools getting out in
July and it was 6weeks holiday before returning in
September
I remember when we came over here April 28th 1967
and Tracie only went until the beginning of June then
they were off 11 weeks
The kids got SO BORED unless they attended summer camp
which we could not afford any way ,the first couple of weeks
was ok then it was trying to find things to keep her and her
brothers who were 4 and 2 occupied
Weekends were OK as we always drove to the shore

Is it today you entertain or SHE entertains YOU

Just finished my load of colored clothes put the whites in and waiting on
the other load to dry washingmachine

75f and climbing but OH SO HUMID today 87% Humidity and its ONLY 8am
Dew point is at 72' NASTY as Marge will tell you when it gets THAT high Mad

B O N D L & L's please tut sweet

Morning Bond ,HOT and HUMID day here
once the sun comes up around 30c
Keep forgetting the kids are still in school
over there aren't they? all ours broke up in June

Well I have washingbasket  to do today ,then up
to see what Gil is doing

Called our insurance company yesterday and the "plan"
we have does NOT waiver the copay on the Ambulance
fee if your admitted ,so we will be getting ANOTHER $500 bill for the two trips
Shocked  waiting to see how they get him to the hospital
next Monday as well ,there is a Medivan that takes wheel chairs
back n forth but not sure who pays for THAT headbanger
Tracie said yesterday that they have to take payments, yes but over
$100 payments as I asked last time about paying say $75 a month
they would not hear of it Rolling Eyes
Where do they think seniors on a fixed income get this extra $$$$

Ah well was never meant to be wealthy

Catch you later

Oh MORNING VICKY ....
Morning Marge

Here I be ,,,,
Went to see Gil while I still felt like going
had a call from his nurse before I went seems
the Surgery team at the hospital where he was want
a follow up visit on the 24th at 2pm ,I asked how he was
getting there ,she said they would be contacting the insurance
to see if it would be covered and if I did not or could not go with
him they would send an Aid
Anyway when I got there Amanda the speech therapist was just coming
in so I sat in on the session ,then she showed me her first evaluation
and what he did or did not do so well on ,to which Gil fell asleep
while we talked "gardens" funnytvprog she is bringing me a cutting
of an Orange Trumpet Vine

Anyway as I said here I be ...
Marge sorry to hear about Melanie .....
and Vicky ,sorry for you also ,that is what you get for being so NICE funnytvprog

Bond put that peashooter DOWN

Just had she's got birds under her roof , she can hear them "What do I do what do I do" just leave them the babies will fly out after their parents when they're ready. Anyway I've given her the number for the RSPB just to give her advice.

Sorry Melanie's been poorly again Margaret.

I know here that our medical group does not do cataract surgery
until they are at a certain level, mine are a 2 and I think they wait
until it is at least a 4 unless I say it interferes with my ability to
drive safely and the DMV might not let me drive. (so what else is new)

its two steps forwards and one step back until Gil can get to a place of
stability again Carole. Its like trying to balancing a see-saw on the straight and level.

Lorna has insisted we have another patio dinner tonight, same guest list
but this time Yolanda will be cooking Spaghetti and Meatballs.
I have been asked to do the salad this time.
At least she won't be taking the RV trip to see her sister in Colorado later
this summer as they talked on the phone and at this time her sister is
cancer free. confused2

It seems Lorna and co are going to Hawaii with only a carry on case each.
I guess you don't need a lot of clothes running around in all that tropical
heat but it is for 10 days. the difference is that they are staying in a condo unit
so have access to a washing machine and dryer.

It is still over 50% humidity here and they are saying it will top out at around 80f
near the beach but in the 100s inland. We are being assured that the humidity is
going to go down in a day or so.

Finally gave Melanie a poke and found out she has been really ill for the last 5 days.
Plus she has had another bill from the place doing her PIC line clean and service
each week. I always know when something is up with her when it goes quiet for
too long. I believe the PIC line is for nourishment only, not meds and if they can
they want it kept ready for when she has surgery as she will need it again afterwards.
Poor girl must be melting in all that heat even with the evaporation coolers.

I am doing OK so far, I wear the lightest things I can find and if I feel I need it
I can go to the shopping mall and have a cold drink sitting in their A/C.
I have a mound of ice in the icemaker and if I put it in a bowl on a table with a fan on a stand
behind it ,it will act like an evaporation cooler and lower the temperature a few more degrees.

Ian and Rebecca are due back home tomorrow later in the day. I will be able to tell him that I
did survive while he was gone.
See Froome got the yellow jersey back in the Tour de France but by a small margin.
I see there is a team of diabetic cycle racers each fitted with an insulin pump, they are
training to be allowed in the Para Olympic games. Science is a wonderful thing.

Well managed to get to see my GP's APRN
about my arm ,she went to see the GP anyway
after she saw what it looked like and he wants me
to see a Dermatologist asap gave me three places
to call and said only to take a Benadryl at night for the itching
and to stop the anti -itch cream I have been putting on it
I also had to go get blood work done on the 2nd floor as
he wanted to see if I could be allergic to any foods ,and something
else ,so did all that and she said its hard to get in to see these Dr's
but managed to see the one closest to my GP's office on Thursday
at 1145am ,he said if all else fails I will have to go back on the steroids
which I did not want to do as they make you gain weight
I am meeting with Linda at 9am Thursday so will not be able to chat THAT
long over breakfast or I could ask her if she wants to do Friday instead

Spencer has taken his car back to the body shop ,guess he figured
he would do it while he could as the bumper on both sides he says is "wavy"
and should not be from when they repaired it a few weeks ago ,he was just leaving
as I pulled up

Getting hot here as well Vicky and only going to get more so Mad

Are you sure its not Bond sitting up in that tree spitting at you Rolling Eyes

Anyway just made myself a salad with some cottage cheese before I go see Gilly
Back later run run run

Oh yes a nurse/helper at a Care Home over here would be able to put drops in eyes they wouldn't be able to do the Op though. Oh it's still the eye department Carole but at a hospital.

It's hot outside......I kept having water dropped on me though confused2 very odd.

bathroom I said 625am ,so he said Ok I can take
my shower at 630am ,and that is the last I heard
of him and I am not telephone him again its now 755am

I keep getting reminded that he is a big boy now so confused2

Hope your keeping a eye out for any peeping Tom's or Bonds
Vicky nono
Ripping the sheets @ Bond funnytvprog

We do not have it done at the hospital here Vicky but at an eye care
place like where George had his done when I had to take him,its like
an off site place where they do eye surgery , and I remember where
he lived in the assisted living home Aytria that the nurse there had to administer
those drops ....I dread having to get him to a place like this and do the drops

Will not be going up to see Gil till around lunch time Vicky
I understand he will have up's and downs ....

Yes Buddy was always very curious used to watch me through
the bushes funnytvprog

Yes I know, Vicky has been known to rip the sheets in the passed but I think they would be worth it
I've been going to say on the last couple of posts but little Almond eyes put me off, that there were notices around the lakes saying don't let your dog swim in the Lake as the algae is bad for them

Maybe Sir Graham's still on holiday?

Over here we're told we've got a Cataract, or one on it's way, when we go and have our eyes tested, if it's to be seen to NOW the Optician makes an appointment at the local hospital to have it done......then, after you've had the op, you've to have drops put in your eye so many times a day for a couple of weeks.    Doubt a Care Home would be able to do it Carole anyway.       Hope you find Gil much improved.

Later.     WOW get those shoes.....no no I don't mean "Get those shoes" just get those shoes.  confused2

Great photo of Buddy.

That's a nice picture of you Vicky very "Spring" looking ,
don't know about the cataract op Vicky we were never told about it
when we got our new glasses ,it was this new GP who said he has
them and they would not do that where he is as he is only in for
rehab short term after this head trauma, the insurance would not allow
him to stay there for that unless he was a permanent resident
No I would have to get him to the office where they do it and back

Yes Sir G seems to have given up on us ,not even a PEEK
he would though have had something to say about your choo choo
ride Bond I am sure funnytvprog

So going to be shopping in the Nuneaton area @ Bond looking for
anything in particular

Well Spencer is going in late this morning ,he is normally up at 440am
so when 5am rolled around and he was not up ,I never know whether
to text or telephone him as sometimes he gets upset being woke up confused2
Anyway I called down the stairs and he said he was going in later
Of course this had to be today when I have washing to do as I need to take
a couple of tops back up to Gil and need to take the ones they labeled headbanger

Having breakfast Thursday with Little Linda ,I asked her if she was available
and she answered "open and ready" lol

Not looking forward to the 90's temps this week but what ya gonna do confused2

Ok so back later be good run run run run run

Sorry to hear Gil's not as good Carole, though often they do have a step back, hopefully you'll find him much better today.        Any chance of him having his Cataracts seen to Carole, maybe the last time he had his eyes tested they should have got arranged it.

Been to the doctors......knew it, if I went to Graham it'd "How are you?"   "Fine"  "Ok see you next year"   any other doctor it's  "You've not had a blood test for.....er"  reads screen   me "Last year"  doctor "So you need another one"  so I've got to have a blood test,  in a weeks time or so   talktohand  it's up to me.....no cakes for a couple of day. littleBlond  and a week AFTER that I've to have a health check.

Ok back later......oh avatar is when we went to Coombe Abbey for tea for two in May.

Hi all drinks, it was very good at Kingsbury water park and out of all the weekends this weekend was a festival of narrow gauge railway with 40 engines and rolling stock (just thought I wonder if Graham was there) so we had to go for a ride, I think the man said it's three quarters of a mile to the halfway station then you can get off have a walk around the park and catch the train back on the same ticket and as there was loads of trains you O ly had to wait a few minutes,
Mrsb off to the shop I'm not doing a bit in the garden after a tidy up then a bit of shopping in Nuneaton
More drinks

Sorry to be late ,Gil was not as good today as
he was yesterday speech wise and for what ever
reason he had had an accident in bed and his aid
was stripping his bed and washing him up when I arrived
Glad he has this aid all week she is very good with him
He said he could not find the call button, but it's right there
by his hand and Lorna had said she had just been feeding him his lunch

I stayed two hours but it's hard just "sitting there " and he was not talking much
plus I was falling to sleep so left
I brought a card home that he SAID he had won $50,but it was only $20
He is having a problem scratching them plus he cannot see good with the
Cataracts ,but I guess it keeps him happy ...
Hopefully the Dr will have seen him sometime tomorrow ,but I cannot
see him coming home for at least a couple of weeks unless he gets really
strong on his legs etc

Marge sounds like your going to be a busy bee ,but I am sure it keeps
you feeling young being active etc

Anyway Vicky will speak tomorrow nite nite

Shirley gives her work away. I told her about a shop in Leamington where I went to look around at painting on sale for hundreds and I said to David "Look at those Shirley's are far far better"  other Artists have seen some of her work and told her to have an exhibition and "SELL"  but she hasn't.    She paints for her enjoyment.    confused2

BTW Carole & Margaret no memento from Cliff, not a surprise really.  Though I did dream of Sylvia last night and she said, very clear, "Tell Cliff to give you the trinket in the little red pouch in my jewellery box" I said "Bet it's not there any longer Sylv" and she said "Oh It is"  when I woke up I thought "Oh that's weird"    Craig said the day we were all together "You should get a memento, you've been a good friend to my Mum"  I bet Linda has.  Oh well,

I like that Margaret "Stand in Zoo Keepers" it's a good job someone can step in to be the Stand In zoo keeper.

Sleep tired morning
Hi there,
Lorna decided to have an outdoor dinner at her house for
the stand-in zoo keepers while she will be gone for 10 days
in Hawaii.
It seems that Yolanda and I will be holding the fort alone
for some of the time as Andy and Joanna will also be gone
for a few days at the same time.
My friend Ann who lives in Arizona is going to be local visiting her
son the 23rd through the 30th
Lorna and the Chows will be in Hawaii the 19th through the 29th.So Yolanda
will be walking Andy and Joanna's dogs at least once a day and hopefully
she will be taking care of the 3 large aquariums and two small ones as they
are only fed once a day. She will also give the dogs and cats their morning
chow and I get the afternoon and evening feedings.

I have fed the cats and dogs before and can let them out into the patio for a
quick tiddle throughout the day about every couple of hours or so.
As they are older dogs they tend to sleep more during the day in this heat.
They do have to be supervised as the Coyotes are still roaming the N/H.
Yolanda and I are going to meet at Lorna's house on Monday to finalize
how we are going to work with each others schedule.

Andy and Joanna are Polish by birth but have lived in the States almost as
long as we have, The Chows are Asian and they have the same history as
the rest of us. With one Canadian and one Brit to make it an international
crew. We have all lived on the same street for years and years along with
our other International and American neighbors.
If you walk dogs you soon make friends. WhenI walk Lorna's dogs, the dogs get
recognized first and Kona by name!
Its starting to get a little sticky in here so time to get the air moving. TTFN

Tea it is missy, lovely picture
I think out of all the people that exhibited only a couple of sales so it's more about letting people see your work and chatting with other artists, and the woman behind me said my work was selling too cheap, she never sold one??!!
Your Teas on a tray it's still nice enough to sit out

I thought I and gone deaf as the kids have just gone
I've been back to the church and taken my pictures down, helped the old ladies with there's down, pictures pictures
Had a bit of a chat with the lady who work is the avatar, they are made up of two photos or even three years, you may have a good photo of the animal but poor background or a good photo of a landscape and the animals are too small so this lady merges the two
I'll sort out the information

We have tulips & cyclamen Carole (planted before we got Benjie) BUT he's a dog which doesn't eat plants or flowers or mushrooms, we used to make sure no wild mushrooms were growing behind the shed, (still do) but as I said he doesn't eat plants, flowers, I've always been careful about not dropping leaves from certain vegetables on the kitchen floor....when he was a puppy we'd shout "LEAVE"  and he always did.   We're very very careful, same goes for Nessie......

Susan told me the other week about this woman on the TV who threw cheese with a bit of mould into the kitchen bin which one of her dogs knocked over and they ate it.....they started throwing up and she rushed the dog to the vet, which was kept in for treatment, she got home and discovered her other dog had licked up the other dogs sick (Sorry guys) and that was throwing up she had to rush THAT dog to the vet but sadly THAT dog died the woman didn't realise mould on bread or cheese can kill a dog, the woman asked for everyone with a dog to be informed.....Susan put it on FB as well as telling everyone she knew with a dog.  Our kitchen bin couldn't be knocked over anyway but I'm still careful what goes into my kitchen bin.    To be honest I always thought EVERYONE knew mould on cheese or bread was bad for dogs.        Onions, peppers, & Chilli are bad for dogs, of course, and chocolate can certainly kill.   Hope your sister & BIL knows.
