PostSubject: Morning everyone..It's a new week...11/08/2014   Wed Jul 05, 2017 5:30 am

First topic message reminder :

Well, he just said sorry. I keep forgetting that he is 8 hours ahead and
has probably been messing with the Chase stuff for some time before
messaging me. Nothing to be done now until the new card actually
arrives.
I don't think I will be taking these blood pressure pills much longer
they are giving me a headache, don't know if its dehydration or something
else but I have increased my fluid intake in hopes that that is all it is.
I go back in about 10 days so will take them until then.
I am sure she will give me another blood test so we can compare the two.

I need to call the Gastroenterologists office tomorrow to make an appointment.

Finally got all the leaves out of Black Beauty vents and rain channels.

Lorna called and said that Lucy (our neighbor who is now in a retirement
hotel) wants to have a get together like we did last year. Its all last minute
as usual. Luckily I am only down for chips and dip and soft drinks and water.
I also need to get a couple of bags of ice for the ice chest.
I don't even know whose garden we will be in yet!
Now I can go and get my breakfast! I don't do well handling this kind of stuff
as soon as I wake up. TTFN

We are in for more heat here this week, the HIGH
which is over us is not budging and that is keeping the
tropical storm weather over Texas.
Its 79f at 10am locally but going into the 100s inland.

It was quite comfortable yesterday as we had a nice breeze
from the ocean coming our way.

Nice little story this morning on my ABC news app on my i-pad.
the "Cajun Navy" has shown up in Houston!
Its is a group of volunteers from New Orleans with small boats
to help in the rescues. their spokesperson said that it was a
case of you helped us during Katrina so we are helping you.
They are well organized and are using two or three internet
sites to help find people who could not get through to 911
(our emergency number here in the states).

Now one of the old levees has cracked in spite of releasing the water
as fast as they can to keep the flood level down, its backing up into
more N/H's. These old levees are compacted dirt but have not been
tested like this in many years.
The Corp of Engineers who do the repair work will rebuild them
with gigantic rocks as a base and pour concrete over them and make them
higher.
All round the gulf of Mexico is land that in a lot of cases is below or at sea level.
There are no underground burials in New Orleans because of the high water table
in the soil.
If everyone on the east side of states inhales a deep breath and we blow from here
maybe we can get this high to move.

Not a lot going on with me, just every day chores. I did re measure the spaces for
the dishwasher and the fridge. The dishwasher is correct but there might be another
fridge that will fit the space I have so going to put the item # in the computer and see
what the specifications are to make sure before I actually order.
Picked up a another batch of tiny cans of moist cat food with lots of gravy in them.
I can ration them out by only putting half a can in each dish 3 times a day. they
eat kibbled in between .
They think I can't remember how many times I feed them so they try to trick me by
following me each time I go in the kitchen!
I got to clip their front claws the other day, something that has to be done about every
two weeks. Being indoors they don't wear them down like they do outside. When they
are sharp points its torture when they knead me!

Hope we hear from Vicky soon so Carole can stop chewing her fingers to the nub!

PS, Bond, you were right about the plane you identified, they were training aircraft
used in the flight display. It was the same here for a long time but the F18s used
now are combat ready so its a display of the latest weapons to other counties
who will never have anything like them. (I only boast because Peter was in the
development of this aircraft from the prototype.) He put in over 10 years on
it until he retired.
I must start work here as my list contains stuff left over from yesterday. TTFN

That is something my Mum and step Dad
enjoyed for a while before she could not travel any more
due to her health Bond and something we do not have over
here for the seniors what a great little trip....bet Vicky
would enjoy it as well not sure about David though

Well all I can say is she MUST be ill as that is the only time
she goes MIA with out posting ....I am thinking of setting up
an emergency button that a person can PUSH when ILL so
we know they cannot ,along with a message like

"I am not feeling up to par but will be back soon "

so we KNOW they are still in the land of the living ....

You know the WORST part of a friendship ,is when you do not
hear from them as "the NOT KNOWING" is the worse thing Sad

Bond whats the weather like there today ?
We have cloud coverage here today will only hit 70's if
we are lucky all because of this system moving up the coast
that could MAYBE give us a tinkle of rain over night as well

I shall return to see if SOMEHOW Vicky managed to send a S>O>S
out

Oh Oh Bond could she be having the affects
of her Folic acid pills confused2
Ahh and your right I think she DID say Friday ,then I guess
Rob will watch Benjie for them being a weekend

Well I know my sister enjoyed her Bank Holiday Monday
they took a :driver:  with Henry dogwalk to Teinmouth
they had a meal at a cafe and the owners had bowls of water
out for any pets ,she said they walked along the front and saw all the
sun bathers enjoying the sunny

Looks like Galveston is going to be slammed as Harvey continues
and they are air lifting the residents out as I said its basically an island
connected by a long bridge ,they say the store house that supplies
them food has been flooded
And they are trying to release millions of gallons of water from dams
as they are threatening to burst which would be catastrophic........
Also Louisiana is also getting hit

Ok so lets hope we hear sooner than later how Vicky is

Morning Marge hope YOUR day and night were good

Cooler here today only in the 50's right now but BOY does
it feel good ,a prelude to whats to come in a few weeks @

Thanks Marge could not have said it any better
Another problem is they are also needing blood
and other supplies which as Marge said is going to take time
because of the transportation difficulties getting there
Coast Guard helicopters from as far away as Rhode Island
about 4 hrs NORTH of CT are there helping lift people to
safety ,and our Red Cross here in CT are already en-route
by road and getting as CLOSE as they can

Well looks like the Brits are enjoying their good weather
so will await their return
run run run run run

FEMA was already on alert thanks to Mr.Trump.
(government agency who gives the go ahead for all
resources the government has to fly in to the area)
Thank goodness one good thing came out of Katrina,
Usually it took 4 days of written documents to get
them moving).

There are crews from all over the country going in but
get delayed when they can't get into an airfield close
to the disaster area. Right now, the need is for anything
that floats. There are mass evacuation centers being set up.
So everything that can be done is being done but it all takes
time which some don't have.
Military helicopters are ferrying and rescuing as long as the crews
and the birds hold out.
This is on an unbelievable scale like Katrina in New Orleans.

Thank goodness one hospital in the path evacuated its Neonatal
unit ahead of time , about a dozen premies went out in incubators.
I know that there are Paramedic crews going in from here from
different fire stations, and volunteer search and rescue groups
who like the Life boat service are on call 24/7.
Its like when earthquakes happen in remote places, they cannot get there
fast enough.
Texas is a BIG state, its just lost its main oil refineries to flood water.
Houston is a large shipping port, none of the cruise ships who rode out
the storm at sea can get back in or the freighters !
Logistically it is a nightmare!
The one good thing is that most agencies do train for this situation so
that they have a go-to plan. The company that makes Tide detergent
has a big trailer with a dozen washing machines built in it run by a generator
so people can wash and dry their clothes! The Red Cross and Salvation Army
are there in full force.
Even the Humane Society set up places to take in rescued or lost animals.

Well, Ian just tried to call me but somewhere down the line it wasn't working
so I think I will send him a FB message to let him know its not my end. TTFN

Just been watching some of the rescues
in Texas ,neighbors helping each other as
the first res ponders are UNDULATED with
calls for HELP
Just showed a lady with 30 others on the roof of
a apartment building with no food no water
The Governor of Texas has ordered more high water vehicles
and boats and thousands of National Guard out to rescue
these stranded people

The bad news is the Hurricane that went down to a tropical
status is now going back out into the Gulf and with all that
warm water will strengthen and go back on shore close
to Galveston then on land they think
Houston has already had over 14" and could get another 20+
Never seen anything like this since 1961 when another Hurricane
hit Texas

Morning Bond and a happy bank holiday {AGAIN}
to you
Is it ME or does the UK get MORE of THEM than we USED
to get when I was growing up
We are starting off cool feels REALLY fresh out there at 5am at 61f
but once more going up to the middle 70's and a lot of sunny
Harvey is still giving Texas hell and another system that will be
named Erma could form just off the coast of Florida near
Jacksonville but they say should skirt the East coast then slide out to sea
towards YOU guys that a way >>>>>>

Enjoy your nice weather then Bond who wants to sit in traffic
on a Bank Holiday after all

David text me last night asking if we had anyone in the UK with the
name of Simon Morgan as this site he goes on compares your DNA
and thinks this person could be a 2nd cousin confused2
I am not familiar with the name ,but guess it could always be someone
who married a Bourne or could even be on MY side on the Osborne
side interesting though

OK so I had better move as Colleen will be here at 915 today as they
gave her another patient BEFORE us then the therapist nurse will be
here at 11am
Morning LADIES
Oh and almost forgot Phantom None who I see looked again
last night
We must be posting interesting "stuff" for him to keep coming in confused2

Good morning all from Atherstone a bright morning here and possibly the hottest late August Bank holiday on record sunny
So today it's cut the grass back and front and then sit out and not go anywhere, we have done that before and just sat in traffic lights so as now every day is a holiday we can have our bank holiday tomorrow
Well my camera phone is telling me it's not working due to lack of space after taking photos with it yesterday so deleted them but still no good so it looks like the man in the shop to look at,
Breakfast and it's got to be Shredded Wheat and cold milk
Tea coffee and L&Ls

Oh we have people who volunteer to help out Vicky
Red Cross for one always set out to where ever they are needed
no matter what the disaster ...its not that they do not have PEOPLE
its the weather you cannot send out firefighters etc when they in turn
could end up being hurt or killed themselves

There are over 2 million people in Houston and as their Mayor just said
you cannot demand evacuation of so many people as that would cause
havoc on the roads ,all the levee's are over the banks right now they just need
a little break to allow them to go down a bit ...
We have the National Guard also that get deployed to help out ...so its not for lack of
helpers

Marge too bad you cannot get Lorna to listen ,but I can understand she
must feel guilty over her husbands death even after 10 yrs

Glad you enjoyed YOUR outing Bond gave your eye eye some exercise I
see nono

Well Gil and I just finished up some minestrone soup I made and now he has his last
minute snack of seedless tangerines and three tea biscuits that he is dunking
in his tea that he knows to SIP slowly if he wants to keep getting a cuppa

I have showered and washed my hair so I am ready to lay my body down

Spencer took Carmen to look at new cars earlier as the insurance totaled
her car out that they were in the accident with ,Spencer knew it was a good buy
as Louie sold it to her for $500 they are giving her as pay off $2.100
so she looked at a 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback low mileage for $10,500
she will put down $2000 and finance the balance.....
then they have to wait on the law suit which the lawyer said he is not rushing
as they have a GOOD case ....

OK so sleep tight every one and yes that is ONE LARGE LADY Vicky

I thought that at the time Carole when I heard some people saying their family/friends were staying  with their homes   Mad  your life is more imprtant.    Though you'd think other rescuers from far away would help out from other parts of America.   When we had floods years ago the RNLI from all over came to help out.....and they're volunteers Carole ....and they go out to sea risking their lives, Susan & Matt's ex Boss now belongs to the RNLI Liam, he had the hots for Susan but Matt got there first Smile   he did go to their Wedding, nice looking guy, funny guy Smile He & the rest of the RNLI crew  did this funny sketch....oh it was so funny   he doesn't work with Susan's place now though, can't remember where he works now.  He's still with the RNLI though.....we saw him on TV carrying a little girl when they went to the floods a number of years ago.         Anyway what I was saying Carole isn't there anything like that who can come and rescue those about to lose their lives.   confused2

Yes I'm taking the folic acid every other day.... .. confused2 my Doctor say I have to so I must.

Trust you Bond funnytvprog

So not long to go now for Melanie Margaret.

And I so agree with you about these people who didn't believe it was going to get "that bad" and it was being blown up.  It's like the fires "It won't reach here"  but the wind as only to changed..... Mad

There is a fog upon L A and my friends have lost their way,
Ooops , that's Blue Jay Way again! That's up in Malibu but
it was very foggy here last night .
I ran into Lorna out on the street and she invited me over
for a Margarita and some cheese and crackers.
We were out on her patio until midnight ! (only had two
margaritas) She has been feeling the way I have this
last week or so which is a little weird. I think mine was
for a different reason than hers though.

I found out that she is still having night mares about the
fall that killed her husband Richie, if she had not landed on him
she would have died also. Its been 10 years since that happened.
I wish I could get her to see someone but she is as stubborn as they
come and insists that she does not need to. That is why she is filling
her house with animals (and fish) and buying things she does not need
for her animals (never for herself),
She is trying to clear some old clothes of hers from her closet but finds little she
will part with emotionally.
I learned from Yolanda that they both worked for TSA at the airport but Lorna
came away with less pension than Yolanda did when its should have been nearly
the same. Lorna will not put in a claim for it even though it will be retroactive
from the time she retired from TSA!
Lorna starts her work as a crossing guard tomorrow but our schools don't go back
until next week. They have refresher classes and updates first.

My mind is a little fuzz, did I tell you that Melanie now has her date for her surgery,
its Sept 7th with all 3 surgeons in attendance.
Ian is back from France and will call me in a couple of days he says, "When the
dust has cleared".
I know he has some voice over work scheduled this week and he is waiting for the
premium summer rates on the airlines to go down before booking his ticket for here.

Its Barrie's birthday today , he is 79 this year. Sheila probably feels like she is 100!
She is looking after him on her own now. Ian tells me that the ulcer on his leg has
come back and that he is still having trouble eating, it takes him so long that everything
gets cold and he won't eat it that way. He has driven all the way across France to Provence
and he will driving back in a few days time. At least he is spreading it over four days for a
trip that we did in two. He has done it so many times in the 13 years they have had the villa
that he could do it in his sleep I think!
Before Ian and Rebecca came home they took Barry and Sheila to lunch up in Tourtour,
a little medieval village up on a hillside with a view over all the local countryside.

I am afraid that I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who won't evacuate when storms
like this come through, then expect the authorities to step in and rescue them, putting themselves
in danger. I know why some of the very elderly won't go because they would rather die
than lose the only home they have ever had. Texas authorities didn't want a mass evacuation
because of people being stuck in cars on a highway putting themselves in even more danger like
New Orleans and Katrina. I think that the locals thought that the warnings were overblown and
it would not get as bad as it did. Most don't even remember the last time one came through.
What they didn't understand was that even after it went through there was going to be a great
deluge of rain for days, up to 50 inches some say, that will lead to even more flooding.
They did have a lot of warnings about this Hurricane. You don't get that with earthquakes.

I am taking a guess but I think Malc has a lot on his plate right now. Its nose to the grindstone
for him at the moment.
I am away with the fairies so TTFN

It's been a lovely if a bit hot, I have got a face like a turkey clocks bum, I was wearing a floppy hat
Funny we talk about Shredded Wheat for breakfast well they had three cars in the race so three cars 30 mechanics and pit crew plus five girls in little crop tops and skin tight pvc trousers, not that I noticed them, plus a big yellow Van withe boxes of Shredded Wheat and ice cold milk

I KNEW IT funnytvprog

NAH! I doubt Blaine took pictures he is not
me and his brother ....

Oh its not anyone's fault about the flooding victims
Vicky ,the emergency services are OVERWHELMED
and cannot get to everyone who call plus unless the
weather eases a little they cannot risk the first res-ponders
lives ,that is why they advise evacuating and going to places
set up during these storms
I saw Galveston on TV last night they are getting a lot of water
as well ,not good as they are out on a island basically as you have to
reach it over a long bridge something I took note of when my Ex Robert
took me there back in 1989 and being SO FLAT again you KNOW
with a storm surge such as is happening its only logical your going
to be in trouble and also why you see so many new houses being
built up on stilts close to the shoreline ,even up here the houses
close to the shore line are being built like that especially after
Hurricane Sandy a few years back

WOW £700 @ good for you and I saw you did not have to use
what you were saving for your bag because David bought it you
....
Marge must be having a lie in .as is Blaine who rolled in at 130am nono
Whats City in now 2nd division ? Mad

OK I am going to sit a while how about a fresh
Oh have you tried the Folic pills any more ?

Cute little bear .....GROWLLLLLL

Will Spencer be taking lots of photo's
of what Vicky confused2

I have done one small load of white clothes
before going to the shopper
Dropped another $125 WHERE does it go to headbanger
came home put the groceries away and got Gil up
washed shaved and dressed
Then while he ate his {brunch/breakfast} I made the lads sarnies
for work tomorrow
Now he is watching Liverpool kill Arsenal .Arsenvenger ? is looking VERY
unhappy

Listening to some of the people stuck in the flooded houses and no
one is getting to them to help ,one lady is in her garage the water is up to their
chests the cars are under water ,the only place they can go is in the attic
as its a one story home but she has a disabled family member with her and pets
and does not know how she will get them up
Another is in her attic with the water still rising ,but told the ABC reporter
on the phone she has tools to break through up onto the roof as that is what
happened in Katrina every one was up on the roofs waiting to be rescued
Awful situation

Sounds like you have been looking for something to buy with your
birthday £ Vicky

Sorry to be late on parade again but had a restless night again.
Ended up watching Iron Man 1 & 2 and finally slept for about
2 hours, fed the cats and promptly fell back asleep and woke up
to Man U playing! so about 4 hours all told.

I seem to get the odd period of being very exhausted and this is one.
I know its my body and brain still reacting to all the stress so tend
to relax and go with it instead of fighting it.
Its not as if its for any other reason as I do take my vitamins and am eating
fairly regularly and don't try to push myself too hard.
I might start taking extra B12 again.
I am also not depressed or I would not be doing half what I am doing.
As my other widow friends tell me , its still early days yet.

Poor old Texas, even over land as a cat 1 storm its still has power to do damage.
They had been expecting it to do a U turn and go back out into the Gulf of Mexico
and come ashore somewhere else. The ocean temps are warm enough down there
to give it more strength. That's why we don't get many coming our way as our Pacific
waters are too cool to give them strength this far north.
Must check with the weather channel and see what the Doppler Radar is showing.

Ben next door had a few guys over for the evening last night, no music though so
that was nice. Think Lindsey was gone somewhere, couldn't see her car out front.

Haven't had any breakfast yet or a cup of tea as I know how Carole worries so came here first.
I will probably have some scrambled egg on toast and call it brunch!
I can have some yogurt and fruit and a banana with a granola bar, how healthy is that!
Its midday here so better get going. TTFN

That was Susan's favourite film when she was younger..."Wizard of Oz" the times she watched it .....when we took Matt & Laura years ago to "Plantasia " at Dobbies....we went round the Maze  and Laura & I were skipping along singing    "We're off to see the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz" Smile  WE didn't care how stupid I looked.

Yes I have a cousin who lives in Houston ......not heard from Gary for years, he's still in touch with two other cousins of mine though.   his Dad was Bob who I looked on as my brother.

Well bought a clock for Susan & Matt's bedroom (Carole's)

Good morning Vicky ,and MY what a WONDERFUL one it looks
as the temps dropped down over night and there is a LOVELY breeze
so we stand before climbing into the middle 70's at 59f at 730am
AHHHHHHHH MY kind of day

Bond you will have a LARGE problem if you keep DOING that
with your "buns" funnytvprog

Yes my Ex's State is getting hammered and where he was from
Houston area {Pasadena} could get a one two punch that could happen
Wednesday the weatherman is saying today ,but right now its hit RockPort Texas
as a Cat-4 Hurricane but is now a Cat 1 ,that being said its the wind and rain
that is going to do the most damage as its SO VERY FLAT in Texas ,I once
asked my Ex if a road speed bump was a "Texas Hill" funnytvprog
His moms house got flooded on REGULAR days ,good job she has
been gone a while as he has although he no longer lived there he moved
to Maryland confused2
Still we can only people and their animals are able to stay safe

Going to have to water as no rain till a small possible shower Wednesday

Back later as have one washingbasket doing while Gil and Blaine are Sleep

Morning Marge Vicky always spooky seeing those coffins ,so LIFELIKE

Sorry had to pop out as our insurance company
just sent a letter to ask about Gil being in the hospital
was it due to an accident etc etc and maybe some OTHER
insurance company should be paying for Gil's treatment
like if he had gotten that "egg" from a car accident or some
thing ..SO STUPID ,but soon set them right

I have told Gil if he is good I may take him out either
tomorrow or Sunday as its going to be a WONDERFUL
WEEKEND sunny sunny sunny

Well Spencer said this new guy might work out if only they
had SOME WORK....
Him and Carmen are going to Puerto Rico to a wedding
they leave at midnight Wednesday  Sept 13th return Monday
the 18th and will return to work Tuesday he will only be taking
a few days off as he gets Saturday and Sundays off  ,and Carmen
is paying for everything  and hotel  so the new guy will be IT
while he is gone ,,,,,

Anyway I must away

see ya all tomorrow
