PostSubject: Morning everyone..It's a new week...11/08/2014   Wed Jul 05, 2017 5:30 am

First topic message reminder :

Well, he just said sorry. I keep forgetting that he is 8 hours ahead and
has probably been messing with the Chase stuff for some time before
messaging me. Nothing to be done now until the new card actually
arrives.
I don't think I will be taking these blood pressure pills much longer
they are giving me a headache, don't know if its dehydration or something
else but I have increased my fluid intake in hopes that that is all it is.
I go back in about 10 days so will take them until then.
I am sure she will give me another blood test so we can compare the two.

I need to call the Gastroenterologists office tomorrow to make an appointment.

Finally got all the leaves out of Black Beauty vents and rain channels.

Lorna called and said that Lucy (our neighbor who is now in a retirement
hotel) wants to have a get together like we did last year. Its all last minute
as usual. Luckily I am only down for chips and dip and soft drinks and water.
I also need to get a couple of bags of ice for the ice chest.
I don't even know whose garden we will be in yet!
Now I can go and get my breakfast! I don't do well handling this kind of stuff
as soon as I wake up. TTFN

Awww remember it's his head injury Carole. But he does seem to be picking up. He'll be hope sooner than you thought.....it's slow work but he's getting there.

Yes it was the colour I was drawn to, then I looked at the heels affraid but they are comfy and I don't wear them to walk around the shops in.

Oh I won't allow him into your bedroom Carole......I'll put a notice on the door "Turn around, door on right"

Well just back from sitting 2 hrs with Gilly
He was eating when I arrived ,have to say
I like the weekdays Aids more than these
on the weekend
He was not too bad again today until when I was
telling him about my sister selling Knick Knacks
on a stall in the park near her house for the Church
when he started talking about SOMETHING completely
Different confused2
He asked me what day it was ,wanting to know the date
and when the nurse came in to put a notice on his locker
door saying I would be bringing his laundry home as good job
they labeled all I had taken up as someone this morning had changed
his top and it was whisked away ,but she said they found it and
would return it tomorrow ,any way I mentioned that he had been there
since Tuesday ,and Gil said I have been here since  TUESDAY affraid

Sun came out after I arrived there and its turned much warmer
and I see some big black clouds forming with this heat again but nothing
so far

Yes Marge I think Spencer is taken advantage off now he is on his own
as he does it ALL only having the other Emissions Tech there until 3pm
so for the last two hours of the day when Louie leaves Spencer has to do
EVERYTHING ,stopping any jag  he may be doing to do the Emissions

Sounds like everything went good Bond ,but could you keep the
children's  down a bit

Bond you better not walk into MY BEDROOM  nono

BTW Vicky I had shoes the same color minus the strap LOVE
that color I found a Khaki slim skirt and silk same color blouse
I looked the CATS MEOWWWW
Be back

Yes I've just read a story about 3 Desert Rats going down the line to collect all the spares needed, it would take around 12 hours.....they'd put everything they could on board, on the way back coming across 4 RAF Officers in a small truck going across the Western Desert trying to find their airfield but they hadn't any water or food, they loaded the truck with all it could hold oil, water, petrol, food, ammunition the cook prepared them a meal and they fell on it like hungry wolves. he hopes these airmen found the airfield and got out safely.

I'm telling you this Margaret you never know it could trigger someones memory   "That was me"   how many times do you say "Gosh what a small world" and it is really.....I know most likely they don't but you never know.      This guy was the founder of the Desert Rats.....strange because I remember my Gran telling me about her cousin who was a Desert Rat.  she had his cap which went missing when she died.....along with so many other things.

It sounds like slave labor to me Carole.
I have been up twice already this morning but fell back asleep.
It must be the heat that's doing it.
Its already 75f and its only 10:30am!
its over 50% humidity ,I like it between 35-45% to be comfortable.
The weather people are forecasting a high of 81f which will feel like
87F with the humidity around 1pm.
It will be a lot hotter inland of course so shouldn't really grumble.
I have enough fan fan power and the A/C unit to keep me
cool enough.
Glad to hear all went well at your art Fair Bond and Carole, it
sounds as if Gill is making some progress which I am sure is
a relief.
I am going to make a quick run to the store for lightbulbs as
I don't have anymore 100 watt ones for the kitchen ceiling
lights (do get the energy bulbs which are actually 75 watt but
give out the light of a 100 watt bulb).

Headlight on Black Beauty is playing up again but if I give the
plastic housing a swift smack it does come back on. There seems
to be moisture inside the housing, not a good sign but worth noting.
Cats are all laid out again after eating the last can of catfood in the
house so I had better get my self ready and go and get some before
they wake up again in about 3 hours. TTFN

Just read your post Vicky, I only have records for the German camps
but am sure there were a lot of airmen shot down over North Africa and
Greece and Italy who ended up in camps all over the place . The Germans
could not build them fast enough so many were held near the place they
were captured and then shipped further north over time.
By the time the 1.000 bomber raids started in 1942 the German camps
were filling up faster than they could build them so many stayed in
POW camps for the rest of the war in the country of their capture.

Oh it wasn't THAT sort of dream Carole.........we were (David & me)  on holiday, somewhere abroad, though we owned the hotel   confused2  very odd.

Went to Palmers and had a meal, well I had a custard slice .....bought another birthday card,  got so many in July and then we've got August, birthday's & anniversary's.   confused2

Margaret.....were any of those Airmen camp in German camps in Italy 42/43....Porto St Giogio head count of 1,500in February 43 20 Airmen decide this guys bunk is the best place to start digging a tunnel to escape, replacing the slabs when they thought the guards where coming round, digging for 5 weeks and then 18 airmen make their escape but are re-captured.    Though the writer of this story does end up escaping from a camp in Masserata and went on the run with 3 others, moving from farm to farm and he was never recaptured thanks to some of the farm owners, and when he went down with Maleria the son of the farm owner send his son to find the british troops who are in the area about the sick soldier, he ended up in hospital ending up back in England Nov 44.     Interesting stories

I'll keep you informed Margaret if I read anything else about the RAF.

Ok off for a cuppa. meet you in the kitchen Bond.

Same here so far Vicky ,just got back from the shopper
store ,Spencer rolled home just as I was leaving at 730am ,I said
I wish you would tell me if your staying out but he said he did not
know had fallen to Sleep ,that's what he gets for getting up SO early
the only reason he said if he goes in later as he does not start now
till 8am ,he runs into the morning rush hour traffic ,when he leaves
now at 530am he is there in 15 mins but he told me twice he had
put his feet up in the office and taken a hours nap nono then
he does not stop now a days being the "Jack of ALL trades "

Ahhh best Matthew found out that early as you say don't want
THAT kind of girl not at THAT age either ,imagine how she will be
in 5 to 10 yrs time

Well have a good time where ever you end up Vicky ....
I will be going to see Gil later ,still not feeling 100% myself

Hope it was a "nice" dream you were having

Yes it is grey today.......a bit of drizzle but not much, hope Bond got there ok, well in time.

I was up later this morning........what a strange dream I was having, David had to wake me up to have my tablets.    confused2

Oh Matthew & Holly have split up......I had asked him to ask her if she could make our family meal and he said "Oh well er.....we've split up"  I said "Awww why?"   and Laura said "Oh Nanny she used to bully him, didn't like his friends, only wanted to go where she wanted to go"  honest she looked as though butter wouldn't melt Mad   I said "Oh well you don't want someone like that"   he doesn't seem upset.

Right off somewhere.

Geeez was that Bond I saw run  to the
Market Square ,with Mrs B jogging behind him

Up early this morning for a couple of reasons ,#1 Spencer must have
forgotten where he lives {I know a LOT of times he falls to sleep
over Carmen's but normally rolls home no later than 2am ,but maybe
because he does not have work today I saw he had NOT arrived at 4am}
I had a leg cramp so had got up to feed Buddy ,saw Spencer's
door open so knew he was still out ,so fed Tabitha as well catmilkbowl

Well once I am THAT awake that is IT Shocked  so made my
and HERE I AM confused2

Looks dry so far out side and its 65f

So guess Bond is off to the Art thingy in Atherstone in the square
could have left some thing to eat before rushing off like that with a piece
of in his hand
Anyway hope every ones OK today ,Vicky I guess Matthew does not want to
be away from his girlfriend now @

Yes I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Gil ,as I said he is still not "right"
but its a beginning ,guess I forgot it was his Brain that has to heal this time
not just his body like last time after having the blood transfusions confused2

Alright so I will be back later .......run run

Wow that's good news about Gil, in fact Wonderful News, obviously they're doing something right.         Gil's right you need to go and see the Doctor though. littleBlond

I think the 1st World War was a terrible waste of lives Margaret.....what sights those young men saw, what things they went through.

Laura seems more excited than Matthew, Matthew is sort of "It'll be interesting"

Yes I bet you and Ruth had a great time Carole.   Smile

Where did Bond get to?     Wonder if the paintings are going to be some of his?

Hi ladies ,I feel better today as after seeing
Gil and meeting with the social director case worker
and therapist supervisor who said he was getting
what they call SIMS {stimulating electrical therapy}
to strengthen his legs ,I could see an improvement
over yesterday
When I got there he asked me what was wrong with my arm
as once more I have a itchy rash Been treating it with Cortizone 10
and Caladryl but he told me to go see my Dr
Up until today I do not think he even NOTICED me ,so like
Jackie said {and you Marge } its starting but will take TIME

Rain here and depending where you are its anywhere from 20 to 30 degrees
COOLER than it was yesterday when we here in Bridgeport hit 91f

So are Matthew and Laura excited ? I bet just to get away from
their home they MUST BE funnytvprog
Yes I hope they stay safe as well always a worry these days

Marge your lucky you do not have Madison ,Chelsea's cat who TRIES
to sleep on her CHEST when she can

Had a little upset tummy again today only had a English Muffin with
two small slices of cheese for breakfast ,came back from getting gas
and ate one {or tried to} of the Cornish pasties  I made and I was
not sure I was even going to MAKE it to see GIL waitingloo
So took out some fresh Salmon I had bought ,put it in some foil
with a knob of butter and two slices of a lemon

Trying to eat it now but not going to finish it Mad

So what happened to Bond looks like we will be making our own drinks
AGAIN Vicky Shocked

Sad about all those horses during WW1 Vicky crying
Back later if I am able

I often think that everyone's image of war in1914
was the charge of the light brigade as in the poem.
It must have sounded so dashing and brave.
So if they did not get called up, they volunteered
by the thousands. Including my Grandfather Hitchens
even though he was married with a child.
He was wounded and sent home.
Peter had a great uncle who was gassed and lived
a short life because of it.
In the second WW, my mothers younger brother could
have got a special waiver as he was the only male in the family
but he went anyway. Hespent his time in Burma driving supply
lorries and building landing strips,I guess he was in the Engineers.
He came home safe

Well, its going to get hotter again here over the weekend, up in the 80s
locally. There is a brisk little breeze at the moment so managed to sleep late
this morning. I woke up with Jagger sleepng on my feet,I thoughtonly dogs
did that.
The bedroom my computer is in is shaded by a mature mountain ash tree
in the back garden so does not get as much sunny as the other rooms.
By cracking the window open it stays comfortable most of the day.

So glad your grandchildren are going on the trip to Paris Vicky.
I am sure they will be full of stories when they come back.

Bond, always in the thick of things but having so much fun.

Carole, at this point, its one small step at a time. The brain is so
complicated but it does have a way of connecting bypasses between
nerves that if stimulated enough can bring back some of what
seems lost this time as its new damage.
Always have hope my love.

Well a lovely day.......waiting for Matthew & Laura to turn up after school.

I still think it was'n't right not to call your house number as well when they hadn't got you on your cell phone Carole.

They're here .....later.

I'm back.

I'm with you Carole that doesn't mean it's posh Smile   anyway Bond the Indian Cricket team only eat around Edgbaston or Mosely when they're in the Warwickshire area.

Matthew & Laura are off to Paris with the school on Monday at Midnight......going through the tunnel.       Hope they have a good and safe time.

Oh Margaret I'm reading this book with the stories of the men in the first & second world war.   The book was sent to me years ago by my second cousin and one of the stories is his.    Anyway read the first one, the 1st World War......this guy talks about the horses and how he became friends with this riderless horse who didn't want to leave him until he was told to hit it on the rump and send it on it's way.....he wanted to change horses, this horse being fearless unlike his but couldn't, so he had to send it on it's way ......after the war he often talked about that horse and wondered what happened to it.   Sad

Morning Bond ,cooler today as they said
it would be and lots of damage along the coast
line from that storm, just showed a HUGE tree down
on a house that just yesterday the roofers had signed
off on
'Last night was the MOST sleep I have had in AGES
as Buddy did not get me up like he normally does around 1am
he did not go out until 415am ,I must have "crashed" around 8pm
as did not hear Blaine come home and only woke at 930pm briefly
saw he was home and had eaten and then I went back to bed ..

Anyway have to get going as this repair chap is supposed to
be here at 9am and I have to meet with the rehab Dr and social
worker at 115pm to discuss where he is and what goals for him etc

Morning Vicky .Morning Marge hope you had a good night

Bond not sure the "service" defines "posh" as I have had excellent
service at a road side food truck funnytvprog

Back later thanks for the

Whom ever entered our info into the PC
obviously put my cell number FIRST
instead of the home number ,guess it depends
on where or how they type it Vicky but its sorted
now I was told

Well we had some good thunder and some lightening
and a GOOD soaking ,with more to follow then tomorrow
its going to be MUCH cooler only in the 60's with cloudy
skies and rain on and off

Bond you could have scared off those players walking in
with those darned bottle greens on your head funnytvprog
I still want to know whats the difference between a "regular"
Indian restaurant and a "posh" one confused2

Well Spencer home and showered so now MY turn
said 1/2 of Weston where he works have no power due to
the storm that blew through but the service station was OK

Speak tomorrow oh and I shall be meeting up with Little Linda
one day next week for breakfast and a chattable been a long time
coming and might as well do it while I am able confused2

Nite Nite

Cake please.

I've nearly finished my Kindle (the ghost one Carole) it's brilliant and I'm keeping.....it wasn't scarey Carole, the ghost is lovely, she's looking for her daughter who died two hundred years before and the home she haunts has been bought by the ghosts many "greats" grand daughter and she finds these letters and the wedding ring which should have been given to the daughter, but wasn't. Anyway she's trying to find a way to get the Mum, Daughter and ring back together again. Anyway it's lovely.

Hi all, that was a lovely meal, yes I know you wouldn't won't curry Vicky But anyway it would of gone through the brown paper bag
The service and the restaurant is very posh it looked like half the Indian cricket team was in there, I think they thought the bottle greens was some sort of religious head gear
Anyway you still have cake
I'll do the drinks Tea coffee and L&Ls

So why didn't they call the house phone then if they couldn't get you on the cell phone?   confused2   That's not good Carole.  Mad

I remember Sylvia wanting to come home, she kept saying "I'm not stopping if they don't send me home soon I'm leaving"  that was when she was in the hospital.....and then when she went into the flaming home she kept saying  "I'm not stopping here" and I'd say "So when I come to visit you I might see you climbing out of the window and look up and say There's Sylvia's leg coming out of the window"   Awww he could have taken her home for a day when the sun was out to allow her to sit in her garden.....so sad.   talktohand  though she could be really nasty as well.    Oh boy could that woman be nasty.

talktohand  No I don't want any curry thank you......

I am back ....Vicky they DO have BOTH but when
I am home my cell goes on the charger and I would rather
they call the house phone so if I miss a call it will go into my
V/mail plus I can HEAR the house phone better than the cell

Marge you sound like Spencer saying he was going to buy his
dad a helmet and I knew you would understand how they just
FALL and do not try to stop them selves
Your also right about all the other bangs and bumps he has had
over the last couple of years ,as that is what it looks like ,its ALL
built up and in full AFFECT now ....
When I got there he was again eating with his Nurse Aid in the dining room
she said he did well at breakfast as well eating well over 50% as she secured
some salt for his scrambled eggs
Toook him back to his room and he wanted to go to the "bathroom"
so two aids took him in but he told them to leave him but she asked me
to go in with him as he is no where near safe to be alone sitting on the

But at least he went ...
But after putting him back into bed he started ,I told him I had to let
this guy in that the landlady had hired ,and he starts talking
about his scratch offs saying for fours days he had been asking ....
Now he has had these two cards in a plastic bag from when he came over
from the hospital he cannot see to do them Shocked but started YELLING at me
saying HOW HARD WAS IT TO TAKE THEM OUT headbanger
Yes its going to be a LONG road back this time I can see ,and in the mean time
its hitting me in my IBS section
Dr Chocskeys Liaison called me before I left to see him to see how I WAS DOING
which I thought was nice of her ,and she said that was what was happening to me
being upset ,stress affects different people in different ways

Next one of my old work mates told me on FB that Ruths husband Doug
had passed away ,he was also 68 ,I have not seen him in over 18mths
It said he suffered from COPD ?
I know he looked like a skeleton last time I saw him

So whats the difference between a Posh and normal Indian restaurant Bond

Enjoy your curry doubt Vicky will want any of THAT

Marge you lucky blighter THREE pieces of fish no less

Anyway I will be back possibly
they just issued a severe thunder storm warning for Bridgeport
its only feeling like 94f with a 71% dew point PHEW

A very happy birthday Bond,

Had 3 large pieces of fish on the dinner plate (its only 2 on the lunch menu)
fresh cold slaw and shoe string fries.
I had to bring the largest piece of fish home as I could not eat it all!

Where we went is the last open air Plaza shopping center in Torrance, its always been that way.
They have a nice assortment of stores and built a huge Cineplex at the back.
Its always busy but not over crowded until the week ends.
We were at full strength, 12 in all ,on their outside patio.

Brian will be going in for some kind of heart surgery soon (I think it may be for a stent or
valve replacement). His wife Shirley is getting over a broken bone in her leg.
Pam is recovering from walking pneumonia but the rest of us seemed to be in fairly good
shape for our age.
Two of our members got back from a trip to England two weeks ago but I think it was more
for visiting their kids than sight seeing.
One of them is leaving today for a trip to Maine to as she said "get over the trip to the UK!"
Its a log cabin by a lake owned by a friend of hers, Sounds brilliant to me.

Have finally solved my credit card problem so its on to the next fiasco!
Got the portable A/C working after cleaning all four filters and making sure the drip tray
was empty.
I also confirmed that Ian is aiming to come out in September some time if it can be arranged.
He is off with wifey for a long weekend driving round the Lake District, won't be back until
Tuesday. (Its their wedding anniversary )
Haven't heard from Melanie in a few days but guess everything is going the way it should
or I would have heard about it.
Its been dang hot where she is, at least 110f every day. They even put in a second evaporation
cooler(called a swamp cooler here ) Guess she and Jim are doing the same thing we are, taking it
really easy. Both my ceiling lights in the kitchen decided to go out together, one yesterday and one this
morning! The rest are working fine right now fingers crossed.
Got a few bits of sorting I can do without raising a sweat. I am way behind on my filing so going to pop
out to Staples to get some more large buff envelopes to empty the filing cabinet of last years receipts
and put this years in there. I found a whole lot of old ones in a box under the bed . Must have been
from 2015/16 when Peter was near the end.

Carole, it will take some time to get all that stuff out of his system between that and the concussion
he must have suffered (that will take longer to recover from) That's why the erratic behavior.
I should imagine he has been having concussive episodes on every fall, they are not always noticeable
but the effects can accumulate.

I sometimes wanted to put a football helmet on Peter with a face mask!
He kept falling face first, he could do nothing to save himself but he never got any broken bones. confused2

Like the look of the cake Bond.       I'll have a slice of that please.   Smile

Why not give BOTH home number and cell number so that if they can't get you on one number they'll try the other Carole.   confused2

Anyway hope you find Gil more aware  Carole.

I'll push the bottle greens through your letter box Bond.....they've been washed.

Bond ONLY 68
how I wish I could be 68 again even

Well woke up in excruciating pain {stomach}
and talktohand NO Vicky nothing I ate ,maybe what
I did NOT EAT ....anyway after a few trips to the waitingloo
it is passing over ...

The temps at 530am were ALREADY in the high 70's and the dew point
also so that = LOTS of HUMIDITY as Marge might tell you
Should break tomorrow though

Yes Vicky I was in SHOCK ,it seems Gil is going backwards
instead of forward after his last hospital stay ,and that was why
when I spoke to Dr Chokskys Liaison Jackie she had to remind me
that this time Gil had suffered a head trauma and it will take time
for the old Gilly to reemerge {hopefully}
I have to call this morning though as they had my cell number
down and kept calling THAT ,,so I told the administration girl
yesterday to change it to the home number ...
Well its a good job I got up at 930pm last night after falling fast
asleep at 7pm ,checked my cell which was on charge and there
was a call from the home
When I called it was one of the Aids who was asking about shaving Gil
and did I want them to shave OFF his beard ......good job she decided
NOT to when I never called back ,I said why was she calling my cell
as Jen had supposedly taken care of changing the main contact #
to our home # ,she said that was the only one she had headbanger
My point is WHAT if it had been an emergency Shocked
Anyway she said they had showered him and shaved him so hopefully
he will be feeling a little better today

I just have to pop to the Post Office before going to see him and whats
doing
Do not really want to be out after 3pm when they are predicting severe
weather because of the heat

So have a good one I will return run run run
