PostSubject: Morning everyone..It's a new week...11/08/2014   Wed Jul 05, 2017 5:30 am

First topic message reminder :

Well, he just said sorry. I keep forgetting that he is 8 hours ahead and
has probably been messing with the Chase stuff for some time before
messaging me. Nothing to be done now until the new card actually
arrives.
I don't think I will be taking these blood pressure pills much longer
they are giving me a headache, don't know if its dehydration or something
else but I have increased my fluid intake in hopes that that is all it is.
I go back in about 10 days so will take them until then.
I am sure she will give me another blood test so we can compare the two.

I need to call the Gastroenterologists office tomorrow to make an appointment.

Finally got all the leaves out of Black Beauty vents and rain channels.

Lorna called and said that Lucy (our neighbor who is now in a retirement
hotel) wants to have a get together like we did last year. Its all last minute
as usual. Luckily I am only down for chips and dip and soft drinks and water.
I also need to get a couple of bags of ice for the ice chest.
I don't even know whose garden we will be in yet!
Now I can go and get my breakfast! I don't do well handling this kind of stuff
as soon as I wake up. TTFN

Great minds and all that Vicky ,Tracie just reminded
me that Blaine brought his dad some "good" ones home
that he uses at work ,and how he had taken him up a
couple of pairs when he was at the Jewish home
as when he first went there they had him on a portable
Oxygen machine that had Gil complaining about them
doing the "laundry" next to his room at night funnytvprog
So just found them out and will take them up tomorrow

Ummm wouldn't that be funny if the divorce was not final BEFORE
they wanted to wed funnytvprog

Ha! ha! my mum did that when my Dad was in convalescence
down in Devon after getting shell shock or something on board
ship during WW11 ,she was expecting me at the time and had bought
dad a 1lb of fresh tomato's ,but by the time she got to where he was
she had eaten 3/4 of them ,said that was why I love tomato's funnytvprog

Thanks Bond slide a few pieces of your "mature " cheddar this way
please I ALSO LOVES SHARP ,the sharper the better cheese

Better go get my "cool" shower

BTW more HEAT coming back next week Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 89-90-90f

How about ear plugs at night Carole? I remember Sylvia going on about the noise while she was in George Eliot's hospital.....she complained about the comings and goings and then when she first went to the Home she went on about the shouting. I mentioned to Cliff about ear plugs but she never got any.

Oh Janice & I used to eat gooseberries like sweets , in fact I remember when David & I first got married and the lady next door brought me some gooseberries from her garden "To make David a gooseberry pie" WELL every time I went into the kitchen I ate a couple, so in the end I hadn't enough to make a pie. she asked me a couple of days later if David liked his pie and I had to admit I'd ate them Mad

Oh David thinks the same as me.....I know Rob's had his say on a number of occasions ....he says "He's like the Gestapo" as to the divorce he's heard nothing about it. confused2 they better get a move on they're getting married next year. Everything booked. Mad

I am back ,have a steroid cream that the Dermatologist
said SHOULD work if not to come back in 2 weeks
No hot showers cool ones as that starts off the itching and
makes my arm look like a BEACON
Also to put an ice pack on if I feel like scratching

Picked up the script before  going to see Gil who once more
was telling me about all the noise and goings on during the night
and that he wants to come HOME NOW ,told him they will not let him until
he is at his strongest
They are having him help with dressing himself now which he showed
off to his Indian Aid Lorna when going to the bathroom while I was there
she told him that is fine but when he is in his room "Lorna" helps him
she is one of the BEST .....
Anyway I hope I can keep him content until they say he can come home

My Dad grew his own gus-gogs ,then put them up into jars  and froze them
which he proudly showed me in their garage where he had a freezer  FULL

I never had a liking for them as much as for other berries

Must look on FB then and see Ian Marge ...
Hope you enjoy your lunch with Ann
Lorna sounds like she is in a tizzy lol
As much as you like her animals I bet you will be glad when
she is home

Well its muggier than ALL HECK here ....YUCK

Yes Vicky glad your telling Matthew and Laura that at least
they know they are loved with you ,whats David say about it all
and Rob ?
Oh and did he ever sign for the divorce don't remember you saying

Back later if I can

BOND L & L PLEASE

My mate's just sent me some red gooseberries Margaret,  she did the same last year but the juice was dripping through the parcel  and when I opened it tiny flies came out, needless to say they got dumped so when she said in another email this year "I'll send you some gooseberries again"  I thought "NOooo"  but this time they're nice, no juice dripping through the parcel and NO FLIES......I'll be making David a crumble

I was telling the kids not to let him batter them mentally ....I said they were great kids  (as they are)  we loved them to bits not to forget that and not to let ANYONE put them down.   The Witch should be ashamed to allow him to be the bully he is.

 for me please

Avatar is Lacock Abbey which parts of it were used in one of the Harry Potter films ....this is the cellar which was used in one scene  confused2  can't remember which film though.

Wish we could get black currents here but they and red currents
are missing from our shops. We get blueberries but its not the same.

I am meeting Ann and her husband Ron at HT Grill at noon today.
Its been at least three years since I have actually see her in the flesh
but she keeps me updated on her activities on FB. I send her newsy
emails when I have the time.
I may be able to visit them in Arizona at sometime in the future now I
am on my own.
Ann was born in London but raised in Darby where she met Ron who worked for
Rolls Royce before coming to the States.

Lorna is home tomorrow (Sat) she called us because she could not find her house
keys in her luggage so had Yolanda and I searching the house from top to bottom.
Later she called back to say she had found them! She thought they were coming
home today instead of tomorrow but she also thought she was leaving last Tuesday
instead of Wednesday!
It sounds like its been a busy trip hanging out with two much younger women who
like to do things and be on the go.

Ian posted a picture of himself in costume and makeup on FB this morning.
Today will be his first day of working but he is being paid for the full three weeks
starting last week. Now he is moaning like a typical actor that he missed out on some
jobs because he was on retainer for this film!

Melanie is happy she has a date for surgery at last but is also getting anxious as well.
Its the unknown that is involved in this kind of surgery that is the worry.
I told her she will just have to accept the outcome whatever it is as she cannot go
on the way she has.

As far as the Witch and Donkeybrains are concerned, the punishment for not completing
a chore the way an adult would is bullying, abusive and humiliating.
I lived with that kind of father growing up and I feel for them. Nothing I did was good
enough for him, I grew up thinking I was no good at anything.
At least I have had my revenge in a way, if he could only see me now!

I have to get some laundry done this morning as I am running out of things to wear!
I already put the dishwasher on. I had my shower yesterday and washed my hair so
just need to pop over to see how Yolanda is doing and check on all the animals

It was taken last year Carole when we went to Coombe Abbey for "Tea for 2"

We used to go blackberry picking at Paul's Land when we took Benjie for a walk, we've not done that, took Benjie to Paul's Land, this year......though David says it's pointless picking blackberries seeing I can't have them now.  confused2

Yum yum Carole blackpudding, bacon & mushrooms.

The rain's not reached us yet.

Later.......

Of course I'm not 70 Bond don't be silly...... this year I'll be 72  Smile ,

I know I'd have grounded my lot for years....."Clean the bathroom"  ...."Where's the stuff.....what do you do with it?" so in the end it would be from me "Oh give it here I'll do it"  it's not right, he's a bully and she's no better.

No no no I didn't push the card through the door I posted it Carole

So really good news today then Carole, that must perk you up.

Human version of Walt Disney's Dumbo ......that sounds interesting Margaret.

What did they expect Margaret of course you both became good friends.

Awwww that's sweet about your catmilkbowl  as well.

Good to see your managing so well Marge
your right about the things one does not know
about nursing homes ,Gil was not exposed last time
in the Jewish Center rehab as its BRAND SPANKING NEW
and seems the place for both short term AND long term patients
but they never responded this time when Gil needed a place
to go  ,there he had a private room with en-suite,and as I said all
short term patients were in a wing apart ...

Anyway here is today's report

Good report from the speech and both therapists, Occupational and Physical
Met in the Social Directors office as Gil did not want to be in on it ..
The physical therapist said she thought the follow up Hospital  meeting
and swallow test was on his mind Monday because today he was great much more attentive

It looks like it might be at least another two weeks there though as they feel he
is not at his potential and the higher he is the better for when he comes home.

I can also apply for State home care {not through any insurance } Fran had told
me about it yesterday ,you cannot have any assets to qualify ,which we do not ,
so Claire was going to put in
the referral for me today

That would let me get a home help to help with his bathing dressing etc and be
here when I go out also a visiting nurse

The speech   therapist said she is introducing different foods a little more solid but that fluids that are on the thinner side tend to make him cough so needs the thicker consistency of nectar tomato juice etc

So all and all a good report    Smile

Nice you can still see Ann Marge that is ONE long time to be mates

I saw Melanie had mentioned the date as well
And that sounds intriguing about Ian

Be back have to cook

Good morning from the left coast of California.
The Humidity dropped last night so feels delightful
this morning. Its still about 70f and its only 9:40am.

The end is finally in sight, Lorna is back on Saturday.
I have been sleeping much better after being out of doors
most of the day and tending to the dogwalk dogwalk
dogwalk dogwalk dogwalk
catmilkbowl catmilkbowl catmilkbowl catmilkbowl
and five tanks of fish!

My neighbor and long time friend June down the street just called to
see how I am doing because she hasn't seen me for a few weeks.
I don't think she can believe how busy I have been.

Got a FB message from Melanie, she has been given her date for
surgery, its August 23rd at University of San Francisco in San Francisco.
So next week I have to take my car in to be serviced to be ready "just in case".
She has lotsf help from her NA group and the ladies she sponsors so I don't
want to get under their feet unless Melanie wants me there.

Found out what Ian's big secret is about, will only tell you this, think human version
of Walt Disney's Dumbo directed by Tim Burton. The rest , my lips are sealed.

Cancelled out on the St.George's dinner group last night , have my regular meeting tonight
and I am going out for lunch tomorrow with my long time friend Ann over from Arizona
to visit with her son and his wife. Ann is a Red Hat member so lots of women to contact
while she is here and a visit to the Red Hat store (of course).
I have known her since about 1975 when my troop camped next to hers on a Girl Scout
campout. The other leaders could not wait to see what would happen when two Brits
met on foreign soil. We amazed them all by becoming fast friends.

My poor cats have had enough of me not being home for most of the day( I feed them
in the morning and pop over at lunchtime to feed them again and after I have put the
menagerie to bed about 9pm.) Jagger is all over me and Tabbitha gets right up next to me.

There is a lot the medical profession do not tell you about how some elderly dementia
patients yell because they don't know where they are and are afraid they are alone and
abandoned in hell (even if they are not). especially at night.
I bet Gil will be glad to get home after this.

I have a four person Hillary cabin tent in my garage which many times Peter wanted me
to get rid of but if the big E hits I will need it as I can put it up in the garden.
I have sleeping bags and a camp kitchen with Coleman stove and lantern. I also
have a winder driven radio and lantern as well. I just need water and dried food.
I must away and get some breakfast and go start my other job for the day.TTFN

Well finished the washingbasket have Gil's clean
clothes all ready for the off
Been to the bank to drop a deposit ,and topped up
my 4x4 with $20 worth of gas .7gals

That sounds like something you could restore Bond
did you pick it up ?

That is AWFUL about the kids ,I am assuming he wants
them gone from the house as soon as they are old enough
to say talktohand "hey enough and I am taking a HIKE"
sounds like child labor to me Rolling Eyes

Ahhh SO YOU encouraged your "boss" to come look or was
he thanking you privately for maybe a card you might have
shoved through his letter box Miss Vicky nono too bad he cannot POST
like normal folks

Well I also hope its all good news ,will let you know

MORNING MARGE

Good morning all from Atherstone a bright morning here but grey and black clouds on the horizon so may need the brolly later.
It's leading players day but I'm not really needed so it's just mrsb and I've got jobs around here. I don't know how long the tent will stay up, jess thinks it's nice to be out of the house so may be out watching the nature go by and even watching the rain come down, I would love it but I do understand the grass will yellow so it's just a short time thing.
The nice lady has just said we will need a brolly todayv
Breakfast and it's Shredded Wheat and cold milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice I'll bring it out to the tent, we could watch the squirrels

she said maybe Hallucinating was not the right word
the staff member should have used
They do not have a designated "short stay " area and so
Gil is on the same floor as the Dementia and Alzheimer
residents
She was wondering if he was hearing when he said he heard
"voices" that of the staff in the hallway ,along with the residents
that I know call out etc
She did check on him three times but he was sleeping probably
catching up on his sleep from being disturbed during the night
She also said they reported he refused his dinner last night
so I said but Claire he had just eaten lunch before the nurse
arrived to give him the swallow test and then they were stuffing
all sorts plus LOTS of liquid down him ,and she agreed saying
that was what she thought ...
He said that the home must have these people locked up
and that was why they were screaming HELP ME ....
But I heard one lady doing that last week because the aid was
not responding fast enough to her room ,and she was YELLING
HELP ME HELP ME

Anyway will know more when I go up tomorrow for the 1145am meeting
Sleep tight you two and BOND no sleep WALKING from that tent
that I see Vicky has tucked you into nono

Yes when we were visiting Sylvia the guy in the room opposite her used to shout "Nurse Nurse....oh please yourself"   the helper had not long gone in to see him and he was fine but as soon as they left he'd start up.  of course they'd go back and say "What do you want" can't remember his name, anyway he'd shout "Nothing" and then start up again as soon as they walked out of the room.

Take Frans advice Carole step back and let others help out......hopefully you can get someone in to help.

No Carole they're just the ones with the holes.

That tent looks fun Bond......think Matt's got around 7 tents,  of course, as my daughter keeps telling me, they aren't like the tents of years ago.....I say  "They're still tents"

Love this photo of Steve & Lily.....it was the family do for my 70th.

Well seems I cannot have a "day off" with out some
kind of upset ,just walked in the door and the phone rang
was the home ,Gil's night nurse had reported that last
night he was hallucinating, saying that people were screaming
all night ,and yelling "let me out let me out" and that the home
was keeping people there against their wills and that was illegal

The day nurse wanted to know if they could have the Psychiatrist come
talk with him ....
She said he could be upset because he wants to come home

I text Tracie and she said he probably DOES hear the Dementia and Alzheimer
patients yelling I know one lady does it a LOT during the day when I have
been up there just yelling one NOTE ahhhhhhhhhhh

I told the nurse to call me back if they need me as I was not planning on going
up until tomorrow when I have a meeting with the social worker

Fran just gave me somewhere to contact that will if we qualify get some home
help that the State offers here not through the insurance
She told me I have to learn to step back and let people help instead of doing
it all on my own ,which is I must admit HARD to do

Weather is beautiful today as they said it would be ....
so going to get the dinner going in case I get a telephone call
PLEASE LORD I HOPE NOT

Glad you got the PC working Marge miss you when your not posting ..

Vicky do you have the small Duck pin ball lanes there not ten pin ,the balls
are MUCH smaller & do NOT have holes so you just LOB them down
the lanes

And we did have fun......btw Margaret we did have those bumpers when they gave us the lane but we asked the girl to put them down, as you say it's having fun, having a laugh which we certainly did, know what you mean about the weight issue, some of the balls  affraid    I got Matthew to get me a light weight one, which sometimes Laura used but usually just mean....I did go one weight up on odd occasions .....I did think about our site whizz bowler I could see her shaking her head, specailly  when at times my ball rolled... down... the lane.....very.... slowly    well I'm only little.

The whole idea was to have some fun, some places here have kids
or senior nights where they put a bumpers in the gutters so no one gets a
gutter ball. Some of the really old and some of the really young can
hardly lift a ball let alone bowl but they are having fun.

Got through yesterday OK on my own. Yolanda fixed all the evening meal
dishes for me so just had to put the dishes in front of the right dog.
You dare not get it wrong as they are programmed to a certain dish in a certain
place and its all gone in 6 or7 seconds!
Slept in my stinky clothes again last night, I was just so tired went to sleep
with all the lights on as well. Luckily I had remembered to put the bins
out for collection today before nodding off.
Its a good tired though, I haven't climbed the steps across the road in months
and its getting me back in shape.(Loki likes to go up there to check out the
other dogs smells.)

Got Main computer working but the ipad still needs a booster in the living room.
Going to unplug the router later and plug it back in again after waiting 60 seconds.
Sometimes it just needs to reboot.
I know exactly what you mean Carole, it feels like you fell into someone else's life.
Got to go. I feel all the better for having a shower this morning and washing my hair
clean clothes are great when its this this warm and humid. TTFN

funnytvprog Morning Bond sorry but you
have to remember I am still snoozing when
your up and ready to "Play" so where's Vicky
I know its Wednesday but she is not cheese cheesychipraid
right ?

Well had a message from Marge last night so first here it is
Written last night
No internet connection again this morning but today and tomorrow
I will be working alone so cannot call for a repair man.
Still getting reports of Coyote activity in the area so must be
with dogs to let them outside and watch them. X
Changed internet connection from PETE to PETE EXT and still
No internet connection.can't really do anything until Sunday
after Lorna gets back on Saturday. Phone and TV work fine.
I will try the desk computer again tonight. X

That is strange that her Internet   is out  but her Phone and TV  are OK
unless her carrier is having a large outage for just the Internet like
we did the other week confused2
Hopefully when Ian comes again he will put the chat site on her kindle/tablet
so she has access at such times like I do
What a worry also as the Coyotes will take a small dog or cat with out a second
look ..

OK so its raining there Bond today they say will be a PICTURE BOOK day
but then we fall apart as Friday depending how CLOSE this storm that
is heading up the coast gets to us it could go from a little  to
a

I had asked Little Linda if she wanted to meet me today for lunch
after I get out of the hairdressers but she works Monday through Wednesday
and said she could maybe get out early {330-430pm} but that would not work
as I will be home then cooking dinner for the lads
As I told Gil I would take a day off from visiting today ,ah well maybe next week
sometime while I still can
Anyway be back later then so be good and play on your own Bond for now

Well I hope Mary took your advise Bond as you never
know look at Gil although this was not the first time
that he has fallen and it was ALWAYS his poor head that
took the brunt

Well Gil did good on the test a outside nurse brought a portable
machine to his room and they went up his nose into the back of his throat
with a small camera on the end of a long wand like things attached to
the PC and showed it all on the screen ...
They had him swallow mashed potato and ground up meat which he did
good with clearing it out of his throat ,but with the green beans it was
a bit harder as was the ham and cheese roll as he had to work harder at clearing it
They also gave him milk and what she called Nectar that is a thicker consistency
than say apple juice and they were very pleased
But the therapist at the home will not give the Ok for a regular diet yet she wants
to check other things starting Monday with him

He had his hair cut before I arrived and they shaved off that awful beard
just left his tash ,he looks years younger

I will be having a day off tomorrow when I go get MY hair done
Weather cool again today we have dropped from the 90's down to the middle
60's we are 20 degrees lower to what we should be having

Tomorrow should be better and around 80f

Ok so is Vicky off getting a bowling ball sized to fit her fingers funnytvprog

cheers

39 @ well that is how you start Vicky ... funnytvprog
Just made stuffed peppers for later and a meatloaf for
tomorrow ,now have to run to the store before going to the home

The reason they could not do "that" at the home Vicky was because
it was the Hospital where he was first admitted who wanted to do the follow up
even though he has been having therapy at the home a Dr only saw him
on admittance and once a month there after unless needed ,so the Bridgeport hospital
had to discharge him

I told Gil when we got back and were waiting entrance it had been ONE of those
days and all we needed now was a flipping HURRICANE funnytvprog

Ok got to get going catch you both later run run run
