Got an early start this morning, Cats fed, Bins out and I have had breakfast.
Going to be another hot one today. This is supposed to stay with us for at least
the next few days until the HIGH that's over us moves away.
The humidity level is creeping back up again, its gone from 48% to 50% since
I started posting this.

License plate frames should be here later today or tomorrow.
Paddington won't be here until Oct 24th.

Just got the bill from my dentist and a bill for my part of the payment for
my Ultrasound a few weeks ago, its a $50 co pay which I have never had to pay before.
Need to track that down. Teeth cleaning came to $56 but I am on a cash only basis
with him. I get a better discount with a AAA card or AARP card than my medical plan!
Same applies to glasses or hearing aids.

Cats have prepared for a hot day by eating their dishes clean and coming in this room
with me as we have the shade of the mountain ash tree in here.
Tonight is dinner with the girls and we are visiting El Torito's again (Mexican)
Contrary to popular opinion most Mexican food is not spicy. Its only that way if
you want it that way. I adore their Cadillac Margaritas, its expensive at $12 but I only have one
anyway.  (its a big glass). It last me the whole meal!
Its always fresh corn chips and salsa to nibble while you read your menu and wait for your
food. The staff are so nice in there as they are in all the restaurants we go to. The Englaterra
Ladies are funny and a little loud but we are always welcomed back.

I am so enjoying the look back at Coventry in the 60s site. Although it wanders further afield
sometimes as the memories come back. It is a delight.
Must away to my chores before it gets in the 80s again this afternoon. TTFN

OI! Bond watch out hoover ,surely the NEW carpet
cannot be THAT dirty ....btw where the pictures of it then @

It is nice having Tracie here if only for a short time ,and Timmy
is SO good could care less over Buddy and Tabitha as Tracie
said they have SO MANY cats around down there that she helps feed
with her neighbors that have been left ,so being as he does nothing
Buddy and Tabitha were calm and no problems
He goes outside to do his "business" off leash and comes right back in
to Tracie  she cannot move for him  he is always having an eye open to see where
she is and being as we do not have the spare room set up {something on my
bucket list to clean it out and buy a bed for guests} Tracie and him slept on the
long couch and he is UNDER the blanket with her  he LOVES
to cuddle and don't get your face close to his otherwise he will KISS you to DEATH
funnytvprog funnytvprog

Gil enjoyed scratching lotto cards that she bought for him TWICE
going to the store ,I told her he does not get SPOILED like that  now
so he better enjoy it
She is also good for him in a way as she PUSHES him to do things
like with his hand that does not want to work ,where as when I DO IT
he gets mad saying I am NAGGING him  confused2

I WISH she was closer  Sad ,I said if anything happened to me I do not
know what her dad would do as the boys could not look after him
her reply he would have to come to Florida and she would have to get
an aid to be with him while she was    etc .....
Anyway its once more COOL here so people will be wrapped up
I think we are one of the warmest places at 50f at 5am  BUT going up
to around 71f later and VERY VERY  sunny

Ahhh Banbury I have gone through there on the way to Newbury
my Dads home town ....
Anywho I must away getting my hair done at 930 glad THIS appointment
I will not be worrying about Gil as Tracie will be here

Lasagna tonight made it yesterday for tonight

Back later

MORNING LADIES

Washington's House (Sulgrave Manor) is in Banbury Carole .....they call it Washington's House because it's the home of George Washington ancestors . Jimmy Carter went there in 1977....it's run by the National Trust now. Interesting place.

I'll have to find out where Anne lives Bond.

Oh how exciting for you Carole.....as Margaret says "Enjoy her visit"

Ok speak tomorrow.....nighty night.

The man doing the final measuring has just left with the second check.
He tells me it will be about 6 weeks and they will call me with a date for
installation so its moving along.

Next its the rollaway blind people to see if they can get the blind installed
before the windows go in.
It will be high enough not to interfere with the window installation.

It is now 80f and 44% humidity but a breeze has sprung up so there
is some air flowing through the house helped by the furnace fan.

What a treat, Tracey popping in on her parents. It can't be easy for her
with her schedule. ENJOY!

Well got a telephone  from my daughter around
11am ,I said where are you ,driving she said ,to where
said I ,to see YOU she said bringing Timmy for a visit dogwalk
My daughter never ceases to amaze me confused2 ,she did not
want to tell me in case she could not get a flight ,but her brother knew
when she telephone  him after she landed
Seems Timmy traveled all the way in his pet carrier and did not murmur
She was staying until Thursday but may go back now tomorrow on a 630pm flight
and has put a "bid" in on it as being in uniform so she flies free she can
only go if there is a seat available in the crew section ...
Timmy is very cute and follows her every where ,he knew when she found him
he was onto a good thing  Rolling Eyes
Made sarnies for lunch and so have to stretch the pork chops slightly for dinner

Lovely house Vicky where is THAT ?

Glad you had a nice visit Bond ,thought I heard a lot of twittering from your side
Marge exciting about your news

BTW Vicky tell David to get his finger out ££
He can't take it ALL with him funnytvprog funnytvprog

Glad you enjoyed your time with your friends.......that's where Anne lives just outside Dublin.

Well just been looking around the antique dealers.....looked at the one I got my beautiful pendant from THEN looked at the one in the Jewellery Quarters, now remember I liked a Edwardian pearl pendant but when I went to look at it in the flesh the assistant couldn't find it and called the boss who came in going "Have you looked in the safe....Mmmm now where can it be" and THEN he remembered he'd sold it.....remember that?  WELL the pendant is back on the site BUT instead of it being £575"  it's £1,500.    so he hadn't sold it he'd pulled it......so just what had he found?     Anyway I think I would still have bought the one I did.

Yes I saw Kate dancing with Paddington Margaret.....they've been reading Paddington Bear stories on the radio the past couple of days. it makes you want to go and buy them. Smile

I've got some soft toys upstairs in Rob's old bedroom, I used to play restaurants with Matthew & Laura years ago of course.....the soft toys were the customers, Laura and I were the waitresses and Matthew was the chef ....I had cut up things to make veg....dusters to make carrots and a scrubbing pad for peas, cardboard for chips, pie plates.....we had such good fun. but it's about time they went to the charity, well except those which have special memories.

Ok back later.

Typical engineers thinking,
Peters was "I want it yesterday and under budget".
All for a few $$ so he feels like he won, a bit childish at
their age. Testosterone again!

I got a good deal on my fridge and dishwasher by waiting
for the right sale and was able to go up a level in quality
for the same amount I paid for my last Fridge and dishwasher!
Some times you cannot do that if your appliance is broken already.
They do wear out quicker these days as they are not as well made.

I am waiting for the pre installation guy to come in a couple of hours.
Its to check for any problems they might run into and to collect the
next payment.
I ditched the plate holders from Walmart and found a do-it-your-self
site on line. They do next day shipping so they are on their way already!
I chose red letters on a black background. Top says Pontiac and the bottom
says 85 Trans Am. It will look better with the blue license plate and yellow
letters instead of trying to match it.

I also treated myself to a new bear , its a collectable, this years Paddington
Bear,as the second film is already being advertised.(did you see Kate dancing
with him at Paddington Station?)
I was hoping to get a Princess Charlotte one to go with the Prince George one
I have but had no luck so far.
I have Rupert, Winnie, and other Paddington bears, some of them are anniversary
bears. I also have a Mr. Beans bear and Sooty!

A lot of my other bears I bought as a donation to a charity, Lifeboat, National trust,
even got a lady police bear from a UK police officers charity fund.(also got her male
companion dressed in his reflective vest and peaked cap). She is wearing the blue
knitted jumper with leather patches on the shoulders and a rolled brimmed hat
(like I wore to school).

Temperature is going up again here , it was 90f yesterday. Today its headed to
the lower 80s, humidity is dropping, its 38% right now, No breeze at the moment.
We will be on high fire alert for another day or so yet.

Peter's brother Vince has been asking I have anything of his mothers that I can let
him have as a memento as he lost a lot of what he had in the way of photos of her.
when he was using drugs and was thrown out of a lot of council flats.
He is now in brain rehabilitation so he is getting his life back together. It
will take some time but I should have a few things by Xmas to send him.
Better end here,so much going on my brain hurts!

Hope your friends have a good time Bond.

Yes I saw that stadium roof.......text Susan they were already sitting on the bus going to the airport, it was lunch time and their flight doesn't go off until 7pm  but she said if they caught the next bus it wouldn't arrive until 6pm so that would be too late.    she said the power went off yesterday afternoon,  and they had to heat baked beans and toast bread on a camping stove  ....eating baked beans on toast by candle light.....the power didn't come back on until nearer midnight.   We said from years to come you'll look back as an adventure.  Smile

Loving the book, I'm up to when Lady Jane Grey was beheaded....of course the Grey family owned Astley Castle.

Back later......oh love this house "Washington's House"   see the stars & stripes flag fluttering.    We went there in 98 great place.

Went and had a talk to the guy in the Independent electrical shop and he's dropped the price, but you know David affraid "Do I want to spend that sort of money?" so he's thinking about it. confused2

Oh the doctor I'm seeing this week was the one who dropped it to 40mg....and told me to stop taking those other tablets which made me sick.....THOUGH my usual doctor is the one I said "I don't want to take Statins" and when he asked why I said "I don't believe in them"  and he said "Well I'm not going to push you into taking them" and I know he isn't keen on asking his patients to take them, he also told me to stop taking those tablets.....but I'm not seeing that doctor, my usual one, on Wednesday .

Well got my car and then went to Fosse Park.....had nibbles, I had a chricken & cranberry toastie also ......bought Merryn, Wilf and christmas presents.   only 2 more to get.....apart from the family of course.

Heard from Susan she was asking if we were out and about because they were indoors as the storm raged around.

We also went and had another look at the 2 tv's we like.....this was in Curry's again, we've got to go and look in the family electrical store where we got our dishwasher from, see what sort of deal he can do.

It's been warm but windy..... and no Bond I didn't  see that.  confused2   it was grey skies when we got to Leics, looked like rain, but it was warm......anyway it didn't rain.

I keep saying to David it could be my Statins which are making me feel not 100% but he won't have it...."The doctor knows best" yes but which doctor    my own doctor is with me about Statins,  the other doctor is  "Well try it out" and the hospital Consultant is "Oh yes you must take Statins"  though he was the one who gave me 80mg   headbanger   I'm on BP tablets anyway Margaret....   Mad

David & I where laughing the other night when David plugged his Ipad in ....we thought "Now if only we could just pug ourselves in each night and be fighting fit the next morning"     what do you mean Bond you pug Mrs B in each night and you put your feet onto her when she's toastie.    Shocked  sorry Mrs B he made me do it.

BTW Margaret Babble, babble we just read sensible posts.....it's Carole & me you get the babble from.         I SAID ME AS WELL CAROLE.....and I've been known to tap my foot....she's putting dents in the floor.

Hey hey Marge ,so your on the same BP's as me but
mine have an extra water pill in it
Guess that Sun really put the wind up some people Smile

Glad someone has Sun Marge as we have cloudy skies and
after waking up to very warm temps we are now declining and
overnight in some towns will be around 38f ...BUT after a cool
day tomorrow we will once more pop back up to the low 70's
is that crazy or what ?
Your like me Marge even if I could get a bus none go anywhere
close to our street, again like you it would entail a long walk plus
another one up a steep hill
So looks like we have to wait for a look at the new carpet

Anyway back later

Its 73f outside right now and 44% humidity.
Winds are calm and the sunny is really bright
this morning at 8:58am.
Some places out in the valleys humidity went down
to less than 9% yesterday, that is when every thing crackles
as it dries up! Lizard skin again, where's the moisturizer!

I got an email from WalMart saying the license plate holders are
on back order so goodness knows when they will be in.
In the meantime I need to get Big Red in for the engine tune up
so will pop out and get at least one for the "Hybrid" holder at the
auto parts store near us.
Caught up on all the clothes washingbasket yesterday.
and did a bit more sorting in the main bedroom.
the main bathroom is sorted, the half bathroom is sorted,
the washing machine service area is sorted and most of the kitchen.
All neat and tidy. That leaves the den, the living room and main bedroom
along with the bedroom with my computer. The garage is becoming the
next staging area as the rooms are emptied.

The den (after the windows are in) will be the next easy sort, not too much
stuff in there except a sofa full of Teddybears :-D
I will be having a big sort of those and the surplus can go the hospital charity
shop ready for Xmas. They are in good shape and just need vacuuming.

I think I would be lost without a car as we tend to drive a lot out here and
the bus service is so sporadic that its useless for going anywhere outside of
commuter hours. For me, it would still mean a walk up a steep hill if I was dropped
at either end of my road with a weeks worth of shopping!
If BB has to go in for service then I am stuck. I can get a ride home and a lift back to
the service station but no loaner car. The Chevy dealership might give me a loaner car but
they charge more for the same repairs or service. confused2

Yes, see storm clouds gathering over UK. I think the wind will be more of a problem
than anything. Hold on to your Bonnet, Vicky. Maybe put some weights in your boots.

My Doctor has put me on Lisinopril (5mg) for my blood pressure as the statin she
made me try gave me bad headaches and made me feel rotten. So no more
statins for me, its in my chart. I had my Docucard updated saying that also.
It lists all my meds and allergies and a connection to my Dr. if taken to
hospital for any reason. there is a fee but its paid for by the Living Trust as I
live alone now.
It also gives the phone numbers to inform Ian and Melanie (its all in code on a
swipe strip )

I wish they could insert chips under our skin so they could scan us like animals.
I know, its not PC but if every child had one and all impaired people had one, it would
ID them faster. Its a shame they don't have a way of tracking them also.
It would only need a code not information so safer than putting their names on their
clothes.

Enough of this babbling, I have work to do. TTFN

Good afternoon all, carpets down and looking good, the lads made a good job, doors and furniture is bach so all cosy
Vicky did you see the orange red sun this afternoon they say it was all the sand blown up from the Sahara, the air went a green colour and the sun looked like a tangerine
I would take a photo of the carpet but it's saying I have to free up some storage space that happens at the most inopportune moments Shocked

Waiting to hear that I can go and get my car back.....got a courtesy car of course so we can still go out after Benjie's been for his  if we go to Fosse Park then we're not far from the Garage.

Hi Carole.......David drives my car once or twice a week so it's still running, when his Jag is in for service he always gets a courtesy car, as I have today. Didn't like his last courtesy car though, bright blue, though it was brand new I didn't like it.....who in their right mind would have a vivid bright blue jag, didn't look right for a jag. the car I've got today is black. not bad.

Oh I remember taking Steve when he was a toddler to Hunstanton ....got photos of him & me in the water with his spade, walking up the beach with sea water in his bucket. About two years ago him & the family went on holiday to Hunstanton I thought it was so funny, we had taken him there for the day and here he was taking his family for a week.

Have to say I'm not keen lugging bags off buses either Carole and then walking to the house, with bags, maybe in the rain. No sorry I'd rather pull onto the drive. But just to go for a nice ride in the summer, I get that.

Tony's just phoned Bond......he got back from, where ever he went, last night and is thanking me for his birthday card and wanting to know when we can meet up.....sometime next week, maybe, I said. ....with David Smile

Right.....garage phoned, car is ready, no problems. So that's when Benjie gets back.

Ireland is being hit by that storm at the moment.....Susan & Matt are there, they don't fly back until tomorrow. Good job it's not today.

Morning love your "tubs" Vicky
BOND I said TUBS not her JUGS nono
I hate waiting on delivery men ,when they say
between 8 and noon you can bet your bottom $
I will be the one closest to NOON ......

I liked WSM back in the day one of the few seaside
towns that we went to when living home ,Brighton
Hunstanton Blackpool Skegness among the others ....

So you make Mrs B nervous @ Bond funnytvprog  is
she like I used to be with Gil with my foot on the imaginery
brake on the PASSENGER side funnytvprog

I believe I am a good driver for around here on local roads
but HATE driving the main highways ,the drivers on there
make ME NERVOUS ,as to packing up ,HUH!  talktohand THAT
will be the day Mad

Your lucky to have the buses like that as when we first came over
it was one of the things we missed living in the suburbs ,as unless
you live right DOWN TOWN the buses do not run that often headbanger
plus having to drag bags around ,I THINK NOT

Guess if you do not think you will be driving any more it would be an idea
to let your car go Vicky {who would get the £ though }as you would have
less taxes etc to pay out but there again its always good to have a back up
should Davids Jag be in for service etc confused2

Well its pitch black here yet Spencer has gone ,Blaine getting ready
to leave .....
Steaks out for tonight ,,,tummy somewhat better

BTW Vicky Sir G  not  looking as he has not met up at Palmers
yet his loss I guess

Hi, yes if we go to WSM we would go by the Alfa coach trip and they have their own hotels, Leasure Plex hotels, part of the trips are days out to say the best Bristol, cheddar, and along the coast, when we went with the a few days weeks ago to Newquay we only had one day in Newquay the rest were days out including the Eden Project
Carpet fitters will be with us after finishing the staircase they are on now

Weston-Super-Mare Mad are you mad? IF you go to stay there go to Uphill or Sandbay for the lovely beaches and eats.... that's where we go to with the dogs. Go to Clifton & Clevedon for the shops. of course from WSM you can go across to Wales.....lots of Historic places to visit, but WSM itself.....though saying that, we've been for some good walks, looking at the beach turn right and walk to the top stopped and had a nice lunch, oh and we've been along the Pier Smile

Lynne & Chris love going on the bus Bond, we haven't got our bus pass though, thought about it but haven't. I don't know if I'll ever drive again, I stopped when my tablets made me wobbly and now I'm taking more confused2 Susan has started hating to :driver: she has to because of work and coming up here but she hates it. At times I think "I'll sell it" but I don't know.

Ok later.....

Good morning all, well that's the room ready just awaiting the call to say they will be here in therty minutes but depending on their jobs that could be any time
So your car in for service, I know it's a hard thing to think about but do you think you will drive again? I know just lately I feel like I don't want to drive, I certainly don't fancy going to the cities, I know the bus takes longer but no parking problems and we are on a main route with buses every 20 minutes, I don't think we will be doing weekends away by car, Mrs b is so nervous at my or anybodies driving it makes me nervous, we both love the coach trips away we are looking at one to WSM for the Spring.

Don't worry, I is back!
sunny is out here and the temperature is going
up and the humidity is going down. Its 76f at 12:30pm.
No breeze so we will be baking this afternoon.

The couple that just got released by the Taliban sound
like a couple of Hippy-Dippy's on too much pot!
Both sets of parents told them not to go and knew their aim
was to get to Afganistan(?)
They said to aid the isolated villages that were not getting aid
of any kind.
They under estimated how cruel the Taliban is.
They kind of did it under the radar but they didn't realize that the
Taliban sneak across the border with Pakistan all the time.
And the US could have bombed the place they were at, at any time!
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
They are expecting to be prosecuted by the US government because they
deliberately disobeyed a no travel order by US citizens in those countries.
There is also the specter of cooperating with the enemy and giving away
secret information. (they may have not but one wonders why they survived
so long)

Started wading into the master bedroom which has been the holding place
for clean clothes and other items that need to reside in there.
Another case gone to the garage and a box is filling with unwanted items.
Next is the pile of medical bumff I get from my medical plan, I only need to keep
some of it, the rest is going in the shedder.

Had a lovely dinner with Cyndi and her parents last evening also her teen age son
was there so lots of banter.
Cyndi had made a tomato salad and irish stew with hunks of crusty bread followed
by a small piece of berry pie with a dollop of ice cream. A glass of red wine and water
and coffee.
Cyndi lost her ex husband a few weeks ago, she obviously still loved him but he was
an addict and alcoholic and died of liver failure from Hep C.
she and her son went on a road trip to complete a task they started years ago, to visit every
state in the union. I think they have Alaska left and one other state.
Its been a very healing thing for them to do together.
Well here goes, let see if it posts this time TTFN

Well that's another one gone out.....yes Bond the way Debbie could put her leg up so straight, touching her forehead at the age of 58.....though of course being Paul Daniels magic assistant she was so nimble, and obviously still is but even saying that she is good.

Got a feeling it was Bond & I posting which made Margaret lose her post......sorry Margaret.

Think I've heard of that book Carole.....I'll put it down on my "To buy" list.

That's a true story Bond about the Butler being drunk.    It was the same when Winston Churchill was drunk and a lady next to him said  "Winston you're drunk" and he replied "And madam you're ugly but tomorrow I'll be sober"    affraid   you couldn't say that today.

I'll miss on the puds Bond.

Oops hope us posting doesn't stop Margaret from posting.    Losing her post.

Hot chocolate please Bond.....and leave the sherry alone nono you'll trip up.

Glad you had a lovely time.....they were saying on the radio only today how the roast sunday dinner is a thing of the past unless you go to the pub......so true.

Loved "Titanic" though the way the steerage class was treated.....the gate locked so they couldn't get out, when you read those who died you can see how many poor died, though you did have a number of wealthy men who promised they'd be in the next life boat only to know there wasn't any life boat to get into.....but then so many life boats rowed away almost empty.   Sad story really......the real story.
