George the 1st only had one mistress Margaret, which he brought with him when he came to  to be George the 1st from Hanover,  and they lived together, so it doesn't seem as though .....unless the mistress, and I don't think she'd dare, had taken a lover, I don't think George the 1st caught VD.  Unless of course he got it when he was off  fighting and went to bed with a "Follower"...... I think it was just his father hated him and he in turn didn't know how to be a good parent.....like his father he ruled by terror.  doing in fact what HIS father had done to his wife, removing the children from her.    hitting his son and daughter in law where it hurt most.

We've been hearing all about Trumps book which has just come out and Trumps trying to stop, talktohand  I don't think we'd read anything we don't know .....Trump is a fruit case, shouldn't be running America.

Hey Bond did you watch "A House Though Time" ?   it was about a house in Liverpool....brilliant, can't wait for the next one.

Yes David & I got married in a registry office....though then we had a reception (paid by David Dad) at an hotel my Gran worked at.....honeymoon was a trip to Rhyl in the evening where we went to the cinema to watch Hayley Mills in "The Family Way"  then straight home.....back to the house we were renting.   David cooked the breakfast the next day. Then it was back to work the following day.

That whole branch of Georges must have been mental!
I often wonder if the men had undiagnosed VD as that is
what killed Winston Churchill's father.
Nutty as a fruitcake!
It kind of feels like that under the present President here.
Talk about rising to his level of incompetence!
He has just announced that he is going to allow off shore
ocean oil drilling along the California coast .
It was stopped in the 80s because of the biggest eco disaster
in history for this State, a huge oil spill that killed everything
in its path.
We have natural pockets of what looks like tar
wash up after big storms anyway but if they put oil platforms out
even a few miles off shore it will be pumped to shore via pipelines
under the sea that are prone to rupture.
Part of the history of this state has been oil drilling on land during
the 20s and 30s. Every photo I have seen from the period shows
hundreds of oil derricks as far as the eye can see.
Our State Governor has vowed to stop it as he was in office when
the disaster happened and he was the one to pass the law that stopped
the off shore oil drilling. This is his second term as Governor,( he lost
a couple of elections in between both terms. )
From Santa Barbara south we lost all our tide pools and sea birds and
sea otters along with polluting the beaches for decades. With a lot of
work most of it has come back but it will never be what it was.
Even the Kelp forests died off that are a vital part of the eco system
off our coast.
Our Governor is a Democrat so that makes him and our state the enemy
as far as Trump is concerned!

Wish I could say something different but the sunny is out and present temp
is 61f,low last night was 53f,our high is expected to be 67f. The humidity is
at 70% and viability is at 8 miles but its still very hazy locally.

Got to put the pedal to the metal today if I am going to get some things taken
care of. I have been a little depressed about Melanie and Jim as I thought things
were going right for a change but it seems its the same old, same old story.
Its not my problem so I cannot interfere. I just have to let them sort it out.

Peter and I had our wedding buffet at the Old Hare & Squirrel pub as it was a
short walk from the registry office in Little Park street. the one that is there now
is not the original. It was just batches and a piece of wedding cake and one
glass of champagne to toast. We could not afford to have an open bar so it
was just soft drinks or tea or coffee and they could go down stairs to the bar
to buy their own alcohol drinks. I still have the bill but its where the wedding
album is so cannot tell you exactly how much it all cost but it sounds ridiculous
compared with what it costs today!
Lorna just called to ask me out to lunch with a group of the ladies from my street
and I had to turn her down as I must get this stuff done or it will be another
week which I don't have. She also asked me to drop by for a glass of wine later
but I already have a date with June for tonight! I said I will be available tomorrow!
Its all go here! TTFN

Mop cap, twisted seam in stocking    Bond's looking in the mirror at himself again.

Is that YOUR day Carole the 2nd?  Oh no it's the day AFTER your day.

Yes Carole I love that skirt....it's got 2 slashes at the front which are great when I walk.

Look at Vicky with her pinny on serving
mug
I'll take a coffee please miss as will Marge
whom I see

I popped to the bank and also got $15 worth
more of gas while out as they tell you to keep
your gas tank fairly full in this kind of cold

Picked up a couple of Subways for lunch on the way home
and a fresh loaf of Italian bread
So now until tomorrow when I REALLY have to go to
the shopper  as the cats food is getting low
I am HOME
Main roads are OK which helps but where I normally park
I cannot even get CLOSE to for piled up snow headbanger

Nice hair do BTW Vicky

You don't over do it then Bond.   nono  sit and I'll get the hot drinks.   run run run  blackcurrant & honey then.  run run run

Went to the small Palmers.....I had a portion of chips and a scone with butter.....and of course  oh and some of David's sausage    that sounds.....anyway David had jacket potato, sausage & fried onions....as I said I had some of the sausage and the fried onions.

We then walked around I saw some lovely christmas tree baubles half price but David turned his nose up  confused2  I only wanted 3 different ones.....and I was buying them

Oh George the 1st was nearly as bad as his father.....what a bully, nasty piece he was. parts his son & daughter in law from their children ....one a baby of 2 weeks old who then dies......because the Prince, his son, disagreed with the Duke of Newcastle  at the baby's christening, to punish the couple the children were removed from their parents.....the baby then got sickly and died.   Mad

Hot drinks or cold girls?

Feeling giddy Bond and pains in your chest.......doctors OR A&E  NOW.  talktohand  don't care that the A&E will be busy go there or the doctors at least.

Wow Carole you're getting it aren't you.

Well she did a brilliant job on my hair.....had about an inch cut off, I'm really pleased.    AND I'm having my nails done in 2 weeks after my hair.....had my nails done by Jessica (Susan's mate) a couple of years ago, at her beauty salon, but never at my hairdressers..   and of course in 2 weeks it's the family get together.

Right back later.....stay in and keep warm Carole. Bond go and see someone about that giddiness & pains in chest.

Morning Bond ,yes dramatic could be a word
used but its the COLD temps that will take
the prize for the next few days .....
New avatar was taken when Blaine went out around 430pm
to clean the snow away from our cars before it froze over night
Right now the temp is 13f {-10c} but with the wind chill factor
it feels like -3f {-19c} so not good
The bad thing is though that over the weekend Sunday am
Bridgeport alone could wake up to -25 to -35f = {-31c--37c}
THIS could to be a problem

Not good about your feeling giddy Bond better get something
for THAT and fast lad ,sounds like Mrs B is spreading her germs nono

Not sure what is going on with Gil he was in a right old mood last night
got him into bed and he started saying he was too close to the bed rail
that keep him from falling out ,if you EVER saw the way he moves now
trying to move his body over Mad its pathetic
But he started to get obnoxious yelling so I got up and told him
he could have the WHOLE of the bed
I went onto the sofa for about an hour till my hip started hurting
so went back in and he was sleeping
Not sure if Barbara will make it today as its not looking good
for anyone walking and she has to after getting the bus from her house
to a street near us where she has to walk

OH NO now they are saying they are watching Monday's weather
as we could see more snow or a mix headbanger
Its either feast or famine when you live over here with one
extreme to the other .......
But looks like a "warm up" next week into the 30's YEEE HAAA

Anyway Blaine is up and in the shower has to try and make it
to work today {pay day} hopefully the main roads should be fine once
he gets out of our street
Its the hill that is a problem ,hopefully the city plowed and salted it
although they are saying what they use does not WORK in these
severe temps confused2

Put in for the oil but had nothing yet ,even though they said
it takes two or three days for the oil company to respond ,well that was
Tuesday when I called it in as they were closed Monday

WOW I sound FULL of WOE ...where's me coffee confused1

Be back later

MORNING LADIES

Good morning all from Atherstone, it looks very dramatic over there Carole is that's the right word, I bet you are calling it something else
I was cough cough cough yesterday and g this morning I feel a bit giddy and pains in the chest from the coughing
Yes we will give them a lump of cash to help our but both the lads have better jobs and earn more than I ever did but they are still worth a it
Right breakfast porridge and honey plus toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice Back later

Oh I would love one of those Vicky

Blaine has been out shoveling at least 14"
and more in spots the way the wind is
making it all drift
Now we have to watch as the temps tumble
down and every thing freezes

Wendy said when Derek went to see his Mum
in Cornwall ,he missed a step and had Henry on
dogwalk along with a bag and hurt his back
she said he's taking pain pills

Ok folks I shall speak tomorrow

June 9th @ Bond a week after my "2nd " wedding
to Gil {June 1st} won't be long

Yes it's odd how on one machine is so different from    on another one.   confused2

BTW Susan bought both of us (David & me)  one of those gadgets which count your steps, cholesterol, distance walked, and exercise  "Ha!!" and I've started wearing it, clipped onto my wasteband  I thought with my knee I wouldn't be doing much BUT it's surprising just how far you do walk etc.  and my cholesterol      David's been wearing his since New Year, well he goes far with Benjie.  .

Hi Marge saw that on a news feed
about the Earth Quake
I really hope Melanie and Jim sort things out

Spencer called said it took about an hour to get home
their biggest problem was getting out the stores
parking lot as not ONE customer had been there
but Burlington would not close allowing the employees to go home
Spencer said what took more time was having to dig out Carmens
driveway to get the car into it when they got to her house
But he's safe
Still snowing at 2pm

Vicky here's something to think about ,I am
posting this on my tablet ,and I did NOT have to sign in
but when on my ,I now have to ,and before
I never had to sign in

Sounds like your knee is coming along

Ok Marge off you go
Back later

That's a shame about Melanie smoking again  Mad    what an upset it must be though her knowing that Jim could slide back at any moment.   It isn't fair on her.

This sign was on the front of their room door.

California has had a 4.5 earthquake located in
San Francisco!
This is the biggest one so far out of all the rumblings
we had over the summer last year that were scattered
around Southern California.

Spoke to Melanie yesterday and it seems that Jim is having
no luck I finding a temporary place to live so it may mean
that Melanie might be coming here for a little while if
she cannot find a place for her to stay for a couple of weeks.
She says Jim is doing what he needs to do to take care of
his problem and she is going to extra meetings and checking
in with her Sponsor every day.

I did remind her that she was ignoring the signs that were right
in front of her about Jim and she ignored them, hoping to get
through my visit without me noticing his behavior. (FAT CHANCE!)
Then she would let him have it right between the eye eye
after I went home.

I was glad in a way that I was there as I observed a lot of denial on
her part as if nothing was wrong. Jim was trying to melt into the
woodwork and be as invisible as he could be. thinking he was hiding
it from me. Both were reverting to old behavior so I am letting things
settle down for a while. Melanie is smoking again after having 8 weeks
of no nicotine before her surgery and she knows it will affect her
future outlook as far as the Crohn's is concerned.
I want to bang their heads together and tell them to stop acting like
little kids! talktohand

Is it going to be a Registry office wedding(or civil ceremony) ?
Ian and Rebecca were married by a registrar at Ham House .
One of the first allowed when the red tape was done away with
to allow civil ceremonies outside the actual Registry office.

The guest list was limited because the ceremony was to be in the
front entrance hall and it could only seat about 100 people.
The Registrar asked that there be no photography during the
actual ceremony but Rebecca's cousin turned his video camera on and
left it running the whole time perched on a table looking right down the
isle !

Yes, I saw the dog wearing his wooly hat Carole.
I saw Lorna taking her dogs for a walk in their jackets yesterday
evening. Her old dogs seem to love them.
Must get going here as not a lot got done yesterday as I had an
upset tummy again. Feel better today. I must not fall behind any
more or I will be again. TTFN

Tracie just sent a picture of Timmy
{sent it to you Bond and Marge } will
have to down load it to show on here Vicky
She has this silly hat on him to cover those
LONG ears of his funnytvprog

This storm now is officially called "Blizzard Brody"
and they are comparing it to the snow storm
we had in 1978,Spencer cracked a bone in his foot
running home in that and slid into the gutter
Then some where I have a picture of him on top of
this HUGE snow pile with a cast on his leg as that was
the year our Governor CLOSED the State down completely
in order for the plows to clear the roads

I wish Spencer would telephone saying they got home OK
will be on tender hooks till I hear

Just got Gil up at 1145am ,and Blaine is still Sleep
said last night he did not want me out clearing the snow today
as he had been around Danny's and they are going to do it
but a waste right now while its still coming down
Even the city plow that just did one swipe down our street
the track it made has disappeared already ,as its coming down
1 to 2" an hour

Be back later ...hot drinks for some Bond
And God bless the Players

Good morning all from Atherstone a bit wet and cold here I've just been out to put the bins out and I'm glad I don't have to go out early to work anymore
It's Thursday and the Leading Players start back for a new year and I wonder what that will bring, what shows and theatre will we be doing
Yes Vicky with them, us knowing each other for the last 13 years I think hope we will all work well together, it is a picture of Susan and Matt and it looks like the best lakes behind them
Breakfast and it's Shredded Wheat and warm milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice L&LS Back later

Ok here  I am ,sitting
Florida had snow today well the top end
not where Tracie is but they are only in
the middle to high 60*s
And this storm that they are saying is a fast
mover is the biggest they have seen this late
in the season as it's like a hurricane
and the snow totals are on the rise by 1pm
we could have 11" on the ground with 50mph gusts
of wind
They are calling it a winter bomb cylcone
Let's hope we keep our power as having an electric stove
we would not be able to cook anything plus the oil furnace
would not run as it needs electric to turn on Sad

Glad the wedding day has been decided on Bond
So you will not be needing your  mrbond I guess

Yes Vicky I remember the ,cough slightly large hat
Spencer just brought his car back home as he is staying
at Carmens tonight so he can drive her to work ,as he seems to
think the store she cleans will be open tomorrow even though
we are now going to get around 11" here in Bridgeport . .

Oh and they say we could also get some "thunder snow" yippy

Will be in tomorrow somehow xx

Oh that's good about shopping together.  ....Shirley (Susan's MIL)  waited until I bought my outfit before she bought hers.    When Rob got married his MIL bought an "outfit" in lilac so I bought one in light blue.....a week to go I got to see Margaret's outfit.....well it looked as if she'd just gone off and bought an ordinary, well less than ordinary, suit....mine was a "Here I am darling" silver screen outfit.....  with a big hat AS CAROLE KNOWS.....I felt terrible but David said "Well if she can't be bothered for her daughters wedding"   confused2

I'll have another green jelly baby.

Are you seeing Susan & Matt in Lake Garda Bond?

Jelly babies for me as well please.......CAROLE SIT......get Margaret some as well.

When I was little...well a little kiddie....I hated it if the head was bitten first.     littleBlond  awwww.   my cousin Carol used to sit there biting it's head off and looking at me.

Oh Bond Mrs B has to find out what Sara's Mum is wearing first. after the Bride the Mother of the Bride comes next. Usually the sons mother gets the idea what the brides Mum is going to wear before buying her outfit.

WOW what a day sorry been MIA
tried to pay a bill like I have done
EVERY month on line ,and it would
not let me ,called the bank who put me
through to their "technical support " dept
who told me to do this and that ,still no
good so paid the bill while on the phone
I ASKED this woman if doing what she said
would it affect my other passwords on my
she said NO ...well GUESS what ,this site was GONE
as was every other thing I had bookmarked
and what I check every day ....
Lucky I wrote down my password so here I am
s have to go re-do the others now headbanger

Vicky I heard about the storm from my mate in Coventry
said she had never HEARD such thunder and lightening
and HAIL stones along with the winds

That is NOT coming from US talktohand

I see Trump is going to get us ALL blown to bits
saying back to N Korea how OUR nuclear button
is BIGGER than HIS
Some one needs to put him DOWN

Oh then Gil refused to get up when Barbara came for
his shower ,stayed in bed till 1145 so he allowed her to
wash his face hands and under his arms and get him dressed
Looks like he was in another right mood headbanger

I shall be back

Our bin pick up is a day later this week also Carole.
Lots of mess with the dead Xmas trees cut in half ready
to go (the City shreds them into mulch) along with the
garden cuttings to use on the city parks and golf courses.
Sounds posh but they are only nine hole courses!

Checked in with Melanie this morning and she says Jim
is having a hard time finding temporary accommodation
so she may come down here for a week to give them enough
space to think what the next step is going to be for them.
She is going to a few more support meetings and talking to
her sponsor so she is working her program to help handle
the problems in front of her.

She says that Jim is doing what he needs to do to get back
on track. It seems he had stashed a five day supply of pain
meds  and took some before I got there. It was what was left over
from a past prescription which should have been thrown away
months ago.
Really he should go through detox again but there is no money
for that so he will have to do it as an outpatient and submit to
random drug tests. It will all be in vain if he refuses to be on
the antidepressant that is needed and see a therapist every week.
If his depression can be stabilized he will be able to do a lot more
than just lay around the place sleeping all day and night.

Like the Bi-polar people he thinks because he feels better after taking
depression meds for a week ,he is cured so stops taking them!
It does make you feel a little funny for a few weeks until your body
adjust to them but they are what he needs to help break the cycle
he is in.
It worked for Melanie and I and Peter was also on them for the MS
symptoms.
Its not like its a mental problem, its a chemical imbalance in the brain.
Living with more stress than your brain can deal with depletes the
production of Seratonan permanently. I now know that I was not
making anywhere near the normal amount needed to keep me
on an even keel my whole life growing up.
I guess that's why I am making up for it now!

Its really overcast here this morning. The current temp is in the low 60s
and 69% humidity so it feels colder than that. visability is 8 miles and
tonight's low is supposed to be 52f.
Going to grab myself a coffee and  one of the cookies that Lorna gave
me for Xmas before getting down to work here.

AS always who do you invite who do you leave out, lots of ideas a close family meal at night or a marquee on the big grass area at the front of the of Michaels it's a grass area the the four houses look on to that Michael bought for a £1 from the council saves them cutting it
Teas made and jelly babies on the side

Hi Gang......went to Palmers,

Christmas cake, chrsitmas pudding half price     David didn't tell me that, he did the shopper this morning, we didn't have much to buy.  confused2   but anyway   talktohand  keep that cake & pudding away from me.   Though we've still got some mince pies & christmas puddings left.

A bad storm hit the    last night and this morning Carole.

We're thinking of going to visit Susan for the weekend.....they're looking at another house, 12 houses are being built in Portishead,  so  they want David to have a look around where they're being built,  not on the market yet.   This agent told Susan about them.

 please Bond.

Oh finished my book.....on to the next one.....I've chosen one about George the 111.   a LOT to read.

hoover WHOA! there he goes again
WATCH YOUR TOE NAILS LADIES

Well I am not liking what the weather man is reporting
for our impending Thursday storm that is coming up
from Florida sucking all the moisture in that will arrive
like a hurricane by the time it arrives here very early
tomorrow morning right now they are predicting that
parts of the State could see a FOOT of snow ,and if
THAT was not bad enough we could also see power
outages due to the high WINDS accompanying this storm
and the ICING on the  is the weather will
then DIVE back into the DEEP FREEZE for Friday and the weekend
only REACHING 7f {-13c} during the weekend

There does seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel as
NEXT weeks weather temps look a bit more normal getting
into the 30's each day

Blaine just got up wonder if he will have work tomorrow
plus its garbage and recycle pick up day tomorrow as being
as the holiday fell on a Monday it was delayed a day as they normally
pick up today confused2

Meant to say last night Vicky that REALLY is a gorgeous Avatar
of Susan
Ahhh the JOYS of living  back later run run run

No Carole no such thing as "Common Law Wife"  even if they've been together 50 odd years.

Ex got married last year to Jill,  who he left    for, Jill & Chris have been together for 34 years and Chris is coming up to pension age so that's why they got married, if he died Jill would get a better pension but if she was still unmarried she'd miss out.   confused2

Ok speak tomorrow.

all this chit chat before bed
Midget gems and jelly boy babies too
I see
Oh Lord no one never lived "in shame"
back then ,and I always thought "common law wife"
was as good as being wed if you were together over
7yrs

As to my mum saying that Vicky ,no she never
even brought it up ,but you forget my mum still
loved my dad ,and up until after Wendy was born
when she was with my step father ,she still harboured
dreams of returning to him ,as he was then in between
wives ,but my step father somehow got wind of it ,and
did a bunk with my sister ,but she went back to him
because of Wendy ,and to make SURE she stayed he
got her pregnant with my brother Dean confused2
Ah well and here we are right
Ok I am in bed so speak tomorrow
