Yes I guess the awning men have a good excuse Marge
Let's hope your Windows get put in lickity splick

On my tablet and SEEING Susan with white knee highs
funnytvprog
I can only do an ALL CHANGE when on my
So you will have to wait till the morrow funnytvprog

David just got picked up by his old school mate Chris
as I was really not comfortable with him taking my truck
for a couple of reasons ,#1 he is not on my insurance
&#2 he was talking about going all the way up to Clinton CT
to the shopping outlets ,even I do not go that far highway
driving ,then he said maybe going to a *bar* and I did not like
the idea of him driving even if he had only one of two drinks
He does not own a car uses public transportation where ever
he goes or Lin has her car ,he has his licence but saves in
owning a car and insurance etc

Any way he is coming back over in the morning and
I will drive him to the railroad station

Vicky my last suggestion for bev  is put them in a cupboard
and wait till he asks for them they cannot be that important
or he would have taken them with him
On that note I wish you all a good night ????

They're saying not to travel into Birmingham because the roads are grid locked also.

Oh btw Carole you asked about those dratted papers belonging to Chris.....I'm not sure that she's still got his number in her phone....in fact I don't think she has, and he's not allowed to phone her.....she's asked the Council to either take or get him to make arrangements to have the papers delivered  but they won't and yet it's the Council which are telling Bev he's not to come near her flat.  confused2

And Bond Bev can't do it and neither can Evette.....Evette can't stand on a ladder   but she's sorting it out.....Evette that is.

Well it's getting late......I'm watching QT first and then I'm off to bed though  I'll watch This Week while I'm in bed......so nighty night.

Yes Margaret Rob liked his fishing .....he still went fishing on & off right up to a couple of years ago, before he got in With Dawn, his weekends are now taken up with having the kids, Matthew's footy team and going to stay with Dawn.

Anyway Margaret glad you can see the avatars when I change them.     I'll have to say "All change Carole"  funnytvprog

ALL CHANGE CAROLE...... funnytvprog The new avatar is Susan at 2 yrs

Carole I can understand what might have happened yesterday with the awning man.
1) Its Palos Verdes where all the million $$$ homes are so it might have been a
big job 2) It was 95f up there yesterday and with probably only two guys working
on a big job. 3) they were sick from heat stroke so went home early.
He said if he could, he would ring me when they finished if there was a chance of getting
down here to do mine before it got dark.
I bet I will have a phone call first thing tomorrow morning.

What Bond saw was all the freeways on the west side of LA light up from people coming into town
or going out of town for Thanksgiving.
I saw the Pointsetta on my ipad. and now I can see Rob with his fishing pole on my desk computer.

I think that Carmen is doing the best she can. I think her family want to stay and guard the things
they have left. If they move away the looters will get it all. There are not enough police or army to
guard everyone's belongings and too many people they call friends who would rip them off the minute
they left.
Its sad but true.

Well I hope it's not me in that dress Choccy P sees.... I've not had on here for ages & ages, I expect the more you put on the more they can throw up.....but I enjoy changing my avatar. confused2

Well Becky's had a boy....7lb 12.....both fine, Matt's spoken to his sister and said he could hear the baby gurgling in the back ground. They're going to visit her & the little one tomorrow in their lunch break. Oh only the close family know at the moment so I'm not supposed to....so neither do you lot. Smile

Hello Marge ,I would not be a very happy camper
with those Awning people not turning up or telephone

Vicky did you change your avatar again as now I see I think
its got to be Rob with a fishing line by the looks of it ....
And my picture now I am back on my is STILL
my Poinsettia Gil is on when I am on my Tablet
so what were you on Marge seeing Gil a well confused2
I DO see Bonds sets though headbanger

Oh dear hope Becky goes on Ok Vicky is this her first ?
enough to put anyone OFF after all she has gone through

Well we ,David Gil and I have eaten David wants to borrow
my 4x4 so he can drive himself back to where he has a room
and then he will come back here tomorrow morning ,he said
this way he could go visit a mate before going back
I know he is a careful driver but I HATE letting any one drive
my truck ,but guess I will just have to bite the and
have faith ....

Tracie just got back from the Bahamas ,said she has been ALL over
today ,,,

You said about Carmen Vicky ,Spencer is not complaining about her
wanting to take care of her family ,he questions the logic of not
letting them come over HERE for a month where we have electric/water
etc rather than her going THERE where its almost like living primitive
with the Island still with out power for a good part of the towns
She is not in 100% health so it will be a struggle for her .....

I would like to curl up and take a nap but cannot with David being
here ....
Soon be my daughters birthday

Turkey anyone

I've taken a photo of the rug Carole....just not put it on here yet, I'll sort it out.

84f on Christmas day Margaret.....it'll be like living in Australia  Shocked    Christmas of the beach.

Well Becky has gone down for a C Section......the baby must be in distress....hope everything goes well and everyone's ok.       They should have just allowed her to have bed rest until the baby was ready not hurried things along because that's what the hospital wants.

Oh changed my avatar.....CAROLE CHANGED MY AVATAR it's ROB FISHING, PUTTING BATE ON HIS HOOK. he was 10.

Lets see what avatars I have showing on here.
Vicky's is Susan strutting her stuff. On Carole's its
a lovely picture of Gil looking like a retired military
gentleman and Bonds is a view of the OZ set he
has painted (very nice). Mine of course is Big Red.

OOH was it HOT here yesterday, it was in the 90s
but with the humidity being so low it was not a sticky heat.
Its going to be a little cooler by a few degrees today.
We have broken some long time temperature records for
this date. I remember the first Xmas we were here, it
was 84f on Xmas day!
Lorna called last night to remind me she is picking me up
around 3:30pm today to go to Theresa's house.
I won't be opening up the room this evening even for a few hours.

I spent all day at home yesterday but the Awning people did not show
up or phone. I know they won't be here today so I am not going to worry
about it. If they want the rest of their money, that Awning has to be hanging
on my house!
The Windows people should be in another week or so, again if they want their money
those windows had better be in!

Have not heard from Dave at Hillside yet about the headlight but I think they have been
swamped with people getting their cars in tip top shape as many more people are driving
to their destinations this year instead of flying.
I will call him tomorrow to find out the lay of the land. I try to avoid their busiest times
if I can. Sunday will find the mob returning.

I have ordered a new up to date GPS unit for BB. Its got glowing reports for its ease of use.
It has a 6 and 3/4'' screen (one of the largest I could find) and one comment says
"I gave this to my elderly mother and she found it very easy to program".
I just need to do a couple of practice runs with it before I go on my trip up to see Melanie
& Jim( I will also take my AAA maps with me as the route is inked in on it because we have
done it so many times).

Yes today is Thanksgiving here, it is based on an event that happened to the first Pilgrims
who landed at Plymouth, Mass. They probably ate wild Turkey and some wild versions of veggies.
Apple pie made with flour from the sacks bought on the Mayflower. They did have a cow so
they had the means to make butter and cheese. The Indians showed them what fish they could catch
and what was growing wild that could be safely eaten. The Indians used traps to catch deer not
bows and arrows.
So together they had a feast of Thanksgiving for their deliverance from starvation through the
winter. Most things were smoked or salted to last the winter months.
That winter was brutal, it was the worst they had had in years according to the weather experts
it was also the end of a seven year drought cycle like we just had here.
It did take its toll and there were many deaths among the Pilgrims that first year but they
hung in there and became a thriving colony after being reinforced with supplies from England
and more Pilgrims in the following summer months.

So like every other holiday here it is traditional that you stuff yourself all day and watch
American Football! I am not a big fan of Turkey so will not eat that again at Xmas!
Everyone is waiting for tomorrow which is Black Friday and the crush is on for every
discount in sight. then Monday is the day for buying online so Amazon and all the other
outfits are geared up ready to ship all the electronic gear you can dream of.
That's why I wanted to get my order in yesterday! At least I have a head start.
TTFN

Last I looked on my  it was Susan barefoot in
the grass

Laying on my couch for a few minutes the sun is really warm
streaming through the bay windows

Good afternoon all, it's been a full day with the wizard of oz rehearsals until two then rehearsals for the nativity then had to put everything away, the thing is one of their problems is they don't think to help with out being told so you can be really struggling and they stand and watch but that's all part of the support
Aarr the long black dress that shows off every curve, never too much it looks great

Well I'm back.....had a good natter, showed Debbie & AJ a few of the photos when we stayed at Coombe Abbey......then showed Sarah who owns the Salon though she's only young, in her thirties, anyway she's been there with her husband for tea for 2 and has always wanted to stay there so she drooled over the photos.      Had a body perm and I had it done curly. booked in again for when we go for our christmas get together and for Christmas....so that's me done.

I wish the "PLEBS"  would leave the photos alone.....  I'm not seeing your poinsettia Carole so had to get David to get this site up and so I could see it.....it's beautiful Carole.      BTW what photo are you seeing of my avatar Carole?   It should be Susan still, I've changed it since you mentioned Susan's confused2 .

Becky is in labour cheers  so it should be today, hopefully, and she doesn't go too long.

As to Carmen I suppose she's thinking of HER family as Spencer would think of HIS in the hour of need confused2 .

I'd logged on just before I went to the hairdressers at lunch time and then I've been on for 30 mins....trying first to get your new photo  ....then David logged onto this site, of course under my name so I could see the new avatar.   Oh and a trip to the washingmachine

Ok Vicky what you doing? saw you logged
on when I logged off to get Gil up {did not want to get
UP this morning} so at 1030am I said THAT IS IT UP!!
Sun is shining brilliantly but its chilly
instead of his cornflakes I just made him a sarnie
as before you know it it will be DINNER time headbanger

Not sure what  time David is coming back over as not sure
how long the 5K race takes to run and then he said he would
be going back to where they stayed last night to take a shower

Heard from Tracie she is  today not sure where though

Ok just found Gil the Manchester U game on TV playing Basel
Nice hair do lady

Vicky its those "little people" on the site
that when you change how your viewing
or reading it ON ,be it Kindle ,or Tablet
they CHANGE your Avatar to something you
may have posted BEFORE ,so last night I was
seeing you in a LONG black dress showing your
"cough cough" dumplings as my dear old Nan used
to say when she saw TOO much showing funnytvprog

Relax and enjoy your hairdressers trip and will see you
later ........

Morning Bond ,and to Marge and any one reading
this from the
HAPPY THANKS GIVING
I can smell next doors meal cooking already at
445am ,so Angie must be cooking for her family
again
David and Lin his girl friend got here at 730pm
brought a 10lb precooked turkey and tubs of mashed
potato green beans gravy and cranberry sauce  all picked
up from Whole foods ,all I have to do is pop "tom" into
the oven for an hour and 15 mins
Temps starting off here in the 30's but by the time David and Lin
are ready to run  in the 5K Turkey run in our old town of Stratford
it should be in the 40's and just nice for the runners
She will not be coming back over to eat as her father will be coming
in today from Oklahoma to spend the day with her but David will be over
later on
Not sure when Spencer will be home either as he spent the night with Carmen
confused2
Told me last night that I would have him home for a month pretty soon
as Carmen's brother in Puerto Rico who is looking after their parents
wants her to come give a hand ,they STILL have no electric or running
water ,Spencer is not happy as he said they should have THEM come
HERE to her rather than have her GO THERE ,she has the room as even with
her Uncle now living with her she has a 3 bedroom house ,but the brother
wants her to GO THERE ,Spencer just does not understand it confused2

Anyway Buddy had me up at 430am again ,in his inner clock its 530am and TIME
for mommy to GET UP headbanger

Oh one other thing David and Lin brought me a HUMONGOUS red and white
Poinsettia its GORGEOUS,mind you had to put it way up on my china cabinet
as they are poisonous to catmilkbowl

Anyway Bond enjoy your day and no you did not miss Vicky's picture I was
on my tablet and it was showing Vicky in that long black dress showing
off her "ASSETS" funnytvprog  on closer inspection it looked like you
Vicky were sporting long black drop earrings  and black shoes

OK so I shall away Blaine and Gil still in bed confused1

Good morning all from Atherstone just got light here, we had a lot of wind and rain in the night, I see this morning that they had floods in Lancashire over night having the fire service having to rescue people from their homes,
Did I miss a dress photo? To have blue or red added
So a bit of decorating needed, could not Bev and & Evette put some old clothes on and have a go? And the money they save have a meal out with buy something nice, you never know I may have some free time in the new year but unti the pantomime has done all mine time is taken up
In fact I got the offer of a nice job down your way when the weather gets better, they want a beach/seaside painting on their fence to brighten up the garden.
Well done Carole keep up the good work it will all get better as you get into a system
Breakfast and it's cornflakes hot milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice
Off to Owen Street this morning

Night you two
My other suggestion is can't she call him
and arrange for him to get them from a
2nd "party",,how about her girlfriend Evette ?
if he is not allowed at her flat
Nice dress Vicky would look good with either
royal blue or red accessories me thinks ,keep
that in mind
Tomorrow then

Well she was worried about the cost....it's a heavy package and of course she can't just put them in the ordinary post, it would cost enough with the ordinary post but they've got to go by Recorded Delivery but as I said she's worried about the cost.

Oh beautiful photo Carole......lovely dress.  Susan hated wearing shoes as well....as you can see.....though she loves shoes now.   Smile

She was looking for a painter because when Chris had his large sideboard  taken away there were  patches  left on the wall so she wanted this wall painted.  talktohand  Evette will pay to have someone come around.      As to the personal papers, no she wants him to have them back but she doesn't want to go near where he lives and he can't come and get them.....he's not allowed anywhere near the flat, by the council's orders.   She's asked  the housing dept woman if she'd take them across to him but she's said she won't.   Bev wants the shelf in the shed, she's given various things belonging to Chris away making room but she feels she can't just dump those papers, I'd offer to shred them for her but I don't know how I'd stand  confused2  so I'm not.

Oh I got you all some cheese  chips and a large jar of pickles.

That was how I found out I was not Roberts #3 wife  that
he told me when we first met {first wife died young in a car accident}
2nd wife was the mother of his son and daughter Robert Jnr and Kathleen
and I was supposed to have been #3 .....
Papers I found of his AFTER we married did NOT COMPUTE ,so found
ANOTHER wife he was told not to tell me about {{lest I get gun shy}
Then found  out  about ONE more when we divorced so I was REALLY his
SIXTH wife headbanger
Love that Avatar Vicky

us pictures ,if you post them on FB I will "LIFT" them
funnytvprog

They were showing your weather ,saying its going to be HOT for
Thanks Giving

Well the Dr was very pleased with this Limey ,according to
HER figures {keep in mind you get weighed with your clothes on}
I have lost just over 5 lb in a month {my numbers are 8lb down
as I weigh myself in just my night dress every morning ,so I am ALSO
pleased with myself }anyway she was pleased with that
also pricked my finger and my sugar was 116 ,{it should fall
between 70-130} so was pleased with that as well ,said the
6.5 reading my Thyroid Dr got last month was the readings
over the last 6 mths and anything OVER 6 defines you as
Diabetic ,but I was ONLY .5 over so not THAT bad

Enjoy yourself then Bond .....
POURED down on my way home torrential but stopped now

Got Gil up when I got back even though he wanted to stay in bed nono

I shall be back later see what Vicky has to say

I am glad Peter did not stay around for Melanie's birth or he would have
fainted in the middle of things. Peter had a problem with the sight of blood
(mainly his own ) He would drop like a tree!
and was no help when the kids cut themselves either.
I only found out when he was working on a project with a craft knife(very sharp)
and he just crashed on the floor at Mums House while we were courting.
The kids used to laugh because I hid all the sharp items and he had to ask if he could
have even a pair of scissors! He managed to shave himself without a
problem with a SAFETY razor.

Anyway, must get on here as I just had a call from the Awning guy, they have a job up
the hill in Palos Verdes today so would be available to do my job today as well.
Got a lot done yesterday, just one small blanket left to wash and put the items back under the sink.
(I was sorting them yesterday)
Its funny, I must have had a premonition as after I put the bins out, I decided to stack the patio chairs and table at the far side of the patio ready for the Awning people. I knew they should be calling about now so
am ready for them.
Got to throw on some clothes and have a bite to eat so TTFN

It takes more than a day to go everywhere Bond.....Susan and Matt went to Edinburgh the other year and didn't get to see everything.....the same this time.    You go through the shopping centre to get to the Royal Yacht....passed Top Shop and ....Bingo there it is.  A bit like the Sphinx...you walk by the Spar grocers store and there it is ...the Sphinx.

Susan loved the "expensive" shops.....of course she bought a bag....which was in the sale so it was only £570 she said ......though she had to watch how much she put in the case. "I could have spent a fortune" Mad .....I'll have to start saving up for when David & I go for a weekend.

You went to Gatehead on the way back from Edinbrough then Bond?

Gosh Carole they usually ask you how it's spelt.....David was asked how we wanted Steve's name spelt.   confused2

Dad's weren't usually in on the birth until after late 70's....Susan was born 1979 and David was allowed to be with me.....though Rob was 1970 and David couldn't stay with me.....not that he could us having Steve if they'd allowed it then.    Now it's "You WILL stay with your wife"

Well I'm off out with Bev tomorrow.....so speak to you tomorrow.

Oh Margaret I'll keep a look out about those bears

Gil registered Tracie but the registrar never asked
HOW we wanted it spelt so he came home with her
certificate reading Tracy ,not Tracie after I cried buckets
(You know how women are after a birth )he went back
and she has an amendment to her birth certificate
With her name spelt how I wanted it spelt
Tracie Marie
When we had Blaine I WROTE it down so there would
be no mistake Blaine Darryl funnytvprog

Gil never had the pleasure of witnessing any of our births
Anyway I have showered washed my hair as tomorrow I see
the Dr / nutritionist and
Will speak tomorrow guys

We did get to stand At the feet the big feet of the angel of the north
Hot chocolate

Just been natter on the telephone  to Susan....she was telling me all about Edinburgh....it's the 4th best City in THE WORLD   .....she didn't get to see the Royal Yacht though she said after Saturday and the  Sunday was a full itinerary as was Monday until they had to pack to go to the airport.   I would have been seeing the Royal Yacht first   anyway they had a lovely time.

They've booked up to see a house on Thursday

I didn't have the caster oil in the end anyway Carole.....that was the time I patted my tum and my contractions started.

Oh that was like my cousin Carol when her second was born Brian dashed off to have her registered but he'd misheard and when the register asked the name Brian said Nita Lorraine....trouble was it was supposed to be "Anita Lorraine"   oh dear he was in the dog house for days  "Nita NITA give you one simple job"  Smile

Oh yes David was with me when Susan was born, though neither of the boys when they were born, they didn't in those days as Carole said.....though whose hand I was holding heavens only knows it wasn't David's.   Big hairy hand    Shocked ....then the midwife said "It's a girl"  in a disappointed way ...I asked if she was ok, and nobody answered I looked at David and said "Is she ok?" he never said....well all ideas were going through my mind and I said "Is she ok?"   and then the midwife said "She's beautiful"  phew!!   David went off to tell his parents & the boys.....my MIL told me afterwards David said "Oh it wasn't too bad"   Shocked

Hot chocolate please Bond......love that cheeky photo of Susan

Some many years ago a mate said that there was a couple of jobs going in Coventry for a  photographer of nude ladies and someone to airbrush the lady gardens out I said ether of those jobs would kd suit me fine, he said OK I'll pick you up early in the the morning to go to Manchester, I said I thought you said it was at Coventry, he said it is Manchester is we're the end of the interview cue is funnytvprog
Sorry ladies, I was at the birth of both of ours and I've said after if birth was down to us men there wouldn't be so many if any in the world or we would of (can't think of the words) found other ways to do it

Ahhh THERE she be ,glad your OK Marge
"social butterfly" you ....Oh almost forgot
the 10 days of rest in the hospital you got
back then ,of course Spencer was the only one
I had THAT with ,but in my case I was BORED
to tears as he was kept in the Nursery after having
two blood exchanges as he would fall to sleep
while being fed so the nurses were feeding him
he picked up a bit after the 2nd exchange though
but by then it was almost time for ME to be sent
home ,but had to leave him there for an extra week
Yes Vicky that was what the midwife did with Blaine
nicked the membrane
I only forgot one thing in the hospital ,Spencer's middle name
we had planned to call him {if a boy} Spencer Lee ,but the registrar
came the morning after I had given birth at 805pm on Tuesday Oct 6th
and guess I was still in a daze {no sleeping pills } so when asked his
name I just said Spencer ,would have waited only then Gil would
have had to have gone all the way back there as they only went in once
a week so guess I was rushing it and not thinking confused2

Finished my Kindle book as well Vicky down loaded another

I am SLOWLY winding D O W N ,,,knackered
so back later

BOND LARGE L & L please

Ahhhh yes that's what my mate told me about "Cod Liver Oil" ....or was it "Caster Oil"? it was some sort of oil....no not bike oil Bond.....put your fingers into your ears again.....you shouldn't be listening anyway.

Hey Margaret you'll be able to rest up ....at Christmas funnytvprog ....enjoy it Margaret.

I think I was suffering from Social overload, five outings in 8 days is a bit much
for me. (honest I did not drink that much and it was always with food.)
It started a week ago Sunday with June and Rob, Lorna on Tuesday for dinner,
Dinner out with the Brits on Wednesday, meeting on Thursday and yesterdays
early N/H Thanksgiving dinner. I still have one more to go to on Thursday at Teresa's!

There were 12 altogether and one lady popped in just to say Hi. Her husband Stu
is 100% wheelchair bound now from all the strokes he has had so she could not
leave him for very long.
It was fun though, I came home tired out but it was a good feeling. Lorna and I got
left over turkey to bring home as well as a few other bits and pieces.
We ended up sharing stories about some of the squirrely renters we have had over
the years. It sounded so alien to the newer neighbors who have only known the
peaceful and tranquil N/H we now live in. It was a real soap opera in those days!

Since we are sharing our birthing stories, I will share my experience.
We were living in a caravan behind the student residence hall and I was down to go into Bedford
to deliver(whose Idea was that!) its 10 miles as the crow flies but about 15-20 miles by road!
Imagine me going into labor at 2am,ambulance arrives at 3:30am and its off to the cross country
trip down narrow country lanes with the bell ringing (I think the driver had a thing about waking the
cows up!) Peter came with me in the ambulance and fell out on the ground when the attendant opened
the back doors and the steps fell down at the hospital.
I was taken upstairs and prepped and my labor stopped. They were debating if I should be sent home
again but luckily labor started again in about an hour. ( don't think I could have taken another ride like that)
One of the lanes was blocked by small old single decker bus which had broken down. I won't
tell you what lanquage the ambulance driver used but he must have been a sailor in another life!
He made the laborers push the bus into a deep drainage ditch so we could get by.

It was plain sailing once I got into a lying in bed, could not drink the cod liver oil and orange mix and
she made me drink another one and the same thing happened as the first time. It ended up in a bowl.
Peter had to leave as he had to catch the last bus back to the College. As soon as visiting was over,
I was driven at F1 speed to the delivery room. The last hour of my labor was interupted by phone calls
from an slowly worsening drunken Peter calling from the student social club asking if I had had it yet.
The hospital switch board kept putting him through to the delivery room!
I think the delivery team was ready in case I could not deliver the normal way (they ended up
doing X rays a month before I was to deliver as the babies head was perfectly round ) I ended up
with stitches instead. Melanie was born about 11:35 pm finally.
I tell you, the ten days in hospital afterwards were a lovely rest.

Today is clean up day here. I washed everything up but have not put it all away yet.
I also have washingbasket to do and empty the rubbish and recycle bins outside in
the big bins and put them out by the curb.
The place is a tip again after spending a whole day sorting into piles all the mail since last
week. The cats decided It was for them to play in!
Its going to be a very HOT Thanksgiving here so they say. Inland could go up into the 90s.
(and I just put the fans away!)

I just sent away for a USA teddy bear from the US Olympics team, its to raise money
to help defray the expenses for the team. If the UK has one Please let me know.
Its time to get to work here as its not going to get done by its self. TTFN
