First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

escapes the old memory

Yes was wondering how much Vincent can add to his SS/pension
with out having to pay ,just like us getting a P/T job anything over
a certain amount you have to pay
better do your home work Marge he sounds like there is nothing
wrong with his brain

Vicky can you jump up and down if I hum a few bars ♪ ♪

Had a long talk with Ian about Vincent and he feels the same way I do.
That Vince wants more money because he has something in mind.
He has been getting the same amount for about five years now so
maybe it does not buy what it used to.
Peter increased it by ten pound a month at some point and he was
satisfied with that at the time. We want to find out why Vince suggested
getting his allowance in a lump sum, not every month. Before offering him
a choice of a lump sum once a year or if we raise the monthly allowance
by another 10 pound each month. Stipulating that once he has the lump
sum, he cannot ask for any other money for 12 months or another
extra amount of money each month.
Vince was already when I suggested he might be liable for a reduction
in his pension with such a large amount but he says he can get up to
6,000 pounds without being penalized.
He definitely knows his stuff so have to be prepared for his next phone call.

Oh yes now who sang that "Cry me a river".....I can hear it but can't put a face to her.

Susan never treated her tenants like that and Matt doesn't treat his......I do so hope Keith knows what he's doing also.

No Steve & Claire aren't married but they're happy, they've been together 15 years.....so I'm not worried about Rob & Dawn not being married.

A certain song comes to mind
"I'm gonna cry me a river"...don't ask me WHY

Listening to Barbara with what she is having to put
up with with her  landlord ,and then Keith
who arrived here at 1:15pm after moving his "friend"
Now it seems where he SAID he fixed the leak in the heating
pipe in the down stairs bathroom ,its LEAKING STILL and a leak
UNDER the new sink/cabinet he installed Saturday headbanger

Says he needs to TURN OFF the Downstairs heating zone in order
to "sweat" the pipe ...I just HOPE he KNOWS what he is doing
and obviously NOTHING will be getting done up here again today

I know when to speak Vicky just do not like threatening like
next door must do we assume in order to get her wishes done
I do not want to say anything right NOW though as I KNOW
the Landlord has no one else to finish the work that has been
her response every time I asked to get something done
"do you know how hard it is to find contractors" ,well we ALL
know the answer to that "if she paid them on time that would not happen"
confused2
That sounds like something I may try with Gil Marge if it helps
with the eye eye
As to Vincent we know he will not pull the wool over YOUR eyes
and as I said before ,he should thank his lucky stars that pete
made that arrangement for him after his Dad died

Did you get any response about Big Red Marge ?

Vicky that is GREAT news about Rob and Dawn whether
they marry or not ,a lot do not these days confused2
So hope they find something they both love and SOON

Again the weatherman was right said the clouds would creep
in after noon and take the sunny  away ....makes it feel colder
than it is as well

Made pork chops in the oven with a tomato sauce and a light
covering of Mozzarella just before taking them out
Have some rice ,and broccoli carrots and pea pods that
have been sauteed in a little red wine vinegarette to
accompany them
Sounds like your going to have to rebuild your appetite
Vicky

I do not take a multi vitamin after reading something about them
some years back
Luckily I have no problems upsetting my tummy like Marge
I take my Thyroid pill when I get up at 5am ,then my BP pills
and re-flux pill with my only cup of coffee while checking
everything on my  and lastly my Sizvastatin when I go to
bed after having dinner

Keith just called up stairs says he has to DRAIN the boiler
so has to go get some hose so he can drain it outside
I told him as long as HE KNOWS what he is DOING
Be back before bed I HOPE

I tried having the multi after eating Margaret but no good, they still upset my tum so I gave up.....I start taking my first lot of tablets at 8:00 my 4 neuralgia tablets.....then an hour later 3 more a relaxing tablet for the veins to allow the blood to go through, 2 which are BP tablets.....about mid day I have  my iron tablet and about 4:00 in the afternoon 2 neuralgia tablets......then in the evening around 7:00 I have my other iron tablet & a Folic Acid tablet which I have every 3 days because if I take that every day THAT upsets my tum, around 10:00 I have a statin    Grrrrrr!!!!!   and then around 11:00 I have 4 tablets for my neuralgia .....and the day has ended.    I do feel at times I'm doing nothing but taking flaming pills.  talktohand  but I couldn't take all my pills after breakfast anyway they have to be stretched out.confused2    But I'll look for C & Zinc ones.

Oh please don't let Vince put the "Poor little me" act on Margaret......stand firm, as I know you will.   He's got a nerve.

Vicky, try taking them after eating as it
acts as a buffer as it dissolves.
I have never had any problem taking mine
and I have been taking the same multi
vitamin since I was 50.
I always take all my pills after breakfast
except the thyroid pill as that has to be taken
at least half an hour before eating.
I only have three prescription meds and
the other vitamin supplements
so not a lot to fiddle with.

I have just started taking a supplement for
my eyes which has Omega-3 in it and Lutein
so have dropped the Omega -3 supplement
I was taking. Lutein is supposed to be very
good for the  eye  so want to see if I can
improve my vision even if its a little before
taking the eye test at the DMV and the driving
later.
Lorna swears that Loki's eyes have improved
since she put him on a food containing Lutein
as his cataracts were getting quite bad and
she could not afford surgery to fix them.
His eyes look much clearer than they were.

From my window it looks like another  sunny
California day but it is only 51f right now and
only going up to 58f for the high. The humidity
level is at 32%(about normal here) and the
overnight low will be 37f.
So nice and brisk which is how I like it.

Got a lot done yesterday so going to finish off
this morning with the cats ablutions and sweep
the kitchen floor so I can  mop it tomorrow.

I thought I was through coping with recovering addicts
but now Vince has added himself to the group.
He couldn't get me to part with some of his mothers
jewelry so now he is trying to get me to increase his
monthly allowance and give it to him in one lump sum
once a year!
I told him that I am getting half of the SS and Peters
company pension since he passed away and had to
get with my tax man to see what can be done.
(I only tell the truth) as there has to be enough going in
the account before I can take any out.

I am NOT giving him free rein with my money as he will
only  expect more.
I have told him before that as his Dad left him out of his will,
Peter generously decided to give him an allowance from
the inheritance to help him have some pocket money each
month being as Vince has been declared 100% disabled
and has free medical care and a place to live on the State.
He is however not above trying to get more cash if he can.
That's why I don't ever want him to find out where Ian lives
as he would quickly become a pest!
He likes to allude to his connections with the British Hells Angels
(he says he got his Associates rocker to put on a leather
waistcoat.)
I think he is hoping to get money out of me for a fine leather
jacket to put it on!
He has no other relatives to put the squeeze on and he knows
that Melanie is on 100% disability also. What he does not know
is that Jim is also on 100% disability because of Spinal stenosis.
I am also subsidizing Ian 's Orthodonture  work  at this time.

The kids know I am not an ATM but will help out on occasion.
Which Melanie has already  over drawn on in the past.
Its a good job I have been in a 12 step program for as long as
I have so I am NOT about to be manipulated by any of them
any more.
I have earned everything I have by being a loving ,caring wife
and care taker for 54 years and what I have is what Peter
intended for me to have.
They will get what is left after I am gone, not before.
TTFN

Afternoon........will not be going out, it's looking chilly anyway.

Thanks Margaret my doctor once advised me to start taking Multi but they upset my tum,  I do take iron tablets (from my doctor) but I'll look in the Chemist for the tablets you've suggested.

The Concert was brill, of course the little kids stole the show but the older girls were good also, gosh how tall Laura looks on the stage, she's the tallest in her dancing class.   No Carole  The Witch or HIM wasn't there, Rob said she was going to the evening show, most likely taking HIM with her. Though we did see and talk to The Witches parents,  Margaret came up to us,  they had obviously seen us when they came in (4 rows in front of us) though Rob and I were nattering, well he was talking to me, if I talk too much I start to cough, and it was only when she was standing in front of us and she clapped her hands in front of Rob we noticed her, David had been watching the screen telling everyone of events to come, plays, concerts etc, and he said "Oh hi, how are, where's John?"  she turned and John was there, he started talking to Rob and Margaret said to me "You've not been well I hear, how are you now?" I said "So so" and we were talking about the kids how well they were doing and then they went off to their seats saying see you later.....which we did, walked back to the car park together talking about the concert & Laura.    Well it's not their fault they've got such a bitch for a daughter.  confused2     Oh Rob & Dawn have decided to sell their own houses and buy a house together, not too far from Nuneaton but it's got to be in the country, she'll be starting up the  business, as she's got in Sheffield.   I was thrilled when he told me.....but he said they've got to sell their houses & find the perfect house in the perfect place, they're just internet searching at the moment.   And no Carole they're not getting married.

Oh dogs & cats are so funny I laugh at Benjie knowing we're off out and trotting into his cage.....also hear the word beddy byes, or even just bed, at night, and he shows his tummy wanting a last tummy tickle. funnytvprog

Oh I wouldn't take much notice of that Doctor Carole about having 7 or 8 hours sleep, one Doctor says one thing another Doctor will say another.....I remember them saying Mrs Thatcher only had 4 hours sleep and she ran our Country.  And was GREAT a Lady.

Edison only slept 3 to 4 hours.....     Franklin 5 hours,   Bill Clinton was told once by a professor at Georgetown great men do not need many hours sleep  he sleeps 5 hours.

Keith is certainly not a trades man Carole just a guy known to your Landlady who does the odd job for her.      Start to take a leaf out of your next door neighbour and threaten your Landlady with the Authorities.....you're too soft.    Don't let Keith flip flop between jobs, think of Gil, he can't carry on with this.

I love Dusty's music.....we've got a CD of her music .....my Aunt Margaret used to wear her hair high on the top and tied back with a bow, as Dusty did, this was in the 60's, she was a natural blonde.

Avatar was in Sept .....we were just having a nibble.

Morning Bond  MORNING BOND
wonder if he heard me
Have fun with your paint brush

Just listening to a Dr's report on Sleep
deprived people ,says we need an average
of 7 to 8 HOURS a NIGHT
those who get less tend to do silly things
as they are lacking in sleep Shocked
Wonder if that includes riding our brooms Smile

Well hope Vicky is feeling better this morning
and that Marge had a good night ,hope you were
able to rescue the upchucked on tee shirt
maybe they were trying to tell you something

Right now Buddy and Tabitha are having a "go to" he was
down stairs and come running up with her half holding on his
back Rolling Eyes ,so he chased her under an end table ,now a days
he does not back off like he USED to do ,but there again
so far have not seen any actually claws OUT fighting Surprised

So back later more sorting to do today trying to get my
kitchen back to normal
Keith is SUPPOSED to be here around noon now today
as he is helping a "friend" move this morning ,but was
going to come over and wash the remaining cabinets
and stain the side he has already done so we will not only
have more "PONG" to put up with but tackiness as WELL headbanger
His problem he jumps from ONE project to another instead of
starting and finishing ONE thing at a time Mad

So glad to hear from you Vicky.
As Carole said, make sure you wrap up warm
and take it easy.
I woke up this morning to a T-shirt I had been given by
the Chow girls who work at another pet food chain.
(It was over the back of a dining chair ) was now on
the floor and one of the cats had up chucked on it!
I can only guess that it smelt of the pet store and they were
playing with it and got a little too excited.

I was so tired when I got home from hitting both Petco and Petsmart
& grocery store that I only put away the perishables and left the bags
with the rest on the kitchen floor.
I picked up a new product. Going to refresh all their toys
by putting them all in a box, adding the ground up catnip and giving it a
good shake. it looks like ground black pepper. It sounds good but we will
see what effect it has on them.

I swear that Ian must have thrown away some of the mice he found under
the sofa/bed in the den as it looks like the count is down. There should have
been at least 15-20 mice under there. Its like squirrels stashing nuts for later,
Tab knows where all of them are and if I do a "mousey hunt" and put them
in the middle of the floor, they disappear back where they were in about 10
minutes!
Right now they are playing with a black mouse with bright pink ears , its
about 1 and 1/2'' long with a long tail which I have not seen in a long time.

Weather here seems to be settling into more of a winter pattern now.
Still bright sun but its only 60f right now going up to a high of 63f.The
over night low will be 47f and it is 60% humidity at the moment.
It seems the forecast for the coming week will be about the same
in our area. See you had a little earthquake over in the UK.
They have had a quite big one down in Southern Mexico.

Carole, hoping you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel soon.

Vicky, you can fortify your immune system with some vitamin C
and Zinc. I suck at least two lozenges a day of a "defense" product
that boosts your immune system. Its made by a company named Hall's
and it is fruit flavored. I have one in the morning and one at night.
I also take a multi vitamin for 50+ aged people . It compensates for
what you are not getting from your food.
My doctor says its a good insurance policy for days when you do not
feel like eating much.
I am trying not to eat any fast food or take away and limit my dining
out to once a week.
I have been invited out to Teresa's for dinner on Presidents day (Monday)
along with Lorna but I watch what I eat even there.
I am also pre diabetic according to my numbers but my numbers are borderline.
so should be able to be controlled with diet only.

Time is getting on here and I have lots to do so its Brooms away girls.TTFN

PHEW well glad to see you back Vicky
just happy it was not your BP this time
but a bug you say ,and lost weight too
well your bound to when your flaked out
as you said cos your not eating are you
So now you have to regain your strength
I REALLY thought you had taken off {on your broom}
and flown over to Marge with OUT ME
But Marge said nothing about any ICBB {IN COMING BRITSH BROOM}
flights so knew you had not gone that way

Enjoy Laura's dance routine then ,guess witch bitch and donkey brains
will also be there no ?
Speak later hopefully Basketball

Congrats about the diabetics Carole.   and losing weight, me too though not for the right reasons.   confused2    I've had a bug......been flaked out, didn't even hear the phone in our bedroom when it rang, I was so out of it.     still not 100% but getting there.   We're going to Bedworth this afternoon though to see Laura dance at Bedworth Civic Hall if it hadn't been for watching Laura I still wouldn't be going out but we've never missed her......last night I was thinking "Sorry Laura not this year"  but today I'm getting there so. confused2   Oh we're meeting Rob..... AND the Witches parents are going also.....though not with us of course, we might see them inside, maybe not.  They can't help having a daughter the way she is.....and they did think a lot of Rob.

Coventry lost 3-1 Margaret, so we're out of the cup.

Hi Bond.

I'll post again.....later or tomorrow.

Morning Bond ,well guess what time Keith left
here last night ......10:15PM ....he has the
toilet fitted back in and the sink/vanity and even PAINTED
a coat of paint and installed and REPAIRED the radiators
,says he would like to give it one more coat
though but can do that with the vanity/toilet in even though
its a close fit in the space ....
Have to come back though possibly this morning as he said
he did not have enough "something for the sink drain" went up
IN THE SNOW to Home Depot at 945pm to get it but they close
at 9pm in the winter months 10pm in summer ,but says he has some
at his house
Then all he has to do is put some back splash behind the sink
{from up here that is left over} and make a couple of shelves on the side
of the vanity
Looks like night to DAY funnytvprog was always a nasty space down there
Anyway we got the heavy WET snow as predicted [that is the ♥️ attack kind}
so people should be careful shoveling ....

Next week Keith has to finish washing down the cabinets in front of the sink
and after they dry stain and then a coat of clear vanish and we SHOULD BE DONE cheers
He also has a job interview Tuesday so will only be over Monday then Wednesday
If he gets the job not sure whether next door will get HER counters done
as its a full time job {he is 61} PLUS hers are BIGGER than mine as the middle
"unit" is bigger all around than in here ,and they would have to be custom made
which cost a GREAT DEAL MORE than MINE did
But Spencer said she has had THAT done twice before so he bets the
Landlady will OK the deal ,she seems to be afraid of next door for what
ever reason {Spencer thinks its because she threatens to call the authority's
on her if the things she wants doing do not get done} confused2

OK so lets hope SOMEONE lets us know whats happening with Vicky
as she is still MIA ,wish she could text one of us headbanger
Morning Marge hope you and the West coast are faring well this
morning ,we are now going to be on the UP SWING reaching the 60's
by mid week affraid

Tks for the Bond
Back later run run run run run

Hello Marge good your getting there
would the IBGuard pills help you ?
Well Keith has been hard at it since arriving
but now informs me he has to go to Home Depot
for a plumbing kit as one of the heating elements
{he said he must have broken it} needs something
doing to it as its leaking slowly
He said the toilet will only take a few mins to replace
now the new flange is in ,but wants to paint some before
putting it back in as its a tight space down there ,you could
REALLY NOT swing a catmilkbowl around
He seemed in a better mood when he came up for some water
anyway ,and as you said I understand he has to take care
of the little woman ,too bad he could not get more done while
she was out of town

That is what this place needs REPLACEMENTS being 34 yrs old

Starting to cloud over and temps dropped to 33f right now
Will be back before bed to see if anyone has popped in

Yes, I am feeling a lot better.
It takes it out of you though having to
shower and put clean clothes on in the
middle of the night. Thank goodness
nothing else was involved.
It doesn't happen very often and I have
no idea what causes it.
Fairly bland food for a couple of days
should have my stomach back to normal.

Our weather is in for a change as well.
It should get a lot cooler in the days
ahead which might include some rain.

I too have to go to the store later as
I need a few things including more
cat food.
I guess Coventry lost their FA Cup game
against Brighton as they were 2-0 down
when I looked at my BBC sports app on
my iPad last.
My Cable company, out of all the FA Cup
games being played today chose this game
to put on Pay-per-View!
I think the Man U game is on later.

Carole , I can see both side of this problem.
One car your repairman is driving and his wife
comes home and says the brakes are not working
on her car, what choice does he have? confused2
You on the other hand are getting delayed and delayed
in getting back into your kitchen to cook proper meals
for Gil and yourself.
That's part of the reason I am not inclined to go get a
handyman in here. My house is beyond a handyman
at this stage. Its core repairs or replacements after
living in this house for 48 years!
Its now weatherproof and better insulated. Next is the
plumbing, it needs the sewer cleaning out as I know it has
problems with tree roots and it has not been done in over
10 years. and the water shut off valves are original to
the house! I think the rest of the system is fairly tight
as my water bill has not shown any sign that it might be
leaking. I also want a new garbage disposal unit.

These have to be taken care of as we look like being charged
more on our water bills as we are looking at another dry year
out here. Use less and pay more for it.
The snow pack in the Sierras is one of our water sources
and it is very sparse this winter. Conservation is the name of the
game if we cannot get water from the Colorado river or from
the huge pipeline running down the state from the Sacramento
delta. Most of the Artisian wells along the coast are full of brackish
water from the sea water infiltrating the fresh water as the level gets
lower and lower.
Our City has bought a desalination unit to turn the brackish water into
usable water to use in place of the potable water they use on all the
city owned property. We have golf courses and parks and center
medians and schools that need outdoor facilities with trees and grass.
There are thousands of trees in this town along our streets and in the
parks. It would cost a fortune to replace them all.
They are one thing that keeps the air in our city so clean besides the ocean
breezes.
On my soapbox again, S California does take a lot of upkeep to keep it
looking the way it does.
I do hope its nothing too serious with Vicky

Good evening all, just Back from Coventry, a lovely show, son of a preacher man with all Dusty songs, the story was A bit odd but I they had to link the songs together with a bit of a story they were all talented musicians and very good singers once you got over the fact that nobody could sing the songs like Dusty it was okv
Just a bit of a rest then off up town to a 65 birthday party with food and a band so sorry Vicky I'll be quiet coming in

Morning Bond
I had the alert on my cell phone
for a WINTER WARNING for later today
starting at 5pm when the snow will start
1 to 2" falling an hour not the fluffy kind either
the WET HEAVY KIND
,THEN next week he is saying now on the 5am news
as I watch we could flirt with SEVENTY DEGREES
the middle of next week....
He is saying a very unusual weather pattern for this
time of the year with temps about 20 degrees higher
all the way up to the NORTH POLE confused2

My daughter is talking about coming on a "road trip"
with Timmy as well as she has some accumulated
time off due her from Silver Airways ,not that I do
not want to see her but to drive 2 days up and back
to spend a couple of days here is not my idea of fun

Well PLEASE don't say Vicky is under the weather again Shocked
I only wish she had SOME WAY like Marge does of letting us know
when this happens so we do not worry so much not knowing
with not hearing on the site from them confused2

Bond have a good time then and hopefully see you later
I am going to the shopper while I can as tomorrow
will not be happening as I normally do run run run run

WHOOPS almost forgot
MORNING LADIES

Keith has the toilet out I just saw ,but had to go
back to the Home Depot as needed a flange or something
was going to clean up the radiator covers even though
they looked like they were rusted through, but just told
me he had talked the Landlady into getting new ones
{they are not THAT much} said he was cementing around
the toilet base so that will take time to set ,trouble is his
WIFE is on her way back from a trip and he has to leave
pretty soon to go pick her UP ,so will have to come back
tomorrow and be here most of the day ...well I HOPE SO
as Spencer wanted to come home today for a few hours

bounce bounce I am STOKED
after seeing Dr Gallati and having
my finger pricked and LOSING 15lbs since
my last visit,I can STOP taking the diabetic
pills Metformin as my numbers are now PRE-DIABETIC
at 6.1 Shocked
She is also putting me back on my regular Thyroid pills
after dropping them down and adding something else
that she thought might give me a boost energy wise
but I have not noticed a big difference so she said she
cannot see me paying for a co-pay that I do not have to

Do not have to see her again for 3mths when she wants
to do an ultra sound of my Thyroid area

Saw the Nutritionist on the way out ,and she was also very pleased
at my news ,I see her next month

Well despite Keith saying he would be here EARLY to start down stairs
he has YET to arrive {1030am} so what's new confused2

Raining on and off here but still mild 45f

So will sit here waiting on someone to come in and HEAR MY
GOOD NEWS run run

Morning ,sorry I did not get in to play
ride around Vicky's kitchen on our brooms
last night ,was knackered again ,its all because
I do not get chance to sit longer than  a few minutes
during the day with Keith being here ,and I cannot lock
catmilkbowl  up any where  so I am up and down ALL the
time he is here then of course that is with out what I am normally
doing around the house

David was supposed to stop by ,but did not call until 7pm and I
was already in bed ,said he was up in Bridgeport for some meetings
that ran longer than expected ,so I told him lets do it another day
He came up on the train so did not have to drive back to NY in
the rain that is STILL falling this morning

I cannot believe the temps this morning 46f at 5am almost 60 down
in New York City , BUT wait until tomorrow night affraid  4 to 8ins
of snowy  going to drop ,but the weatherman is saying it will
melt quickly confused2
I have to get Gil up before I leave for my Thyroid Dr's appointment
so better get going as according to Keith he is coming over this morning
going to start the downstairs loo to get it out of the way BEFORE
Spencer comes home to sleep again
as what he has to do up here can be finished next week
Well that is the PLAN

So back later
That mask Bond is that I wonder how some THINK they look like
in their minds  eye  confused2

MORNING LADIES ITS FRI FRI DAYYYYYY

Its terrible about the guns over here,so easy
to obtain them ..and look what happens innocent
lives lost ,they are saying this 19 yr old is Autistic
lost his adoptive father early in life ,and his adoptive
mother was one of the flu victims who died from complications
three months ago ,they say he was depressed but no
reason to people

Well the Occupational therapist nurse has been and left
coming back next week ,she was very concerned over
Gil's mobility and my ability having to handle him confused2
she also said she was impressed at how we had both accepted
what is happening to him ,but as I said what can you do confused2
She said she was concerned for his safety but did not know what
to suggest to help ,well really there is NOTHING anyone can do

She said she will show Gil a few exercises to do but its just
a matter of watching he does not fall as nothing is obviously
going to make it get any better

Keith is finishing off the counter putting the trim under the cabinets
that he had to do as he could not push the back splash up under them
like he had planned
Then tomorrow he plans on washing the cabinets over & under the sink
and while they dry he will start down stairs

Just made fresh chicken tenders in my Air Fryer this time they came
out PERFECTO .as when I followed the recipe book on how to do fish
it sucked ,but on the actual machine it says different 400f for 20mins
the book said 390f for 7 mins OBVIOUSLY it was not hot or LONG enough
♪ I'm so excited ♪
Anyway just have to make a jacket potato and open a can of peas
and we are good to go

Drinks please Bond pass your plates

Marge that garage must think they are dealing with a normal 76 yr old
go get um woman

Vicky pack your bag in case we are needed as back up ....brooms at a ready

See the new car tax in April Bond will see thousands of motorists paying hundreds of pounds more, diesel car owners are set to be hardest hit, well of course they are years ago the Government were telling the car drivers to give up petrol because it was bad for the ozone, so what did we all do.....change to diesel AND THEN the Government in their wisdom started to hit the diesel drivers, saying THAT was bad for the ozone and petrol was better  headbanger and of course diesel went UP when we'd been told to change to diesel, give up petrol, talktohand though hey petrol isn't cheap......now we're going to be hit again, it'll mean some drivers won't be able to carry on owning a car......so more diesel buses will be on the roads. Oh wise wise government "Let's hit the car driver in any way we car" I am sick of being hit in the pocket.......we said years ago us plebs would be taken off the roads and only government staff and MP's would be able to  :driver: well guess what .....it's coming home to roost.   soapbox  Margaret didn't put her box away.

Don't these people know that's what phones are for?
If they are running late they can at least call to let
you know.
I got the same run around when I phoned Gasser's
Garage to see what was happening to Big Red.
"Oh, we had the whole staff out with the flu,
so yesterday was the first day they were all back."

Its the carburetor that's causing all the problems
so they say, they were going to take it all apart and give it
St
a good clean and put it back on and see what happens.
I asked how much money I was in for and he said at
the moment it stands about $500.
If its the fuel pump (fingers crossed it isn't) then that's
more $$$$.
He said that if he does not call by 4pm today I should call
him.
I have been very patient with them but if the S*** needs
to hit the fan ,so be it!
They are not dealing with just any old lady here!

Still dealing with the school shooting in Florida, I cannot understand
the apathy that the US government shows to these events.
There is a 5,000 lb Gorilla that everyone is tiptoeing around and
its the NRA (national Rifle Ass.) Still no legislation on outlawing
"Bump" Stocks for semi automatic guns after the Los Vegas
shooting and nothing will get done about the sale of AR-15s
to civilians with banana clips that can hold many rounds of ammo.

This gun was bought legally by a 19 year old!
That would not happen in this state as you have to be 21 and there is
a background check and a 30 day waiting period before you can pick
up the gun.
They could pass laws prohibiting internet sales or trade over state
borders for a start. You should have to be a resident of the state
you are buying the gun in. They can limit the amount of ammunition
you are allowed to buy in any 30 day period.
Owners should be responsible for securing all guns in the house
with trigger locks, using a gun safe and keeping the ammo in separate
place locked up unless they are in the house.
Safe gun owners do all these things. I know I would.
Heck, California has a law that you cannot sell liquor or cigarettes to
anyone under 21 or the store could lose their license, that's why you
get ID'd when you buy these things. Its time all the states got together
on this issue if the Feds won't.
I am putting my soapbox away for now.
