First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

Hi Vicky here for a few mins waiting on
the therapist to arrive also David some time
today ,and Keith called saying he would be here
around 1230 only had to get his "cousin" whom apparently
he looks after etc a Doctors appointment
So would only be able to stay a couple of hours but would finish
off the counter and replace the section that cracked as he found
a piece that will fit
I said fine by me as your throwing my cooking times all to hell
I asked when he was going to do the bathroom as with Spencer
at Carmen's NOW would be a good time to do it ,so he said he might
pull the toilet before he left as he has to replace some tiles under it and
level it up ,and if needs be would come over Saturday morning to work on
it as he has yet to finish WASHING the rest of the cabinets UP HERE
and would have to wait for them to dry before being able to stain them

Down stairs should not take longer than a day and a half  as its really small
WE SHALL SEE

Its 1pm Keith not here YET AGAIN headbanger
I can feel my BP rising
Be back as therapist will be here in 30mins
Oh Barbara will not be here till Monday ANOTHER
long story confused2

Nice pic of you is that your necklace I spy ?

Bond BOND bounce  calm down I am sure
the nice "mask" man will show you how
or even make YOU a mask for your VERY OWN

Well we have showers passing out of the State
right now and the temps should rise to almost 60f
later with brief glimpses of the sunny

Had a better nights Sleep again last night which my old
body was in dire need of again as yesterday I felt like I was
dragging my butt ,especially when Buddy was awake and
around as he was staying close to watch Keith opening and
closing the back door so I was up and down all the time he was
here basically tired
But slept straight from 10pm to 2am ,then after putting Gil to pee
slept until 450am so my spring is back in my step

Keith did not turn up until 1130am ,but had the vanity and sink
for downstairs ,he then had to reinforce the counter around the sink
and so was in and out cutting the wood etc
He glued the last piece of back splash under the window ,and CRACKED
it ,as he kept saying if it gets cold it tends to do that even though he
was trying to be careful ,so he has to get another sheet and will have to
replace a section around the light switches
instead of bringing the sink in after he set the counter down he inserted
it OUTSIDE and carried it all in ,THAT was the wrong thing to do as he caught
the tap on something coming through the door and BROKE IT
so had to run to the Home Depot for a new set headbanger  was here still at 6pm
after doing that clearing up his mess out on the grass
We did not eat until after 5pm and it was something thrown together fast
luckily I still had some Shepherds pie left and the roast beef I had made
Tuesday so sauteed the onions I had already prepared added the beef warmed
the shepherds pie and made some brown gravy

This morning Blaine is still home sick ,he has though a check up appointment
at 345 at our DR's so said he will go see him but is not going into work

The tragedy in Florida breaks my ♥️ only 30mins North of where Tracie lives
last I heard Bond 17 dead including the football coach ,the gunman an ex student
19yrs old whose adoptive mother died 3 mths ago and who had been expelled
from the school he had a AR15 gun

Because of what happened here in Sandy Hook again our CT senators are
up in arms demanding SOMETHING be done about the guns and because
congress is not doing anything about gun control confused2

OK so whats on today ,Gil has Occupational therapy today .I will text Barbara
later to see how she is because tomorrow is going to be CRAZY

Back later
and once again GOOD MORNING LADIES

Good morning all from Atherstone, a nice bright morning here and milder
More bad news from USA with a school shooting, 17 dead and as many serious injuries
Some brave acts will come through the first a sports coach shielding students with his own body and taking multiple rounds
The 18th school shooting this year and it's only February
Yes the play was good and I was rewriting it towards the end, he would get stabed with his own knife and the surgeon would have to save his life, or would he???
Breakfast toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice and L&L Back later

Oh drat why did the Surgeon lose his temper......that's what he wanted "You daft thing you"          It was good though.

Hi Carole & Margaret.....yes Margaret that's what I like about our Crufts when the ordinary dog wins a section " agility trials "  or "smallest"  "scruffiest"  or some such section rather than other sections which have  the pedigree dogs taking place.....the Kennel Club have a lot to answer for.....dogs have to be bred in a certain way, it's down right cruel.     Oops I'm off again.  Smile

run run run run  I'll do the drinks.

Its the Cruft's of America as far as dogs are concerned.
It is held in New York at Madison Square Garden.
I love the day before it officially gets started, they have
Dog agility trials which is open to any kind of dog.
The one that got me cheering was a tiny Pappion (?)
who won the smallest dog classification.

Later I was watching the Olympic snow board event
Our Torrance girl won Gold and I wanted to see if Shawn White
could win another Gold after not medaling at the last winter games.
The qualifying rounds turned into a Man-o-Man battle worthy of a
final when each contestant tried to out do the others.
When it came to Shawn's last run I was almost sick and could not watch
so went in the kitchen and made a snack plate but heard the crowd going
crazy. I was changing channels as fast as I could to see what happened
but had to wait until the days wrap up to see it.
I like watching young people who I feel have great promise wend their
way upwards in their sport to become icons.
Snowboarding was not even a sport when Shawn started out.
Getting the nickname of "The flying tomato" for his red hair and his
skill level led to a local TV station covering this unknown "sport"
and making him stand out. Half Pipe is now known around the world.
I understand that he will be in a skateboard event next.

Time to call Gassers Garage today as Monday was a holiday here so
have given them enough time to find out what is going on with Big Red.
Its been two weeks since I took it in and last Monday they still had not
got it to the point of passing its emissions test.
I was told they did do good work but took their time so I have been patient.
I want to know how much this is costing me so far.
Good job I have another car for transportation.
My AAA policy says I cannot have BR towed from a place that will repair it
to another repair place so the cost of a tow would be on me.
I could however get it towed home. I will wait until I have talked to them
first before deciding what to do next.

Got a couple of bills to go in the post and stop at the Pet shop which are all
in the same area.
Its the weekly dinner tonight and I think we are going back to CoCo's ,
an All American coffee shop.

Hope you all had a nice St. Valentines day, its just starting here.
So many ladies will be off their diets with all the chocolates being eaten.
Roses seem to be the flower of choice.
For me its a bit of a bittersweet day as it is
the anniversary of an ambush at a local hotel that took the life of two brave
police officers. One of which I knew very well as he came on a lot of our
Girl Scout camping trips with his wife and one of his daughters.
I had bumped into him at our local supermarket the night before and he
asked how Ian was doing with being a professional actor so it must have
been at least 20 years ago now.It only seems like yesterday to me sometimes.

Must get moving here or it will be lunch time before I can turn round. TTFN

Well I am gutted ,seems we are not "POOR"
enough to qualify for the immigration waiver
You can only "earn" $20.000 yr together well
with us that would be our and
SS and Gil's $2016 a year pension from when
he worked over here after he returned in 1996
and worked 10yrs before they retired him .....
and we are about $10.000 over that
So looks like I will have to find the $700 it costs
to renew the card for another 10 yrs ,in Gil's case
he will not make it that long crying

Next yes Vicky hoping Barbara will be OK Friday if not
I will have to leave Gil all set up like I used to do
when I had to run any where ,luckily the Dr's office
is only a 5 min ride away and I normally am not there
more than 30mins

Keith is here and GUESS what ,next door complained
to the landlady about the smell and now wants HER kitchen
done {AGAIN} as I told Keith this will be her third counter top
He went around to measure so he can tell the landlady

Be back later

Hi all, I'll do you tomatoes and bacon on toast missy but it may be a late lunch now
Yes the MD of the brush company is a very glamorous herself and the girls that are on the stand are good looking but they also have a knowledge of the making of the brush
The girls that walk around with the 6ft wings on their backs sell raffle tickets for charity and if you have your photo tak n with them it's expected you put some money in their bucket so with the raffle and the collection bucket they raise alot of money for charity and we get to see some lovely eye candy
Was the dog show in the not ?
We have had a nice afternoon on a cold wet windy afternoon a DVD from the he charity shop for 95p of Michael McIntyre showtime at the O2 arena

OH WHAT A DAY its started out to be headbanger

Had a telephone  at 630am from Barbara's agency
saying she had called out sick .and they were looking for
a replacement ,told them not to bother as I have to be at the lawyers
and have no time to wait around on someone new ...
Then got a text from Barbara saying she started with swollen glands
and a low grade fever so figured she had better not bring that over
here with Gil  {the reason Spencer is staying at Carmen's with them both being sick}
then Blaine said HE was not going into work did not feel well

I cannot cancel MY appointment so called and cancelled Gil's therapist
as she was supposed to be here at 10am ,but with Barbara and me not being here
did not think that a good idea told her agency to have her call me after 12
to reschedule

Now I only have to worry about Keith with catmilkbowl  as soon as he
hears the door open he is over there wanting I am sure to get outside
{been over a year almost now that he has been a "house cat" }

Keith knows to look out for him but he does not watch really well
sometimes whipping the door open with out looking first

The Westminster dog show is on every year on TV Vicky confused2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFJb5HfJlPQ

Anyway I have set Gil up after dressing/washing him and giving him
breakfast and have to HOPE he is OK while I am out although Blaine
is close by in bed

Friday Barbara is planning on coming early and leaving earlier
than normal as SHE has a 1030 appointment, but just realized I
have a 930am app with my Thyroid Dr  ,THAT is a reschedule so
cannot cancel that headbanger

I have now been to the waitingloo  FOUR times ....that I KNOW
is nerves

WOW Vicky 50 SMACKERS ,someone must want to keep YOU
around lol!

Back later

run run run run run  Have I missed breakfast?   I'll have a joined breakfast and lunch.    Bacon, tomatoes on toast please.  Smile    Oh and thank you for the

Well done the big shop so that's it  fridgefood  full.

Westminster Dog Show  confused2  sorry no Carole. never heard of it......Bond have you?

Oh you know I'm fedup of these people who keep going on about "Short skirts"  "Slits showing too much leg" and they've got rid of the grid girls in FI  and all this "The guy puts his hand on her back" at that club which make loads of money for the kiddies hospital and the girls are there to wait on the guys,  it's degrading for the girls we hear....are the girls complaining?  NO.... it's their job for gods sake, they earn good money Rob was saying the girls who used to be at the exhibition he goes to are gone....now they're out of a job as you say Bond,    BUT it's ok to teach young kids of 4 & 5 about sex, tell them they might be a different gender at 3 if the little girl is a tom boy or the little boy thinks dolls houses are interesting.   headbanger  headbanger  opps better get off this box.   soapbox   You know I never even noticed the grid girls. A decorator who used to work for us his wife was one of the girls who used to drape themselves over the posh cars, he never thought his wife was degrading herself he used to be proud of her.

We've heard nothing about our pensions yet Carole.

Ok off out.....£50 in my card this morning.....SO it's either a new perfume I've got my eye on or a bottle of perfume I'm running out of.  confused2

Good morning legs, well it's got to be a dozen each after that photo but after the nibble
Yesterday miss Vicky gets a bakers dozen
The sports girl Holly had on a very nice short skirt with a slit  on today that the camera crew were showing more full body shots of than the normal head and shoulders but we never saw her again as it was mostly the winter of games the sports girl Cat did it all from out there, I hope it wasn't some do good erm saying it was too short
On twitter last night and he MD from a paint brush manufacturer who brings some gorgeous ladies to the painting and decorating exhibition was says how it was doing these girls out of work!!!
More drinks then as a bit early for lunch here fridgefood

Morning Bond ,bet those roses set you back
a pretty penny ,do we get a dozen
EACH or are we having to SHARE confused2

Kind of a mixed bag here weather wise, going to be
a fairly good day later in the 40's ,but there is a
front coming through right now with light rain and ICE

Just a for me please too early for tomato's
they can set my tummy off

I do not know what was wrong with Buddy last night
was DIVE BOMBING the bed it seemed every other HOUR
Gil came into bed at 915pm instead of 10 as I was pooped
and Buddy started at 1230.....now I am up {got up at
415am } he has gone and curled up headbanger

Even Blaine mentioned about his Dad sitting out in the living
room with the odor as you could STILL smell it when he got
home at 730pm so he put the overhead fan on in the kitchen

Did you happen to catch the Westminster dog show last night ?
a young 18 yr old girl from Sherman CT won the Jnr competition
with her Springer Spaniel ,and best in show was a GORGEOUS
white PUFFY dog {can't spell the breed} how cute was he then ......

Anyway save me some of what ever we are filling up the fridgefood up with
Vicky

MORNING MARGE

I shall return {famous last words}

Good evening ,well good job I  started cooking the r/beef
at 5am as Keith did not leave until 4pm ,still has the wall under
the sink to do and then stain the cabinets
Said he will finish that tomorrow then start on the loo downstairs

Spencer is having a fit about this glue ,according to Keith it was not on
the shelf at Home Depot probably as it does not have a long "shelf life"
{the non pong sort}
I will have to have Gil stay in the bedroom when he does the stain

I am knackered rushing around to make dinner and get in the
shower as my hair needed washing today
Have an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow to see if she can tell me
WHAT immigration WANTS .....

OH got the notice about the UK SS increase today I am getting an extra £2.18p
a week ,Gil £4.69p a week

Sleep tight all speak tomorrow
Wendy's MIL gets cremated tomorrow Shocked

Well I would expect him to know the size of his wife Bond, the odd bit was knowing where she'd (the doctors wife) got it from and it still being in stock.  confused2 it did look better on the surgeon's wife.

130/80 or higher should be treated Carole, in America it used to be 140/90, but now you've come into the same guidelines as Britain according to your new guidelines announced in 2017  by the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.     I was taken in hospital with hypertension and was taken into the Stroke ward.....I happen to have been in the same ward Sylvia was in, the nurses there knew my face and  kept saying "We know you?" when I said one day my mate Sylvia Simpson had been in this same ward but with a stroke they then said "That's where we've seen you.....you used to visit her often, in fact you came to see her more than her husband"  now I used to ask Sylvia if Cliff had been in the night before and she used to say "Oh yes and he held me and told me how much he loved me"  he might have done on the evenings he came to see her but not as many times as she said he had. Mad  the nurses said they used to call him names.

Talking about numbers Carole the last time I went to see the Consultant about my Cholesterol  we had problems trying to find a parking place.....going round and round and in the end David said "You'd better get out" but just then a car came out of a parking spot so we nipped in and then quickly went into the hospital and more or less straight away I was called to see this Consultant.....the nurse glarded at me "Is your blood pressure always high" I told her it is when I at the hospital and asked her how high was it 220/110 she said I looked at her "Well I'm obviously not that am I" I told her ....the Consultant never said anything about it when I went in to see him.   confused2 Mad  I ask you.

Hi Margaret yes I'm the same "White coat nerves"

Same as Carole Bond just lemon & sugar.......

Bond, you had the right film ,it was the "Great Escape".

Our little bit of rain turned out to be a tiddle like heavy dew.
They did get more in other places and the mountains got
some more snow so ski season is safe for a while longer.

Normal Blood pressure is supposed to be 120/80 but in
reality it is not true with all of us. Its like 98.5 is
supposed to be our normal temperature but we can run
"hot" or "cold". As long as we fit within a certain band
width on either side of "normal" we are doing fine.
My blood pressure used to spike occasionally for
unknown reasons, I am talking about 175/ 95 !

Last time I was in the Drs. office it was 140/ 85 but
I put that down to "white coat nerves" after driving
on the main road to the freeway to get from my home
to her office. :driver:
Melanie has the blood pressure of a child its so low but it
has always been that way. Shocked
My meds sometimes make me a tiny bit light headed moving
about too quickly but sitting driving I have no problem at all.

Its sunny but a bit cool outside at the moment so a light jacket
is suggested or a cardigan.
Still getting warnings from the LA county board of Supervisors about
water use in this area as they are preparing for another drought year.
We still have a couple of months to go in what is usually our wet
season.
It seems as if one of the gardeners has managed to stop the leak
on the stand pipe as the ground is dry around it for once, only
time will tell if a rubber washer was all that was needed.
They had the hose on so tight I could not get it to budge even
with a pair of pliers!
Its like the access panel on the furnace, they put it back on with a
power screwdriver and I have a dickens of a job getting it off to
change the filter!
That is another item on my to-do list today. I already got the glass
shade down in Peters office and managed to put one bulb in so I can see
what I am doing. Its putting the round glass shade back up that is tricky
as it is one decorative nut that keeps it in place and it can take ages
to get it to go on correctly and not cross the threads.
I find that the square glass shades are easier in the other bedrooms
even though they also have a center nut to hold them in place.
These are original to the house so like to keep them if I can.
(very 50s)
Carole,it is going to take days for the smell to go away even with a
fan on and an outside door open. You have an invalid in your house
and have the right to insist that he use a non toxic product.
around a very sick man. In the mean time you both with be freezing
and breathing in fumes that are worse than packets of cigarettes being
smoked in one room with nowhere to go.
It seems like he has been given a budget and its being done on the cheap
as the non toxic does cost more.
Must away to my chores, I have to respond to my Termite company contract
renewal and pay the gardeners. I just heard the mail come through the door.

talktohand sorry Bond only lemon and sugar
for me please ......
Well nice therapist has left giving Gil an A mark
and me as well as she said it sounds like I have everything
under control regards his food ..and as long as he remembers
to swallow what he has in his mouth BEFORE putting in another
mouthful he will do OK
I told her he has choked a couple of times and how I had to give
him the Heimlich a couple of times ,she listened with her
stethoscope as he swallowed and said it sounded good
so she will not be returning ,his speech unfortunately will
get worse as this progresses but suggested to him that
he open his MOUTH more that may make him sound clearer
as when he gets mad and YELLS you can understand exactly
what he is saying confused2

I see Marge Vicky and you Bond logged in so I shall bow out
Keith is saying he will start Spencer's bathroom tomorrow

Well construction has come to a HALT
12noon ,said he needs some thing to put
on the back of the microwave so has gone
up the street to DIY store
Ahh ok he is back and so is the speech therapist

Be back

Vicky is this what you have

A normal systolic pressure is below 120.

A reading of 120-129 is elevated.

130-139 is stage 1 high blood pressure (also called hypertension).

140 or more is stage 2 hypertension.

180 or more is a hypertensive crisis. Call 911.

I have blood thinning tablets also Bond though not Warfarin, quite a lot of doctors these days try not to give Warfarin as you know.....not sure what I'm on, I'll have to have to look.    I know donkeys years ago my MIL was on Warfarin.      No my BP number wasn't pretty good Carole, I have a check list I brought from the hospital so I know it was JUST ok. I don't usually check the list because I know which numbers are fine but with yesterday being high David checked the list and it was just on the ok line today..

Yes move Gil we don't want Keith gluing Gil to a piece of furniture.  Smile

Just reporting ,Nurses {2} very nice both
arrived at 10am and his "nibs" called at 1030am
saying he was on his way only had gone back
home for a fan as it seems the glue he almost KILLED
us with yesterday and what he went to get the kind that
does NOT PONG he could not get so needed a fan to vent
once he puts the other pieces up
Right now he has dropped the Microwave and is reinforcing it
so has informed me I shall be with out it for about 90mins
Bad day for venting and having to OPEN the back screen door
as sunny or not its STILL only 30f ,there goes my heat >>>>

Ahh I see about the Warfarin Bond ,Gil had the same problem
when they had him on a 80mg baby aspirin a day for the blockages
he had in his legs ,had to be VERY careful getting cuts and of course
when having any operation had to knock it off at LEAST a week before
time

Glad your feeling better then Vicky as your number today was actually
pretty good

Well cannot hear a BLUDDY THING as Keith is doing something
with a power tool may have to move Gil into the bedroom when he starts
gluing

Back later

You can have a nibble Bond but don't eat it all.  Smile     We were in Woodlands the other day when that was taken.

talktohand  Oh I know the bottom number is the number to watch out for Carole. it was just I felt as though my BP had dropped, I just didn't feel very good all of a sudden, but on having it taken it had gone up.....anyway David told me to go and lie down and I fell asleep, didn't wake up until David came up with my BP tablet I take at 10, I still didn't feel too good and fell back to sleep until 11:00  when I took my neuralgia tablets.   confused2  had a good nights sleep until this morning at 8:00 when it was time for me to take my morning neuralgia tablets.     So I shouldn't be  tired  tonight.    Smile

Well I hope Keith turns up before he says it's time to knock off for the day.    Workman he is not.....if he was at a private house they'd pull their hair out and certainly put the word out he's not too clever and not to touch him with a barge pole.     Mad  talktohand   I know you just have to go along with it but it's not good and with Gil the way he is.

Well we for ONE will NOT be having
pancakes today {love them with just
sugar and lemon } lucky I have made something
I can whip up fast AFTER he LEAVES that is
AFTER HE ARRIVES ....guess his idea of EARLY
and mine are not the same headbanger
it is now 945am and no sign of him
but space IS filling up with NURSES as the visiting nurse
just  telephone asking if SHE could come today to see Gil
so she will be here at 10am  confused2  and WHY NOT
my house is upside down enough so might as well add to
the confusion

I even ran to the Cable store to pay the bill ,left a note
on the back door IN CASE Keith arrived ,but could have
saved myself the bother

Bond hope your fingers are not frost bitten  nono

Vicky we were talking about BP the other day at Gil's Dr's
office as I had to stop in to get another DNR band as if he
does not want to be worked on should  any thing happen
it HAS to be on his body ,anyway they said when I mentioned
Gil's BP had been 168/76 when one of the nurses were here
then it dropped to 158/76 as she took it again before she left
and I took it the next morning and it was 148/73 they told me unless
the top number was in the 190's they were not concerned and that the
bottom number was what told you what the ♥️ was doing
The top one registered your emotions so was probably up
as we have so much "company" and "questions" of late

Anyway hope your feeling OK now

I also HATE the taste of Whiskey Lester used to drink that...tasted like IODINE
to me Mad Mad
I shall return  run  run

You know what they say Bond
Red skies in morning shepherds/sailors warning
We are at 12f right now with the wind chill
26f proper temp ,don't you HATE it when people
are right
Going to be dry though so that is one good thing

Saw a picture of our David on FB yesterday taken
in Columbia at the wedding he was attending of
one of his friends ,he must have flown from Switzerland
straight there
According to his text to me he will be back here in CT
the 15th and will pop in to say hello

Spencer called as he and Carmen are BOTH sick ,Spencer
had an appointment with his new Dr yesterday so got
medication for them both as the Dr said he has Bronchitis
and gave him Amoxicillin.....he did not want to come up stairs
when he stopped by on his way back for clean clothes
for fear of bringing the germs back to his Dad
He also asked the DR about his arms and legs as they tend
to go to sleep when he lays on them at night ,the Dr wants
to have Ex rays taken as he thinks he has brusitous ?? spelling

Anyway my one night of straight through sleep did not last long
up every two hours last night tired headbanger

Hope you slept better Marge

Have the Speech therapist coming today at 1230....
and Keith said he would be here EARLY
to try and finish the back splash ,but he also has to drop my
Microwave again in order to tighten up the two cabinets it hangs
between over the stove headbanger
Yesterday he also tried a small section of a cabinet with the stain
he picked up that he intends to use ,I can only imagine how THAT
will go as its STILL tacky THIS MORNING and he only put one coat
saying he wanted to do TWO Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
God give me strength

Back later I guess
MORNING LADIES

Oh Bond you did not say but is my avatar the trails you were talking
about on the Nuneaton page ?
