First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

Morning Bond ,that man who sculptured
the horse is very artistic
What a great thing to be able to get around
the way you do on the buses like that, and to
be able to WALK around the stores to boot
One of my old Purcell RD neighbors said last night
on FB that it was STILL snowing in Coventry as
I had posted with Blaine's baby picture that it snowed
the week he was born and how it was snowing here yesterday

Wonder if Marge will be today now the sewer line
is done and she is hopefully getting BR back after passing
his emissions /fog test

So many people here still with out power after the last storm
as it was such heavy wet snow the two power companies that
serve CT are working around the clock trying to restore the lights
especially in towns in the rural areas like Cheshire where we used to live
when we first came to the USA

Well Fran called me I could have had my hair done today BUT the
lady from Hospice who canceled yesterday as she could not get out
her house is coming at 1030 ,so have to look like this till NEXT
Wednesday headbanger
The weatherman is saying the storm Monday looks like it will stay
off shore so should not be as big a deal as they thought ,I think
the two storms we have had with people losing power are enough
so THANK GOODNESS

OK so Bond is bus riding ,whats Vicky doing as we know she will
be MIA after Susan arrives for the day Saturday confused2

Vicky you going to check that hat store out in Ashby ???
You would not BELIEVE what happened to Carmen's car after it getting
its 2nd clutch ,she came home Spencer went to start it and NOTHING
the STARTER has now gone, she has warranty on it but the dealer
had it TOWED and she has FREE TOWING on her insurance so she has to pay
$90 for that and something else Spencer said is lots of $$$ that she does not have
she is READY TO BURN THE 4x4 Spencer said ,,,,
She has a newer Ford Focus Shocked
Back later

Thanks Bond ,I thought it was cute funnytvprog
The snow we have had is melting making BIG PUDDLES
every where before it freezes up later ....at the bottom
of the big hill we have to come up to Lakeview ,a HUGE
branch went down under the weight of the snow last night
and you have to make a wide turn in order to get onto the
street that runs along the bottom ,hope they come remove THAT PDQ

Guess Vicky is all nicely quaffed by now ....
Another lady was supposed to visit Gil from Hospice
today but called saying her street had not been cleaned yet
so she could not get out {she lives in Stratford ,remember what
THAT used to feel like} so said she will be here tomorrow

Temps on the cool side for this time of the year only in the
low 40's .should not be too bad over the weekend and for
the St Patrick's  day annual  "Parade" that is ready to step off
Sunday

I see Megan and Harry were in Brum for International Women's day
we Brits seem to have really taken her to heart @

Ok been to get some gas in my chariot ,and picked up some more
AAA & AA batteries for my motion detector lights I have around the house
will be back later ,oh and that was a find then Bond Mrs B 's Fasinator

Very good Carole, like it that gets you a large L&L.
Just back from Ashby, I know we are always banging on about how good the shops are but today we found two more a shop in the market hall selling fantastic ladies dresses at silly prices, mrsb bought a I would call a vest dress nice style and cut for £18 Sara said she would of expect to pay £30 to £40 and more In main street shop, then down one if the alley ways that open into a court yard a hat a fasinator shop all the colours of the rainbow, mrsb had taken one of my Dulux trad card
With the colours of her dress on it, they Had the right colour match but Mrs b wanted a small silver feathers in it to match the silver threads in her dress so they are doing that in the week
On our way back we called in at Orton so she could see the fallen tree a D the horsw
Fagot and mushy peas batches from the butchers in Ashby next to the shop mmmMmmm

From my mate in OZ

A lone sniper was just about to assassinate Donald Trump.

Just at the last moment, one of the President's bodyguards spotted him.

He immediately shouted "Mickey  Mouse!    Mickey Mouse!"

A shot rang out and Trump fell dead.
As his aides gathered round the body, one of them asked
the bodyguard why he had shouted "Mickey Mouse"

'I'm sorry" he said "I meant to shout

       "Donald, duck!"

talktohand  OK OK Vicky
but over here they ask if you get a pension
as that is taxable and considered INCOME
and the only one WE get or should I say Gil
gets is the $168 from Hubble
And yes I get my UK money based on the short time
I worked back there but mainly because of Gil's from the UK
So your Social Security one is I guess a
"PENSION" but not confused2  does THAT make
sense
Anyway its all over this morning AGAIN lots of power
outages {we were lucky not one of them}
LOTS of trees DOWN on power lines and FALLEN
through house ROOFS one 30 yr old hit on the head
from one crashing through his home was not alert
when EMS was responding

Blaine my birthday boy {55 today}  just left after digging a path to the car
and then cleaning his and my car off as we both parked in the
driveway so we would not have to shovel out this morning
such a large expanse...

Had THUNDER SNOW as well around 715pm

Anyway I WISH I could come over for my hair Vicky
will be wearing a HAT when I go out till its DONE affraid

Marge posted a picture after they completed the job
on FB they did a GOOD job will post a picture of her "tunnel"
later all caused from her palm tree that's on her property
so she has to foot the bill but also a tree at the curb that is
City owned but she said try telling the City THAT
Never a good idea planting trees close to your home headbanger
as they search out water where EVER their roots can find it ....

ANOTHER storm possible MONDAY they are saying confused2

Be back later .not sure who will be coming here today run run

So when you got your letter telling you our state pensions had gone up yours said.....confused2 what?    btw we've still not heard about ours.       The pension Gil gets from his work is a Private Pension different from a State Pension......oh btw you always said when our pound dropped your pension would be lower.    We all talked about our pensions, you, me & Margaret.....Margaret & I (well David & Peter paid it) paid £1400 to get the pension we were getting, less than a basic pension where as you got yours through Gil. you said..phoned Newcastle up and spoke to them and they told you you could get your pension through Gil.

I'm sure you don't look anything like a shaggy skunk silly.   Mad    I'm going to my hairdressers tomorrow come with me.....I'm sure they'll fit you in.

Oh well it's time for bed.....If Benjie wakes up and I'm still down here (he's fast asleep in his basket at the moment)  he'll start to glare at me muttering (honest you should hear him)  because I've not gone to bed.   confused2  comes to something when the dog tells you to go to bed.

Tomorrow then guys......hopefully Margaret will be back.

Snow coming down fast now Blaine
was allowed home at 2pm so at least
I know he is home safe ,Spencer is at Carmen's
as her car was recalled ,they should have picked
it up today as they had to replace for the 2nd time
the clutch in the Transmission {its automatic}
but the mechanic never showed today after taking
it apart yesterday after they dropped it off ,so he will
have to stay at Carmen's in order to take her back TOMORROW
assuming the guy gets in there ...

Vicky you just reminded me what I meant to say the other
day when you said we also get our "pensions" from the UK
and USA ,its not pensions we get but Social Security that we both
paid into and worked for ,Gil of course getting his biggest amount
from the UK having worked all those years ,he gets no "pension"
from Bretts stamping ,and I get my largest amount from the USA
having worked here since 1970 ,but also get no "pension" from
U.S.Baird corp for the 28 yrs I worked there something a lot
of people were shocked by ,we got the short end of the stick
when we , Ruth Linda Blaine and I got laid off in 2002 with a total
of 103 yrs service between us
Gil is the only one who gets a "pension" from Hubble where he
worked 10 yrs after coming back here in 1996 SS is not taxable

OK this "Shaggy Skunk" is going for her shower
Speak tomorrow

Oh dear Carole sorry Fran cancelled.....as Bond said do take care.

Oh no more money having to be forked out by Margaret and then they'll be the car of course and that won't be cheap. Mad

Yes Bond we've had some sleet and they're saying snow during the night.   The birds are nesting as well.

TWO YEARS Bond affraid  wow where did that year go?    YOU keep wrapped up also Bond.

Thought I would check FB not having heard
from Marge.OH MY what a to do in her garden
I asked if the pictures were of her property
and this is what she answered me
about her sewer line from the house

It was! I was just going to have it cleaned out but
once the camera went in there and could see the
infiltration of the roots
It meant that there were cracks and joints where they could
come through again.
In an earthquake it would have given way altogether.
Biting the bullet and having it done now so another thing
off my mind.
BTW got a call from Gassers yesterday so BR is moving along
also.

Good luck Bond and again break a leg

Gil just asked to have the oxygen ,so now he is easychair
in his chair

Be back later

Hello you two ....Well Fran cancelled me out
said her Subaru was having problems and
she had gotten stuck last night in it ,so besides
everyone canceling she was a bit scared to venture
out ,so a SHAGGY SKUNK I will be looking like until
she lets me know WHEN she can squeeze me in either
on another Wednesday or Friday as I can only go when
Barb is here as Monday's she is closed

So while Barb got Gil bed bathed and dressed and up
I ran to the store ,the snow is REALLY not bad right now
so had she opened up I could have been done and home
but when I got home it was starting to change so I called
Barb's agency and told them I was sending her home early
{I actually ran her home}
Good job as it is starting to come down good now more so
now the temps are dropping could see 1 to 2" an hour fall

Tracie just called us she is not today and I know
up here a LOT of flights have been cancelled causing a ripple
affect all over the country ,but as she said pretty soon she
will be off a month while she interns this new job she is studying
for "Medical assistant" I believe she is going for , so she will be
"payless" confused2

Now our local TV channel is saying Bridgeport could get
between 12-20" of snow Rolling Eyes

Tracie said she will also try to get up here in April and David
also said he will try to come up as Blaine was painting a picture
of his Dad to her that he was going down hill FAST and did not
think he would last another couple of months Shocked

I know he is getting WORSE but not THAT fast so nor sure
what our son is seeing Rolling Eyes
Wonder how Marge made out confused2

Back later

Glad you're liking your Bond. Been reading mine, might have finished it tonight.
Lee Child brother, Andrew Grant who's also a crime thriller author is married to Tasha Alexander who writes books I read.....not long finished one of hers "Lady Emily is married to a Detective and helps him solve crimes" they're really good....sort of thing Margaret would read also.

No Bond I did my finger fiddling with the front of my bra not my fastener, though gosh was it a year? Must be though Sylvia was fine then.....she's been gone 7 months, still can't believe it.

Off to the kitchen...... run run run doing beefburgers, onions & might be oven chips could be mashed potato.

Morning Bond ,its WHITE out there ,round #1 but
stopped for now but the worst is yet to come
later this afternoon so people may GET to work OK
but its the getting HOME that may be hard when round
number 2 starts after 11am they are now saying

Fran called me yesterday wondering if I could
come over her salon  then, but I could not as Gil
was expecting the X Ray guy to arrive and I could not leave
him alone 3 hrs so she said depending on whether the Aids
SHE have who come into her Mom get there she would open the
salon and call me before I leave here around 9am

The X Ray guy was  an HOUR late as it was ,then just as I had
showered and gone in to lay down I got a phone call at 7pm
from the company who are supplying the oxygen equipment
saying he was sorry for being late but he would be here in 10mns

Anyway after he arrived and explained what settings it should be on
etc it was 730pm also left a portable tank should we lose power
had to store that in the spare bedroom as it needs to be away from
any heat source  so its on the opposite wall from where the
heating vents are ....its only good for 4 1/2 hrs so he said once we crack
the key open to use it we have to call them to bring a replacement

So I await Frans call Barb SHOULD be able to get here this morning
as its basically right now only on the cars that have been outside
all night and the lawns etc the roads and sidewalk/pavements are all clear
and wet

Hope Marge got her plumber sorted to do the work needed and her PC
is back up ,she said she did have her IPad  so as long as she had WIFI
access she could talk to me but never heard so guess she was a busy girl

Have fun Bond ,and watch how you go
Funny I never got my normal email notice that someone had posted today
wonder WHY
Vicky I remember your affraid
chattable MOVE OVER please
OK so its MORNING LADIES I shall return

Hi all sorry Ellie, I think it was those fantastic nails the through me
Yes I think that too about old places no name dropping but when I was in Venice I went down a very narrow old walk way only just room for two people to pass, I could picture a very colour full man with a floppy hat and sword coming around the corner.
Tea?

Yes I always think that about something old  "If it could talk"   I used to think that when ever I walked by the old town wall in Coventry, all the people who have stood by this gossiping, talking about what's going on  .....or when you go to historic houses.....we've got some really old silver when we clean it I often think "If this could only talk"

Great wood/art work though

That little fella is a Lass Bond Ellie.....don't think we ever gave her nuts Bonds.  confused2  not sure now, don't think we did.

Good evening all, well the sad thing was to see the old tree down a big old tree that had seen 200 years of history, if only it could talk
But the great thing was the house that the daughter of the house her boyfriend made a horse almost full size well full size for a small horse its beautiful, I did see one or two in the Eden Project.
Does the little chap like nuts?

It looked ready to have fallen down though.

We used to have sweet peas in our garden Bond yes Carole lovely flowers.

We still don't have the rabies shot, unless of course you're going to take your dog overseas.  Though the day will come because of dogs being brought into the country without proper vaccination, false papers.      We have to go to the Vet's every 6 months Carole for his tables and he'll have a check up and then vaccination every year.....as they say "Never a poor Vet or dentist"

Hope you manage to get in Margaret.

Just been watching this programme about Churchill's 3 year affair with Lady Doris Castlerosse.......attractive woman though, though she climbed the social ladder  from chamber maid to the mistress of so many rich men.     Churchill once said about her "She'd make a corpse come"

No Bond that's not Benjie.......ahhhhh so cute, get off that chair Carole.

Hi Carole, its a bit of work at Owen Street centre some final finishing ready for a dress rehearsal at night
We got some lovely slices of wood but it was sad as the tree was 200years old and possibly more, it was rotten in the middle, either wasp and bees Nests plus birds Nests and a duck brought up duclings in it
When it was the vicarage and they had summer fates there one of the side shows was guess the distance around the truck
So sad to see it go

My Nan grew them along the back fence on Purcell Rd
right behind her runner beans
Never had much luck with them over here but would like
to try again as they are GORGEOUS

SO who you jobbing for tomorrow that we had to
ups a daisy today hoover duster

HOLY COW Vicky 168 pounds guess its not gotten any cheaper
since we had Saba ,his shots used to cost me just over $100
every time we went ,was glad the Rabies shot after the first one
became once every three years instead of yearly ,but should
you MISS the due date you had to start all over AGAIN headbanger
And YES they are WORTH IT ♥️

Just cooked pork chops in the Air Fryer doing Mac N Cheese and my
Zucchini dish for later
The Ex ray guy should be here at 130pm

Morning all .....
What a day yesterday they eventually turned
UP just before Barb left at 1pm well the Liaison
then the RN came just before 230pm
Lots of paper work as normal had to show I
have Power of Attny so I could sign for Gil
and once more he was in SUCH A MOOD yesterday
after Barb gets him up etc he will be doing his cards
and so we chat {QUIETLY } to each other and he was
saying why don't you  two SHUT UP ,I have said it more
than once that we cannot sit LOOKING AT EACH OTHER
for THREE HOURS Shocked
Even when the nurse was asking if we got a pension and I said
Gil only gets a WHOPPING $168 from his job,he again told me to
SHUT UP Rolling Eyes

Anyway she has ordered the oxygen although his number when
she took it when she first arrived was the HIGHEST its been in DAYS
93 its been in the 80's which is why the DR ordered Oxygen confused2
Seems any equipment he needs such as a wheel chair or commode
etc will be supplied all paid for by Medicare ,plus the disposable undies
I have been using any cream I use as Gil has a problem in his groin
will ALSO be supplied
Could also have a hospital bed if we wanted ,but right now he is
in our queen size bed with me

Anyway Mary the nurse did not leave until after 3pm,not sure if SHE
will be his nurse until today but she was nice enough
Guess they go in 90day time frames where he gets assessed as to his
condition ,well we KNOW Gil is NOT going to be getting better so not sure
how long this will be on going
Unless its something none related to the Corticobasil he will remain at
home and not be taken to the hospital when something happens
The ex ray tech also called saying he will be out at 130pm today to take a picture
of Gil's chest as the DR wants to make SURE he does not have Pneumonia
causing his shallow breathing ,they think it could be C.O.P.D.  due to all the years
he as well even though they say his lungs SOUND clear as its been 3 yrs
since he quit cold turkey ....he did not start smoking till he was in his early 30's
after we divorced silly sod said that was MY FAULT but then smoked all those
until he was basically in his early 70's ....dirty habit  Mad  headbanger
Big time snow coming tomorrow 12 to 16ins starting off light but will
get heavier starting at 4pm they are saying ,I HOPE SO so I can get to Fran;s
and Barb will get here as I can always 4x4  her home

Sorry for the book
Glad all went well Bond and Vicky great picture of Matt
Oh and we call it WD40 here also Bond

Back later

ELASTICATED WHAT Bond made your hands so cold
BTW meant to ask are they eating PEAS your growing as
thought you said they were Sweet peas {flowers}

MORNING MARGE

Topsy- turvy weather here, now its going to warm up for a
few days!
Its 65f at the moment, going to 68f for the high and an
overnight low of 47f. tonight. Its 29% humidity outside
with bright sunny so make sure you have your
sunglasses with you.

I see Gary Oldman got the best actor award for
Darkest Hour which he richly deserved.
Didn't watch Oscars at all but caught the news
before I went to bed.
Did my shopper instead as the cats were
running out of canned cat food again!
Just a few items for the fridgefood and I think I am
set for a couple more days.

Hall ceiling light bulb went out last night and could not
get the dome shade off to replace it. Its one of those
with a middle finial again , I think the washer between
the glass shade and the finial is too tight and its just jammed
on there so its out with the trusty thin head screwdriver to ease
it off this morning. Also need the big step ladder as the kitchen
step stool is not high enough to get a good purchase for this
job.
Actually got out one of my sweatshirts yesterday as it felt cold
enough, this one was my Hogwarts School of magic one.
Think its going to be too warm for it today though.

Got a couple of loads for the washingmachine.
and some fuzzy faced cat did a number two last night
that nearly stunk the house out so its scoop, scoop, scoop
this morning. Add a little baking soda and top up with fresh
litter and away we go again.

Peter used to suffer with a problem like that Bond and he was not on
any blood thinner. In his case it was a condition he had
had since he was a teenager, think it was because he was tall
and very skinny with no fat on him at all.
I put it down to his diet which was mainly school dinner type
meals at the YMCA and in the works cafeteria where we worked.
He got almost no fresh fruit and he would not eat salad of any kind
and the cooked veggies were so over cooked, no vitamins at all !
That's why he passed out every time he cut himself!

He had a very low blood pressure and heart beat which I found
out later missed a beat every now and then and he would pause
breathing for what seemed like a very long time and then
take a big breath in and resume regular breathing .
We did not know about sleep apnea in those days.
It was not because of a weight problem or sinus problem,
he did not want me to make a fuss and played it down.
It seems with a better diet it became less of a problem.
I t sure scared me at the time.

I too liked to eat raw peas Vicky, more ended up in my mouth
than in the colander!
Time to clock in here and start work ladies and gent. TTFN
They were so sweet. I like Chinese peapods to eat also.
