First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

Oh good about the tv Carole.

As to face lifts etc I think the same as you.....actresses in soup operas do it and they look like a different person  confused2   and often they're only in their 30's  Mad  stupid and they're on a slippy slide in a couple years they'll have another one and then another one nono

That wasn't right to put those things on top of Spencers tool box, I can understand why he's mad at Keith, you don't do things like that.

Ah yes Carole that's better for Gil.

Yes as Bond said I did the TV that is why
I am KNACKERED ....its up about 4" so he is not
looking DOWN at it as the other table was lower

Cannot understand  why anyone would want to cut themselves
up in order to delay the inevitable "old age"
As Pop Eye was used to say..♪ I am what I am ♪

Doing a couple of frozen fish filet with two slices of B & B
for dinner for Gil and I
Spencer was here and left again but fixed with a screw
the under cabinet lights ....
He is PISSED at Keith as he dumped the old sink and some
thing that he must have had in the back of his truck ALL ON TOP
of Spencer's TOOL BOX in the garage ....
I am sure when he leaves he will take these things with him
but my son is livid WHY DID HE PILE THEM ON MY TOOL BOX Rolling Eyes

He is very "testy" these days ,said he is thinking of going to see what
training programs they have down unemployment as every day he looks on line
and there is NOTHING Mad

OK I hear the fish  calling so be good

They seem to get to a certain age.....late 40's and they think affraid  "I'm getting old I better do something"  when they don't need to.   headbanger  and then when you next see them it's "Who's that....it looks like but it doesn't"   confused2 "Somethings changed"

Have you sorted out the TV which Gil watches and they were saying it's too low, so wasn't helping his neck Carole?

Just turned the TV over Bond and caught the last bit of Kylie.....has she had a face lift or something?   There's something different.

You'll not stop looking at your kitchen now Carole.   cheers

There is also a Peter Rabbit series of coins that
were issued a little while ago.

I am still astounded that my FIL went from
Tigermoths to Meteor jets in his flying career .
He was so proud of his membership in the RAF.
He was the son of a grocer and became a car
mechanic. One of his jobs was maintaining a
sports car for an officer in the RAF which
first got him interested in planes.

There is always some excitement here and
yesterday was no exception.
I was doing my shopper and was loading
my car when I heard a police car flying down our
street called Calle Mayor( main street but its not)
and out on to Pacific Coast Highway which is
the main coastal road the length of the state.

As I drove up to get on the road to go home I could
see he had stopped not many yards away and I could
see some smoke. I assumed it was a car crashed into
the fence surrounding the student parking lot at the
High School. I was going the other way so drove into
my neighborhood seeing that the street light were out.
Then I could see that the house lights were out on
the other side of the street from my house.
Lorna came out and asked me why my lights were
still on (Hoping I guess that it was just her house).

A little later my electricity went out also, along with
the whole local area. It was out for over an hour.
I used the three little lamps I have that look like
the old oil work lamps we used to have at road works.
They are battery powered and have LED bulbs in them
so quite bright.
I managed to put out a message on my City app on my
iPad before I lost the WiFi connection.
Later, the police posted that there was a hot wire down
that had started a small bush fire and that the road
was closed in both directions and they were waiting for
Edison (electric company) to arrive and fix it.
It was only a week ago they were working on the transformer
on the school grounds on top one of their poles!

The cats were a bit freaked out but settled down when the lights
came back on. Its never dull here!
Anyway no problems in my house, only had to reset the Microwave
clock. ooh, forgot the clock radio in the bedroom but that will only take
couple of minutes to do.
The sunny is out again this morning but its only 44F at the moment
its going to a high of 60f today and an overnight low of 44f again.
Humidity stands at 49% right now but it is at 25% inside the house.
I have the thermostat set at 72F for the heating in here. which
dries out the air.
As it gets warmer I turn it down further.

Carole, the end is in sight at last (for your kitchen) Hopefully by
next week end it will all be behind you.
I can see the High School playing fields from my window in here and
the ground staff are preparing the Baseball diamonds for practice
all ready.
It looks so green but they are using non potable water I know.
The big sprinklers are only used at night so not a lot of evaporation.
It seems there has been snow where Melanie lives and the freeze
has caused a lot of black ice on the twisty roads up an down the
hills, at that low elevation the snow melts quickly but Caltrans
have had to spray the roads up there with a mix of grit and salt
for the big trucks that use highway 108.
I think the steep passes like Tioga and 108 are now closed for the
winter months.
There is another pass north of where Melanie lives named for the
Donner Party who arrived by wagons too late in the year to complete
their journey over the Sierras so got snowed in and had to resort to
eating the flesh of the dead to survive. ( you have finished eating
I presume). Its history for goodness sake! :-D
I am off to complete some more little chores and start my new filing
system. TTFN

Hi Bond I am back from the shopper
and I am telling you although the temps only
saying its 47f {feels like 44f} with the blue skies
and BRILLIANT sunny  it FEELS warmer and SOOO
GOOD on the skin ,so much so that I just opened one
of the bay windows ,Tabby and Buddy are BOTH sitting
near it taking in the fresh air AHHHHHHHH

That will be something to save then that 5pound coin
Mum used to send me any new ones that came out when she was
alive always nice to have a memento

Well first Gil wanted to get up BEFORE I left ,then changed
his mind ,so gave him his pills and left him in bed with Blaine
also Sleep  but within ear shot should he need him ...got home
put the groceries away and went to get Gil up and he is saying
NO ...so I am not fighting him talktohand
I want to sort through my cabinets to get these last two containers
of things packed away but may wait until Barbara gets here Monday
otherwise she will after getting Gil up and ready have nothing to do confused2

Have to text her today to see if Monday is on or not ....

OK guess Vicky went out after Laura went home with Rob
did he and Dawn find any suitable houses yet Vicky ?

So when I am all sorted I will send pictures ....

Morning folks
Well Keith left around 7pm BUT will be
returning Monday as the compound he used
on the walls was not dry when he went to fasten
the vanity to the wall
So its had a third coat of paint the toilet does
not make you think your on the "high seas" when
you sit on it  he painted the inside of the glass medicine
cabinet with the big glass door and made some wooden
shelves for it as the glass ones were gone ,and he has to hang
the wooden accessories for the toilet roll and one that is
a ring for a hand towel to hang on etc
So THAT is 99% done
Up here before he left he put up my under cabinet motion sensor
lights and replaced the light over the sink wit a LTD light after
I washed the cover and glass {he was going to do it}
Trouble is the lights did not STAY attached as they are held in place
with a magnetic strip that has an adhesive strip on the back ...THAT
did not stay on the underside of my cabinet,so Spencer said he will drill
a hole in the strip ,they work GREAT coming on when ever you go near
and you can recharge the battery by plugging into the PC outlet

So we are I guess 99% done as well all I have to do is redo my cabinets
now as I have two containers on the floor still with items that need
to be out away then I am DONE cheers

Such a SPREAD last night gave me a belly ache I ate SO much

Nice day this morning but tomorrow going to be a BEAR with cold
temps and March will be coming in like a LION even though the temps
will be in the low 50's some days so they are watching it eye eye

I shall be back have to finish what I did not finish yesterday with
my shopper  while Blaine is home with his Dad

Back later

BTW Bond I think Vicky's dress might be calf length  confused2

MORNING ALL  run run

soapbox I VOTE FOR MARGE AS PRESIDENT
cheers
Glad you found out {if its true} what Vince needs more £
for Marge ....
Well so far Keith has not yelled up that he is pulling the plug
everything he does seems to take 4 times LONGER than it should
as all I thought he had to do down there was paint over where he
did something with nails in the sheet rock ,then put some back splash
behind the new vanity and toilet and that was IT
I can SMELL the glue he uses to stick the back splash up with so guess
he has gotten THAT far ....its now 3pm and he has been down there 5 HOURS

Anyway enough of that PASS the shrimp and I will take a few sausage rolls
and a few of those mini sarnies ,oh and is that shrimp spread or beef
on the crackers oh and LAY THE sharp Cheddar on me

Bond you making extra L & L's
Not sure what I am doing for Gil for dinner yet as I brought him home
a McChicken when I was out before ,plus I made him an egg sarnie for
breakfast .....

PHEW can SMELL the PONG now even Gil just mentioned it
that stuff could KILL YA

Don't forget this is a litigious country.
I don't think the state or county or
city could afford the premiums needed
to cover them selves in the event that
a teacher was to shoot a child accidently.
There is insurance to cover everything
here but you pay high premiums for it.
For a already struggling school district its
out of the question!

Most Police forces want people with military
experience AND a degree in law enforcement
knower days.
This sheriffs deputy may not have had the proper
training and "bottled out".
No one knows how you are going to react to these
situations.

A few years ago we had a mass shooting at a health center
in an outlying county called San Bernardino . That was a
terrorist attack. One off duty police officer who was listening
to his police radio heard the 911 calls coming in and
drove straight to the center. he was the first officer to arrive
moments before the rest of the squad cars arrived.
And did not hesitate to enter the building alone.
He directed the whole operation as he went room to room with
his body mike.
He had been a Marine before he was a cop and they have a
code of conduct like no other.
As it happened the shooters had already left.

Each school district has its own police force but usually are not
armed on a campus, These are mainly retired police officers.
The "No gun zone" for schools started here in LA because of
the gangs in certain areas and its worked pretty good here
but its not perfect, nothing is.

All our state Police departments, City police, Sheriffs department.
California Highway patrol and such have strict entry requirements.
It may not be the same for other states.
I think our Torrance police were among the first to require a higher
standard from its officers so we have a pretty low crime rate for
a city of its size.

During the riots after the Rodney king trial. our city was sealed off
from looting and burning with barricades on all the major roads
into our city. No one came in unless they could prove they lived here.

The sheriffs officer in Florida got caught by security cameras around
the school just doing nothing.
Cannot blame him too much as I know the ones that went into the
building will be dealing with PTSD for a long time after what they saw.

Columbine, and Sandy hook were all situated in semi rural communities
as was this one, so its not an inner city problem as such.

Our President has made it clear he will take guns over children's lives.

We had another plot broken up in a community close by because someone
listened and acted fast. This high school student had enough arms and
ammunition to kill a whole school. This will continue as it is now seen
by unstable people as a way to solve their problems and get their
minute of fame.
As I said somewhere, the NRA says its the price of freedom we must pay.
Innocent children getting killed is too big a price to pay.
Its not their children getting killed!
Here endeth the soapbox

Going to have a chat with Ian on Sunday as he is out somewhere doing an
early start for some project or other. Found out what Vince is in need of money
for (if he can be believed). Because of his paranoia he ends up starting
trouble where ever they put him so he has changed places quite a few times.
The place he is at now was an emergency placement so very small and he
feels hemmed in. So he is working with the Community Officer to find him
something a bit better. He has no transportation so needs to be able to pay
someone to help him move. Also he may need a few more bits of furniture
than he does at present.
I keep reminding him that I cannot pay anymore money per year than he
is getting now so there will be no other "double dipping" allowed.
If he buys a 60" TV. its his choice but he will be getting only one payment
a year from me now on.
( all mention of his mother's Jewelry has stopped now)

I had quite a crowd at the meeting last night, seven people showed up!
2 ladies of which one had brought the other and a young lady who is
hoping to go into the field of drug and alcohol treatment who came
with a boyfriend. there was also a lady who showed up later but she
is a 12 stepper from another group and there was our freshman along
with us two veterans of our group.
I must have sent magic waves through the air or my higher power is
telling me not to quit yet!

Bond, they are doing that here, building more and more shopping
plazas or small blocks of flats which take away half the parking we had
and our local main roads are congested as it is without extra traffic.
I resort to short cuts or detours when I can. and shop when other
people are not.
We are trying to get less of the mini mansions being built around here
on what was small family home lots.
There are a row of houses on this side of the street that would be ripe
for big houses with a view. I hope I am not here when it comes to that.

Must away, places to go and things to do. TTFN

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
WOW what a SPREAD ......
Well  after Gil's therapist left I ran to the shopper  as needed
cat food among other things ...as I was pulling in front of the house
Keith pulled up behind me and is working on down stairs as we speak
Says he is pleased  with how the cabinets turned out and that they may
not NEED the clear varnish cheers

The Therapist said she thinks its Gil's posture that is cramping his
lungs making him breath shallow ,so did a lot of exercises laying on his bed
to try and change that,I noticed Gil walks hunched over so that I at 5'2"I
feel TALLER than he is and he was always taller than me even when I was
5'4 1/2 Gil was 5' 7 3/4"
She also suggested we try to raise the flat screen TV up a little as
Gil is looking DOWN on it where it sits on the low table which does not
help his neck which always hurts any way as the DR said when Gil had
back surgery that his neck was a MESS

Yes Trump is a TOTAL IDIOT I cannot STAND LISTENING to him talk
Maybe I will start a thing on FB about using ex ,military they are
arming the police in Florida with AK rifles I see ....

OK better get this posted as Keith said he may have to shut power off
for a few minutes while he installs a new ground outlet near the new vanity

Be back ....DON"T EAT EVERY THING NOW

Oh do we have fresh shrimp with sauce

Will do that Vicky √

Carole if you google "A History of the Chase Hotel, Higham Lane, Nuneaton"   you'll see the building, as it still looks, and the history.

Knox Cres is next to me.....named after the family.

Various different sarnies, cheese straws, cheese & pineapple on sticks (I know it's naff but I think they go down well)   different flavoured crisps, meat spread on crackers, cheese on crackers,  breaded straws,  mini sausage rolls, run run run run   I'll go and carry the next lot  run run run     Yes I carried all that lot in  run run run   been to the small Palmers   I had a portion of chips  and a slice of walnut cake.  run run run  Oh went to the hairdressers this morning, I love it.....curls  run run run

I agree with Mrs B Bond put the retired soldiers (two or three) guarding the schools and shoot those who are threatening to kill the young kids/teachers or who ever.  DO NOT give teachers guns though, can you imagine a teacher with a gun.....what if the teacher has a nervous breakdown  confused2  a nightmare....no as mrs B says a retired soldier/soldiers.    Of course Trump won't think of that.

The Chase isn't far from me Carole, opposite the school Matthew & Laura go to and which Steve, Rob & Susan went to. The Chase used to be a large private house then was sold and became years later a Restaurant & Hotel.

Yes it took me ages to get to the hairdressers this morning with the queue trying to get by where they're building.   Mad  our roads just can't take it, too many houses being built.

Gave me a hand with the rest of the food Bond please......   run run run run  I know I just went mad  littleBlond   I'll get the jacket potato's in , you get the rest please...... run run run  mini minced pies  run run run run   watch with the trifle Bond  run run run run run don't drop it.....bring in that big bowl of pickled onions

Hi Carole, no it wouldn't be right for teachers to hav guns even with training could they pull the trigger?
The Chase is Nuneaton by the college not far from Vicky they have a big carpark that backs onto the college that seems to be used more by college people now they have started having to pay on the college carpark and I have heard that the college have sold off some of the carpark for building land, the roads around there are choker block in the morning now with all the new house building and the schools are full:tvman:

Yes Bond ,but they are saying this deputy was
there to protect the students and should have responded
As to letting teachers have guns in school I think a lot
would say NAY talktohand as that would be too
much pressure on top of teaching the kids ,and actually
is NOT THEIR JOB to go THAT FAR ,and the thought of
killing ANOTHER student regardless of what that person
was doing would be AWFUL Mad

Enjoy your lunch then at the Chase ,what town is THAT in
Coventry as it sounds familiar confused2

ALRIGHT its FRIDAY PEOPLE ,Gil is up washed dressed and fed
waiting on his therapist .......
and here come the clouds Rolling Eyes

Hi all, just Back from Owen Street a guick change and its pick mrsb up from the hairdressers then some lunch at the Chase, it has been tided up a bit as it was looking a bit run down,
Yes Carole we were just talking about it and over here a officer would be told no way do you go into the building, you wait for back up to arrive even for the armed team to arrive
That could take ages, now if the teacher is going time have a gun how many of them will be shot by police

Ahhh OK saw what you were referring too
Bond seems a deputy police officer was seen
arriving at the school and waited 4mins before
entering the building ,also the school tape that
officials were seeing was 20 MINUTES  behind real time
WTF
He was suspended with out pay ,but has now resigned as so he should

We had a 27yr old yesterday in CT drive his car through the glass
doors of a local hospital then set himself on FIRE CRAZY MAN
he is now in the Bridgeport Hospital burn unit in critical condition
He missed some people sitting in the waiting room confused2

on the news saying how some officials never responded
or something so will take a listen

Morning Bond ....
Rain has stopped here but due back later
today temps are cooler again 36f right now
so wrap up and on hand

Bond not sure what your talking about ,do you
mean a policeman was there but did not confront the shooter?
I do not think a single police office will go into a building
with out back up ,but again not sure what it is you have
read about the school shooting that has been reported in
the media confused2

Gil not too happy as I told him the Physio therapist asked
to come at 9am today ,normally I would say no as that would
be just when Barbara would be arriving to get him into the shower
I believe she wanted to squeeze him in only having had one
session this week being as we cancelled a visit ...
Anyway as soon as Blaine leaves I will have to get going to get him
washed etc
Got a rude awakening at 4am as it was Buddy came RUSHING
into the bedroom and jumped on the bed of cause hitting Gil's legs
as he lays that side ,and Gil yelled out ,woke Blaine up
as he was in the hall way asking what was up ,and I had been dreaming
that I was supposed to be bowling and could find NOTHING that FIT
ME to wear Shocked
Laid back down for an hour and here I be

So hope the ladies had a good night and I shall return later

Hi, well it sounds like the Vets idea could be a good idea if they are used to combat as the police were at the building in 90 seconds but didn't go in to face the shooter, he was armed and paid to go in but didn't

Ahh not to worry Vicky ,about the Raffinee
as I told you I would have had enough to last
me a couple of years with what I bought myself
and what Tracie sent ....feel bad though your left with it
unless you LIKE it and can wear it {then you can imagine
how I would smell if sitting next to you } funnytvprog
The thing I like about it is after squirting a little behind
each ear and wrists I do not smell it myself ,which is good
as certain perfumes make me feel quite sick to my stomach
This and White Diamonds are the only ones I have found
that do not do that

Spencer just replaced my gas cap and put some fluid in my radiator
as he told me I was down last time he checked

Keith did not get the job at the City ,so he and his son whom he
says will be leaving in a couple of weeks to do some installation
for what I do not know overseas will be helping him do next doors
12' counter , I asked if it had to be custom made he said he hoped
not watch him get a 10' one like I have and buy another 2' and put
them together as for another reason he cut mine at one end on an
angle and then put in the smaller section in the corner talktohand
don't ask WHY not only the boys but Gil asked WHY did he do that confused2
He is on the last cabinets and will finish Spencer's tomorrow he said
I SHALL BE CELEBRATING
The drinks will be on ME

As soon as he is gone I am off for a shower
and a GOOD NIGHT to one and ALL xxx

Is that the Clarkson one Bond or the new lot?

I hope most if not all your members turn up tonight Margaret, glad you had a fun night last night anyway. Good luck with the car as well.

Yes Carole I love reading about Margaret's shenanigans too. As to Keith he'll soon be finished and your kitchen will be back to normal but looking fab.

Oh Carole did you read about me trying to send you that Raffles perfume?

Ok back later.
