First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

I did not know about John Lennon until
hours after it happened so cannot remember
where I was.
I do remember what an impact it had on me
though. He was so talented and all he wanted
was peace in the world.

This country has never got past its violent past
and are still very paranoid about having their
guns taken away from them.

All because of an amendment in the constitution
that says that the right to bear arms to form a
a peoples army will not be taken away from them.
(this was in 1776 when the only weapons they had were
shot guns, pistols and cannons). They could not have foreseen the
weapons available today to the general public.
The NRA (national rifle assoc.) has become more powerful than
any political party (think IRA).

They have a strangle hold on every person in this countries government.
If you go against them ,your career will be at an end.
Doctors will not report their mental patients because they will end
up being sued. We all have to sign a document called a HIPPA
that says they will not disclose your medical condition to anyone
without your permission , even your legally married partner or
family!
Reagan closed all the mental hospitals and homes to save money
and that's why we have so many homeless mentally ill people.
They are not the problem as far as guns are concerned but
another example of Republican thinking as a way to bump up
the national coffers.
Now its the medical coverage of the poorest people who need it the
most. The Robber Barons are at it again!
The government in this country has gone from people like us to
merchants to lawyers to millionaires over the years.
They sell their souls to get there and stay there as long as they can.
I am glad that FDR had the wisdom to go from three terms as
President to two but we can kick them out after one! (4 years)
if we all vote.
So far this President has outdone even Nixon as the most
corrupt President. enough said, I could write reams on the
subject but I won't. Light rain along the coast here so far.
but it is supposed to get heavier later. TTFN

Now watching the bad weather hitting Marge's side and the worry
as she mentioned of the mudslides with all those fires they had

I was in a quandary as to what to make for dinner today
{had to laugh at the Hospice nurse ,said the reason Gil was healing
where he has the boo boo's on his butt is because of me feeding him so well}
Anyway made a meat pie as I had a box of pastry that I needed to use
up and had taken out some stew meat ....so the result is my new avatar

Thinking of CUTTING your GRASS Bond
funnytvprog ,have to FIND ours under the latest
snow fall first and I don't think its AWAKE yet as its
all dormant still
Still a few flurries around this morning but not
as big an amount as they THOUGHT THANK GOD

I feel really chuft AGAIN as guess who came ringing the door
bell last night ,Spencer's daughter Brittany bearing with her
a Store made Key Lime pie ,she thought being as I make them
I would like it as she was given it where she works from a local
bakery {did not want to tell her MINE tasted better lol }
as I sneaked a spoonful ,but it was nice catching up as do not
see her very much either .....she has a new job at another
dentists office as a dental assistant ,and also a new boyfriend
Stephen whom she used to go out with when she was 17yrs old
{she is 26 now 27 in June} who is a fireman ....

Anyway after that a pretty quiet night compared to the other
one
Also had a contact on FB from Gil's nieces husband Pete ,Denise
died some years ago after losing her mom {Gil's sister Maggie}
silly girl took her own life after losing first her brother and then Maggie
Anyway funnily enough Pete's new wife is also a CAROLE
they worked at Sandvik together & after they both left met at a reunion
and married at Holy Trinity in Coventry in 2017
I am happy for him as he was left with three young boys to raise
He was both upset and shocked to hear about Gil as they used to hit the
pubs together
Sent a few pictures so will keep in touch

OK so all that is left to say is
GOOD MORNING LADIES

Is it today Vicky gets her hospital BP hook up to bring home

Bond don't get too close you will make it go SKY HIGH

Be back later

I so agree with you Margaret about blood pressure and cholesterol, I think doctors and Consultants don't seem to realise everyones different.

Interesting about Peters Great Grandfather.

I think there is no "one size fits all"
as far as blood pressure and cholesterol
are concerned.
Taken over a period of time there develops
a trend which is the true indicator of what
is going on.
How many people get their blood pressure
taken every time they go to a doctors and
how many have a blood test done every year.
I don't know. confused2

Well, the rain has not reached us yet. In fact the
sunny is still out and our pavements are dry.
but north of us is a different story.
We may get some rain later in the day but the radar
is showing the main body of it is going north of us here.
I think the people in the burn areas and the mud
slide areas are having palpitation about now.
First the top soil came down then the boulders and the
authorities say that there is still a lot more to come down
off the slopes. People have been told to evacuate now
if they have disabled or young children and take their
animals to the large show grounds or college campuses
that have room for some large animals and their owners
before the worst hits.
That they are forecasting for Thursday.

Just been pottering about here and preparing by emptying
the kitchen bins and getting the cats litter boxes ready for at
least two days, (don't want to be running outside in the rain
if it pours.) I have thrown out all the catalogues out from Xmas.

Its funny how things show up when and where you least expect
them to. BBC news service did an article on the Grand Lodge
of Scotland which Peters GreatGrandfather on his fraternal
grand mothers side was at one time, the Grand Master of this
particular Lodge. I know there are many chapters but have not a
clue which one but did find out who the curator is.
I do have some Masonic items that I think belong to him
which I would like to donate back to them.
They might also belong to Peters father but need to get them
out and really look at them. The apron is so elaborate that
I don't think it would be from a regular member.
I can put the information in my folder to refer to a bit later.
These are among several items that one cannot just throw
away or give to charity.
I can get some acid free paper and boxes to store them in
so they do not get damaged any more than they have been
already.

Darma just called to tell me that tonight's dinner is at Texas
Lucie's which I can get to through back streets from here.
(just thinking in case its raining).
Its a BBQ place with a bar so a bit of a sports place.
We found out we can get the speakers turned off where
we sit so we can hear each other talk!

Friday its my dental appointment just for a teeth cleaning.
Got me a good size calendar with photos of muscle cars
on it , a different one for every month.
Its got nice big squares so I can print with a felt pen not
a ballpoint pen.
Better dash out and bring my newspapers in, they are wrapped
in plastic bags anyway but if they are sitting where the rain flows
down the driveway the water will seep in anyway, TTFN

Yes blue skies here also Bond.

Carole I've sent the photo of the aerial.

Yes the chart I've got says 90/70 is fine but the Consultant said "If it drops below a hundred you come straight back ...ok?" the nurse at my doctors said the same ages ago. confused2 yeah yeah ok. it's fine now anyway.....I have written it down so he'll see it.

Just a  for me please Bond
Well nothing as of YET {snow} but its
on its way .....could keep on trucking as
far as I am concerned ,4 storms in as many weeks
is getting to be "OLD news " now

So looks like Barb will have no problem arriving
but may have to run her home or at least to the
bus stop later ,they are saying all schools have early
dismissal and by 5pm its going to be tough going :driver:
and this will continue through the night ,so schools
and maybe some places of business will be late opening
Thursday
NEXT week though there's a couple of "50" days I saw

72f in Miami right now at 545am but they had some terrific
thunder storms and tornado's down there yesterday ,so that
as the weatherman just said is the trade off confused2

Gil slid off the bed AGAIN at 230am he was moaning
and when I got up he was laying with his legs and lower
body out and if I had not gotten up would have landed
on the floor ....managed to get him back on but it was
almost like he was not all there maybe 1/2 a sleep
I have a bed rail on Gil's side more on the top part but it does
not lower down like a hospital bed one ,going to have to figure
SOMETHING out though as once more I have been up every 2 hrs headbanger

Vicky

90/70 Blood Pressure

Systolic reading of 90 is in the Normal range.
Diastolic reading of 70 is in the Normal range.

Therefore, 90/70 is good blood pressure.
According to the American charts
So well done hope it stays that way
mine was 120 some thing over 80 last time I went
to my Dr

Morning Marge hope you managed to sort BR's
latches out ,pretty soon he will be ALL ready with
everything in its place and BRUMMMMM away you will go

Back later have MORE  washingbasket  seems I am doing MORE
with Gil these days ,its like having a three year old misses his mouth
when eating   and will not let anyone help him for the most part Rolling Eyes

Good evening all, yes mrsb is feeling better thanks after a couple of paroteatumall and a rest, it was shock and the thought of what it could of been easy breaking her wrists, she had been so worried about th been ice on the paths she had hardly been out and now it all gone she falls
Three of our friends have had breaks and chips over the last two weeks, but none due to the ice, one in Spain broken arm in two places, one on the bottom step of the stairs broken bones around the anckle, one fell and chiped a elbow, the one that fell on the bottom step of the stairs had just put her little dog in its cadge as she does when she goes for a shower up stairs, so he was going mad knowing something was wrong, she managed to drag herself to him on her tummy and let him out, he was all over her licking her then as she was draging herself to the phone still not able to stand he fetched her slippers and put them by her in she has been waiting for a new knee on her other leg and can't put any weight on that so off her feet for six to eight weeks
when Michael moved into his house I noticed his back gutter dipping after some rain so I got the ladder up to clean them out there was some in there but not much but as I was moving the ladder I tapped the down spout and it sounded funny so when I got down I tapped it again and it sounded full so I took it apart and it was full of wet leaves almost to the top must of been years of the things in there, light rain fall would drain though so I put a chicken wire ball in the top of it
Sorry Carole the Danish was just a dream and I am thinking of my figure as I bought a pair of straight dark blue jeans today, pass that carrot please

Oh we don't have that sort of aerial these days Carole.it's a wide band digital aerial, high winds don't touch the signal.

My BP was low this morning 90 over 70. .....the Consultant did say "If it goes below a hundred come back" talktohand  oh it'll be ok tomorrow.

Another lovely photo of Susan, a night out with friends.

Hello all ...yer that is what I did Marge
the Salonpas that I bought for Gil's neck
that did nothing ,I used on my elbow last
night and again this morning ,have not taken
any pills though as they make me want to Sleep
do not have a high tolerance or low tolerance
which ever way it is for pain pills ,the ones I take
"All day pain relief" are only 220mg ...

I have this vision of you and Lorna Marge ladder
sounds like you have Gutter Guards...something we
keep saying this house needs due to all the trees
that surround us ,would pay for themselves IF
the landlord would get them as we have had the gutters
cleaned twice already this year and its only March

Glad we do not have to put up with roof aerials any more
although a lot of people are going over to the "dish"
Can remember the "H" aerial we had in Coventry
God help us if the wind happened to blow hard and knock
it a little off the signal  headbanger

Just put Gil back on the Oxygen as the nurse said to do it
a few hours a day ,when she tested him yesterday he
registered 95 ,she said it also helps with
his cognitive as when your brain is lacking oxygen you
don't THINK straight Shocked

Getting grey looking out side .maybe if I do my
it might go away    ♪ snow snow go away ♪ come again
ANOTHER day {NEXT YEAR } run run run

Oh poor Mrs B Bond.......as you say she'll be stiff tonight and tomorrow. It was like me when I did Bambi on ice......was still hobbling over Christmas., but I do hope Mrs B will be ok.

We had the Electrician/Aerial guy here this morning.......we had to have a new aerial put on the roof, we'd lost 10 HD Channels because the powers that be had moved them to a new wave band and the aerial we had couldn't receive them.

Toasted bun please Bond.

Oooo, nasty for Mrs. B then.
Did the same type of dive last
July 4th here in my driveway.
I also landed on my knees, chest
and hands.
The sick part was feeling my ribs
bend, I thought they would break.
But they didn't and just got a
few bits of gravel in my hands.

Carole, it might be just a bit of inflammation
in your elbow. Some ointment might help
along with a couple of Tylenol or what ever you
take for a bit of pain.( I use Icy Hot. )

Spent an hour or so over at Lorna's house mid
day yesterday helping her clean her rain gutters
out ahead of the storm that's coming (they are saying
Thursday now) She climbs up on the roof with a scoop
and a trash bag and I am the spotter along with
being the ladder holder. She has open gutters, she
needs a device that sits into the top of the down spout
to stop the leaves from clogging it up.
She only has one down spout at the back of the house,
I have two, one of which has the down spout going round
the corner and along the side of the garage to the side
gate so it can empty out onto the driveway and to the street.
My gutters have slotted covers on them as there are trees
on the next door neighbors lot that blow leaves my way .

She took my extension ladder across the road with no
help. confused2

I had warned her some time ago not to do this job alone
as if she fell
no one would find her for a long time.
This was all done while she was on her lunch break
between her duties as a crossing guard!
She was telling me what its like when it rains and she
has all five dogs and four cats inside the house..... Mayhem!!!
No, not really. The older ones just curl up and go to sleep.

She has to be at the traffic lights on the corner rain or shine.
I don't envy her being out there. Some of the parents think
they are entitled to drop kids off all over the place instead of
near the corner so they can cross the road safely.
There was a near miss last Monday when a car bumped a kid
on a bike in the school parking lot, no serious injuries but there
could have been.
I said they need a camera on that junction so the police can see
what is going on out there.
There are three schools that use that crossing, an elementary
school , a middle school and the high school and a church
nursery school!
You have never seen so many cars trying to get their kid to school
and pick them up again along with the yellow school buses.
I avoid it by coming in and out from the other end of the street.
Its time for some breakfast here and a catch up on the news before
starting my work schedule for the day, TTFN

Hi Carole, I said hello to Coventry Carole, mrsb said closer as she went flying, if it had been in a diving pool she would of got 9-9 off the judges, she tripped over a raised slab landing on the palms of her hands chest and knees, she got up with a little help, sat on a shop window sill for a m to get her breath before moving off but she was OK she may get The little stiff tonight
Its going milder here Carole so the nice weather lady says as the wind will be coming from the south West
Tea up and a selection of Danish sticky things

Good morning ,guess we had better be
prepared for our 4th Nor'easter due to
arrive later tonight and last into Thursday
morning,and depending on which weather
you look at we could get from 1 to 12"
of the heavy wet ♥️ attack snow  with high winds

Went to bed with a boo boo left elbow ,hurts to the
touch so have NO IDEA what I did ,as did not knock
it or anything
Cannot have this as I need my arms to help lift Gil etc

Blaine went to work after  being home all day in bed yesterday
woke up and almost fell over as his head was spinning
so gave him an antihistamine and it seems to have worked

Heard Spencer coming in also late last night so my two male chicks
are were here over night

Gil will be getting a reclining wheel chair Thursday from Hospice
yesterday they delivered a commode and a hospital table
that will help no end as he has been eating with a tray on his
lap sitting in his reclining chair ,very dicey .......

Barb and I will be parking the chair on the deck when the
weather gets warmer and she wants to help me in the garden
as she also loves flowers etc ,Gil can get some fresh air and
watch ....

Glad to hear all the ends have been tied with regards the new house
Vicky

Say hello to Coventry Bond

MORNING MARGE

The lock on Big Red is hidden under a
piece of molding and only the 2" square
locking part is showing so it means
unscrewing the molding and I don't want
to get into it that far. The mechanics are
much quicker at doing this, Also it
may mean the spring has broken or the
whole latch may need to be replaced.
We went through this some years ago with
the hood latch. The old lubricant just gets
too thick and turns to gum.
For the hood, it just took a cleaning and new
lubricant.
While I have the time I am going to do a little
scratch repair on BB. The one patch on the corner
of the passenger front bumper I know is a quick
fix. Its just on the surface. The key marks round
the drivers side lock are a little deeper
( not me I hasten to add but a combination of
high SUV or truck door banging in the parking lot and Peter
driving my car and he could not get the key still
enough to get in the lock).
I do have some black auto paint to touch it up
with but it means spraying some into a metal pie
plate and using a toothpick to apply it.
There was also a long scratch on the passenger side
down by the door sills ( that was Peters last trip
in my car!) He side swiped the car next to him at the
sub post office because his wheels were not straight
when he tried to back out.
Luckily its almost a very thin straight line and with the
amount of detailing that has been done its not
noticeable any more.
BB is my work horse so I treat her twice a year to a
detail job.
The sun out here is very strong so the finish needs the
extra protection or the paint fades. Its also sits under
a tree in the driveway so it gets tree sap and bird droppings
on it from time to time. (not my tree!)

Well, Vince's money has been deposited into his account for
the year. Now we wait and see what he does next.

Weather man says we have a weather front headed our way
called "The Pineapple Express" meaning its coming from the
direction of Hawaii over the Pacific. It should arrive locally
tomorrow evening. This maybe a gully washer with some
heavy rain at times. Already been shopper fridgefood
should be good for a few days.
Currently its 49f with sunny 64f is the forecast high for the day
going down to 49f as the overnight low. There is a 40% chance of
showers overnight.

Bond, can't you do toast on your stove broiler?
Or don't they come with one these days.
Mine is inside the oven so I could do six slices at once!
(have to watch them though)
Carole, see you have more heavy weather headed your way,
They are saying the 4th N'Easter this year!
Time to put on the pinnie and get working here. TTFN

Good morning everyone
Up early today something was spooking
Buddy so he has been charging around here
since 330am so I eventually got up at 438 tired

Last day of winter today ,they are saying we should
cross our fingers about the possible SNOW Wednesday
Only in the 20's right now ,but looking good for when
I meet up with Linda on Friday after my Dr's visit cheers

Marge so the hatch latch is not moving at all by what
your saying ,that happened to my Blazer some years ago
there was a small lever that Gil had to climb into the back and fix
there was like a piece of wire like a hook that had come off
inside the lock ,simple fix so lets hope its the same for BR

MY you ARE related to a lot of talented people aren't you
My sons had a pager back in the 70's if I needed them in a hurry
it was 9 1 1 and they would come run run

I see Bond your finding things to do duster ,maybe a little drawing
where is Mrs B today ?

Anyway I am away back sometime today

Several years ago My cousin Jean and her husband
(who started the pager business in the UK)
Actually presented a new lifeboat to I believe it was
Hastings, christening it with champagne ,the whole
Monty.
It was one of those mono cockpit designs so that if
it turned turtle, it could right itself.
His name is Eric Cass and his company made a lot
of money before mobile phones came out.
They are retired now.
The house they used to own was called "Bleep".

Teighnmouth Life boat service got a new set of wave runners one
summer when we were there for picking up swimmers
in trouble. they tow a kind of board so that the swimmer can be rolled
onto it more easily by the second person on the wave runner than
trying to pull them out of the water as dead weight.
(we got a full demonstration using the Mayor as the victim!)

So lots of support from both Peters and my side of the family.

Got the lock on the filer cap fixed but no luck with the hatch latch,
kept working the key and moving the latch but the latch would
not engage so it so I need to look at it again tomorrow and if there
is still no luck I will be calling Hillside.
At least I can drive it down back streets all the way there with a short
bungie cord holding the hatch down.
confused2

Well you certainly enjoyed yourself Margaret.

Susan's ex boss is a life boat guy, Liam, he came to the evening do at her & Matt's wedding, he is such a funny guy him and 3 other lifeboat men did this video, money to go to the lifeboat, oh it was funny......did this sketch and then a song  such a funny guy......but they go out and put their lives at risk.....he was on the TV about two years ago, somewhere got terrible floods and there was Liam carrying this child out of a flooded house.  He's moved to a different company.....still keeps in contact with Susan & Matt.

Oh now do I want an iced bun?

Hi Carole.......that's right you can't just wash out your perm, you can wash your hair and have it done straight, but until it grows out the perm is there.

Oh yes, I'm awake have been since 8:30am
The meal was fantastic, Cindy cooked the
beef in Guinness with veggies and had
small potatoes and cabbage as well.
There was pickled beet and onion salad
and a small strawberry short cake for dessert.
The Irish cream got drunk before the meal
as everyone wanted to taste it!
We drank it over crushed ice in a wine glass.
The Brand I favor is Carolans and it has
a really smooth aftertaste.

I sometimes add it to a glass of cold Ovaltine
in place of coffee when its hot here.
All the Soda bread was eaten with the meal.
We divided up the shamrock cookies to take
home as we were too full to eat anything else!

Yolanda had made a plate full of her fab deviled
eggs. She puts her own flavoring in the filling
which makes them taste divine.
The conversation is always lively at these dinners.
The one thing we all share is the ownership of cats.
There has been a new addition at Teresa's house,
a young black cat who is still discovering this new
place where he lives. He is not a kitten but is not
full grown yet either. Just primed for mischief.
He could be Jagger's twin!
Peter's cousin Janet and her husband have lived in
Teighnmouth for years and love it there.
He is a retired Met police officer who wanted somewhere
to retire to where he would not bump into any of the
criminals he had arrested over the years.
They now volunteer at the Royal Lifeboat trust in their town.
They raise money to buy new equipment.
Peter and I have visited them a few times and always enjoyed
the small seaside town feel about it.
Its like going back to the 50s with all the small shops alone the
high street.
Weather is cooler again today. Its 48f at the moment but with
bright sunny The high is supposed to be 60f and the low tonight
is expected to be 48f. The humidity level stands at 81% but
no showers in the forecast until Tuesday.

Going to work on Big Red this morning to see if I can get the locking
mechanism unfrozen. Good job I had taken it to get the tank filled
BEFORE this happened so not a mad rush to get it fixed before running out
of gas!
I also have a scratch eraser for BB as she has a few that could easily be
buffed out at home. I am pretty good at that if I do say so myself.
In turn I have worked on every car we have ever owned.
I would rather detail a car than do housework!
I would draw attention of the men who asked if I would take on
their cars but refused good money as this was one way of doing
something nice for Peter.
This was in the days when we could not afford the car wash detail
which now is over $100. I only have mine done once or twice a
year, BB was done for me at Hillside before Xmas so she is good
to go for a while. She just needs a regular wash and wax.
Big Red I have only had done once since Peter passed as the paint
work was still pretty new so taking it easy on the finish but he is
due ready for the summer season.

I have bunny ears, nose and tail for BB at Easter.

BR is a problem as his "Eyes" are hidden during the day.
He does have those Lightening McQueen eyes sun visor. eye eye
I know I am a bit daffy but I never overdo it, a bit of whimsy is
all I need.
See Coventry City won yesterday, I like seeing the W pop up on the
tables.
Time to get moving here . TTFN

The church you see St Mary's is where Susan and Matt got married ......oh yes Portbury is just a quiet village.   Though Carole Susan and Matt don't really live in WSM they live in West Wick about 4 miles from WSM West Wick is quiet too, though Portbury will be ideal for work, nearer to the Mall they love to visit, and Clifton which they love looking around the individual shops, they'll be  just round the corner from Matt's parents same with Matt's best mate, they'll see more of Becky because Becky lives in Portishead very near Portbury,.and they've got such plans for the house, kitchen lovely but it's not Susan's taste so that'll be ripped out, they want to make the large front bedroom into the master bedroom (the now master bedroom will be ours) with a dressing room and the en-suite and then the garden re-done.   It'll cost about £40,000 but it'll be fantastic when done.

Oh btw Portbury is nearer to us.

Hi Bond.
