First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

It's not that bad out there ......went to Woodlanda, it was really busy, just had a buttered scone though I did pinch a few chips.

talktohand Carole it's not so much getting your weight down, which is good, but more being careful what you're eating IF you are diabetic......though saying that Sylvia could eat crisps confused2 though not BAGS of it just a few on her plate when she was having salad.

Have a lovely day Bond.

Whooo I LOVES cold hands down on my neck/shoulders
Bond ,one of my older men workers used to creep
up behind me while I was doing the mail at 730am
and put his freezing cold hands on the back of my neck
thinking I would go affraid ,but I LOVED IT felt good

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Blizzard of 1978 ,when our
then Governor  CLOSED the State so that plows private and
the state employees could try and get the highways and local
roads opened ,so ALL factories SHUT DOWN I had been at USB
then for 4 yrs ..THAT was a STORM I was 36 and all you could
hear were the bumping and scraping of the plow trucks ,the mounds
of snow were SO HIGH I wish I had taken pictures they were like small
mountains
Spencer had broken his foot earlier and had it in a blue cast and
I remember SCREAMING at him as looking out our 2nd floor window
I saw him on TOP of one of these "mounatins" with his blue cast
Mad    my kids saw no danger

http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/connecticut/blizzard-of-1978-ct/

Anyway have a nice day Bond , I just put my spare ribs in my slow cooker
with the Root Beer to cook for 7 hrs for tonight's Super bowl game
GOOOOO PAT'S

Vicky all I have to do is take Gil's handicap plaque down
if that was the case as its only if I take a parking spot
should Gil not be with me should anyone question WHO
it belongs to ,I may very well have to get my own after
anything happens to him but right now as long as I
am not taking it from someone in REAL NEED I don't
worry as you see these people with them that look FINE
jumping out of cars with plaques

As to crisps I still have a few once in a while but must be doing
SOMETHING right as this morning I am down ONE STONE 2 pound
from when I started

MORNING LADIES  Rain on its way for later better than SNOW
though

Can you get a dual badge Carole?   OR maybe just one for YOU that would help both you and Gil.?

talktohand  Oh no you can't have crisps Carole....  naughty girl     I remember what Sylvia couldn't eat, pity they didn't tell her to stop the drinking, though she said her doctor said "I suppose you're still drinking?" and she said "Yes and you're not going to take that away from me"  so she knew they didn't want her to drink but they should of told her to stop or put herself in to a coma, that was the only way she'd of stopped, she was scared of going into a coma.

Oh well it's late .....I'm off to bed.     Nighty night..

Glad your tummy is fine today then Vicky
As to the handicap plaque talktohand if
EVER you saw the way I walk now a days
anyone seeing me get out my 4x4 would
not question whether it was mine or Gil's

Spencer saw the Dr today to discuss his blood
work all was good except one of the cholesterol
numbers either LDL or the other it was 130 and she
said they like it closer to 100 or below ...
He goes back again soon to see the MALE Dr whom
he REALLY wanted but had to start off with the lady DR first
He has also lost more weight down to 201 now confused2

The Nutritionist said I could eat cheese preferably though
Laughing Cow but that cheese was preferred to me having crisps

MY sugar number was also down last time I went

GI Dr Monday Shocked although I feel FINE NOW

OK better go Gil' is starting to grumble wants to eat

Oh yes Victory V's Bond and how about Fisherman's Friend.   I used to like them also.

Cheese and spanish onion.....oh if only, I can have the onion but not the cheese .....spoke to Bev today and she's been told to cut out the hard cheese, she told the doctor she only has a  small slice of the hard cheese because it upsets her tum.....as it does with me, her blood pressure is now low when it's been really high for years....her sugar level is high though. when she gets back from seeing Marcus the doctor wants to have a talk about it....she had been borderline diabetic so with her sugar being higher, oh dear.   confused2  anyway I'm seeing her on Wednesday......of course she goes to see Marcus next Sunday I think it is and of course she needs a lift.  Shocked  sigh!!

You're bound to have up & down days Margaret......if you ever want a quiet day tell your friends, they'll understand, but of course  when you want to let your hair down then your friends will be there......if you ever want to go shopping, even just window shopping, then I'm also here.  Smile

Oh my tum is fine today Carole......I've had a jacket potato and salad for dinner, I've also just  had a banana sarnie and a

Over here you aren't allowed to use the handicap badge if the person it's for is not in your car. David's Dad had one but we were only allowed to use it when he was in our car.

I'm not sure about the  I'm reading, though he's a really good writer and I've read lots of his books I don't think this one is one of his best.

Right later.

Morning Marge ,ahh as I said we are
all not far away ..bound to have your bad and good days
memories are what makes the ♪ World go around ♪
Mine is in a funny sort of mood today and I do not mean
the funnytvprog kind either
He has days where its like his brain is somewhere else
instead of on his shoulders ,he hesitates, like it freezes
and you have to YELL at him to make him do something
almost like he does not HEAR you
Walking him to the bathroom yesterday he suddenly stopped
in mid stride almost like he had forgotten how to walk

After going to my regular shopper store this morning
I needed to go to one in the opposite direction called Price-Rite
as that is where they sell the good spare ribs I got before
so unloaded the groceries then got Gil up dressed and fed
and went to get the ribs , talktohand wrong thing to do
as today is the day when the welfare people get their "food stamps"
and Price-Rite sells cheaper food ,IT WAS A ZOO I kid you not
their HUGE parking lot was FULL ,luckily I found one handicapped
space that opened up so was able to get that but there were NO shopper
God help anyone who wanted to do a weeks worth of shopping
{most in there looked like they were shopping for the MONTH} so
I found the four items I needed ribs cheese and Root Beer and headed
to the check outs ,again I lucked out as all of the 10 checks outs that
were manned had people standing with baskets LOADED to the ROOF
but I got behind a man who like me only had four items AND A CART
while waiting I passed on my recipe for the ribs as he was going to cook
BBQ chicken wings and he said he was going to try them as well Smile

Its sunny here but OH SO COLD right now still a high of only 28f ,feeling like
17f with this cutting wind ....and the storm tomorrow should
only be rain not snow as first predicted ,BUT Wednesdays storm
when I see Fran could change to be a SNOW event headbanger

OK so is your tummy OK Vicky ?
Bond you getting cabin fever lol
Anyway I am going to sit a while as Gil has now reclined and is easychair

Back later tired

I had a thing about Horlicks when I was pregnant
with Melanie.
I used to have to travel into Bedford to the Hospital
for my check ups from Cranfield. (about an hour
and a half trip) so while waiting for the bus back.
I would get a hot drink (Horlicks) in the Bus station
café. Remember this was through the winter months
so it got pretty cold, in fact there were snow flurries
the day after she was born!
I loved the tablets because they had glucose in them
to give you a pick me up.

I have been invited to have a birthday dinner over at
Lorna's which I prefer to going out to eat.
We are starting early it won't be a late night.

I too, got very tired yesterday but there is always
a certain weariness after a full week so I just did
the essentials and rested.
I was still snuggled up about an hour ago but the
cats were getting restless so I knew it was time to
feed them. I am liable to get a 12 lb black cat landing
on my stomach as they chase round the house.
Thank goodness I got his claws clipped yesterday!
Tabbitha has been keeping her distance so she knows
what is coming. Smile

I am going to just get my priorities in order today on a list.
so I can keep track of what dates things are due and
whether I have all the tax stuff yet.
Its Sarah's birthday today and its also the anniversary of
Ian and Rebecca's first date 25 years ago.
All is going along OK a day at a time with Melanie and Jim.
That's all I can ask for at the moment.

It seems that the girl who bought the gun to school here
is only 12 years old! and it was in her backpack and it went
off when she dropped the backpack on the floor. so the
Police are investigating how she was able to get a loaded
gun at home and how she got it on school grounds.
The school district has its own police force on each campus
and there are random bag checks done anyway.
The parents are going to be in real trouble for keeping a
loaded gun where a child could get at it.

Carole I am OK, just too many memories going through my mind
and having to keep the ship afloat here. Its going to happen from
time to time so I just have to get used to it and be honest about it.
Its never plain sailing for long but January is the worst time
for me as Peter left on January 17th 2016.
I am so blessed to have so many good people around me in times
like this. Thank You all.
Now, on to breakfast and going to wash my hair, had a shower
before I went to bed last night. then its putting on my filing hat
and get filing! TTFN

Well wet here......Rob's picked Laura up.

Oh I loved horlicks tablets as well and then they go and stop making them .....I'll tell you what I also used to do when I didn't have any horlicks tablets put some of the horlicks powder from the jar onto a piece of paper and dip a wet finger into the powder until the powder has all gone. Mmmm yum yum.

Gosh that Barbara is a treasure Carole.

They have a "Ye Olde Sweet Shop" at Wightmoors......they used to have an old sweetshop next door to my hairdressers but they've moved. .....I think that's the shop my hairdressers bought out and how they made their place into the large salon they've got now, it must have been now thinking about it, I'll have to have a look next Friday.

Back later.

Oh Lyons tea rooms there was one in Bolton and my Gran used to take me there (when she was in a good mood)  when I was around 11.    And I used to work in Timothy Whites & Taylors when I was 16....that was not far from where I used to live, 5 minutes walk at Moses Gate......no excuse to be late    hem.   David also got my engagement ring from Samuels though in Bolton across from where I then worked. Also my great aunt Sarah was related to  Samuels not sure how, my Gran just said they came to her brothers wedding ....fur coats (the man as well) and a big car     confused2

Oh Lacock Abbey  (Harry Potter fame) had the twisty chimneys Bond......and also a house in Tynesfield  (think it's called) in Bath.

Thanks for the picture Bond. So many memories, it was Timothy
White and Taylors on that other end nearest Priory Row and
going down Hilltop to get some fish and chips from Fishy Moore's
which was in those days was on the street between the Burges and
Trinity Street facing the back of Owen and Owen.
I believe it was a Lyons Tea shop at one time but a lot of local
businesses had to move when the Bomb damage was being
taken care of.
I am a bit down in the dumps again but it is to be expected as
I don't get enough time to process my grief at times.

I delegated a few things to two ladies at my meeting and asked
Ian if he would order a new book on Stalag Luft lll which I learned
about from the POW online news letter.
Its amazing that books are still being written and reissued about
the experiences of the Airman (mainly British, American and Polish
with a few other common wealth nations thrown in) who were held
in that camp. There were so many escapes tried from that one camp,
the "Wooden Horse" being an earlier one.

This new book is taken from an in depth early report which was put away
and forgotten, its has individual reports from about 20 odd escapers
and how they did it. Not all got "Home Runs" but each escape lifted
the other Kriegies spirits that it was possible to find away out.
They were well aware of the progress the allies were making on their
secret radios but still made it look like they were planning another escape
after the mass escape failed. They kept the guards on their toes until the
camp was evacuated ahead of the Russians.
These men are called "The greatest generation" here.
Enough history for today. soapbox

My cats freak at just the sight of cases! They know what's coming next.
I know what's coming next here for me....Breakfast! TTFN

You're right Carole they're not daft they know just what's going on, it's the same when we're packing up to go to visit Susan, he's watching the cases being put by the door  "What's going on?" you can see him thinking.    "Are they leaving me?"  awwww.

Did liver, mashed potatoes, broccoli & cauliflower for dinner.....not sure that was a wise move though .

Gave Rob Dawn's present ......I told him NOT TO DROP IT

Oh I love those chimney's Bond......I took some last year or the year before.

That is cute ,Benjie looking for you
when you were in the hospital and after
to make SURE you were there ,and people
say they do not know , talktohand OF COURSE
they do ....

Well sorry to hear you have another upset tummy
but could you keep it over there as I felt OK when
I first got up but just been to the loo TWICE and its
not feeling so swift right now and all I had was my coffee

Heard from Barbara asking what the roads were like
over here ,well they do not look "bad" wet but that could
be icy under foot and as I said she has a good way to walk
after getting off the bus ,and she will either get off at the top
of the hill that our street runs off and have to walk DOWN or
get off at the bottom of the hill the bus goes UP and then she has to walk UP
the big hill to get to our street ,we are a dead end both ends with
this steep hill {Parkview } splitting Lakeview in 1/2 .....not good in bad weather

Anyway I may take a pill ,you feel better as the "help" is out joy riding

We took the board away from the bottom of the stairs ages ago Carole ......he doesn't often go upstairs, he's really good, though when I was in hospital he did go looking for me, and when I got back he used to run upstairs dash up to me, then go back down stairs again, yep I was at home, he doesn't do that now though he knows I'm here. Smile no it's just odd occasions he goes upstairs THOUGH when Susan & Matt are here he'll go and lie on the landing by their bedroom door until MATT goes into the bathroom, then gets dressed and comes down. He loves Matt.

Rob is leaving the divorce arrangements to her and he's heard nothing.....and they're The Witch & Her Fella are supposed to be getting married in August. Shocked

funnytvprog That is VERY appropriate
then Bond having breakfast at Sir G's cafe
he was always on about as I see he POPPED
in here AGAIN last night at 746pm ,who know's
maybe you will run into him
Vicky you had better check your PM box he
must be worried about you funnytvprog

Plus I knew of the Gas Light play/movie
just wondered if the players or someone did
make up plays themselves like we used to perform
when I was at Broad St school we called them "skits"
some of them were HILARIOUS we had everyone plus
ourselves in stitches four of us whom we called ourselves
the "Four Musketeers"
Pat Locke,Gillian Connolly Pauline McPheat and I  funnytvprog

The snow is late starting here and so the temps are
only now taking a nose dive so all the
we have had over night is now freezing up fast and
as the weatherman is showing on TV the car doors
could be frozen shut  ,although I did show Blaine a
trick the other week after his were frozen ,he had
to climb in through the back door so was lucky as
normally they ALL get frozen tight ,the trick is
for your FYI is a can of cooking spray ,you spray this

making sure you wipe the excess off and so far it works
but son did not do it so quite possible he will have a job
getting into his car this morning

unemployment  this morning not sure if he will make it .....
brought home a pineapple upside down cake Carmen had made

Anyway lets see what happens later and whether Gil's Aid makes it

Sorry to be a bit late on parade but there has been
shooting in a down town LA middle school, these
are 12,13,14 and 15 year olds!
One girl with a gun shot a boy in the head and a
girl got shot in the wrist. There were a couple of
kids with shrapnel wounds but they were minor.
Guess it was a very jealous girl trying to take down
the straying boyfriend.
Of course the whole school complex is on lock down.
This is Belmont learning center which contains
a high school, a middle school and an elementary
school all in one place.
So parents were notified by reverse text messages
and they are waiting to hear if their kids are alright.
They arrested the shooter so no longer a danger.

Vincent just called for his little chat to see how things
are going here and to let me know he is gradually
getting his act together ,he will be 70 in July so its
about time!
I think I missed him last week as I was out and about
messing with the DMV and other things.

I had better call the eye place to see if the Dr. has
completed my form. It might have been sitting since
Monday and they have not called.
Its been a couple of days with Big Red but the place
has to finish other cars first before starting on mine
so not expecting to hear from them until maybe tomorrow.

Lorna's dogs know the drill also, when I leave they must go
in their crates while she is gone. They go reluctantly but
they go, except for the smallest, the Pom who only gives in
when I catch her. she is like a furry little purse but boy
can she move on those tiny legs!
Need another mug of tea to take my pills, other than that
its light housework today TTFN

You have Benjie trained well I see ,Saba was kind of like that
except he made us feel GUILTY when we said we were going out
as he would go into our bedroom that faced the driveway jump
up on the bottom of the bed and lay his head down more or less saying
"Ok go then I will stay here all alone"   but he would be as good as gold
till we got back ....

Anyway I shall be back later
Oh heard from Little Linda last night wondered why she had not been
in contact ,seems they found a tumor in her bladder {that is like Gil gets
but his Urologist calls them Polyps } so they removed it and she will know next
week about it ,I did not want to tell her that Dr Small said they are cancer but
if removed do not pose a threat ...so will wait till I hear from her
as she kept getting interrupted on the phone with me

Morning Bond just confused1
for me right now please cannot eat first thing
Very busy weather next few days and into next week
not sure if Barbara will make it here tomorrow
from what the weatherman is saying ,the bigger
storm predicted for SuperBowl Sunday into Monday
could be more  now than snowy
But I also see the snow markings for my hairdressers
visit next Wednesday Shocked
Starting off in the 20's today should warm up to around 40f
They are also warning people to stock up on heating oil
as another colder snap is on its way and supplies are low
Mad ,the last "snap" we had cost me an extra $100 on the electric bill
as I had to keep the temp up so high so the furnace was running
a LOT more as its started by electric another bad thing if we
lose electric power in the winter as we then lose heat confused2

Want to wish my baby sister a  today
born during that awful storm back in 1951 where part of Lynmouth
slid into the sea

Back later then
Hope the ladies had a good night ,I ended up taking a pain pill
as my leg/thigh/hip  was giving me so much jip ,that knocked
it out AND ME for a few hours
Another thing I need to get sorted  headbanger

MORNING LADIES

The problem with this is Vicky that
unfortunately the "flu" does not discriminate
and another thing is he is doing ALL the work HIMSELF
he is not a young man ,and if he went up and down
my stairs yesterday and the day before to turn off different
circuits he must have gone up and down 6 times ,I told him
I would not charge for the exercising ....funnytvprog

Yes the Blue full moon should be pretty if you can see it

it was too low on the horizon for us to see here unless

I must get telepathic messages from Bond as I
just put my on for tea.
I was having a quiet day yesterday when Lorna came over
with a wrongly addressed card for me and asked if I wanted
a Margarita or two so we both got a bit tipsy last night.
She had to work this morning but I didn't.
Sometimes you need a friend who has been through what
you have to make the hurt go away.

Melanie says fingers crossed Jim is slowly coming out of his
depression. She and his sponsor are going to make sure he goes
to have his condition properly diagnosed when he is a little better.

They are going to remove her PIC line to see if she can sustain
her weight with eating enough food by mouth. If not, she may have
to go back on it again. I know she does not want that.
It will take one more expense out of her budget for having it
flushed once a week. They bill her monthly for whatever Medicare
will not pay for.
Ian did a quick count of money paid out this past tax year for her
medical and it does not meet the threshold of $8,000 so I cannot
claim it off my taxes! The rest of the money is considered a gift.
I don't have the records to back it up anyway.
Should have thought of that earlier.
Sun is out again here, My weather station is saying that the temperature
right now is 73f and that the high for the day is 73f which won't be for
another few hours so my guess is it will hit higher than that. Its 28%
humidity as well so nice prune like skin again. It could be
worse, we have had it down to under 10% humidity on occasion.
You can see the trees wilting before your eyes!
Going to see if I can track down a plumber today and do some more
grocery shopping. Not a lot but ran out of canned cat food faster than
I thought.
They asked for seconds again this morning so now they are
sleeping with very full bellies. If I can feed them more food less often
it will make things easier for me. They show up four times a day
ready to be fed! It has to be something they really like though.
I feed the very small cans as it has more gravy in them to help
with the hair balls. Food with more fiber in it will do the same thing.
Its worth a try anyway.
Got nice little posy of flowers from Melanie and Jim yesterday,
all shades of pink and white.
I have a $100 credit on Amazon so going to see what kind of lockets
they have as I have been meaning to get a gold one. I have a silver
one which Peter bought me when I was 16 at H. Samuels. where the Flying
Standard is now.
I need to get a black velvet ribbon to put that on.
I am going to the craft store anyway to buy some google eyes.
Don't laugh but my big bins look like space creatures so going to have
a bit of fun.
That's all for now. TTFN

on........maybe a rubber floor, I know Liz Carr the actress cried when she watched it, she said it was very personal to her, the writer said he had always wanted to write something for her to shine through because she's amazing.....to have someone (Connor) say to her "Look at you your worthless"   oh dear.....but she was 100% behind the writer. and I bet the actor felt awful saying that,.  Liz Carr was brilliant though.....the way she first backed away from the home wouldn't go in with Jack & the team, she really looked scared.....and then went under cover herself.

Oh you were talking to me then and not Mrs B?.  "Put the kettle on love"
