First topic message reminder :

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.

The sunny  out but as you say Bond looks cold.

Glad the guy is back home

John (Matt's Dad)  & his brother have put their brother Jeff's house on the market.....they're busy emptying it, going to sell things on ebay.   Matt's been left some money which will go towards buying a house.

True about counting your blessings Carole.

Yes we heard about those kids Carole, you hear these stories more often these days don't you, what is it with these parents.  Mad

Oh well I expect we'll be off out.....somewhere, maybe Woodlands.  confused2

I'll have a cuppa please Bond though.

Yes Bond some need to count
their blessings ....
Even I can feel my body slowing
down with the aches and pains I
mainly have to keep to "mine self" confused2

Gil's water works looks normal today again
so guess the Cipro worked
Now if ONLY there was a pill to fix his OTHER issues headbanger

Back later I have to go out and get some tea bags
today as I will NOT be traveling far tomorrow

BTW my spare ribs I cooked in the slow cooker
with root beer were well received,Blaine even asked
me "where I got them "

Did you see that family who kept their 13"children "
shackled to their beds etc ,and how they say the 17 yr
old that somehow got word to authorities looked
like a TEN YEAR OLD she was SO UNDERWEIGHT
in Perris California they ranged from 2 yrs to 29yrs old

It's a bit of a end to to the end this morning as I've put together the last of my new overalls bib and brace, white jacket and apron, when they have gone they have gone, I've taken a couple of sets to the charity shop and as I was coming out I met a old work colleague he was being pushed about in his wheel chair, after shaking hands he said did I know it been 50 years since we worked together and I told him about the overalls, he said we had some good times didn't we!! I thought we'll your a poor old thing now

Good morning Bond glad the gentleman
is home Derek;s mum was 86
Will know more I guess when my sister
gets home later today .but I am sure they
have gone back down to sort the house etc
out as Wendy said something about emptying
the fridgefood so they could turn it off

Not sure yet Vicky what the brothers will
decide to do with the house ,but as you say
they can always sell it and split the profits
or even rent it as a form of investment confused2

Well its looking not so good here for tomorrow's weather
right now its 22f but feels like 14f ,and at the time
when everyone will be traveling to work or school
its going to start with what looks like ICE at first
then turn over to all snow before the day is done
with 2" to 7" accumulation so its not the AMOUNT
just the timing {Barbara coming on the bus ,and Blaine
having to go to work }Mad
Anyway I shall away
Hope your tummy settled Marge {BOND DO NOT OFFER HER
THOSE RASPBERRIES }
Morning Vicky whats on the agenda for today then?

Back later

Barbara was late but did get here Vicky
as her bus never arrived that she normally
takes
She showered Gil with my help as he is
getting to be a "two person" job ,like when
he was walking into the bathroom with her
holding his hand and arm ,he just froze and would
not move forward ,it's like his brain FORGETS how

While I ran to the bank ,( I let myself in with my bank card
to access the lobby area and ATM  machine )she then cleaned the bathroom
for me and does a good job of it ,she keeps asking what
other "projects " we can tackle ,so I said we will
do the spare room and my linen closet next
But the guy called today to say he wants to start my
kitchen counters ,but I have told him next week ,so he
should be here next Wednesday ,going to steam clean
the cabinets first ...

Oh I text Marge she had an upset tummy during the night
and then slept till noon when her cats woke her up
She just had some soup and crackers and will be in tomorrow
Thinks it was some raspberries she ate Sad

I am in bed now so nite nite xx

Well seems Derek's mum was waiting outside
to be picked up to go see her Dr with a friend
and she collapsed ,the friend and the post man
carried her inside and tried to revive her ,then
the Dr and Paramedics arrived, sounds to me like
she had a heart attack
Wendy said she is in the chapel of rest at the
hospital in Plymouth waiting on the paper work
They have had to send to get his brother home
as he is at sea ,don't know where
Wendy and Derek have to go back down to Cornwall
tomorrow and she said her son and DIL had Henry
for them
She said its not hit Derek yet

Well snows on its way .....Ummm where's our Marge
today confused2

Speak tomorrow run run run run run

Oh what a shock for Derek & his brother......they could sell the house and split the money,

We've been to Tamworth.....had nibbles at M&S and then went across to the "Dark Side" as we always call it......I went to Boots to get some shampoo, and looked around "Outfit" saw a lovely blouse which is like the pink one I've got only this was royal blue.... talktohand didn't buy, IF it's still there at the end of the year I might buy.

I'm watching the interview of the Queen......yes I saw the way the Queen pulled the crown towards her.

Yes Carole the boss has spoken....I do love my house I have to say BUT it's really nice down there......When I was talking to Susan I mentioned it because David said j"They come up here to get away from us" Susan said "Of course we wouldn't" then she said "We could put our money together and buy a big house and you and Dad could live in the East Wing" she then said "Matt's just said 'yes the east wing called the garden shed'" I said "He's getting too cheeky he is" Smile the other month they looked at a house which had a tiny door in one of the bedrooms going into the other part of the house, Matt had said "Oh your Mum would have just walked straight through, she wouldn't even have bent her head" Smile

Ok back later.

Morning Vicky ....well that was a shock
my sister just text me that Derek's mum
whom they just saw Saturday or Friday
just passed away ,so she was staying home
with Henry while he drove down to Cornwall
Derek's younger brother Brian is in the Merchant Navy
so not sure if he is home or at sea ,but that is why
they go down at least once a week when Brian is at sea
to check on her as he lives near her
As far as I know she was not ill
He lost his dad last year or the year before

Guess they will have to decide what to do with the house
now as it will belong to both sons so either they sell it
or one buys the others half ,but cannot see Derek doing
that as Wendy would never be happy living down there
as she is a CITY GIRL she would go , not like
me as I would enjoy the quiet life

So your BOSS has made the decision your staying in the Midlands
@ Vicky confused2
Have the bathroom set up for when Barbara gets here, you should see
the ice packs blocking up the rivers here affraid

Bond they have that clip of our queen interview about her coronation
crown on Good Morning America right now

OK be back have to go get dressed and put the washing in the dryer

Yes it's it down today so far. Benjie's gone out wearing his coat.

Cyrille Regis Bond.......gosh he played for Coventry City for a number of years....80's early 90's. I don't think he's that old.

Keep warm Carole.

Yes Bond you needed a good woman behind you.

Yes Susan is lovely though she doesn't think so......I said to David the other night "If we sold this house we could go down there....look at the lovely walks we could take Benjie on and it's a lovely place" but he said "I'm not leaving here, selling this place" Mad the family up here could come down for holidays but the boss has spoken.

Expect we'll be going out.....somewhere. confused2 if we love as though we're not going out Benjie starts to bark at us and going to his cage.....we have a dog who tells us to go out. Smile

Yes I had my star wars pj's on last night when you posted
It's a good program worth recording, the Queens see things that she has never seen before and, "well I never knew that ' when the crown jeweler brings in I a crown with white gloves on and puts it on the table the interviewer asks if it could be put closer to her majesty before he can r all do sh to just reaches over and drags it across the table

SO THERE you are Missy nono  was beginning
to wonder ....
Well guess we have a few MORE stores over here
then that you can find a "proper" wedding dress off the rack

Did I ever tell you that when I married Robert in 1990 ,being
as the last time I was  married was in 1959,everyone agreed
I could get away with wearing white again ,well I found this
lovely ivory wedding dress from the  J C Penny's catalog,
I will one day get down into the garage and find my album
so I can show you,but Gil is funny about me talking about
Robert before and even now  after he has passed
away so have to watch myself what I say

Ruth was my matron of honor and found a powder blue full length
gown and I made her a flower headpiece as I wore an ivory lace
one that attached to one side of my hair
We had a Friday night candlelight ceremony, and had about 15 people to
dinner at a local restaurant after before spending the night at
Marnicks on the seawall as its not only a restaurant its a motel
and faces Long Island Sound

Marge glad you enjoyed your evening ,its wonderful having
a close friend you can discuss things with ,Ruth was mine Sad
As to Melanie and Jim lets hope your decision wakes them up
as you have been MORE than generous and I know you and Peter
were BEFORE he passed as well Shocked

I wish I could help Spencer now as he is pulling his hair out
worrying about not having a job and now unemployment have
said they want to meet with him to go over his case on the 26th
so he is worried about that ,as I said if his car was paid off that
is about $4000 in August he would be better off as that is $600
a month ,he has never been late with any of his bills always
pays them way ahead of when due and its making him
over it
I down loaded a site today that will seek out jobs for him
again he said that is IF he can get hired not being a CERTIFIED
mechanic ,and he is not sure what other job he could find to do

I know all about Register weddings after we divorced Gil had two
and I saw pictures of him and his 2nd wife
And my Mum married my step dad on Much Park Street wasn't that
where it was back in 1951 confused2
I know you do not get given away and have to have witnesses
Mum did not even have cars everyone took the #21 bus
A day I shall never forget and regret her doing Mad

Anyway I have chatted enough, sleep well dear friends
Speak tomorrow its a BALMY 25f here right now but only feels
like 10f brrrrrr

Oh yes they're only samples Bond......Susan chose hers and it had to go to Australia to be made....and of course it had to go back and forth for nips and tucks she had to go in the have fittings, I think 3 in all and it took 12 months.. and you have to make an appointment to go in to the shop.

Gritters were out today as we came back from Leics.....seems they're expecting it to freeze tonight.   Not as cold as you Carole.

Yes I wore a suit for my wedding at the register office.....something I could wear often but some do wear wedding dresses......and yes there's a few stores over here where you could buy a wedding dress off the peg, we wanted her to push the boat out anyway.

Oh yes we heard about the  Hawaii scare.....honestly what daft bat pushed that?   THOUGH saying that years ago we had a "Warning"  scared me to death....it was a Saturday and I looked at David and I was thinking "How long will it take to phone the kids and tell them to get under cover, in a cupboard or somewhere then we could go in the cupboard under the stairs...... then it stopped.....we realised someone had made a boo boo.   PHEW!!!!      You remember that Bond?

Well YOU wouldn't be giving Sara away Bond, though I never had anyone give me away....you have 2 witnesses usually, you don't have "And who gives this woman away".....though you could drive some guests or his son & Best Man to the Regestry  David's Father picked me & my Gran up to take to the Registry.  talktohand  though at first when his Father asked how I was getting there I said "By Bus"   David's Mum said "You can't go on a bus"   I couldn't see why not   confused2 I was wearing a suit not a wedding dress,, my gran was wearing a really nice dress & matching coat as it turned out....though I hadn't seen it until my wedding day, I don't know where she got it or when....... anyway he said "We'll pick you up"  and they did.   So you could do that.    A Registry office wedding isn't like a church wedding Carole. you don't NEED to have a big posh car for everyone.....you can but you don't need to.

Nice to get all the same suits Bond.

And the dress is supposed to be a secret......a surprise on the day.. nono

Oh we've been to Leics.....the big Palmers, oh I saw this lovely statue....."Sigh"   got a birthday card for Helen.....wasn't one which said "Snap out of it you stroppy cow"  Mad   she's left her lovely husband telling bare face lies on FB and everyone on there is going "Oh you poor thing, he's a pig, no wonder you've left him"  A PIG he let you do what you wanted to when you wanted to for years, go off on holidays without the kids while he looked after them....she's chased "Take That"  staying in their hotel, same with Jenson Button and this pig of a husband has allowed her to and now she wants out....Mmm now where have I heard THAT.     Mad

Glad you had a good time Margaret and got in late....you stop out you Smile

Pleased to hear you're doing "Tough Love"  and about time sweety, we can keep paying and paying thinking we are doing the best when in fact we're not.....making them realise they've got to stand on their feet sometimes.

David takes my car out every week, just to give it a run.

Oh well back soon.

Sorry been nattering to on the phone......she phoned up "You've not phoned me to ages"

Got to bed finally at 12:30 last night after a lovely meal
over at Lorna's and a few drinks out on the patio at her
house.
Seems she has been depressed over Xmas and New Year
as she missed her husband who died nearly ten years ago
now. I said that most of the people I have spoken to said
they had a quiet Xmas too, not much to celebrate about
the old year as too many natural disasters and stressful
news from the head of this country every day.
Now we are into a new year that has no real promise ahead
of better days to come with this president.
We are just going to have to wait it out and see where this
is headed.

The only tool the people have is the ballot box.
There have been rumors that a lot of long term Senators
and Congressmen and women are not going to run for reelection
this November. They are going to take their pensions and run for
the hills!
We talked about a lot of things catching up with what is going on
with us, Found out that young Lynsey next door to me is pregnant.
and a couple who are leasing Lucie's house across the street are
hoping to start a family soon. the team are planning where and when
to hold our next N/H get together. We think it will be at Ross's house.

The Chows celebrated their anniversary by booking into a place in
Santa Barbara and had to make many detours to get there because
of the mud slides. They were on the road for over 4 hours on a journey
that usually takes two hours. They did have a good time though.
Lorna looked after their two aging dogs while they were away.

Not so bright sun today but still warm at 72f and 40% humidity,
tonight is supposed to be a low of 50f instead of the low 40s it had
been.
I am going to start Big Red as I have left him sitting in the driveway
since I left before Xmas. I think the battery might running low so
going to start him up and see what happens. I think there is enough gas in him to take him out for a tour around Torrance to recharge the battery.
There are enough large highways crisscrossing the city to get him up to the
legal speed limit of 45 mph and sustain it for a mile or so on a Sunday.
I think that is all the news from me except, I have made up my mind to inform
Melanie and Jim that I will not pay off anymore Credit Cards for them or pay
for Jim to have another session in rehab.
I feel they have not been entirely truthful with me and the cornerstone of
a 12 step program is to face the truth, no matter how it hurts and deal
with it. Its tough love time. TTFN

Hi Carole, it's on June the second, yes I'm the father of the groom but it's not like I'm walking down with the bride or up front, but if we do all get the same suits it's blue and I'm having a waistcoat as the mature one
No news as they are not back yet
So I'm putting the kettle on I've read my book until I fell asleep so I need a shot of coffee

Hi Carole, yes I thought the same but it's a white wedding dress they are looking for not the full length with train and head dress but a white probably off the shoulder number
One of the places they are going to look at is a Hospice shop Leamington way that specialises in bridal wear
Men will be wearing blue bought suits and it's Saras mum that's giving her away so I haven't much of a roll, may be a driver if needed

Morning Bond ,we have dropped 36+ degrees
since the same time yesterday morning and sit
at 14f with a wind chill of 1f right now and only
going up into the low to middle 20's
Once again can feel it in the house as its dropped
to 67f from the 71 I had it on yesterday
Of course for some reason Bridgeport always seems
to get the strongest WIND gusts  not sure if
its where we are located as they say in the "arm pit"
of Long Island but that is making it worse ,so have
the bath tap dripping again

Bond is Sara having a white wedding then ? thought
maybe being as its not in church she might be wearing
a "regular" dress for the ceremony
There are {well over here at least a lot of ready made
wedding dresses off the rack} just have to look for her size
Has Mrs B decided what color etc she wants to be in yet ?
and will YOU be wearing a rented mrbond  then ?

Uneventful night and Gil's pee looked a lot lighter
at 330am ,but did not last night at 6pm ,but he is certainly
getting weaker confused2
Will be curious to see what the blood work shows after they
come to take it Wednesday

Just cut up two racks of short ribs and put in my slow cooker
all you have to do is salt and pepper them then cover with
two cans of ROOT BEER soda  and cook on low for 7hrs
then drain the liquid and put the ribs back in with some BBQ sauce
and let cook another hour ,they should FALL off the bone cheers

OK so I shall be around not venturing far today .

BTW did you see the scare the people of Hawaii got yesterday when someone
pushed the wrong button sending out an ALERT that a BALLISTIC MISSILE was
imminent and to take cover and that "THIS IS NOT A TEST" and it took
30mins to issue a wrong warning issued ,people were panicking
running for shelters etc
I have a friend on Face Book that posted about it said she was panic stricken
as her kids were not at home
Hawaii just started a warning system because of whats going on
in North Korea etc

Be back
And GOOD MORNING LADIES

Good morning all from Atherstone a bit grey over here and it's cold
Mrsb is off with the ladies again today looking at wedding dresses
What I did not realise is that all the dresses in these shops are samples that you pick up he one you want and it's made for you in six to twelve months so they are looking at premade dress and once used ones or second hand
Breakfast and it's cornflakes and hot milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice

David went to Lanchester as well Margaret.

Well Mrs May invited him Margaret so he was invited by the Government.....though it was not going to be a State occasion.  Though Margaret it was going to be at first.....then the government down graded it.....which he wouldn't have liked.

Hope Jim gets his act together, it's got to be hard on Melanie though after what she's been though.

It also missed that they Marion & Lloyd had a daughter as well Carole.....I was just pointing out to Bond that they she was married when she had the twins.

I think I only had 2 records  Billy Fury "Half The Way To Paradise" and Cliff Richard "Livin Doll" I hadn't the money to buy records the cliff one I was still at school and I can't remember how I got it, maybe Margaret, my aunt  (Bob & Margaret had bought me the record player for my birthday or christmas one or the other and maybe Bob had bought me it.    Though 45's were cheap then.   Billy Fury lived in the same road as my cousin and he tied my pigtails to the lamp post.....years later when I saw him at a dance hall on stage I said to my work mate "I know him....he tied my pigtails to the lamp post"   after a while she said "He's spotted you.....did a double take" and sure enough every so often he looked my way with a puzzled look on his face I think he was trying to place me   Smile

Is Bond doing the drinks.....or shall I?

That's Lily Carole opening a Christening present

Oh Bond......Kirby met bandleader Bert Ambrose in her teens and, despite his being 42 years older and having an estranged wife at the time, began a relationship with him that lasted until his death in 1971. In an 2009 interview, she said she had had an affair with Bruce Forsyth during this time.   Brucie.  Nothing about Frankie Vaughn though    She did marry a policeman in the 70's  though it didn't last.....then she went to live with a FEMALE fan and they were going to get married until the fan got arrested for fraud or something.

Good evening all, well my story was more exciting with Frankie Vaughan
May be it was Frankie and Kathy Kirby?
Well it made a talking point
What's the next subject what about the story that Tom Jones was caught with Lulu in our local taxi office

Isn't that some of what I posted Vicky
all it was missing was her other son  confused2

Morning Marge ,I agree I understand that a
lot of what I am seeing with Gil now IS FRUSTRATION
this thing has taken everything away from him that
he was able to do in such a short time it makes your
head
But its also hard on those watching and caring for them
and he just does not SEE that headbanger

Glad you got things sorted with Ian on your card
lets hope all gets fixed between Melanie and Jim

Trump is an IDIOT cannot stand hearing him OR looking
at him ...

Vicky I cannot say I listened to a lot of music back then
first off there was not that much music on TV and once
I had Tracie its like everything changed
Gil bought a small suitcase type of gramophone and bought
a couple of records ,the last I remember was the Beatles
with "Love me do" on it that he played over and over while
getting ready to go to the pub that was in 1966 before we left
the UK in April of 1967
Also remember back then we were living with my Nan and Grandad
music was not something that was played I am afraid Rolling Eyes
My first 45 was Tommy Steel's "Cave man Rock"
and Bill Haley's Rock around the clock
but these I bought before Gil and I married in 1959

Ok I think I need a few winks

Shaping up to be a lovely sunny day here.
Its 63f right now going to a high of 74f.
humidity is dropping fast and no sign of fog
or mist this morning.
Got my change of credit card done on my Apple
account with Ian's help yesterday and we talked about
Melanie and Jim for a little while as we both feel that
they are not working their 12 step programs very well
at the present time.

Its based on being honest with yourself and others,
admitting when you did wrong and making amends.
Addicts have a hard time with this part as they have been
covering up so much for so long.
I won't bring it up yet but it will be brought up sometime
soon and it will cause hard feelings.
Its called "calling you on your shit!" in program lingo.
Even long time clean and sober recovering addicts get
swayed by the amount of recovery they have and slack off.

At least one good thing has happened for Melanie, she has been
accepted to a low income program by the company that makes
the biologic she is taking so she will only pay a minimum amount
in order to have it so that lifts one burden from me financially.
This is really expensive stuff like Peter's Betaseron was but he
did not qualify for their low income program.

The American invasion started in late 56-57 with the film
"Rock around the Clock" with Bill Haley and the Comets in
the UK . I did not collect 45s while I was at school.
It was only when I started working that I had enough money
to spare to buy 45 singles.
Peter taught me how the dance in my mothers front room and
we made up our own version of swing dancing as its called today.
We only had enough money to either go to see a film, go dancing at
the Lacarno, go out for a Chinese meal or dance at the new Police
station hall in Little Park street, so we only did one of these things
once a week.
Peter was a student at Lanchester College by then (now Coventry
University?) so mostly only saw him at work.

Got a full rundown on the US Embassy mess on CCN on my iPad.
Seems Trump was asked to come to the UK and officially open
the new facility and because he didn't like the fact that the Grovenor
Square place was sold because it was impossible to fit the equipment
upgrade needed in the old building. He declined to attend.
That would have not been a state occasion. But if he had been
invited by the British government That would have been a state
occasion but he was never asked!

It is not usual to invite a new President until he has been in office
a length of time enough for the British government to see which
way the wind is blowing on this side of the Atlantic.
Trump is getting it right in his face at the moment and he is slowly
sinking. Of course he denies now he ever used the words he did and
blamed it on the Democrats in the room for spreading the evil rumor.
He has had some of his own party starting to see where this is going.
I watched" Mr. Smith goes to Washington" last night.
Boy, was it on target about the back room deals and the corruption
in our government even though it was made over 60 years ago!

We have a universal remote here that operates five components
and Peter forgot which buttons to push for which item and got in a
fit about it. All he had to do was press 'help' and it would run through
each option and get him on track but he was beyond that when I found
out so had to turn it all off to get him to calm down. It was just one
of those days!
Its just frustration when they cannot do anything they are used to doing.
The brain or hands won't cooperate so they lash out.
We can't know what they are going through, no one can.

Didn't you ever listen to the radio though Carole?   OR any music programme on TV?  Once I got in with David, well ages before I met him, I never went dancing,  but I use to listen to the music on the radio.     David wasn't a dancer either.

Yes Marion Ryan had twins....Paul & Barry, they both became singers, took after their Mum, but after some years Paul packed in singing and Barry went solo, Paul carried on writing songs though I can't bring any to mind.

Went out to Fosse Park and David bought his Sweater.

Now where's Bond? Ah there you are....... She Married Lloyd Sapherson in 1948. They had twin sons, Barry and Paul (born Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, 24 October 1948), and one daughter. Paul died of cancer in 1992, aged 44. In 1969 she married the show business millionaire Harold Davison, after which she retired.[4] She died at age 67 in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. there you go so she was married.

Here's mum and the twins, it was the haircut that I remember them for as I had the same look, it was at the time that I had a scooter so after going to the hairdressers on a Saturday for a cut and blow dry I never wore my crash helmet as you didn't have to then it hadn't been made law back then

I remember so few of the artists back then as
after I married and I got pregnant for Tracie
3 mths later ,I seemed to exclude myself from "normal "
teenage things ,like I see people talking about dancing
at the Locarno?  ,NEVER set foot inside the place confused2
The only places I ever danced at was the church we married
in as they had a dance every Saturday and a couple of times
at Courthalds ,and under the street
lamp on Shuttle street or at my mates house on Weavers Walk
where we would practice  ♪ rock n rolling ♪
After I met Gil I never danced as he was not a dancer confused2

Are on about this lady having twins Vicky ? as it says nothing
of that only that she had a son Paul confused2

Cannot believe how FAST the temps are dropping down into the
40's ALREADY and was at 55f when I got up
Ah well  washingmachine  is CALLING my name first load in

Yes that's her Carole though like you she doesn't spring to mind, just have Marilyn Monroe of pop in my mindI know she had twins Paul & Barry who took up singing but Paul I think it was gave it up and just wrote songs and his brother went solo.....but I couldn't tell you the songs of either the Mum or the twins. I do remember the boys slightly

Yes it was Lily sitting at a table opening one of her Christening presents......this one is Lily getting Christened, hope you can see her ok....and the lady Vicar, who was lovely.
