Morning........it's been a wet morning but it's drying up.

That was David Margaret he went to the Lanchester and got his ONC and later on his HNC  he did 6 months working with a Company and 6 months at Lanchester, he'd just got his HNC when I met him.  He was a Civil Engineer.   So was Steve but he hated it.....he went to Bristol and hated that, until Mum stepped in and said to David "Just because that's what you wanted to do and loved it doesn't mean your sons will, Steve hates it let him do what he wants to"   he went to College to do IT and loved it and that's what he's doing.   Same with Rob when he got to be 16 he'd had enough of playing headball , he'd been playing since he was 8 and he'd just had enough, when the Manager came round for Rob to sign the contract I could tell he didn't want to, he picked up the pen, and read the contract again....he was doing anything not to sign,  so again his MUM stepped in "Only sign it IF you want to Rob" well David and the manager started .....and yes he was a brilliant player, when we went to watch Matthew one day this guy walking by said "Our you Rob Peachey's parents?"  we admitted we were, and he started going on about how good he was and we get this all the time, so I could understand the manager wanting him to sign but if the boys heart isn't in it  confused2  so he didn't sign.....and his Dad wasn't pleased.   confused2

Oh look at the time.....I'm off to

Hi all, yes I understand that now about the role but at 15 I wasn't looking much about the he future, but I did know I wanted a Apprenticeship and I had really picked painting and decorating, I hadn't got a job when I left school so it was a bit of a Panic interview but happy when I got the six year Apprenticeship in the end
John my son did think he all round Apprenticeship at Land Rover that gave him the knowledge to manage the reserch and develoment and final finishing departments

That's what Peter had to do at
AWA, a trainee/apprenticeship
program. 6 months in every department
and he was going to Lanchester Tec
to do his ONC and later his HNC.

The Americans didn't understand how
British engineers were so qualified
all round at such an early age.
I cannot quite understand how Peter
earned a masters degree by age 23
in two years!
(it was a degree from the College of
Aeronautics, Cranfield change later
to the standard degree).

There is a change in the weather coming
on Monday, its supposed to be HOT!
More so inland than near the coast but in the
high 70s to 80s. sunny
Its currently 63f going up to 68f humidity
stands at 76% . I had to have the fan
on low all night as you can feel the moisture
in the air as the temperature rises.

After Fridays little dash around I did not
get as much done as I had hoped but I keep
moving forward, some days like a tortoise and
some day like a hare.
Got caught up on the washingbasket
yesterday.
its back to paper stuffing again today, it
seems to multiply over night!
I am determined to get control over it all
so I can move on to something else.

I still have a few small Cadbury chocolate
hollow eggs left but rationing them to two
a day.(we are talking regular egg size).
I have been very good so far.
I also have a solid chocolate bunny about
3" tall but I am saving him until I have
earned a special treat(bribery is good
for the soul occasionally ).
The clock is running and I should be too.

confused2  But it was only for 6 months Bond.....and you'd see what went on on the shop floor level, learn.   That's the same as if you applied for a management job in say M & S you start serving customers on the cash desk/men's fitting rooms even helping out in their restaurants to get to know ALL the stores and how they're run.  confused2

Benjie & Nessie ......Benjie must be the one with his tail up his tails always fluffed up and in the air where as Nessie's tail is down..

Aarrr yes WH, Smiths has gone from off the shoulder bridge but I was talking about JC, Smiths, it was one of the first places I went for a job interview, I wanted a job in their display centre, window dressing, I in house signs, all signs were hand painted, but they wanted me to do first six months on the shop floor and I could see you being left out of jobs in the Design shop, I really didn't want a shop floor job
You can bring a pudding box if you can eat it at the time but sorry I managed the chocolate Sponge Brownie , chocolate sauce and ice-cream mrsb had a very light lime tart

Well back from Big Palmers nicely stuffed.

Years ago I voted for someone in some programme, a number of times Susan was also voting more times than me. They did win but I'm sure our votes made no difference. confused2 who ever it was, I just remember going "Yeahhh" when they won, David thought I'd only voted the once ......it's not cheap telephone those programmes....though now you can do it online.

Oh that woman in the book I'm reading.....talk about stupid BUT I'm also going "That was me" and seeing things I should have told him to take a hike....her best friend is saying "You're so into him you can't see it" Mmmm!!! yes. Mad

There lies the problem .one has to VOTE
in order to get someone through ,same here
when a young person tries out ALL their mates
etc will call in and vote so even if we say THE
OPERA should have won ,how COULD
SHE when no one called in ...
Back from shopping ,back later

OH and Morning Vicky

What a turn around!
Down 2-0 in first half and finish
3-2 up at the final whistle.
I have been sharing memories
about my High School days in
Coventry on another UK site
remembering teachers who made
a difference in our lives.
watched a little golf to see how
Tiger is doing. He won't win but
if he finishes at par I think he will
be satisfied.
Onwards and upwards.

Its a quick post this morning I am
afraid.
I am OK don't get me wrong but
my favorite match is on in a little
while between Man City and United.

Boy did I get a lot done yesterday!
Its all small stuff but it adds up
It went like this
Took BR and did ATM, filled up his
tank and went to the Post office.
Came home switched cars, Drug store
for another refill, went Grocery shopping
after which I went to another grocery
store( because mine has been out of a
brand of corn chips for two weeks).
went to the pet store to refill my containers
of kitty litter and the Hardware store!
If you wonder why I switched cars, its because
my store discount cards for the pet store,
drug store and grocery store are on BBs key ring!
My solar string lights have arrived but plan to take
it easy today and do some filing first.
The more that gets put away of this paperwork
the better.

They are closing Yosemite valley as of noon today
and all campers must leave by 5pm.
There is a heavy warm storm coming their way which
will melt a lot of snow and flood the Merced river
that runs through the valley. It makes sense to evacuate
all visitors now ahead of time and not have to deal with
with a mass evacuation under emergency conditions.
The Hikers and campers up in the higher levels of the
park will not be affected. Its only until the storm is
over and they can inspect the valley camp sites for
damage.
I don't know how the storm will affect where Melanie
lives as they are still repairing roads after the last
storm that went through but she will not be in danger
from floods at her house as it sits on an knoll overlooking
the New Melonie's lake. It all drains down hill.
Games on ! TTFN

Sorry I didn't get back in last night.......we were watching the cooking programme, (who do you think will will Bond? it's either going to be the blackburn girl or the young trainee doctor, the asian guy ....I like him and they seem too as well ) and then we watched other things we've recorded and then I was tired so went to bed.

I love ploughmans though I have to have ham and not cheese or branston because they upset my tum but not ordinary pickled onion confused2

Oh Carole that was terrible getting his dosage wrong I hope the doctor give them what for......that's dangerous. Mad Was that his pain pills or something else?

Well here I be ...Barb left and I decided
to call Dr's Liaison Jackie to speak to her
about Gil and these pills , well it seems
the pharmacy where Hospice get their
scripts from should have said he should
take 1/2 a pill TWICE a day which is 25mg's
and I gave him 50mg's TWICE a day Shocked
NO WONDER he's been acting LOOPY as Jackie
put it ....
She said she was going to speak to SOMEONE
about the mix up

Barb said his balance was ALL over the place
when she got him up so I could go pay the cable
bill

Vicky Gil has a commode/potty in the bedroom

Marge never let anyone tell you your not doing
a wonderful job

Bond that looks so cool ,guess we ALL love Ploughmans
I remember when I went home to stay with my dad
in 1978 on the way home from Heathrow we stopped
and I had my first one with a LARGE L & L ummmmm
will ALWAYS remember that

Having cod fish tonight
Weather report ....started snowing at 915am then turned to
by 11am and now its stopped but COLD 41f
and dreary

What a novel idea, I love pork pies.
nothing like that here except at the
English shop.
I also love Ploughman's as well, served
with a small cider -heaven!

Not heard back from Ian but he did mention
he had some voice over jobs this week.
I have made a list of everything I have done
since January and its a long one!
I'll bet every bit as busy as his list but I am
older than he is!
Its hard having so many deadlines to meet
but so far I have been able to meet them.
Put all my appointments on my calendar,
some stretching into June.

After a shopper to refill the fridgefood
I am going to find out why I show having 2 accounts
on Ancestry instead of one. I think one was through
Ancestry.co.uk and the other Ancestry.com.
the American one now has all of it on their site anyway.
He has no clue what I find on these sites that I would
pay money to keep looking at them.
(he thought it was a necessary expense to keep my
special TV service paid for so he and Rebecca could
watch the latest movies etc ,even though I never
liked it as it was full of grade B &C films)

It was Peters idea but I never saw the point.
They had it for a whole year before coming to the
same conclusion on my dime!
(It was a service streamed through Amazon so
it was available globally I believe).
I have more choice on my cable service, Spectrum.

The weather has picked up today, the sunny is out
once more and only a tiny bit of coastal fog.
Its still on the cool side, in the upper 50s now , going up
to 66f later. There is a heavy surf advisory in effect until
tomorrow so no fishing off the rock breakwaters!
Its surprising how many do it though.
If you can pay, its better to go out on one of the fishing
barges that work around here. Its not a lot of $$ but
you have to get up really early to go on one.(try 4am).

If you go over to Catalina Island you might see flying fish
or the orange Garibaldi fish which are protected.
There are always pods of dolphins out there and you might
see a few grey whales stragglers going back up north to
the Pacific northwest. Its not always about fishing.

My chores for the day are to post Ian's Birthday card
and the mileage survey I do each year for the AAA
car insurance. I might even get a discount this year!
Then its off to pick up another prescription refill at
CVS and down the road to the market.
I might even gas up Big Red as I have been using him
more lately now he is running better.
I might even be able to squeeze in getting him washed and
waxed.
Its time for breakfast here and take my pills for the day.
TTFN

Well been to the human groomers. .....all curly.

Mad Fancy Ian thinking he can bully you into anything Margaret.......we know better.

Shocked I'll just have a slice of the sponge Bond......it is a bit odd BUT if that's what they want then it's their wedding.

As for Bev I kept telling Sylvia Bev had changed she'd go talktohand "Nah she'll never change." it's true, her son Matthew told her off for phoning us and getting us to bring her home from the airport "MUM how could you do that?" "She's my friend and if you can't ask a friend to help you out who can you ask" she said to him. Yes if you're helpful to her then you're her friend....Sylvia was right.

Did you read what Margaret said about the potty Carole.....might help you.

Right we're off out.......later.

Pork pie and cheese wedding cake
Bond ,ummm I would try that, and I HOPE
you will take at the time to show us
I like different not saying I would do it for
my wedding day but hey each to their own right
or what ever floats their boat

Well I have been up since 420am would not give
Gil the 2nd pill before bed last night the way the two he
had taken were making him act all day ,and when Buddy
started to bounce on the bed wanting to be fed ,Gil also
started ,then after I settled the cat GIL started moaning
and groaning so I knew I was not going to get back
to Sleep so just got up tired and now I am in a
mood so no one better look at me today headbanger
Gave him a pill and will see how it makes him behave ,he was
just acting out of it all day yesterday Mad

Hope Vicky and Marge had a good night ,snow on its way
should be coming down just as Barbara arrives according
to the weatherman ,but changing to by this afternoon
and the storm that was supposed to bring a LOT of snow has
moved further out to sea so Saturday will be OK
Saying we should see a warm up next week when Tracie arrives
right now SHE has it at 71f at 530am
If it stayed like that I would move ,but I cannot take the heat
like they get down there

OK watch how you go people I shall be popping in and out during the day
run run

Some people just like the fact that they can get
away with mooching off someone else.
She needs a good

Ian and I are still a bit at loggerheads about
a couple of payments I am making to some
Ancestry sites. He sounded so stern in his
e-mail so shot back at him so now it sounds
like I am getting senile in his eyes.
He says it has to be taken care of next month
when the subscription runs out.

I pointed out that since January I have been busy
taking care of stuff here that is time sensitive.
Now I have all my appointments in place
(except the Termite inspection) I can look into
what he is talking about.
I think he is miffed that he cannot do anything about
it as he is not able to access the site but I can. :-D
I told him its none of his bees wax what I choose
to do with MY money.
One of my widow friends does have a money manager
who does all the financial stuff for her and she gets
an allowance each month. (she has a bigger estate
than I do and more children so it make sense for her).

I cannot see me doing that even if I could have money
whenever I wanted.
I sometimes think Ian treats me the same as he treats
Barry and Sheila who he thinks would be better off in
some old folks home. He forgets I am much more in
control of my senses and able to do more physically
than they are. They are still planning to travel down
to Provence this summer by themselves.
Its sounds like Ian has a lot of work lined up (mostly
voice overs) the next few weeks so he is checking up
on everything to make sure HE has not forgotten anything.
He does come across like a stuffy old geezer at times!

Carole, does Gil have a portable potty in a frame by the bed
and do you have those large waterproof bed pads ,they are
like 4'x4' ?  I used both with Peter 7 years ago when he
came out of hospital that time.( He might not have the balance
to use a portable potty but they do come with liners) so its
a quick disposal and he wore his boxer shorts to sleep in.
I also had a large quilted waterproof pad under the bottom
sheet and on top of the mattress so if he slipped off the pad,
it did not get on the mattress. It does tend to make them a
bit sweaty though. You could always try some cornstarch powder
as a daily thing after showers. ( NOT baby talc!)
Just  a suggestion anyway.
Weather is cloudy and overcast, it looks like rain. its also foggy
at the moment.
Lovely Chinese meal, always is when you have a buffet of
favorite things. A little rice and noodles with stir fry veggies and
some orange chicken, I also had a few Won Tons and some
unsweetened iced tea.
Tonight it is my meeting so better get moving here as there are
things I want to complete before I go. TTFN

PS, Carole, can you write and complain to the owner ?
Its shoddy work and you deserve better.

Well waiting on the girl to call me back as
she needed to "speak with her boss" ,seems
the one {I thought they replaced BOTH lens}
last February and what I paid $116 for ,is now
a THICKER lens so it should not happen again ,
but the right lens is the original from 2016 and
a lot thinner and that is why she is trying to
tell me its cracked ,now my argument
is going to be ....WHY then did the left lens CRACK
after only a YEAR ,and WHY has the left lens now
decided to crack AFTER TWO YEARS ,and if my
lens are too THICK for this FRAME then WHY sell
me it saying it would FIT ,I know my lens have to
be thicker because I never had the lazy eye operated
on ,BUT they can also shave down my lens as the other
place did and fit them in a frame so they don't look
like I have GOGGLE EYES Shocked
talktohand No not on whats happening for sure

Hello Bond see your back on duty ....

No that would never do Evette spending her OWN ££
om something SHE may want silly woman not sure
whom I feel like Bev or HER

Heard from Barb seems she is still at home but plans
on coming back here tomorrow confused2

Hello can you hear Carole....... you tell them Carole, it's not on they should do their job.

Bev has talked Evette out of buying this house Evette had a look around "She'll be back on benefit" and THAT wouldn't suit Bev. the more Bev said the more my mouth fell open though I kept trying not to show my thoughts. Mad

Benjie does look posh Bond.

Cute avatar Vicky
.....regards the urine jug/bottle
have had one for MONTHS ,use it at night
when he has to get up to go ,but some times
during the day or early evening before I go into bed
he needs to do something "other" so we always go
into the bathroom JUST in CASE as I have been THERE
DONE THAT with him before Shocked headbanger

Well I am SO mad right now I could SPIT >>>>>
Ever since I picked up my glasses with the new lens in
I have felt like there was a piece of hair at the very top
on the OTHER lens this time ,kept cleaning them but was still
there and when you wear glasses 24X7 you can see every little
mark and where as it may not bother SOME people it drives
ME
So this morning I got my old glasses out and LOOKED close ,and there
is a crack ,the Dr's don't open until 10am so just got Gil
up washed dressed and fed and I am marching back up there headbanger headbanger

Never again will I use this place ,as I mentioned I always went to Lenscrafters
never had a problem ,but this place is closer to home so thought
it would suit ......NOT !!!!

Oh my ,Bev will wipe Evette out the way she is going .she is like a
LEECH

Anyway be back later off to

Could they give you a urine bottle Carole? you know the sort they have in hospital when a guy is bed ridden confused2 That would help.

talktohand Oh Bev headbanger .....just after Christmas Evette gave her some money and the other day she gave Bav some money.....it must have been a lot because Bev said "Anyway I've put a hundred pounds of it into a different account, that's my spending money......so I bought 3 bags" she gave me 2 of her old bags which I put straight into the bin when I got home....they weren't good enough to give to charity. Shocked

Love this avatar of Benjie leaning on Matt's legs.

Later.....though they've not phoned yet. confused2

Ahhh glad your OK Vicky
No the nurse had suggested leaving them
off and him wearing his regular shorts as
she thinks its the moisture causing his
problems down there ,as they keep everything
in .....as I said he is NOT incontinent, but sometimes
he waits too long to call me to say he needs the waitingloo
and he cannot run any more ,so things happen confused2

Have the biggest load done and in the dryer so only a small
load washingbasket  of whites to do later ....

sunny  shining brightly right now but OH boy is it cold

Bet Benjie  will be  once he gets home
I know Saba used to run around more or less saying
"look at me all "purdy" again funnytvprog

Looks like Trump is governing the  single handed
sending in soldiers to guard the border ,saying we are
pulling out of Syria {what was it he said months ago that
he would never BROADCAST what we were going to do }
which in part I agreed with as us announcing what the
country  would be doing to terrorist just gave them a heads
up confused2

Anyway better move along before I get Gil up and my LONG
day begins ...back later

Oh you never said whats up with Bev these days

I'm fine today thanks .

Yes it's a lovely day Bond......we're waiting now for the groomers to call to say Benjie's been done.

Didn't Gil have his pads on Carole? Hope you'll be able to get your head down for half an hour or so anyway.

What do you think about that 78 yr old who stabbed that burglar with the burglars own screwdriver and he's been arrested Bond? Yes ok the burglar died but it could have been the 78 year old who died or his disabled wife. No sorry those guys (there were two of them) shouldn't have been breaking in. This countries too soft soapbox Opps I'll climb off ....some how. confused2 BOND.

Morning Bond had to scroll back n forth
this morning as you wrote such LONG
sentences on a line

So leading players again @ ,they keep you busy

Yes hope Vicky is feeling OK this morning
and that Marge enjoyed her meal out at
the Chinese Pavilion

We have had strong winds   blowing all night
and the temps with wind chill are way down
only feeling like its in the 20's in places
Going to be a sunny  but cool day ....

Up early REALLY early as had a leg cramp at 4am
then Gil needed to pee so that was me eye eye
WIDE AWAKE .....
Gil had an accident last night so had a load of washingbasket
to do so thought might as well get up and get it going washingmachine

Tracie text me last night ,I think she had looked at the weather
forecast for Connecticut and seen my concern ,so asked what
about trying for the 15th ,which I said good and that MAYBE
Mother Nature will have settled into a Spring format by then ,altho
listening to the weatherman not so sure confused2  but at least
I will not be worried with her :driver:  up into this snow and wet
weather we are expecting ....

OK better get on Blaine should be up soon
