Howdy doody Marge ,I have the brown transition
lens on these progressive glasses ,I prefer that to
the grey that I could have gotten when going outside
in the sunny
The lady at Walmart where I got these from this time
said to remember to look at everything nose front not
to try looking sideways ...seems to be working so far

One of the reasons my marriage went belly up and Gil
dragging us over here was to get away from living with family
we were OK when we rented in Bolingbroke Rd ,but when
my Nan talked us into buying HERS and Grandad's house on Purcell Rd
{as they would not be around much longer and with Grandad
retiring from the Ordinance it would be a good deal for us}
every thing went wrong
Nan did die the February the year we left in April of 1967
after only owning the house for 3 yrs &
Grandad about 4 years later ,as after Gil wanted
to emigrate we sold the house to my Mum and step dad
ANOTHER BIG mistake but it was too late by then the damage was
already done .....

OK Barb gone and Gil now playing the marter ? I did ASK
if he wanted to eat when I got home at 11am he said NO
now he is acting like we were out here "TALKING" as he puts it
while he wanted to now EAT headbanger

Back later run run run

The transition glasses can take a bit of getting used
to, especially going down stairs as you tend to be
looking through the reading part instead of putting your
head down.
I love mine for driving and running errands but not for
working on the computer or on my iPad.
I wear "readers" from the drug store for that.

Weather is gradually picking up here.
Its 62f at the moment going to a high of 65f today,
it says partly sunny but right now its clear
as a bell and sunny
Humidity stands at 77% and there is only a 30%
chance of rain showers in our area.
By Monday (Memorial day) it should be a little
warmer.

Only 3 long time members at our meeting last night.
(this tends to happen if people were hoping to get away
for the holiday early this morning) The rush hour
traffic this afternoon on the Freeways will be as bad
as it ever is. LAX will be at capacity until late tonight.
That's why us veterans stay home, its a case of
"been there, done that" too often.
It does however signal the start of the summer season
in Southern California.

Had a restless night myself last night, I did go over board
with fruit on my cereal yesterday morning , along with
half a banana I had some blueberries and raspberries.
I only buy ones grown in the USA and are organically grown.
The same with the apples I eat. No reg lettuce at the moment as
its causing an outbreak of E,coli in some states and it seems
to stem from an area in Arizona. So only butter lettuce for now.
That is grown Hydroponically so no soil involved. It comes with its
roots still attached so it carries on growing after you get it home
in its little plastic case.
I could no afford to do this for a whole family but I buy in such
small amounts these days and it lasts me for a week at a time.
I also I ate some cheese as a late snack and I am sure
that did not help either!

My parents rented a house not far from my Dads mother and it caused
lots of arguments at my house as she was always butting into things
that were not her business to begin with.
I am so glad that when Peter went to Uni at Cranfield we were 50 miles
away from each set of parents!
No phone & no cars made for a quiet life!
must away as time is galloping today. TTFN

Shocked Well will be a while to get used to them
but think I will be fine

Once more Gil has opted to stay in bed ,and was
in fact complaining about his legs hurting when Barb
was washing him so will bring this up to his nurse who
is coming again today ...

Humid here at 82f ...

Did not know Susan and Matt found a house  Vicky
I thought they were moving into that ladies house ?

Well done to Mathew with his exams and I don't blame
Rob not wanting to buy near his EX ....white dress @
I got remarried to my 2nd husband Bob in an ivy colored
wedding dress people said as it had been over 30 yrs
since I first married Gil it was acceptable ,whats HER excuse

OK Barb getting ready to leave and Corine has not arrived yet
thought she was coming around 11am so I could catch 40
guess that is not happening Rolling Eyes

I see Marge logged on so will away

Back later

Well it was wet when I went to the hairdressers ....did a good job though.

The kids came after school waiting for Rob,  Matthew did his first GCE's yesterday. Math's....it's in 3 parts, his next exam is on the 7th June,  he's taking them a year early.....The Witch has her dress for the wedding, it's a WHITE wedding dress.

We were telling Rob about the new build we'd looked around for ideas ....Rob was "Oh yes....sounds interesting"   we said "Of course they're still building near Sharron's, you could live near her"  Laura was "Ohhhh yes and then when they have a row I can come to you"   I don't think Rob was keen on that idea, not Laura coming round but living next to The Witch. funnytvprog

Susan & Matt should be moving into their place around August....though the builder won't be starting until September, BUT it'll be fantastic when it's finished......though the house they're leaving is a really lovely place BUT this one is in the place they wanted, and they will be able to do the house as they want to do.....they will be putting their own stamp on it.

Do you mean the Clfton Suspension Bridge Bond built by Isambard  Kingdon Brunel ?    Bristol Bridge indeed.   Mad    Have you taken the kids to SS Great Britain?  Do if you haven't.....built again by Brunel

I'll try that out when I've got my appetite back.

Good luck with your specs Carole I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Good afternoon all, its been very wet here with local flooding on some roads
Vicky when you get your full Back you will have to try the Chase a senior meal, smaller portions but two courses £4:49 or add £1for three courses, I had root veg soup, cod, chips and peas, with warm chocolate fudge cake with a scoop of ice cream, £5:49
Very nice, they have done the place out so its tidy or more tidy than it was
JESS told me last night he was holiday home work is something invented in victorian times and as she has just been over the Bristol bridge it looks like Ive got to get the cardboard and string sorted
So it's hot drinks this side of the pond and I'll do a large L&L for Carole and the coffee pot on for Marge

morning tired tired this morning once
again Gil had a "funny" night but not the funnytvprog
kind
Woke me at 130am saying he needed the waitingloo
then it was every HOUR that he woke me with his
TALKING ,,,TALKING ....TALKING headbanger
sometimes just above a whisper but so I could hear
him and have NO IDEA what he was talking about
I feel like a bear with a sore head this morning Shocked

Had a text from Liz she has got cancer and starts low grade
chemo  of her lung at some hospital ,says she feels better now she
KNOWS its actually cancer but at the same time is scared Shocked

Just re read her text she will be going to Guys Hospital
that's London is it not where my Dad died ,he went in
for something and died from a bleeding ulcer they could not
stop in 1990 Sad

Anyway today after Barb gets Gil ready I am off to pick up my
glasses hope I can wear them as Tracie said she could not being
what they call :Progressive lens; no bifocal ,,Tracie has what
they call Mono contacts where one eye is for distance the other
for reading and both eyes learn to work together ,she LOVES them confused2
All I know about mine is the lens is made into three parts with no line
or something like that will find out soon enough

80f here again today 87 inland ,and looking now like Memorial day
may not be a wash out after all for all the BBQing people will be doing

So will just say GOOD MORNING EVERY ONE

Stay dry Bond and Vicky your gardens will be happy remember nono

back later run run run run

Well thank you madam ,I have tried
my best with whats here and only "my" labor
to do everything
Have to laugh as my friend Ness {Vicky you
remember her } said on FB that she wanted me
to go organize her new garden in the Adirondacks
up State New York where they will be heading soon
from the condo in Florida  ...wish I could
being out there brings me such peace its hard to explain confused2

Well once more my husband decided he wanted up at 230pm
I told him he had better knock it off as he has an aid come
to do all this to give ME a break ,& so now I had to get him up
no easy feat, dressed and transported into the living room
where he is like a person with an ITCH up his rear end, up
and down on his chair reaching for his tea  from the
LAYING down position knowing he CANNOT confused1
it like THAT headbanger

Your right about the old saying Marge that the Lord
does not give us more than our shoulders can carry ,so
I think it MUST be something to do with the year {1942}
as its happening to us BOTH affraid

Glad you got the recipe ,and no problem as you said there
will be a time you can make them they are so EASY and only take
two  ingredients really confused2
I am with you I HATE wakes and memorial services crying

Ahhh how sweet that Jagger did that ,maybe they sensed that
you NEEDED a easychair  as well tired
Like me I tried to go lay with Gil after mowing the lawn
and getting dinner ready ,but THAT only lasted 20mins
and having to get up just put me into a TERRIBLE mood

Anyway soon be time to put the feed bag on these days its getting
easier to feed Gil than let HIM do it himself Rolling Eyes

Vicky I can HARDLY MOVE in MY CLOSET rollingpin
PLUS LAST CHERRY

Bond why I do not like cats being outside

LARGE L & L please Bond

Yes, I did get the recipe Carole but Lorna
said to hold off doing it until we get some other
dishes on the potluck list.
I am sure if I don't make them this time there will
be other events such as July fourth when I can go
hog wild with it! Smile

Last night at Chicago for Ribs was like going home
as they used to have a place not far from where
they are now many years ago but got put out
of business by a large chain BBQ place
which ended up leaving anyway.
The inside is decorated in the Prairie style so
famous in the 20s and 30s here.
Its a bit above our normal price range but well
worth it once in a while.
I had a small tri-tip steak with onion rings and
their heavenly baked beans.

Lorna just called to ask if I was going to Stu's
memorial service today. We both dislike going
to them as it is too emotional.
They have moved the service to the larger
sanctuary because so many are going anyway.
We don't know how long the service will be
and Lorna has to be back for crossing guard
duty by a certain time.
We have decide to send cards and go in on
some flowers.
I think I will stay at home and keep an eye on all the
other empty houses of the folks who are going.
( a favorite target for thieves )
Community service is a good way to remember Stu
as he and Nancy were involved in many through
their church.
I was not personally close to either of them but
know that Nancy will have many of her church
ladies to  check up on her and we will be there
if she needs anything.

Its another May Grey day here and some places inland
have had showers but not locally yet.

YesterdayJagger behaved in a way I have not seen
before. I was half laying on the sofa looking at my iPad
and first Tabbitha  came and sat on my lap closely followed
by Jagger who walkedup on my chest and flopped down
with his face touching mine and just lay there!
They both ended up curling up and going to sleep that way
while I was looking at FB and I did not have the heart to disturb
them. Needless to say ,I had a little nap also!
He has never done that before in all the years I have had him.
I did manage to take a selfie  of us both with the iPad but he
did not like being photographed so as soon as it went click
he jumped off.
I look like a wreck (as I do most mornings) but I had to do it
as it may never happen again.
I think they felt how stressed I was after the weekend from Hell!

That's just how life is sometimes and you get passed it and move on.
I went to the big box pet store near me to get more canned cat food
and said to myself "why am I buying all these little cans and having
to shop at least 3 times a week  for them?"
So bought them by the case!   There are 24 cans to a case so
bought 3 of their favorite flavors and that should keep them going for
at least a month!
I do not normally buy in bulk as there is nowhere to store them at the moment.
A small bag of kibble lasts a few weeks so not too bad. I cannot even lift
a 60 lb bag of kibble! The insects would get into it before it was used up.

Got a couple of errands to run so taking Big Red as I am also taking him
tonight. BB has two   birdy poops on my back window so I guess its
back to the carwash tomorrow.
Its always something!!!    confused2

They say that God never gives you more than he thinks you can handle.
In my case, my Higher Power has a wicked sense of humor!
TTFN
PS. Carole you have turned that bare space into a lovely garden.
You have a green thumb like Lorna!

No Bond not so much washingmachine  just
very disturbing and now after he said he wanted
a shower today when Dede the male Aid came
he said no and so did not want to go out on the deck
as we had planned for an hour in the sunshine
despite him complaining about being fed up as he goes
no where confused2  opted for a bed bath and to stay
in bed AGAIN headbanger

So I went out and mowed   ♪ me a meadow  ♪ as the
♪ temperatures rising and I certainly can ,can can ♪
up to 77f already at 1145am
Came in and made Gil a ham sarnie and myself but where
as he likes his plain ,I had a slice of cheese tomato and some
lettuce on mine ,so nummy to my tummy right now

Yes you should get some recognition  on your art work Sir Bond
who knows maybe some commissions in the future as well
to brighten up a few boring fences

Ok so will sit and wait till the girls arrive ...... back later

Morning Bond OH MY what a night
After Gil called me into the living room at 730pm
and saying he needed the waitingloo  he almost
had us BOTH on the floor trying to walk the few feet
from his chair to there as his brain was just not
telling his legs to move ,so I got his wheel chair that
we use to take him into the bedroom and managed
to get him into the bedroom and into bed ...
Blaine came home shortly after and helped pull him up
further on his pillows where he began to mumble on and off
saying he felt like he was dying Mad ,once again he was wrong
as he is still here this morning ....but each day now seems
to be getting worse... Shocked

Weather starting in the 60's going up once again to 80f
so may have to put the A/C on later as it was getting uncomfortable
in bed last night even having the overhead fan AND the stand up
fan going

Got a call yesterday that my Progressive lens new glasses are ready
to be picked up cannot go get them until tomorrow when Barb
will be here ,just HOPE and  they are ok
as never had them before ,Tracie has Progressive contact lens
and says she LOVES them ,so no more bifocal glasses

Hope everyone had a good night .....did you get the spare ribs
recipe Marge confused2

Be back later enjoy your day in or out Bond

Laying in bed saw you replied Vicky
Gil has the incontinence panties that have
the padding inside ,they are like men's briefs
and better than the ones they had in the nursing
home that wrap around with tape on the sides
to secure them ,THOSE they do pee through
the legs opening as they tend to gap open if not
tight enough ....I

As to Saturday the boys cannot handle him alone
not just going to the loo etc or watching how he eats or
drinks but understanding what it is he is SAYING
So I will be tagging along ,he does not REALLY MEAN
That I cannot go as Barb said when he was trying to
tell his therapist he was going to the bar Saturday
she said he was grinning ear to ear .....THAT'S
MY GILLY BOURNE coming out
Sleep tight

What about the incontinence panties you wear with the pads Carole? Does he have those as well?

Oh I hope he manages to get out on Saturday.......and if he just wants to be with the boys then bite your tongue and step aside, he most likely will THEN ask where you are......so the next time you'll be able to go as well, but what ever he wants to do on Saturday go along with it. please please Carole.

Ok it's that time so nighty night gang.

you ....also about Jim cheers

Corine Hospice Nurse been coming again Friday
as Gil's oxygen was low again today ,have him on it
now while he is watching TV and of course he is on it
all night barring the times an invisible person comes
in and takes the tube out his NOSE as I have found
them at times IN HIS MOUTH ,or COMPLETELY OFF
his face ,and he will say I DID NOT DO IT confused2

And Vicky OF COURSE he is wearing the incontinence"diapers "
he just pees so MUCH when he does go that he goes right
through them
Corine bought me a packet of ten bed sheets today
but is ordering me a box of 6 or 8 she is not sure
now THESE I told her I would take as I have to strip
the bed every time he does this ,I am also from now
on putting one UNDER the sheet as well as the one he
lies on ...and yes he is getting worse ...

Told me two days ago I cannot go with him and the boys
Saturday as its JUST FOR BLOKES Corine scolded
him laughingly saying you don't want your wife to go with
you after she looks after you all day ,his reply "NO" confused2

They have told me at the Dr's office if he wants a beer at THIS
stage to give it him ,I doubt he will be able to drink it any way
anything without being "thickened" he chokes on if he drinks it too fast
like you normally would do ,he cannot seem to grasp that
he cannot drink liquids like he used to or eat food with out it
being cut up very small and have liquid on it nothing dry
,cannot thicken his as he would not drink it though so have to watch him
when he drinks that confused1

Anyway we made 81f here ,I have showered and so will be away to lay
down until its time to bring Gil into bed at 10pm

Speak tomorrow xxxx

Talk about the plans of mice and men!
Had Ian call me over an hour ago and just got off
the phone with Melanie!
Both said "just checking in on you".
Ian is between auditions and so is cleaning
up his vast 12 month garden again.
Melanie had the swamp cooler on the blink and her
washing machine gave up the ghost.
She also tells me that Jim is finally on a small dose
of an antidepressant and has started meds for high
blood pressure. She says its already working so
she is a lot happier.(so is he)
I am finally recovered from my weekend from hell.
I had 2 Tylenol with a drink of Ovaltine last night
and wore Peters dressing gown and slept like a baby!
Tonight its BBQ ribs place just down the road.
Did some shopping last night but they did not have enough
of the canned cat food my cats like so its out again today.
to stock up.
I would like to get my hair trimmed today if I can as its
sticking out at all angles as it grows out.
Both cars are gassed up so no inflated gas prices for me
over the Memorial weekend here.

Our city had its annual Armed Forces Day Parade here
over last weekend. Its one of only about a dozen places
that still has them in the nation. We have a lot of Defense
contractor companies in Southern California so a lot of
local bases and National Guard send troops and equipment
for the parade.
There are even small banners displaying photos and information
about Torrance Veterans on each lamp post lining the route.

Weather is still overcast here, we refer to it as "May Grey".
It is supposed to improve by this Memorial Day on Monday.
The usual suspects are trying to plan a get together sometime
soon.
Carole, I thought I would try your Rib recipe for a slow cooker
if you can send it to me please. I am tired of being the salad
lady. (I can do that as well but a smaller version.)

Now I have to go and take a photo of the model of the F18
Hornet we have here as Melanie wants to get a small tattoo
of it to remember her Dad by. I also have to take a photo
of my 4ft garden gnome for Ian.

You do know that we who wed on the 19th of August are meant
to have a long life together?
Danny and Jennifer were married on our wedding anniversary
8 years ago. (one of Ian's pals ).
Must away and start my day here, Lots to do but its all good.

Isn't Gil wearing incontinence pads Carole?      He's really poorly though.

Of course Susan & Matt got married the day before.....not the day before we got married Smile  no their date was the 18th.  David mentioned it in his speech.

Like the flowers Carole. that's nice of him buying you flowers for Mothers Day.

Hi all, lovely avatars ladies, yes I got it all done plus odd bits, thats always the same with Mary just as you think you are about done its just could you have a look at this or could you give me a hand with this, but I did have a lovely ploughmans at lunch and strawberries and cream in the tea at three time, it must be hard for her on her own so she makes a list of things for me to do on the he day or days Im there, she has one son in Australia and the other is just getting over mouth and throat cancer so not able to do much not that she likes asking him as he is a very busy worker, one of the ideas is to build a cabin at the back and side of his house for Mary

78f here at 1pm after the early morning rain
Well after I posted first thing
my husband had another accident so had to strip
the BED AGAIN including the mattress topper headbanger

THEN as he had not been in four days

I felt like I had done 1/2 a days work before 730am Shocked

Then Barb came got Gil washed etc but he AGAIN wanted
to stay in bed ,the therapist did his arm stretching there
and will be back next week
I told her I have now noticed his left hand and arm are starting
to act like his right one that does nothing as he is having
problems picking up things Mad

Popped to the store real fast while Barb was here ,Gil is now napping Sleep
waiting on the Hospice Nurse while I feel like easychair tired tired

this morning with a TERRIFIC flash of lightening
then a BOOM that sounded like it was on top of
the :house: ...rained as well but that should stop
over the next few hours and in comes the sunny
with the higher temps {like the sun but not the heat}

Hope you manage to get what your doing done before
any precip gets you then Bond ....

Brought Gil back into bed at 9pm last night ,bit of a
restless night as well with him again so I am tired tired
this morning

Blaine has been helping me get him into bed this last week
as they have told us having the oxygen on he needs to be
propped up so Blaine can lift him where as I cannot as he
still makes himself feel like a block of cement when ever
I try to lift him up and tends to SLIDE down the bed a LOT
remember the nurses in the hospital having to lift him on a sheet
between them to get him back to the head of his bed ,
but last night I put him in alone as Blaine
had come home saying he was tired Sleep and fell to sleep early

Ah well its another "over the hump" day so away I must go

Ahh and a little bird told me my granddaughter  Chelsea
has set her wedding date ......8/19/2019 ...not told ME yet

I am up now after worrying about Bobby all day
yesterday and thinking Lorna was REALLY mad at me,
I finally took the bull by the horns and phoned her.
She was out so left a message on her answerphone.
I got a call back later telling me that as she was
talking to me, the little snot was across the room
looking at her!

She says he probably went into deep hiding when
the girls showed up on Saturday for the pack walk.
She also said he has done that to her many times
when she knows he is in the house somewhere
and he won't come out even for his food (he eats
everyone else's)and slinks back into hiding.
We talked for a little about her trip to see her
adult step daughter who is having marriage
problems but will hear more when we go out for lunch
later this week.
After I put the phone down I poured myself a large
glass of wine and tried catching up on all the sleep
I lost this weekend.
I only just now woke up tired
Luckily, I don't have a lot to do today starting with the
five light bulbs that burned out over a couple of days because
of a fault in a connection on my power pole going to the
house below me.
I have some washingmachine to do and need to go and get
more canned cat food for the bottomless pits living here!
Found out that a new series of the American" Who Do You Think
You Are" is starting next Monday on TLC channel at 9pm PDT.
I love watching these type of programs but it takes a professional
researcher to know where to look and how to find things that fast.

Not all the UK parish records are online yet and the Americans
can access their newer census records than the Brits allow.
The Birth, Marriages and Deaths are completely up to date but
am having to wait for the 1921 UK census until 2021.
In the mean time am searching the national register taken in 1939
in the UK of the total population as they feared they would not
have the staff to do it if the war continued past the 1941 point
or they were invaded by Germany. Its been a while though as
I have had so many other things going on here.
It is an incentive to get a few things done each day so I have time
to
Slightly less overcast here today but temps are about the same as
yesterday, its 64f now and that is also the high for the day.
Humidity is going down again, its only 66% at the moment.

All the chaos and stress of Bobby going missing has me
exhausted at the moment but a large hot mug of sweet tea,
some breakfast and pills and vitamins will revive me. TTFN

 someone call me ?

Well this time it was almost 2 hours till some
stupid State worker picked up ,long story short
said its at the State capital office as its a "SYSTEM
ISSUE" and they have to correct it ,  YES some
one SCREWED UP and KNOCKED me out of the SYSTEM headbanger
Told her about the copay and how my Dr would not give me
the Thyroid scan ,she said I would get reimbursed, but not
NECESSARILY in THIS coming check {June 3rd} ,so I said
and then what do I tell my bill collectors confused2
The request was sent up on the 15th according to her
so guess I just have to wait headbanger

Bond I can READ your MIND

Here you go Bond
the pictures show the many trails and there is a Tower
that a young girl photographer took shelter in as she was
up there taking pictures last week when the Tornado
swept through ,she got a GREAT picture of it as it approached
Hamden and the park {not on here though} as this is an old site
I found ,she said she was scared Shxxx less and was so happy
to find her car was where she left it undamaged when she got down

https://www.yelp.com/biz/sleeping-giant-state-park-hamden

there was a better web site but the address was too long
for our page did not want Vicky  ME

Marge is a tad late ,Bond put another  on that
should wake her up .....

Be back later and please pass the cherries ....SPIT>.>>>>>>>funnytvprog
