morning  Bond I don't know
seems "someone" has something against
ME Sleep  at night
Gil had me awake at 230am ,TALKING....
and talking NONSENSE at that headbanger
then Buddy started at 330am ,so kicked him out
the bedroom .... Buddy not Gil

Now Blaine just got up at 530am saying HE never Sleep
all night ,so is going in late, and its SNOWING close to us

Not SUPPOSED to be much headbanger

I was thinking of going  back to bed after Blaine
leaves ,but guess that is off the table now

Only GOOD news is my daily lotto number { clock # from U.S. Baird}
came out BACKWARDS  so 6 4 9 came out 9 4 6
which for $1 will gain me $42.50c    of course it would
have been better had it come out straight ,then it would have been
$292.50c ,but beggers cannot be chooses so they say

Anyway another  washingbasket  to do today  so away I shall go
Back later

LOVE your Avatar Bond BTW
GOOD MORNING LADIES

Good evening all, we didn't go to Tamworth In the end as we were a bit late getting away so we went the other way to Hinckley, as most town today alot of charity shops, it was market day so that was a nice change, some stalls we don't see, but most of the time it was charity shops looking for books,. Mrsb found a very nice lead black leather shoulder bag, with a Italian name and nice tooling around the edges it also had a very clever chain and clasp inside to hook your phone or purse onto all for £4:99

Funnily enough aeronautical engineering
was not Peter's first choice either.
he was good at mechanical drawing and
math so when he graduated from Boarding
school in Germany and his dad got posted
home again he could not deal with his
dads drinking bouts and anger problems
(PTSD) so looked for a way out.
His dad had known of another retired RAF
officer who was in charge of a drawing
office at AWA in Coventry.so that's how
Peter ended up in Coventry!
He was waiting to be the right age to
sign up for the RAF as a pilot( he was
only 17 then) He met me but still had
the desire to fly so applied at least 4
times that I know of.
He did not pass the eye test and in those
days glasses were not allowed.
He did not know how bad his eyesight was
until one day in class he got there last and
had to sit at the very back of the class and
borrowed his mates glasses to read the board!
It was a revelation but he was self conscious
about wearing glasses so would not tell me.
Until I caught him out one evening walking
round the City center and he could not read a
shop sign which must have had letters two feet
high from across the street.
so off to the eye Dr. he went and got glasses!
He always made the best of what life threw at
him so if he was not destined to be a pilot, he
would be the best engineer he could be instead.

At Cranfield he did go solo as part of his private
pilots license but could not get enough hours in
because of the bad winter we had in 62/63.
Because he was in the Aeronautics department
for his field of study that included flying
the college Austers.

I was a tortoise yesterday, I guess it was just relief
at getting all those errands done.
I have learned to roll with it instead of fighting it.
I feel a little more ready to rock & roll today

It is supposed to top out at 80f today, its 64f right now.
Forecast is for clear skies and bright sunny all day.
Tabbitha was having fun a little while ago watching two
squirrels playing around in the back garden. It looked
like a male and female (according to the difference in
size and appearance). They ended up running up the
Mountain Ash tree and over the roof they went.
Tabbitha is now sleeping after having her breakfast.

At present I don't have any appointment this month
for anything so might be able (fingers crossed) to get
some serious work done here.
I already sent off a card for Ian's birthday on the 12th
of this month.
Got a call from Vincent yesterday telling me that the
one payment a year might be the way to go in future.
I will wait and see how he handles it later in the year.
Just got the gardeners bill to pay today.
I also need to contact the pharmacy at CVS to see why
I have had a second refill too soon on one medication
and not had one at all on another. Its always something.

We had a bit of excitement yesterday close by.
One of the development of town houses (kind of
like Masonetts) blew up from a gas leak.
its a good job it was empty but the four workers
refurbishing it got hurt.
Judging by the street number, its very close to where
we lived for three years when we first came here.
I go past it most days in fact.
Two other places got damaged but no one hurt there
either. Good job they have a 6 ft. high wall around
each patio so it took most of the blast.
Some idiot women they talked to on TV said she
smelled gas the night before and didn't report it!
I guess she thought someone else would do it.

I got side tracked for an hour because Melanie called.
It seems that Jim is going through a rough patch at
the moment and she has run out of patience with
him so she wants to come here for a week and bring her
dog, Chewie with her.
We have been working around appointments but it
should be soon.
Jim is good at talking a good game but never follows
through. Its their 9th wedding anniversary today and
he did not even buy her a card!
He needs to see a prescribing Psychiatrist (?) and get a
proper diagnosis for his condition but he keeps putting it
off. He is not using again but it is only a matter of time.
His councilor wanted him to wait 6 months to get him
in a place that he would accept going to get his condition
diagnosed. its only been 4 months and he is already showing
signs of relapse starting.
I missed breakfast so going to have an early lunch. TTFN

Morning........it's been a wet morning but it's drying up.

That was David Margaret he went to the Lanchester and got his ONC and later on his HNC  he did 6 months working with a Company and 6 months at Lanchester, he'd just got his HNC when I met him.  He was a Civil Engineer.   So was Steve but he hated it.....he went to Bristol and hated that, until Mum stepped in and said to David "Just because that's what you wanted to do and loved it doesn't mean your sons will, Steve hates it let him do what he wants to"   he went to College to do IT and loved it and that's what he's doing.   Same with Rob when he got to be 16 he'd had enough of playing headball , he'd been playing since he was 8 and he'd just had enough, when the Manager came round for Rob to sign the contract I could tell he didn't want to, he picked up the pen, and read the contract again....he was doing anything not to sign,  so again his MUM stepped in "Only sign it IF you want to Rob" well David and the manager started .....and yes he was a brilliant player, when we went to watch Matthew one day this guy walking by said "Our you Rob Peachey's parents?"  we admitted we were, and he started going on about how good he was and we get this all the time, so I could understand the manager wanting him to sign but if the boys heart isn't in it  confused2  so he didn't sign.....and his Dad wasn't pleased.   confused2

Oh look at the time.....I'm off to

John my son did think he all round Apprenticeship at Land Rover that gave him the knowledge to manage the reserch and develoment and final finishing departments

That's what Peter had to do at
AWA, a trainee/apprenticeship
program. 6 months in every department
and he was going to Lanchester Tec
to do his ONC and later his HNC.

The Americans didn't understand how
British engineers were so qualified
all round at such an early age.
I cannot quite understand how Peter
earned a masters degree by age 23
in two years!
(it was a degree from the College of
Aeronautics, Cranfield change later
to the standard degree).

There is a change in the weather coming
on Monday, its supposed to be HOT!
More so inland than near the coast but in the
high 70s to 80s. sunny
Its currently 63f going up to 68f humidity
stands at 76% . I had to have the fan
on low all night as you can feel the moisture
in the air as the temperature rises.

After Fridays little dash around I did not
get as much done as I had hoped but I keep
moving forward, some days like a tortoise and
some day like a hare.
Got caught up on the washingbasket
yesterday.
its back to paper stuffing again today, it
seems to multiply over night!
I am determined to get control over it all
so I can move on to something else.

I still have a few small Cadbury chocolate
hollow eggs left but rationing them to two
a day.(we are talking regular egg size).
I have been very good so far.
I also have a solid chocolate bunny about
3" tall but I am saving him until I have
earned a special treat(bribery is good
for the soul occasionally ).
The clock is running and I should be too.

confused2  But it was only for 6 months Bond.....and you'd see what went on on the shop floor level, learn.   That's the same as if you applied for a management job in say M & S you start serving customers on the cash desk/men's fitting rooms even helping out in their restaurants to get to know ALL the stores and how they're run.  confused2

Benjie & Nessie ......Benjie must be the one with his tail up his tails always fluffed up and in the air where as Nessie's tail is down..

You can bring a pudding box if you can eat it at the time but sorry I managed the chocolate Sponge Brownie , chocolate sauce and ice-cream mrsb had a very light lime tart

Well back from Big Palmers nicely stuffed.

Years ago I voted for someone in some programme, a number of times Susan was also voting more times than me. They did win but I'm sure our votes made no difference. confused2 who ever it was, I just remember going "Yeahhh" when they won, David thought I'd only voted the once ......it's not cheap telephone those programmes....though now you can do it online.

Oh that woman in the book I'm reading.....talk about stupid BUT I'm also going "That was me" and seeing things I should have told him to take a hike....her best friend is saying "You're so into him you can't see it" Mmmm!!! yes. Mad

There lies the problem .one has to VOTE
in order to get someone through ,same here
when a young person tries out ALL their mates
etc will call in and vote so even if we say THE
OPERA should have won ,how COULD
SHE when no one called in ...
Back from shopping ,back later

OH and Morning Vicky

What a turn around!
Down 2-0 in first half and finish
3-2 up at the final whistle.
I have been sharing memories
about my High School days in
Coventry on another UK site
remembering teachers who made
a difference in our lives.
watched a little golf to see how
Tiger is doing. He won't win but
if he finishes at par I think he will
be satisfied.
Onwards and upwards.

Its a quick post this morning I am
afraid.
I am OK don't get me wrong but
my favorite match is on in a little
while between Man City and United.

Boy did I get a lot done yesterday!
Its all small stuff but it adds up
It went like this
Took BR and did ATM, filled up his
tank and went to the Post office.
Came home switched cars, Drug store
for another refill, went Grocery shopping
after which I went to another grocery
store( because mine has been out of a
brand of corn chips for two weeks).
went to the pet store to refill my containers
of kitty litter and the Hardware store!
If you wonder why I switched cars, its because
my store discount cards for the pet store,
drug store and grocery store are on BBs key ring!
My solar string lights have arrived but plan to take
it easy today and do some filing first.
The more that gets put away of this paperwork
the better.

They are closing Yosemite valley as of noon today
and all campers must leave by 5pm.
There is a heavy warm storm coming their way which
will melt a lot of snow and flood the Merced river
that runs through the valley. It makes sense to evacuate
all visitors now ahead of time and not have to deal with
with a mass evacuation under emergency conditions.
The Hikers and campers up in the higher levels of the
park will not be affected. Its only until the storm is
over and they can inspect the valley camp sites for
damage.
I don't know how the storm will affect where Melanie
lives as they are still repairing roads after the last
storm that went through but she will not be in danger
from floods at her house as it sits on an knoll overlooking
the New Melonie's lake. It all drains down hill.
Games on ! TTFN

Sorry I didn't get back in last night.......we were watching the cooking programme, (who do you think will will Bond? it's either going to be the blackburn girl or the young trainee doctor, the asian guy ....I like him and they seem too as well ) and then we watched other things we've recorded and then I was tired so went to bed.

I love ploughmans though I have to have ham and not cheese or branston because they upset my tum but not ordinary pickled onion confused2

Oh Carole that was terrible getting his dosage wrong I hope the doctor give them what for......that's dangerous. Mad Was that his pain pills or something else?

Grey skies here......we have had a few drops of the wet stuff.

Well here I be ...Barb left and I decided
to call Dr's Liaison Jackie to speak to her
about Gil and these pills , well it seems
the pharmacy where Hospice get their
scripts from should have said he should
take 1/2 a pill TWICE a day which is 25mg's
and I gave him 50mg's TWICE a day Shocked
NO WONDER he's been acting LOOPY as Jackie
put it ....
She said she was going to speak to SOMEONE
about the mix up

Barb said his balance was ALL over the place
when she got him up so I could go pay the cable
bill

Vicky Gil has a commode/potty in the bedroom

Marge never let anyone tell you your not doing
a wonderful job

Bond that looks so cool ,guess we ALL love Ploughmans
I remember when I went home to stay with my dad
in 1978 on the way home from Heathrow we stopped
and I had my first one with a LARGE L & L ummmmm
will ALWAYS remember that

Having cod fish tonight
Weather report ....started snowing at 915am then turned to
by 11am and now its stopped but COLD 41f
and dreary

What a novel idea, I love pork pies.
nothing like that here except at the
English shop.
I also love Ploughman's as well, served
with a small cider -heaven!

Not heard back from Ian but he did mention
he had some voice over jobs this week.
I have made a list of everything I have done
since January and its a long one!
I'll bet every bit as busy as his list but I am
older than he is!
Its hard having so many deadlines to meet
but so far I have been able to meet them.
Put all my appointments on my calendar,
some stretching into June.

After a shopper to refill the fridgefood
I am going to find out why I show having 2 accounts
on Ancestry instead of one. I think one was through
Ancestry.co.uk and the other Ancestry.com.
the American one now has all of it on their site anyway.
He has no clue what I find on these sites that I would
pay money to keep looking at them.
(he thought it was a necessary expense to keep my
special TV service paid for so he and Rebecca could
watch the latest movies etc ,even though I never
liked it as it was full of grade B &C films)

It was Peters idea but I never saw the point.
They had it for a whole year before coming to the
same conclusion on my dime!
(It was a service streamed through Amazon so
it was available globally I believe).
I have more choice on my cable service, Spectrum.

The weather has picked up today, the sunny is out
once more and only a tiny bit of coastal fog.
Its still on the cool side, in the upper 50s now , going up
to 66f later. There is a heavy surf advisory in effect until
tomorrow so no fishing off the rock breakwaters!
Its surprising how many do it though.
If you can pay, its better to go out on one of the fishing
barges that work around here. Its not a lot of $$ but
you have to get up really early to go on one.(try 4am).

If you go over to Catalina Island you might see flying fish
or the orange Garibaldi fish which are protected.
There are always pods of dolphins out there and you might
see a few grey whales stragglers going back up north to
the Pacific northwest. Its not always about fishing.

My chores for the day are to post Ian's Birthday card
and the mileage survey I do each year for the AAA
car insurance. I might even get a discount this year!
Then its off to pick up another prescription refill at
CVS and down the road to the market.
I might even gas up Big Red as I have been using him
more lately now he is running better.
I might even be able to squeeze in getting him washed and
waxed.
Its time for breakfast here and take my pills for the day.
TTFN
