Good evening ladies, well I don't think it's stopped raining here today
So not moved out of the house but kept myself busy with things for the wedding day
I don't know if over there you afternoon heard of Jenga its a tower game of blocks of wood stacked in a towee and you have take
One away at a time and put it on top of tower until it falls over, will Michael has come up with a new twist On this with all the blocks on a table with felt pens for you to write a message on to the couple, beats a bit note book and then you could play with it for years to come and give you reminders of the day, the only thing is he wanted them painting white so that has been my job for the day
So time for drinks

Well, we are up early this morning after a day of
just hanging out catching up.
Promised we would go to the garden section at
the big Home Depot and Lowes which are across
the street from each other.
We do have a proper nursery in Armstrong Gardens
which may be where we will start as they have the
freshest selection of plants. They also will replace
a plant that dies within a certain time period.
If I wanted, I could take my hanging basket there
and have them fill it for me (its more fun playing in the
dirt!) I don't think that Melanie will be playing in the dirt
with me as she had her nails done before she came down
here. She can however help me set up the garden lights.

We had lunch at the Olive Garden yesterday, we each had
salad with breadsticks and chicken flatbread with Italian
sparkling water.
Ian seems to be doing a lot of work lately what with Spain last
week and he has three days of work this coming week as well.
He is slightly P*** off with me at the moment because he
chose now while Melanie is here to remind me that there are
internet chores I need to do, the first must be done before
May 12th. The rest follow so still some time left.
I sent him a snippy mail back and I got the equivalent of a
lecture back. I know he is worried that things will not get
done but 3 out of the four things are to do with the Ancestry
search I am doing on HIS FIL!
I needed access to the Military records at Kew which is not
part of Ancestry.com and My Heritage which is the Mormon
site. and FindMyPast which is another subscription site.
I am sick of telling him I do not squander money elsewhere
so I am allowed to treat myself to this hobby when I have
the time and energy. My only other indulgence is Big Red.

To get some relief from this I am going to see how much I can
draw out of the Annuity each year without having a tax penalty.
I am not going to tell him about it until I can find out.
If I had known that the annuity had matured when Peter passed
away I would have cleaned out the account and put it in a savings account.
Instead, I now have to wait another 5 years for this one to mature before
I can gain access to all of the account but I can withdraw a certain amount
each year with no tax penalties.
I could have it transferred to a cash account which would allow me to have
a payment each month because the investment would still keep growing.
Peter intended for me to profit from his hard work ,not to make our children
rich!
Mad Mad Mad
Nice fine day here again ,high expected to be 68f and mostly sunny.
Humidity level is about 86% at the moment.
The Big Birds are here and we will be hearing them take off giving rides
throughout the day.
The highest priced ticket is $2,200 ! which I think includes a tour over the
area and up and down the coastline to look for whales.

No Carole he's NOT been chatting me up.....as YOU know, and yes my lips are STILL zipped, not up to me to say.

Oh I see.......I called my doctor "Sweetie"  one day.....closed the door and then thought "Oh no I've just called the doctor sweetie"  anyway the next time I saw him I said I had to apologise, he asked "Why?" looking puzzled, when I told him he said talktohand  "Oh that's fine as long as you don't call me anything nasty"  Smile It's like the joke "Call me a taxi" "You're a taxi" funnytvprog

Oh so he HAS been chatting you up
talktohand  its OK we do not want to know
ABOUT WHAT

Calling one late for dinner is an old saying that
was going around over here for ages ,you say
"you can call me Fred or call me James just don't
call me LATE for DINNER " confused2

I had one of the old WW11 bombers pass over the back
garden in Stratford Bond caught a picture of it too as
they were over at the airport giving rides to any one
who could AFFORD the $$$
and being as we were only a 10 to 15 min ride away
they were quite low coming in to land or taking off
the NOISE was "BIG" something you could not miss
but quite a sight to see

Well its raining and miserable here now and FEELS
cool and the heat has been turned off for the year now
so Gil is under his blanket on his easychair ,but will
have to wake up soon as I just put the pizza in

I shall be glad to get my shower  and get under my duvet

So we will speak tomorrow @

MUM IS THE WORD I guess

Well so glad to hear Meanie arrived safe
ahhh Arby's every time Gil sees the TV ad
about "we have the BEEF" he always says he wants one
trouble being there is not one close to us both are a
good drive away from BRIDGEPORT

Went to Gil's bank after Barb got him up for his Hubble
pension ,was raining after the sun had been shining beautifully
so when it was time for her to leave I ran her up to the Dr's
near the hospital where she had a appointment other wise
she would have to get TWO buses to get to what took me 10mins
:driver:

How ever you spell the new Princes name I am sure he does
not want to be called LATE FOR DINNER as the commercial goes lol!

Thanks for the drink Bond ,your Kylie is well liked here
I guess, I had never seen her before confused2 sorry Bond

Vicky what you MEAN NO MESSAGES ,he has logged on a FEW
times this week alone ,so if he is NOT leaving YOU
whats he DOING as YOU said he does not even
the postings
We have a STALKER funnytvprog funnytvprog

Pizza tonight home made

It has got an S on the end Margaret.......it's pronounced Lou- ee but it's spelt Louis....as Mountbatten's name was.  Lou-ee Mountbatten but spelt Louis.   William had Louis in his name also.    They do seem as though they all like Arthur both Charles & William have Arthur in their names.

BTW Devon scones are  cream at the bottom and jam on the top....Cornwall is the other way round. Jam at the bottom and cream on the top.    confused2

Have to say I usually go....."Er is it cream or jam first?"  when I do it,   easier I supposed to spread the jam first then put the cream on top.

You'll enjoy having Melanie there, take it easy both of you, have fun though even if it's sitting around nattering

White jeans are white Bond.    I do have 2 pairs of white jeans and around 6 pairs of cropped jeans or summer leggings.

Any  in the pot?

Melanie arrived safe and sound in the middle of
the afternoon, she said the truck ran great.
She had not eaten much on the way down so
she would not have her regular tummy trouble
(a short colon means food passes through a lot
quicker).
We took ourselves out to Arby's for their
new Gyro sandwich which was tasty.
Arby's is known for their beef sandwiches but
they do all kinds of things these days.

See the royal baby has a name at last, Louie
Arthur Charles. Loo-ee not with an "s."
.It was Lord Mountbatten's name who
Charles thought of as his mentor when
Prince Phillip got a bit too rough on him.
Its also one of Georges middle names.

Its always been jam first and cream last
as far as I know, at least in Devon and Cornwell
but you usually make it your own way anyway
with little pots of cream, jam and butter.

Melanie is still sleeping after yesterdays trip as
its still a big effort for her to do something like that
and it is a big pickup that seats four people like a
car or SUV.
I got her coffee station set up and made my tea.
I slept in the den on the put-you-up with out
pulling it out, its nice and comfy but the cats did
their thing once the lights went out, mad dashing
about the place. They did not sleep with me last
night!
It was peaceful, there are still no curtains in there
so it was open sky all night through the new French
windows. A bit like camping but more comfortable.
Nothing different about our weather here.

We are expecting the arrival of the War Birds later as
they fly into Torrance airfield for the week end.
Half the fun is watching them fly in and hearing that
distinct engine sound.
They hop from field to field to get here from where they
are based and it has to be done in daylight hours only.
One of them does give rides but it costs about $700 just
to cover the cost of fuel!
A lot of families pay to have their granddad take one last trip
in a plane they know so well from WWII.
I heard a P51 fly over two days ago , think it was a look see
trip as I think they will be escorting the bombers in
.
I told Melanie I don't want her doing anything too strenuous
as she is not ready yet so we are going to stick to a few items
she can help with that do not need a big effort like putting up a
few flower pots and putting out the new solar lights along the fence.
we can wipe down the patio chairs and put the pads out and I will put up
the umbrellas.
All is under control at home with Jim so far but she does have him being
checked on by friends from their support group every day so he is not being
allowed to sit and wallow at home alone.
Think that is all the news from here so... TTFN

1/2 hanging out the bed needing to "go" ,then I could not
fall back to sleep as I was listening to his BREATHING

there were NO fighting all over this planet of ours

That's bad Carole wouldn't have done the test unless the Doctor suspected a problem.....it's the Opticians who pick up these things.    Or should do.  Mad

Oh I forgot....went to the little Palmers today and we were sitting there David just finishing his jacket potato with sausage, onions & salad.....I had a portion of chips.....well he put his empty plate on one side, reached for his coffee and knocked it over.....all over my WHITE jeans one of the waitresses dashed over and started to mop up, so was David and I with our paper napkins. Washed them once and it's still faintly there so I'm soaking them now, then I'll wash them again.

Hello Marge ,Vicky she maybe like you
seeing a different avatar depending on what
she is on ....

I just telephone Robbins Eye Center who did my
last exam and they did not do a glaucoma test in 2016
so the last I would have had would have been with Lens Crafters
a few years before that, she said unless the Dr suspected a problem
with Glaucoma they would not do the test any way ,plus they do
not do the "puff" in your eye ,its a machine that takes a picture
confused2 plus she said I could have developed this since
then {narrowing of the channel }
I also have United Health Care Marge Passport I believe mine is called
along with Medicare ,I also have whats called a Connect Card from
the State that normally picks up any co pays ,although the place
I went to yesterday does not accept it so had to pay $20
Going to cost me over $250 for new specs as my lens script
has to be so strong due to my left eye being a "lazy eye " and
never had the operation as Nurse Pretty at Gulson Rd clinic taught
me how to straighten it but in doing this with out my glasses things
are slightly out of focus and therefore I cannot :driver: or
but will NOT walk into you funnytvprog

Vicky I see MALC is AGAIN logged in I wonder why he is not popping
in on the sites
HEY MALC IS IT SOMETHING WE SAID OR ARE SMELLING

Don't worry I am cool REAL cool man
Just made steaks with sweet corn and mashed potato and gravy
all CUT UP for Mr Gilbert nono

I shall therefore exit right >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Sorry I was missing yesterday but had just
reached a point of exhaustion and napped
all day.
Bond, You do beautiful work, you are so
talented.
Carole, Have you not had the puff of air
test on your eyes for glaucoma?

Your Insurance should be able to tell you
which Opthomologist in your area takes
you insurance. My Drs. group, Healthcare
Partners uses its own set of specialists so
they refer me to those.

(So far they have worked out except for one
Urologist who I saw once and never again!
He was great with men but though women
were brainless so insulted and embarrassed
them in his office while doing an exam. )

Its only by taking photos of the back of your eyes
that they can find problems that you may have had
for years and not known about.
The eye places such as Lenscrafters usually only test
your vision needs as far as glasses go but our local one
has vision specialists to do the full Monty.
Phone one up and ask how much it costs first.

Surely your GPs office should be able to recommend a place.
Its like being recommended to any specialist by your GP if
it is approved by your insurance ,it should not cost anything
unless you have co pays. Glasses are a whole different ball
game.
My next appointment is for a vision field test in May so I
can have proof of just how much vision I have in my weak
eye, I was led to believe it was about 30% of normal .
I may not be able to count fingers with it but can judge
movement and color and objects with my good eye covered.
I will be going back to the office of the eye specialist I saw
when I got a nasty eye infection which is not the usual office
I go to for regular eye care.

The way it goes here is my GP must start the ball rolling by
ordering a specialists visit, then I get a letter of approval
with the place to go and a phone number to call for an
appointment approved by The United Health care insurance
and Medicare.
There should be no charge unless you pay a co pay.( I do
not have co pays except for emergency room visits).
I have also asked the front desk which specialist they refer
to and ask for their number. It depends how your medical
office works.
So Carole, Carry on and stay calm!

No word yet on if Melanie has left yet but she gets here a lot
faster than I get there. I don't ask her how she does it!
She will have to make a few diversions as our favorite short
cut is still under repair from the floods they had.

I have been told that Melanie is a lot like me in lots of
ways. I can't see it myself!
Nice flowers Vicky.
TTFN

♪ shake your booty ♪ Mumbai

New Aid De De was very nice young man
used to work in outdoor advertising  10 yrs
till his job got outsourced so he decided to go
a different route and loves it as he enjoys helping people
He works for Hospice so its never a long on going
job ,but says he learns a lot
Even asked if I wanted Gil shaved cheers

NEXT.... appointment made missy ,July 6 at 910am
I can only go Monday Wednesday or a Friday and this was
the first one SHE had available that I did not have another
appointment on
To your next question ,it does not work THAT way over here
Vicky most specialists have their own offices in the towns or cities
surrounding the local hospitals ,same as Urologists heart Dr's
etc the hospitals have what they call internists who only work
at the hospital but you only see THEM if your hospitalized

OK better go be back later

No it's not safe to come in Carole until you've phoned those doctors.    DO IT TODAY.   no come on Carole this is important.    SHE should have done it and asked the question.....your eyes are important.

Don't you have an eye specialist at your hospital?

No not heard from Malc.  confused2   could be he's looked at the footy page Carole though he's not posted there either.

We've had some rain here Bond BUT it's back blue skies.....back garden looking good, thoughso is the front and yet those flowers need to come out, they've been in since last year, though they're still looking good.

They should have told you if they'd done the test Carole.....has the doctor made an appointment for the eye specialist?    And don't say you've got too much to worry about, YOUR EYE'S ARE IMPORTANT.    the sooner you see an eye specialist the better.

And no more drumsticks Gil. chicken skins ....no no no nono

Gosh Carole that's bad,  your eye trouble should have been caught  long before this,  sue them.    no if's or buts sue them.   When we go to the opticians they test for Glaucoma  so the ones you went to should have done so and found out the troubles.....no Carole sue them.

I hope she's made an appointment for you to see the eye specialist also, the sooner you're seen the better.

AND DON'T STRESS.....worse thing.

Whose playing soldiers then
LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT ♪ Rule Brittania ♪
Well I am none too pleased ,I KNEW these
glasses were not right ever since I got them
this Dr said they are too strong and seem to have
been made JUST for when I am on the
NO WONDER when I walked out the eye place
where I got the script filled they FELT WEIRD
Another thing she found is something to do with
my eyes in the back ,the channel that she said I could
have been born with it or its narrowed due to old age
but if it closes completely I could lose my eye sight
and she wants me to see an eye specialist
think its something to do with Glaucoma confused2
and WHY NOT might as well add a bit more to my "load"

Anyway both therapists came out and I spoke briefly with
the P/T one as I was coming down the street
Said Gil did very well and he was going to just work on
strengthening his legs as he still had some in them
and showed Barb some exercises he could do after he has
eaten his meals .as I did not want him over stressing himself
with the heart valve
The O/T one said she would call me Barb said as all she
did was measure how much Gil could raise his right arm

OK so there you have my news
