First you see it then you don't Vicky funnytvprog

Yes Tramadol Gil takes twice a day so he gets 1/2
a pill in the morning and 1/2 at night before he goes
to sleep ,along with them the DR said I can give him
up to 4000mg's a day of the 500 mg pills of Extra strength
Tylenol .....
Basically to try and keep his pain at bay as he is ALWAYS
complaining of either his arm or neck hurting ,we know
his neck is a lost cause as the disc's are crumbling and
the surgeon told us when Gil had the openings in the disc's
in his spine opened as they were closing causing the nerves
to be pinched that there was nothing he could do with his neck

Anyway better away as Barb should be here at 9am
if her bus is on time and the therapist said she would be here
at 930 so will greet her then I shall have to leave run run

littleBlond Nor me, only the two I had .....Soooo MARGARET did you eat them? Not that WE mind I had my fill with the ones I had.

Are the pain pills Tramadol you're talking about Carole? Don't you have to give them during the day.....when I had them it was 3 a day, then I dropped them to 2 (after telling my doctor I was going to) and then gave up taking them because the pain had gone.....but as I was saying it was 3 a day to start with, to keep the pain away, not when the pain came then took them.

Well it was drizzling but it's stopped .

Later.

I asked for someone to save me one ,never saw a SNIFF
Well its raining as promised but the only saving grace
is its 50f at 5am

They say the roughest will be just when my appointment
is at from 10am to around 2pm so may have to give Barb
a :driver: home {good job she only lives a short distance
by 4x4  away} She will get wet coming though as the bus drops
her at the top of Parkview and she has to walk 1/2 way down
the steep hill to Lakeview where we are .....

Not a bad night last night with Buddy at least ,it was GIL
who woke me moaning about his arm AGAIN at 3am headbanger

Gave him two pills then 20 mins later he wanted waitingloo
and was asking AGAIN for a pill ,I said you only just had them
and must wait until they kicked in
He is Sleep  now of course after I got up headbanger
Ah well no peace they say for the

Why are you hiding Vicky Shocked

MORNING MARGE

I shall be back LATER Basketball Basketball

Good morning all from Atherstone it's bright morning here but still he nice lady says it could still be cool out there
Now I could be wrong about this and I don't have all the fact but I think you have had to pay for a carer for many years I know mrsbs mum did and she has been dead a few years now, but she had a care alowence and it came out of that, it hat the change was it was down to you how you spent it she spent all of hers on care but some were putting it under the bed for the future, I know in her last days when she went into a full care home her alowence didn't cover it so we had to top it up,
I think it's a hats how it works but how you get the care alowence in the first place confused2 you are right about the nurse I thought I would get a visit after my op on returning home but I would still be sitting waiting now is we hadn't called them
I know a I shouldn't as it blots out your pretty face but I love that photo
Breakfast and it's cornflakes and cold milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice and L&L Back later
Then its get those lovely legs up as its Wednesday hoover

Such a state the  is getting into
and what do you do if you cannot pay DIE confused2

No Vicky I could not have carried on doing what
the occupational therapist does as its all to do with these
muscles that are tightening up REALLY tight ,he holds
his hand and arm stuck out as he cannot lower it and
his fingers are pointed  they will not relax ,they hold his
arm a certain way and FEEL the things inside which
I have NO IDEA what or how to and could end up hurting
him more ,its not that Gil would say no he did not want
to do it
When they work with him after he is hurting bad until
they loosen up,she said before they will never be normal
but its because they are so tight all the time that makes
them hurt eventually everything will start to do this ,that
is all part of the disease confused2
He knows when they first start working with it  he will hurt
after but I will just have to give him a couple of his pain pills

Any way I am off to lay down until 10pm when I have to
come out and bring him into bed for the night so leave me a cookie

Was talking to  on the telephone  tonight and she was telling me about Jim next door to her.....he fell over months ago and tore a muscle in his leg, he's 78, he's just come home and for a carer to come in and see to him, his wife is around that age too, he's got to pay.....we don't do free home carers any longer.  confused2 The district nurse is no more either. Sigh!!!

Decided to hide. funnytvprog

Couldn't you have carried on loosening it up Carole  talktohand  I know I know he yells at you but if they had said "Right from now on your wife is going to be doing it AND YOU MUST DO IT"  and you coax him to do it.    He'll end up going into a home and he'll not like that.  Mad   he's such a silly man.

Oh yum yum Bond thank you.....just another 2.

Rolling Eyes  sorry still not that familiar
guess it was a piece of info that
I was not "into" growing up

Just had a call from the occupational therapist
wants to come tomorrow to see Gil
how he dresses himself etc
I said he does not "WE" do that ,she had it down
the COPD ,so asked her if she was familiar with
Corticobasil ,and THANK GOD she said YES ,so I said
THAT is why the Dr has ordered a therapist as its for
Gil's "comfort" all that Hospice are supposed to provide
its affecting his right arm/hand and is whats aching so
much because the muscles are stiffening up ,the other
therapist was starting to loosen it up before they had to
sign off because Hospice and the other agency being BOTH
government agencies cannot be here at the same time confused2
So this is a GOOD thing

Now I am going again as my BUTT hurts where Vicky
me

People think my middle name is Donald but it actualy my first name but its never used
It was a good strong scotish name until that bloke over there invented that blumming duck, I like to think it was after sir Donald Cambel but I think he was after me with bluebird

Had a devil of a time choosing a girls
name for Melanie. I went to an all girls
school and worked in an all female section
at AWA so lots of names did not appeal to me.
All Mums siblings had 3Christian names.
Dads Mom was Gwendoline but went by Liz
for her second name Elizabeth. She named her
eldest child(a girl) Gwendolin who went by Gwen.
My Mothers mother was Ellen and she named my mother
Ellen Ada Peggy. (she went by Peggy her whole life.)
I think my Dad was embarrassed that his mother loved
Lord Kitchener so gave him the name of Basil, Douglas
Kitchener Ward.
I think she named him for two of the most famous film
stars of the era, Basil Rathbone and Douglas Fairbanks Sr.
I don't think she knew her fathers name as she was adopted
under the table after her mother died (He was a Francis or Frank)
Her husband was from a long line of Charles so she did not
call any of the boys (there were three) Charles.
I was never given a middle name neither was my sister Pamela.
Melanie has a middle name , Dawn and Ian's is Robert.
none of which occur in the Porter family tree either.
Had to change Melanie's original middle name of Ann as her initials
would have been MAP! Had to change Ian's also as we were going to
name him Robert Ian Porter which would have landed the poor kid
with RIP! After having Peter stuck with Peter Porter all those years
I saw first hand what a quirky name or initial can do to get kids
teased.
Got a phone call from Melanie at 7:15am this morning telling me
she had developed a sinus infection but is being treated for it.
She is also waffling about bringing Chewie with her on this trip.
She had told me he gets car sick just going to the vets!
She doesn't know if Jim will take care of him while she is away.
She is going to call a couple of people to see if they can at least
check in with Jim every day and make sure that the animals are getting
enough food.
It does not sound good about Jim at this stage, his depression is getting
worse and he is having a hard time finding a specialist who will take his
Medicaid coverage. If necessary I will pay the co pay for him so he can
get antidepressant medication. I cannot and willnot pay for him to go to
rehab again. Its only 5 months since he came out of the last one.
which was kind of on the house ( a scholarship they called it).
30 days is not going to cut it. He needs long term supervision and
medication.
We will have plenty of time while she is here to think of a way to
sort this out.
Must way with the fairies. TTFN

Bond next time use your SIREN :driver:

Well we are getting a MALE Aid Thursday just for
an hour and a 1/2 to see how things go as all I want
is for them to wash Gil up and get him dressed ,the difference
between Barbara and Hospice is that Barb will do housework
they do not ,so I do not need someone sitting around for
4 hours doing nothing ...

Nice day out side again but as I said its going to change
as the is koncking at the door and should arrive
before midnight and they are showing all this YELLOW
on the maps along with the dark green just at the time
of my appointment headbanger

Gil just had the rest of the Beef Curry we had the weekend
for lunch ,I had cottage cheese with beets and some of the seafood
salad I also made the weekend
Tonight its pork cutlets peas and Mac N Cheese for a change

Be back later

Did I call Marge this morning

MARGE MORNING

I'll watch my paws also  Smile

Well it's wet here.  Shocked  where's that nice weather gone.

The couple who came to see Susan's house on Saturday, they've been to see it before,  second viewing went well, told the agent they wanted this house it was just perfect for them, BUT they've still not sold their house SO they've asked their agent to work like mad to sell their house because they've found the one they want,  trouble is is quiet at the moment,  it's the 3rd couple who's had a second viewing and still loved it, but again haven't sold their house but keep Susan's agency informed how things are going, so it's a rush to who sells their house first, I hope it's the one from Saturday.....they've got a first viewing tonight as well.   Susan & Matt got out while the agent shows the people around.   Houses at the bottom of the price range are selling it's just dearer houses aren't.   confused2

We couldn't really make our minds up about a girls name when I was expecting Steve & Rob ...with Steve it was either Joanne or Karen,  even when I went into labour I said to David  "If it's a girl Joanne or Karen?"  he said "Er Joanne....no Karen....oh I don't know"   with Rob it was either Amanda, or Elizabeth, though we liked about 4 other girl names......with Susan
we didn't have a boys name we really liked ....though David wanted her to be Suzanne but David's Mum said "Oh not Suzanne that's what that brat across the road is called"  and I wasn't too fussed either way....So Susan Joy it was.

Well we're off out somewhere.

Later guys.

A bit of a tease eh..... you should be used to that.

Morning Bond ,I am ASSUMING you
meant Ted the  and that
you were hoping he kept his PAWS out
the paint funnytvprog
Woke up to 37f and rain on the way for
later tonight into ALL of Wednesday when
I go for my eye test

I see New Haven {next big town to us going
up the coast} is celebrating its 380th birthday
today, funny really when you know towns back home
have been around for THOUSANDS of years

Vicky Wendy's middle name is Ann I named her
was debating on whether to call her Wendy or Gail
as she was born the night of the Lynmouth Floods
and it was bad weather all over it seemed in the
but "windy Wendy" won out
Also named my brother "Dean" as I LOVED Dean Martin
and also James Dean ,only gave him one name ,I guess
HOPING Mum would have no more kids {but she did
Donna Marie who was conceived just before we left  the
UK in 1967 that was a bad year ,Nan died February
we left April 22nd and Mum found out she was pregnant
and had Donna Aug 14th, so had no contact with her
growing up as I never got back home until the early 70's Mad
Always say that is why she is like she is ,not having a big sister
around to :knock: her into shape

OK better get going SUPPOSED to get a Hospice Aid today
although I have heard nothing confused2

I didn't watch that Bond......though everyone who's met her all say she is lovely.

Yes Wilfred is popular these days....Jessica's little boy is Wilfred, they call him Wilf.  I'm not that keen.  Never heard of Labum Bond....unusual.

I was the same not wanting a photo taken though David kept chasing me about with his  most of the ones he took were blurred, so agreed to stand still by the blossom tree (it's grown since then, plus bushes now)  from then on he left me alone.

David's said Arthur....well he would it's the family name,  though Alan didn't get Arthur but it's David's middle name ....David's sister's daughter Rachel called her son Arthur. David's Dad was Albert Arthur,  and from Granddad all the way back it was Arthur.   I'm like you Margaret I like James.

Yes Carole she is cute.

As for eating well, I always have   confused2 whether I'm cooking at home or eating out.

Hey Marge ,how many miles is it between
Melanie and you ,Tracie figured about $500 on her
1400 mile +2 trip which included $50 for the tolls
+2 {up and down} last time I went over the G.W. Bridge
it was only $4 she said its $15 now

Just went out fast while Gil is easychair and raked
the leaves away from the Creeping Phlox around the "rock"
after Barb left ,she has to rush to get $$ out of her bank
as her dog Aretha is bleeding {she has health issues}
so she is hoping its nothing REALLY serious as it is she spends
money she can barely afford on her ♥️ pills ...

Just looked at pictures from my FB this time last year
the Phlox was ALL out and the Honeysuckle and Clematis
was LOADED with leaves climbing up the side of the shed ,talktohand
nothing even CLOSE this year Mad

Made a Eye of round r/beef today with parsnips around it mashed
potato carrots and sprouts and gravy ...

Vicky you as I said the other days are eating very WELL

I saw they favor Arthur,Albert or Philip Marge ,guess we will know soon enough
Charlotte is SO cute
I did not have many pictures taken either while pregnant I think there's two
or three that I remember all when pregnant with Spencer ,we never
took that many home photo's back then ,maybe why I took it up as a hobby
after coming over here ,also one of the reasons Marge I rarely
take pictures now a days since gaining weight after my back op HATE
the way my body looks Rolling Eyes

OK back later

I didn't want any photos taken when I was
expecting either of my children. I just felt
too self conscious of how I looked.
I felt like a barrage balloon.
Who is making guesses on a name for the new
prince?
Albert? Arthur? James or Phillip.
I like the name James.
Some historians would like Arthur - as a homage
to king Arthur and the knights of the round table.

Been suffering with my sinuses that last two days
so hopefully the Indian Hawthorne is finally at its
peak and once it stops flowering things will get better.
Now some of the trees are throwing pollen like the
eucalyptus trees, their pollen is everywhere at the
moment also. They are definitely not native but
grow well in our climate. Only drawback is their
limbs tend to be brittle and break off easily so
must be trimmed just right. Our main boulevard
through Torrance is lined with them, they look
spectacular but keep the city street department
on their toes.
Its kind of late for the trees as it usually happens
in January and February but we can't fight Mother
Nature.
Melanie finally let me know she got my check to help
pay for fuel for the trip down here. She is just worried
about how much fuel the truck will use coming down
here as she has not done a long drive in it like this
before. I don't want her running up a sizable charge
on her credit cards right now.
She is trying to keep everything very low key with Jim
at the moment so maybe giving him some time by
himself will be good for him. He still has to go to meetings
and see his councilor and sponsor and if he doesn't,
there are people who will inform Melanie. She will most
likely be calling him every night anyway.
I was just wondering why I had such a quiet phone day
yesterday and just found out one of my 4 house phones
has been off the hook since Saturday!
so anybody calling me got a busy signal. So now I have to
check my voice mail . Its always something.
At least if it was one of the kids, they could always reach
me on my mobile.

Not many "antique" places here in S. California. its
either very high end stuff or garage sale type stuff.
This whole country won't be 300 years old until 2076!
California did not become a state until the 1800s.

Weather is stuck in a rut of partly cloudy and partly sunny
expecting a high of 70f locally but the humidity is going up,
its 86% which is making it a bit sticky outside.
Going to grab another mug of tea and get to work. TTFN

Yes we have some antique stores near us
one huge one in Stratford was where Ruth
and I went a few times to look around ,SHE
was the one who knew her pieces especially
glass etc and some days after being down on
the seawall to eat we would pass people having
tag sales and get out to see if there was anything
of value ,loved doing that with her ...

Well looks like it's that time again so to all of our
Registered posters ,those who only eye eye
and the few of us who DO
I say have a good night ???? and God willing will see the on the morrow

Btw Vicky that's one hell of a BIG  batch

There was a lovely little pot with lid Bond, Royal Worcester, beautiful, though around £400 there was also a mini coffee pot  couldn't see the price of that.     You have to get through all the tat to find the good stuff, Susan was looking for a silver candle snuffer, no joy though.

Yes it seems to have been a good match the Arsenal v West Ham.  Sad that Wenger is stepping down though it was time.....he's been there 22 years,  it was him who shook the football world up with his new way of eating  etc   all other teams followed.      I like him.

Ok back later.

Oh avatar is me nibbling chicken salad roll in Druckers at Fosse Park.
