Yes that the Hiatus Hernia same as me Carole.....different doctors call it different names but it's the same thing, has the same thing. Susan was saying more people do have it than not....most just don't know until they have the camera down.

The Statin tablet is the only tablet my doctor has told me to carry on taking but I'm saying "Thank you but no" Graham's stopped taking his Statin also and feels so much better, though his Doctor is telling him he has to continue. At times you just have to listen to your body, seems once we're put on it over here the doctor just hate allowing you to stop so you have to take matters into your own hands. The other tablets (neuralgia) I've followed my doctor in the dosage until it came down to 100mg once a day to.....zero.

They were clever people those Roman's Bond.....we were still living in caves and they were building cities.

I'll pass on the steak Bond I'm not a lover of steaks.

Oh yes I remember those brown envelopes.....my first pay was £2 a week, worked for Littlewoods Catalogues in the office as a typist. .

I've really cut down on my tablets Carole, I only have 3 tablets now per day one for BP, one for my Hiatus Hernia and the other one to thin my blood.

Well it's not so much liking Ireland, though she does, but to visit her mate who lives just outside Dublin .

Lovely photo Carole.

Was sent this picture a few months ago
by Gil's sisters SIL Pete it was of us when
I returned to the UK in Aug 1995 to see
if the feelings I had would be the same when
we met up again in the flesh after not seeing
or speaking to Gil in 25 yrs ,of course I found
they WERE the rest is history
I smile when looking at it the way Gil was holding me
kind of saying after all these years she is MINE AGAIN

Forgot to mention your eye
Bond ,Vicky is right you get them when your
body is run down ,you need a good tonic ....
another good treatment is a teabag held on it after
its been soaking a while ,After I got pregnant with
Tracie in 1960 I  had styes AND Chilblains ,never had THOSE
before  ,the cure for THEM a "pee pot" soaking your heels in
the pee Mad
That was because she was draining everything out of my body
including calcium as I had to take those horse pills to replenish
my supply ...
I remember also after having Blaine my Dr said his name came
from Chilblains Rolling Eyes when he came to the house to visit rollingpin

They were just talking on FB on the "Coventry site" about do you
remember getting your pay in the brown  envelope every week ,I do
my first was around £2.15 from the Armstrong Siddley

How did we manage back then on so little ,but we did
Then this lady posted that she worked at Bretts in the '70's
I wondered if she remembered Gil as he was a Stamper there
before they closed ,she said she does not reorganize his photo
but does seem to remember his name Surprised

Ahhh yes NOW I remember I said she liked Ireland Vicky ....
its the brain cells you know

Well done with the pills I can remember when you needed them SO BAD
when your pain was excruciating, hows all the rest doing are you cutting
down on any of the others ?

Just watching again John McCains daughter Megan's speech in the church
in fact ALL the Ex presidents that spoke ALL made underlying references
to YOU KNOW WHO Rolling Eyes
Anyway I will once more be back AGAIN

Bond you will keep peeping through that key hole......but seriously the next time straight away rub your wedding ring, or Mrs B's wedding ring across the affected part.    It works, I used to have Sty's when I was growing up until I was told to rub a wedding ring on the sty as soon as I felt it  (something to do with the gold)     usually means you're run down as well. nono

Well it's looking as if we're in for another lovely day.

Yes Margaret there's no such thing as a "Common Law Marriage"  as lots of people who live together think  "But we've lived as man and wife for years"  doesn't mean anything .    Steve & Claire know all that but neither want to get married.

I have to say I think your friend's kids, specially the son, are behaving terrible Margaret.....if the guy is "Brain Dead"  what did they want to do......keep him on the machine for ever, pay him visits every week.      The son should grow up.      I feel for your friend, going through losing her husband and then being treated like that for years.

I bet David won't be at the wedding either then Carole .....have to agree with Spencer,  he's right Tracie is her Mum,  Tracie did so much for her over the years, even use to pay the car insurance for her after Chelsea stopped talking to her Mum.....maybe one day when she's got kids of her own she'll realise.      Well at least Tracie's got a good loving son to be proud of.

funnytvprog  no you must have dreamt it Carole.....Susan's in Ireland this weekend, well over night went yesterday going back home later today.

Oh I've now come to a close with my neuralgia tablets.....FINISHED.  cheers   after all those years.

Ok back later.....

Buddy has been YOWLING since 3am ,I got up and fed him at 4am which I do
not normally do thinking it would shut him up ,but he was STILL restless
now I am up and done my chores {cleaned the cat boxes ,every morning}
made myself a and taken my pills he is ,,,,GUESS IT

I know Marge that is the only problem
living together ,and if your of the same sex
its the same maybe worse
Tracie has two female friends in Florida
one a nurse who got cancer and she looked
after her before she passed away ,the partner
ran into SO much red tape regards bank accounts
etc later all because they WERE MARRIED but in
some States as you know they do not recognize
it ...luckily they had no children ,she has another couple
Steph and Rena whom she took shelter with last time
they had that Hurricane hit as they live in Coral Gables
slightly away from the coast where as Tracie was in
Fort Lauderdale, they originate from,New York have been together
over 30 yrs and have a adopted son who is as old as David
They only just NOW got married "legally" shall we say but
faced such problems raising Jonathan from a baby
SO its always the children one has to think about

Well Spencer has been and gone ,they are going to
Mystic Seaport for a couple of days ,said he will be
back early Monday sometime

Blaine is off out somewhere so tis I Buddy and Tabitha

Yes Vicky Chelsea I hope has grown up some but as far as
going THAT far as to say will she invite Tracie to the wedding
I DOUBT IT ,that rift is still OPEN ,she had wanted Gil to give her away
so not sure even WHOM she is getting to walk her down the aisle
She is friends with Blaine but Spencer is still upset with her
when she kept referring to his sister as TRACIE ,and when he
tried to tell her that's your MOTHER ,she would not stop
and he has not wanted to speak to her since ,sad when they
used to be SO CLOSE

So sleep well all speak tomorrow
♪ Tomorrow ♪ tomorrow I'll see ya ♪ tomorrow

It can get a bit dicey legally just living together
unless they spell things out like who gets their name
on the life insurance policy as beneficiary.
Who gets what in a will as there are kids involved.
They may not have much but its amazing what
happens when it comes to things they don't want
to think about, like medical decisions.

When Lorna's husband was declared brain dead
none of his children wanted to be the one to pull
the plug and Lorna knew they would blame her
if she went ahead so one of the Doctors did the
deed. It has caused a rift ever since.
It is now 10 years later and Riches son will
still not have anything to do with her.
He is a Paramedic/firefighter and wanted to keep
his Dad on the respirator longer.

I would have gladly lived with Peter without
marriage. It did not matter to us but it mattered
to my parents and grandparents.
We knew we were bonded for life.
I know its different these days but when you have
children its a bit different even more so.
Just saying........

Oh crumbs you're right when we were growing up you didn't live together,  but these days it's fine, Steve & Claire aren't married and both have said they haven't any plans of getting married.

Looks as if Chelsea might have turned a corner and grown up.....I wonder if she'll invite her Mum to the wedding?    I do hope so.

Still have to telephone Bev.....don't know how the holiday went or anything. Tried a number of times but she's been out.

I see that as well Marge with my son
but as I said what can you do with a 53yr old
Regards the immigration office Marge unless it's
changed from when we went with Spencer in 2006
they would not allow him to wait with us so he waited in his car
after he found a parking lot near by Sad

Chelsea said she would find a Starbucks and continue
planning her wedding (next Aug 19th )

Guess so many are living together now a days Vicky
something years ago that would have been frowned upon
now a days ,the norm ..
Sun's out here

With Carmen it seems to be a bit one sided
to say the least but as you say he is a big boy
now and old enough to know better.

Its overcast here this morning but it is still in
the 70s and humid, its expected to clear up
later in the morning.

Melanie says she is at last seeing the side
of the Jim that she fell in love with.
which is how I felt the first time I saw her
when she got clean and sober. Its a whole
different person.

Felt out of sorts yesterday but could not tell
you why. I just need to slow down and sort
out in my head what is my next priority.
A list always helps me focus on keeping on
track.
Good thinking about the trip to take care of
your green card Carole. There is usually a
waiting room for relatives or friends as a
lot of people need help getting to their office.
Tell her to take a book as the wait can get
long like at the DMV here.

The Vice President, Mr. Pence spoke with a lot of
admiration about his association with John McCain.
I don't like his political point of view but at least
he has more class than Trump who sounds as if
he has trouble speaking in public, its always off
the cuff and he comes across as the village idiot
sometimes.
I think that come the by-election in
November a lot of people will be changing their
vote. By 2020 I don't think Trump will get a second
term. One of the authors of the Watergate probe who
was a reporter for the Washington Post is starting
to be asked to comment about the whole "dirty
tricks" aspect of this compared with Nixon.

One would think that someone who went to a military
academy would have better deportment. It was a private
college for out of control boys.
He comes across as one of those people who are brilliant
at just one thing and being President isn't it.
Oh, by the way, Trump has cancelled the big Parade he
was going to give himself. It smacked of dictatorship
anyway.

The blinds look splendid Carole. I have white mini blinds
at my regular windows including the room that my
computer is in, they are always half raised as the cats
like to look out of the windows in here.
I still have to decide what covering I want in the den
on the French windows and in Peters office.
I hate the vertical blinds as it looks so institutional to
me even if they are covered in fabric.
At least there is no rush on that yet.
Going to see if I can find the end of the string that leads
to a bit of sanity here so TTFN

Oh Rob's said he'll never get married again......live together but not getting married.

Oh SHE isn't bothered when Rob returns the kids......she'll be sorry though, when the kids go off to Uni SHE won't be seeing much of them, in fact Laura's already said it.

Yes my penfriend used to go there every summer with her folks.....I was going to say "It's Long Island"

I know Vicky ,but I did mention something
the day day that surprised me when Spencer
answered he was not planning on marrying
again as he was wondering if we might buy a house
instead of staying here renting ,when I said but what
happens when you go off to marry Carmen that was
his answer
I would not think about buying a house ,too much responsibility
and worry talktohand
I mean sure I would like to have some things different
but at my age I think that would be a stupid move ..

Just been watching John McCain's service Bush Obama both speaking
as well as Joe Lieberman {CT senator and close friend of John }
It would be LOVELY if both political parties tried to come together
like John wanted ,instead of things like "Mr Fake News" is making
this country become confused2
Beautiful service though all orchestrated by John McCain while
he was still alive ....

I see Marge in house ...

Yes it must be hard for Rob as that was how Spencer used to have Brittany
when she was younger Friday night to Sunday afternoon and woe betide
if he was a minute LATE returning her ,his Ex was a witch and still is
in some respects ,Brittany is looking into renting a bedsit after the apartment
she was going to rent with HER EX {she is courting a fireman now} fell
through so she had to move back home ,as even though she is now 27
Jackie tries to rule the roost Rolling Eyes
And as Spencer said she told her Dad rather than looking for something
where she could have her friends over to entertain ,she will just have something
smaller she can afford alone ....

Sun keeps popping out here, went shopper so have a full fridgefood
Taking my 4x4 back to the service garage Wednesday though as I keep
getting a "false Abs" when I stop so its either the bearing they replaced
or ANOTHER one on another wheel going so they have to run it with
the scanner on and see whats what confused2

OK so whose making drinks today and maybe a few nibbles later
as I just has some left over veggies broccoli carrots pea pods with a small
serving of a Cauliflower cheese dish I made the other day

Be back later again

That is such a shame Carole ......hopefully they'll sort things out.   It can't be easy for either of them living apart the way they do,     It's hard on Rob having the kids Friday until Saturday afternoon, then he dashes  :driver:  to Dawn's coming home late Sunday, or Sunday lunch time in the footy season.   But she's lovely and he's happy doing it.    They have looked at a house in Ashby Bond..... talktohand  only looked neither of their houses have gone on the market yet, Rob could sell his and move in with Dawn seeing  it'll be easier to do that,  the business Dawn's got would have to start all over again when they do move, where as it's up and running where she is, but that would mean a change of plans where the kids are concerned,  and with Matthew still playing football on a Sunday, training on a Saturday.....it's not easy.   They'll work something out.......hope your son and Carmen do as well.

It's lovely out there....... sunny

Hi Vicky I have the same problem
when i post from my tablet get a different
Avatar than what is on my when
looking at yours .....

Having a small rain shower right now that
is OK though as after mowing the grass
yesterday morning it will enjoy a drink ....SLURPPP

Some times Carmen does not THINK Vicky
and my son is starting to realize that, when Spencer
got to where the party was being held for one of her friends
she asked Spencer if he could run and collect some $$ from
one of the people she sells her perfume to,now he said when
he left no one was eating ,but when he got back everyone had ATE
the main course and were eating desert ,but Carmen never offered
or it seems KEPT him a plate and only gave him some desert ,now Spencer
had not eaten earlier when I did as he said he was going there ...

Then Carmen ups and says OK I am leaving as she was going out
again later to sell her wares {she does pretty well with the Spanish
people she sells to} told Spencer well YOU can stay if you want as
her son and daughter were there with their partners
he said why would I want to stay if your leaving ,so he left as well

Picked up something to eat on his way home and was none too pleased
She said I will see you after you get out at 4pm {Saturday} as
normally he showers then rushes over her house ,he said we will see

I think at times she is taking advantage of his generous nature ,but I can only
say SO MUCH to a 53 yr old confused2

OK better go get dressed I SHALL RETURN run run run

I'll have to look on David's iPad to see your new avatar and the blinds.....I don't know why I often get a different photo of yours, I'm still seeing your plate of food which was the one before your Gil & the boys avatar...

So you were certainly busy yesterday......oh dear hope Spencer has calmed down after being mad and so home early.

Morning ,sorry did not get back on here yesterday
Spencer called me shortly after I posted asking
what was I doing {well OBVIOUSLY waiting for my SON} funnytvprog
Anyway after getting his "baby" washed {car} he came home and we went
up the road to Home Depot where we found what I wanted except
they are NOT mini blinds but wooden slats as you know "cats" have
a tendency to break vinyl blinds ,plus I did not want white ,so we got
Espresso.....bought them Spencer had three up went to hang the 4th
and found SOMEONE had put a 48" length in the 64" box that we needed
We needed them to be 26 wide so also had to wait to get them cut
as they only had THREE 27X64's in brown on the shelf so the girl cut
them to 26" then a 29" down .....Anyway I ran back up and had ANOTHER
one cut down after showing them what was up by the time I got home
Spencer had the drapes back up and had hoover  and all he had to do was
pop the last one into place and WHALLLAA {new AVATAR with Buddy already
back in his favorite spot }

After all that I was pooped so took a shower and went into lie down
just as Spencer came BACK home as he was supposed to have gone
to some party with Carmen but said he would not be THAT late as he
has work today ,but he was home REALLY early as he got mad {long story}
so he was home at 6pm as well ...

Last thing I got a date to go get my Alien card done ,but you have to go
to Port Chester NY {used to be to Hartford CT} now I do not care to :driver:
a lot on the major highways so was thinking I am screwed as its for MONDAY
Sept 10th cannot ask Spencer or Blaine  to take the day off work so thought
I would text Chelsea who works for an Elite Limo service to see if she could
ask how much it would cost to run me ,she answered that she would ask
her boss if it was OK to take the day off and SHE would take me

Trouble is she cannot come IN with me they do not allow anyone but
the applicant in ,so will have to park somewhere till I get out,so that
is where we are at right now he will let her know Tuesday {its her 26th
birthday on Friday as well} TWENTY SIX oh my GOODNESS where did
THOSE years go to as she is the YOUNGEST as Brittany is 27 yr old
David of course is 29 Shocked

Anyway have fun every one going to my regular shopper
later to get my cats food catmilkbowl

Weather is cooler today and a chance of a pop up shower at times
THEN we start to GO UP
Holiday weekend here talktohand  NO ME EVERY day is a HOLIDAY now

MORNING MARGE santa  BYE Bond santa  BYE VICKY

Hi all, that one of the other problems with louby lou's I didn't know know about how many sizes there is in bras and they like to carry all of them as it takes so long to get them from the factory
Thats one of the reasons for the sale tomorrow to get down the build up of stock with top quality knickers 3 for £10
Ladt drinks before bed
See you for breakfast Night Night

Now that's what I hate, having to send things back talktohand  oh I just couldn't be bothered, it's like when we all used catalogues ....the amount of stuff you sent back because, didn't suit you,  didn't fit etc.....oh no let me go into a shop look at the item, feel the item, try it on and either buy or not.   confused2 . Of course not everyone can get out to shop..... I can understand your problem Margaret as well and I expect I'd buy online IF that was a problem over here. You'd think a place like America would understand certain areas needed different sorts of clothes, there's an opening for a company to provide this.

Susan rang just before I'd finished this post and then after her telephone

I think the internet is good for some things
but California was the last state that was
not paying tax on items bought online but
that is all changing now.
We have known for years that the shops only
carry a limited size array so the Petites and
Women's sizes don't give a lot of choice in
most stores. You used to have to ask if it
came in a certain size but 9 times out of 10
they could not get it for you.
Sears and Penny's used to have a yearly catalog
which was the forerunner of the internet.
You could have an item delivered to your door or
pick up at the store.

Now I use speciality catalogs for women's sizes.
The problem has been that most big department stores
here are headquartered on the east coast or mid west.
which offer merchandise which is not suitable for
the west coast. We don't need winter clothing here.
And our life style is much more casual.
I do not want to be seen wearing a flowered grannie
dress just because its the only thing in my size.
I hasten to add that I am not that big but want to
wear what I like not what the manufactures want.
The small businesses are being squeezed out by greedy
owners upping the leases not because they are failing.

Big surprise last night , we had 10 people at our meeting
two of which we have not seen in months and others
that have moved to the area and are looking for meetings
close to where they live.
I think they all went away with a good feeling about the
program we offer.
If we can raise the funds to keep the rent paid we can keep
going.
When I first posted around 9am, the temp was 74f and 81%
humidity, Now at around noon, its 79f and 74% humidity.
High is supposed to be 81f and an overnight low of 66f.

Been doing a little survey in my mind about certain areas
of hard scape that need attention. I need to move the hose
out front to the other side of the front of the house as its
in the way between the garage door and the gate where it
is now. It never gets put back in the pot its in so it must be
too small, I need a hose reel so it can be stored more neatly.
There are a few pebble coated stepping stones missing in
places that got broken over the years. most of them square
but some are oblong to fit in certain places. Hard scape comes
first be fore I can tackle a planter or two.
I think that covers what I wrote before. TTFN

Hi, that is a problem with louby lou's, you go and have a professional bra fitting even try on different styles and bands then say OK I'll get the think about it and get it on line, as luck has it it dosnt happen often as they have a good customer return.

Yes  was telling me a lot of shops have closed, though she still goes on about M&S closing and how many years ago was that?  confused2     of course the High Streets shops are closing all over the country thanks to "Online Shopping"    use it or lose it.   Look at how many book shops have closed thanks to us all buying on Amazon  and of course the books on Amazon are now as dear as if you went to WHSmiths or Waterstone and bought it there.       Tamworth is ok if we want to look around their M&S otherwise it's towards Leics and Fosse Park or further afield.....I keep telling Susan to stop buying online....but that's the younger generation for you.    THOUGH saying that I have seen a lovely bag which I'd get cheaper....hem, sort of ....online.  went and had a look at it while we were at Susan's when we went to John Lewis's in the Mall, and it was lovely but as I've just said I'd be able to buy it online cheaper....but   confused2

cheers present ..
Mowed the back grass so it's all
ship shape again for a while

Then went and got my 4x4 put through its
Emissions test (every two yrs now used to be yearly )
It passed , so he is good to go for the winter as well
as they checked all the fluids yesterday and replaced
the wipers
Stopped at the shopper store on the way home
as at Prjce-Rite is where you can find big meat bargains
So came home with steaks pork chops milk bread ,hot pockets
good to take to work for the boys ,and more Klondike bars
(Spencer LOVES them )

Watching the tributes to John McCain and Aretha ,did you see her gold coffin
waiting now to see if Spencer comes home early as I want to replace these
AWFUL blinds we have at the bay window with four individual mini blinds
at each window ,not only will it make the room look bigger ,but Buddy and Tabitha
will be able to lay on the window ledge without having to negotiate the slated
blinds up now that if twisted a certain way FALL off the rack that they slide along Sad

Ok back soon

I'm back.....we just went to Palmers, saw my favourite assistant (the one who always makes a beeline to the books I take in for the charity shelf)  she'd just finished reading a book and had brought it in for me, but I've already read it.....about 2 years ago.     I'm reading my Kindle at the moment.

It is lovely out today.

Are you spending Bond?

Well it's looking not too bad out there.......

We took the boys, and then Susan & either Jessica or Kelly, to Warwick Castle often.....these days it's too expensive to visit,  costs a fortune if you wanted to take your young family  which is a shame I know my lot loved going there,     Yes he went to Hollywood in the 30's, was given a contract by MGM but was dropped after 6 months then Paramount gave him a chance and he finally  made a film for them along side David Niven and Errol Flynn. then they dropped him.   I suppose being an Earl (though he used the name Michael Brooke)  with film star good looks was the reason MGM was interested in the first place.

I don't often to into the town for nibbles Carole in fact I don't often go into Nuneaton town full stop.

We are off out later but where.....  I know.....Birmingham.

Right back later......

Our temp dropped as a front comes down from Kanuk land
for a couple of days so we are 20 degrees LOWER today than all

Going up to and going to be a nice day ,so might pop out
and mow the back grass to keep it tidy ,the front which was
always a problem has never looked so good and is all filled in

the Mystic Aquarium on Sunday } but TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY .....
here comes ANOTHER heat wave 90f AGAIN headbanger
We cannot seem to get rid of it ,wondering if we will go the OPPOSITE

run into each other if her and David are out for nibbles

I have just put my washingbasket in the washingmachine ,then as I said
I might do the lawn and then I need to pop to the shopper store
for a couple of items {cat food for one}
Talking of catmilkbowl Buddy was a GOOD boy last night did not even

Watching on Net Flix
Secrets of Great British castles
Love the history from Dover Castle to
the Tower of London that started off also as a zoo

Now watching the Earl of Warwick who used to be a Hollywood
actor in the *30's staring with Errol Flynn and what happened
to our Warwick Castle

Marge that would be lovely for you if Ian could do those two
jobs for you ,I find that one chore a pain in the butt job
cleaning the windows with screens, you can clean inside
fine but out side confused2 ,especially on the upper floors not so well

I was also hoping for lower temps next week but seems
It's not to be Sad

Yes Vicky really chuft  with my 4x4

Not sure yet Vicky as I want to watch what I am eating
being as I am losing weight ,when we ate at the Red Lobster
the menu said our meal was 1030 CALORIES affraid
And no good going out if I cannot eat what i want so maybe
go back to having breakfast with her as that is the easiest
confused2

Plus she will be traveling down to North Carolina soon to see
their new Grandson ,so not sure what her schedule is looking like
as we can only really go Thursday Friday or Saturday
as she still works for her SIL & daughter Nicole

Got something to look forward to
next week(besides labor day) ,
The weather here will be in the 70s
instead of the 80s all week!
It will also be much cooler at night
which will be a blessing.
Don't really like it getting darker earlier
though.

There were only five of us last night as the
rest went as a group to Laughlin in Nevada
to gamble at the Casinos.
The coffee shop has new menus so tried one
of their new dishes, a Chinese chicken salad.
It was really good,
They make one at the Redondo Beach Brewing
company which is the hallmark for this dish in
my eyes but this was a strong second.

As my son has said he MIGHT be coming over
in Oct. and that he prefers to do a big job instead
of shuffling boxes, I have lined up a few that he can
do while he is here. One is to clean all the outside
windows and another is to lay some
linoleum tiles down in the main bathroom.
Its the original linoleum to the house in there.
The windows all have fly screens on them so a bit
more involved than just cleaning the windows.
They are mounted outside the windows that open
but just clip in so not too complicated.
He might even get both jobs done while he is here!
Its time to start my shift here and get my bins back
from Lorna. TTFN

cheers truck is running smoother
than a babies bottom ,and the A/C
OH THE A/C VUNDRBAR
And he gave a discount on a few things
so came in less than they said at first
but its money well spent

Yes Barb will look after the kitten as she looked
after her rescue dog Aretha ,letting herself go
without to pay for her heart medication ,big bucks
a month
Plus she will getting regular pay checks again now
getting her foot in the nursing home door

Ok so it's back to watching tv as the boys being
off tomorrow do not want dinner
