Nice hair do Vicky ,how often do YOU go ?
OHH I can just imagine Bond standing
on his balcony on a chair that is balancing
on the chattable funnytvprog
As to his last statement I can only read between
the lines about the "bums" with his cell phone
posting what "IT" wants

Thinking this may be GOUT I have so took one of the pills
Gil used to take and see if it helps any if not it will be
up to see my quack
Also getting on the telephone again at 730am when
Social Security opens as once AGAIN they have taken
money out for my part B medicare insurance that
they should now be paying headbanger
I did get what looks like a payment two days ago
that looks like a repayment for TWO months of what
they owe me off the 4 they owe me ,but no explanation
so who KNOWS what it was from confused2

Have to also call today to see if Gil's insurance got the claim
forms I sent so we can get THAT sorted

Going to be ANOTHER HOT and possibly stormy day for
some depends on where the storms pop up we never got any AGAIN
yesterday as they seemed to be just above Bridgeport a little
further inland Shocked
All I know is its MUGGY right now so the poor A/C's and fan fan
are doing double duty at 6am its starting off at 76f but with a 76 dew point
its feeling like PEA SOUP Mad

Slept most of the night holding Buddy's back paw he has been restless
these last few nights getting up during the night meowing going in
and out ,so when he got on the bed I made him lay down put my arm
around him and as I said ended up holding his back paw ,and he slept
till 530am when I got up confused2

Ok back later depending on how LONG it takes to get through to these
idiots telephone

Now hold on a little picking minute
when I first logged in I saw YOU on your
"day in the countryside /honeymoon ,now its David
looked to ME though that you were BOTH
on some HAY STACK
Well had the ultrasound on the artery in my neck
heard the blood as well {Gil used to get that done on his
legs to check on the blockages }
Now I have to wait for them to read it and send the report
to my Dr ,so hope there is NO BLOCKAGE
Its SO HOT TODAY could not WAIT to get home into the A/C
there are big white clouds bubbling up because of the heat
87f but with the 75%b dew point its feeling like 96f in
Bridgeport , fan fan

Blaine does not want a meal on Thursdays as he gets paid today
so being as its only ME I stopped at Pop-Eyes and got four boneless wings
and some fries for my dinner only $5 so worth it not having to cook

Congratulations on Susan getting the keys to the new house

Marge will look if I remember and STAY AWAKE to look for Ian
Saw what Chewy had done I told Melanie she has to PUPPY proof
the house just like when you have a new baby funnytvprog
Guess Bond is settling in as we have not heard from him today
after he said they were eating fruit etc

Linda and I are going for Brunch on Sunday to one of these
"buffet type " eateries in Stratford ,we have one here in Bridgeport
the same but hers just opened so going to check it out

Well I am going for my shower wash the sticky gunk off my neck
as wiping it never feels the same

OK who wants drinks raise your hands cheers

I remember when I was around 13 going with Janice to her church and being blown away by her Vicar coming out and shaking everyone's hand as we left the church, never happened at my church, well you don't in a Catholic Church.

It's a  relief for us all Margaret.....as you say it's been so long, the first date to move was 20th July after all.

Avatar is David on our honeymoon.....well a Sunday out in the countryside, we didn't have a honeymoon.

Hello little darlings,
Listening to a dove calling
his mate this morning.
Seems there is more than one
project going on around here ,
yesterday I came home and one of
the ticky-tacky box houses has
been scooped up and there is nothing but
an empty dirt lot there now! I can hear the
one on the street below is still going. Good
job there is a sound ordinance here of
7:30am.
I am dealing with a sore arm from the tetanus
shot, Dr. warned it might this way for a couple of days.
The dome of high pressure is refusing to budge from
the west so we still are having 80f highs each day and
80% humidity. The weather station says partly sunny
but its more like partly cloudy (meaning more sunny
than clouds.

I confess I was not happy with having religion shoved
down my throat at school ( divinity classes every week)
and having to join our local C of E church in order to be in
Girl Guides!
My parents used it as a way to get me out of the house on
Sunday evening so they could have a bit of alone time.
Religion here in the states is  driven by a strong human
personality and they are supposed to be Gods messenger
on earth but most are false prophets.
The late Billy Graham was one of the genuine ones,
so was Martin Luther King.
As I said I respect everyone's right to believe the way
they want to but object to humans who high jack a
faith for their own ends.
Christians, Jews and Muslims basically all have the same
lessons in their Bible, Tora and Koran.
Its all come down to factions wanting to be the only TRUE
religion and to be king of the hill so to speak.
Right, now that's off my chest!
Melanie sent a photo of what happens when you live alone
and have a puppy looking for mischief. She says she was
in the shower barely 10 minutes and came out to a chewed
up TV remote!
Usually Jim is there to ride herd on him.
Jim is still obeying the courts rules and staying clean in
his half way house because he knows what the penalty
is if he messes up!
Melanie has limited contact with him but he is to stay away
from the house.
She is a lot calmer now about the whole thing due to her
doing the work she needs to do in her 12 step program
with her sponsor.

Carole, I don't know if you have Discovery channel ID
but Ian is in a program called "Someone you thought you knew"
where he plays a killer tonight.
I am having to record it as I may not be home in time from my
meeting here on the west coast.
Doctor is satisfied with my lab results and I still have no major
health issues so its just a matter of keeping up the good work.
Am I 100%, NO but who is at my age!
Vicky, its got to be a relief for them after waiting for so long.

I love the church Susan & Matt got married in, been a couple of times when we've visited Susan, love the service there....Matt's Gran was very involved with that church and is buried there, Matt was in the choir also.....  and it's only a stones throw from where their new house will be, when they finally move....it's the first lot in the chain which is holding everyone up, documents missing etc.    Susan was hoping to move tomorrow, her solicitor is still saying "Don't give up hope you still might move Friday" but if they don't hear by 5pm then she'll be getting in touch with the removers telling them tomorrow is a no go.      We keep waiting for that telephone  to let us know.    Rob's sent a text....thought it was Susan....he's playing Golf it's a Company Away Day.  confused2    he does like his golf though and he's always been good at it.

Wow Carole I bet you were going crazy with worry, 10, 8 & 6 just going off like that.

Well I've eaten toast enough times Carole and my hair is naturally..... straight. Smile

I'm battling through this .....loving it but oh gosh the writing is so tiny, it's all about Margaret Douglas, Countess of Lennox, her uncle was Henry VIII, It's called "The Lost Tudor Princess" by Alison Weir.

Good luck with your ultrasound..

and the one I still see myself and his nurse Lisa
sent me a condolence card yesterday
Wasn't that nice ....
Ok waiting now for 130 to go up for the ultrasound
so going to watch TV for a while
be back later

Sorry Vicky your right we DID
but the CLOSEST we came to find out
to the Church Of England is Episcopalian
regards services etc as Gil's mate Jimmy Pryce
who came over one week after we did with his
wife Eileen and daughter Jackie ,she came with me to various
churches Methodist etc looking for a church around
the Xmas of 1967 as we wanted to attend a Christmas
service found out this to be the closest as I said but they
say that it is only a step down from Catholic teachings

talktohand not that I went often ,but my three did
when we came to Bridgeport they went off on their own
one Sunday crossed two main roads from where we lived
to St Johns Church sat all during the service {a member
of the church ladies guild told me later} stood up to sing
etc went down stairs after the service for the "coffee &"
that was always served after the 11am service and when
asked where they lived she walked them home ..

I was by this time going as no cell phones back then
heard the door bell and looked out to see this lady with my three
10- 8 -and 6 in tow standing by the door ,was ready to LAMBAST
them all ,till she said the church wanted to know who these THREE
POLITE AND WELL BEHAVED children belonged to.....
After that they joined the choir and went regularly while we lived
in that apartment .....

OK so back later... oh eating your toast gives you CURLY HAIR

funnytvprog isn't it not eating your crusts doesn't put hairs on your chest?     BTW oh yes David's got hair on his chest alright.   Smile

I would have thought you'd have just said "Church of England"  when you were asked Carole.

I always told my Gran that the day I finished school was the day I stopped being a Catholic, I used to go to Janice's church after I lift school, she was a Methodist.....though I still couldn't eat meat on a Friday,  the last thing I ever stopped doing, even when I was married I still couldn't dish up meat on a Friday, for a number of years.     My Gran used to say in the 60's the members of the IRA weren't really Catholics....I used to look at her and say "Oh they go in front of their priest and confess to blowing a little kid up and the priest will absolve their sins.....God doesn't though"  our Bob wanted to start a youth club in the church hall.....oh the priest thought it was a good idea as long as only Catholics came, Bob said "Oh no ALL kids are welcome"   Bob never got permission to have the youth club.        But as I was saying to Margaret the Catholic Church has moved on since those days.

Right.......back later.

Morning pal ...
So David only has a small amount of
hair on his chest ,I told Barb she must have
a CARPET on hers funnytvprog funnytvprog

Yes I saw it was Sir G's birthday ....just noticed
he had not been in to chat to you for a while being
as you said he does not look at the posts

Not sure what I am ,its not Catholic was taken to Mr Mabys "church
meetings" since I was 12mths old he held services in Bell Green somewhere
when we came over here we were asked what religion and we
said Episcopalian as it was the closest to what we had back there
but I later found out THAT is only a small step down from Catholic
church teachings
When I was 11 I quit going that was when I had a VOICE to say NO
and that where does it say one has to go to church to believe in God confused2

Anyway hows every little thing this morning ,Oh I hear them picking
up the garden clippings {every two weeks }
Better get my butt in gear

Back later run run run

Yes Margaret but the catholic church NOW is more forward looking, and most practising Catholics won't take offence at an urn of a loved ones ashes being around.......and to be honest most Catholics are hypocrites, they pick and choose which teachings they'll follow, ditching things they don't want to follow.  FACT.    Years ago Catholics weren't suppose to marry a non Catholic.....even having a non Catholic friend was frowned on, I was told off by a Priest because I'd bumped into him the afternoon before and I was with my best friend Janice, a non Catholic (he'd asked her which school she went to)......the next day at school he came into my class and  told me to stand up.....whispers around the class room, shocked look from my teacher.....he then told me to tell the class what I'd been doing the day before....I said in a small voice that I'd been out playing with my friend "FRIEND she calls her" he barked out, then he continued to tell the class this friend was a non catholic....he said I had catholic friends (catholic friends who thought they could do anything during the week because they could go to church on the Saturday and confess it so having the sin wiped away....you say a prayer which starts "Forgive me for I have sinned"  it ends up "And I will not sin again"  trouble is catholics seem not to understand the words "NOT sin again" )  it ended up that I had to look at a statue of our lady (Mary) yes Margaret you're right there, we were taught that Jesus loved his mother and so if you prayed to our lady asking her to ask Jesus to do something for us he'd listen to her and grant it.   Anyway I had to tell our lady that I would give up seeing this non catholic person, I felt terrible saying it because I would never give Janice up, so I was lying to our lady but I also did a silent prayer asking her to forgive me for lying but she knew Janice was a good person. I remember after he'd gone and I was doing my school work my teacher came up behind me and put her hand on my shoulder. which was lovely of her.   But of course Catholics marry non catholics and the kids aren't brought up in the catholic faith as they used to be, had to be.    So as I'm saying the Catholic Church and it's views have moved on.     So please don't move any urn just because a Catholic worker is in your house.

I remember a guy saying to me "You have to wear white shoes on a Sunday"  funnytvprog   he honestly thought Catholics (female) only wore white shoes on a sunday.

David only drinks black coffee Carole.  ....he has it weak though, just over half a level teaspoon.

Yes it was Sir Graham's birthday last month on the 26th.    Yes I did send him a card.

I bet it's hot there Bond.....cooler here, not cold just cooler.   Enjoy yourself.

WELL I NEVER ,no connection
at the  ,one of the BEST WIFI areas
nono ....more like Mrs B was saying
"what you doing on your telephone  put it
away DO" talktohand

Well going to be in the high 80's again here
and high humidity and always a chance of another storm
can it be THAT far away when I will be reporting how much
SNOW and cold temps we are having confused2
Where is that place where its JUST RIGHT 100% of the time
sunny and comfortable during the day and rains at night

Black coffee Bond YUCK would rather go with out thanks
that is how Gil's Aid drank it ,like TAR Mad
Oh talking of Barb she text me saying she was going for three days
orientation at a local nursing home the end of this month as the two
agencies she works for for little hours {12 with Gil gone now of course
8 total with another on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 on Sunday}  have
not found her any to replace the hours she was here and who in this day
and age can survive on 16 hrs a week she was struggling on 28
This way at least she can if she wants later go full time there ,but right
now she said she is keeping her two other patients ,always a risk
you run in the private sector when you lose a person like she did Gil
Adding to her problem she has no car and has to take a bus so needs
the patients to be on the bus line or close to it ,at least Northridge home
is right on Main St and across from one of our local Hospitals St Vincents
So I am glad as I felt sorry for her even though she knew this would
happen as Gil was terminal ..

Anyway today at 2pm its my ultrasound but have to go to the post office
this morning to send the prayer cards off first ...
I think the prayer I chose was very appropriate

So its ♪Polly put the   on and we'll ALL have

MORNING LADIES
Hey Vicky what happened to Sir G he has not been checking up
on you in AGES    funnytvprog  funnytvprog

You would not believe the things that the Mexicans
and South Americans have added to their belief
systems which is the Navajo culture of being
Bad Chee to go near dead people.
as its supposed to bring bad luck. In fact if a native
American dies in his Hogan the north wall is broken
as a sign that a spirit lives there and it should not
be used again. Some other tribes are not so strict.
Even the medical examiner is given special
exemptions if they have to conduct an autopsy.
These were all nomad people so when the Spanish
came to explore California from the gulf of Cortez
to claim it for Spain , they had missionaries with
them to convert the natives who all wove their
own customs into what they learned.
California was Spanish territory for a long time
before it was claimed by the USA.

The figure they worship the most is Mary, mother
of Jesus.

Oh I wouldn't move Peters urn Margaret,  though practising catholics aren't cremated they shouldn't take offence at someone's loved one's ashes.   Certainly not these days, the catholic church is far more forward looking these days anyway.      Tony, who used to drink with Sylvia and me on a Wednesday, had a catholic service in a catholic church but then he was cremated.

Oh Carole if it took me almost a year to get over not thinking I could pick up the phone to call Sylvia it'll take you years to get used to not having Gil around, or not speaking to Gil.....IF you ever do

Morning Marge .I can see I will be the same
in a years time as was telling one of Fran's
staff who lost her Mom a couple of months ago
there is such a lot to do you do not know where
to start ,and she said the same thing about that
also asked if I still felt like I had to "rush" home
as she used to ......

I was looking at urns earlier Marge so adding that
to what I have spent already plus the prayer cards
and postage to send them home will be more added
cost
They should be here tomorrow they just told me
Donna text Spencer AGAIN wanting to know when Gil
was cremated ,even though Spencer had told her either
Thursday or Friday {well it was Thursday at 1pm}
So told him to tell her this and that I would when
I got the cards be mailing one over for her and Gil's other
daughter Zara
Think its time to sit a while with a confused1 or a L & L
if someone is making me one ......

talktohand Oh I could not put up with THAT
Vicky its a rare occurrence that I have not seen my
Dr unless its a time when something came up and
he is fully booked or is away on holiday ...
Well popped over to Fran with the four packages
of adult diapers I had in the bedroom as the supply
that I had in the spare room I gave back to the Hospice nurse
the morning Gil passed as they normally carry a supply of
things around with them in case someone needs something
before they can order them I gave her the hair and body lotion
rubber gloves wipes etc
We got them all free being as Gil was under Hospice so
why would I want to keep them around confused2
Fran said she wished she had known as she has to buy all
those things for her mother who has Dementia ...

Just made some chicken flavored rice and chicken breasts
and my Zucchini dish for Blaine and I got to get into a habit
of making AND BUYING less now Mad
Blaine almost ate the WHOLE container of salad I made last night
with the steaks and the boiled red potato's ,so whats left of the salad
is my lunch with a Jamaican meat patty ...
I am back to holding my own weight wise went back down

I see Marge AND Bond logged in is he still around ?

Back later

It cost us $3,000 if you add in the death certificates
(they came to the undertaker) I got more than I needed
but still have to notify the property tax people which
will surely need an original.
I also got a fancy jar
to put his ashes in as some of the trades people
do not like being around dead people even ashes,
We tend to forget that South of the border their
Catholic customs are different to western ones.
I am not Catholic but respect others who do
not hold the same beliefs as I do.
I did not want to have to put it in the closet
every time work is being done inside the house.
Funerals here can be as costly as weddings with
the cost rising from $10,000 upwards.
It took years to convince Peter to even make a will.
but after he did,he finally saw the light and opened
a living trust for the kids and I.
So nothing went through probate, its a straight
inheritance and it will be in affect when I go.
to be divided equally between both kids.

I am feeling the effects of the Tetanus shot but
it will only be for a couple of days.
I get a copy of my blood results and Dr. whose
specialty is older people is pleased that everything
is within normal limits for me.
Everyone is different so your normal won't be my
normal.

Hope Bond does not forget his hat and sunscreen.

The Carr fire in Northern California is still only
25% contained , that means only that they have
stopped any forward movement not that it is out.
The fire fighters are running out of resources even
with over a 1,000 personnel on the ground.

The fire on the edge of Yosemite is still burning
with little containment. The conditions are perilous
as there are many dead trees , one of which fell on a fire-
fighter and killed him. Its like having 100 ft. matches within
feet of each other. There is a grove of historic trees at the
south end of the park full of trees that are hundreds of
years old and older. but that is in no danger right now.
It is really dangerous terrain in which to fight a fire.
Most of the surrounding areas are choked with smoke
from the fire.

OH, White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit for Carole.

This year has seemed so full so far. I haven't done half
of what I intended to do. Ian tells me he is trying to
come over in October sometime but I don't see the point.
I would rather keep slogging away on my own so I know
where everything is and what is going out the door.
I also work a lot slower than he does.
He did propose a quick trip up to see Melanie meaning
drive all day one day, visit for a day and drive back again.
He is out of his mind!

Well. better get back to work here as it looks like another
day at 80f or more. TTFN

I also got the results from my tests yesterday
Vicky we can check into our DR's via something
called "My chart" they send you your appointment
reminders through this to your  also test results
but I have no idea if they are good or bad until he calls
me ....plus I can email him for prescription refills or even
send a "Non Medical" message like I did telling him of Gil's
passing and he answered back .....

Having Gil cremated cost £1500 Vicky that was bare bones
no service or viewing etc having added the "bells and whistles"
could have risen the $$ up to around $4000 ...but neither Gil
or I want any fuss ...and for what the State gives you would
not even pay for the announcement in the paper ,so God help
you if you have no $$ Gil and I had not even discussed how
I would pay for his funeral ,contacted NO one ,I know Ruth
had everything in place for when she passed ,I think I kept
being in denial really saying if I started calling funeral homes
would be like hurrying the process along ,do you know what
I mean confused2
So when the Hospice nurse gave me the two funeral names
I was glad ,also that Gil HAD saved his work pension every month
for the last months so there was just a little left over after paying
the funeral home ,and of course then there was the newspapers
and the death certificates {$80}
I am waiting now to see what my SS from the UK will be as she
told me when I called obviously Gil's would stop but mine that
was small and based on the little I did work back there but also
on Gil's SS would go up some ,now its normally due this Saturday
so hoping it will be in my bank as I have no idea how much it will be

Rain is starting here ,could see a severe storm around noon
the weatherman is saying so I should away and do what ever I have to do

Be back run run run run run

Oh no the cottage loaf hair style was all the rage over here.

Just telephone  the doctor's surgery to get the results of my blood test, everythings come back normal.    cheers

Yes the cheapest furneral over here is around £4,000 ...and that's the cheapest....and we don't get any help from the government, though I think if you're on very very low income you might get some help, but usually you either pay into an insurance or you hope to have enough money to pay for everything.

Morning hoover  HEY BOND watch the
toes lad talktohand  never mind your in
a rush to clean your "CLEAN" house before
you leave and then your going to pull that
hoover  out AGAIN first thing when you return
Rolling Eyes   how long we gone for a week?

Ahh so you DO remember the cottage loaf
over here they look at me GONE OUT

Yes sometimes Gil did not think back then
ESPECIALLY after he had had a few
did not think I would feel like a wall flower standing
waiting on him to come back to stand with me
or think to introduce me to another wife of one of his
work mates ,funnily enough two of them Fred Tamplin
and John Gulliver {just remembered his last name } are friends
with me on FB after they saw me posting on their old company
site saying how Gil had worked there etc ..
He was SOOOO mad at me as I made him look stupid walking
out like I did in front of all his work mates  ,and of course being
under the influence did not help matters that night until the next
morning when I THINK he realized what he had done
That was my weapon of choice BTW not talking ,but actually
that was our DOWN FALL ,we NEVER talked about our problems
and they all built up over time  Shocked
That and his drinking with his    mates killed us
talktohand don't get me wrong I did some wrong things
but I had good reason 99% of the time

If they can see us Gil would be having a kitten with the things
I am having to do ,he would also be saying how his $$ he used
to keep so close was used to pay for his cremation ,as until his insurance
gets paid out I have no idea what we would have done ,would
they have kept him on ice until I could pay them as all you get
from the Government to help with the burial is $255 and I have not
even got THAT yet the State made an appointment to do it
over the  telephone  on the 13th confused2

SO MUCH PAPER WORK coming and going in this world

OK so lets see whats in the  fridgefood

I had better get going early as I want to drop something off
to Fran today and we have storms brewing ,some strong
with thunder lightening and strong WINDS they are saying

So back later

MORNING MARGE

Have a wonderful trip Bond and watch that sun on those legs and your
BONCE

David was saying the bushes are full of blackberries......have to send him with a dish when he's taking Benjie for his walk.  funnytvprog

We're hearing over here the flu vaccine given to us old codgers  was the wrong one and everyone's got a really bad case of flu.   talktohand  neither David or me took up their kind offer.          Matt's Mum's had the shingles twice.    Very painful.   I had chicken pox when I was a toddler Carole.

Oh I had my hair like that as well Carole......cottage loaf.      that wasn't very nice of Gil to just go off and leave you.  Mad  good for you walking out......hope you gave him the silent treatment for days.     Some men just never think.

BTW Carole of course our loved ones can still see us.....Gil will still be around.

 Ouch Bond. hoover

well Marge first off ,if your GP
is happy then we ALSO are as we need you here
for a LONG LONG time ....I have never had
the shingles vaccine Marge either Gil ,I know
I could be at risk as I did have chicken pox TWICE
the first time very mild ,the 2nd time when I was
having Tracie and the Dr who came to the house
back then Dr Laird near the Red House on Stoney Stanton Rd
apologized to my Mum as he told her "don't be RIDICULOUS madam"
when she called and said she thought I had them ,luckily
it was only a mild attack
Cannot remember when I had my last tetanus shot either

I had the "cottage loaf " look after having Tracie Vicky
do you know what that was ?
Gil and I were going to a do where he worked and I had my hair done
and bought a new dress it was brown with a thin black stripe fitted
into the waist with a flared shirt ,I felt like a million bucks until
we got to where the do was being held The Chesford Grange ,Gil walked
off and left me standing like an idiot knowing no one ,and then I saw him
chatting to and laughing with a female employee ,THAT was all she wrote
as back then the GREEN EYED MONSTER was very evident as I was very
insecure never quite knowing WHY Gil picked ME to marry confused2
Anyway I took off called for a taxi went back to my mums who was
watching Tracie and went home to Bolingbroke Rd ,where my
RAGING husband came home after first going to Shuttle st
looking for me
I never knew just how MUCH my husband loved me really until
we remarried this time around and we talked about it all
in 1995 Sad

I see you two saying how shy you were as was I back then
one of the things that SHOCKED Gil when we saw each other
again in '95 as I had become someone who was very independent
{had to be raising three kids on my own all those years}
and it was something that bugged him even just before he passed
as Spencer knew he was his Dad and loved him but had thought of me as
BOTH Mum and Dad for over 25yrs bringing us very close even more so than
to Tracie and Blaine being the baby of the family ........

I keep hearing the song that one of his favorite singers/actresses
sang in Yentel ,"Papa can you hear me ,Papa can you see me"
Barbara Streisand......there was another song that could have been
written for us that I found out he used to play over and over
cannot think of the name right now but the words are very
meaningful
I wonder if our departed loved ones can SEE US confused2
have found myself talking or saying something to him
since he has been gone Shocked

The funeral home called today his ashes are ready ,so they
will bring them down when they come to Bridgeport
according to the owner at least once a week as they are located
way up near the capital of CT Hartford

OK so have a good night you all who left that soapbox out

OH talking of telling time I once said to Chelsea its 1/4 of
she had no idea and said for me to say WHAT the time REALLY was headbanger

Glad to hear that everything is fine Margaret.

If they know where the oven is Bond.....cooking in an oven is something they also haven't a clue about.       I was listening to the radio this morning and young kids are starting school not able to communicate  of course this guy said "It's because parents these days are poor"  I said to the radio (I often talk to the TV or radio)  "You mean they're so wrapped up in their mobile phones texting they haven't got time to talk to their babies"   Mad

Well another shot, had the Pneumonia shot last week
and Tetanus today. The New Shingles shot is not
available yet on the medical insurance so if
you want it now ,it will cost $300!
I will wait I think as I did have the old one a few years
ago.
Other that that ,I am in relatively good health.
Liver and Kidney readings are stable and blood
pressure is within the normal limits.
No serious complaints just normal aging.
She is happy so I am happy too.

Evening all no Im here and now so the bars open
What you were saying about the 24 hour clock Marg its gone over he other way with the kids as a lot of the clocks are digital they can't tell the time with the old style clocks
Mrs b was saying people would be shocked at how many kids can't tell the time, if they put something in the oven, at say twenty after the hour and give twentyfive minutes what time do we take it out they wouldn't have a clue

You looked like my mate and Spencer's God
Mother Pauline Smith in that picture Vicky
We worked together at the Tilehill coop
before I got married in '59 and we stayed friends
but lost contact with her after we came over here
The look is the duster your wearing she and I had
our pictures taken in our uniforms that were nylon
coats we wore over our clothes ,Pauline would
always wear hers minus the belt and she was standing
like your standing

Just put the salad together and made some small red
potato's

Hope Marges check up  went well

I am going to have to but the bullet and go see
why the bottom of my right foot is hurting ,once I
start walking on it it gets easier ,but after sitting
or even laying in bed it's agony ivy at first
I had something similar years ago when I was still working
and I had to have a shot of cortizone right into my heel
in this foot long needle (well it was really LONG)
Would not want to redo THAT again it HURT

SO IS Bond still on duty or still riding the buses
could do with a L and L

Watching BBC news right now

Been to little Palmers,  I had salad (they do lovely side salads) and then a trifle....and a cuppa.    Needed to buy a birthday card.

Gosh gone are the days when a bus fare was only a penny.   No Margaret you still don't get change have to have the right money.  and no Carole the driver is just there to  :driver:

Oh I used to be really shy as well Margaret.....though these days it's ....yeahhhh here I come and it's David who's the  "Do we have to go?"  now..    Though saying that it was a nightmare when Susan got married and David wasn't with me while I walked into the church and to the front....Rob was going to walk with me, supposed to have done but Matt's Mum told him that the Best Man would walk with me....well Terry met me just outside the church and that was it,  I walked in alone, almost ran to the front, in fact I almost over ran it  Smile   and Matt's Mum had told Steve & family & Rob & family to move back a pew so that the bridesmaids could sit in that pew, they sat at the front next to me, so we ended up with an empty pew behind us, and Steve, Rob & families sitting with guests.   and I never noticed until it was too late to move everyone forward to their rightful place.   Talk about Shirley taking over that day.   Mad

We always take a travel iron Bond, or used to when we went on holiday.....though I never packed until the night before or even that day.

Yes they say fact is stranger than fiction Carole......my new avatar is when I was 16, the duster coat I borrowed from Bob's wife Margaret.

wow thought I was seeing things
Marge funnytvprog
Yes all well VIcky guess I drank enough water
as I also had to give a sample as well as cough
up enough blood to satisfy TWO doctors my GP
and the thyroid Dr
When I got home Spencer had sent me a video
of where he and Carmen are staying in her uncle's house
that used to be her mother's and where Carmen grew up
He has renovated it and it's right across the road from
the sea beautiful views ,but I can hear Spencer cannot wait
to come home as I said no $$$ it's going to be boring

Next thing for me is the ultrasound on Thursday

I should have remembered the buses have no conductors
Marge ,but if you asked the driver would he not yell out your stop?

I don't know Vicky you could certainly write a mystery novel
on your life they really wanted to keep you a big secret

Marge hope your visit went well
I have taken steaks out for Blaine and I for dinner along with a salad
I think it's going to take a while to sort everything out of Gil's
clothes ect
Can imagine exactly what you have been going through Marge Sad

Be back later

Don't get scared, its 5:40am here.
I am awake early because I was too tired
to finish what I was doing last night so
am getting an early start today.
My Dr. appointment is 10am so plenty of time
yet. The office is only a couple of miles away
but need to leave just after 9;30am to allow
for traffic, parking etc.
I was going on the bus to the infants at
Gosford Park school at 5 years old. It
cost three pence one way.
It was because of the giant Humber Ave hill
from the bottom of Acacia Ave.
I should have gone to St Michaels infants but
it was where all the rough kids went.

Carole, Buses haven't had conductors for years.
Its just a one man operation now. mores the pity.
Its scan your oyster card or put the right amount
of change in the slot (they don't make change, or
they didn't the last time I rode a bus in Coventry.)
Guess they will take credit cards now!
Only thing that threw me was that the timetables
at the bus stops were 24 hour ones.
3:30pm is 15:30pm and so on.
I see they did away with the Bendy-Buses which
I found were fun to ride in.
No open platforms now either.
You get on at the front by the driver as that's where
you pay.

Vicky, we didn't know that others lived more normal lives
than we did at home. It was all we knew.
I grew up with no social skills what so ever and was shy
and introverted to the extreme. People were forever saying
"Cat got your tongue ?"
I still have a hard time going into a room of strangers and
making eye contact with someone. I have always had
Peter beside me to give me confidence.
I am better now than I was but still get the anxiety building
up in me at places like the Airport.
Must go and get ready for the day here. TTFN

Hope all goes well today Carole.

Yes it was a rough life but of course I didn't realise it.....you don't it was the normal, years ago one of my cousins came here with his wife and he was saying how I also looked as though I didn't belong, when I went to Liverpool (my Liverpool relatives all knew about me)  to my great aunt Ruth's who had 7 boys,  I'd stand up until great aunt Ruth or my great uncle Ted would say "Well sit down child"   though I was different once I was away from my Gran,

The cruelty inspector came to see me twice.....once I was hidden in the attic (I must of been in a bad way) but I was told not to make a sound or he'd take me away and put me in a dark room for ever.     The second time he was really lovely got down to my level and said "Does your Gran ever hit you?" of course my Gran was standing behind him shaking her head so I said "No" he said "Never?" and I said, what had been drummed into me "Only when I'm naughty" and he said "And are you naughty often?" and I said "Good girl sometimes not so often"   now an experienced Inspector would think "That child's learnt those words"  as I had, but he said "Oh dear well you mustn't be naughty must you" and I said "No"  my Gran was smiling at me, and he was taken in, as was I AGAIN,  because as soon as he'd gone I was knocked from one side of the room to the other.        Though when my Gran died I sobbed my heart out......strange.     I grew up keeping out of Will's way and not upsetting my Gran.     Will was in the Army so I only saw him on leave when he came to visit his Mum, so that wasn't too bad,  though he left the army when his second wife Iris (who was lovely though Will did bully her, telling her not to wear make-up or earrings etc.....though David stopped me wearing earrings and one of the holes healed up so I now have to wear clip ons) anyway Iris became ill with Cancer and then died and he and his two children came to live with us, he was the same with Linda who was 7, one day coming home from work I could hear Linda screaming I ran in and my Gran was sitting in a chair, Michael who was 5 was standing looking at his Dad and Linda was curled up on the floor while Will was hitting her with his belt, I grabbed her hand and we ran into the bathroom and locked the door, I was just about to get married and I shouted through the door "When I get married Linda comes to live with me" Will yelled back "You look after Linda, you can't look after yourself"  anyway when he had calmed down we came out, the next day I got Linda to write her other Nanny a letter saying she wanted to go and live with her.....a week later Iris's brother Ron came to collect Linda,  Michael was Will's blue eyed boy so he was fine, and so until she was 12 she lived with her other Nanny then Will remarried and Linda went back to her Dad, but Kathleen wasn't a good step Mum to either of the kids.     Families eh.

Oh how exciting for James to go on his first bus ride.....Jack has to get a bus to go to school Bond.         As you said how times have changed.....Steve & his mates used to spend a day hopping on and off trains, train spotting, he was about 13/14 when he first did it, though of course trains are too expensive these days anyway but you'd think twice before saying it was ok to go off for the day jumping on and off trains.

Wow we all sent the same card Carole.....fancy that,  I just thought "That's the one"  when I read it.

That's what I would worry about the clothes needing to be ironing  when I unpacked.

Ok waiting for Benjie to bring David home........later.

Morning Bond ,BOY James has never
been on a bus alone and your having to show
him the "ropes" how old is he ?
Not being mean but whats to do with getting a bus
paying your fare and getting off at your stop and
if your not sure ask the conductor to give you a heads
up at your stop
I think your right if that is today's generation too pampered

Well here we are at Tuesday ,time traveling SO fast
Vicky thank you for the card ,funnily enough Gil's sister Pam
who I went to school with and my sister Wendy both sent
IDENTICAL ones ,whats that great minds ....
Also had one from Nick ,the old man Georges nephew
and CPA whom I used to take George to his Dr's appointments along
with an unexpected gift of a check to help
with any expenses ,totally unexpected
He is such a nice man .....

Getting close Bond for your off day no do you have to ironing
everything after you unpack ?

The weatherman is saying its going to be another dry day until
we change tomorrow sunny in the 80's
He is also saying nothing on the Hurricane chart being seen
yet but because the season goes to November its early yet
but so far the Atlantic is clear

Hope Vicky and Marge had a good night ,as for me I am off to get
my blood work done ,then back to my one and ONLY

Back later run run run

I only remember being in the bar with
Gil when down at the Donkey {Golden Horse}
on Smith St which was Maggie and Bill's local as it ran across
the top of Peel Street and of course when Gil was living with them
after coming down from Middlesborough at 16 he started going in there
as well
I only remember that ONE time though in the late 50's
as normally as Marge said the ladies all went in the back room
or the garden if you had kiddies which is what Gil did a couple
of times after having Tracie in 1960 he would sit outside with
her in her pram
You really had a rough upbringing didn't you Vicky

Well the humidity is back and the clouds are rolling in
ready for a possible thunder storm tomorrow .....

Did get a telephone from Spencer earlier this morning
while charging his cell phone ,he sounded like a bear with a
SORE HEAD ,snappy ,so I told him to go take a NAP !!
I know he would not have slept on the and after
all that running around Sunday and then :driver: to New York
he was probably over tired ...

Had a call from Linda she is REALLY keeping close taps on me lol!

Marge just looking at that fire closer to you in Cranston
So sad the grandmother and her two great g/kids losing their lives
and showing the Grandad saying how his great grandson called him
to come get them as the fire was at the back door Sad

A 1000 structures gone flattened the weatherman saying temps
should be just a few degrees lower tomorrow but still in the 100's

OK I see the "barman" has retired so I will just make my own
L & L going to get my blood work done tomorrow and having
the ultrasound for the carotid artery on Thursday that my GP
had ordered but had to hold off till they put me back in the program
so they pay my copay ....still waiting on the 4 mths they OWE
me to be sorted .......

So hope I remember only to DRINK WATER during the night

Speak tomorrow Rolling Eyes
