I found this in a small address book one of his
cousins in Middlesborough had sent him years
ago no date on it ,obviously a school picture
and all it says on the back is Gilly we think this is you
Well I can see it was most certainly him he always
had these bags under his eyes and its his chin and
the Bourne nose etc all Gilly Bourne  funnytvprog
Was talking to Barb about people going grey
her Ex and her old boyfriend both WHITE now
Gil never went white  just a few touches
but not a lot ,still had black hair when he died

Morning Vicky things went BUMP starting
around 11pm last night and the
came down ,Buddy flew off of Gil's chair
where he seems to have taken over ,and
was sitting on the top stair in the dark all
curled up and hugged into me when I picked
him up ,for a BIG cat he DOES NOT LIKE
storms ....
Going to be on and off like this all day and part of
Sunday the weather man is saying confused2
My lawns have never looked so good ,its all the
heat PLUS the we have had this year
last year it was going brown in patches ,not this year tho

Well how nice of your "boss" to have sent you a lovely lovely
card now tell him to start SPEAKING /POSTING
on here ,I promise not to touch him talktohand HONEST

Bond hope your wearing gloves otherwise it will be the BLACK?BLUE
We had blackberries growing in the entry behind Purcell RD as that used
to be all open fields before the council built houses on the land next to
Nan & Grandads house ,Shuttle Street Heddle Grove Weavers Walk Clark Street
all that was there when I was growing up were fields and COWS ....

Well I am pissed a bit now seems they tried to deliver the plaque I had made
for Gil's urn yesterday and did not leave it in the mail box as my post person
normally would do WHY I am not sure unless I have to sign for it
Must have been just before I got home after dropping Barb off judging
by the attempted delivery time headbanger

I give and have given a LOT of clothes in the past to Goodwill and the
Salvation Army charity stores Vicky ,but they do not resell them
for THAT cheap ,and I much preferred to have the Vets GIVE the
veterans an item free rather than have to pay for it ,I know a LOT
of them are homeless ,, talktohand SHAMEFUL really when you see them
after being in the services

OK so I am off going to call the Post Office first to see if they have
my mail before I go down when they open at 9am today headbanger

MORNING Marge hope your was enjoyable

BOND STOP EATING THEM BLACKBERRIES

Morning.......grey out.

That's lovely knowing someone will be able to make good use of Gil's clothes.......I do give all my clothes, which are still good, to the Air Ambulance charity shop, they do sell their clothes but only from a couple of pounds to maybe £10, and of course the money goes to the Air Ambulance.

Yes seems he's got a new password, so didn't need to join again.    I got a lovely, really lovely  birthday card off him.

Oh warm crumpets please Bond.

Oh finished my book, yes it wasn't too bad,  it'll go on the charity shelf though.   The one I started  reading last night in bed.....is "Don't Wake Up" by Liz Lawler it was one of the books    bought me  I'm now sure I've seen it on the TV in a "TV Drama"  and also I discovered I've bought the book already.headbanger     though I can't remember the ending.

Later......oh new avatar Susan aged 7.

Your another one who does not look
their age Vicky ,Barb was saying this morning
about the picture of Gil on the prayer card was
a nice photo of him I said yes he was 58 she
said no way he did not look that old ,and many times
when we would go to Drs etc and he would say his age
everyone always said he did not look his age
We took 6 bags altogether to the veterans Blaine
took two after Barb and I dropped off 4 and said
they were hanging up the clothes I had dropped off
earlier I guess they hand out the clothes as the Vets
come in
I still have some more sweaters to take over ,makes me feel good
that someone will get some use out of Gil things at no cost to them
I dropped Barb off for her 130pm appointment
and picked up some boneless chicken tenders from PopEyes

Got a very quick shower as I pulled up but stopped fast
and the sun's out again and OH IS IT HUMID out there
and just got a severe thunderstorm warning g on my cell
as I am typing this with 74% dew point it feels like 97f

So think I may take my shower early as I hate being in
there when there's thunder and lightning around

Barb folded all my washing while she was here said she
misses coming over

Ok Marge enjoy your tea ,your getting to be quite the
social butterfly lol so there goes your haircut you were
going to get Smile

I wear clean undies also every day Vicky that would be a
nasty habit wearing them a couple of days in a row Sad but

As to heels I wore 3" ers  for years was only after I had my
back operation that I stopped just could not walk far in heels
anymore

Alright let me get going
Back later

talktohand  Oh my undies are washed every day without fail....unless I'm poorly, but anyway my undies are changed every day Margaret, I don't wear thongs as much ....sorry Bond....but I do wear nice undies. always,   And yes they do say thongs aren't good for us women.        As for heels I thought I would never wear anything else, then did my foot and though I do have high heels again I only wear them every so often.

A select few eh......and what are you wearing?    We want details......ok I want details.   Smile .

Thongs are another male invention of course!
It can cause nasty skin irritations you-know-where.
if not washed often enough.
Its like super high heels that no woman in her
right mind has any business wearing.
Men think they are sexy too but cause many
foot and ankle problems. They were never meant
for every day wear. Enough said.

Once again my plans for today have been changed
as Nancy (our latest widow) is having a "tea" this
afternoon for a select few.
As I was cleaning up all the things left on the kitchen
counters from the day before I decided( while I had
hot water in the bowl in the sink) to empty the two
drawers with all the cutlery in them and clean
out the divided trays in there.
I dried them and put everything back where it should be
and its all clean again.
I was going to sort out the cupboard under the drawers
today, its does not need cleaning but I want to get it
a little bit better arranged than it is with the most used
stuff at the front. Ian had everything slotted in there
just to get as much as possible back in after
sorting through the items and deciding what I
didn't need anymore last year.
Cleaned out the under
the sink cupboard when the plumbers were here earlier
this year. Now its the two large drawers in the unit
between the stove and fridge. I need some dividers.
Its one drawer and one shelf at a time here in this heat.

I went tearing out of here in Big Red last night to my meeting.
On arrival I found that I had switched all the literature into BB
so had to write a note on the board and drive home and throw
it all into BR and drive like a crazy person back up the hill!
It only delayed the start by 15 minutes!
Next week we will be meeting in the upper conference room
on the other side of the retreat so it will be another dizzy
roundup of attendees who have no idea what they are doing
and where they are supposed to go.
I sometimes wonder how these people manage when they are
out in the world!
I now know what it must feel like to be a shepherd with no
sheep dog!
I can take my car up the service road at the back of the retreat so
don't have to carry all the gubbins up those stairs.

Well, I had better complete what I started yesterday and then find
something to wear for the "tea". TTFN

Went to big Palmers .....had jacket potato & salad and a trifle.

I'm friendly with one of the assistants there, in fact she goes through the books I take for the charity shelf before they land on the shelves.  I spoke to her the other day and she was telling me about some books she'd just read, she apologised because she tried to get the books for me but the friend of a friend wanted them back, not that I expected her to do that, I saw her again today and she was apologising again.   Anyway I've put the titles down, a trilogy "Sow The Seed" "Reap The Harvest" & Plough The Furrow"  by Margaret Dickinson. she said they're really good.

The avatar is me at the christening of my cousins granddaughter.....I was 41, it just seems like yesterday when this was taken, & I'd gone blonde.

Yes those bars look really yummy....I can understand people liking them.

Red Lobster Carole...... talktohand don't tell me they have them live swimming around before you order one? Sad

was like that Carole kept saying "I don't want to wear a hearing aid" because she was worried people would see it.....wouldn't have it you don't see them these days they fit so well into your ear.

Ok speak later......off out.

All I can say is WHY BOTHER
only good for splitting a "fart" in 1/2 Rolling Eyes

Well glad you had a good day Vicky and yes to the
cheesychipraid next week ,but I will pass on the ice cream
only get in the mood for it once in a while ,did you see the Avatar
of the Klondike bar? they come 6 in a pack

You will be good till Xmas with your Dots then I see ....

Hotter weather I see Marge's side again these next few days
100f+ saw a fireman was killed yesterday in what they are saying
was a Firenado {Tornado} while evacuating a family ...

We have been told the storms that will be coming our way later
today and into tomorrow could produce some severe conditions Shocked
but at least the day should be only sunny and CALM

Hope Marge was able to get some sleep with that heat
I wish she had central air ........

Well Linda called me last night laughing at my text as I told
her what Tracie had said about finding her "dad" on her doorstep
and how she carried him/box with her as they took the dogs for
their walk
We discussed where we should go to eat and so next Friday we
are first going to the Red Lobster here in Bridgeport where Gil had
been a number of times ,and NEXT we would go to the Olive Garden
which is the other side of where she lives in Stratford in Milford
She said her husband George who is the same age as me and Marge
just broke down and got hearing aids ,and could not BELIEVE what
a difference they made ,like most people he was concerned people
could SEE them but not these days as she had to have them herself
a few months ago as like me using the phone so much over the years
at work had taken some of her hearing away from her ,the only
problem they are SO expensive...she said she just finished paying for hers
but as I said George is in good health so they should do this for his quality
of life for what ever time they have left together.

I know Gil would have benefited from them as he lost a lot of his hearing
working as a Drop Forger for 40yrs but he would not hear of it talktohand

OK so this girl had better get going as Barb will be here between 9 -930am

Be back later

Bond get that girl a wrap Mad

Yes Carole you can get them at the Harvester, which is where I'm going with  on Monday.....I'll bring you back some  cheese  chips and a knickerbocker Glory as well if you want.

That reminded me Bond of when David & I went to Cyprus and we flew to Egypt, we were sat on the coach winding our way through the streets of Cairo and the coach had come to a stop we looked out of the windows, the girls in the seats in front of us started to giggle they had seen what we had....this guy with a load of loaves on a big plate on his head was calmly having a wee in the gutter, he looked up saw us all staring and looked puzzled,  confused2  "Why are these people staring at me, I'm just having a wee"  of course what went through our minds was "And people will buy those loaves"   Mad

I did have a lovely day Bond thank you.

Love this photo.....school sports day Sharon (Jessica's mum) and me having the giggles over something and David caught us. I'm in the green & white top

Thanks Marge just sent Linda a text
asking her thoughts on Olive garden
she says I always make her funnytvprog
as I know what I want to eat before we go
any where and she normally says she will
also have what ever I said I wanted funnytvprog

Hopefully your side will get a break like we should be
next week Marge
That would be a nice gift to Barry ,I also would
love to go a little further back on my dad's side
I only met my nan and granddad Osborne once when
I was 2 before my parents divorce so do not remember
them ,and met once my dad's sister Peg when we went to
Newbury once when I was old enough to remember her
and my cousin who they called Donker and his dad Ray
Have no idea why we were there then unless it was a time
when my mum was trying to get back with my dad
My dad said he traced our family back until it got too
expensive ,said the Osborne line went back to Spain

Well went to little Palmers had side salad....and an individual trifle which is so yummy.   I'm just content now. not too hungry or  too full but just right  Smile    I'll have to take a photo next time.

Oh yes I can have a couple of "Dots"  every so often Carole IN FACT I've still got some from Christmas.  bounce   yummy.  talktohand  only around 5 or so left.    As to the thorntons I know how careful I'll have to be, others will have to help me eat them too.

Just been talking to  on the telephone

Yes heard about Aretha Franklin when we were driving to Palmers.

Bond get your hands out of my trifle, what have you dropped in there?

Thank you for the birthday wishes Margaret.

Yes Ian has no need to worry you've got good friends around you to help if/when needed.

First let me say belated Happy Birthday to Vicky.
I was out the door very early and did a catch
up an all the outstanding errands (7 in all )
I got home and unpacked it all before taking a well
deserved nap!
We have a new member in our British Ladies group
from San Pedro. I only learned so far that she is from London
originally. She joined in our silliness with ease.
I had a Pasta salad and a glass of Rose wine and the always
great salad they make.
my bill came to $27 and change. They do have (at least in our
one) a twofer, buy one , take one home with you at a reduced
price which many of the ladies who don't cook, liked.
Suggest you look for specials and coupons online or,
dare I say it, Senior discounts. tongue (lunch should be
a little cheaper).

Its currently 72f and humidity is at 81%, we are also a little
overcast right now with a lot of Thunder and Lightning and short
sharp heavy showers in the deserts and valley areas which cause
all the dry creek beds to flood to over flowing very quickly.

Ian and Rebecca are off to Provence today for a little R&R and
also to check on anything that needs taking care of. There
is a caretaker but he is more of a outdoors man. Guess he pays
a local woman to wash all the linen after they leave and clean
house. The back property is about two footy fields wide and long
and has a small stream running along one edge of the property.
the original winery house is really old so in the 30s someone
built a more up to date building to live in after the former
owners gave up the small wine business.
Lots of Brits have holiday homes in the area.
I assured Ian I could look after myself for 10 days and that if
something came up I have people here who I can call.

I have set myself the task of completing the ancestry search
for Ian's FIL who wants to know more about his grand father
who was killed in the first world war not long before the war
ended. I have rough notes so can pick up where I left off
now my printer is working.
I have enough paper and Ian says there is a spare black ink
cartridge in the drawer so I just need to get going on it.
If I cannot complete it for his birthday at the end of the month,
I will certainly finish it in time to take it to Barry on my Xmas trip.

Hope you had a wonderful day Vicky, God Bless.

WOW Vicky and I could SHARE that with Marge
Bond ,maybe AFTER my salad I just threw together

Glad you liked the earrings and that you had some nice gifts
Vicky ,can you still eat the "Dots"
Better go easy on those Thornton's as well nono

I just took my 4x4 through the car wash and had it cleaned
in and OUT for a treat instead of just having the outside washed
like I normally do ,they did a good job ,I am then taking it to
Tony whom Spencer used to work for some years ago ,and have him look
it over and "fix' anything he finds besides what i tell him its needing
like finding out why its not blowing FULL blast in the A/C mode or heat
and I can hear a noise when I turn the wheel too far that Spencer
said it could mean I need ball joints ,and also my Abs light from my brakes
is on from one of the tires Spencer said it could run with out fixing its
just to tell me its not working on that tire ...
Other wise the 2005 GMC Envoy is running well

Anyway time for the feed bag ...BOND get them legs elevated
and DRINK water nono

Well not a good morning weather wise......but the gardens needed it.

Had it cut back into style.....in fact I was pampered, & they didn't know it was my birthday,  Laura washed it, Sarah cut it and Cassie styled it.

Had lots of lovely presents Carole......and thank you for the lovely earrings, just love them ....and sweets  and the birthday card, just me. Smile       David gave me £100....Steve & Claire got me a book which was on my list and a £10 gift card for M&S, and a great card off Jack & Lily Rob got me a book off my book list and a large box of thorntons chocs, Susan & Matt bought me a mulberry  bounce  card case, which I love.  Bev bought me a bag, & necklace.....  bought me a book and some cake forks, I'd said when she was here the other month and I had to give her an ordinary  fork for her cake "One day I'll get some cake forks"  I wasn't hinting, never thought about it, so it was amazing when I opened the second present.     and I've got a £10 gift card for Waterstones to buy a book off Rachael & Lee.    So I've been really spoilt.    And  is taking me to the Harvester to have some chips next week.

No Graham sent me an email saying he couldn't get in, his password didn't work, he thought he'd been blocked .....I did tell him how to get a password again, (it states if you'd forgotten your password you can get another password without having to join again), OR to just re-join.

Well the sunny  is coming out.

Later.

If you go into "Memberlist" all our members, past & present, are there with the number of postings done, Sir Graham states 0.....other past members have their numbers still along side their name. And Graham says he hasn't been able to log on as though he's been blocked.

Thank you for your birthday wishes also Carole.

I'll have to have a look for those Klondike bars ......they seem yummy.

talktohand  Oh Margaret I can remember when I was about 10 being taken to the circus and we got there early and sat down (I was with my future Aunt Margaret, she married Bob)  and the clowns came round talking to the children, I was not happy, I was sitting right back in my seat, as far away as I could get and my Aunt said "Stop being stupid"  and he said "No no she's not stupid,  not everyone likes clowns, we have funny faces, scary faces to some people she certainly is not stupid" he then winked and said "Enjoy the show little one"  and I smiled at him and he winked again.....of course I laughed & laughed at the clowns antics, but I'm sure that clown made my worries less because of his lovely comments.   I'll always remember those words, nice being told I wasn't stupid.   littleBlond

You know my Gran took me when I was about 5 to see a Bing Crosby & Bob Hope film, every time we went into the town and walked by the cinema I wanted to go and say "Hello" to Bob Hope, I wouldn't have it he didn't live in that *house*   my Gran told me I'd run up the steps and go "Bob Hope in there, I want to say hello"  I even said once I wanted to go and live with him...."No I want to live with him" when my Gran said he lived a long  way away I said "No he lives there"  Awwww!!    Have to say Susan loved The Wizard Of Oz" ....she was about 6, it was on the TV and I wasn't sure she'd be ok, I was ready to switch it off.....but no she loved it so much we bought her the video that christmas....she must have watched it around 5 times a week for over a year, she'd say "Please can I have the wizard of oz on again?" the boys what go "Oh not that film again"  but she just loved it......she carried on watching it for years.    I'm with you Margaret that witch is scary.....not a nice witch at all.

Avatar is Rob and his mate Jonathon, 14, playing golf, Rob's the one who's got hold of the flag.
