Oh well are we surprised?      Rob sent a text to his Dad yesterday afternoon asking if he could pick him up and drop him into the town, he was meeting up with Craig  (the guy who used to be in the band)  to go and watch the match....after the match he then walked back, though by then it was midnight and of course the street lights are out and it's really dark, so he phoned his Dad and said which road he was walking down and could he pick him up and then drop him home.

Bond.....you killed it?    Didn't you have the "I-Spy Butterflies & Months" book when you were younger?     I did......used to go around catching butterflies in a jam jar to then look through the book and find out the name of the butterfly..... nono  shouldn't really done that even though as soon as we spotted it in the book it was let go. it can damage their wings.   Used to catch months in the evening when they were attracted to the light.    I think that's most likely why I'm not scared of months.     Or Daddy Long legs. Smile     And that month isn't that big Bond.

Oh well......later.

I think Croatia BRIBED the ref
as they were moaning at the end of 2nd half
and again at the beginning ,and he had a different attitude
the 2nd half seeming to be BLIND at some of the fouls made
that he IGNORED and said play on headbanger

Wahhhhhhh

MAKE mine a TRIPLE Bond Mad

Cloudy here right now at 6pm and MUGGY as a passing
system passes us by
Sun returns tomorrow

You take it easy Marge don't over exert yourself nono

And Vicky has been in seclusion all day I see ...

Well tomorrow I have a few telephone to make as
the lady at the State last Friday said if I had not heard
anything by tomorrow {Thursday} I should call her back
on her direct line
Also have to call the British Society who have given me some
help as was told I would receive that by today

Ok so I am off to lie down ,I don't know about Gil
one day he acts like he is at deaths door the next quite
the opposite confused2
Hospice nurse not coming now until Friday as they had an
emergency this morning when she had planned to come
check on him

Speak tomorrow have a good night

Well, Lorna and I carried back a few more
patio items last night, only the weighted
umbrella bases left now. We stopped
after the patio glass table and chairs
and the two umbrellas as we were both
dripping with sweat!

We can feel that it is not quite as hot during the
day but still feel exhausted from the heat and
humidity. Right now most of the brush fires are
contained if not out.

There was one at Griffith Park which is our biggest
urban recreation park. With a golf course, riding stables,
the grand art deco observatory and hiking trails
and the outdoor Greek Theatre along with the Zoo!
It was contained pretty quickly but did cause some damage
to a few parked cars as well as the chaparral cover in the
park.
It always makes me smile to see even with smoke obscuring
their view , the golfers played on!
Not going to commit to anything until AFTER the game today.
Belgium was the only team to beat England and they got beat
by France!
Croatia looks like a strong team on paper but one never knows
who is the strongest on any given day.
GO ENGLAND!

Morning folks ....your up and in early Vicky
where you off to as its no Wednesday cheese cheesychipraid
day anymore ...BTW have you heard from Bev?

Yes a BIG weight off his and my mind as once he gets
caught up he will be able to contribute to the household
bills /rent again
I know he is not thrilled about working for Jim again
he is a hard man to work for ,but its a JOB as nothing else was
forthcoming .......

Weather today should start to lose some of this humidity the weather
man is saying and be in the high 80's again rest of the week and all
the way into next week {we DO need some rain } they are watching
the Cat 2 hurricane Chris that is off to our right winds right now 105mph
gusting to 125mph but its only going to impact the sea as its turning
out into the Atlantic and away from shore

Spencer went to the dentist last night had a cleaning and goes back Thurs.Friday
for two small fillings as that is all he needs ,right now he has insurance through
the State being as he had no $$ income ,but once he starts work that will
probably end as he will be earning too much ,he could have kept it
if his income was going to be less as Barb gets it {called Husky} so Spencer
is trying to get the services he can while he can confused2

Not sure if Blaine will be going into work today as he stayed home
all day yesterday in bed after coming home not feeling well Monday
we shall see at 540am {that is when he gets up}

Hospice nurse and Hospice Social worker never arrived yesterday
Corine called me saying she was not going to make it so will be coming
first thing today before Barb gets him washed up and dressed as
she wants to look at his "skin" he was having problems on his bottom area
but its been healing nicely ,but she needs eye ON herself confused2
The social worker on the other hand drives me NUTS
as all she says is how Gil LOVES me and is scared ,well I KNOW ALL THAT
just one more person in the house that both Gil and I HATE as
you REALLY have no privacy any more , talktohand don't get me
wrong I appreciate all they are doing ,its just that your life is not
your OWN ANYMORE headbanger

OK had my moan for the day

Linda posted all these pictures on FB of her trip to Greece
they are back in Athens now for the last leg before flying home
they celebrated her husband Georges 76th birthday as well
as their youngest G/son birthday with family ,she said
her SIL and daughter had pulled out ALL the stops to make
it a trip of a lifetime that they would never forget as the last time
SHE was there was 49 yrs ago when her and George married
in Athens ,George like Gil did a few times at the beginning returned
MANY times but she never did as she like I DID had to work to pay for
the trips George went back every two years

Anyway I must away the Therapist will ALSO be here at 10am
♪ ALL ABOARD STANDING ROOM ONLY♪

MORNING Marge and LASTLY

LETS GOOOOOOO ENGLAND headball

Well done France!
Very good game, Like England they have
a fairly young team who played as hard as Belgium
did.
Good news about Spencer, hope it all works out.

The Fly Over looks great from the shots I have
seen, would have loved to have been there.
We were in England when they celebrated the
50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
(it was Peters 50th birthday)
As we drove about visiting various airfields and
museums we could see the various groups practicing
over vast areas of sky so they got their timing right.

That must have been the year they did the huge airshow
at Duxford with Spitfire's and Hurricanes doing mock
dog fights with M 109s and the largest collections of
Tigermoth's ever seen together .
the Memorial flight was there also.

Ian And Peter just turned in to Lobsters out
in the sun but Melanie takes after me, gradual
browning but never very brown.
Rebecca with her East Indian heritage browns
in the blink of an eye, much to Ian's chagrin.

When we came to California we also did not know
how strong the sun would be ,
we came in the middle
of a heat wave just like now but were further from the beach
in those days. Peter had the one and only car to go to work
so that left us with the apartments swimming pool.
(I did not drive then either).

In fact we still have the original table fan we bought from a
friendly shop owner to cool us off!

We can always tell the tourists of European origin as they
have the whitest legs, so white in fact that they shine!
Head covering of some kind is needed here in this bright
sun if you have a thinning spot on the top of your head and
sunglasses on really bright days, a tube of sun screen and
light cover up is a must at the beach.
The silica in the sand reflects the suns rays so it like sitting
in a frying pan some days.

I tend to get mild sun stroke as I got it really bad one year
after sitting outside at a soccer game and I took all the
safety measures! In weather like this its better if I stay indoors
until the temperature drops and the sun is nearly setting.
Lorna and I sat out on her patio last evening as it was cooler
outside than it was in either of our houses!
Its mostly cloudy at the moment but this afternoon will be in
the 80s for sure but may be even higher.
With the humidity level so high everything feels sticky.
This is not our typical July weather.

So relieved to see that everyone is now out of the cave and
all are safe.
Cats are fed and now sleeping so I can go and get some breakfast
without them meowing at me to give them more food.
Might make a mixed salad for lunch with lettuce, tomato, avocado,
and a hard boiled egg and some canned red salmon and put some
English salad cream on it.

Is it SAFE to come out

Vicky remember this was in 1967 we were
not used to the weather over here and so thought
nothing of what we were ALL doing ,all my three
take after Gil {that is the Italian in him} and go straight brown
Spencer was called by the hospital staff when I took him to
visit in 1965 "little black boy " to show them what a beautiful
boy he had become after the two blood exchanges in 1964 ,
he was SO brown and NO I had not been leaving him exposed ,
I put him in his pramwith the canopy on when he was out in it ,
even now he browns fast .....I go brown after the first exposure
to the sun as well now ,but not in 1967

Two weeks to pack up everything I would DREAD to do THAT
all over again {like when we moved here}

Glad the fly over went well then Bond I am sure there will be
footage on the news SOMEWHERE over here of it ...
They were showing Megan and Harry in Ireland earlier

Well Aid been and gone waiting on the Nurse and Social worker
be back later up to 81f already at 10am

Morning.......and it's cooled down, some what.

No Carole the kids didn't get burnt, I did read that, but you and so the kids were out all that time, (unless they were in the shade at ALL times and I doubt they were) so it was more good luck than good judgement that they didn't get burnt.   Sorry Carole to be out THAT long really makes me want to shake you.

Do you know the sun reflecting off the sea also gives you sunburn  "In and out of the sea"  AND what people (parents) don't realise the sun rays can go straight through a tee-shirt.   I know we all want to go home with a sun tan "BOND" (not in your case Carole you were home) but slowly slowly gives you a better tan and you don't get burnt.....and when you've got kids you really must protect them, and that doesn't mean "Oh I put lots of suncream on so they can be out in it for hours"  that's NOT protecting your kids.      Sorry it's something I really get mad about and want to scream.

Hi Bond........yes it's heating up.

Rob & the guys are doing another interview on the radio today......so won't be going out until later this afternoon.

of Scots all packed up and went to a local beach
left early got there but it was foggy so after asking
a local if the sun would come out we played around
with my three and the other couples daughter
(,,Jim  and Eileen came a week later than Gil and I )
and after eating lunch the sun broke through the fog
and it was in the 80's we stayed until around 6pm
having also been in and out the sea as well
I by the time we drove home about an hour could not walk
and the nurse upstairs called the Dr
That's when we were told the sun does not have to be seen
to burn you Sad

Glad you had a good night Marge ,easy does it your getting there

Barb just left ......
Spencer after texting his old boss at 830,am
was told he would call him back in an hour to
discuss a couple of things is still waiting at 2pm I think
he is stringing him along now

Hey they are excited to have gotten a moving date ,Vicky

I will be back later

Yes that's what the great air show at WSM was all about Bond.

I never can understand that...."most stay out in the sun because we might not see it again for ages"     confused2    when we had our first holiday abroad (La Manga)  I was always careful the boys (7 & 9) weren't out too long (20 minutes)  in the sunny .....being fair skinned I was careful also.       Sunburn is a bad thing....skin cancer years later can happen   .

Oh have they Margaret, brought out 4 more boys.....brilliant.      well done those divers who brought them out.

Not heard of the riot Margaret.....BOND any news about the drunks of Nuneaton.     Ah David's just checked, Bridge St which is in the town centre, no where near us though Margaret.    Mad  as you say "Stupid drunks"

Yes bad news about the poor lady who's died and her partner who's still very ill.....trouble is the medical lot thought they'd just had a bad reaction to what ever they'd taken (the guy's who drug addict) so of course they didn't get the treatment which could have saved the lady.    Oh I'm sure the MI5 know more than they're letting on.    I'm hoping no-one from the Government or Prince William, Prince Harry,  do not go to watch the  headball  after what Russia (Putin) is doing in this Country.    So much for Trump being friendly with Putin, he wouldn't be if Putin was trying, to kill people over there.

We have to take Benjie out at lunch time Carole.....he will nit go to the loo in his, or anyones, garden.....so he needs to go, can't just let him go morning and night.

Oh Susan & Matt are moving on the 27th of this month.

Got a good night sleep last night for a change.
It was a lot cooler last night and the high for today is
supposed to be only 83f!

I was supposed to watch Lorna's animals today
but today is Yolanda's day off and she has offered
to babysit for the day as its cooler here than at
her apartment in mid town.
Watching team time trials at Tour de France at the
moment.
Might watch a little Wimbledon later.

I see that they have brought out 4 more boys today
from the cave. The first four I imagine were in the
worse state than the others so it took 6 hours from
start to finish to bring them out.
Now it should move faster.
I also see on the BBC that a riot broke out in Nuneaton.
Stupid drunks! They should all be banned from every pub
in the town.

I am puzzled by the news of a lady dying from her exposure
to the deadly serum and her partner is very ill.
It had to be from picking up the container that was used to
contaminate the other people but why would anyone do that
if they knew the area had been searched over and over again.
Some people are just very dumb!
I think the police know a lot more than they are letting on at
this stage.
One remark said that the greatest contamination was found
at their front door!

Its back to the grind again today, its been too hot to work in the
master bedroom the last few day so going to open the windows and
put one of the fans in there.
I can also bring back the card table and an patio umbrella today.
I need to wash out the ice chests and put them back in the garage.
Lorna bought over the small bistro table and the 2 wicker chairs
yesterday while I was asleep.
That will only leave the 4 patio chairs and the 2 bases for the
umbrellas and the Patio table with the other umbrella.
Must remember that its normal trash pick this week.
Going to grab some breakfast and take my pills now that I
have an early start. All quiet on the eastern front and the
northern front so lets hope it stays that way.

Ahh thanks for that Bond Wendy just told me
as well what it was for ,will be quite a show

Morning Vicky ,now you know how I feel as
the weather here seems to last much longer
{dry sunny spells} to what we used to have
back there before we left the UK ,that is why
we got so burned as back then you
out to catch the sun not knowing how long it would last

Wendy said they have been dogwalk Henry early morning
and late at night so have taken my advise and they have
been leaving him at home during the day

So enjoy your day Barb just arrived her bus was late

It's still HOT though......everyone's saying enough is enough,  in the 80's every day is a bit much, I'd like it a bit cooler now.    Heat abroad is so much different.....

been round .....she had a cold sprite....I had diet coke.

Susan & Matt are at the tennis on Thursday.....court 1.

Well Benjie will be back in a mo ......and we're off out.

Great news that 4 of the young lads are out of the caves......trying to get the rest out today. What an ordeal for them all those hours swimming through pitch black waters in tight and cramped situations Mad

Well done the Land Rover guys

Susan & Rachael got to the finishing line.....it was hot though.      After she'd got back and had a shower we went for nibbles in Palmers and then to Steve's, it's Claire's birthday on the 9th so we took cards and present present .....Lily was in the garden on her tampoline,   she's been after one for years but it was always "No"  anyway someone's given them this one which their children had grown out of.....Claire's hoping it'll be a 4 day wonder.     I thought Jack was out but I nipped to the loo and he was in his bedroom  "How long have you been here?" he said "Ages" I said "And we're just off" I replied....so he came down to say "Hi" and "Bye"     Smile

I've never been that interested in the World Cup.....it's a case of  "My team v Country"  and team always come first.  confused2

Oh sorry I took Nessie for a walk when David was walking Benjie..... talktohand  I know Nessie thought it was odd also. Smile

That made me smile Margaret about Jagger & Tabbitha snoozing

Yes France is a good team.....that's the team Matt chose for Susan at work, Susan said at the time  they're supposed to be good.   .   Belgium are a good team too.

As to ME  run  run  run   "HA!!!" don't be funny Carole......those days are long gone. funnytvprog

My weather station is saying that although
the temperature is presently 86f ,it feels like 90f!
86f was the predicted high for the day!
Spent a pleasant evening with Lorna and
Mrs Chow and her two daughters Lana and Lisa
over at Lorna's finishing off the last few bits
of left over food from the 4th.
(don't worry it had been things like fried chicken
and stuff that had been kept in the fridge )

Most of it went on Thursday. We sat out until
past 10:30pm as it was cooler out there than
it was in our houses.
Got the portable A/C going and had a comfortable
night.
I only have the patio set over there now and I will
not be using it until the temps are down a little more
anyway.
We are told there is more unstable air on the back side
of this warm front so some thunderstorms are expected
to spring up and flash flooding to occur in the usual
areas (mainly the desert).
Only found out yesterday that the young neighbors
next door have temporary rented another house on the
street while they have their kitchen demolished to
give them a more open plan style.

It is supposed to start this week so lots of dust everywhere!
I understand that their living room has no natural light as
where as I have two sets of windows in my living room
facing the street, they have their garage built which blocks
the same area on their house. It was built that way and
succeeding owners have each changed their houses to more
suit their own tastes and needs.

Somebody is having a little snore over by the window, think its
Jagger as he has a face plant at the moment. He just woke himself
up! Now its Tabbitha who is having a little grunt.

I am just thrilled that England made it to the semi finals after
all these years. At least they could go home with their heads
held high.
I wrote down each round and compare how each team did in the
qualifying round and the round of 16 as to who has the best chance
of winning against any other team and so far I have only been
wrong twice! Some times its so close that I won't make a prediction.
I have never made a prediction on England to win yet but neither
have I predicted a loss. Its just ? until the game is played.
France has been one of my surprises.
Going to watch some tennis now after watching the second day
of the Tour de France.

Oh I'm sure we'll get to the final, no problem, we'll beat Croatia in the semi final, we would have beaten Russia also, then it all depends who we're playing against . still not really bothered.

Morning.....just waiting for Susan & Matt to go off and pick Rachael up and then head for Leics.

So the road was closed just in case the drunks got a bit heated ..... Mad talk about the police holding up there hands and giving in. Sigh!!

Well I can't see Croatia beating us.....Russia v Croatia game was terrible, both hopeless.

Silly lot getting sunburnt and it's not as though we don't know the risks these day....well we've known for years. Mad Though I have noticed Mum's AND DADS being very careful with the kiddies, those in buggies or running about.

Later guys.
