Good evening all, I do think we live in a bubble in Atherstone as its not been that long since there  were only a couple of none white, that  was the India restaurant and the Bakers, in fact after the school enpection they were put down as it only had  white kids as the head said at the time what have I got to do bus some in?
Marge I think your bit of a hell raiser in a nice way with BB & BR
strickly is just started
This was my Big Red of the day a Vespa 125 but I Vicky I really think you should put on a crash hat

Morning Marge ,nice lady offering to help
stock shelves ,afraid I would end up by buying another
STACK funnytvprog
Your right though about people's idea on how widows
should act maybe the reason so many ask me in that
*certain sad way* how you doing ?
Expecting me to wail. "On woe is me" and say I cannot go on
I normally answer I am fine and hanging in there ,but life
goes on right ?
I think that was why Gil asked me shortly before he passed
If I would be ok ,but I think he also knew having been on
my own raising the kids for 25yrs ,that I would be ok

Vicky sorry but could have sworn you said "the kids have gone "
then mentioned Rob & Dawn going away and Susan going to Ireland

Marge have you ever heard of Chip Coffey watching a Tv show
Expedition unknown and he is on it as they are investigating
Death and how people get that out of body experience

Thanks Bond keep in coming

Some people will complain about anything.
It was historical for goodness sake!
We, as an Island nation have always eaten
pork! I don't think its right to bow down to
the people who think everything we do is
an insult to a particular religion.
Respect others religious rights but if you are
of a different faith you follow yours, not theirs.

What a dash last night was, our tame American
Patty has two relatives visiting from the UK.
She wanted them to meet some of our English
Ladies group so five of us made the effort to meet
them at the Black Angus chain restaurant on
very short notice. It was fun though. I think the
two of us widows amazed the couple by our cheery
outlook on life. Both Roma and I have children who
live far away from us and we are managing quite
well on our own thank you very much!

It seems the old view of widowhood is wearing black
every day and suffering in silent misery is still with us.
(a view again expected by the Catholic church)
We are forging our own way on our own terms now.
Most of the ladies get a kick out of me driving such
a high powered car as Big Red. I say why not!

Pam has just had all her Xmas stock arrive in one day!
I volunteered to help sort it out and get it on the shelves
when she needs extra help. I won't handle the counter
and I don't want paying, its a favor for a friend.
Southern California is awakening, its like hearing
all the lawn mowers going back home. Not here
though, its a late breakfast out on the patio
(did I tell you the sun is out here and its 72F
with only 38% humidity).
Men are running to the DIY store and women are
setting out for the Mall. Halloween is upon us!
I cannot get near the craft shops and there are
Pumpkin patches all over town.
Pumpkin spice in everything from coffee to cakes
and pies (YUK) !
With that, I think its time for my second mug of tea
and take my pills for the day. TTFN

Nice out there.....been to the little Palmers.....had a salad &  David had ham, egg & chips ....blackberry & apple crumble and a       I saw a fluffy toy for my friend Janice's granddaughter the other day....didn't get because I wasn't sure who to buy it for, of course talking to Jan yesterday I thought "Merryn"  but I can't remember where I saw it....anyway I saw a lovely teddy dressed as a pixie....so she's getting that.   IF I stop the other toy she might get that as well.

No Carole Rob & Dawn aren't going away until Monday....I did say Monday.    Susan's got off today to Ireland to see her friend Anne.

Yes it was warm out today Bond.

Ok back later.....

funnytvprog Vicky if Gil could tell you
I have ALWAYS moved the furniture around
at LEAST once a year ,when we lived on
Bolingbroke Rd in our first rent ,I remember
one night he was on the 2 to 10 shift at the Albion Drop
I had done my normal moving and cleaning and was in bed
when he got home around 1045 pm ,he came in the back door
through the kitchen went to drop his bag onto a chair that
was NORMALLY just inside the living room door with out putting the lights
on and I heard him as it was no longer there ,said he told
his mates he never knew WHERE the furniture would be on his arrival
at times

As I told him ,at least you KNOW the place is clean
Here I do it though as the heating vents run along the Bay window wall
and one inside wall where the TV now stands so it does not block the heat
from coming up ,even though I still have a couch in front of the bay its
the love seat so not as long as the 90" couch so the vents are more
exposed ,the IDEAL thing here would be to have NO couches in front of the vents
but only have so many long walls confused2 ,and I hated having the TV standing
in front of the bay ....

Guess one of the Mega Million tickets was sold in CT and is worth $20.000
but the rest goes on

Glad the puppies tummy is OK ......I know you said that Rob has the kids
Friday and Saturday {like Spencer used to have Brittany } but thought
you had said he and Dawn had left on holiday already confused2

Ok back again I have washingmachine to do run run run

Yep you said it too rushed this morning to have a breakfast. confused2 btw they were at Rob's per usual.....they stay at their Dad's on a Friday night after he's picked them up from here.. As to home life still the same. Laura was saying the puppy's tummy seems to have settled.

Oh my sweets last me for a long time....as I said I've still got the sweets you sent to me, I have 1 every so often, have to be careful about eating too many sweets with my tum, but I do enjoy the odd sweet or two......and of course the grandkids dip into my sweets also. Ah yes rhubarb and custard sweets.....we have those sweets all over.

Talking about rhubarb Susan's got some growing in their back garden.

Crumbs Carole you couldn't do that in our doctors surgery or hospital.....put bunting up.....it might offend someone....can't do that. nono headbanger

Have you always moved the furniture around every autumn Carole?

Good morning tired ,went to sleep early last night and
woke UP at 430am and could not fall back to sleep ,so got up
confused1
Light rain showers at the moment but they say they are not
staying around and not THAT cold at 51f

So Laura needed breakfast today ,was there a reason  Vicky ?
maybe too rushed to eat at home  and how is Louie
Hows things going with the kids there now as you have not said
in a while so assuming they are getting used to the idea that
Donkey Brains will be their step dad for sure .......

I see NO ONE WON that lotto so its a BILLION DOLLARS +
that is TOO MUCH they should cap it .....dont know how many
won $$ for 4 and 5 numbers if ANY as once again the numbers
drawn were all high in the 50's this time a lot of people play smaller
numbers like your birthday 12 30 42  {mine} etc ah well SOMEONE
will be very lucky with more money than they know what to do with
maybe on Tuesday on the next drawing ,in the mean time Power Ball
gets pulled tonight and was 47.000.000

Nice Avatar Bond when did you take that, this morning when you went
for warm croissants.....I see Bates the Butchers ,not many of THOSE
around now a days here ,the days of the local butcher are long gone

Hope Marge had a good night ....

Ahh so others feed your sweet tooth @ Vicky funnytvprog
Dr Logiadis was jokingly asking  yesterday where were his
Rhubarb and Custard hard candy that my sister sends him funnytvprog
I happened to have given him and his nurse Lisa a couple a few years
back when Gil and I went in for a check up and he LOVED them ,told Wendy
and she started sending some for him ,but its been a while now so sent
her a text ,he is so funny ,reminded me yesterday of when he put all
the  flag bunting up in the hallway of his office declaring it
GREAT BRITAIN DAY {he is part Greek /English } as his mum
is from England ,and he took his family over this year has two young sons ...

Glad I cut the grass yesterday as it would be too wet this morning to do
now its rained

Anyway off to see what I WANT for breakfast be back later
New Avatar is looking towards the bay window after moving things around
yesterday

Ok here I am again
Finished my fall move around ,so
like Marge I am feeling pooped
Always good to hear my *widowed*sister
had a good meeting you are SO
knowledgeable......
Spencer come and went and I may also
be getting Carmens stainless steel fridge and cooker
as number one my son bought it for her a little over
a year ago ( I knew nothing of all this)  ,and she has
found another rent that already comes with these so will
not leave them ,the new land lord was raising  her rent up
by $400 and Carmen who thought she had a new YEARLY
like she had with the old landlords lease found out she only
had a MONTH TO MONTH lease with the new Landlord
This rent is one bedroom (she has three now ) and actually in a better area
from where she's at ,and a LOT cheaper ,so all good
Time for my shower ,speak tomorrow
Another fine avatar Vicky and are them gems the ones I sent you ?

Good morning chums.
A bit late this morning as it always is on Fridays.
It seems I expend a certain amount of energy
every week and on Friday I know I can finally relax.

Had a good read of my Classic Industries catalogue
last evening and finally found a way of getting what
I want as far as the front seat belts are concerned.
If I order the whole package instead of just one part
I can get the color I need to match Big Reds
interior.!
Instead of $80 I pay $200 + and its all good.
I also found a set of floor mats in there which
have the Firebird and the words TRANS AM.
The Sun Visors arrived so that's ready to go.
One other thing I want to change is the key
locks ,I need 3 as the hood is a manual click
latch.

Good meeting last night, it was my turn to lead.
My topic was self knowledge.
Women tend to take on the wants and needs of
their spouse and children so completely that they
never think about what shape they are in mentally
or physically. In essence they become a non person
with no thought for what they want or need in life.
We had a new comer that needed to hear that message
last night. People with self esteem look out for themselves
and value themselves, they become more confident and
able to set limits on what they will accept or expect of
themselves and others.
I love picking topics that even the veterans have not
read or talked about in a long time.
It even had a quote from the Bard, "To thine own
self be true".

I did my shopper after the meeting ended as
Ralphs is open until 1 am. Today its the drug store and
ATM for more cash.
Thanks Bond, Next time could you slip into Holy Trinity
and see if the Jacob Caldicot brass plaque is still on the
wall by the vestry door? I would hate for them to
take it down and throw it away, It was an award for
his service, man and boy to that church and it says he
was like 84 when he died . Unfortunately, he was buried
in a church graveyard that took a direct hit in WW2!
Don't remember which one that was.
Well. I have nattered enough for today so its back to
the grind again. TTFN

Just a fast update as Spencer just in
HE IS ,went to the body shop
and they took him OUTSIDE saw his car sitting
in the SAME SPOT it was dropped off at ,NOT A THING
has been done ,the body shop manager said he just NOW
got all the parts and would be putting a rush on the car
but it will probably be ANOTHER TEN DAYS
Seems the one thing they have been waiting on from the Manufacturer
in Korea {its a KIA| was the spindle that was SNAPPED right
in two by that guy ,he is calling the insurance company
now though as the adjuster told him that the car was
90% done and he did not KNOW what the hold up was confused2
Spencer said WHY LIE about it ......

Good news from your doctor then Carole.....you not seeing him again until June.

Rob only has the kids at the weekend Carole so they've not been away on holiday with him since the split.    In fact this is the first time Rob's been away on holiday since the split.

Hi Bond......it's been nice out there.

New avatar is Dean house in Coventry.

I am back .....said I am good to go
a few more miles and instead of every four months
for a check up said 8 which will be June 2019 for
my physical unless I need him before hand and I can
call ,also had my flu shot ....Asked him a few questions I had
he said my tests I had done were all normal {VICKY I CAN HEAR YOU }
We talked a while about the day Gil passed as I told him I
keep having flash backs ,and he explained that the way Gil woke me
up he was already basically "gone" and the rattles were from the
lower brain stem that signals the organs to breath but that the upper
part of the brain and where he would know what was happening
would have already shut down ,in other words he was not with me any more

I HAD to hear this as I keep playing that morning sometimes at night
over and over Sad he said to try and remember Gil more of how
he USED to be rather than how he had become Rolling Eyes

Lovely day here now I was going to let Blaine cut the grass
out back tomorrow but its so nice and I feel a have the UMPH!
so did it myself as STILL waiting on Spencer Shocked
My living room looks like a BOMB hit it ,as I have started taking
the knick knacks off my end tables etc SPENCER !!!!!!!

Saw you under me Vicky but was leaving so had no time to reply

Does Rob ever get to take the kids away with him any where?

Don't forget to put your clock BACK this weekend in the UK
{we do not fall back until November 4th after someone over here
started messing with it as we sprung forward earlier than you
on March 11 }

Back later ,hopefully run run run

We're in the 50F at the moment Carole.....the sunny  is out though.

Susan & Matt on odd occasions play the Euro Lottery, not often but just now and again, they've never won anything.      We used to do the Lottery, won £60 once and a couple of £10, but we stopped years ago......we do have premium bonds and we do get £20  nearly every month, well I say "We" David always informs me that he's won another £20, a couple of times he's won £50.     I'm doing well saving up.....it's amazing how quickly it mounts up just putting an odd couple of pounds away I've got £750 in my saving up box.

Right......later.

BTW I a posting under you Carole.

Morning Bond ,poor little tree
but planting ANOTHER one there
isn't that going to cause MORE
problems down the road
how about a small gazebo /pergola
they could sit under with say a
clematis or a rose climbing over it confused2

Proper temp at 540am here is a balmy 39f but feels like
its in the low 30's so may need a coat when I go for
my check up at 9am but later this
afternoon we will hit around 60f CRAZY ,like I said
before if you look at the temps this and next week
its like we are on a ROLLER COASTER as we go down
again Monday then start to climb again middle of next week

Spencer spent the night at Carmen's but gong over the body
shop later this morning to see EXACTLY what parts they are
saying they are waiting on ,as he said the parts on his car
should be available as its a 2013 model ,plus he is not happy they
are putting two doors on that they got from a junk yard it seems

The Insurance company told him that from now until the body shop
finish THEY {the body shop} are having to pick up the car rental
as I guess they were given or said it would be ready in X amount
of time and that time expired last Monday when it was three weeks
{thought it was about that long since it happened }

Then he is coming home to help me move the living room around
and put together a small cardio exercise bike I bought ,so will be busy
I could have moved the furniture around myself {HAVE ALWAYS done
it myself} but he needs to unhook the TV and Net Flix that David
hooked up and rehook it all up talktohand electronics I do NOT DO

Mega Millions tonight is 914MIL and the pay out after taxes
would be for ONE winner $549mil ,so almost a BILLION dollars
ANOTHER thing as the chances of hitting it are ONE
in 300mil
,last time someone hit it earlier this year a group of workers
took home over $500 mil on one ticket and split it
And if that is not enough Power Ball on Saturday is now up to $440 mil

I keep saying one of the smaller prizes like for 5 of the 6 numbers would
do me as they are normally a million

OK so MORNING LADIES I SHALL BE BACK run run run run

It's looking nice out there. sunny

So the houses....plus the garage....was built around the old trees? Was that the deal "You can build houses but you can't chop those trees down" ?

Yes I thought that when I saw one of Marks photos you put on here....."That's like the one I took" I took that in 2011.

Well back later.

Hi all, these are the big old trees one in his garden and one in the house on the other side from the house with the crack garage,
The little green thing in the bottom couner is a garden seat so you can see a little of the he size of the tree thats got to be over 100 years or so

Holy smoke that looks like
an Earthquake did damage never mind a skinny
little tree like THAT

Glad you had a nice meal Marge ,looks like
I might be seeing Linda one day next week
seems she has been doing a full round of
Drs appointments
Said we will make a plan to go over to
Port Jefferson on the Ferry next spring

Regards the car parts your probably right Marge
just frustrating that the body shop has not been
keeping Spencer in the loop as to its progress
The cost that Spencer saw was $5000+ as it
was the whole drivers side and front bumper
Spencer said the guy hit it so HARD it ripped
items out from the engine

Ok be back later

Hi again, this is a photo of the small tree with the big crack in the brick work, I have taken a photo of the two big trees 25 /30 feet away, the other thing that the people have said with the tree down and the roots killed the clay soil will swell up with water and th gap will close on the brick work, well if that happens I will show my bare Arr in Smiths window
Marge the burgers sounds good morning all with the blue cheese
Mmm

The chain of delivery on car parts is weird.
Some engine parts cannot be sent by air.
If the local parts center is out of stock ,it has
to be sent from a parts place that is further away.
It works fairly fast usually but with the hurricanes
and flooding trucks have to go a round about route.
Imagine if a part was supposed to be coming from
Carolina and it got caught up in Michael somehow.
I've had parts come for Big Red from the East coast!

They sent a part to be rebuilt to Connecticut,
it took several weeks for it to go there by truck and
come back the same way. Plus these places have
waiting lists for repairing parts for older cars (which
I know his is not.) It takes time to locate a replacement
part even for new cars sometimes. It all has to match
the car its going on as far as numbers are concerned.
(each part is stamped for a particular car by the company
that made the car).
Using other after market parts cancels the warrantee.

I saw what happened to the Red Kangaroo place. could
it be arson? It does not look like the kind of place that
would burn easily.

Had a lovely meal last night ,a steak burger with Gorganzola
cheese and a glass of red wine. there were 9 of us as 2
members broke their toes and we had 2 arrive who said they
had stubbed their toes that day also !!
One was going in for bunion surgery this morning!

One couple tried to sell me a 1990s Jaguar they had for sale
but even at $5,000 I would not buy a S*** brown car of any
kind! It would cost another $5,000 to have it repainted!
It was probably a fashionable color when it was new but it
is also not one of Jaguars better designs either.
I will keep on looking though.
One thing you can count on here in California ,there is not
a rust problem with the cars.
New checks have arrived, not that I use many but I do have some
services that only take checks.
I also ordered more deposit slips as our banks do not offer them
anymore. I also hate waiting at the ATM for someone to deposit
several checks that way. Each check is single transaction.
Its time for my breakfast and errands then its back to clean up
the carpet as I know Tabbitha has once again regurgitated
a couple of hair balls (Jaggers fur not hers) behind the sofa.
