When we over here look at the time if it's been posted before 12 midday it says "Yesterday" if it's after it's today.....so I've noticed.   But that's us over here.....oh yes and Malc once said the site is an Australian one   If you go into Profile and then Preferences you can sort your times out.....DON'T TOUCH BOND we just change to GMT without us doing anything.....not sure about you guys in .   though I can work out when you've posted Carole with you being 3 or 4 hours difference.     Was your last post at 7'07pm Carole?

Glad Susan isn't going to Ireland this weekend,   the  were having problems landing in Dublin.

Good evening all, just Back from Bedworth the winds blowing hard but its still warm?
I saw yesterday about the pins in the strawberries, they were saying that they had got away from plastic tops on the boxes so they were open and easy to mess with the farmers were giving them away as nobody wanted to buy, so one fool has messed up a season,
The wind is blowing out there

Seems ok for me as well here in Ct
as you said Marge we are three hours
apart and you guys are five ahead of me
but not sure who ever runs our site are
located as the times are REALLY screwed
up when you look sometimes saying that
some have posted yesterday when it's STILL today
which makes me feel they are located maybe in OZ
or Asia

Got Blaine sorted thank goodness

Came back and ran the mower over the front grass
as I had not done it when I did the back last (normally I do both)
but when I got back around the back I decided to run the
mower real quick over that as well mainly to pick up leaves

Watching another Net Flix series Call of the Heart

Always good to have support Marge

Wendy is telling me their weather is bad
Be back

It seems alright this end but I am 8 hours behind you
(except Carole and then its 3 hours)
Had a lovely meal ay The Olive garden but I brought
home half of it as I just could not eat it all.
It was a large helping of Eggplant Palma and a side
of spaghetti. Had their famous salad to start with
bread sticks.
We celebrated both Patty's and Joan's birthday
this month. Patty (our token American) is into
a lots of crafts, a lot of it in miniature so I got
her a miniature Gnome. For Joan who is a 9-5
worker downtown LA, I got her a miniature
fish tank to put on her desk (it does not have real
fish in it I hasten to add.)
They both had lots of other gifts of course but
I like whimsy. At our age we tend to get a lot of
soaps and lotions which is OK if its the brand you use.

We had an extra couple this time, the husband has some
kind of cancer and does not want to have it mentioned
in public so he rarely goes out. At least he had Michael
to talk to who is some times our only Male(Pam's husband)
I know it was a pleasant break for his wife.

We have another new lady from up north in the UK who has
totally lost her accent. I found out she lost her husband
just recently (nearly a year ago) . When I told her about
Peter, she hung me. Luckily she found a grief group
at the local hospital who are giving her a lot of support.

Having someone else who understand what you are going
through is a great help. Roma , another of our group
lost her husband before I lost Peter and was an inspiration
to me as we both had to sort out a bit of a mess in our
husbands filing systems. Her grown kids also live far
away like mine but she has a new grandchild who she
visits often in another state.
I think its going to be cereal and a peach this morning
for breakfast. I love fresh fruit. I am not so fond
of Strawberries as here they are grown to travel more
than to eat so they taste a bit watery to me.

Hear they are having lost of trouble in Australia with
pins in their strawberries, now its bananas and other fruit
as more nuts copy cat the first block heads.
One chain has removed all sewing material from its shelves.
Must leave you here as my sinuses are blocking up again
and I must use my nasal spray. TTFN

WOT!! NO .and a SERVE YOURSELF
BREAKFAST affraid
Good job I do not EAT when I come on here first thing then

Yes Bond WHAT WERE you doing getting a "timed out" notice ....

Nice morning here even though the sun is not up yet
going to be a high in the low 70's and sunny ....
Will stay like this all the way through until next Tuesday when
more showers {so good to get seed down on the lawn now} will
water it in Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday
He is also saying we could get a brief shower Saturday morning
when I meet up with Linda ,but that it should be over by 9am which
is when we are meeting up for breakfast ..

Well today i have to go with Blaine to unemployment as when he went
yesterday he did not know HOW to get into the  to sign up for
his weeks unemployment {he does not do computers at ALL} said
the staff at the desk told him he would have to come back and
BRING SOMEONE WITH HIM THAT DID KNOW confused2  so much
for HELPING ......
His brother has told him he HAS to learn as Mom will not be here forever
as with other things he relies on others to do ,he never wanted a smart
cell phone always had a flip one till Spencer gave him his old one
and now he is on it and FB ALL the time so its not really different ,but
this is how that brain thing has left him like headbanger

So that is MY morning planned out for hopefully there will not be many down
there when we go early as there's only so many  for people to use
Seems one can no longer telephone  in like he USED to do to sign on
its ALL going COMPUTERIZED ,so if you do not HAVE one you have to go
down unemployment office or to the library or find someone who HAS one
like me {only he has forgotten his password so cannot do it from mine }
something I shall be ASKING how he finds this out today

Is it THAT time again Vicky for Benjie ,what does he go once a month
my time is FLYING now a days it seems even FASTER
Ok confused1  my coffee while I check the news so I shall see ya all
later ..........
MORNING Marge run run run run

Yes the experts say we throw too much away too soon, remember years ago we didn't have dates on them just our own common sense ....look and sniff should do the trick.

I still have a milk man Carole, so don't buy that much from the supermarket, it is cheaper to get it from the supermarket, and more people do  but I like helping our farmers so carried on having it delivered.    And the bottle comes in handy when I make my pastry, rolling out the pastry.....my Gran used to use the glass bottle so I did the same,....still do. confused2

Oh well it's that time again.....speak tomorrow then.

Marilyn my SIL drinks whiskey..... Mad as you say Carole "Yuck" the smell is bad enough.

I cannot see the problem of things like
Spaghetti being used ,actually not even SURE if
there is an expiration date on pasta ,will have to look
Same with milk ,that date on the front is not a no good
date DO NOT USE it's a SELL BY date and they say even after that
date it's still ok

Tracie is the same throws everything out

Barb just text me as I asked her if they had any idea where she
got this ,she said they THINK it could be her Sat/Sun patient
who she said has the same symptoms ,I have told her she
NEEDS to tell the agency about it as that's not right ,that
lady is ,if it's right a health risk to anyone who cares for her
She is an amputee and needs lifting constantly

Well Spencer due home so I shall away have a good night

I was watching the TV the other day and they were showing South Shields beach.....I hadn't realised how beautiful it was,   Just goes to show.

Oh it's amazing how much out of date stuff we have in the cupboards.....a couple of months ago I cleared out my kitchen cupboards but the packets of this and that which was about a year out of date.     .......you wouldn't have anything in Susan's cupboard even a month out of date,  she is so  "That can go it's 2 weeks out of date"  confused2   when I told her I'd found at the back of the cupboard packets which were a year to 18 months out of date....she was "MUM that's terrible"   I hadn't been using it just hadn't thrown it out.

Oh dear not good news about Barbara Carole, it's certainly knocked her about.

As to Bev I didn't ask details about the guys......and she never said, I was too disgusted at her attitude to Evette to talk much.

Good evening ladies, nice hairdo Carole,
I love the sea side and I don't think you can get any further away from the sea than we are here, in fact it has been said the the bridge by the MIRA is the new centre of England
A place I have loved by the sea is Chiesle Beach with the great wall of stones some as big as your head some just pebbles, when you get over the top the crashing sound of the waves rolling the stones up the beach is loud very loud

This is me today ,she gave me a few curls
Hi Marge Linda and I will be going to the Olive Garden
next time but its only breakfast on Saturday so I can give
her her birthday gift for the 24th ...

That is something I should do as well go through my spices
and cupboards again as have not done them since Barb was
here and helped me one day ...
She texts me a few times says she misses her "cooking lessons" funnytvprog

She was in hospital a week ago seems she could not even hold water
down ,and they have found she has some kind of parasite in her intestines
that you pick up either abroad {where she has never been } or STAGNANT
water Shocked .They also found a mass on her Pancreas ,and is waiting to get
a Endoscope appointment to get a closer look ,but because this parasite
left her so drained they said they are waiting a little while ,if THAT were me I would
want to know NOW as that is what my Dad and sister Dawn had when they passed

I like walking along the sea front but
do not go on the sand alone anymore.

There are people who have some form
of mental illness who think you need
someone to unburden your troubles
to when its them that need to unburden
themselves to a stranger.
Usually they are dry drunks or addicts
looking for a hand out.
Its not a big problem here by any means
but I go there for quiet meditation time
and people think because I am gazing out
at the sea alone that I might have problems
like they do.
Don't get me wrong, I love living near
the beach. I am far from lonely or
depressed and I could not live anywhere
else further inland.

Ian just shot me a message about his trip over
here. He arrives on Oct. 4th and leaves on Oct 14th.
Rebecca will stay at home as her parents are getting
of an age and health wise where she does not
want to be far away from them. I understand that.
She also has certain jobs coming up so does not want
to give up any chance to make a little money.

Today we are going to the Olive Garden restaurant for
dinner and I have been instructed that while Ian is here
they want him to come with me to one of our dinners.
If Melanie is here at the same time, she can come as well!
I get asked how they are doing all the time. Melanie
its about her health and with Ian its what is he working
on now.

Weather has not changed much in the last few days,
the temps are running about the mid 70s but I wish
the humidity would go down a bit more to give my sinuses
a rest.
Slowly getting more done each day and no ants for 3 days
now!
gradually going through all the spices and other things used
for cooking as most of it is way out of date.
If I start cooking again I will buy new ones.
There are several bottles of assorted Olive oils and corn
oils which are rancid after all this time.
I also found a gallon size soy sauce bottle tucked in the
back of a cupboard! Maybe he thought he would really
get into Chinese cooking! confused2
The dry ingredients I can empty and put the glass containers
in the recycle bin but they is no way I am emptying quarts
of oil down my sink!
Not after paying all that money to have the sewer line cleaned
out!
He kept forgetting that he already had things in the cupboard
so bought more.
I can do a little each week, a shelf at a time.
Time is running here and I have a busy day in front of me.
TTFN

What do you mean Carole....was that it?   I thought it was a lot, they'd both met some guys while they were in Blackpool and Evette's Mum had died while Bev had been saying "Go and see her Monday I'll drop you off at home then"   .....as Bev couldn't put herself out to do the right thing and get Evette to the hospital to see her Mum.      Sorry if you think that's not much.  confused2

So you were doing the BIG shopper  also Bond.

We used to take Benjie for walks around Ryton Pools Country Park they've got a mini steam train there though each time we've been it wasn't running. I remember when we used to take the kids (Rob & Steve, though we did go a few times with Susan aged about 2) looking around all the train sidings, good fun for us all.

I told you all the gossip about Bev Carole...... confused2

Well it's windy out there but not cold as such.

Morning Bond ,its Wednesday as you say

be rolling around every 4 weeks FASTER these days

Going to be somewhat less humid today the weatherman

So after your hoover duster whats the plan for today Bond

Good evening all, Marge I keep a diary every morning from the day before, so I can look back and see what I was doing years ago and it comes in very handy both ways it makes me remember what I wS doing yesterday plus what I was doing Years ago, I even got Mary one to help with her memories as she keeps a diary on dates of what she is going to do but this is different this jump starts things that only happen yesterday and may get lost for ever

Gosh I think I would have said "Stick it"  as well Bond, that's so late to be eating.

Margaret you certainly haven't let Peter down.

That must have been a shock Carole the Seawall closing......you used to like going there with Ruth didn't you?

Well a woodpigeon flew into the patio window a short time ago and broke it's neck....... Sad    Benjie couldn't understand why it wasn't flying away, he kept tapping the window until it was put into a plastic bag and into the bin.    I hate it when that happens.

Starting to feel Florence more now as its light rain
at the moment but the sky looks ominous ...but its HUMID
They were warning that the worst could pass through Bridgeport
around 2pm/3pm but would be off into the sound by 5pm when
Spencer gets off work ,it only takes him 14mins to drive home
now as where he works in Monroe less people are coming THIS way home
all going TOWARDS his work place where as where he USED to work
in Weston they were all coming home THIS way

Marge I can certainly see and feel a difference in your energy levels
the way your getting your act together ,I think that was one thing
Gil was confident about knowing I would manage OK with him gone
maybe that was why he asked two weeks before he died if I was scared
Yes as I told him scared of losing him but I had been practically ALONE
for 25 yrs after we divorced in '72  not remarrying Robert until 1990
so have been a very independent female and something I think
that SHOCKED Shocked  him when we met again as no longer was I dependent
on a male to make decisions for me talktohand  Don't get me wrong  I MISS
having a strong man along side me ,but I CAN handle what the world hands out
its a matter of HAVING too confused2

That will be nice Marge going to sit and wish pete  a happy birthday in Heaven
I see he was a little younger than Gil as December he would have been 79
I keep hearing in my head a statement he made shortly after meeting
that if he made it to 60 he would be OK as no way did he wish to live
if he became dependent on others ,which is EXACTLY what happened
this last year especially and what he HATED the most I know and why he kept
saying he wished he was dead Mad
So all in all he did well living with out any major illnesses until he was
diagnosed with this Corticobasil 5 yrs ago at 72 yrs of age ...Yes I MISS him
though crying

I do not think I could live far away from the shoreline now Vicky
I love the sea too much ...

Glad you finished your to do list Bond are you retired now ? Rolling Eyes

Did I tell you guys Marnicks  {SEAWALL} CLOSED last Saturday with out warning
to anyone {even employees } seems they had been trying to sell it
for a while and got a buyer even though no one knows who it is yet
and shut the doors of the restaurant ,the motel part was also sold
with it but not sure if they had guests or not ....
We are hoping the person who bought it makes it better and opens
back up soon as we loved going there for breakfast watching the sea
from the windows only feet from the building

Well its 145 and I just heard a peal of thunder and its pouring right now
Buddy will be heading downstairs if it gets LOUDER

Be back later ....made the pork pies with a sausage peas and mashed
potato for dinner ,hope the lads like them Rolling Eyes

I don't like evening meals either,
that's why I like the weekly meals
in a different place each time as
I am able to pick what I want to eat
at that time. I can just have a
starter if that's all I want to eat.

My lot are so scattered from Woking
to Hull and they are still all working
which makes it hard to get together.
I might be able to squeeze in a visit
with Sarah and Ben at Xmas but that's
about it.

Well, sat and sorted all the statements
yesterday and divided them into
"Addressed to Peter and addressed to me"
Then it was where did they come from,
so it was AAA, Medical, Banks etc.
All each had their own rubber band
around them so that should make it easier
to file. I was looking for the letter asking
me if I was interested in selling my plot
of sand in the desert and I found it.
Next course of action is to phone Brian and
set a time when we can sit and go through it
and see if we can find a broker to handle a
sale.
Its just one of those undone things
that Peter left behind. Its not a lot of money
but it will be one less thing the kids will have
to deal with.
I have been making a daily list of things to do
instead of a general list as I need time to spend
on my computer taking care of ordering some
new trainers and shoes and a few bits of clothing,
mainly Jeans. I have a few pairs of dress slacks
that need about 2 " taking off the length.

I have two velveteen jackets that need
the cuffs removing. One is black and the other
is a deep red wine color. Now I need to find
a alteration place.
I buy these things as an investment as they are
dateless. There is a satin cream blouse with lace that needs
resizing as its a bit big for me. Its a kind of
cross over front which would look nice with either a
skirt or dress slacks, just never could find the time
to get it done.
My chores today include doing a clean up on the cats
litter boxes (Jagger is becoming a secret farter!)
He eats too fast!
I will vac all the leaves out of Big Red and take it to
the car wash. I have a little road trip in mind on what would
have been Peter's 78th birthday on Friday.
Its not far, its just up the hill in fact. Its the glass Way farers
chapel it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's son.
It has a brick wall about 3 ft high with a wooden beam structure
and lots of large plain glass windows. It is meant as an arbor between
the indoors and outdoors. Its really very peaceful to just sit
and commune with nature.
Its open to everyone unless there is an event taking place there.
Very popular on the tourists list of things to see in S. California.
I hope if I go early enough it will be empty.

I am hoping to restart my diary which I last wrote in the month
before Peter passed away. It will help me to express my feelings
and my thoughts of life without him. I am trying very hard to not
let him down as he was certain I could manage everything OK.
Its as if he knew his work was done and I could take it from here.

I am in an upbeat frame of mind but the old body doesn't know
it yet!
Another lovely day here , not too hot but still on the humid side.

It's a Christmas lunch Bond.....1:30 for 12 of us.

It wasn't that easy Carole, with work commitments, Susan, Matt & Dawn living elsewhere....and I can't have the late evening meal, can't eat after 7:00  so it was "What date suited everyone?"  which came down to the 27th, Claire didn't know until NOW what days she'd be free, then it was lunch or have a cream tea in the afternoon....I thought lunch would be better.    As I said it can be a nightmare.

Been to "Woodlands"   had nibbles, looked around  talktohand  oh just looking.

My sister was talking about getting a storm
but I checked and the remains of Hurricane Helene
fizzled out before hitting you, and the NEW storm
that the UK office has named Ali will be
hitting northern parts not her or you
They also say London could get temps over average
74f

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/sep/18/storm-ali-uk-weather-80mph-winds

All over the world we are seeing crazy weather

That is nice able to get the family all together Vicky I cannot remember
the last time when WE WERE all together Sad

I'm going to have to send an email to my friend Janice, Hong Kong has been hit badly also and of course her son, wife & granddaughter live in Hong kong,  as does Marcus, Bev's son. Marcus was telling her his apartment was shaking, Ben (Janice's son) & family also live in an apartment.

I always think about the animals which have been left behind also Carole.

Right we've booked our Christmas family get together.....we're going to Kilworth House.   on the 27th Dec.     It's such a headache trying to get everyone together,  but we've done it.

Yes it's warmed up now Bond......it was cold earlier on.

Morning every body
going to be a humid day today as Florence
arrives ,she was a no show over night like
they were saying it might be

Watched some rescuers down in Carolina
getting these dogs out from their kennel/run that
was already up to the mens waist ,two dogs were
hanging on the wire fence trying to stay out the water
Seems the owners had evacuated with their children
and other animals but when they went to go back for
the dogs {think there were 4 to 6 hound dogs} they
were not allowed by authorities saying it was too dangerous
THANK GOD for these men ,the dogs were wagging their tails
and jumping through the water to where I assume they
had a boat waiting Sad
That is the part that bothers me seeing that ,and wondering
about other pets etc
confused1 sitting here with the A/C on going no where
today run run
