No longer Carole but you must remember how he was at first.....howling to go out, scratching at the door. confused2

Yes of course if you get them from a cat rescue, or the RSPCA, they are sorted out before they allow you to take them home.

Most odd....one day he's wearing a name tag and the next not. I really just can't understand some people fancy just going off and leaving him, but as I say if they cared so little about leaving him would they care about him fathering kittens all over the place? confused2

I am back only went to pay my car and to the bank
was glad to get inside ,right now its a brilliant sunny
blue skies no breeze whats so ever and at 1130am
we stand at 88f proper temp feeling like 94f though
and the hottest part of the day is not until 3pm ...

Vicky as much as I am sure Buddy is fixed I am also SURE
of where he came from as when I first saw him outside
he was sporting a white collar with what looked like a silver
dog tag hanging from it ,I took a photo of him standing looking at
me ,the next time I saw him he was minus the collar ,so I blew
the photo up and you can just see 47 Lakeview Ave which is the house
where the Haitians lived who moved from the 2nd floor across the
road and where he would take a walk about every so often ....
Now I do not know about other people but OBVIOUSLY they did
not care where he was or bothered to get him in when they left
THEIR loss MY gain

Just eating a tuna salad for lunch so whose making a VERY LARGE L & L please

But he did at the start remember Carole......howl to go out you often said and I said maybe he wanted to go back to his family but they'd left where you *thought* he'd come from.....though cats can & do travel miles at night time, they did a programme about that...put a camera on a couple of cats to see just how far they travel or what they get up to and then show the footage, which shocked their owners they had no idea just how far they travelled each night.   So I remember how Buddy was when you first took him in....you turned him into a house cat.      talktohand  which is fine when you've got so many critters outside just waiting to attack a catmilkbowl  over there but from what you used to say about him it was obvious he wasn't a house cat but allowed to trot off at will, in fact seeing they moved and didn't take him with them would make you wonder even more if he'd been done, they obviously didn't care that much about the poor cat.     Cats over here (and of course dogs)  have flea & tick treatment......Benjie has treatment against them all flea, tick, vaccinations for various things and of course Kennel Cough  which made me laugh but I also shook my head when Bev came out with "Ah but I'm never going to put Leo in kennels"   some dog owners do not realise their dog can get kennel cough by just meeting a dog in a park or elsewhere, or sniffing a lamp post nothing to do with them staying in a kennel.    Now she did leave him last year with someone who gives a couple of dogs a home for a couple of days to a week, (Evette paid) and again this year (different person took him in)   but Bev doesn't see it as kennels so she doesn't think Leo should have a kennel cough vaccine never mind all the other treatments he should have.   In fact I think anyone taking a dog into their home if they don't ask if the dog has up to date vaccinations etc I'd think twice about leaving them there to be looked after anyway..

Well it's certainly grey out but it's not cold.   confused2

Been to Woodlands but gosh they do have a lot of wasps flying about, I hate wasps,  I feel you can't really sit and enjoy your meal when every so often a wasp flies by, or stops to see what you're eating.

Have you been watching the Phil Spencer programme about historic houses/castles/palaces etc Bond?        Brilliant.

Ok back later...

Lots of photos of the Morgan tour on FB from The lads
When you are coming out of the carpenters work shop were they build the Ash frames they let you pick up a small bit of wood from the scrap box if you want and the guide puts a Morganink stamp on it well Ive put two together and made a bit of a paper weight
Talking of nuts or not having them I had a greater spotted woodpecker on mine this morning

figured ...
I am 99% sure he's been done Vicky
and as to him wanting to go out
again ,it's not like he stands by the door
crying to be let out ,or makes a mad dash
when you open the door to get outside ,he
does not do that
He would probably have a walk about if
I did let him go ,but I much prefer him to be
bug/flea free and and not bring them into the
house to Tabitha ..

Marge my last day TZ was 21 when she died
like you I have mostly had cats since I was 4 yrs old
Only started having dogs as well after Tracie brought
Lucy home ,she lived to be 11 yrs then I adopted Max
after she died ,he was 2 when I got him as a couple
had kept him in the basement and he was a "runner" every
time the door or gate was open he would be away ,even though
he had the freedom of the whole house and back garden
He was 10 when he died and then of course there was Saba
that Gi! and I had 14 yrs

Well I see Danny loading his truck so I just away
God it feels SO HOT wish I did not have to go out but I must
So back later

So you don't really know he's been done then  Smile  maybe one of his nuts hasn't developed   BTW Carole when you took Buddy in he didn't like staying in wanted to go walk about but you kept him in.

Oh we have those clinics over here as well Carole,  well you pay what you can afford IF ANYTHING ....Bev could take Leo to one but when he was a puppy, she thought it wasn't fair to put him through that and now he's older she thinks it wouldn't be fair to put him through that.  Mad    Though saying that he's not chipped and it's the law that ALL dogs are chipped.

They do say cats often have more than one home Margaret....if they're outdoor cats that is.

As to Bev well they did say they were both hoping to meet up with some guys.......so you never know.

Oh I bet you had a great time Bond......got your name on the list?   Smile

Hey my FIL was still climbing onto roofs when he was in his late 70's early 80's....a lady friend of his (David's Mum had died years before)   Ann had a loose roof tile so up went my FIL and fixed it....so I'm sure you're fine up the  ladder  Bond.

Not sure if we're going out.......

Morning Bond confused1  yes that will give
me something to do on a COLD day, sorting through
what must be talktohand I kid you not,THOUSANDS
Good job I bought and put the majority of them into
these special boxes you can get that keeps them safe
I am SURE there are MILLIONS of the garden and down at
Marnicks when Ruth and I used to do photo shoots with the
"seagulls" funnytvprog

The two Hurricanes they are watching ,"Gordon " has already
dropped MUCHO  and winds on my daughter
and is now heading into the Gulf so New Orleans etc is on alert
The other name "Florence" is or was heading towards the East Coast
here looking like it could come closer to us ,but the weather PC's
are now showing its steering a little more to its right away from us
but that it could impact Bermuda ...Guess I was hoping too much
that we would not see any this year Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

So lets hope Marge had a good time ,and its time for Vicky to appear

Danny is taking the pile away this morning ,Blaine helped lift the old washer
and a TV into his truck last night when he took the $$ around for his services
as he will be able to load the rest on his own
He does not work as he screwed up his back years ago and is on disability
{same age as Spencer} so the $$ he gets after paying his rent here even though
his rent has everything included ,light heat water {unlike ours where we pay
it all bar the  water} does not go far ,so he tries to pick up extra cash
doing dump runs as long a its nothing too heavy ,he also does some  limited jag
,now the washing machine is actually NOT heavy ,the TV weighs more but he can push them off his truck with out lifting them ..

OHHH  Mad  Mad  going to be H H H today close to if not hitting 100f again  Shocked
So keep them L & L's a coming please Bond
The majority of schools being with out A/C's are once again closing early
because of this heat

and I shall return

MORNING LADIES

Good morning all from Atherstone a bit grey over here and it's said to stay that way
So Carole I glad you have found all your old photos well not found more managed to get to them, at the Tuesday bric a brac stalls you do see boxes of old family photos and you do think what was the story there
So its a easy day here some work outside me thinks
Yes its a classic look for a sports car. there was a Triumph Stag (the biggest of the day Triumph sports car range) around Nuneaton and it always was a head Turner and a bit like miss Vicky eye
Breakfast and it's cornflakes and cold /hot milk toast and marmalade Coffee tea orange juice and L&L Back later

santa Bond sleep tight ...
The TR3 Gil wanted when we were courting
was green with tan seats etc ...smart looking motor

Well Spencer arrived home and started clearing the
garage out ,this was on the "bucket " list of things we
needed to do as there's stuff packed in the back from
when we MOVED here 5 yrs ago found all my boxes of pictures
curtains from the old house etc pots pans you name it

He has taken it out to the front and Danny will take it to the dump
tomorrow for a few dollars ,the only things left are clean out the shed
that Gil was unable to enjoy ,and set the spare room up with the single
bed I bought for anyone who stays over .....
My son IS his DAD as when he gets going he does NOT STOP
I went down to help a little but I was sweating to death before
I had been down an hour ,so after sweeping the floor for him AGAIN
I came up and just shower ...ITS STILL hot out even at 545pm

Hope your enjoying your get together Marge don't know why
thought you were having it yesterday for some reason confused2

Where did Vicky get to
Anyway I shall also speak tomorrow
night night run run run

Hi Marge, yes in our party of twenty there was six Americans a German with a order of a tidy up three wheeler, yes I saw one in a Matt Olive green like the one like a spitfire
They also had two finishing for a sale in the customer, there is a problem over there with something and it's Shredded Wheat sold as a motor bike but I he distance between the two head lights can't be more the about 9" so they are almost together, the engine is a SS a upgrade from a Harly Daverson engine the man said
Still a good looking motor

morning

Spent a busy afternoon shopping,
first to pick up some Flonase for
my allergies and a prescription
refill from CVS then on to Ralphs
for the regular shopper
plus the extras for the block party today.
They came and picked up my card table
and big ice chests yesterday
I have a platter of roll ups cut into
pinwheels as my contribution and some
extra small bottles of water and some
cans of iced tea with lemon and
cans of lemon/lime mix.

Don't know how many will come but on
July 4th it was about 25 people.
Its a good job we had enough pot luck
items to feed them all.
I think I am ready for the summer to be over.
Its been too humid by far.
The temperatures are tolerable if the humidity
is below 35% even of 80f days.
Yes, Carole I have lost some weight, I think
its about a stone but very slowly as I have
have a history of weight yo-yoing.

Now I am on my own I can eat when and what
I like as well as it being healthy.
In Peters eyes salad was not a meal!
Its what you had on a weekend after
a mixed grill breakfast!
Used to broil everything under the broiler
except the eggs and the fried bread.
So it was a salad for afternoon tea.

That all changed when we got here as
most people BBQ on the week end.

As I told you Ian got the chance of a tour
when he was playing Malvern theatre.
The three wheelers done up as an
old spitfire really was the hit of the tour
for him as most Americans have never
seen a three wheel car still in production.
Danny's FIL owns one and has for years
and I told you about the guy with an
original one in his garage who I met
at Wills birthday party.
I have lived here a long time and never
seen one on the road or at car shows.

Cats can be picky about where they live and
who they choice to live with.
That's how we got as many cats over the
years as we did. Only two ever came from
the Humane Society.
Most lived to be 16 -19 years old so I must
have been doing something right!
I am on #7 and # 8 right now and I think
they will be the last ones.
Its a commitment to care for them
and these two are in middle age now
at around 8-9 years old.
It does not matter if a male cat is "fixed"
they still have a built in mental "season"
when other unfixed males spray outside.
My male chases my female in that way
at certain times of the year.
That's why the vets say that 15% of
outside cats still fight after they have been
fixed. They are defending their territory or
female.

I think its nearly time for me to show up and help out
at Nancy's house so see you later Alligators.

Good afternoon ladies, its been a lovely day out with the lads, we stopped just before we got to the factory just outside of Malvern for breakfast, ready for the 12:30 tour I think if you cut the tour guide in half he would have Morgan running through the him
So much history, a 100years of building in the same area, the longest production run, the oldest car still in production and the oldest car company still owned by the same family
The cars really look the heritage with the classic shaped wings
I think I'll have a British Racing Green one with tan leather and a three wheeler for Sunday s
Lovely photo by the way

I'm back popped up the store as needed
some beef gravy making Blade steaks with it
and sliced onion fresh mushrooms and sliced fresh
toamto's ,then just have to make some mashed potato

Its HOT outside now the humidity is BACK that is
the problem here ...

No sign of Spencer yet so have no idea what his
idea of "I shall be home EARLY" means

How do I KNOW Buddy has been fixed Vicky ,well
for one his "nuts" are GONE funnytvprog
2nd he would be SPRAYING all over marking his territory
if he was not nono
AS I said someone had him before in the house as well
that is why he is content now to stay inside so they must
have also gotten him fixed ...
Over here they have clinics where you can get animals spayed
cheaper ,every animal we have had was done

Ah so you only do short visits @ ....
Maybe Bev found herself another "prince charming" while away

Anyway can I stop BLOWING NOW I am getting PUFFED

Marge should be turning over by now as well

Vicky did you ever give Sir G the message ....I said I would
not bother him if he  again
Feel its stupid if he can chat to YOU but not to us as well confused2

OK back later have the blinds down to keep the heat out
we are at 83f feels like 89f at 1145am ,so a while to go yet fan fan fan

BTW how do you know Buddy has been fixed? I can't remember you having him done.....not with it being an expensive job. Benjie's been done and so has Nessie. though Bev's not had Leo done. Mad

Oh only here for an hour as I am when I visit.her. talktohand oh we don't go in for long visits.

It's certainly blue skies now and very warm.....79f though it feels warmer.

Oh hello Vicky ....has she gone already then
check the silver funnytvprog
A LADY is calling Buddy NAH he's fixed
and had that been the case ,he would be chasing
Tabitha funnytvprog
Did I tell you how sometimes when he goes down stairs
to see either her or Spencer or just "because" she chases
him back up stairs almost riding on his BACK with her paws
around his neck funnytvprog funnytvprog
She is only 7lb and VERY petite for her years and of course
Buddy is three times her weight ,but its comical to watch
We think she wants him to play ,Buddy says talktohand NO WAY

Just went out to water my tomato plant and gather what have ripened
since yesterday I am getting about 10 cherry size a day off it ,like eating
candy
We are starting off at 75f but its a 93% humidity right now so feeling
hotter ,going up into the 90's ....there goes my electric bill again Sad

he is practicing for when the  clock  go back in NOVEMBER  nono

Last day off for Blaine  as well as his factory goes back this week
to 8 hr days after working four days a week at 10 yrs instead of five at 8
Seems his boss thinks they save $$ doing this during the summer
weeks as their factory is A/Conditioned

Hope Marge had a good night and enjoyed the N/hood get together
{wonder if she brought back any left overs }

Watch how you go Bond and I shall return
Oh any sign of Bev Vicky ?

Good morning all, Benjie you've got you paw in my ear, thank you
The sun came up like a big orange ball this morning but its clouded over now
Funny you saying about the birds Carole Ive been going to say for weeks about the family of sparrows that have been coming to our apple tree, its hard to count them as they move in and out of the leaves but one time I managed ten, the apple tree gets the first rays of sun so when they have finished chasing about they just sit in the sun cleaning their feathers, it was getting to the point were the here didn't seem to be many sparrows about and then you went to Spain and there was hundreds so I think they were staying for the nice weather
Right breakfast and the boys should be coming for me around 10'00
Back this afternoon

At night yes we close the door but during the day it's left for him to come and go at will......he's gone into his cage already, that's him saying "Ok I'm off to bed"

They've got a running water feature in Susan's garden Carole......but they have talked about removing it and other stone statues which are in the garden.....but that'll be after all the inside work's been done and dusted . The gardens are mature.

Ok sleep tight then Carole.......Bond you gone to bed?

Ahhh cute Vicky ,? though do you close the door
at night and when you go out as you say he goes in
Just showered and washed my hair ,looked out my
bedroom window and there must have been TWENTY
little sparrows taking a dip in the bird bath I had refilled
earlier ,I have a solar powered spray that sits in the middle
and sprouts water up that keeps the water from becoming stagnant
and keeps the mosquitos away
Ok folks time to recharge my batteries
Speak tomorrow

I often say that to Benjie "Move over so I can cuddle next to you" he does look so comfy.

talktohand  Oh I had a row with Sylvia once over wage packets.....she had been going on about how she didn't get on with her Mum and then one day said she got £5 a week to start with working at "Cash's" in Coventry and used to keep all her wage and still got 10 shillings off her Dad pocket money.....when I said I had to tip all my wage up and my gran would give me half a crown for bus fares and lunch and anything else I had needed for the rest of the week, stockings etc also....she came out with "Well I'd worked for it so it was mine"  she left there because she went into work one Saturday morning and *only* got an extra £2 and her Dad had told her to tell them she wasn't working for slave labour.  littleBlond    she also thought I should of just opened my wage packet and take out what I wanted ..... talktohand  oh yes I could see that going down well.   Mad

Carole & Bond bucket and spades at the ready before Margaret sells up.

Avatar ls Benjie in his cage.....which he loves, it's in the hall under the stairs, he often just goes in to have a lie down, though he does have a basket in here (study) but as soon as he knows we're going out into his cage he goes....of course that's where he goes to sleep at night,

Guess most of us 1940's babies got about the same
Then Marge, trying to remember what Gil used to get back then
but I know he worked by the amount he turned out ,both
when working as a Burnisher at the Aweson when we first met
in '57,then when he went to the Albion Drop before we came here
then of course when he went back home after we split ,he started
back at Bretts where he stayed till they closed

Good job I said hello quietly then Marge with you staying up late

As to your piece of*sand* ,hold out for the highest $$$$$$
Tell them other wise they can build AROUND YOU funnytvprog

Guess pete brother is managing the $$$ you so generously gave him
must be frustrating not remembering ,like Blaine his memory after the
Aneurysm seems to be full of large gaps in some things and yet he
remembered how to set up his machines at work etc and do high precision
work ,yet ask him to bring back a gal of milk he will call to ask what was
he supposed to bring home ..

I also got 2 pound 2 shillings in my first
wage packet and my Mum had me turn
it all over to her and she gave me back
10 shillings for the week.

I was fit to be tied as I was expected to
pay for my lunches in the cafeteria
and for the stockings which I had to
wear for working in a drawing office.
I found a shop in the temporary
buildings in Jordan Well who sold
non run ones. If you caught them on
a rough surface they just had a little
hole which with the right colored
thread you could seamlessly repair.

Sorry for being a bit late but Lorna
invited me over for a couple of glasses of wine
and we sat out until nearly 1am talking.
She had spent the week preparing her house
for when she goes back to being a crossing guard
next week.
She is also clearing out her garage so she can put
her darling convertible inside at night.
Its the Labor Day N/H get together here tomorrow.
So have to make sure I have all the stuff I am
volunteering ready except for ice for the ice chests.

I got a letter yesterday about my 2&1/2 acres of
sand out in the desert community of Palmdale.
It seems that a posh outfit is interested in buying
up the property out there on behalf of Caltrans
our state construction company who build our
roads and railways. They want to build a
a proper road with bike lanes so they are
offering to buy by eminent domain. No
suggestion of what it might be worth to them
but it was bought in 1968 for $2,000.
The latest offer from private companies was
$4,000! so not a very good return on the
investment. I would like to get it off my hands
but need to talk to Ian and his corporate
lawyer friend who could act on my behalf.

Got a call from Peter's brother yesterday, just
to check in with me. He has so much time on his
hands that he keeps going over all the memories
he has of his accident in1970s and the reason for it.
He actually cannot remember much about it as
he was too badly injured. He has brain damage
which he has a hard time accepting.

Another overcast morning here, by late afternoon
it feels pretty warm and humid like a steam bath!
Need to pick up another prescription and an OTC
version of Flonase as I have run out.
lots to do so must run. TTFN
