That's bad Carole.....though you know that's happening to a lot of people where fish is involved, Susan, or me can't have fish shop fish anymore or we all feel or are sick. Though I do still do home cooked fish and I'm ok....but I never have fish when we go out.

Laura is 14 so she's a while to go before she can leave home......

Oh what a night Mad
Guess the fish I ate last night
was either not good or my innards
did not like it Rolling Eyes .....pouring a RIVER
most of the night on the hour waitingloo
Starting to ease now so after waking at 5am
I went back to lay on my bed until 615am

POURING of as well and I need
to go to the bank before 1pm otherwise I would not
be going anywhere

Cute Avatar Vicky ,as to Laura ,I think her "parents"
need a head Doctor ,how old is she now ? and what
age can she leave home with out them dragging her back ?

Sounds like your ex DIL's mother is afraid of them as well
too bad they cannot be cited for child abuse as THAT is
what they are getting plain and simple confused2

I can see BOTH turning up on your doorstep before
much longer
Morning Marge
Morning Bond ...be back later run

Morning Bond.......you seen Carole on your travels?

Laura's been dropped off and the poor kids in the dog house again.....on her way to her Dad's yesterday she stopped off and met a school mate and they found out and so when she gets home today she's in big trouble....she said "They can't do much more to me, my phone, iPad has been taken off me for good and I've been grounded so what more can they do to me?" it really isn't on....they don't seem to like the kids having friends. Laura said this morning "As soon as I can leave home I'm off" I just don't get them and I don't understand her other grandparents saying nothing, though I suppose they're worried they'll be stopped seeing Matthew & Laura but her other Nanna should try to get through to the Witch.

I've got an irritation in one of my eyes
so look like I have gone ten rounds with
a boxing Kangaroo!
Its not Pink Eye but is caused by either
grit or pollen of some kind.
The high winds out in the desert blow
all kinds of strange stuff over us.
I am treating it as an allergic reaction
rather than an infection.
It will be gone in a couple of days.

Our flu season has not even started yet
here in California.
At least I have had my flu shot and next
time round will have a Pneumonia
shot as well.
Have not seen hide nor hair of my
gardeners this week but it looks like they
came just before I got back as the grass
was newly cut out front.
Maybe they decided to wait another week
as the grass slows down in the colder weather.
Its 43f at the moment but sunny
High is expected to be 64f.

Was telling the group about the drone event
on landing at LHR and the mix up about Lorna
picking me up at LAX on return which reminded me
of when Tina Turner sang "Rollin on the river"
She starts off saying
"We never do nothing nice and easy, we do it nice
and rough!"
It seems I am one of those people who always
has some kind of adventure that no one else has.

Its a good job both actual flights were uneventful.
It all turned out OK in the end.

Its more washingbasket today and I have some
more clothes to box for the Sally-Ann.
I'm almost ready to put the cases away for another year.
just need to do a final check to make sure all the pockets
are empty first.
Still need to move some stuff into the garage that won't
be needed for a while like the portable A/C unit and the
fans and the space heater.
The rooms are cluttered enough with all the cat toys and
play centers as it is.
(all the bears don't count)
I could have better control of my collecting by weeding out
the ones I am not so emotionally attached to.

Its time for my breakfast here and find where I left my Union
Jack Pinafore. TTFN

As I said I tried to have some tomato soup but only had half of it and no bread.     Eaten some toast since.......going to try and have some breaded chicken pieces and microwaved tomatoes for dinner.....David will also have mashed potatoes but I'm giving that a miss.

Well no Carole seeing how I've mentioned on here before now how Graham doesn't read our page you do know it also.  confused2   and I said at the time I could tell he didn't read the page because he hadn't a clue what was going on in our lives.

Yes Coventry is so different from what you'll remember......that's the same with me and Bolton, I was home sick for years until I went back to Bolton......it's so modern now it wasn't my Bolton any longer.

Wow Bond yes that will be a headache with all the traffic.

Another stabbing on a train between Guildford & Waterloo.   Mad

Later.........

Afternoon.......and I had to cancel my trip to the hairdresser, full of this stupid cold, running nose and a headache, so I thought it would be best to cancel.    You can tell how I sound because bubbly Sarah (she is only in her 30s but she owns the salon, if fact she own 2 salons, my hairdresser AJ is the oldest there in her 40's, I first started going to this salon when her brother and sister in law Tom and Helen owned it and AJ used to come in after school to make drinks for the clients and brush up......then they decided to sell up and Sarah, who was walking there borrowed some money off her Mum to buy it....since then she's bought the sweet shop next door and knocking down walls etc made the salon into what it is now) anyway Sarah answered the phone and after I apologised and said I'd have to cancel, she asked my name again and then said "Oh gosh I'm so sorry it didn't sound like you"

I'm not very hungry either.....had some tomato soup but only half of it.

Btw Carole how will Sir Graham see Bond's avatar?    As I've said before he doesn't read the site.

Yes my fluffy boots are on my little feet as I Bond.

Well back later......unless I go to bed early..

Good job btw Bond

Morning ,better put a dressing gown on that
young lady then Bond ,otherwise you will
be getting Sir G excited as he was in visiting
Vicky again yesterday

Not doing much today no plans no washingbasket
so only the daily hoover  over the living room
15X20 carpet and I am DONE

Sorry to hear about your friend Marge but hopefully
the meds will control it so she can live her life out

So I see Melanie is coming to visit ,as you say makes
you wonder the reason besides to be with you for
Jan 30th ,maybe what she wants to talk about can
only be done away from Jim,although it sounds like
he is toeing the line so far confused2
But another CLEAN UP FEW DAYS way to go cheers

My daughter text that she might have a p/time job
at a Winn Dixie supermarket near her ,but at $8.80hr
and only 15 hours a week it will not garner her much ,but
as she and I both said "something is better than NOTHING"
The room mate she has will help with her mortgage now ,but
she still has bills to pay electric food etc Mad

OK see we are still in a Government shut down ,Trump
still insisting on his bluddy WALL surrender

Be back later I guess

Morning Vicky run run run

Glad your meal was good Margaret.

Not good news over the holiday for friend though, but hopefully now they know the treatment she'll get will pull her through. And with a lot of help and encouragement by her friends.

Awww so you didn't manage to buy your calendar this year then Bond.....maybe later if she's done one, which I imagine she has.

Just been nattering to she said "You've got a cold" I said yes I've got the sniffles and she said what I knew she would "But how did you get that?" confused2

Oh yes, Lots of eye candy on the beaches here
in summer Bond.
Mind you the life guards are nothing to sneeze at
either for us ladies.
IF you have ever seen Baywatch you know what I mean.
(NOT David Hasselhoff).

Only 5 at dinner last night owing to the fact that Michael
came down with a nasty cold so Pam had to take him home.
One of our other members was diagnosed with ovarian
cancer over the holidays after at least several different biopsies
that said she was clear.
We know she had not been feeling well for some time but
she is in the hands of a good specialist who worked
wonders with another of our group who had stage 4 cancer
and is now thriving even though she is on meds to keep it
at bay still.
Its going to be a rocky road ahead but we will give her
moral support along the way.
Norms is another local chain coffee shop that has changed hands
so was a bit short staffed but did the best that they could to keep
us happy. I would go there again instead of the older independent
one across the street which seems to pop up on our list of places
to go regularly.

I had the classic hamburger and fries and a cup of hot cocoa.
I had the 6 oz size but they did do a half pound size as well which
I think would have been too much for me.
Got what I owe to my gardeners up to date, it seems that I missed
a couple of payments over the last 8 months so wrote out a check
and included a little bonus for doing such a good job.

Next, I am donating to our local Police assoc. they provide extra
equipment like bullet proof vests and provide the money to get
new police dogs if they are needed. They also do the Santa sleigh
visit every year along with helping to take care of widows and children
of officers killed in the line of duty. (not that that has happened recently).
I need to go through what came while I was gone as I know there is
a car registration renewal in the shoe box I kept them in.
The tax stuff has started arriving so they need to be kept
in an envelope together for Brian.

Still got to contact the Gasser Brothers to see when I can take Big Red
in to fix the idle. Luckily no smog test this year!
It may be time I looked into getting a fuel injector put on the engine
instead of the manual carb that is on there now as it would solve
the problem instead of keep having to take it in to them.

Its hard to find outfits that will work on older cars locally.
My favorite service place ,Hillside does well with Big Red as far as
oil changes and brakes go but the engine needs a pro that knows
what he is doing to tune it the way it should be.
I still have the new seatbelts and sun visors in a box waiting to take
the car once it runs to the guy who will fit them for me.
In the future I would like to get a new radio as the GM Delco system
still works fine but the radio its self is showing its age.
Its set up to play one cassette at a time!
Its
washingbasket washingbasket washingbasket time here also.
Put the dishwasher on last night while I was out so nothing standing
in the way now.
(can't run both at the same time here because of the low water pressure
up on top of the hill.) Its the same with showers , hot water in the kitchen
means cold showers in the bathroom!
I won't even tell you what happens when someone flushes a toilet while
someone is in the shower! affraid affraid
Well, Its an old house what can I say, after 47 year of living with its limitations
we are used to it!
TTFN

A TV to look out for is a tour across USA in a mobile home with Bradley Walsh and his son
They started Marge at Venice Beach that looks like the place for me eye eye I've spent a life time apprentice ship practices to be a dirty old man and that would give me eye strain

But now they're back together......

Yes we usually leave them up until then also Carole but this morning we just decided to take them down. confused2

Morning guys......and the decorations are down.

That's the same as Mamma Mia Again Bond it wasn't as good as the first one.....I noticed last night one of the films   & I were talking about going and seeing is already on the local multi screen in the town,  oh well I'm not  telephone  her and  making arrangements for this afternoon and tomorrow I'm at the hairdressers.....I think  littleBlond    It's "Favourite" about Queen Anne and her relationship with Sarah.   Olivia Coleman is in it, she's Queen Anne,  and I do like her.

You certainly enjoyed your lunch then Carole.....and was spoilt.

Seems to have picked a cold up anyway so    won't want me anywhere near her anyway.   Shocked

BTW that's what the chips are like at Palmers....crispy on the outside and soft inside.    they are really yummy.

New avatar is Rob & Dawn.

Hope everyone had a good night

That's what the guys who Susan had in to do some of the work also said they don't put an Ad in these days it's all word of mouth, The builder has done work for Susan & Matt before and has done work for Matt's parents and sisters......the decorator likewise. Same with Dawn people who have dogs tell their friends about Dawn and her business is going from strength to strength ....though she did say this year she's booking time off for her & Rob instead of waiting for a slack week as she did this year.

I've just had a slice of Becky's cake.....I'll cut you a slice Bond.

Yes it's pretty chilly out here as well Margaret......as to kids and helping them out it's just something us parents feel we should do isn't it.

Its currently 38f in sunny southern California
so some places actually got frost last night!
(we are too near the coast for us to get it)
Our high for today is expected to reach 60f.

It was so cold last night that even the furnace set at
75f could not keep the house warm.
I wore my fleece jacket indoors!
Its a lovely sunny day outside but in the high desert
there have been some empty big rigs blown
over by the high winds.

Its back to reality today. I have a broken sprinkler
head out near the pavement and the electrics in
the kitchen need looking at. Its mainly the ceiling lights
and the ceiling exhaust fan. The rest seem to be working
OK.
I have to correct the payment to the gardeners as I think
I missed a couple of payments during the year due to
my lousy book keeping. I also need to send in
one of the cars registration fees.
Our City of Torrance Rose Parade float won a prize for an
all volunteer built float displaying this years theme of
music with flowers . Our volunteers ranged from
7 to 92!
Only one mishap this year, one of the largest floats
(two together actually, had a little fire from a oil
leak) It was a shame because it was of the two engines
meeting after the first rail road had been completed
across the USA. It was started from New York in
the east and from California in the west.
It had many decendents of those workers on the
float. It was mainly Irish laborers from the east and
Chinese from the west. A golden spike was used
to celebrate the last spike driven in to complete
the work. The journey across this vast country was
cut from 3 weeks to 8 days!
Now its done by train in just over two days!
The float will be on display along with all the others
for a few days in Pasadena. Then all the flowers
will be picked and used to make popuree to be
sold to benefit a charity.

Going to give the Coventry memories sites a miss
this week, someone who may or may not have been
under some influence was raving and using foul
language which started off a discussion of what was
free speech and PC. It could be the end of these
sites if the web master or mistress does not get
control back.

Peter was not big on house repairs or painting.
He also was not one to pay someone else to do it
for him so now I am trying to get things taken
care of and my son is on my case about spending
so much money!
If I live to be 100 ,I might need all of it but I
might not and all the rest would go to both he
and Melanie. I am under no obligation to leave
them anything so its best if I see a financial
consultant without telling them.
Ian says I am not staying within my budget
each month but I am only buying what I need!
He keeps saying "Its your money Mum" but
I get so many mixed messages from him.

If I could, I would cash out the annuity and
split it between them and tell them that
that's it! The rest is for me!
But I can't so no use thinking about it.

My parents never got a penny from their
parents and I never got any from mine
either and I am dealing with two who
have expectations of $$$$$
TTFN

Well been yo small Palmers....I had scampi, chips & peas. and a natter to one of the young guys who works there, nice young guy he is, anyway he was telling me all about his Christmas and asking me about mine.    It's a really nice place to go and eat and the people who work there are so lovely.....or just to look around at the goods they sell.

Over here Carole if you start a new medication it just gets added to the prescription the next time you need all your tablets, just a simple case of one prescription with all your tablets to get all at the same time. so you're not having to go back & forth with different prescriptions.....though you don't take a prescription into the chemist these days you phone a centre and get them to inform your local chemist that you'll be coming in to pick up your medication.

It was -5 last night.

Enjoying my latest book.....I know I read it many years ago but I'd forgotten how good it is.

That's good then Bond.

New avatar is Claire, Steve, Matt & Susan on our family meal out.

Well sitting waiting for the *off* time
don't want to leave too early even though I have
two banks to hit, & the post office for stamps ,the
Pharmacy and grocery store for milk and tuna

Vicky not sure what you mean about the pills
as what happens here or has in my case ,I was already
taking my BP  and cholesterol pills when the Dr
added the reflux pills ,the insurance company
allows most people to get a 90day supply being cheaper
so my BP pills etc were already down to say 30 days left
so when he added the new pill I am getting today the BP
pills would be needing to be refilled before I have finished these
The same thing happened with my Thyroid pills ,that run out
before my others confused2

Sun's out here now but they say it's chilly out

Ok enjoy your meal at little Palmers

Sounds like things are moving along at your daughters

Be back

Cold out.

Enjoy your meeting with Linda Carole.

BTW our prescriptions are just added on and so you get them altogether on the same prescription. confused2 you'd think you could do that over there with no problem Carole.

We've recorded Luther Bond so not watched it yet.....was nattering to Susan this morning and she said from the off she was saying "This is scary" affraid

The builder is back tomorrow.....pulling out the fitted wardrobes from the guests bedrooms, then it's downstairs and knocking walls out and building a wall up.

Right we're off to small Palmers.

Happy knee trembling day ???? Bond

Well back to the grindstone both lads back to work

Meeting up with Linda at 1230pm for lunch but have
a few errands to run before meeting up with her
one is picking up my 90 day supply of one of my four prescriptions
that ran out ,too bad they do not all do it at the SAME time
but cos one started the different pills at different times that
does not happen confused2

After hitting 60f yesterday our HIGH today will only be around 38f
with the chance of some light snow over night he is saying
Rain returning Saturday ,its been wet since August as they
were going over it yesterday saying how our weather had
REALLY BEEN different in 2018 .not normal at ALL

Just chatting to a girl who went to Broad Street school on
FB she lives now in Minnesota, having come over here 50 yrs
ago with her American husband who was stationed at Upper Hayford
near Oxford
Well I did not win ANYTHING of the 450mil Mega lotto
not sure yet if ANYONE hit the main prize a few hit smaller
amounts which would have suited me fine confused2

So Bond did you finish your paint swiping ?

Good morning Vicky and Marge

Will catch you all later run run run run
