Morning Choccy fish fish always nice seeing you
I see its Gus's birthday soon ,wonder how he is doing
being as Malc never comes in any more we don't know
do we

Went cold during the night so after sweating all day yesterday
and lowering my heat I woke this morning and had to PUMP
it up a few degrees brrrrr

Buddy woke WELL before it was time to get up ,I KNEW HE WOULD
with the clock going back ,but lucky for him I was ALSO awake
at what WOULD have been 5am {now 4} so got up and fed him
as I could not Sleep any more so confused1 my
before getting ready later to go to the shopper

My new avatar is my "gallery of Mark Pemberton's" photo's
of Coventry ,Spencer came home around 8pm last night
hung them all then went back to Carmen's for their trip to
New Hampshire today .....

Have enlisted my BIL'S help and will TRY to surprise my sister
with the print I have ordered for her for Xmas ,he will buy a frame
and HOPEFULLY grab the print when Mark mails it ,as he said
SOMETIMES she OPENS his MAIL {thinks she is missing something}

I only did this the last year of Gil's life opened his mail ,he would
KILL me otherwise had I done it when he was able ...

Anyway I see Vicky logged in ,so good morning to you have you
plans with Susan today ?

and only thing left to say is GOOD MORNING MARGE

Morning.......and it's sort of drizzle out there.

I did say Susan, Matt and Nessie should be arriving soon Carole.....they'll never leave Nessie behind Carole, yes they'll leave her when they go abroad on holiday but otherwise she comes with them everywhere.

Had a busy day......they've chosen which woodburner and hearth ( going to be black granite hearth and mat black woodburner) but they can't make up their minds which surround to go for.....so many different surrounds, anyway we spent a couple of hours looking around various places.

Nessie doesn't bat an eye with the fireworks, just doesn't bother her.....Benjie isn't scared of them he's more "What's that....Oi don't mess with my family or else." it's warning barks not scared barks.....but every time a rocket or loud BANG goes off he's at the window barking. Mrs next door came round to warn us they were having fireworks.

Hi Choccy P nice to see you popping in.

Hi Margaret.

Love the tree photo Carole.

Sorry haven't been in here a while. Yes fireworks all around on Saturday night and more tonight as well. At least I didn't have to go into work Saturday so I could enjoy them also a Park Run and footie. Should be interesting coming home on Monday night in the dark the fireworks should light my way home.

I am here at last, been playing
Room III and it is a real brain teaser.
Ian put 1&2 I on my ipad 2 yrs.
ago
and I think I have played them
3 or 4 times each so was really looking
forward to taxing my brain against
something different.
Its kind of spooky and some of the puzzles
are really hard, things have to line up
correctly or it won't work its magic.

Its another nice day here . In the low 70s

Cats got a good work out last night chasing
each other round the house in the dark!
Lorna left a lot late than she thought she would
as Cindy was picking her up around 7pm.
I got in two visits to let the dogs out
(Oh, yes, I let the dogs out!!!)
I also put them back in again each time.
I was going to go back over a third time but
Lorna got home before I could get over there.

I gave them some broken up water biscuits
as a treat, they were about the size of a
5 pound piece so broke them up as some of
the older dogs don't have many teeth and it
made them think they were getting more than
I actually gave them which was one biccy per dog.

So much happening around here, did I tell you my
seatbelts came for Big Red?
After the engine tune up, I can take them to
Amadeus in Hawthorne for him to fit them and the
sun visors.
All I have left is a new radio and some adjustments
on the locks. especially the lock on the hatch.
Both cars won't need another smog test until 2020.
The only damage left is a crack in the console between
the front seats and that will be harder to find than a
hens tooth!
I can even get the graphics if I want them.
I like its clean look right now as it had a few cheap
transfers on it when new.
Turning leaves on trees seems to happen anywhere
but here.
Jagger is sleeping just outside the door to this room
and Tabbitha is doing a face plant in the middle of the floor!
Just wait till I get up, they will be right behind me!
I need to do ablutions to the cats litter boxes today.
I also need to fill out my sample ballot to take with me
when I vote or I will get confused.
Better make hay while the sun shines I guess. TTFN

Took this out back just now
Blaine said Danny next door
is going to BLOW the leaves
up as soon as they dry out a bit
So I will give him a few $$ if he does ours
so I do not have to do them cheers

PLEASE Bond to the L & L
as I am sweating ,as its really HUMID
right now ,the rain has ceased but until
the WINDS pick up its a HUMID 61f fan

Maybe Susan left Nessie with her grandparents Bond confused2

Ahhh sticky RIBS OK ,that was my chicken wings last night
you needed a wet napkin

OK deciding what I will be doing ,have to pay the TV cable
bill and UI {Electric bill} so may just do THAT today and go
shopper  tomorrow ...

Ok Spencer's is visiting Carmen's cousin in New Hampshire
forgot she had one that moved from Puerto Rico to there

Good idea about the photo's Vicky I have paid for another one
from Mark and having him send it to my sister for part of her Xmas
gift ,have to email my BIL and tell him he needs to pick up a frame
for it though I will send him the $$ ,or maybe Wendy might find a suitable
one where she volunteers two days a week  sometimes you can
pick up great frames at those places

Wendy misses Coventry {although don't know WHY as living
in Plymouth right by the sea I would be ECSTATIC }  but
thought she might like a keep sake of our home City

Years ago we didn't used to have the fireworks going off for over a week as we do now, It's not on "Bah Humbug"

I was telling Rob I'm going to give him a list of the holiday photos he took so I can frame them as well Carole.

Susan, Matt & Nessie should be arriving soon.

BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR
then as normal over there, I am glad we do not get
the 4th of July fireworks being let off quite so much
as we used to in Stratford ....

POURING here or should I say a STEADY down pour
Not sure if I will be going to the shopper today
may leave it until tomorrow when I HOPE its better ...

Spencer will be getting up soon for work ,said he will
hang my pictures when he gets home as tomorrow
they MAY take a trip to New Hampshire {I am assuming
to see the fall foliage } so will not be around confused2

Would have asked Blaine but he is not as tall as his brother
like Gil in SO MANY ways ,in fact he got a LOT of his dads
clothes Jeans tops jackets and SHOES that I did not take
to the Veterans as they fit him EXACTLY
Plus Blaine is like a BULL in a CHINA SHOP ,the way he goes
at any thing talktohand so would rather my youngest son
do it

Glad you enjoyed your book Vicky ,ONE day I may start
again now the weather is changing more

So will we see you until Susan and Matt arrive ?

Bond whats sticky rose confused2
I will take a sausage and onion batch though please
with brown sauce

Have fun
And GOOD MORNING MARGE

Morning.......well Rob's dropped Laura off. We've got her school photo which is lovely.

Yes Bond we had lots of fireworks going off around here too......it'll be all over the weekend and all next week I expect and Benjie doesn't like fireworks.

Finished my book.....and started on the next one "Amy" it's set in the regency times....a father dies and in his Will he says the girls will only get dowries if they marry in the right order, eldest first, then the second eldest and then the third eldest and so on down to the youngest of the 6 daughters....the author is Mary Kingswood, so far it's brilliant.

Ok hopefully back later.

I think Margaret was saying if you have to turn the sound up because of the mumbling you'll know it's the programme and not your hearing if when the ads come on you get blasted.

Oh just watching "Escape to the Country" and they're doing the Peak District where Rob & Dawn were just on holiday  and we've just seen a landscape Dawn took.       and no mumbling.

Hi Bond......ta for the chip butty.....I'll pass on the curry sauce though.

It has gone fast though Bond.

Hey Marge thought you were like
Arizona ,but see you fall back like us
I am wondering how buddy reacts

I think I have always had to wait to shop
Vicky as being single all those years I could not
afford to buy gifts early out my pay had to wait
until I got my Xmas bonus from work in the middle
of December ,was normally a couple hundred dollars
so a lot of years you would even find me out on Xmas eve
last minute shopping for my kids

I agree Marge the stupid commercials BLAST out

Spot on Margaret that's just it....you turn the sound up, though usually that doesn't work it's still mumbling, and then when the ads come on you have to turn it down.

You can always tell if its the show or not by
waiting for a commercial here to blast your
ears off!
Some of the British programs come across
as being quiet compared with American
ones as I have to turn up the volume
a couple of clicks sometimes.
Usually the Bose is set to 37 or 38 but
it has to be 40 for the British shows.

I think why I am sleeping so late is because
my body is already on "Fall Back" clock
time and has been for the last week!
Its "All Change" tomorrow night!

Arizona chose not to go on summer time
years ago but its because its so hot there that
most of the outside activities are done after dark.
We on the other hand would be delighted if we
could stay on summer time year round.
I do think there is a move to put it on a ballot
so we can all vote on it.
Its sunny outside at the moment with a
small amount of mist still hanging round.
Its almost 70f at 10am.

The workmen are still next door tapping away
with a hammer. I don't know what they
are having done that's taken so long.
On the other side of me has had the weed sprouts
from the pepper tree cut back but has not taken
care of the big pepper tree by the side of my
driveway yet. (at least I cannot tell if they did anything)
Even if they were to slice it so nothing was hanging
over my side, it still would be dropping leaves and
dirt over my side as I am down wind of the darn thing!
That would not take care of the root damage its done
to my driveway either.
If it should fall in a high wind if they cut the roots, it
is going to cost him a whole lot more than having it
cut down!
I don't mind if he wants to replace it with another
kind of tree which will not be mature until after I
am gone. Then its someone else's problem.
If it were MY tree it would have been taken down straight
way on the first complaint. I think Cyd thinks if
he waits long enough I will forget about it.
He has another think coming!
He does not know me very well!

Its time I got some work done here,
I am off to get my flu shot and if
I can get in Super cuts the get my hair trimmed.
TTFN

Oh I haven't got all my presents yet Carole, almost,......it is Nov Carole after all, I usually start about Sept IF I see something that jumps out I'll get it rather than wait and then not see something I think they'll like.

you remind me of Ruthie  started her shopping Jan 2
Have not even thought about Xmas yet

Heard from Barb ,said she really enjoyed her meal
I took  over and could have ate the cauliflower cheese all by herself
Lol
All she is doing is calling her agency and the nursing home
that she was starting to train in before she got sick ,her biggest
set back she has no transportation ,has to take the bus so
the patient has to live on a bus line ,not easy over here Sad

So your going to be MIA  this weekend Vicky
Marge just be stirring by now ,our clocks go back
tomorrow but not
Marge

I'll take a couple bond xx

Hi all drinks, it was the new detective mystery Dark Heart it was on two nights Wednesday and Thursday but we never watched last nights
Feeling OK today so worked in the he garage with the door up but it was a over coat warmer by the door in the sun
There has been problems before about mumbling on some of big budget things, spend all that money on the sets and can't get the sound right
Right just going to get some chips any body want a pickle onion?

talktohand  Oh it's nothing to do with hearing it's just they mumble   confused2   I was talking to  earlier on and she was saying the same thing, had watched this programme but gave up because they mumbled so much.        What was it Mrs B was watching Bond?

It's nice out, the sunny though I did wrap up, went to Tamworth M&S I had a pizza and a    got some birthday wrapping paper to wrap Jos's birthday present so Susan will be able to take his present with her when she goes back.    They're all coming up here.   Might do the christmas presents also so Susan can take them with her.

that was one of the reasons
I had to buy headphones for Gil as
so many programs are so low ,and
with him losing some hearing anyway from
30+ years being a Drop Forge hammer driver
he would have to have the sound up SO HIGH

Anyway I popped to the store picked up some
more bananas and chicken wings as it's only
Spencer who eats tonight as he has work in the
morning so have them ,after first boiling them a bit
now cooking in the oven with bbq sauce ,finger licking food

Weird day weather wise its humid , poring rain in some areas
dry in others but overcast ,but they are saying the worse will
he later tonight

So buddy and I are sitting now watching tv
Back later

I'll be wrapped up warm when we go out.......the kids won't be here this afternoon seeing it's half term so no rushing back from where ever we go.

Morning.......

Oh that's one of my bug bears Margaret when we go to M&S to have nibbles....sometimes the A?C is so cold it's like sitting in the fridgefood  and this is when it's freezing outside  confused2  and some times we have another cold air whooshing over your head,  I got Susan to send an email (She's good at that) to their Head Office and they did apologise and say they'll sort it out....HA!!!   still waiting.

Bond's right Carole it's not the film but a TV drama which everyone over here raved about....really good, but I don't think they understand it over there.....even have to have sub titles.  they can't understand the guy who plays the bodyguard because he's Scottish

Did you tell them you thought you were starting with a cold Bond?     Hope it soon clears and you're back to feeling 100%.

Yes it's like when you're going to address the Queen Bond you're told to say "Mam which rhymes with spam"

I've just been watching on TV people walking along texting and not looking where they're going......tripping over things, into things....off the pavement into the road.    Mad    The other day when we went to pick David's car up from the Jag garage a couple in their middle twenties (well that's the age they looked) where also sitting in the reception waiting for their car and the girl had a mobile in each hand and she was texting on BOTH mobile.  confused2

Oh nearly finished my book.....it's interesting, though I'll be handing it in for the book charity shelves.

Ok back later........

nono Bond over here they would not have
given you the flu shot if you were getting a cold
I know they say it can give you slight symptoms
of the flu after having it ,and yes SOMETIMES
the place they "hit" with the needle CAN hurt some
that is why I always have it in my RIGHT arm being
right handed  as my old factory  used to say
the more you USE the arm the less it will hurt
I have only EVER had ONE  reaction and that was when
the younger nurse at work administered the shot
when Shirley Madden was off,I had been sick so had
put off the shot till later and she gave it me ANYWAY
instead of waiting a while longer ,I came down with what
looked like SHINGLES around my "trunk" all from being given
the shot TOO EARLY ,thought I was DYING I wanted to SCRATCH
so bad headbanger
But that was the ONLY time and that was back in 1978  confused2

Well we are under a HIGH WIND warning alert today
with  and thunderstorms as well at times into the evening
and Saturday morning....
Spencer has to work today as one of the other men is on holiday
this week ,that will be an extra pay day for him ....

OK so I shall love you and leave you its 64f ALREADY

MORNING LADIES

Morning Vicky

the cauliflower cheese over with some frozen items
she could make dinner with ,and I gave her the $35
to get her phone put back on if only for this month
She did not want to take the $$$ but I made her
but cannot help her that much trying to keep
Tracie's head above water

Sleep tired morning
I was so cozy, I fell back asleep after
waking up about 7am and feeding
the cats.
We were at the Olive garden last night and
they are still in the throws of remodeling all
done after the place closes for the night.
It will seat a lot more people but I wonder
if it will change the feeling. It definitely
made it colder as the A/C was working
overtime.
I had salad and breadsticks followed by
a Portabello mushroom ravioli topped
with a cheese sauce.
I had a cocktail made with sparling white
wine and fresh peaches, yum!

I got home just as most of the trick or
treaters were leaving and it looked like
they had a lot!
there were cars parked all along the main
streets so they must have come from all
over the southern section of our city to
trick or treat in our neighborhood.
I will admit we have 5 schools around the
local patch we call Seaside so expected
quite a few anyway but not the amount we
seem to have had!
It gets a bit expensive each year buying enough
bite size candies to fill a large mixing or salad
bowl (about $50). I don't mind doing it for our
local kids but some seem a little old for this
(meaning 13 or 14) and they have no adult
supervision.

At least I have no leftovers to finish off so that's
a good thing.
I have a feeling that there will be a chocolate
overload at Barry and Sheila's house over Xmas!

Its only slightly misty this morning here and bright
sunny again its warming up a little and humidity
and stands at 53% inside the house.
I ordered some items from a couple of catalogues
on the internet. I have ordered three pairs of shoes,
they are called loafers here.
A couple of pairs of dress slacks and stretchy jeans
and a new Pea coat (in red this time)
I might order a couple of Xmas long sleeve T shirts
as I have about four plain ones anyway that I can dress
up with Xmas pins.
I am looking for some ankle boots as well.
I have a pair of black "grannie" ankle boots but the heel
is a bit too high for walking round London. I have another
pair that look like motor cycle boots(again ankle ones)
but they need new elastic on the strap that has the buckle
on it so if I can get that repaired I could take those instead.
They go well with jeans. I have plenty of separates to cover
the time I am gone that I already have at home as its
all a matter of layering for the cold but I know both houses
will be warm(Barry and Sheila's is like a hot house!).

I see its lunch time here so better get some food and tea
inside me.

Tabbitha has been laying in the sun coming through the
window in here on the corner unit and she has moved 3 times
now as she was getting parts of her head and body too hot.
She is now propped up on one of the windowsills in complete
shade with her butt hanging over the edge!
Don't know where Jagger is , probably in the hallway.

I'll have a mini bar please and  raise you some jelly tots & a packet of milk bottles.

I hear "The Body Guard" we saw on TV a few weeks ago is confusing the American's because he calls her Mam and they're thinking she's his mother.

I've been watching the programme about the Tower of London ....one of the Beef Eaters was saying he's been asked "Did they build the Tower there because it's near to the underground?". confused2  also "Why hadn't they installed lifts when it was built?"   Mad

Congrats to Tracie.....hope it's not long before she gets a job it's not as though she wouldn't be a hard worker.

Carole stop over doing it.....ask for help, oh that's a point what about Barb helping you and you paying her a small amount?.

Hello guys (  & girls )
Dropped off the cauliflower cheese to Barb
seems her phone was cut off yesterday
( her court case is for Dec 4th that her landlord
is bringing against her ) they will either work
out a  plan with him ,or give her X amount of
time to relocate as she is on what they call
Section 8 (hardship) where the State pays
a percentage of her rent for her as she does not
earn  enough
So having the phone turned off is another cross to bear  Sad

She has been put back on medication as some of
the symptoms  she had a few weeks came back
so cannot work ( not contagious ones )

Tracie just txt me she got her Registered Medical Assistant
certificate ,out of 100 she got a 91 ,but now she STILL
needs a JOB ,has the smarts but still they want experience Sad

Sunny here and at 63f ,was going to mow up more leaves
but legs are killing me ,guess I OVER DID it a little the last two days

Morning.......well didn't have any trick or treaters though when David took Benjie for his last walk he said there were loads trotting about.....but none knocked here.      telephone  me and said "I keep buying these sweets but nobody calls"  I was telling her but if you didn't buy some sweets you'd bound to get a few calling at your door.    confused2

We've had to re-book our Christmas meal.....first of all Claire found out she would be working on the 27th Dec  then Susan & Matt were told the company wanted some people to go in on the 27th so everyone's name is being put into a hat and if you're pulled out you're working that day......so Susan  telephone the venue to see if we could switch dates....she then  telephone  Steve & Rob to see if the 28th was ok for them.....and it is for everyone   cheers  so it's now booked for the 28th Dec.
