You've painted your kitchen table Bond?

It's a shame so many Hamley's closed down, lovely stores they are.

Stayed in today even though the weather wasn't bad.

Dinner's ready back later.....

Years ago Ian was a temporary Xmas hire
there but found it was very chaotic.
He could juggle so was a magnet for
the kids.
He learned at one of our annual Renaissance
Faire's from an expert.
I remember he disappeared for about an hour
"just looking around" he said. There was lots
to see so we had arranged to meet up for
a huge turkey leg lunch.
We did not find out until we got home that
he was quite good at it.

Because I thought that Paddington might be
sold out in the toy store ,I ordered mine on line.
I have at least 2 other anniversary Paddington bears
and now the one released when the film came out.
All told I have about 6 or 7 ranging from 8" to
the tiniest ones in a miniature suitcase he carries
and a tiny one fits in the smallest carrier bag you have
ever seen.(about an inch tall).
I actually have one bought at Paddington Station.

The ones I like the best of all the bears are the 2
police
officer bears, one is dressed in a cap and a Hi Vis vest.
The lady one wears a jumper with the correct cravat
with her school type felt hat. They both have ID badges.
Those came from Hamley's.
They were on sale to benefit a police charity.

Well, all the shopping is in and I have started to line up
the toiletries and meds to take with me.
I just need to get the suitcases down today and start packing.
I have three long sleeved T-shirts to wash that just came so they
will be ready tomorrow.
I wash them in the delicate cycle and hang them to air dry then
put them in the dryer on the coolest cycle to dewrinkle them.
They come out perfect.
It was quite warm here yesterday so ran round in short sleeves.
Got my hair trimmed so its out of my eyes again.
Glasses are readjusted perfectly ,they don't slide down my nose
anymore and don't hang away from my head when I bend over.
I am prepared for the cold weather.
Got two gift cards for Melanie and Jim for a department store
up where they live, will be sending them off in a card today.

I am afraid that Vincent's Mums stuff will have to wait until I
get back when the Xmas mail has slowed down a bit.
It might draw too much attention with a customs declaration
on it that says "old costume jewelry".
Have to pack it so they cannot shake it or feel it and lie about what's
in it. Lots of bubble wrap and cotton wool. (and in a box.)
I would mail it from Ian's but I don't want him to know that I am
in the UK or that that is where Ian is.
I know him well enough to know the minute he finds out, he will be
on the doorstep asking for a hand out.
He believes that all actors are rich not struggling to make enough
money to pay the bills every month.
I just told him that Ian is self employed and said
he has times when there isn't any work ,which is true.

Its 9am here so time for breakfast and off to work I must go.

Marge ,just looked in my weather ball
for your upcoming trip Thursday will be sun and clouds
with a high around 44f but after that it's saying temps
will be every day in the 50's till you return with a possible
rain shower once in a while

Morning Vicky

Actually I have been a bit cagey about
when I am leaving.
Its the 19th, Wednesday. I will be back on
the 27th,a Thursday.
Ian just messaged me about what I normally
have for breakfast so they can get something
in for me.
I think I will just miss the Virgin Pilots strike
both ways and I think Ian has us covered for
the trip between Heathrow and Woking.
I know it will be the usual mess at HRL as its
Xmas and the weather might be bad.
I have asked for a golf cart or wheelchair for
the transit from the plane to the baggage
pick up as its a long walk for me .Once I have
the cart I can manage the part through customs
and departure knowing the Ian is there to help
on the other side.
Its going to be one checked suitcase, one cabin
sized roller and my handbag/briefcase.
Found a whole lot of my jewelry boxes stashed
under a pile of clothes. Still have not found my Xmas tree
pin but found the star one so that will do.
It even had my holly earing's in there!

After the big clear up of the top of the bed, there is now
room for the suitcase. With the valet case I never have
wrinklie clothes as all the dresses and tops are only folded
in half inside. This trip its long sleeved cotton T-shirts
and jeans with one outfit for dressy wear. The T-shirts
can be rolled with no problem and jeans just fold
flat anyway. I have two big coats that are quite
bulky but again the regular rollaway is big enough to
fold them flat in half. I am wearing a lighter jacket
for the flight and can switch it out right at the airport for a
bigger coat when I get there.
I have gloves and a scarf and a wooly beanie if needed.
(usually do not wear head gear of any kind) but I have
found my black beret with the feather flower on it.
I cannot stand hoods of any kind.

I do not feel the cold as much as some people do
but I can add an extra layer if needed.

Got invited over to Lorna's last night for dinner.
She served pork chops with mixed veggies and a
small salad and a glass of red wine.
I know she has plans for Xmas day over at
Teresa's house so its not like I am leaving her
alone on Xmas.
She has had all her Xmas prezzies from me.
She did not want anymore froo-froo so the
metal mesh glove and gripping work glove
are her gifts from me. She insisted on paying
for the small metal cat feeding dishes I found
for her but I hid how much they really were.
All I need to get her is a box of Walkers shortbread from
the local CostPlus World Market store and she will be
a happy camper.
Going to watch the second half of Liverpool vs Man U.

Morning people ,better Sleep last night
for what ever reason Buddy stayed put most
of the night and when he got off the bed he came back gently
and went back to with me ,so we did not get up until
almost 6am

ITS POURING here temps right now are above freezing mark 37f
but FEELS like its 29f looks like I am going to get a wet shirt going
to the shopper ,IF I go today as I could go tomorrow Shocked

Marge your not like me {your like Vicky} last minute packing
when i have gone on trips my cases have normally been packed
at least a WEEK ahead

Vicky trouble with your weather is by the time Marge LEAVES
California and arrives in the  it will ALMOST be TUESDAY Mad
So lets hope your weather improves for her trip

Had a few more cards yesterday ALL from the UK and ALL from
people who KNEW Gil was not here any more ,one from my
school friend Pauline McPheat who says she HATES to write and tried the
internet but did not "take to it" but said her new years resolution was
to write MORE ,I will not be holding my breath Rolling Eyes
She married her husband Tony Wheatley when she turned 16 three days
after actually as she wanted to marry before that even with her parents
consent as they got in the family way when she was 15,she was 16 July 28th
1959 married on Aug 1st and had Tony Jr Sept 18th ,could not
marry before she was 16 even in Scotland Gretna Green ,so next year
will be their 60th anniversary {as it would have been ours from day one}
and her kids want them to do a big party but Tony has health problems
and they are not sure they want to do that yet {he is two months older
than Gil would have been next Sunday ,79} Funny we both found boys
three years older than us when we were 14 but they stayed together
like I think had we not come here we would ALSO have done Sad

OK enough reminiscing....

Enjoy your day stay warm dry what ever

I didn't think Ashley would win it because the viewers don't like the idea she's been dancing since she was 3.....the reason she was in the bottom 2 so many times and only the judges kept her in. I did think Faye from Steps might win it, though being in Steps she wasn't a novice to dancing so it was good that a non dancer who has come on leaps and bounds won it.

Robert Crais is on my top 10 reading list
because as you say its is set in and around LA.
I also like Michael Connelly because its also
set in LA.
Both authors are very true to the language
used on the street but its not too bad.

I also like Bryant and May of the perculiar
crimes squad. From which, I have learned so much
about London that I did not know.
Its more about the ancient detectives and their squad
who solve crimes in a way that is far from normal.
It is quite amusing at the same time.

I am so proud of myself I did my round robin of errands
and only missed one, I did not get BB gassed up.
She is only on the half way mark anyway.

First stop was Pet's Mart got a case each of Salmon,
Tuna and chicken. 72 small cans in all.
Stopped off at the Verizon shop but the line was too long so
left that until today.
Picked up the drycleaning then on to
pick up the boots and bag from the cobblers.
and from there drove over to the other side of the city
to Chefs Toys to order a metal mesh glove for Lorna.
Her hands are smaller that mine so I am keeping the other
medium one. They tell me it should be in by later this afternoon.

Stopped off at PetCo to refill the plastic jugs with kitty
litter (I get a dollar off each one and I don't end up with bags
or jugs in the bins each week.)
My attachment for my iphone came while I was out so its just
the 2 long sleeved T-shirts now.

I am aiming to pack on Monday. I don't need to leave for the
airport until around 11:30am. Lorna is dropping me off
and will pick me up when I get back, this time I will have my
phone with me so I can call her to pick me up when I get back.
Made the mistake of not taking it with me on my last trip.
It saves paying almost $35 on cab fare each way.
It sounds like the weather is going to be lousy this week end
over there . Here its going to be warmer they say.

Its ATM this morning then CVS and grocery store and gas station.
I am going to get my hair trimmed on Sunday at Supercuts.
I still have to notify Visa on my other CC and the Police
vacation notice.
I still have time to take my iPad in to the Geek squad.
I found my UK money, I have about 85 pounds. I gave
Ian some of it when a note I had was going out of circulation.
I will be able to get money if I need it while at Ian's as I can
use ATM Visa card as it is good at Barcleys banks
and I am not charged a transaction fee.
Don't think I will stop the papers or the mail if Lorna is coming
over at least twice a day. She is off for the School Xmas vacation
2 days after I leave.
I think I have covered it all for now run run run run
Its time for some breakfast and my pills. TTFN

And down comes the rain.....so we're certainly staying in, the Met Office are saying freezing rain will hit Britain this weekend.    Susan sent us some photos of the frosted window they've just had put in in the en-suite and she was saying it was raining while the guys were putting it in.

The woodburner and surround is being done on Tuesday......that'll be it until January when the builders are back.

So the Scottish Parliament coffee shop has banned the name "Ginger Men" it's "Ginger Person" Mad the worlds gone mad.

Fingers crossed for both Carman and Barb then Carole.

Glad you managed to get out Margaret.....wish I could have scrambled eggs.  crying   I've been having cheese toastie and at first it was fine....but the other day I realised I'd over done it, so maybe once in a while.

I know when I first came to visit David's parents I couldn't believe how warm it was as we hit the Midlands....it was late Nov and we had deep snow in the North....got near the Midlands and it was warmer and of course no snow,  I was so used to having snow, real snow as well, from Nov until Feb....it always goes warmer once it snows, we in the North used to say "Once it snows it'll be warmer"    as you say Margaret elderly locals where I lived used to know when it was going to snow.    Though coming from a place where we had snow for so many months you'd think I was a dab hand at walking on snow, not so.....Bambi on ice I used to be and still am, injured myself falling on ice last year in the Asda car park.   Hated it and still do.

I'm loving my book as well Bond.

Awww Father Christmas.

Avatar is an older christmas card which I thought years ago would make a nice christmas avatar.

Morning Bond ....anyone need a catmilkbowl alarm clock
headbanger ......3am LAST NIGHT AGAIN when I do not move
he eventually goes into the living room and climbs on his stool
and falls to

Spencer was home by 9pm last night and I was almost in YA YA LAND
Sleep ,but he showed me the flat Carmen and he went to view
seems the first one was too small ,but the realtor had another one
they were fixing up where the rooms were larger ,all brand new hardwood floors
new appliances windows etc not that far away so she has put in an application
for it with them plus Section 8 and has to wait and see what happens
In the mean time Barb said she went to see two that might be ok for her
but was having a problem packing all her stuff up and asked if I had
any boxes ,unfortunately all we had in the garage went out when we
cleaned it out months ago
One of her daughters  is away at college ,but sounds like she is not getting
much help from the 20 yr old and her 18 yr old son who graduates in January
confused2

Weather today cool with possible light showers {rain not snow}
Spencer in the shower so I should be away as want   to throw in my washingbasket
when he leaves

MORNING MARGE  MORNING VICKY
Be back later scooter1

Yes Vicky the two main male actors
in Grace and Frankie are Sam Waterson and
Martin Sheen
Apparently they are gay ,and have been hiding
their feelings for each other for the last 20yrs
of their marriages ,Grace (Jane Fonda) to Robert
Martin Sheen ,and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) to
Saul (Sam Waterson)
It's all about what happens in their lives

Hi Marge ,nice that Lorna took you out for breakfast

A lot of people do not realize that the temps have to
rise for it to snow  .....

Tracie text me earlier said she was sick ,not ill
but mad sick ,she has no $$ to play lotto down in Florida
But showed me what came out last night

7-2-3 straight ,which would have given her either
$250 had she played it back up ,or $500 straight
For a dollar bet  Sad
That's the date Gil passed

Anyway I am away for my shower shortly
Have a good night

We are back now.
I had "Moons over my Hammy"
A toasted scrabbled egg sandwich with slices
of ham in it and Hash browns and
two cups of coffee.
Denny's always has good coffee.
We caught up on the weeks happenings
in the N/H and I told her about Ian trying
to convince me that it was my idea to put
the cases away up out of my reach.
(Its not really).
It will worry him enough until I tell him I
have got them down. :-D
He thinks all I have to do is call someone
to come and do it for me but all the able bodied
are at work and the retirees are older than me!
I am not that decrepit yet thank you very much!

Its round up day today so its cats litter boxes first
and then I am out the door to get gas in BB and
pick up the last of the list I have.
I cannot decide if I have an allergy or a slight cold
but will not let it stop me when my mind is made up.
TTFN

sometimes when its bitterly cold, its
too cold to snow.

I lived in the open country side for
4 years with Peter at Cranfield in
the wilds of Bedfordshire (and they
could not get any wilder in those days)
so the locals all could tell if snow was due
or not. The farmer we paid the rent to on our
22ft caravan, the local farm where we got our
eggs from and the local small holder with his
big old van which was a mobile green grocers
shop. All were experts on the weather.
I mean REAL experts.
Its 55f at the moment and the high is expected
to be 67f with an overnight low of 49f here.
so I think its coats this morning.

Lorna just called and she is taking me out for
breakfast in 15 minutes so will end here,
Might be back later. TTFN

tired Morning
I think Buddy is in training for when the clock
go FORWARD again tired

Bit warmer this morning in the 30's starting off
could reach 45f cheers HEAT WAVE

Marge bet your on your "count down " these next few days
will Lorna be able to manage your cats while your gone ?
Hope so as I am sure they will wonder where their mummy is
especially at night
Lets hope the pilot strike does NOT AFFECT your plans
I had heard nothing about it
Not good having things like that happen while your traveling
I thought it was bad enough when I was over there when the trains
went on a slow down {90's}and I got stuck MILES from where I was heading
{Chichester} good job my sister Dawn was able to drive to the little
town I found myself stranded at and pick me up as I could not get to where
she was on the main line ,what a NIGHTMARE headbanger

Well Vicky one thing you can always bank on is Bond having your back
as I see he is in agreement with your statement on

Just realized I have a Thyroid Dr's check up Monday ,good job I checked
my calendar
Found out the landlady had an Insurance adjuster with her Wednesday
and they did a tour of Danny's house and I am assuming next door
assuming she was at home as she is looking to get another insurance
policy ,probably because she has not paid the one she has ,
Blaine said our side is in better condition than Danny's soon to be Ex's
so too bad I was not here ,but she never said ANYTHING about bringing
anyone with her when she was picking up the rent checks confused2

Have a feeling she will lose this house eventually ,she does not do anything to it
until things are falling apart ,I have the water company leaving notices
on MY front door {she pays the water bill} saying unless we pay the water
will be shut off ,one reason Spencer took the other utilities over so the
lights and oil for heating stayed on,but she has to maintain the furnaces
mine and next doors that services 19 and 19A ,last time she was here
she said she had to call for a winter check up ,still waiting ,good job {touch wood}
that mine runs well ...ah well what ever happens happens
Carmen sees a new place today just across the intersection near where she already
lives so fingers crossed

Barb has until the 27th to get out and find somewhere before the sheriff carts
all her stuff onto the sidewalk ,and she is having a job finding a place confused2

Ah well have a good morning everyone ,Bond better loosen your top button

Not good Bond and it'll be days before anything is done.  Mad

Why should I make an excuse....push me too hard and I just say "No"  ..I don't say it often but I have, only the other week she wanted to go to the cinema but I didn't want to go and watch that film and said "Er...No, sorry Linda but I don't fancy it"  She pushed me too much a couple of years ago and I told her....  so I don't need an excuse....much better to be straight forward than lie. (make excuses)
