every day 7-2-3 and a couple of times its been close

Gil sent it out STRAIGHT so for my $1
I will get $292.50 {£229.20 }

Rob sent us a photo of the bike on his drive Carole. he was laughing and saying his garage was a triumph garage with his 1972 triumph car and his triumph bike now.   Rob's bike is a Triumph Street Triple R. 765 cc

It all depends on what we've had when we go out Carole to whether I cook a meal or not.  Just had a crumpet so that'll be it today after what we had earlier on.        was asking me on Monday if I washed every single day, which I do,  that was because the  washingmachine  was going when she called round,  it's just the cooking which has changed over the years......rest of the housework is the same though, that's not changed.   confused2 .

Oh I've still got some little red horns, tail and toasting folk Bond.....so I could be a little

Pale pink is the colour I still do wear Carole. Smile      Though in the 60's I wore black eyeliner and white lipstick.

Hi Margaret......

Peter had a little 98cc Sun when I first knew
him and he had an "L" plate on it!

I don't know how old it was but it must have been
very old as it did not like Gibbet Hill at all.
It may have been a messenger bike,
cheap and reliable.
Later he bought his Dads Arial Leader, one
of the first motorbikes to be completely
enclosed which was a 350cc if memory
serves me right.
Both Peters dad and mine had motorbikes
as young men and they had much larger
engines.
Ian had one for a while but it was a under
the allowed limit to be driven on the freeways
here.
Believe it or not but during the gas rationing
here in the 70s I had a German Moped which
top speed was 35MPH so with two wire baskets
attached on the back I could carry two bags of
groceries. You did not need a license
for it like you do a motorbike or motor scooter.

We had odd or even days to get 10 gallons of gas.
Luckily we had one of each kind of license plate.
but still had to use it carefully as Peter had
to be able to drive to work every day until
they started a car pool.
AHHH, those were the days (I don't think).
I have seen the new 3 wheel motor bikes
which are much more stable over here and
look really neat but I think I will give them a
pass this time.
Less fog this morning and as ever, bright sunny
Wind warning are out and I rolled up both blinds
yesterday but no wind here yet.

I choose not to participate in Trick or treat night
as I will be at dinner this evening and hopefully
will arrive home when its all over.
Some parents want to shift it to the last week end
in Oct as having a school full of sugar high kids is
no picnic. It is set to be at the same time as the
Mexicans celebrate their day of the dead festival.
(have you seen the film "CoCo", its a darling film
about this celebration of the ancestors ).

Wouldn't that draw away from the item for sale
Bond, if it took on a more life like look ?
Merchandising is about letting the customer
dream what she would look like in the garment on
display. Then again, its what's important to
the owners of the store that counts. They have
impressed me with their unique window displays.

I am way behind this morning as I slept like
a baby last night, only waking at nearly 9am!
I am reading a Bryant & May book about the
peculiar crimes squad in London. all the books have
been very entertaining as well as teaching about
unknown parts of London itself,
like the underground secret streams.
Must away, lots to do. TTFN

Was going to suggest a pale pink Bond
That's the kind and color that I used to wear
back before I married ,have never worn
a lot of make up ,just a little eye shadow
and the lipstick ,now a days though ,NARDA

Must be like having a load of young teenagers
at Leading Players @ funnytvprog

Marge late in ,she must have slept in again

Do you cook at home any more Vicky ?

I saw Rob's new BRUMM BRUMM will show you

Went to Barb's with her Cauliflower cheese ,but her
cell phone keeps going into V/mail ,I know she said
she was having problems with it yesterday ,so I swung
by but no one answered her door ,so put the Cauliflower
in the freezer ,it will keep ....

Lovely outside now as the sunny has melted all
the frost off my windshield ...
Washed my white clothes when I got back ,and NOW
I am feeling it with all I have done today so its
SIT DOWN TIME .....

Be back later though tired

It's freezing here as well Carole, well it was 47f when we went out and I noticed Asda had gritted the car park......been doing our big shopper  so the fridgefood  is stocked up also the kitchen cupboards.

Yes Bond I remember my uncle saying, as I've heard other service men saying,  "I'd rather have a Gurkha fighting along side me than any other person"    and yet we've treated these brave guys like dirt.

Oh Carole did you telephone  the vet?

Carole you're not supposed to hand out pills which had been prescribed for someone else.   nono   talktohand   I know people do but you shouldn't really.

We've not had any trick or treaters for years either, though we might tonight seeing 2 families moved into our road who have got young children, I've got some sweets just in case.      Susan was saying if you don't have a pumpkin in the window or on the drive  where they now live you don't get trick or treaters  knocking.

Yes it'll be a house of their dreams, when it's finished.....big job but it'll be worth it.

Right.....back later.

Hi Carole, legs down all done
Ill catch up later
Back now so just as I started to read Alfred hit the lunch time gong
Are yes louby lou's do hav  a couple of big girl models to
dress or undress for the window
Mrsb say the window looks lovely this week and
(it always looks good)  with it being close to Halloween theres a lot of black lace, the legs to this lady has on some very sexyTights,
I got her from another shop that was
renewing their models she needed a bit of repair and a paint job
but she was too tall for the window so I made a base for
her upside down legs and she is kept in two
half displays, when she was green she really only got used at Halloween and with her Red eyes the girls didn't like dressing her but now she can be used any time
Drinks trolly filled and ready mrbond

Morning Bond ,your lady would
be "POINTING" this morning here
if she were left like THAT ,as its down
to 38f ,but going to be another sunny  dry
day around 58f ,so no complaints from THIS
Limey ...

Too bad they do not make a more buxom model
for NORMAL sized people ,as she only looks like
a 34 B maybe A cup ?

Blaine is his DAD'S son for sure as he woke up
this morning with GOUT in his foot ,lucky for him I still
have some of the pills the Dr prescribed for his dad
that should knock it out toot sweet

Making cauliflower cheese today and going to throw
a small one together for Barbara and will drop it off
She is STILL out of work ,I tell you her here and Tracie
down in Florida in the same situation  feel like I have
TWO daughters  Rolling Eyes

Anyway enjoy your day ,no trick or treaters for us ,well
in the 5 yrs we have been back here I have seen ZERO
probably because we are a short dead end away from the main
drag I guess  confused2
Had the same problem in our old home {also a dead end street
that we were like here right at the END of} ,people never seemed
to come down it so the only kids we saw were the 4 that LIVED
in our street  confused2

So whats left to say is GOOD MORNING LADIES also

Glad things are going well at Susan's Vicky ,I am sure
she will be excited for you to see the finished protect
sounds like its going to be really nice ....

GRIEVE " and signs of "WORDS MATTER" of which he is too
ready to SPROUT OFF in every direction ...

Bond are your going to put her lipstick back on ?
Hope you put a coat on her otherwise she will be WEARING
HEADLIGHTS

OK time for bed ,my other prints just arrived from Mark

Just been reading a column in BBC ipad about who qualifies
as an American Citizen. They say IF you were born on
American soil you are classed as a citizen of the USA.

Under that classification , my Great-Grandad on my
dads side was born in NY ! so he was a US citizen!
His parents were from Northamptonshire but
married in NY and are buried in the state of NY!
But I believe they became citizens of Canada after
immigrating there with the rest of their children.
Great Grandad Guest did not return to the US as
far as I know.
I wondered why on the UK censuses after returning
back to Northamptonshire , they had the census
writer put "NOT an American Citizen !" for Frank,
their eldest child in no uncertain terms.
All the rest (6 I believe )were born in Northampton .
Before going to Canada.
I have traced one of their daughters on her marriage
so far.
Frank was born about 1856 but when he was 15
he went by Frank instead of Francis and on the rest of the
censuses he claims to be born in Northampton
(guess it got too hard explaining why he was born in NY)
Especially during the civil war here!
I can imagine he got ragged a lot about which side
he would fight on or got shunned as a "YANK".

 "Cowboys and Aliens" Bond.

It is a lovely tree Carole.

talktohand  Same over here Margaret now the brave Gurkhas have fought alongside our solders in all the wars since 1815 but it used to be as soon as they left the force they had to also leave the country and go back to Nepal, these days they can apply to stay in the UK  (doesn't mean it'll get granted though).....though if you get out of the back of a lorry as an illegal immigrant you're allowed to stay and then over comes the family....grandparents as well.

Any hot drinks going Bond?

Awakened at 3 am something by cats
snuggling on the down throw that
Melanie gave me some years ago.
Its light but cozy so they must have been
feeling a bit chilly last night also.
So once again I slept in this morning.

Been getting a little more organized
in the kitchen again after having a
lot of stuff hanging around like
prescription refills and replacement
batteries. now its all where it should be.
As I am emptying the old spices and
things out, its giving me more space to
store what I want.

Less foggy this morning and Mr. sunny
is peeking through. They were forecasting
high winds in the desert and Valleys for
today but that has changed now.
Dew point last night made everything wet
so cannot roll up the awning until its dry.

Been fiddling with my new phone to get rid of
all the notifications except phone calls and
e-mails. I still need a cover for it , maybe I will
try online.
I also need to search for a few more Kindle books
as I am trying to catch up on not using one for the
last 2 years so I am way behind on my favorite authors.
Some I can pre order so they will down load automatically
or put on a wish list.

Suffering from news overload at the moment, too
much bad news in a short amount of time.
I am refraining from watching TV as I can catch up
with the highlights on my iPad. I don't need to keep
seeing the same stories over and over again.

I see New Zealand had a large earthquake -a 6.1
but it was deep underground so not as much surface
damage as it could have been.

Now Mr. Trump wants to do away with what is called
"birthright" babies which actually is a good idea as
any foreign couple giving birth to a baby here entitles
that baby to apply for US citizenship at 18.
which leads to sponsoring that whole family later.
There are clinics and birthing centers along the US/
Mexican border who specialize in "birthright " baby
deliveries. It was meant for that child only to choice
American citizenship as an adult but as usual some
people made money out of it so it got twisted.

What he cannot change but he wants to very badly,
is to stop people serving in the Armed forces here who
do not need to be a citizen to join but have the right
to claim citizenship through their service .As soon as
some soldiers walked off base at the end of their time.
they were arrested and deported!
It is cruel to have to serve in combat and then get kicked
out of the country you just served.
Needless to say, it was pointed out to Mr. Trump that
he has no power to do that so there is a class action
suit by a group of ex soldiers who were treated this way.

Right now he is dealing with a huge caravan of south
Americans coming this way to claim refugee status from
the wars and drug cartels in their countries.
It was done before, after WW1and WW2, Korean war and the Vietnam
war for anyone who helped the US in any way as they were
on death lists along with their whole families.
The same was done for the desert wars and Afgan people
even now, through the US State department.
Trouble is the present government is so far behind that
its sparse staff cannot cope.
Here we are at mid term elections and the government is
still in disarray. I get the feeling that there will be a big
voter turnout this time.

Melanie phoned me yesterday and filled me in on all that has
happened since she went home. Jim has been released
from supervised parole because he has done so well.
But if his name shows up in a police report he will have
to pay a big fine or serve time in jail! they are proceeding
with filing bankruptcy and are working with an attorney.
So he is back home.
Just hope they don't fall back into the same rut again.
TTFN

Gosh it's cold out there....... it's been    all morning but it's dried up now.

Yes our *gas* is expensive because we're taxed that high....if the government didn't tax us so high we'd be in line with what they pay in other EU countries.

I haven't been watching Strangers Bond....we record it and often David will watch it when I've gone to bed.      He can't have watched the last one yet or he would be saying    "Well what was all that about?"

Been talking to Susan this morning......things are going really well with the builder, as she was talking to me the en-suite fittings were delivered.....yesterday they got the tiles and the paint,  they've ordered the wardrobes for the walk in dressing room and bedside cabinets, the fireplace has been knocked out and they've chosen the woodburner.  exciting, exciting.    Anyway it's looking as if they'll come up here instead of us going down there, I thought at the time "Do you really want visitors at this time?"  I know she wanted us to see what's been done.....though she does send her Dad photos most days.

Love the avatars guys.

My avatar is the poppy painting Susan's MIL did for us.

Good morning all from Atherstone a bit milder this morning as
The cars and roads looking a little bit wet
Well eight weeks of watching Strangers and they must think everyone has 72in TVs as the last answer to the story was in a letter that was too small and on the screen for too short a time for me to read and no voice over of th been letter writer so not that good in th been end
More work on the Octopus and the lady but first breakfast
Cornflakes and hot milk toast and marmalade some of that Crusty bread

Ummm I like beef/veggie stew/soup
ESPECIALLY with crusty bread ,Gil
ALWAYS loved the "heel" ...

Vicky don't forget our gallons are different though
so for my $20 I got just over 6gals ,our prices
are still $3+ talktohand Oh I know
over there it's a lot more , but ours is
up to what it was

Yes Bond mine tells me how many miles
I should still get from what's left in the tank

Don't think the weather knows WHAT it wants to do
today confused2

Think I would like to take a easychair

Its about $35-40 to half fill Big Red
and about $30-35 for BB.
Mind you our gas is expensive compared
to a lot of other States because we have
to use a special summer blend to cut down
on emissions which cost more to make.
Our winter blend will be a bit cheaper,
Its odd because California is a major
US producer or petroleum products
behind Texas but their local gas is
cheaper than ours.

This State at one time had more oil
drilling rigs than people back in the
20s and 30s! confused2
There are still remnants left in the shape
of pumping "donkeys" still able to draw out
oil from underneath us all over the place.
Its still cheaper than the UK because of
the taxes applied (we also get smaller
gallons as well.)
We have more cars than most other States
so on high inversion layer days the smog is
pretty bad. Its like putting a lid on a boiling
pot. Its holds in all the pollutants. It is a lot
better than it was when we came over in 1966.
Better catalytic convertors and cleaner fuel
mean less days of pollution.
We on the coast get cleaner air any way as
the ocean breezes blows it all inland.

Less fog this morning, I can see the palm trees
next to the high school this morning.

Been reading Sue Grafton's last book "Y".
Her family says she was not able to do any
real research on what would have been the
last book "Z" to end the series anyway.
They are saying that there is no way they could
even fathom what she had in mind.
So it will end with "Y". These are books I could go
back and read again and again and never get tired
of them. I have all the early books in the bookcase
and the rest are on my Kindle.
I feel the same way about Michael Connelly's books
on Bosch , the LA detective.

What Mr. Trump does not understand is that it was
his very narrow way of thinking gave all the very Right
Wing believers and racial and religious haters the OK to
wipe out others who disagree with them.
Its like its back to tribal warfare again as there is no one
universal enemy to fight.

He is now wants to reinstate the death penalty all across
America instead of banning sales of semi automatic weapons.
Our state has a death penalty but the prisoners usually
died of old age first after years of appeals.

Manson was only kept in jail because family members showed
up at every parole hearing to plead that he not get out.
This after having his death sentence over turned to life in
prison without parole but after a certain time he was allowed
to seek parole anyway. Thank goodness he died still in prison.
Its the world turned upside down.
To think we still have two more years of this before we can vote him
out unless enough dirt is found about him to get him impeached like
Richard Nixon.

I nearly had beef stew with crusty bread at Palmers Bond but they'd run out.

talktohand Oh David writes it down every time he makes a trip to the garage to fill up.....how much he puts in, how much it costs.

I see the owners daughter wasn't in the helicopter after all....the young lady they thought was his daughter was in fact an employee.

Hi all, yes mince pies are good any time nice to with cream or ice cream or just as they come all talking of eats today
I never bother about miles to the gallon or how much it cost to fill it up, just use it when you have to, this car tells how many miles you have in the tank, I put about £25 in a week and I never let it go below 1/4 full if I can help it. when I put my £25 in it say iv got about 200 odd miles in and I always think oh good I could go to Skeggnes and back but I never do.
I have had a bit of time in the garage doing some sawing and making the pirates hat fit the Octopus
Right a quick tidy up before mrsb gets back, home made vegetables stew and Crusty bread there you go you got me at it now
Back later

Yes it's chilly out there Bond.

We went to Big Palmers and I had a jacket potato, bacon, brie, canberry with salad and a small trifle.   and a  tea.

That's cheap Carole $20 for half a tank        my little car would cost £35 for half a tank.....David's just under £50 for half a tank.

Later...... might have a crisp sarnie later on.

Avatar is the sitting room in Dunster Castle.

Hello Vicky ,whoops sorry David's Ipad
It keeps clouding over so possible we MAY
get a sprinkle some time today ,or not funnytvprog

Popped to the store and filled my 4x4 gas tank
up ,it was 1/2 full and only took $20 so pleased
with that as I do not go far and it will last me a while
but always like to keep it above the 1/2 way mark
especially now the colder weather is approaching

So Bond you gave up your "man cave" I see funnytvprog
too chilly around the knees @ ...
And Vicky has done her good deed for the day ,so all
is well √

While I was out I got some more sliced ham can never
have too much as my two will sometimes late at night
make a sarnie if they get peckish ....

I have some meat doing in the oven with sliced onion
broccoli and cauliflower for today ,but while out after seeing a recipe
on FB for oven baked veggies with fresh chicken strips
I picked up some yellow and green zucchini and baby sprouts
and just sliced them all up and put them in a plastic bag with some
seasoning and a little oil as I think I will make them tomorrow
with some chicken I have

The HIGHLIGHT of my day planning dinner meals
talking of food just ate a 5oz container of cottage cheese with
some crackers ,that will be my lunch ....

Bond are you eating all the Xmas Mince pies ALREADY nono

OK back later going to sit a while
