PostSubject: Morning everyone..It's a new week...11/08/2014   Sun Jan 06, 2019 1:05 am

First topic message reminder :

Good afternoon all
I think Mr Mr Ray Winston would of sent the boys around to sort it out if people mest about with his granddaughter . I think back to me and if I hadn't met Mrs b on new years eve 50 Years ago I would of been off to Australia with mate who did go as both of us had no home life to speak of boat it was a £10 Pom in those days
Sorry to hear your a bit Moby Dick. Carole
I've got some Brownie points today I've gone around the inside windows cleaning them with .hot water .fairy liquid. And vinegar then polishing them with newspaper but its not like the news paper of our days but they do sparkle now
I had a phone call from M&S saying they were back safe and thanking me for doing the kitchen . Sara has gone to the shop this morning so Michael is putting the things back
I think its time for drinks then its sort out the bottle greens ready for hair cut time

Of course Caldicote or Caldecote now we should have remembered that Bond .....but I was right about a Chapman being in Margaret's family.   How wonderful  that Jacob's wife was the Governor of the school they started which still lives on.

talktohand  Oh I often find chewed up wood under my window sill Margaret....I do wish Bond would stop chewing them.  confused2

Avatar is the other side of the guest bedroom the furniture...they've got more furniture (chair and dressing table and full length mirror) in one of the other corners. Still got to dress everything.

I didn't want to mention it when Bond had been kind
enough to take a photo of the front door.
Its Jacob Caldicote(?) and he was my GG grandfather.
Thomas Chapman was my G grandfather.
It was Jacobs wife who was a governor of the Blue Coat
school next door.
It was intended to teach waifs and others born on
"the other side of the blanket" to get basic skills
like reading, writing and math along with those
household skills needed by a servant or maid.
It was to stop the girls going out on the streets
to support themselves. It evolved into the
school it is today.
The boys were taught manual skills at another
school.
Jacobs daytime job was as a silk weaver but he
took on the duties of sextant and clark for Holy
Trinity. (I think he helped dig some of the graves)
I only know this because of my Ancestry searches.

It was dry as a bone last night but woke up to steady
light rain this morning. Its not too cold as the
weather is being driven by a low off Mexico.
So its 13c/56f right now going to a high of 18c/64f
with an expected overnight low of 13c/55f .

I got my hair cut at the new place that has opened up
in the same corner shopping mall as the grocery store but
was not impressed. Next time I will go to another
Supercuts down in the next shopping plaza.
I have some indoor chores to take care of today so they
will keep me occupied.

Ian put a letter writing app on my desk computer and its
seems to not be working properly so will contact him
this week end to see if he can help me put it right.
I need to write a few letters, one will be to the
Gasser Brothers and the other to My MS friend Sue
who lives so near the deadly wild fire where all those
people got killed in Northern California. She will have a
hard time reading my hand writing so want to type it.

Its Melanie's birthday tomorrow and no time to send a card
but can have Ian wire some money to her to let her know
I have not forgotten my first born.
I have five days to get the house ready for its Termite inspection.
Its really only this room and the main bedroom that need tidying up
as I have stuff all over the place in these two rooms.

He need to have easy access to shine his torch in all the usual places
you would expect termites to leave their little mound of chewed
wood like beneath the wooden window sills .

I know we have never found a lot in all the years we have lived here
as the wood used to construct these houses was all redwood which
is naturally termite resistant. The only place we have found any is
the room addition and the garage (the old fence was riddled with
them so we replaced it with vinyl fencing).

The eaves are most likely to have some damage as they were
replaced when the "new" roof went on and they were not red
wood but treated I think. Any untreated wood is susceptible.

Another thing on my list, must find the folder with the warrantee
for the replacement roof ,I have no idea how long its for.
Its got to be a good 10 years since it was done, maybe more.
At least I know what it looks like!
Its all good from my end so TTFN

Sorry Carole but it's lovely here......I'll blow some over. "Blow blow" there it'll soon melt.

Yes I didn't want to go too high with my tablets and if this machine can help....well confused2 the other night I didn't know where to put my face, it's eased off at the moment but it's still there, just hovering, though not hovering as much since I had just a couple of minutes on this machine.

We'll be out somewhere this afternoon.

Morning from the East coast
we have SNOW looks like around 5"
so the most we have gotten this year
but its still the storm coming over from
Marge that MAY give up a LOT more Sunday
night into Monday could be either snowy
snowy or
Spencer and Carmen's son dropped off the fridgefood
and stove at 730pm last night but he did not get home
until after 11pm Blaine got home at 830pm as he helped
load and unload the truck after he got off work
Spencer must be KNACKERED this morning Rolling Eyes
He could not park in the garage last night as that is where
he put the stove etc and also he brought over Carmen's
two sofa's and side tables ,he is getting rid of his that is
getting old now and so the garage is FULL until he and Blaine
sort that out so he will be cleaning off his car as its covered

Did not know you were buying the machine Vicky so good luck

Thanks for the Bond ...............
Morning Marge will check in later as does not look like
I am going far today run run run run

Morning and it's grey here........we've got Laura, she's of course upstairs.

Rob said he couldn't understand how it had turned over.....and their lorry drivers are usually very careful. confused2

I'll have cornflakes please.

Later on I'm off to buy this Tens machine from the Acupuncturist, I phoned her to find out the type and number of the machine she had mentioned so she said she would order it for me and I could nip over and get it when it came in,  it took a day for it to arrive  so she phoned yesterday and I'm picking it up today and having 15 minutes with her so she could show me just how  it works etc.     She's been really good.

Oh it's brightening up.

Good morning All from Atherstone a bit grey here yet
Yes that was the photos of the lorry on its side but only couldn't work out how it got on it's side it's not a fast bit of road and no bends so all I could think was it's the shape of the under bridge that turned it
Breakfast and it's cornflakes and warm milk coffee tea and large L and L

Bless your little cotton socks Bond,
that was so nice of you. :-D

I am sorry I am so late but only woke up
just past 10am PST.

I did my grocery shopper on the way home
from the meeting so did not get in till past 10pm.
The cats amaze me, they do not fuss at me when
I am sleeping so late, they just wait patiently.
But boy, once I am awake its a different kettle of
fish! catmilkbowl catmilkbowl MEOW!

The forecast for today was mostly cloudy but at the
moment its sunny outside.
It was thick fog up the hill last night and coming down
was even worse, it was like driving in a low cloud bank
as at lower levels it was quite clear.
I do not have fog lamps on BB but knew my way
and stuck to the slow lanes. Its about the only
weather condition here that slows everyone down.
Its a long slow winding hill coming down so I drive in
low gear so I don't need to use the brakes all
the time.
BB was fleet car of some kind so is a very basic model,
she has no fog lamps and one door lock on the
drivers door only but she does have a rear window defogger
which I did not have on my old car.
I am not ones for all the bells and whistles that come on
more modern cars, too many things to go wrong I say.
BB will be 11 this year but still only has under 47,000
miles on her. (I have had her 9 years) I fully expect that
I will have her for many years to come.

I guess its brunch again today as I kind of missed
breakfast. TTFN

Hello ,glad you did not get hung up then Bond
and I bet Marge will love seeing your Avatar
she must be either Sleep ,or busy ...
Just watching the weather channel on the storm that
is coming from her side and will be traveling 2500miles
reaching US HERE in CT on Sunday night ,they are trying
to figure out which model will be right as
the European model is saying the storm will get higher
over us thus giving us less snow fall, but the US
model is saying its coming in lower thus all the rain the storm
is packing will be SNOW not turn to rain

Just had some not so good news from the baby sister who rarely
contacts me Donna ,Mums youngest by Wendy's dad ,they are waiting
on Biopsy results as she may have bowel cancer
she is 52

Be back later want to text Wendy and tell her as her and Donna do not
speak to each other

Bikers usually have more sense  confused2  I remember when the Graziers decided to go up market and so stopped the bikers (and I mean the real bikers with their Harley Davidon) going into their pub, they'd never had any trouble with them but when they started just getting the yuppies in they had so much trouble.  Just goes to show. Just thinking about it Bikers usually go to funerals on their bikes.

Hi VicKy no the bus didn't go that way but I did get off in Nuneaton to go to the art
Gallery
I have seen the picture of the Eddie Stobart lorry
The other thing I saw on the bus was the 50odd motor bikers going to a funeral in bedworth doing wheelies and very fast bursts of speed hanging out of car windows filming the parade
Tea

It'll be a while before Bond gets in, there's an upended large lorry by the bridge and the traffic is bad......he'll have to go all round the houses, as a matter of speaking.  Rob's took a great photo of it.....hope the driver didn't get injured.

And Matthew has been accepted  for the 6th form

Ah and there you are Bond, did you see the lorry or had it not happened when you were on the way home?  or did the bus not go that way? I'll put the photo on later..

Holy shamolie Bond your Avatar is

Well its "white RABBITS X3" today ,this was the day Blaine
WAS supposed to have been born ,but he was not ready for
his appearance so waited until NEXT Friday ,MARCH 8 1963
the midwife said he had been grooming all
those 9mths as his nails were all shaped and looked like
they had clear polish on and his hair, well next week I will show you
that

We also have SNOW winding its way up from Greenwich that
will cover us before stopping around 10am ,hopefully as Spencer
picks up the U-Haul truck to move Carmen's belongings at 1pm
More snow as well over night into tomorrow morning ,so what
we did not get before is threatening THIS month

Marge I would HOPE all the snow and rain your area /side has gotten
will pull up your water deficit Rolling Eyes

So Blaine is in the shower he is going to help his brother this afternoon
after he finishes work thank God

Hope you had a good night again Marge ,I woke at midnight and 204am

Yep just like my friend Lynne, her son, who was the one I used to phone to get any info her husband was in bits and couldn't talk about her without breaking down, so I decided to leave Chris alone and just phone Paul, anyway he, said they'd never seen their Mum down even when she was in the hospital not able to move, she never had that smile off her face, even though often the family had to compose themselves before walking into the room.  Sad

Yes Bond when your immune system is so low you have to be very careful.

That was actress Selma Blair ,who was interviewed
on ABC while she was having a MS  flare up affecting
her speech
Truly brave of her to do that in public she's 46 ,said
she had not felt *right* since having her son ,but the
Drs did not listen to her so it's been over 6yrs before
they diagnosed her with it ,saying before ,it was
because she was a working mom etc stressed etc

The in house ABC Dr said MS. takes so many different
forms there is no ONE TEST to determine if this is what
a person has and so can take a while to diagnose
..
Glad your friend Marge is trying to get out and not let the cancer
get her down ,sometimes it's the "attitude" that brings a
person through something like cancer

It's lovely that you have a group where people can join in Margaret.

New avatar....the start of one of the guest bedrooms, Susan was saying the two big guest bedrooms have loads of room, they could even put a chaise long at the bottom of the bed like we've got.

At least all our sick people are over what they had
and the BBQ place is not big by any means.
Its more of a sports bar with restaurant.
Next week its going to be the Olive Garden again.

There is one couple we have not see in a couple of years
because of their really bad health but Marion is starting
to get out a little more at last. Her husband has suffered
from Macular blindness for many years so cannot drive.
She has had bouts of different cancers so have relied on many
people from the old St. Georges group to get them to
their many appointments along with her grown children.
we would love to see her at one of our dinners.

A very brave lady appeared on camera for an interview
while in the mist of a MS relapse to point out that she is
not letting it get in her way of doing normal stuff.
Her speech is affected which Peters was not.
He was not in any pain either which is unusual for MS.
It mostly affects women but can affect men as well.

The more we can bring people out into the main
stream who have conditions they did not catch, but have to
live with every day, the better our society will be.
They need to laugh and be social like the rest of us.

Yes Lynne said it was odd being told to keep away from crowds or even family if they had a cold or such but she had to go to the hospital to have her chemo and you can't find sicker people then in a hospital, confused2

Good morning from the left side of America.
Its 15c/58f right now going to a high of 17c/63f
and an overnight low of 11c/52f is expected.
its light rain this time around.

Had a good night last night at Texas Lucie's
BBQ. I had my usual. BBQ shredded pork
on a bun with shoestring fries.
The big surprise of the evening was the return of
the lady who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
She is undergoing a course of chemo so had to wear
a mask but she said she was going stir crazy being
at home after several weeks. She was just like her
old self so she is not letting it get her down.

Called and made the appointment for the Termite
inspection ,its March 7th between 1 and 3pm.

I think I will call the Gasser brothers today and
talk to one of them about installing a fuel
injection system on Big Red and how we are going
to go about it in view of all the wet weather we are
having. I would like to have him up and running by
Easter weekend. I have a set of bunny ears and a nose
to put on him!
Have you ever seen a red rabbit?

Think I should check my voice messages as I have not
done it in a while, it only comes into play if my phone
is engaged. I did my answering machine yesterday,
only 9 messages on there and half were from the chemists
telling me I have a prescription ready for pick up!
I do have outside errands today but its all within a short
distance from the house so not too bad.

I have my regular meeting tonight up at the retreat.
That's only 3-4 miles away by road so not a challenge
by any means.

It looks like the sea gulls are back at the school sports field
or maybe they never left, do they know something that we don't!
They also congregate down on the local airfield between the runways.
In really bad weather they have lots of huge parking areas locally
that surround our very large shopping mall. Its just a short flight
to the beaches for them when there are less cars parked there.
Its been a colder than usual start to the year so far and the wettest
in years. there is another 6 feet of snow up in the Sierras but its
mostly falling as rain in our local mountains.

Up near Lake Tahoe a snow plough uncovered a car completely
covered in a snow bank and on checking found a lady inside still
alive! She must have got caught in the white out blizzard up there.
and pulled over and got covered by a deep drift.
The local L A area is still experiencing trees falling down because
of the loose soil now the ground is saturated.
There is more of the wet stuff forecast for the next few days.
We need every drop to make up for the drought conditions we
have been going through for several years.
With the Sierra snow pack hopefully we can have some of our
water saving rewarded.
Time for breakfast here and must take my pills so I can stay
in the pink! TTFN

Good afternoon all its been a good day with the players doing lots of acting type games like when is a bucket not a bucket, so they pick up a bucket and use it as something else
Or the big hat box full of all types of hats from a cowboy to Bob the builder hard hat so then they act out a little set then two people had to pick out hats and have a meeting between the two caricatures some very funny, Queen Victoria meets Bob the builder
It's a great sunset here
Vicky I think we may need a needle and cotton as your frock seems to be coming apart

Morning Bond enjoy your "Splish splashing"
then with your paint brush ...
Well got up at midnight ,looked out the window
and saw NOTHING white ,but when I got up at 445am
everything was coated in white ,but it looks like
a dusting here ,so nothing we cannot handle unless
you go MAD :driver: with your 4x4 as its probably
slippy

Hope everyone had a good rest ,all I have to do is
run to the pharmacy later and get some IBgard
as my stomach has been playing up these last couple of weeks
bloating & pain ,so bad some days it catches your breath when
you try to walk or stand headbanger

Be back later run run run

Hi all, just watched the Marigold hotel thing this time in Vietnam
They went to a art class, painting flowers but out the window looking over a river to a lake with what they thought was a big abstract art sculpture in the water then they were told it was a crashed B52 bomber from the war
Right last drinks of the day then bed
See you for breakfast
Nite nite
