| New Avatar Creeping Phlox Vicky THAT USED to look like this growing along the side of my giant rock ,unfortunately there is only less than 1/2 left as I said we have no soil in the back garden its all ROCK/LEDGE ,so it was growing in the little soil AROUND the rock good as Creeping Phlox like Lilly of the Valley's roots grow horizontally {hence the name CREEPING I guess} unlike most plants that send their roots STRAIGHT down but with all the wet weather we have had it looks like a lot has been washed away I did buy a few bags of soil a few years back when I was still ABLE to do the garden to help bolster the amount of dirt but it washed away as well so I see a little Phlox at the top and some at the bottom ...AH WELL I cannot get out to do anything about it now It also comes in Pink and White _________________ Carole B [i]

Ah so he does need to be checked out, honest Carole David had it done almost 2 years ago, it's a simple op, a couple of days in hospital and then he was out. IF Blaine needs it doing and it doesn't mean he does. but if he does he'll be fine. now we don't want you to be poorly Carole, Bond Carole wants a drink. Tomorrow guys. | |

| I think we just changed lanes to talk about the BBC instead. I remember when the license bought you the best in programing. Then it was revealed that the guests in Broadcasting house there to be interviewed were given Champagne and lots of it to loosen them up a bit. Its like a lot of other things in the UK that used to be the best but have been leaning on its success for too long. NHS is one, Transportation is another and the good old BBC.
There are ways to turn them around but the big problem is still its lack of planning ahead for things like flooding.
Any scientist could have worked out that 1947 baby boom would have led to a spike in the elderly population about now and what services would be needed. Better transportation means less vehicle traffic clogging the roads. The rail and bus service was meant for cheap travel for the masses. NHS was supposed to mean a service for everyone. Not having waiting lists of 16 month or more.
Here , its competition and money that keep everything rolling Not a good system if you cannot afford it. The only sector making the big $$$ is what is called BIG PHARMA. meaning the very large Pharmaceutical companies. They keep coming out with more and more drugs and advertise them everywhere so people think they need them and the doctors are persuaded to prescribe them by the reps who are pushing them to try them on patients. Most medical insurance plans are cutting down on what is covered now.
If you have property that was flooded at one time, you now must have flood insurance as its not covered any more under your general insurance plan. If you have lost everything in wild fires , its the same, you must have fire insurance now. Of course its extra money that people just don't have. Its all a big scam! There are people still fighting with their Insurance companies for the last few years because they had a policy in their hands that says what is covered. but no longer is. which was changed after they lost their property! You pay the premium each year and they delay informing you that it has changed until you need it. Its fraud but civil cases take years to be heard so most just give up.
Think its time for some breakfast here, getting more grumpy by the minute. I do have things to do. Melanie informed me she is now coming down tomorrow not Monday! TTFN XXX

| The program is not Points of View that's what it used to be but News Watch I'm watching it at the moment and the first thing that they are criticized the BBC for is their terminology and not calling Hamas terrorists And not the Israel v Garza war and not the Israel v Hamas war , This programme only lasts ten minutes and the second part of the programme was why are the BBC spending the licence payers money following Hand M to Nigeria and and a lot of the clip around Megan they don't follow Princess Anne or the other proper working Royals, | |

| This BBC app may have been put together by a team other than the BBC. Its very polished and its content is spot on with the other news sites I have so far. It needed a more polished image abroad. Most of it was still stuck somewhere in the past. Each country has its own view on how its newscasters should present the news and how much to leave out if it makes them look bad. Videos are edited as are the on air reports from reporters. It all has to fit a time frame of air time. Its the longer columns in the newspapers and journals that tell more details that I check with in publications known for straight reporting. The Wall Street Journal is one such place I check. It is a most conservative look at things happening that affect the world economy.

| Good evening all, it's a charcoal BBQ about the size of a office briefcase bigger than a laptop You would be able to cook six burgers on it I don't think Vicky is biased more the BBC is biased and they have got things wrong before And one sided breakfast TV presenters have been criticize for it on ( the programme I can't think the name of ) where people write in it been going for years and years I think Vicky's David had that operation for Prostate problems a couple of years ago Friday night again Nice chilled Rose' Got it ( Points of View) people write in with their thoughts on the programmes of the week and alot Of it is about news and how it's presented | |

| Its normal around his age to get a prostate exam done. I make sure Ian gets one as the Porters seem to all have had some form of swollen Prostate. Not always cancerous. The Kings was a normal surgery to enlarge the urethra but a test showed some cancer cells present so a course of chemo was prescribed to take care of any floating around. Peters father had that surgery done too years ago.
Been on the phone with Ian sorting out another miscommunication.
He and I can some times be at cross purposes. Vicky, I want you to know that I do most of my research on my desk computer. and the BBC does have a computer APP online which is a brand new one which I have been trying out. It is 100% improvement on the last version of their overseas news app. probably better than any version seen in the UK. I know you have a bias against them but so far this app has been covering every story around the globe. It is in no way connected to U tube. This is a stand alone app. which you can subscribe to.
I also have a news app which draws on over 200 news services for information world wide. I do my research and cross reference stories to make sure I have my facts right. I can if i want, to research the American newspapers as well. We do have broadsheet newspapers here not just gossip rags. The comments from the UN stand in each case.
Its very dull again here this morning, a tad warmer at 60f. I have been looking up prices for air purifiers as I need a couple in the house, its been two weeks of very high pollen count and some have a dual purpose and are more money. Also been looking for yellow "Bug Bulbs" for outside both front and back doors. They are in short supply at the moment. Theses type of bulbs do not attract flying insects but do give some light to see what I need to see in the garden.
These 1950 era houses were built with them in place. Do not need a spot light type security light which is too bright. There is a light that faces the corner of the house when going down that side to the bins but it is motion sensitive so comes on even if a cat walks through that area. Only problem is, it faces the bedroom windows next door so they get lit up too. Its all guys living there so bet it does not disturb them.
Up at 5am again this morning because of Miss Tabbitha. She is back in her nest at the top of her cat climbing tower, sound asleep again. She would not eat anything I put down for her yesterday but ate some canned red salmon I had opened. There is a cat version of wild salmon so will go and get some more of that. I need to get another rotisserie chicken and shred it as I know she will eat that. She is eating the shredded sharp cheddar cheese that I put down. Its only about a table spoon full but she licks the saucer clean. Busy day ahead here so its stop waffling and get cracking. TTFN XXX

| Another May grey start to the day here, Its 59f right now. rising to 61f and partly sunny this afternoon. Strong gusty winds should be starting about2 pm. Because of all the rain we have had we could have a problem with mosquitoes, so LA county is going to release sterilized mosquitoes to fight invasive species. It was done with spectacular success with the infestation of Med flies. as they were imperiling the fruit supple in this state. We all need to check for any residue rain water left in old containers out in the garden. I checked mine and its all damp earth drying out fast. The well known Wayfarers glass chapel is going to be dismantled to save it from further damage from the earth slips going on in Rancho Palos Verdes still. It was designed by the son of a very famous architect and is the most beautiful structure to look at. It stands in a grove of trees as if its always been there in nature. With a glass roof and sides and natural stone floor. seats and altar it looks like it grew out of the earth. It is one of the must see sights when touring LA. It is privately owned by a religious group but it is open and used by many of different faiths for weddings and christenings.
We, on this side of the hill still have our road up into Palos Verdes closed because of slippage along the sides of the road, the Plastic tarps are still visible from my back garden. the City has promised that all the prep work has been done so are ready to redo the road surface at last. Its a short cut on this side of the hill to get the best view of the whole of the Santa Monica Bay and Downtown LA right up to the mountains. Its like being in an airplane! Its from the park we call Rocketship park as that is where the playground is that has the Metal Rocket ship climbing frame that we all can see from our houses down here.
The local mountains are now opening up their summer season of hiking and cycling and fishing and boating on Big Bear Lake. The lake is within 3 ft 10 inches from capacity for the first time since 2011! The fire danger to the forests had been lowered because of the slow rate of the ground drying out. More brush growing but more moisture in it. More protection from lightening strikes causing fires.
Started reading Anne Cleeland series of books about a couple of Irish born Police detectives who married and often are at odds on how to solve crimes. Most of the books I want to read are not due for publication until later in the year. I have select favorite authors whose books I wait for with baited breath. In the meantime I have to search on my Kindle store site to find something that takes my fancy. There are certain books I can reread over and over again and one is the Faith Martin series of books about a female Police DCI who is based in Oxfordshire, her name is Hillary Green. She lives on a house boat on a canal. She currently is in charge of a cold case unit but was not always on it.
Tony Hillerman books about 2 Navaho Police officers. One who is close to retirement and one just staring his career. Tony Hillerman's daughter now write them. Felix Francis now writes about all kind of horse related stories like his dad Dick.
Not for everyone's taste but Kathy Reichs stories about Temperance Brennan. A Lady who loves a morgue with a body to dissect. Of course there is Michael Connerly and his detective Bosch. David Baldacci's The Camel Club is a good read also.
I have to start going through a bookcase filled with books.(3 cases wide) Some are easy to donate but others I want to keep. have 2 sets of subcription series books that Peter sent away for that are too good to give to charity. Need to find a good home for them. Well, Must stop waffling and get cracking here. TTFN XXX

| BBC.....well that says it all. they're always having to apologise for "Mis-quoting" specially when it comes to Israel. "BBC Apologizes for Falsely Reporting Israeli Army Targets “Medical Teams” in Gaza" was one, not that long ago. "The original Reuters report quoted an Israeli military spokesperson as saying “the IDF forces include medical teams and Arabic speakers, who have undergone specified training to prepare for this complex and sensitive environment, with the intent that no harm is caused to the civilians.” The BBC newsreader, relying on the Reuters report, incorrectly characterized the incursion by Israeli military forces in and around Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital" But then we've known for years you don't get the real story from the BBC.....no longer are they neutral They're too busy looking after the likes of Huw Edwards, on our money. BTW Margaret can't you speak for yourself???????? Sorry Carole and Bond, I read and wasn't going to answer but after a long time I thought "You can't let that go" I have to go and read what the BBC has said to get all the answered I've asked Margaret. No Israel never says how many dead ....why have your enemies jumping for joy, as they did when they heard how babies and toddlers were murdered by Hamas, dragging toddlers off trucks, out of their mothers arms, pushing them around from one Palestine man to another, holding screaming little kids by their hair or arms. Kamas used to tell the children if they cried they'd be punished, they weren't even allowed to speak, a boy told his French aunt how nearly every day they were taken out of the tunnels or houses they were kept in and people were told to beat them. Israel is bombed nearly every day, not just by Gaza but all around them....and yes people die.....but you know they say they'd rather die by a bomb than by the hands of Hamas. That tells you a lot. And seeing you can't say it Margaret Hamas will kill every Israeli it will be 7th Oct again, Hamas have said it "Again and again" they've said their goal is to kill every Israeli so Israel will be no more. And then around the world every Jew will be killed. Hitler all over again but this time it's Islam. | |

| I have a version of BBC overseas news on my iPad and it has a featured article on the Israel-Gaza war Written by some of their best reporters. it addresses many of the questions you have Vicky. It does take a subscription though. but there is a free version. Interviews with some of the refugees tell the story of the 450, 000 who have already fled Rafah headed to places suggested by the Israeli army With most of fresh water supply gone and some places already swollen full of other refugees or so bombed that nothing is left. there are not many places to go to.
Some 35,170 Palestinians have been killed so far and 82 in the last 24 hours. You notice Israel is not releasing its number of dead. In western Rafah some families have moved as far west as possible now reaching the ocean shore along the beach and were awoken by navy shelling.
This from Louise Wateridge,@UNwateridge
The UN and Western powers have warned that an all-out assault could lead to mass civilian casualties and a humanitarian catastrophe. Enough said.
Well, my by phone outreach got cancelled yesterday so its on in two weeks time. Must be lots of people need reassuring that someone cares about them.
I am doing well on my new medication so far. My last two BP readings are giving me hope.
I do wish my cat would understand that its not OK to wake me before dawn around 5am to meow in my ear and pat me to be fed. She is not showing any signs of pain or confusion and her appetite is still good. She is going to the bathroom normally so far. Her eyesight might not be as good as it was but she can still jump places if she wants to. Usually its the coffee table or the couch. She can reach the top level of her climbing frame by way of the roof of a small cat cave and a dining chair against the wall at rest. She is still able to jump on the seat of my office chair which she has just done. I am having my arm patted. Means her dish is empty, again.
Its Grey May here again today with a slight chance of some rain which is about 100 miles away at present. High winds are expected later. Only one bin out today and its the garden rubbish one. the other two are empty. Going to try and sort a few more things out in my bedroom. Got a box for some more clothes and items that I can let go of. Like the costume jewelry I have amassed over the years. some looks very dated now. I need to just focus on one small area at a time. I can sit on the bed to go through the Jewelry chest I have. Meantime its time for breakfast here so better stop waffling and get cracking. Vicky, Why don't you tell us what will happen when the fighting stops as I have no more to say.

| Well it's here now. For thee moment. Oh that's good Bond I believe in helping the family shops. What's the name of the book you're reading then Bond I've read lots of Ann Cleves books. I don't like the painting of King Charles. Of course I didn't get into them Bond I deleted. Yes that was Graham, his wife Hillary was ex police, she loved sewing, went to their Bungalow once and the stuff she had, but I didn't feel I could ask her how Graham is, she was very friendly but kept things close. and seeing she hadn't let me know I didn't feel like poking my nose in. Oh it's looking nice out there.....BUT don't think it'll last. | |

| Well chilly and grey.
Oh strange you mentioned Tracie keeping various things belonging to her two, I've done that with my 3 but the other day tidying out a wardrobe ....top shelf which I can't reach, David said "Oh look" and he handed me.....the avatar. Haven't a clue who they belong to, but they are at least 40 odd yrs old and if they belong to Steve or Rob 50 odd years old.
I'm still getting emails saying it's from Carole "Can you remember these photos?" and now it's from Graham "Do you remember these photos?" I think Graham has died, he sent me a PM saying he was very ill and thought he'd be with his sister soon. His sister died, I think of Covid and he was so cut up, couldn't get over it and just seem to go down hill. until I got this message.
Waiting for Asda. | |

| 04:58:02 Morning Its here muggy and RAINING with the temps around 70f later 58f right now at 5am Saying rain possible after 4pm Bond for you Happy to report my arm is improving slowly but surely with the help of a 500mg of pain pill only taken twice a day so far I love the sky also have many photo's of it Now I am NOT saying one cannot voice their opinions but PLEASE could we change the subject on Israel ,bad enough we have to see it here on TV all day every day PLEASE I have only one thought about it ,IF Israel stops fighting Hamas will do what Russia is TRYING to do in Ukraine and what Hitler TRIED to do back in history THERE I have said MY BIT and I am done OK next subject ....I see in Oscala Florida yesterday a bus flipped over and 8 people so far are dead I did not hear all the details yet but I think someone cut it off and he is being charged as there were over 35 on board and many others injured WHAT IS IT WITH on the ROADS THESE DAYS like one man was saying people wanting to go 70+mph in a 45mph zone .....WHY ????? Well I hope the weather is good this weekend in Florida when David and Chelsea down to Florida ,Chelsea was saying her brother had told her the TOTE BINS that Tracie has in this room that has no A/C was a LOT so that he was hoping the two of them could sort through them FAST and that the things he has found SO far was UNBELIEVABLE that his Mom had kept all these years report cards from school toys from when they were little clothes like Chelsea's prom dresses so he had been sorting things to keep things to "CAN" and things to donate which was so far most of her clothing Still have to decide what they are going to do with the house as her boarder was still there living {seems she has a few screws missing } harmless but a bit on the strange side ,plus David was not pleased as when he went last week he found she and another lady had been sorting through Tracie's things telling him she was helping him NO that should be left to her relatives to do that is why he wanted to get back and go through what was left as who knows what she was looking through OK so I am away I should REALLY pop to the bank and make a small deposit hopefully if it stops raining before two items that are due tomorrow come in and go BO"ING BO"ING LATER GATER'S _________________ Carole B [i]

| Oh reporters are talking to the young people throwing things off the trucks, they are doing it to stop Hamas getting it, a reporter asked them how they knew Hamas was getting it "We've seen them, not the people from Gaza but Hamas," again a reporter asked how did they know? "We watched them" another guy said, one guy near to tears said "I've watched them day after day, they're taking all the food and oil, it doesn't go to Gaza people, it just doesn't" | |

| I thought not you're like all the others who keep telling Israel to stop fighting but when asked just what will happen if Israel stop fighting.......they can't answer it, because they know but won't say. We had Gary Lineker talking to a broadcaster earlier this morning, he was going on about they {Israelis} should stop, though when asked and what will happen then, he said "But they won't" she asked again "And if they did, what will happen?" oh he went on "But they won't" Julia said "But say they did, what will happen?" and he put the phone down. He couldn't say just like you Margaret......Oh you both know what will happen but daren't say. "Shame on you"

| They will never stop the harassment of the Palestinians. nor help in their recovery. There are groups of Israelis ready to claim property in Gaza along that coast for themselves. What are the Palestinian civilian people left with, nothing. No hospitals, no shops or traders and very little in the way of houses. It will be through the good will of other countries that they will recover if ever. Israel will be patting its self on its back having got rid of the Hamas government that ruled Gaza for more than a decade. Not mentioning the thousands of innocent civilians killed to to get it that way. The Hamas make their home in Lebanon right next to the border with Israel and there the Hezbollah are just waiting. And Syria, Iraq and Iran, all sheltering elements of one terrorist group or another. There will be NO real peace ever between the Israelis and the Palestinians only a pause in open action. Its a shame as once they lived together in harmony. a truce is not peace. I remember the summit held by President Carter with the chief players pledging no more fighting but when those leaders died it started up again. Peter was in Egypt just weeks before it all fell apart again. Feeling were high even then. One of my uncles by marriage was stationed in Palestine as it then was to get the country partitioned. It did not succeed as the partition between India and Pakistan did not work very well either.
