| I had chicken & pineapple salad for lunch. David had egg, chips and peas, so it was just bread rolls with ham and a cake tonight.
You're right about trees and greenery. Bond. you'll have a good time though.

| Funny weather here. We in this half of the state will be going from an atmospheric river, to a Pineapple express! The pineapple express will be a warm front so only rain. It comes from a more southern latitude.
The Jet stream is fueling the atmospheric river which is cold so that will produce more snow.
It is only a fine rain at the moment here. Its moving slower than expected. It's been over a month since I turned off my sprinklers! there are wind warnings in exposed places like the desert. Get your vehicle sandblasted for free! The tumbleweed will be blowing all over the place! It's the dry creeks that will suddenly turn into rushing rivers that are dangerous, thank goodness they are nowhere near me.

| 04:43:12 Morning Well guess it depends on where in Atherstone you are Bond as my weather report is saying you have a 40% chance of snow around noon/1pm today ,Saturday more rain/snow showers 90% Sunday scattered showers 80% but it looks like some sort of presip ALL the way until SUNDAY Mar 19th So you may need MORE than your top coat and boots My sister said she just bought new "wellies" for when they walk Henry as they go down the park and I guess it gets muddy Here our weatherman is telling us that MY side of Connecticut will be getting the MOST starting tonight into Saturday morning so guess I will not be shopping Saturday morning He just put the snow fall up only 1 to 4ins here in Bridgeport 6ins inland so that's not too bad They are celebrating St Patricks day in the next large town over from us New Haven on Sunday {St Patricks day is Friday 17thth} a BIG parade there as a lot of Irish immigrants settled there years ago ,but its saying the weather will be OK for the occasion before the Nor'Easter arrives Monday which should be mostly and WIND So it looks like Old man winter is TRYING to catch us up Chiropractor again today every Monday and Friday don't know for how long yet so looks like I may squeeze the two appointments in Anyway hope the ladies had a good night You watch how you go Bond Saw this on Face Book from one of my old salesmen from U.S.Baird Corp A little imagination always helps, but your wording is the key. In Catholic schools students are taught that lying is a sin. Instructors are also advised that a bit of imagination is OK to express the truth differently without lying. This is a perfect example of this teaching: An attractive young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the priest beside her, Father, may I ask a favor of you? Of course my child. What can I do for you? I bought my mother an expensive hair dryer for her birthday. It is unopened, but well over the customs limits and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it Is there any way you could carry it through customs for me? Could you possibly hide it under your robes for me? I would love to help you my dear; but, I must warn you, I will not lie! With your honest face, Father, I'm sure no one will question you! When they got to customs, she let the priest go first. The official asked, "Father, do you have anything to declare?" "From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare." The official thought this answer a little strange, so he asked, "And what do you have to declare from your waist down to the floor?" "I have a marvelous instrument that has been designed for use on women, but which, to date, remains unused." Roaring with laughter, the official said, "Go ahead, Father. Next, please!" _________________ Carole B [i]

| I remember wondering why all the aristocrats , including our dear Royal family, going off to a warmer country in 1947, of course later I read about the terrible frost we'd had in 47. Explained a lot.
I remember having frost on our bedroom windows.....my Gran used to light the lounge fire, the only fire we used to have a fire though we had fireplaces in all our rooms, apart from the kitchen that used to be warmed by the oven door being opened. oh and we didn't have a fireplace in the box room or attic.
Those were the days.

| Sorry to be late on parade , interupted sleep again. Coventry usually had snow that did not stick and it was always January. I remember 1947, as it was the year I got enrolled in school for the first time. Frozen milk with the cream popping the silver top up like a hat! wet socks and shoes from playing in the snow on the way to school, all hung on the gigantic steam radiators in the classrooms. It was so humid we were sweating with our coats on! Now I know what a Chinese laundry feels like! We had our dinners at our classroom desks as they all could not fit in the auditorium at the same time. (No going home for dinner those days) Our play time was each class being given the freedom to run all up and down the corridors for about 15 minutes to burn off some energy. It took until April until the last icicles melted and there were no more frozen patches to slide on. (No child was going to get hurt while on school grounds) I was out in the wilds of Bedfordshire in 1963/64 and the country roads did not get ploughed for three days, we were running out of baby food so Peter walked across the airfield to the village to buy more. Again, same icicles and ice until April. Water pipes frozen even though we did what the college told us. draining water out of pipes and putting salt in toilets and sinks. Who decide to put unlagged water pipes outside! Frost inside the windows and no heating up stairs, (fireplaces the size of biscuit tins) Might never been swept for all we knew! Laundry hanging all -round the farm style kitchen on fishing line! Clothes horse in front of the only fireplace that worked. luckily there was an airing cupboard next to it. A favorite place for big hairy spiders I found out! We kept the wild birds fed with rinds off the bacon and some seeds and stale bread crusts. Melanie looked like a balloon in all her clothes and all-in-one ski type suit. Pram would not work so used an old wooden sledge we were given with the padded chair from the high chair strapped to it. She was belted in by the harness from the pram. The high chair was old too as it was all held together with screws not glued. It folded down into a play set with wheels. All donated by nice neighbors. I could make it across the College playing field to use the student laundry room and washing machines and dryers! Just room on the sledge for a laundry basket and the baby! The rain front here is due later today, so time to pop out to top up cat food. I know I have enough for two or three more, days. The main danger is flooding with streams and rivers, bursting their banks. The huge drainage channels have never been filled to capacity. but it is a swift water flow if you get caught in it! Its 58f and very here at the moment. I had a present delivered yesterday from my childhood friend and neighbor, Len. He is a hobbyist painter (Not on your level bond) but can copy a photo or print quite well. He did one of Ian for me which catches a side of my kid I do not see often. It's just head and shoulders. Ian is a prankster at pulling a face just as I press the button. Especially if he is in costume. I think it catches him very well. I have had breakfast and so has my cat. She is laying half on the windowsill and half on the top of the corner of the studio unit. catching the sun's rays. she can look out at the view and watch for butterflies, birds and squirrels. (Or any creature that ventures into our garden) Enough said for today hope you all are well and content, | |

| I can't remember not having deep snow when I was growing up, when David and I first got married I used to say to him "Doesn't the Midlands ever have snow?" because coming from Bolton to visit David's parents I knew when we got near the Midlands, no snow...... though no that didn't mean I could walk ok in the snow, well once I started work and of course wore heels, talk about Bambi on ice. | Good morning, been busy here lining up loads of laundry (3) . so far. Yes , to Blaine I also have a miracle baby who just turned 61! her surgery was done in St Louis for a close to the heart birth defect. She was 7 and a physical exam in that state was mandatory for all children, entering school as new pupils. Thank goodness, it was found and fixed. We are being warned about the next weather front, due here on Friday. With warmer temperatures, the snow below the normal snow line will melt and joining with the rain, will cause serious flooding. It might fill the reservoirs to overflowing in which case, they will need to release water to keep it at a normal level. There is a plan to use holding basins for the extra water to let it drain into the aquafers that are part of the artesian well system. i do not think it will affect us much locally as we already have aquafers built into our local area because of the draining of the verdant lake that was where two of our schools were built. What was the deepest level has only the sports field on it. (it was not very deep to begin with) This whole LA area is like a flat basin with streams coming down from the mountains and out to the sea. To limit flooding, they built drainage channels so it would flow a lot quicker. Only problem is that because the land in between, stayed dry for so many years, developers quickly built on it! now its slap bang in the middle of a flood plain! Homeowners insurance has now risen to take that into account. Not fair! I pay extra for earthquake insurance to cover any possible damage to my house. (Rain damage is already covered) Mr. is already out but it's still only 51f . The old furnace is set to 74f and its on auto. It's quite cold here at dawn but warm enough to not need it again until sunset. Did not know that both my kids were so attached to that tree out front. They grew up with a rope swing on it and it was part of their everyday play. Peter and I were forever taking balls down that were stuck in its branches as well as kites and model airplanes. As there are no fences dividing my neighbor and I, It was the place to play for all the kids in our end of the street. Just made some toast in my new Toaster for breakfast now its time to take my pills. Hope you all had a good day. | |

| Well it's been lovely though a bit of snow earlier on but nothing to write home.
Hope you've had a good afternoon with Emmett.
We've been to Coombe Abbey to pick up Laura'a 18th birthday......it's a weekend there staying in one of there super rooms, also dinner and breakfast, she's going with her friend Coby. Steve and Susan are also chipping in.
Sorry been nattering to Susan.....she's been telling me all about this bag website......really nice she said, the woman sells bags she's had enough of, top quality but second hand, she's also on QVC.
Thanks for the tip about Fergie's book......sounds good. The one I'm reading is ever so good,
Right I've got some bags to look at......back in about 5 hours.

| Its another morning here but still only 53f but it is early. There is still so much snow up in our local mountains, that it's taking more time to get enough cleared so people can at least walk to a set up providing needed food and meds. and provide cans of gasoline to run their snow blowers. Neighbors have taken to sharing what they have plenty of in trade for things, they are short of. One church youth group arrived to help with shovels and snow- shoes! It looks like we will have more rain than snow out of the next storm front set to arrive on Friday! It is warmer air driving it. It will melt a lot of snow at lower altitudes which will mean more flooding and more mud slides. I am just pottering about here doing small maintenance jobs. I cleared a whole lot of old magazines and catalogues out to be recycled. It is all last years, which I saved in case the power went out again. I am not up to reading about places I cannot go to yet. Still too many problems with the airlines. I will stick to UK and US murder mysteries for now. | |

| Good morning one and all. It is sunny here again this morning but only 53f.
I braved the very big box store, Target, and finally got a replacement Toaster. Not much choice in any of the other places I tried. (Too big or too fancy).
2 of the 4 60watt bulbs in the light fixture in the bathroom are out thanks to the Electric company's little dance party, a few days ago. I have those replacements. I need to go to the DIY big box place for 2 100watt bulbs, for the kitchen now. I use soft white bulbs all round and have for years but it seems the younger generation like operating room, type lights. mine are not sold everywhere anymore.
Ian has taken a quick trip to Croatia for makeup and costume fittings and he will be gone for most of April recording a program there.
Is there something as too much snow? Our local mountains are still trying to dig out drifts of 16 feet, and 3 foot on roof tops before the roofs fall in. At least they have wood to burn to keep warm. One poor lady has missed 3 chemo appointments because of her road not being cleared yet. There is supposed to be more rain and snow later this week.
