No sleep again last night the wind was gusting, even at 45mph there is no 
obstruction to stop the wind and rain from hitting the back of my house, 
full on! 
Another branch fell on the street tree last night and it ripped off at the
heel where it comes out of the tree. 
I contacted the city web site to report it but they do not work week -ends
unless it's an emergency. Beside which, they are probably busy cutting up
trees that are blocking traffic. Ours is not an emergency and its only blocking 
one side of the street. 
Its looks dead inside. These poor trees have taken a beating in the seven-year- drought
we have. not enough ground water for the roots. Even with the sprinklers its
not enough as it only goes so deep. 
Even this amount of rain will not make up for all the deficit before the storm. 

We have a 12ft wide rollaway blind on the French windows in that room and
I could not get wound up enough to stop it rattling most of the night.
If I could hear it so could my neighbors,It stopped about 2:30am when
the tail end of the storm passed over. 
Even LAX had a ground stop on all aircraft at one point as Thunder and lightning
was on their radar out at sea. 

It's the migration of the whales back to the Northwest and Alaska now.
no whale watching boats allowed, but Drones are capturing them for us.

There are more dark clouds coming over the hill so that means more rain
this afternoon. 

The rain gutters are cracked in places from all the weight of the amount of rain,
so water falls where there are not meant to be any!
Cannot do anything about it   
Another job on the list. 

I do hope that Vicky is recovering from her stay in hospital, we do miss her.
If myself and Carole promise to behave, will she come back do you think? 
Or are we still in purgatory for the rest of our days.

Good morning all from Atherstone a bit of grey morning here
That's not the picture we have when we think of the west coast
Having a go at putting up the eight big lounge curtains
First the kitchen is open kettles on

All the way there, all the way back and I need to make another appointment!

We had a squall with heavy rain, and I opted to do it another day.
Weatherman and officials are telling us not to travel unless it's an emergency! 
Even the windscreen wipers could not keep up with the amount of rain. 
The grapevine is closed again because of the storm and many hillside roads
are blocked with snow! 
Lake Arrowhead ( a mountain ski resort) is snowed under by a blizzard. 
We could get anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of rain and the mountains could get
5-6 feet of snow in just today!  


My route to the DMV is on a regular road with only two lanes either way. 
and off the main roads.  but still some big puddles at the junctions 
and flooding in some slow lanes. 

I need a form saying my eyesight is good enough to drive.
I called in September (it cannot be over 6 months old) and the first
appointment they could give me was February 1st. 
My license runs out on Jan 30th!  so needed to go and get an extension!
Got that but it is only good until March 21st!  
this appointment would have been great if not for the storm, (another squall 
is coming through)
So now fingers crossed I can reschedule before the 21st or I will have to get another
extension!   

my gutters need cleaning out as they are overflowing at the moment! 
I had better go and check the French doors in Peters office as the do tend to leak 
down at the bottom in the track.
Fingers crossed the electric does not go out again.

I hope things go well today in the journey in or the test ,
Tiered out with a full day after a early start with Emmett

Hello from a dreary left coast.
It's snowing at the higher elevations with ice, 
and the wind is picking up.
there has been odd showers of sleet and hail, 
in some places, but we are supposed to get
only rain locally. It could be in the 2-4 " range.

Not a day to be taking a vision driving test,
but that's what i am down for!
I will show up at the DMV center but will 
explain that we are told to stay home unless
it's an emergency! 
This can be scheduled for another day. 
I would NEVER EVER drive anywhere today,
with the weather the way it is. 
The DMV center is within the city boundaries,
should be able to make that easily. 
It's the rest of the driving test which are on city streets, 
and a freeway that if we get a gully- washer, I might, 
have the test cancelled anyway to come back another time.
I am a careful driver not a daft old lady! 
I learned to drive (Peter) in the dark and rainy season,
originally with the two kids in the back seat.
I don't see how coping with fallen trees and cars going,
out of control makes me a better driver!
Being aware of your situation goes on in the brain not,
just your eyes! 
 The DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) has practice tests
online with most of the most common questions that you would get
on a written test so you can practice for days before hand.
I do not get a written test every time I renew my license. 
We also have a US version of the Highway Code as well. 
there are 30 questions on a normal test but I only need to answer
 half that and can only fail 3 questions and still pass that part
of the exam. 
It's a multi answer test, pick A B or C . 
What gets me is that the written test come in many languages BUT
ALL the traffic signs are in English!!!!!
Work that one out!

Good morning all from a still dark Atherstone as it's up early as a Emmett day ,
One of our other grandsons Daniel passed his theory driving test yesterday something I think I would struggle to pass it with out a lot of study work ,with some of the new signage on motorway
And more down south in the big city than up here in the sticks
Kitchen is open and kettles on

People do that here too when on holiday! 

I emailed the city about my big tree branch blocking half
the road here, and I must have been the last on the list as
they showed up last night around 9pm! 
It was all done and dusted in an hour!  
not a leaf was left behind. 
they even trimmed off another smaller limb that was cracked,
but still attached to the tree. 
We had a little drizzle very early this morning, but the main act will be
later this evening.

 There is a housing development that was completed,
just before we got here, out in the northwest corner of the San Fernando
Valley called Porter Ranch!  
No relation! Can you imagine writing to the Porters of Porter Ranch! 

They had snowflakes this morning but it's not settling. 
We decided the commute to work would be too long each day so we looked
closer. 
 Torrance was an easier commute of just over half an hour.
It was an older development done between 1947 and late 50s.
It is all tree lined streets. The schools are good compared to the LA school
district schools. Many of the houses have been altered in some way but
it still retains the charm of a cozy neighborhood. 
I went out yesterday evening to stock up on needed items such as wet cat food
and staples like soup. I have a gas stove which I can light with a match if I have to.
There were at least 3 electric company vehicles with ladders extended up different
poles.  We do get a recorded message saying sorry when it's working again,
so if there are any local outages still, they give you a number to call and they will
come out again. 
Our record amount of rain was in 1998 at 1,83"   but our record high was 92F in 2016.
on this date. average rain would be 0.17" and average high would be 67Fon this date.
its 48F right now. 
I have the Vision driving test tomorrow morning and no clue what the weather will be like.
I guess if I just show up they will think I am a tough old bird anyway!

It's Leading Players day I'm taking some masks in and hope to make some more them maybe some improvisation sketches but also to keep everyone with something to do some colouring in .

Hi ,the one of the places we went to last year (may of been Exmouth) they had a internet camera on the pier looking down to the fresh fish
Shack and bit of beach ,you could let your friends know a time and day you could they could log in and you could wave at them ,and you would see people there waving at the pier
They will be back

It seems that Ian has access to public cameras in certain spots in our beach cities
so you can see what  the weather is like from anywhere in the world.

He also learned  that our fire department and city crew are busy cutting up
a huge Ficus tree that fell down across the entrance to one of our hospitals trauma
entrances. Thats going to take most of the day!
We know that there are trees down in Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beaches. 
And flights from LAX were cancelled either because of weather here or where they
are going.  
The worse storm we ever had was giant waves throwing boulders from the breakwaters
over the walls into the parking areas and through some of the plate glass windows
of the hotel and restaurants that look out over the Marinas in Redondo. 
It's been burned down once and rebuilt! 

Its horseshoe shaped,  (kind of) it has three sides and one fishing pier. 
Tonys on the pier is an institution of a restaurant serving freshest fish
you ever tasted.so is Captain Kidds!  It has a fish market as well.  
Torrance beach front is too small for a pier so we kind of share our neighbors. 
It's bad weather reaching all over the United States today. 
 It's heading Caroles way. She, is like us situated not far from the coast so they
tend to get milder weather like we do.

Melanie and Jim are hunkered down for snow. Usually. they are below the snow line
where they are, they stocked up yesterday, I am going today. 
There has been a rock slide at Yosemite National Park blocking some trails. 
Hope there was no one caught above them or its time for rescue helicopters! 
Its too rugged otherwise. 

 I wish that Vicky could come back on here, I know Carole misses her, so do I.
I bet you do as well Bond. Its not the same without her. 

Did not get much sleep last night as gale-force winds came through here!
Power went out around midnight, but it was back on when I woke up.
(Whenever that was) 
Found that the city tree in the easement in front of my house has lost one of its branches.
These trees are trimmed to keep the branches above the height of the trucks using
the street, so look like candelabras. It's one of those branches that is in the road.
I expect the city is busy all over this morning. At least there was no car parked there!
 
If those trees between my property and next door had not been taken out It could
have been one of those branches across my cars!   Thank goodness for small mercies. 

It is still quite gusty now but not with as much force as last night.
I have three what look like old fashioned mine lamps but are battery operated,
so spent the night reading. 
Its 49f at the moment and the sun is out, but it is still early here. 
At least there was no rain with it. 
These street trees were planted when the houses were newly built so
nearly 60 years old! 
I wonder if I will get a new tree. They did replace the one on the other side,
a couple of decades ago when it fell over on someone's car. 

At present I have no flour in the house to make pancakes with, 
it would have been an omelet! 
They say that God never gives you more than you can handle but
wish he did not trust me quite so much!

Good morning all, it was a very violent game yesterday with some bruised and battered bodies this morning ,one photo shows one of the men with a eye like a purple golf ball
One of the boarded shop fronts went a step further with a mural on it of the game and the stars that has thrown the ball out over the years

there was also a Pancake flipping race elsewhere held between one town
in the UK and a town in the US.

Evening all, been out in the car today not the bus as usual, mainly because I couldn't carry four pairs of curtains 90 inch drop, five cussions,two cussion infills,£235 later back home for coffee and a doughnut,

Good morning from a sunny California and its 55f right now. 

Its Presidents day here in the US.
Its not like the two presidents shared a birthday but they were
so close together that it meant days off each time on individual days.
So what the heck! Lets put them together and do it on a Monday! 

Its Washingtons and  Lincolns day. Two revered presidents in this country.
Its not a full blown holiday, like 4th of July, schools are out 
and Federal offices will probably be closed ,which means no post! 
The rubbish pick up will be a day later this week. 

It looks like another cold storm front is heading our way from the north tomorrow.
Bringing up to 7 inches of rain and 2 feet of snow in some areas. 
Lots of talk about are we out of the drought yet. No, the reservoirs above ground 
are higher than they have been, but we get 60% of our water supply from underground 
water sources which takes longer to replenish.  so we are not out of the woods yet!
I won't be turning my sprinklers on just yet.

Tiger did not do as well as he expected but each time, he starts a round he is challenging
himself to see how fit he is. He is having to compensate for the weakness in that one
leg he almost lost.  the hardest part is having to walk between greens as electric carts 
are not allowed. 

A few days ago, someone shot at two Jewish men outside a Temple in an area known
for its Jewish population (mostly elderly) One got a grazing wound and the other was missed.
Yesterday someone shot and killed a Catholic auxiliary Bishop in his home. 
We have already had the Asian community attacked (but that shooter killed himself)
It seems that the racists are getting bolder. 

California is such a melting pot of nationalities and over 100 different languages are spoken
here in LA County and Los Angeles alone. 
Hope everyone is having a pleasant day. Mine is just starting.
Cat must be getting a bit demented as she has not eaten her fresh wet food yet.
As soon as I go in the kitchen, she will follow me and expect something else! 
I can give her some shredded chicken, while I have my breakfast.

Good morning,not another good night's sleep but the kitchen is now open and the kettles on

I do not doubt that for a minute Bond. 

I have met Vicky and David in the flesh. It was a
long time ago when we were on one of our trips to
the UK. 
We did meet Malc and Maria too just for lunch in Brighton. 
Not been to Connecticut but spoken with Carole
once or twice on FB messenger. 

It's hard to stay neutral in a situation like this.
I want them both to be friends again. 
But maybe feelings are still running a bit too high
at present with the people we know. 

Thats why I am glad I did not have internet or phones
growing up as I watched my daughter having arguments with
her then boyfriend until past midnight!
The phone was on a long cord from the hall so I would have
to get out of bed to go and unplug it! 
I ended up taking it to bed with me every night! 
You would have thought she was being thrashed! 
You have never seen tantrums like it!  

Peter and I lived by the saying "Never go to bed angry"
The good word is "communicate" when you both are calm. 
No name calliing or swear words and no "You said or did this
so its your fault". Blame does not get you anywhere. 
It is a misunderstanding that unfortunately, has happened
on both sides when the same situation occurred before. 
May golden slumbers kiss your eyes and you awake refreshed.
As for me? I am going to have a full glass of red wine!

Hi ,yes I feel a little lost ,I keep popping in to see if any changes,
Hair cut this afternoon but no bottle greens

Watching a couple of premier games of footy on TV. 

Our spring arrives with the bloom of the desert flowers, 
No Crocuses or Daffodils here! 
What I dread is the bloom and pollen on the trees,
and the same on the Indian Hawthorne bushes. 

It seems I am also allergic to any kind of perfume. 
I have to use non perfume laundry products or those
with only a lemon scent. 
It feels like they like super flowery scents here.
No subtle wafting as you walk by. It assaults your
nose!   It does not make me sneeze but I get a funny taste
in my mouth that makes me feel sick.
I always carry strong peppermints just in case. 

I also got that when I got my Covid vaccination but just for a
short while. 
Sun is also out here but its early yet so only 54f at present.

It looks like our two combatants are still in neutral corners, 
this morning.
What is the expression?
Handbags ready at ten paces? 
Been watching Tiger Woods play golf, and is doing better than 
'expected on his busted leg and ankle.  
It's for the same sponsor that provided the car he crashed in
 two years ago.  (But at a different course) 
The whole crowd is behind him. 
He had a bet with his playing partner about who could drive a ball
the longest and he won so gave his partner a womans tampon to
indicate he played like a girl! It was not done as anything but a silly
joke between two men playing golf. 
It caused an uproar here!   I commented that it beats being given a pair
of ladies panties like the old days! 
Tiger said he was sorry to everyone and I hope we are now past it. 
We should be able to laugh at ourselves, Lord knows we have not had much
to laugh at lately.   A good laugh releases the feel -good endorphins in our brains.
I do a quick U tube search every morning for people and animals doing funny things.
Its a good way to start a day cheerfully.

I wonder what the day will bring

Sorry to leave you on your own but Ian and i needed to form a plan to boost
my finances a little to take in the inflation level we now have.
Peter set the level at a very conservative income, but he never saw Covid coming,
or the effects it would have on my domestic spending each month. 

My tax man Brian can give us the name of a tax consultant who can give us
both an overview of the investments and how to make them a little more productive.
its been 7 years and we were supposed to do this when Covid hit, so we have been letting it
ride. 
I have also had both children needing money for important things this last year.
Ian to help pay off his mortgage and Melanie for her replacing her wooden deck. 
My last electric bill was $500 and natural gas won't be far behind.
Petrol prices are set to rise again and we are already the most expensive
in America. 
The people moving out of our state are those that cannot afford the increase in
monthly rent or mortgage payments. 
Half a million is not a great sum here. LA county alone has 10 million people living in it.

It's mostly cloudy today and 62f at present. No rain though. I just caught
the ends of a couple of premier games on TV and will be carrying on with the spring cleaning
here. I need more boxes. 
  
Better take care of disinfecting after Emmet has been as they are germ factories at that age. 
Ask any teacher!   

All this will blow over like it usually does. 
All over a misunderstood message!

but it left on time without him. Everything is timed to the minute but he thought they would
wait for him! That is a typical show biz trick to be the center of attention.

Good morning all from Atherstone it's a bit grey over Bills mother's this morning,
Well I slept the sleeping of the dead last night not even waking up for a pee ,
I haven't slept well the last few nights with playing over and over what went on on here playing it over and over in my mind but yesterday after keeping Emmett occupied in the morning and going a good walk in the afternoon I must of been able to clear my head a bit .
I think it's a bus ride out later and may be cut the grass yes cut the grass,
Breakfast and toast and marmalade, kettles on

Good evening all well you Marg,
It's been a good day but Emmett has been full of cold running eyes and nose the lot ,he hadn't got his usual bounce but a good boy ,
Time for bed

I sometimes stop and think about all the blessings I have in life that
others wish they had. 
The latest is New Zealand that has had a cyclone go through their
north island and left them without power and no means of communication 
as all the cell towers are down.  
there is still the war between Ukraine and Russia going on and the dreadful
earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. 

Here we are going through a string of high -speed chases by LAPD ending up in
innocent people being killed. 
No one pulls over for the police here, they just try to outrun them, usually
because they have some kind of record. 
One went through a red light at 100 MPH and tee- boned a car with a college
student in it last night.  
This morning, one major freeway is closed because a car tangled with a big rig.
No one is getting to work on time this morning and one more is not going home ever
again. 

I am so lucky in so many ways and its thanks to Peter for preparing for when he was gone. 
his files are a mess but I am sure I will find everything eventually! 

I feel so disloyal to his memory for having to donate so many of his collections.
(Like his David Winter cottages.) One can only stand so many Tudor cottages! 
There are lots of items he brought back when his father died that he did not know 
what else to do with.  
A few are family things and no grandchildren to hand them down to. 
Some should be in a museum. like Pops POW memorabilia. 
Going to sort out cats Vet records and shred Jaggers. 
It can be heartbreaking work, but it has to be done.

Lets call it brow beating Vicky according to the way you word
things sometimes. 
Carole tends to over think comments sometimes.
The English language can be tricky if not worded right. 

We are in a constant state of stress all the time which may make us 
overreact. Who wouldn't after two years of having our lives highjacked 
by a virus.  
Add personal problems and it makes a toxic cocktail. 
I do not want to fight with anyone but that means putting old arguments 
behind us for good. 

My husband and I learned that there were certain things that caused 
rows between us from bringing up the past. We kept on topic 
when we discussed anything from then on. 
Using lots of " I feel so and so when you say so and so".
Or " I hear this when you say certain things this way".
It certainly quietened things down here. 
Its called "communication."

So what have I done besides nothing?
Looks like I've got to learn the off side rule

I was saying when Britany or David come to see you you say they came to see you not they've spoken to you now when Rob came to see me you said "He spoke to me yesterday"  not that he'd come to see me, by the sound of it it seems he picked the phone up.    

Of course you've bought me Christmas and birthday, as I have you, I was only answering Margaret with her saying I had a grudge, I was just explaining if I had I wouldn't have bought you the Talc I knew you loved..    

I hope one day you realise how stupid this has got.

Carole will have a L&L.  Don't worry you'll be able to write to her & Margaret on FB.

I'll just go on the footy site......and PM Graham.

I thought I was out spoken.........no chips on my shoulder, ad when I come on here after being ill I always tell you......if it's serious I told you all David went into hospital and yet I'm secretive.

Oh and Margaret I started cut and pasting many years ago when I was on a football chat site and a young lad Called Sky Blue Sam was being bullied,  they would wait until the page changed, it wasn't like this chat site, and then they'd say he'd posted so and so, he post he hadn't so I started cut and pasting in my Word and when they post he had posted something about a player and he'd say he hadn't I would stick up for him and if they continued I'd post the page and post "Find it"  they then started have a go at other things and I'd post  "Stop picking on him"  finally he posted "Ok you lot win.....and Vicky be carefully it'll be your turn now"   and they did,  and they were vile, so I left  Though they all said every chat site I went on they'd hound me until I left.   later I went on another chat site and a girl call Samantha was being picked on,  I told her on a PM not to answer them,  but she did what I had done on the football site, keep answering them,   so I would stick up for her, by then I'd grown a back bone and couldn't careless  if they had a go at me.......but they didn't, and when someone from the old football site came on and started saying things about me these guys stood up for me......I was amazed,  by then Samantha had left, but we still email each other.     So much for being a bully Margaret........I've always stood you for people being bullied,  I hate bullies..

if I had a grudge  I wouldn't have sent Carole a 80th birthday present.   A couple of years ago Carole phoned here and David told her I was in hospital, nothing serious and I'd be home by the weekend,  that wasn't good enough for Carole she had to phone the hospital TWICE,  she came on here and told you she'd phoned the hospital.

Your view of Carole  isn't mine or my kids.......I think you've had the wool firmly pulled over your eyes,  she goes on about Graham not posting on the site only speaking to me, the reason Margaret was when on here he had to take his wife for a check up, she asked him why and she kept asking him why, over and over again,  I told her, on this site, to stop asking him he doesn't want to tell us, but she wouldn't,  she even asked his wife on Facebook, when she didn't answer she asked their friend Shelia all 3 blocked her......that's the reason Graham stopped coming on here.

Oh and btw when Carole's Grandkids go to see her she says Britany, David have been to see her.......when I came out of hospital in August Carole said Rob spoke to me.....not Rob came to see me, now I wonder why?

Good morning all from a damp Atherstone I don't think it's raining just damp and wet looking,
It's leading Players day a bit of a unknown today
Still talking about what are we going to do

Good evening Marg ,yes it's a worry at our time of
Life or illness for us and the people around us
The people we were with yesterday have gone through some rough times health wise that's why they are over here they want to get out and do something each week,they live on the coast and hope to get along it each weekend maybe staying over night odd time but mostly out and back in the day ,I do feel sometimes that I've lost a day when I don't do something,I can't wait for the weather to get a little better so I can get out again walking

Storm went through here last night with high winds and ice and snow on the
mountain pass we call the Grapevine. 
It was closed all night but no sign locally except some wind gusts, its 49f 
at the moment here. Plenty more snow in the mountains though. 
The sun is shining but in the shade you need a light coat or jumper. 

Debating if I should turn the sprinklers back on. We were expecting more rain, 
but it never came. It's only the timer, then it should water at the time it was set to. 

Melanie has to have another down the throat scope to see if it is just scar tissue
interfering with her digestion or something more serious.
Her full checkup this year was the best one she has had so far.
Everything else is clean of any new inflammation or scar tissue further down the 
digestive tract. 
It's not anything to do with her medications, thank goodness . 
there are a team of specialists looking after her, so every aspect of her care is looked 
at every three months.  
It seems she is a guinea pig like her Dad was for his new medication for MS. 
First in the open trial to be given this new formula. It certainly lengthened Peters life.
It did not cure it but kept the flare ups to a minimum.
The same seems to be happening with Melanies treatment. 
Both were very expensive treatments but with certain discounts it was covered 
under the Medical insurance. 
(I would be in the poor house by now if it wasn't,) 
Melanie is going to be 61 on the third of March. 

A birthday I never thought would ever happen. 
The first episode nearly killed her, she needed 8-9 blood transfusions and came out after
30 days weighing 73 lbs! That was 1981. 
At the 10 day mark the specialist told me to be ready for her to not make it. 
By the will of God,she is still with us. 
That record stood until Peter was hospitalized in 2011!  (4 months and 12 transfusions)
 He came out weighing 130lbs! The Porter Genes must be made of iron! 
I feel a wimp if I even get a stiff back! 

I do hope that Vicky gets over her medical issues and is restored to good health.
I know I can be outspoken sometimes but it's better than carrying a grudge.
or a chip on my shoulder.
Its healthier to say what's bothering me and let it go. 
In this family we have always encouraged openness about feelings even if they
are fact based or not.  
Ian and I knock heads all the time, but we always end up still loving each other.

Yes we have been over to their place a couple of times they are in northern Ireland a beautiful place called Betties Town I don't know how you spell it but that's how you say it ,they used to have horse
Racing on the beach, things are a little different over there their mother is 100 and on her 100th birthday she had a lot of money off the government but no card from the queen
Right going to pick mrsb up from the baths

Hi we have been out to a valentine's cream tea
We were all going out for tea with our friends from Ireland it just happened to be valentine's Day
A lovely selection os tiny sandwiches pork pie olives and salad dressing, chocolate mousse, scones cam and clotted cream,small chocolate cupcakes, chocolate brownies,hand made chocolates in a little heart box
So chocolated out
I've but the chocolate cupcakes in the fridge

Every time Vicky gets sick, we go through the same old thing over and over again.
Eventually Vicky may die, and we won't know anything about it! 


I was taught not to correct other people about what they write on the internet. 
But I also know not to share intimate things on a public forum for all to see. 
I need to be true to myself so I share what maybe others might not. 

My Daughter and I having been through lots of training over the years learning about
what some peoples weaknesses are. 
My Love, you cannot bear to be wrong about anything. even if it means keeping a record
of ALL the things you have said or done over the years. 
It is a form of bullying. Trying to put others down so you can feel better than them is
a form of bullying.  
Destroying others self -worth is not my idea of a joke! 
It's just downright spiteful. 

Carole would do anything for anyone, she has such an open heart. 
She has had one of the worst year's emotionally, that anyone could have. 
She also has health issues of her own. 
She is also subject to being Gaslighted a lot. She only sees the good in people. 
She thinks everyone is like her, but they are not. 

We are all subject to stress of a kind not seen since WW II. 
It shows in the people who are acting out their frustrations,
to get attention one way or another.
(This does not include Vicky as we know hers was a real 
emergency) 

Another mass shooting yesterday at the University of Michigan,
three more dead and five seriously injured. 
No one can find a motive why and we will never know as he killed
himself.  He had no known ties to the University or the students. 


This is another Valentine's day without my husband to give me
roses and a card and take me out to lunch.  
I cannot buy cards for him either.  All the special days we celebrated 
are gone forever, but memories are like having roses in December.
I still do not feel whole without him. 
It's a challenge every day here but I still feel the love we had for
all those years.
