| Hi Margaret I'm not sure about Visas's I've looked it up and I've had "No unless you're staying for 6 months," then another advice says it all depends where about in America you're coming from, so I don't think you need a Visa but I'd check it up.
Carole check whether you can drink Cranberry juice while telling certain tablets because one of my tablets I can't drink Cranberry Juice......though another one I can't have Grapefruit and I used to love grapefruit. Fingers crossed for this afternoon.

| I don't know what going on with my electrics but the TV is on the blink now. Think my universal remote is in a war with the new cable remote about who is in charge.
Put new batteries in both last night and shut them down. I have pretty good news services on both my iPad and computer so not all is lost yet.
There are a few degrees difference between my spot and the official reading from the Torrance Airfield (Less than a mile away) so its 68f here and 83% humidity at the moment. Sun is out and haze is burning off very quickly. Air quality is in "Good" range but still some pollen from grasses and weeds. It is expected to top out at 78f.
Visability is 6 miles they are telling me. Lots of chat on FB yesterday, mainly me moaning about the state of air travel these days both on the ground and in the air. Most airports are at capacity as it is and no more room to add bigger planes and longer runways. LAX was built up from a small airfield since WW2 when it was known as Miners Field.
Its grown up and out but is hemmed in on one side by the Pacific and the other end by bigger and bigger developments like sports arenas both indoor and outdoor. The only thing left is to build a Supersonic airport out in Palmdale (Which is what the plan was in the 70s) its out in the middle of the desert near Edwards Airforce base. It has potential as it will soon have a high -speed rail line going that way on its way to Las Vegas. A commuter electric rail service could be built over the present freeway to bring Passengers to LAX which will soon have a dedicated line connecting up to the light rail system. Both San Francisco and San Diego airports are in the same position as LAX , No more room to expand any further. Both built near the ocean too. I think we are going through the aftereffects of being cut off from our families for so long so everyone is rushing to see Gran and Granpa before they are gone.
Are we going to need a visa to go from here to the UK? Or is it just to Europe in future? My Passport expires June 11th next year. I just want to be prepared. Not like so many Brits here leaving it until the last minute! They seem to be planning their trips first then checking their paperwork not the other way around! It's not easy when each state works a little differently.
Going to jump in a cool shower first then have breakfast. and straight out to find another bulb for the ceiling light in the kitchen before too many cranky people get on the road. TTFN XXX

Great photo Carole .
I've changed my photo it's now the Royal Opera House in London where Rob, Dawn and Laura went to watch the Ballet , The Nut Cracker, Rob was blown away with the scenery etc. They said he had to go again sometime, but so far nothing. year was 2017.

| Pushed one button to the right and it all disappeared! Never mind, it was not that important anyway. its 75f and humid again. Power is out up in part of the hill,2,288 people involved and Edison think It might be heat related! I would never have guessed. Good article in Wall Street Journal about what effect this sustained heat is doing to our body's and minds. It's kind of long but explains a lot. It can be quite damaging as far as Hydration and electrolytes are concerned. It can affect some functions we take for granted like passing urine. I have experienced this kind of heat before so know what to keep an eye on. It sems that 2006 was a very hot year as far as records go. Going to make an egg salad sandwich for lunch today. with a glass of Robinsons Lemon Barley. TTFN XXX | |

| and the blokes Carole? Which blokes do you know have gone pink Carole? Sorry pink shirts were here long before Barbie and they' weren't batting for the other side either......but anything else no. Have you heard that the Government are thinking of telling all builders of new houses they might have to have smaller windows. We're going back to taxing windows as they used to,.....we'll be bricking windows up next. | |

| 05:08:48 Morning Its gone back MUGGY again ,starting off today in the 70's and will be in the high 80's ,tomorrow it will be in the 90's but the weatherman is saying could get a severe storm passiing 'by later today Blaine has to take his car BACK again today as the garage changed one thing that was not it so has to try another what ever it is Spencer knows what they are talking about at least Have no idea how much its all going to cost by the time they find what ever is failing it in emissions I have not had a bladder infection in DONKEY"S YEARS but seem to think THAT is what I have as I cannot hold my water for long and when I GET the URGE I have to go .I HAVE TO GO otherwise it just FLOWS plus there is a slight pressure feeling when it starts So have to call my Dr today Blaine says he is taking his car himself with his bike on the back this morning and will ride around waiting on his car ,so I HOPE they fix it BEFORE 2pm when its saying these storms could hit He is so stupid as he could have left it over night ,but he said the mechanic would probably not start on it until later in the day and HE WANTED HIS CAR last night I know he has friends near where the garage is so I hope he is going there as its really not a day to be riding his bike STUBBURN is what its CALLED or CHILDISH is what I CALL IT Any way good morning ladies I will try to pop in later but I also have these workmen coming today to stain the deck , HOW FAST CAN THEY DO IT I shall be back I am to death right now _________________ Carole B [i]

| Everybody going pink Carole EVERYBODY????? yes little girls have always liked pink but not Everybody? Yes years ago Rowena and me took the girls Susan and Kelly to the play about Barbie and Ken.....it was in Birmingham, oh they loved it, loved Barbie but neither of the girls wanted a pink bedroom. Susan's mate Jessica had a pink bedroom, though she never had a Barbie doll ....Laura was purple, everything was purple. Over here we're having a backlash against Barbie .....we're having "She's a bad example to little girls , no body looks like that unless they've been under the knife" IT'S A DOLL FOR HEAVEN SAKE. I was always ever so good at remembering numbers, not so much phone numbers because only one person, Janice, parents had a phone but Car registration numbers I was really good at.......I remember phone number now but not so much others phone umbers because we've got them logged in and just press a number, so I'm not having to remember everyone's number so they've gone from my mind,. Apart from as I say If I have to tell Susan something I always have to write it down just in case it slips my mind, I haven't a clue what my mobile number is Margaret. | |

| Slept in it seems. Only just woke up and fed my cat and had a coffee. Got the new outside bug bulbs in place but found I had the wrong bulb for the kitchen light fixture. Threw out all the bright white light bulbs, as I am using only soft white ones now. I have always had problems remembering, phone numbers, I have to write them down or they are gone. I think it may stem from having adult anesthetic as a child. It can cause slight brain damage. Through missing arithmatic for several weeks due to a stint at a health farm and time spent in hospital for my eye operation, I never caught up on that subject. Panic and anxiety can keep the brain so busy that nothing, stays in the brain. It was not a problem when one only had a public phone. But moving here where everyone had their own phones was a problem for me. It took me a long time to memorize the license plates on the cars! I still have problems with my mobile phone # I have an app on it that tells me what it is so I can give the number to those who ask me for it. I do not use it enough to remember it. (I Mean, how many times do you call yourself!) Sunday night on the PBS (Public Broadcast System) (Like the BBC, no commercials) is the night that there are two or three British drama programs on back to back. The Miss Marple series has become one with allstar casts. So many familiar faces. Then its Grantchester at the moment. PBS is run on grants and donations from many groups and the general public. By signing up as a member gives you access to a web page which is called PBS Passport. You can view almost every program shown on PBS as well as films and documentaries. Their Ken Burns series about aspects of American culture and history are wonderful. I like "Finding Your Roots" By taking 2 or 3 people who we all know and tracing their ancestry is fascinating. Most had no idea where they came from or who they came from. With access to records in other countries can be hit or miss but they seem to be able to find other ways of collecting information. We are all immigrants here. I know you had "Who do you think you are" Following one person as a time. With the DNA tests these people can find what their ethnicity is originally. (Certain cross overs between White and Black is not that unusual.) Its 73f here at present and 77% humidity, Air quality is good but still traces of Pollen. Its still a bit hazy but the sun it trying to break through. Record high on this date was 102F (2006) Average high for this date would be 87F. It seems that 2006 was a hot year! They say that the high for today should be 75f but inland its still in the 90s. Two older men have died in Death Valley so far this year from heart attacks brought on by excess heat. (Its highest has been 128f so far) It's very dry heat in the desert, you don't know you are getting dehydrated as fast as you are. Big National Boy Scout Jamboree going on at present, (Girls are included now) One stand up comic here told the story of sending his son off to camp with 6 changes of underwear and picking him up after a week with 5 clean pair. When asked why he did not feel the need to change his underwear the kids replied "Well, We swam every day!" TTFN XXX | |

| Oh gosh two army helicopters with the twin routers went over around lunch time.....the noise, ever so low, thought they were going to land in the garden.
Oh love that photo of Sue and Benjie. 2015

| Gosh yes he does look like Gill Carole I hate change too, the banks here are closing down various banks so you have to do everything online, is having kittens at the moment with the rumour her bank is closing down and she can't do things on line, and yet she went 3 years at the Library learning Computers and her son says "What did they teach you if you can't do anything on your laptop,?" honest she's hopeless. I can see it Could you come round and do this for me. James does get mad at her "What the hell did you learn" but she was doing it for three years. I did ask her was she in a room alone but she wasn't she was with all the other learners. Bottas is only 33 Bond......and he's never won there. Carole I never thought I was interested in F! just goes to show something goes in. | |

| Good morning all from Atherstone,it's a bit quiet here as it's not 7:00 yet Vicky sorry it was a bit sort and sweet last night with the night night but I was in bed setting the alarm on the phone and noticed you had posted but didn't read only had time to wish you night night, I agree I used to cheer for him too when he was cutting through the pack and I'm glad he retired to enjoy life , I can see me and John saying how you said his name ,Vet tell or Wetle, There was some old drivers yesterday that can't retire I don't know if I miss heard but I thought they said Bottas won there 20 years ago ? | |

| I remember Alan coming and picking David, me and Steve up when Steve was 3 months' and we went to the lake district, that was in his Reliant Scimitar which had two seat at the front and a squashed up sort of seat in the back and then we had Steve in his carrycot.... and I changed Steve's nappy in the boot....I was very honoured, not a mark was allowed in his car. I've got a photo of Steve sitting in the back. When we told David's Mum she said "I wasn't allowed to put my shopping bag in the back, when he gave me a lift, had to have it on my knee" she said When you're worth $140m you can have your hair anyway you like and wear a beard, anyway he's a nice guy, not a hypocrite like Hamilton, who agrees with "Stop the oil" "Save the planet" and he does what? flies all over the world every week to drive F1, and has a garage full of cars .....hypocrite. Shirley and I used to cheer on Vettel. And anyway as I've said only married his childhood sweet heart in 2019 and got young children, it's nice that he's retired to be with his wife and family, only doing the odd guest appearance where cars are connected. Oh and BTW Bond Vettel is no 3 in 10 greatest ever FI campaigns, "Fellow German Sebastian Vettel equalled Schumacher's famous record back in 2013 when he romped home with the fourth of his four consecutive world championship titles. Winning 13 out of 19 races on the calendar that year in his Red Bull car, Vettel emulated his idol growing up before he himself moved to Ferrari for a stint with the Italian team. Amazingly when finishing a race in 2013, Vettel never finished below P4 | |

| Hi Marg that's nice thoughts about Peter and Carole that time has gone by so quickly I did have a go in a bright yellow MG Midget,on the Atherstone By-pass a nice flat piece of tarmac but it was still a bit of a bone shaker with your bum just off the road ,I thought my old Spitfire gave a better ride but not the speed,
