Afternoon.....waiting for the Asda man.

No Carole it's not because he was the only one on duty but he had a slot to speak to me. as for David and I holding hands, not much point because if I go to fall he lets go of my hand. he says because he doesn't want to pull my arm out of the socket, and so I might as well not hold his hand.

We're not having our jab yet, it would be our 7th......Bond but you might not get a letter, isn't it better to go rather than wait? specially as you go to so many places and mix with so many people. I'm hearing of so many I know who've got this new Covid, Rachael and Lee.....so Lee will not be able to go to his Dad's funeral, James and Sarah son and daughter in law of plus the 2 kids, Janice's son and daughter in law and their two children it's certainly spreading. But we only had our 6th Jab in June had her letter from her Doctor setting out where to go, she can just walk in also but she got an appointment, she didn't want to stand about.....it's better to have an appointment.

As to the email Carole no fear of me opening it, it stood out a male it wasn't from you but I've had some that look a lot nearer to your address but even then I checked whether it was your email address, always something that gives it away.

I'm off out.....somewhere, only to sit in the car and have rolls and a cuppa.

As to your Dr I would LET Susan have a GO AT HIM
where I go there are only a total of 5 DR's I have YET to see any of
the others as if MY Dr was not available I would normally see his PA
{Patient assistant} who is training under him to become a GP

It sounds like the UK is still doing what we used to when I was growing up
we had  DrMcNamara  Dr Laird and another whom I forget his name
so we would see whom ever was on duty
only time THAT was different was when I moved to Bolingbroke Rd
and signed on to Dr Blake's surgery for when I had Blaine and Spencer
he was the ONLY Dr there and probably what burnt him out as
he died while on holiday with his wife on a beach in Malta only in his 40's
he was one of the BEST Dr's I ever had

Always remember after having Blaine March 8th 1963 it was SO cold
as we had had snow as well  he came in to see me the day after and instead
of going to check on Blaine or me went over to the fireplace turned around
threw up his jacket to warm his BUM and yelled out to my MUM
"OK MOTHER throw the  on then "

Seems we broke a record again yesterday Bond hitting 80f ,no over here
is not like the we get a LOT more sun at times for LONGER
periods and its hotter because of our location ,but that was a reason Gil and I
liked Connecticut as it was MORE like back home than say California where
Marge is,us  having the three  distinct three seasons but the heat and rain we
have been getting on the East coast is FAR from NORMAL

I saw the other day that New York is SLOWLY SINKING and all the rain they got
last week showed what its going to be like "WORSE" in only a few years
Did you happen to see the airports on the news flooded both La Guardia  &
JFK
They also talk about ,IF a Volcano on the coast  of Africa ever blows it
will send a Tsunami across the Atlantic that would put New York and obviously
Connecticut ALL UNDER WATER because of how close we are to the shoreline

Ah well I shall be LONG GONE by THEN I would hope  

Last night I got my heating pad and laid on it and THANK goodness
my earache is GONE today ,have NO IDEA why I had it as it felt
like someone was STICKING A KNIFE into it a stabbing pain
Used to get earaches a few times growing up as I remember my Nan
warming olive oil and pouring it in and laying on a hot water bottle

So its up to my DR's office for 830 and get my flu shot

Another warm day but its ALL going to CHANGE by Friday

We have to give our trust into all of these professionals but sometimes I think are they putting the hours in
We see some of these hard working nurses sitting about chatting.
The prime minister keeps talking about spades in the ground I've never seen anyone with a spade it's actually a shovel,when you see men in high visibility jackets one working three watching

Well Carole I must have deleted most of them......I never clicked to see what you'd "supposed " to have sent.     So that 's fine.     And of course if I hadn't deleted this one then Carole I couldn't prove I did get strange emails saying they're from you. and as I said   I stay well clear and of course I knew it wasn't your email address do you think I'm stupid?

As to my changing Drs, well I don't fancy going to one in the town.........we have 7 Drs at our surgery,  and it was just my bad luck I got him, in 8 months I'll get a blood test and my Cholesterol will be fine and I'll ask to go back to 20mg.   and I'll tell them that's what I want.  

No hot chocolate for me Bond.......ask me again  in 8 months.

And Bond when I worked at C&A I never wore a jacket as we walked to the store after Lynne and I had parked our cars in one of the side roads. and we were still in our summer uniforms until the 27th October. Lynne's birthday So it was quite warm

As for why am I down,  my cholesterol is up, so says my Doc though Susan says my numbers aren't that bad 2.4  and so first my Statins have to be doubled to 40mg and I've got a list of all the things I can't eat though it's also saying grill instead of fry, I do grill and if it's mushroom's, onions, I always use either spray frylite, or vegetable oil.....reading down the list the part "to do" I'm saying "I do that"  "I do that" and the not to do I don't.    Oh I've to cut down my smoking   and only 2 glasses of wine a week......try and tell the little pip squeak I don't smoke and apart from on Christmas Day I have one small wine I don't drink.  I've to have no cakes or biscuits.   AND I've to try and get my weight down.....try to tell the idiot "I'm only 7st 12ib " we get "Well do your best"    how much does he want me to lose?

Well, the HVAC man cancelled twice now but says he will
be here this afternoon. If not, I will find someone else.

Ian is doing a long distance audition this morning,
so he won't be here until about 1pm.
Melanie needs to give herself a shot which makes
her drowsy for a few hours so I am on my own this morning.
So many small jobs done so far but a couple more need seeing to.
I am going to replace the microwave while Ian is still here.
and we need to work out why the cable box will not work right
as far as recording goes.
I am looking to replace the rollaway blind outside. It's too much for me
to handle anymore. I am looking at a static awning to shade the room
with the view.
Even with treated glass, the sun is so strong here that things inside that
room fade quite quickly. I just want some form of shading that means
I do not have to keep the curtains drawn.
It would also be a shame to cover them with blinds.

The sun travels from sunrise in the south east to sunset in the
north west across the whole back of my house the way its situated.
It does get very bright some days when there are no clouds.
Its 60f at the moment and sunny and it's expected to hit 73f around midday.
The record high for this date was 96f in 2014. Average temp for this date
is 76f so close to normal at last.

It seems that covid season is on its way again.
It's been a small rise in numbers here and gone down again. 
The employees are all wearing masks again and those who have a
preexisting condition.
If more of the public had had the Covid vaccination in the first place, we would
be closer to the pandemic ending by now.
Right now it looks like it will be with us for another year.
We can get it a second or third time even with vaccinations.
It is suggested here that people over a certain age get pneumonia shots as that
is the biggest danger with covid.

I have been getting mine every few years as suggested by my doctor.
I had walking pneumonia as the result of the flu one year.
I was a smoker back then. I have not smoked for 28 years now but still
live with asthma so do everything I can to look after myself.
I need a shingles shot also but I have to wait until I get beyond the
flu/covid shot recovery period. (About 30 days )

Doctor says my lungs are clear but still a bit twitchy.
My doctor also recommends a tetanus shot as well.
Thats every few years too.
That was while I was taking care of Peter so I would not
contaminate his Urostomy opening as I was changing it for him
every 4 days. It was not easy doing it with surgical gloves on so
hands must be sterile.

It is a worry for you I know.

All change as just after that post
I got the phone call don't bother the scaffolders
Are still coming but they don't want paying (my job ) untill the jobs done so stand down
So we went shopping not to waste a day
We really did go shopping,bath sheets and hand towels a couple of sets in blue
Plus's bit and bobs
I just walked into town and got a bit warm in the sun then the grey clouds came ove but missed us
So a brown loaf and a big bag of bird nuts
£5:99 I could have a couple of cream cakes on that but I do love ke watching the birds feeding
So almost tea at three plus other drinks are available

unless you water every day and I never do as that's
the only thing the landlord PAYS FOR so never want

It's ok Marge i know you have had a lot on your
plate of late
I really do not miss face book it was the messenger that
was handy being able to call or text free to my friends
& family
Tracie who I have my phone with and pay her monthly
just added the free calling through AT&T that our cell phones
are serviced with to the UK ,so I can call my sister for no charge
And calls to you are no charge any way

What your doing is a good idea as your alone there basically
where as I still have my boys here should anything happen to me

Good morning from the left coast.
I did forget that you were still not on FB
messenger, Carole. It just slipped my mind.
Too many things going on here.
The man to give us the estimate for the HVAC
is this due this afternoon between 2 and 4pm.


Its doing its best to warm up here so might be an
Indian summer by the end of the week.
We are still being told to be ready for an El Nino winter
storm pattern, lots of rain if true.
Going to try out grocery store delivery today now I
have the app on my iPad. It will end lugging bottles of water
and other canned or boxed items by myself.
I will still shop myself for fruit and veg.
Even the drug store will deliver and the PetSmart place.

Going to have a pow wow with the kids this morning about
getting an elder safety alert device.
Been holding off as long as I can, just need an emergency
contact person so they can step in when needed.
I think it's about time (not that I need it yet)
It's one of the things you need to think about if living alone.


I do not need a live-in carer. but someone to pop in
and check with me by phone or in person every day.
We knew this day would arrive and now is a good time
to set it all up.
They can them go home knowing that I have at hand
the help I might need.
I get my evaluation for cataract surgery on 27th.
I might be turned down as I have a complication
with low blood supply in a vessel in my good eye.
If it cannot be done, I will not be able to keep on driving.
At least it will give me time to decide how I am going to live
from then on.
My cataract is borderline at present, so no night driving allowed.
I can deal with that. I might be able to get a limited license to only if
drive in my local area. which would work as all my errands are very local.
Need to get some breakfast and take my pills. before both of the kids arrive.
Temp right now is 56f going to a high of 68f today and sunny.
Record temp for this date was 93f in 1999.

PS, Vicky, I got told the same thing, mild exercise is just moving and walking
each day. Just be sure to wear walking shoes and not dress shoes.
Trainers are the best footwear for walking outside locally.
I do some dancing to music at home on my own as well.
It helps the blood supply and muscle and joint stiffness.

I've been waiting to speak to the Dr about my Statin's  anyway that's sorted, sort of     .......I started to the reception  "Weeks ago I phoned about my yearly review and I got a Pharmacist,  well I'm sorry I wasn't that impressed"      You wasn't WHAT?"     "So I want to speak to a Dr please"     she said she'd got an appointment with Dr Baker, at 10-15am  "Fine"   I waited, and waited and finally he   11-00am.  Now usually the Dr's are spot on, so I think the receptionist was punishing me..... I happen to mention I'd spoken to the Pharmacist and I wasn't too happy with him ...   though I did hear a "Oh" and a catch of breath on a number of times  "Ah" I thought to myself "Not siding with him now Dr Baker"
Anyway the Dr said my Statin's are a bit high 2.4 so he would have put my Statins up and I'll have a blood test in 8 weeks time.     Remind self to stop eating cakes, for a time being

THOUGH my Dr said  "Start doing slight exercises  like running up and down the stars"   on my new carpet.....you can coco.   " I few press ups"   "And slight exercises like that"       You have noticed on my   notes I'm in my late 70's     Paramedic "What was she doing when she passed out" "Well she was just up to her 4th press up"   I daren't tell Sue she'd be on that phone and have a real  go at Dr Baker.        I think I'd better start going for a walk with  and David.

and that is why I now have to  my sister and you

I did open another account with a new password etc but for some reason
I can only find my daughter to befriend and when I log in to it all I
see is what I have posted myself and a lot of posts from people I do not know
so I just do not bother any more with Face book at all

Ummm have to call my GP as I THOUGHT I see him in Dec but do not
see it written down ,have to call any way to go get my flu shot as the receptionist
said when I called last month they would not have them in until this month

on the main highway into LA. All Lanes were closed.
She did get here a bit tired but is recovering today.

We are having a mental health break today so Melanie can
watch her 49ers game this afternoon.
The HVAC inspection is tomorrow between 2pm and 4pm,
it got postponed from Saturday due to a flat tire on the van.
Roof repair will be Oct 9th and 10th.
and include the flat roof on the room addition.
Hopefully you can deal with the hacked site and be back online

Not sure what's in the sandwich Carole,  it was Susan & Matt's lunch when they went to the Vineyard in Cornwall last year  on the plate there was also water cress, crisps and in a dish between them some chips.

So we are thinking she is using the mobility scooter instead of a car for local shopping
I forgot she also sings very very loudly but
Not that well,when she is Aldi shouts of shut the xzxwq following her where ever she scoots

  I'll have a good try eating some way out Bond.    Eh I had cornflakes for breakfast, now just who made that for me?        Oh and when I worked at C&A I never wore a jacket until Lynne's birthday 27th of this month her birthday, so it must have been hottish Bond,   here it's not that warm,  well I've got a jumper on and leggings.....I did wear my cool ankle boots with ....heels, glad I was only walking to the car though

Afternoon guys......yes we had a slight rain about 1pm but not much ...it started off sunny but after the rain it was just dull and that's what it is now.

Just been nattering to Sue, Matt's doing a bingo night at the village hall,  him and Terry { best mate} have been there putting up lights,  they're putting on food also as well as raffle tickets .....all money goes to charity, this money tonight goes to this little boys charity, he died of some sort of Cancer so they've all been thinking of  ways to raise money.

its starting out like a fine day here but some rain is
forecast for later.
Roofer coming on October 9th and 10th and though the
exhaust is a simple fix, the flat roof on the room addition,
is in worse shape than we thought so has to be redone.

The Heat and A/C company are coming this afternoon to give me
an estimate for that job. Which will be more involved.
There are still one or two items that need looking into like the
microwave which needs more testing.
The couple that Ian is staying with in their guest suite knows
a lot about Handyman stuff and he has recommended someone
who can take care of stuff for me.
lots of retired men who still take some jobs just to keep their hand in
like Bond did for a while.
He also knows an electrician!

Was feeling very down yesterday because Ian was getting very heavy handed
with me. Mainly its because he is, after so many years used to the way
things are done in the UK and when I tried to explain how things are normally
done here, he would get frustrated with me.
I think he realized that he had overstepped my authority and upset me.
We called a truce and went out for lunch at the Fish Bonz cafe which specializes
in fish dishes. I had Fish and Chips which came with 3 large pieces of tender fish
with a light batter and shoestring French fries, with a side of fresh cold slaw.
Not out of a jar or frozen. served with Malt vinegar.
Ian had a fish Taco type dish. It was a good way of getting away from the frustration
we were both feeling.
These things need to be done and have for the last few years but with the pandemic
and the crazy weather and my health problems I was waiting for the right time which
never appeared. Melanie will be here soon and will be staying for a few days after Ian has gone
back home.
His wife is upset that he is not there to deal with their fencing job which is not going as fast
as she would like. She is in the process of working on memorizing a script for a job she has.
which the workmen having cement mixer going and carrying water to and frow after breaking their
outside hose are bothering her.
Ian has finished cleaning out the rain gutters which was needed.
He has replaced all the covers on the under house air vents, no more
creatures going under there.
He has completed most of the list he came over with.
Still need to contact Morgan-Stanley about the switch over of the
Annuity. to keep it in house with them.

For some reason I never got a Medicare card which Peter got with his
when he got to 62 (his retirement date) He probably put it in a safe
place and forgot where it was. I should get a replacement one as some
urgent care places ask for them. I do have the card for my medical practice
so they can use that ID.
I do have my Social Security card and have had that for a long time.
Its time for breakfast here and it is starting to cloud over.
Having tea with honey this morning to calm down.
