| Well would you say that about Hamilton? But this time Hamilton won the qualifying round so he is first on the grid. And after all Bond the driver is only as good as his car. But hey Sebastian Vettel is worth $140m. and he's only 36 yrs. and only married his childhood sweet heart in 2019 it's not a job to be away from home so long
Oh David's brother Alan loved his MG's Margaret.....every 6 month he bought another new one.....he never had them longer than that, of course before he got married.

| While Ian was at Cal State Long Beach, he found an old MG Midget. Remember he is 6ft 2ins tall! At some point I had to go with him to sign him up and pay for a summer acting course lasting four weeks. He insisted we go in the MG. (with the top off) It was a 35 mile ride on the main freeway going through this state. I fell into the seat as I could not lower myself down that far. It was rather hairy looking around at big American cars going past as at my eye level I could only see the hubcaps! Don't get me wrong, Ian is a very good driver. But I guess my white knuckles were showing. He leaned over the me and said "Mum, the pedals are on my side"! He has a Japanese car for everyday use (when not taking the train or tube) He has had a MX Miata for years that is his baby.
He was born within the sounds of the Astin Martin factory in Newport Pagnell. They used to test them down the country lanes and later onto the M1. Someone gave him an old dinky car which became a permanent fixture in his hand for most of his first year. I still have the Hot Wheels stacking box and the Tire shaped box here . I think I even have the Hot Wheels lunchbox which was what every child took to school each day then. The Pele box is worth money these days. There is a Snoopy dog house shaped one and a Dr Zeus one. Now its all thermos bags and boxes.
Its been 7 and a half years since Peters been gone but he lives on in me every day. I feel his love still within me. That will never go away.
It's very overcast this morning and only 68f so far. It will be a few degrees cooler today locally.
Missy is once more squeezing me off my chair this morning. Being very careful about keeping the kitchen clean in this heat Only had one fly get in so far. (Not that we get a lot anyway) Every house here has fly screens on every window. I also have a flyscreen door on the backdoor.
We are advised to rinse all cans and jars before putting them in the recycle bin. It cuts down on the smell and fly attraction. Regular household trash is bagged in special bags that degrade once at the dump. (New formula.) My own special choice. They are from Bed,Bath and Beyond which is now out of business but I bought a years supply. I buy individual cans of cat food, so I "Borrow" any empty carboard cartons to put them in off the shelves so they do not need to give me a plastic bag. It stops them rolling around.
Time for breakfast here and see whats on today on TV. Last day of Tour de France , Both Yates brothers did well, in the top 5 finishers. Pidcock finished 4th in the White Jersey race ( Young riders), this is only his second year so we will see more of him. there are several classifications within the race itself. Then there is the Womens World Cup so better get cracking. TTFN XXX

| Oh gosh Carole I would never have guessed that. Awww. We would have done Bond but I expect they just get in and out....it was pretty hard getting in and out of a Lotus Elise....well no getting in wasn't too bad but getting out Rob had to push me out. and you're sitting on the floor almost, but then him and The Witch were nimble. Nice car the Lotus Elise was, but when The Witch got pregnant it had to go, couldn't put a babies car seat in that. | |

| Yes I remember those cases Bond but no my boys didn't have one either.
We used to get lizard's in Fuerteventura also, I remember one being in our room, on the wall once.
Toys are meant to be played with Margaret, The boys had Tonker toys.....such well made toys.
I had a Teddy from when I was 5 yrs old, which my Mum gave to me, but my Gran said "You can't take that with you now you're getting married" and she threw it in the bin, I loved that Teddy. Wish I'd stood up to her, but never did, neither did my Mum.
The boys had racing pedal cars and Susan had a pedal car one Christmas......we've still got the photos.
Aren't you seeing the Bugatti Bond?

| Ian has a set of Hot wheels that our next -door neighbor in the town houses used to bring home from the test runs on the manufacturing lines before they were in the shops. He worked at Matels which is not that far away from us. Ian had the tracks and storage boxes but not worth a lot because they were played with. I still pick up one or two now and again. I like the muscle car line. I was going to make an Xmas tree of them. Ian did have an original Batmobile but buried in the sand at the beach! He has two James Bond cars, one silver and one gold. He also has an F1 green bean racing set with a car carrier from the days of Jackie Stewart. We actually found a pedal car the same kind. British Racing green. I think they are all stashed in what was Melanies built in wardrobe. (Not the pedal car though) His big toys like a ridable fuel tanker was given to the childrens ward at the local hospital before we left for St, Louis. Along with his Tonker toy jeeps and bulldozer. Those were made of metal. They were no longer played with anyway. With Melanie , she loved games and puzzles which did not take up so much space. A few barbie dolls and a suitcase of doll clothes was all she needed. Her one passion was the Panda that Peters parents had given her. He rode in the car with her. Never out of her sight. She still has it today! I still have the Teddy bear that Peter gave me at 16 years old on my first trip to meet his parents! He is a real old fashioned teddy filled with wood shavings. British to the core! I took photos of a lot of things that would remind me of the place we were at. In Orpington (Just south of London there was a Victorian house and Drs Surgery) which had a large Brass plaque stating that his name was Bindon Blood MD! I kid you not! Its like when we saw a baby doctor when Ian was ill not long after we got here. It was an emergency on a Sunday and he was on call. His last name was Fawnskin! I still stumble on his name even today! There is a small village up in the mountains called that as well. We think it was a native American tribal name. TTFN XXX | |

| Its thick something here this morning, cannot decide if its sea mist, fog or low clouds. It does show how much moisture is in the air though. Ian, being his usual helpful self, messaged me about contacting one oof his friends to come and look the outlet. I think it's time for a real electrician. These guys are not that!!
Going to talk to Cindy as she just had a major overhaul of the kitchen over there and the main bathroom redone. Most of my house is still on the original wiring.
I am sure I have a lizard under my house. I think it might be one that was here before a couple of years ago. I did see a baby one last week. I hear scratching noises under the house, and I know its not mice or rats. the holes in the foundation air vents are not big enough for anything else. It's not a big one, We call them alligator lizards as that it what they look like, miniature alligators. Not easy to spot.
We do not have a lot of flowering trees in this town but the' Jacaranda trees are in full bloom at the moment. They look great but are really messy when the blooms fall off. They stick to everything! The blooms look neon purple/blue. They seem to glow.
Watched both the England and US Womens World Cup games so they made a decent start. (The England one started at 2:30AM here!) Nigeria should be had up for GBH!
It's those lithium batteries that are the problem not just in cars, but iPads and laptops and cameras. now its E scooters. Everyone wants longer lasting power per charge. but they can and do overheat. At least with cameras, you can take them out. My old 35 mil camera took 4 regular AA batteries and was replaced by a 4 pack of lithium ones. It was great not having to change batteries on a long day of taking photos. I always had to carry spares otherwise. I always seem to get a "low Battery" signal at the worst time. Digital was much better than film rolls. Not having to wait to see what you thought you took a photo of until it was developed. Peter got very competitive with me as some of my photos came back with "Well Done" paper frames round them!
The weird thing is, we both took the same photography classes for 6 weeks at the adult education center. We would go on field trips like the Zoo and let the teacher tell us what makes a good shot. Some were almost professional! I remember doing a series of shots at a local dog show. (My Idea) And getting up at dawn to get surfers surfing on the higher than normal waves. The local newspaper photographer was standing next to me! His were on the front page! I had a whacking great 200 mil lens in those days so could get closups of a lot of stuff. Its all gone now. I have a normal digital camera now. If I can hold it still enough, I can get good shots on my iPad!
It's time for breakfast here, Tabbitha has had hers and she is once more pushing me off my office style chair at the computer! TTFN XXXX

| You said it Bond David and Benjie just got in this morning before it came down, and they'll not be until about 6pm ....he really is good four legs crossed before they go out at night , Yes Bond that's a really good book, when the little boy looks at his Mummy and says "Mummy" as that idiot friend of his Mum pushes him over the cliff, and the next bit they're all in Church ar a funeral and you think "Awww sob sob he died" then the Mum and the little boy comes in on crutches, and it's not his funeral,, seems when the little boy {I'm giving the game away but I doubt either Carole or Margaret will read that book} when the little boy kept following these teenage twins wanting to join the gang, they told him if he wanted to join their gang he had to jump across this gorge ....so the took him to the narrowest part and we don't know this at the time but he tried to jump it, just missed but as he started to fall grabbed hold of a tree root, so when the nutty woman took him nearer and nearer to the edge he realised there's a tree right near the edge so hoped a root would be sticking out....and as he fell there was. so he grabbed the root. But those words "As he started to fall he called "Mummy" had me and then the funeral, which wasn't his funeral after all. had me with relief. Another photo from Goodwood | |

| I'm back.....yes everything fine, though a bit odd it wasn't the nurse but a pharmacist ...very odd, but I'm fine though I still have to collect a blood form.
Back later.....oh Will met the Queen and Princess Margaret when they were building a Church and School in Cyprus, he was in the Army, oh he didn't have much truck with Margaret, it got back to the men the guy who was asked to take care of Princess Margaret while the big wigs were looking after the Queen, seems he did take care her "On the snooker table" and the Colour Sargent walked in on them, the guys excuse was "When she makes it clear what she wants you can't really say no....Sir" though Will said Margaret had to wear shoes with small heels seems the Queen never liked her sister to be taller than her.

| Eons ago when Peter was still a student at Cranfield HRH Price Philip flew up from London to see what the new growth of Aeronautical engineering students were doing as to the future of things that fly. Peter's thesis was the difference between Mach 2 and mach 3 designs as seen in the future. It was assigned to him, not his choice. The college photographer was so intent of getting a photo of His Highness as he is looking at Peters exhibit (Its a lovely photo) but only got a full head shot of the back of Peters head! Never mind, my favorite shot of Peter is him in his flying gear standing in front of the Lincoln Bomber. It was taken during his time as a College Research Fellow. He already had his college degree then. Men like toys that are fast and BIG! A retiree from Northrop was working as a docent at the Western Museum of Flight, we next bumped into him doing the same job on a WWII Liberty ship in the Harbor. When asked why he swapped jobs, his reply was "Bigger Toys!" I swear these guys never grow up! I am the lucky one as far as weather is concerned. The temps in this tiny coastal stretch of land is not yet too hot for humans. Average high for this date would be 86f and so far, its not gone higher than 79F. The most heat comes from the sun just before it sets here. I finally found the insect repellant light bulbs I was looking for. Popped into PetSmart for fresh grass and more of the wet cat food Miss Tabbitha is eating at present. I still have a can of Spam in reserve and a small roasted chicken. Did two weeks worth of grocery shopping at my local market. I was shattered by the time I got home. I still had to put it all away! I never let myself totally run out of anything if I can help it. It seems the last time the tree trimmers from the City, who come round to trim trees out of the overhead lines, messed up. .My poor tree now needs a a short back and sides to make it look nice again (It will be on my $$$$ this time) These people are not arborists, they are city workers who love cutting things up. Let them loose with a chain saw and a chipper and they are in heaven. One branch came down on my chainlink fence and pulled the top where it is wired to the frame, off completely on about 6 feet of my fence. It took out my string of solar fairy lights along the top of the whole fence. You know what my chances are of getting them back to repair it.....NIL! So another trip to the neighborhood ACE DIY store today. Not going to walk miles inside the hanger size place again today. These Ace stores stock things that the local area people need to do DIY on their houses. Just Basic stuff. They have a Parrot who sits behind the counter at the back of the store. In the middle of the day, he vocalizes, (He screeches) He might say Hello if he feels like it. This branch is staffed by retired crafts people who know their stuff. It's a throwback to what Ironmongers of old would have looked like. I know I can get the small items I need from there. Tried the cursed outlet again and it not working now. (Won't touch that with a ten foot pole! Its an electrician I need. My fear is that most of the house may need rewiring. (The kitchen and back room are up to standard) The house is still on the original 40 amp wiring. It was not meant to take the load of a modern day house. Heat is not helping either. Must stop waffling and get cracking here. TTFN XXXX ps Nigeria should be done for grievous bodily harm! The women play a faster game than the men. Always said so. | |

| When the lad saw the MP and his security team in two black Range Rovers he thought they are old models , then realized they were the old ones with the bullet proof glass and bomb proof doors and run flat wheels, they are building him a new one | |

| All Electric......though not for me now Bond.......don't know why they didn't leave well alone, the Jag was developing clean fuel. Yes but when I see a lovely dress in M&S it's too long for me.....way too long. I keep asking to try the Rack out but they keep saying I'm too small isn't that the whole point. | |
