| I've not seen a fly around for years, I remember talking about "Where's all the flies gone?" to Sylvia and Tony once. | |

| Carole, you and I must have been twins in another life! We have so much in common that its amazing. I have raspberry vinegarett(?) on my salads too! the only other one I use instead of salad cream or Mayonnaise here is Ken's Steak House Buttermilk Ranch. It only has one flaw, it does not have a little cap on it like some of its other dressings so it can come out in a rush. I learned to save them from other kinds so I can squeeze out just how much I want. Had some tinned peaches yesterday but the evaporated milk was nothing like the English one. I also have some fruit cocktail. I bought some nondairy ice cream made with Almond milk to try. I still like the non lactose vanilla best as I can put all kinds of topping on it. (Usually some kind of fresh fruit) I also like the real fruit juice ice lollies by Dole. Finally got the two filtered water jugs going. In this heat it is hard to keep British cucumbers for very long. I do not like the American version. Half of one would do me but they do not do that here, it's all or nothing. I can get Pickled beetroot in my regular grocery store. It's in small chunks, not slices but it tastes the same. I have been rationing my intake of grapes (both green and red) and had no problem since. (seedless I might add) Bought a small wheel of Brie and sliced it up on to crackers. With a half glass of chilled white wine YUM YUM! It's like a fancy picnic! (Not too much Alcohol in this heat) I drink San Pellegrino sparkling natural spring water as well as it's not as fizzy as the French one. Its just to vary the edict about drinking more fluid. It comes in 16.9 fluid oz bottles. as well as the regular sized one. just right for a picnic. It also cuts down on drinking the canned soft drinks. Its 71f right now and humid so got the fans running to cut down on the humidity indoors. They are on low at present. moving air evaporates the moisture. Only found one fly yesterday! The rest wanted out as much as I wanted them out! Cannot use fly spray in the house, because of my asthma. It's the good old fly swatter! My large size one is as good as a whip! It makes a pleasant Slap sound when I get one. Yes, there are fly traps of different kinds. I always remember the strips you unrolled and hung up. Not a pretty sight! Especially in a Butchers shop! Got to stop waffling and get cracking here. TTFN XXX They are times of the year that you do not want to be in Sydney. They have a fly problem there. No one prepared us for that. People were just ignoring them but to someone who comes from a relative fly free place, it made me feel sick. Bondi beach was just as bad as elsewhere. No BBQ outside! no stroll on the beach or walk in the park. Thats why the bush hat with the corks on strings in case you are wondering! | |

| Growing old disgracefully........that's me. I love salad but I love salad cream with it. Was sitting in the garden reading my book and suddenly pitter patter....but away went the chair in Benjie and I came and then out came the I've phoned and she said "I'm fed up of this weather....I put some washing on the line and then had to take it in because the rain started and then it stopped, I could of left it out" The book I'm now reading is Sam Bourne's {Carole is that you writing under a different first name} it's called"The Righteous Men" Bond you read it, Margaret you read it?

| IBS is harder to diagnose than UTI, It sounds like a problem having the bladder fully emptying itself to me. I have had all kinds over the years before they were stopped by a combination antibiotic for walking pnumonia and bladder infection at the same time. Crossed fingers not had one since! I picked that up in France. I flew home with a plane load of infection from London to LA. Everyone was coughing, sneezing or sniffing. I have had two repairs done on my bladder and still its not quite in line to completely empty every time. My IBS was caused by the antidepressant I was taking. It's been getting worse over the years that I have been taking it. I do mention it to my doctor every time I am in there but she tends to worry more about my blood pressure. It has more serious complications I know but having to either not eat before doing errands or waiting until its over and I can take an Imodium. Or on occasion making a mad dash for home is not the way I want to live.
(The newest treatment is a pill made of a healthy persons poo. Its tiny and it does not smell or taste of anything but it has been very successful where tried. Its experimental at the moment. It corrects the balance in the colon.) Luckily, I won't need that!
I had more than enough with Ian to contend with when I was in my 20s If He had a son like that, I would go crazy! He was like an adventurous monkey, slightly out of control at times. and we called him the Energiser Bunny! Up at dawn, and run flat out and fell asleep wherever he was by 8pm. I was on guard 24/7 He was 7 when we signed him up for a kids football league . He came in after that first practice saying those words I had never heard before,"Mum, I'm tired!" Peter and I nearly cheered and cried at the same time. A nice calm child, I could cope with but not that.
Time to stop waffling here and get cracking.
If you watch U tube, there is a young man in south London that does power washing and garden clearing. His name is Ben.
He earns money making videos of his job so he can have people "donate" his time once a week to do it for free for the disabled and elderly. He is very good at what he does. He is always cheerful. Those are his catch words. He does regular Paid jobs as well. He is a bit driven like Ian. Boy, does he work hard. He has done community centers , church grounds, school grounds and play grounds all for free! They are amazing to watch.
Talked To Ian yesterday, he and Rebecca have been sharing time, each doing some type of recording. Hers is the small dining room and he under the stairs a la Harry Potter. Each has to allot time periods so each can have no household noise going on while recording. So no TV or radio or using Broadband at the same time. All phones must be on mute. Or it has to be recorded again. Ian is still working his way through one of Mark Twains travel diaries. this one to Hawaii in the 1800s. The names of places are tongue twisters!
Had no sleep last night as the England game was on at 1:30AM here! I have only just righted which remote is in charge of what. still have no idea how to record yet!
I had to confer with 3 different World Cup sites to find out what time it was actually being played. Seems our American networks are having problems with the 24 hour time difference past the international date line! I have found British Summer time, East Coast of America time and one time that had nothing written except 9:30 No am or pm or where it was at all. I did finally find Fox sports 1 on the #400 channel on my cable service. I have just had some breakfast and taken my pills (Not the antidepressant I am glad to say) I am not feeling any adverse effects from not taking it. Got some chores to finish here and wipe every surface down to remove anything that attracts Flies! its 73f here at the moment with almost the same amount of humidity.
High could be 77f today. The record for this date was 99f in 1995. Normal high for this date would be 86f. Temps are very slowly dropping back to the 90s not the 100s it had been. Its partly Sunny at the moment. Only a slight breeze It was 133F at Death Valley yesterday but that is with a digital recorder not a thermometer. It has to be officially recorded first before it can be announced.
If it touched higher and then dropped back down, it does not count.

| Oh with Matthew and Laura it was "Can we play restaurants?" so we had all the fluffy toys as customers Matthew was cooking in the kitchen and Laura and me waitresses ....and I'd cut things up so they were food, the number of pan scrubs I bought to cut up for peas. I often said to David "We could buy them the proper toy food" but David always said "It'll be a nine day wonder" it never was, then it was "Nanny can we play hide and seek?" so we played that....by then either Rob or Sharron had turned up. Though often it was "Shall we play board games?" from me, sometimes it worked sometimes it was "No shall we play hide and seek?"
No no Carole not this time when it's Urine Infection but I'm talking about when you have IBS and you're having dashing off to the loo.

| Lovely photo Bond. My friend Janice says the same thing "Love seeing my grandkids but oh I'm wacked after they've gone" or when she goes for the day to Ben's she can't wait for him to say "Well Nanny is being taken home now so say bye bye" I told her I was the same with Matthew and Laura, I'd keep looking at the clock after a while waiting for either Rob or Sharron to turn up. though not Jack and Lily they always amused themselves. Though we used to enjoy taking Matthew and Laura, when they got older, to the Motor Museum or Warwick Castle and places like that Though Warwick Castle is so expensive now.
Yes Carole sounds like your tablets are working, though find out what starts it seeing you've got IBS rather than suffering with it.

| I found a third cousin on FB of all places!' Her grandfather was my grandmothers brother! my gran was about 12 when her mother died.
Gran had 3 brothers older than her. who I knew nothing about except Eusbie. It was one of the other 2 that we are related through. I have 2 family members who have blacked out their information on the ancestry sites. One I know the reason for, a very short marriage. The other may be to protect a younger generation from being bothered by certain people who forgot who started it and why they want to carry on with it after all these years. These children know nothing about what happened back then. Sometimes it's better to let sleeping dogs lie.
#1 person is still alive. #2 is my gran from my dads side of the family. She upset everyone so no one has contacted each other since I was about 12. We think it was one of her daughters that had it blocked.
It's a shame really that there might be grand children or great granchildren out there. They just do not trust anyone who might tell the wrong person.
The old witch certainly messed up my Mother and Fathers marriage. She had no example of family as her mother died when she was 3 years old and her father handed her off to a lady I have not been able to trace so far. I am sure it was not a legal adoption. This was 1893/95

| Well it's but the black cloud is out too. Black clouds over Bill's Mothers is a saying Carole nothing to do Bond's nephew . Oh yes Bond your nephew and his real Dad, My Cousin Carol often told me to get in touch with my Dad but the way I look at it you could open a can of worms, he could be very pleased to find out he had daughters, but it might upset his wife and other members of his family, Though a bit of a mystery before I met my great aunt Meg{My Gran's sister -in-law} who didn't know me and my Gran had to say to her "She's Winnie's daughter" and she looked surprised and then hugged me and said "It's lovely to finally meet you" she then wrote me a letter telling me how shocked she was and the rest of the family because all these years nobody in Newcastle knew anything about me" and when David and got married she sent us a £150 cheque and saying we can visit her and the rest of the family any time.but she and her daughter and her son -in-law lived in Buckinghamshire and had the white carpets, Daimler, with live in Chauffer I just felt .....though she sounded really nice on the phone .....white carpets with my two, my heart would be in my mouth, I've spoken to her after I had Susan but haven't been in touch for years. Oh yes, the mystery, well relatives in Newcastle and Buckinghamshire didn't know anything about me but I remember a relative sending my Gran the newspaper article of this couple who'd had a big do on their Golden Anniversary and he had so many sons and daughters and I said to my Gran, "Add two daughters to that list" so in that case why did they send it to my Gran? Anyway that's the way I look at it. "Leave well alone" | |

| morning all.
I watched the US play the Netherlands yesterday. when it was listed for today!
Tough game, the US were not on their game. You can never tell what will happen on play day. Score was1-1.
Got all my bits and bobs including another set of light bulbs (going to change both) I also have the grommet and eye screw to tame my stars and stripes.
I think I sorted the problem with the TV cable set up. Need to change batteries in the remote that I did not change yesterday! Right now, its working fingers crossed.
You know I mentioned about our fly screens here, and that we did not get many flies anyway, well, yesteday I had 5 flies get into my house!
I am guessing that berween the rubbish bins out at the curb to be emptied, that dog owners are not being fast enough picking up after their pooch's! In this heat the flies multiply very quickly.
I went to pick up a prescription refill and saw that the drug store had spread their water selection over another isle. It meant that they had the water filters I needed for my 2 jugs. Yea! The ice maker is earning its keep! It has a filter on it also. Its good for about a year. Its not that our municipal water tastes bad, but our city relies on Artesian wells to supplement our water supply in summer. I can taste the difference. Flowers and grass don't care.
We near the coast are still being kept cooler than inland. Its forecast to reach 77f at around 4pm today. Average for today's date is 87f , High for this date is 98f That was 1998. humidity stands at 78% right now. Not much breeze this morning to speak of.
Ian messaged me in the middle of the night here to tell me he is off again next week to do a documentary type short series. Don't know anything other than that. He did not say where it is being filmed. I know I referred to it as a visa but it is one more fee to be ticked off that will enable you to cross country borders. You do it online. If not, you will be in a long line to get it done as you go. it's mainly aimed at America, I think. Seems that they think we are all millionaires! and resent us for it. Wish it were true. Most are struggling like the rest of the world. Why do you think there are so many people striking here right now. It's a much higher cost of living here, especially in California. I could not live anywhere else though. We were able to prepare for our retirement, in a way that most people cannot. I am not into material things. Neither was Peter.
Time for breakfast here, Missy is once again pushing me off my chair here. She has been fed but won't remember that when I head for the kitchen! TTFN XXXX

| Hi Carole very nice very summary,I've about done for the morning so sitting with a coffee, Yes it's a bit complicated,on the morning of my brother's wedding, his best man came to our house out of the blue and said put your best togs on your son's getting married today, and he took us over to Hinckley register office for the wedding I would be 11 when it was all done we went back to Shirley mum's house for tea and cake,in a play pen in the corner was my nephew,I didn't think much of it it just made me well who's that then Shirley was early pregnant with the next one, they had a house in Wykin Hinckley To move into And that was that no more said people thought he was my brother's and because they weren't married at the time he had taken Shirley's name So all these years later he finds his dad lived in Stoney Stanton road He says his dad will always be his dad this is just another name Right load up and away | |

There was a story on TV just yesterday of a man 92yrs old who THOUGHT he was an only child until he saw on his birth certificate that his "dad" was REALLY his STEP dad ,so his daughter did a search and found out that his step dad had a daughter who was now also in her 80's They reunited and he was SO HAPPY to know he had a sibling Any way I will pop in later again STAY cool every one BTW Bond does your son and family leave the place in a mess every year for you to go over and clean it all up while they are away MORNING LADIES _________________ Carole B [i]

| Good morning all from Atherstone it's bright morning but again dark clouds over Bills mothers, Talking about our Ancestors my nephew came to see me yesterday he has finally sold his mothers house ,she died in the new year my brother died a few years ago ,he has always had his mothers name not his dad's and he told me that his mother told him his birth fathers name ,does he look it up he may have brothers and sisters, It was something that was never talked about even when he was at school with his brother both with different names ,I suppose it's not so odd today with joint families but getting on for 60 years ago it would of been a playground talking point , Over to Bedworth this morning to tidy and bring back my kit so should be finished before midday First breakfast, tea coffee and a large lemon and lime for later | |

You said it Bond how clever they were and no tools like we have now, though we still have to do the jobs, and in the way they used to do it on various buildings. Right .....speak tomorrow.

| Well did a urine test at Drs and came back a little blood and white blood cells in it Have lost 10 lb since I was there last for my physical, but as I told Lisa the nurse I've just had no appetite since all this heat and humidity started all I've wanted to do is drink my lemon crystal lite BP was good 106/76,any way I saw my Drs PA ( PATIENT ASSISTANT) as my Dr is in London right now on holiday She sent a script to pharmacy for an antibiotic that Blaine will pick up for me in an hour and said to keep drinking the cranberry now I like sour/tart ,but man this is TART I cannot either drink or eat grapefruit due to my BP pills ,and that was a favorite with a little sugar for breakfast Any way I'm going to sleep early too many trips last night to the loo _________________ Carole B [i]
