| sad to hear that Bond. Everything is complicated in those afflicted with a disability.
Peter was ajusting to his MS when he went in for his prostate check and the specialist found a lump he wanted investigated. Turned out it was cancerous but still contained inside the sack. There was a choice of treatment, Surgery, or two different kinds of Radiation treatments. (Peter has never been in a hospital in his life before and thought that the stress of hospital and surgery could trigger an MS prolapse.) The easy choice was conformal radiation. A pin point hit with a beam over a period of a few weeks. Not fully explaining what might happen in the future. It left Scar tissue which came into play when he had a bladder infection that he could not feel (nerve damage in the brain) so it got very serious quite quickly. Won't go into full description as its a bit much for anyone. It turned into a full blown infection. That needed urgent treatment. He was not expected to recover. He was in hospital for 4 months! Peters cousin always joked about the Porter men having weak bladders, ( Peters father had the same thing that the King will be having done, his was none cancerous too) I have drummed into Ian how important check ups are as he is in his 50s now. He does get them done. So far, so good.
Its too many immigrants at one time that are such a strain on any city they are sent to. Here Governors of states that have a border with Mexico are not just getting the legal kind, those with contacts in the US that will take them in. But many illegals walking with a guide they paid are infiltrating also. Many with only the clothes on their backs.
Mexico is not a rich country, so it is being strained to breaking point with the masses gathering at their border every day. Some are there for months at a time. Parents are being separated from their children, even babies.
After WW II there were thousands of refugees wandering all over Europe after having been displaced. They were given new passports just on their word only. Cannot do that today.

| Afternoon....... Yes I've seen the queen Mary's dolls house in a programme before, love to see it in real live, I love dolls houses, always wanted Susan to have one but she was never interested. saw a great place somewhere and they made Edwardian or Victorian dolls houses and I drooled over them, I didn't drool just a figure of speech. but oh they were lovely with all the rooms you could furnish parents, siblings, Nanny with baby and other servants ......lovely. I would of played with it for years. Give Carole a chocolate cake. BTW great painting Carole. I was thinking the same about Tesco Carole. No the bit of puzzle hasn't turned up. Oh I remember the dog we had when I was growing up "Paddy" I came home from school and my Gran said for me to take Paddy for a walk, we were walking about and Paddy started to do the same then something pink started to come out and then out came my missing pink sock. I hope nobody is eating. Yes Margaret Benjie 's good about dropping things if you tell him to "Leave" or "Drop it" but you have to catch him before he's had a good chew and is about to swallow.....I've dropped an earring before now and shouted loudly "LEAVE" and he's just left it....but he had darted under the table this time and come out chewing David shouted "Drop it" so Benjie swallowed then looked at us "What do you want me to drop?" When he was a puppy, his first christmas I was worried about doing the Christmas Tree but he just sat there watching us and he's never gone for any decoration. Unlike one of Rob's cats when he was married to the Witch that cat would climb up the tree and pull the decoration off and chew them if they didn't get there first.....they had to stop putting the tree up. You're bond to feel that way Margaret. David had Prostate surgery just over 2 yrs ago. Right on that......we're watching a Netflex programme. Avatar......it's the scarf that does it. | |

| Well, things are better this morning after yesterday's chaos. I did not mention that it was also the anniversary of Peters passing.
Its been 8 years since he has been gone. I miss him as much now as I did at the time.
Waiting for doctors office to call but after lowering the dose of the Blood Pressure pill and being fully hydrated I had a peaceful night.
Got a lecture from Ian this morning as his phone exploded with text messages from the automatic notification program of the Safety pendant company. Right before curtain time in the UK. Will be doing a refresher course with Melanie today.
My system does not like any of the newer drugs like Statins or Beta Blockers. I get weird reactions from them, always about the 3rd dose.
I am not going to start taking pills for the side effects, as that is a slippery slope. There are many older medications that work just as well but like everything else here, the drug companies brainwash doctors into believing that newer is better. That is not always the case. My experience has shown that My BP was just as high even on a stronger medication! I pride myself on being a good patient who will hang in there to give any medication a fair trial before saying its not for me, lets try something else.
I have seen photos of Queen Mary's dolls house, it is huge and beautifully made.
Just got the news about the Princess of Wales having surgery and the King will be having surgery this coming week. The Prostate surgery is something that is done a lot for none cancerous prostate problems. Cannot even guess what Princess of Wales problem is but it was scheduled so not an emergency.
Its 56f here at the moment and partly foggy and hazy with some sunshine. High is expected to be 63f and mostly sunny. There are bands of rain headed to the far north of us into Canada and our northern most states , Washington and Oregon by Saturday. It should be light rain for us.
Dogs and cats will eat anything. We had a cat that ate a silver icicle off the Christmas tree one year. We only saw that she was acting sick so took her to the vets and an X ray showed a tangled ball of fur and silver in her tummy. Good job we spotted she was not feeling good so it only took a strong laxative to clear it out of her system. I developed eagle eyes for anything on the floor or within the cats reach that might attract them after that. The icicles stopped about 3 feet from the floor from then on and we put a small ring shaped Christmas railway and engine round the tree to put her off getting that close to the tree. Found that the old kind we had, had lead in them. So swapped it out for silver garland on the tree.
A friend of mine had a German Shepherd who stole her false teeth and ate them. (A full set) He also stole her sunglasses and buried them in the garden Never to be found again. Another friend had a Golden Lab who stole clothes and buried them. (These were new clothes with tags still on them) Dogs sense of smell will attract them to things that in their eyes might taste good. One command to teach a dog is to "Leave It" so they drop what they were drawn to. Only snag is you have to catch them doing it first!

| Hi it reminds me of a story,we stayed in a guest house in Torbay before we were married They had a lovely Beagle he wasn't allowed in the lounge dining room but if he could he would sneak in , and eat anything, the young son had set some of his little toy soldiers out only small one about a inch high , before they spotted him the dog had eat half a dozen When the owner was out walking him at night (the dog not the owner) he started dragging his bum along the ground very embarrassing He spotted having never seen one he thought he could see a tait worm coming out as he was dragging his bum along the ground so he put his foot on it there was a pop and out popped a tea bag ,they hadn't found the soldiers when we were there, | |

| I am back home after picking up the antibiotics and a Urine test cup from the doctors office. I am very dehydrated so need to drink a lot of fluids. Every specialist charges an arm and a leg if you are not careful. it should be covered by my medical Insurance but I need permission or OK from my GP for any specialist.
I talked to Cindy across the street and I talked to Melanie so they knew what was going on before I set out. As I was ending my conversation with Melanie she pointed out I should take my safety alert pendant with me. By the time I got in my car I had a paramedic truck and a fire engine at my front door! When I got back with the specimen cup, Brian my tax man was waiting for me! I had forgotten to cancel the alert! I got to the doctors office and back OK.
Now its just how much fluid can I drink to get enough specimen to take back for them to test.
Today is the 30th anniversary of the big earthquake we had in 1994 . It was a 6.7 magnitude It killed 57 people, Injured thousands. and left Billions of dollars in damage. It took years to rebuild. Much is reinforced from the lessons learned. It happened just after 4:30am in the morning so most were still at home.
Where I live, it was miles away from the epicenter but The chandelier swayed and a few things fell but no real big damage. It was not the first one we have had and it wont be the last one. We live with the knowledge that it happens here. It is less destructive than Tornados in certain ways. Our buildings fall down, not blow away. Time for another fluid break. TTFN

| Well afternoon guys, sorry you've got such a terrible cold or virus what ever it is Carole.....and Margaret in the wars, and Bond having fun on his new mattress and he's given himself a bad back. If I stand up leaning over the table doing the puzzle I feel it ever a while, and I can't sit down doing it, my sleeve catches a piece and it goes on the floor and has eaten one already. Margaret haven't you a Chiropody handy? One you can just go in and get treated and just pay for it or are they all very expensive? Hope you get your meds sorted out. No bags Carole......one I thought about but decided not to bother. Ok ........later Avatar......Majorca, the only time we'd been there.....it was a lot warmer than it is here today. | had a bad night so called the Drs office and talked to a nurse practitioner and explained that among other things, I cannot take the BP meds anymore. they are passing a note on to my doctor who will I am sure arrange an office visit of some kind. I might not get seen until Friday, I think I can wait until then. its not something that can be taken care of in an urgent care clinic as they only treat minor things. and I do not want to go to the Emergency department at the hospital and wait many hours to be seen as its not an emergency situation. It may just be something that only needs some antibiotics. I am just a little spacey having had only 2 hours sleep last night. Going to wait for a call back now. Need to drink a lot of fluids.

| Our flu and covid infection season is at medium level here. Only have a mask order in three counties so far. Its the most inhabited ones, LA County, Riverside County and Orange County. Have reinstated a fresh mask in my car as well as one I will wear. I have had my flu and covid booster shot so should be good to go. I need to get the BP meds I am on changed, I have been having bad dreams and nightmares. (It is listed as one of its side effects) It also does not seem to be helping my BP either. Between the trips to the pink throne and being woken up in fright. It's not very restful sleep. Its classed as a Beta Blocker which might be wonderful on someone half my age but I do better on older type meds. I am not happy with my doctors care at the moment. I only see her once a year for a free physical and the issues I have, have been going on since last April.
No referral to a specialist, just Physical Therapy for my back. As usual the blood they took says my thyroid level is in normal range but I have the whole list of symptoms of some kind of problem with the thyroid function which can only be diagnosed by a specialist and a T3 or T4 test. Its a shame that you cannot trust your GP who is governed by the medical insurance you have. I don't even know who is in charge at the practice I go to. The practice I used to have before it got taken over by this outfit used to list all the doctors and the person in charge. So you could ask for a second opinion. I could do with a foot doctor as I have a big nail that is getting too tough for my clippers. I need an authorization from my doctor to get an appointment to see one in their group of specialists. If I go outside them, I will have to pay for it myself.
Woke up to thick fog this morning along with an air quality alert which says no wood burning allowed again for the three counties I already mentioned, its in force until tomorrow. I don't think that too many people heat their homes with log fires or have back yard fire pits in our neck of the woods. There are no wildfires at present so that cannot be the cause. its an inversion layer like a lid over the LA Basin so no wind to blow it away. Its 52f at present with an expected high of 62f. Sun Is trying to break through though. TTFN

| It does seem as if every company is trying to get their pound of flesh these days to make up for all the money they lost during the Covid pandemic. They claim that to attract more workers they need to pay higher wages. Now they are also finally repairing or upgrading their equipment. Only thing that has gone down here is the price of Gasoline! (Our state is among the priciest in the nation.)
Sorry for the pause here but Ian called and Monday is the one day the theatre is closed. So We tend to talk a lot. As Carole says, its Martin Luther King day here today. Lots of parades in the black communities. its also designated as a day of service for them. The man was a great leader but like Kennedy had his life cut short by someone who was a hater. Never knowing that this country might have a black President one day. Our present Vice president is by -racial as well as being a woman. Glenn replaced the timer yesterday so that's back up and working again. Both lights were on separate switches which Peter changed to a single switch and then changed to a timer. They could have been turned on by hand! Only time it was needed was if we were away from home at dusk.
I followed the Man U vs Spurs game through my BBC Sports site as the game was on Peacock streaming service. which I don't have. It was live coverage of the game. Its kind of like being on here.
Ian has just sent me the 4 pages of forms to fill out to renew my US passport. It runs out by July this year. I will need to get a new photo done which most Photographic shops do. It has to be a certain size and position. (Its only 2 pages really but my printer does not print both sides at once.)
Had another earthquake at 2:44am this morning centered off Catalina Island They say it was a 4.4 which i did not feel as I was sound asleep! Catalina is about 22 miles off the California coast and it was centered on the other side of the island, about 65 odd miles away all told. Its 56f and hazy here this morning with an expected high of 59f. TTFN.

| Afternoon........and boy it's freezing out there. they're saying we might have snow by Wednesday. Gosh that new Tesco seems to have Mrsb excited......didn't she go last Thursday 11th she was there because the doors opened and she went again yesterday to wander about. Yes you have to keep the little shops going also. Susan's MIL have some really tall sunflowers in their back garden.......and a hedgehog house .....she puts hedgehog food out for them and water of course. Oh Carole got a text message from Laura "When you were in the Lady Graven room did anything strange happen?" I asked her why and she said her and Codie were sitting on the bed and suddenly the bathroom door opened and shut and then open again and then the shower turned on. they left the bathroom light on that night. So I told her about Matilda and what happened when we were there. I wonder how often people do have this sort of experience? I wasn't scared just shouted "Matilda pack it in" though the scary bit was during the night I woke up and wanted to go to the loo I asked David to come with me he said just shout if anything happens, well sat on the loo and the light pull, which was plaited thick silk started to move "DAVID! I shouted and he said "What do you want? I told him about the light pull swinging about and he said "You might have touched it when you went by" I said it was still when I sat on the loo and then started to swing, then all of a sudden it started going wild but by the time David turned up it was just swinging a bit "Yeah you brushed against it when you walked" well he didn't see what I saw. that was the only time I was scared other times I just said "Matilda stop it" I did then tell her a Monk walks around the corridors, but not many people have seen him. My SIL has been sick 2 days before they came home from Cornwall until yesterday when he only had a slight tickle, and logged on to work, he's not done that for that long or gone into the office, which isn't Matt. Seems bugs are going around. We've been with the same internet for years That is bad taking money out of your account without asking you, that should never happen. Got to phone | |

| All quiet on the west coast. Glenn is coming to replace the timer on the front porch light at !!am. I am going to watch Man U vs Spurs for some excitement while eating breakfast. I have been through many Cable company take -overs. Its Spectrum at the moment. The only decent thing they did was keep me on the original level I paid for, I was on basic with the next level.' I do not need all the premium channels. It is fiber optics here too.
I have what I have from when the mortgage got paid off .The money we spent on that now pays for the cable network. The fees have gone up but not enough to think about looking at another one. I also have my phone service through them and my computer Wi-Fi. I do get a break for having all three with them. Its one of my only treats as I do not spend any other money on entertainment. See you all later Alligators.

| 08:26:37 Just back from the hardly any one there but did see two of the regular customers at the deli counter ,Bob and Kate Sun out but they are saying as the clouds approach from the West (That's me)so will the snow flurries start but should be a very small accumulation, today at least Omg see now it's North Korea firing rockets and South Korea reporting on it ,and the Volcano in Iceland erupting AGAIN WAS it chicken Little who ran screaming...The end is near I hate that Bond when the cable companies slide in extra fees thinking you will not notice The biggest thing now is with mine Optimum is they want you to get your mobile phone service through them But Tracie gave me one of her phone numbers ,and I pay her $65 every month and we are with AT&T,Spencer has Blaine on his plan and they with Sprint/Mobile Ok groceries put away ,I'm talking * sexy* now according to one of my grocery store employees ,so guess the colds on the move she said she had a itchy/tingly feeling on one side of her nose which is how some start ,mine starts with a slight sore throat My truck was singing all the way I NEED to get the power steering Lines fixed but I do not have $1000 So Spencer called one of his mates who does car repairs on his own to see if He can do it cheaper as the parts are not that expensive it's the labor as it's a PIA to do ,and Spencer will pay for it out of his tax refund ,I just wish I did not need my but as long as I'm capable to I like to drive myself. | 04:54:43 Morning Well first off Spencer's snuffy nose has flown to ME so I have been taking cold pills all yesterday every 4 hrs and have two more to take right now I do not think its anything more than a regular head cold 'he says it could be in and out of peoples cars all day he could have picked up a cold bug as none of the other mechanics are sick Next as I said that was one of the first attempts I tried Bond my flower ones I think came out MUCH better So you hit a WHOLE "30 quid" you think ,well that will get you a couple of hamburgers and some chips ,and swopping cable providers again I see ,how often do you do that ? I have the same one and have had for quite a few years but change some of the promotions that they offer that help drop the monthly payment ,one will be when they change us to Fiber-optic as they say EVERY one will have it later this year and if we did not do it NOW we would have to PAY $100 to have it changed doing it now will be free plus it drops my bill down a few dollars for so long I guess I do not CARE about faster internet but this is what its ALL about I can tell when my son is not feeling 100% as he only dropped off his W2 income tax form off to our accountant Nick and after swinging by Seaside Park briefly came right home Watching YET AGAIN more HOUSE fires around the State ,people must be doing SOMETHING trying to keep warm for all these to happen Over the next week its going to be FRIGID weather with snow as well in the forecast Update on the guy next door Danny ,his blood work came back non toxic so that means he is FLIPPING his LID and they have put him into a mental facility for two weeks for assessment I guess so its not his kidney failure causing it OK I have to get on need to run to the before the weather changes we dropped from 53degrees yesterday to a BALMY 24f and its saying the SNOW could arrive possibly this afternoon ....THAT is EARLY as they had been saying TUESDAY GOOD MORNING LADIES Marge hope your feeling better today _________________ Carole B [i]

| Painting flowers is a little more forgiving than a lot of other types of painting. So many varieties these days.
Peter tried doing a paint by numbers of a Parrot on a bush. Only problem was he could not leave it alone! He kept touching it up until you could not tell what you were looking at!
I am really enjoying having a heater that does not turn itself off late at night. The fancy bells and whistles one had a timer built in and it was too high tech for me to change without messing up all the other settings.
Big news here in LA. We were one of seven cities to get a retired space shuttle. We got Endeavour, Yes, spelt the English way! Ours will be the only one mounted in Launch mode. It will be the centerpiece of a new Air and space center.
Many inventions in that area have come from companies in this state. Now of course its famous for its Silicone Valley companies. The present Science Museum is a Victorian building along with the Natural History Museum. They no longer reflect the full spectrum of discoveries made since the end of WWII. We have a real Tar Pit still bringing up dinosaur bones not far from there! Right near of downtown LA! Our town can lay claim to a portion of wetlands marsh. Saved from the developers when expanding our shopping mall. It was nearly all gone by the time it was realized that they were an important part of the Eco system between the land and the ocean. There were a gallant crew who worked at rectifying any damage that had been done and it is a thriving habitat today.
The gulls had taken to using an ornamental fountain in a landscaped area in front of a bank building as a spa and sleeping area! They would gather there when they knew a storm was coming. It was right on a busy intersection! They were still wired to look for the Marsh. The lazy ones use our high school field or the parking area in front of PetSmart! Not many go as far as the Torrance airfield. These were all areas of Marshland before people came. If the balance is right, its not smelly or fly ridden. Well, that is my little travelog for the day. Not feeling 100% right now so just plodding along. TTFN

| Wow Carole that painting is good, looks real. don't talk to me about cake.......I'm eating too much. Oh Laura and her friend Codie have gone to Coombe Abbey the room they'd booked was being decorated so they up graded them to the Lady Craven room which we had and I played Lady of the Manor. and it was haunted by Matilda and a couple of things happened and I said "Pack that in Matilda" or "Matilda!!! " but oh we loved staying there.....Lady Craven room was the top room so they've done well. Haven't told them it was haunted. Oh Matthew isn't taking the car until Easter......so we'll take it out a couple of times just to keep the engine ticking over. Susan's paid the money for the number plate into David's Bank. Though the bag I had my eye on has been sold. Oh well it wasn't to be. | |
